Or so I think...Then again, this Nitro seemed far worst on a TEW screen than it does in this dynasty. So maybe the "will WCW and Sting fail?" might become the "maybe you actually simmed this dynasty better than you remember." Other than making it sound like your game's already over; no, it didn't answer anything.

As for my show grades....I was averaging mid to upper 60 show ratings during the first few months. Then again, I wasn't really putting shows together very well then. Now I'm putting together pretty good rated shows and I was just able to get the ultimate steal from the WWE; Eddie Guerrero. Although, it was after a heated contract battle and a high price-tag.

I'm getting ready to debut him and I'm getting pretty close to getting National.

<div style="text-align:center;">David Arquette: Nitro had finally aired, and, after the live coverage, Dave Meltzer wrote a review. Here are the highlights:

<div style="text-align:center;">"Nitro was very entertaining to watch, and the feedback has been great. A lot of praises, including my own. I said it would probably rate within a 65, and I was actually spot on. A 70 or more would have been "The stuff that dreams are made of" for WCW, but I guess if they ever rate over 70, IF, it will be on PPV, at least for now. But 65 was great tv and a great tribute to Gene. (...) I wonder if the chick magnets are actually gonna be a team. I wonder, because debuting them in a singles matches was...unusal. But Punk as a TV Champion might be good. And I bet they will be shortening their names to CM Punk and CM Venom in no time. (...) Steiner and DDP's segment was gold. Really gold. If this is a begining of a feud, my hopes are up. (...)

I can't believe how good was the tag team match of Steiner, Sting and company. As good as the main event. And if Ric Flair and Booker can carry Nash to a good match, than WCW might actually have a future. Let's see how it all goes."</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">David Arquette: However, Nitro's debut would soon be overshadowed by a new event. And by soon I mean...just a few hours after the show, when WCW posted the following announcement on it's website:</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">"WCW has released Bill Goldberg. We thank him for his contributions to the company and wish him the best on his future endeavours." Signed: Eric Bischoff, WCW president.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Dusty Rhodes: It was chaos. As soon as those words got to the website, it was chaos. WCW was releasing the guy who was actually more over at that time. Their biggest asset. And the worst part? Goldberg had no idea what was going on!</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Vince Russo: If I was one the one doing that...people would scream "Hang Him!" and they would try to really hang me. For real!

<div style="text-align:center;">Bill Goldberg: I had no idea I was being fired. I remember I was injured at that time, but nothing serious, maybe a month or two out of the rings.

</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Eric Bischof: The following weeks were chaos. Fans full of anger and resentment, demanding to know why he had been fired. People were chanting "We want Goldberg" on our next shows, or "You screwed Goldberg", and I was innocent. That was Sting's decision. I took one for the team.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Sting: Eric wanted to take the heat. He thought Sting, the wrestler, shouldn't be confused with Sting, the booker, and he decided to announce it as his decision. But it was my call. I did what I thought was the best for WCW. Eric got a lot of heat. He became hated. Deeply. But I wasn't gonna book him as a heel. It was my fault, I wanted to take the heat for what I had done. Eric refused.

<div style="text-align:center;">Sid Vicious: I was released a few days before Bill, but it was all amicable. WCW's insurance would still pay all my medical bills, and I got a good severance package and an open door to return later, when I healed up. I was estimated to be almost a year out injured and I had like...6 or 8 months left on my contract. It made sense for me to leave. This was not the case with Bill. He wasn't even informed he had been fired.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Kevin Nash: No one knew what was going on, or why he was getting fired. The internet marks were all over it.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Air Styles: If that was a message stating that if Goldberg was being fired, anyone could be next, I got the message. Sadly, a lot of people did not.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">David Arquette: Soon, all that situation escalated, and the world was asking: Why was Bill Goldberg fired and, most important than that, why was we fired that way?</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Bret Hart: I saw the announcement on the website after the show and i thought "What the well are these guys doing?" The problem wan't just seeing him being fired. The problem was also the fact that he wasn't even informed. When Bill himself confirmed that rumour, hell was breaking lose.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Bill Goldberg: I was at home...I watched Nitro, and I liked it. A few hours later, a friend called me asking why was I leaving WCW? And I was like..."Wait...What? What are you talking about?" He told me to check WCW's site...and I did. I couldn't believe it...I had no idea why I was being fired. WCW also wasn't interested in paying me what they had to, in order to release me...so I thought going to court was my only option.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">David Arquette: June was the begining of a New Era for WCW, and May was the end of an old one. WCW had lost more than 4 million, but mostly due to investments, so the important thing was to be profitable, starting in June. New challenges would soon rise for Sting and WCW. Would they make it? While all those questions were being made, the world of wrestling was still mourning for Gene Okerlund.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Jason Hervey: I was in charge of the TV show production and that included conducting the interviews, among several other things. We always had a list of pre-set question that we had to ask everyone, because we wanted them giving their personal opinions on the same type of questions at certain times. That would help us and allow us to,s sometimes, build an episode's title around a subject that everyone had been recorded talking about. One of these pre-set questions was "How do you expect to be remembered in the years to come?" And everyone was giving different answer's...but Gene's answer was, to me, the most honest and aunthentic one...It was Gene Okerlund showing us what Gene Okerlund was all about...in one answer.</div>

<div style="text-align:center;">Gene Okerlund: "How do I expect to be remembered in the years to come?" I can only hope anyone can say something nice about me, but I really hope they can see me only as the guy holding the mic. Wrestlers, managers, and all those guys who I interview on TV, those are the guys they need to remember, those are the ones they need to perpetuate on their memories. Me? I'm just a guy holding a microphone.</div>

It seems that Sting is being smart enough to cater not only to the TV audiences, but also to those who pay tickets. Smart move. WCW will need to keep the ticket payers happy. I can actually see WCW developing some undercard stories on the pre-show as a bonus, like they did with the Chick Magnet's debut last week. If you are one of the spectators at the Amway Arena, you will have a lot of wrestling to watch. Good for you...and me, I will be there.

- Scott Steiner vs. ? (OFN Match) - The final OFN match of the day will feature Scott Steiner facing a newcomer. Who will it be, and will an upset happen to Steiner?

- Sting vs. Mike Awesome (NWA World Title Tournament, round 1) - The Icon vs. the former ECW champion. Who will advance to the next round?

- (The Ric Flair Invitational #1) Ric Flair © vs. Booker T; (United States Championship Match) - Booker wants his title back and he means business. Can he overcome the champion, or will Flair have the final wooo...i mean word, here?

This looks like an interesting Nitro. But a lot of question marks are left unanswered. 3 OFN matches will bring 4 free agents to WCW. Will WCW become the land of free agents? Konnan's partner will also be revealed. It is not an OFN match, so this will be a familiar face. What and who to expect? Nitro is looking like a mistery...one I don't wanna miss. So, I'm thinking about doing Nitro's presentation a little different from the last one. Instead of having Meltzer's review after each segment, I was thinking the whole show could be presented from his point of view, thus enhancing the live coverage experience i'm trying to achieve. I will also start placing most of the interviewing parts of the episodes after Nitro itself, as most of what is going on during Nitro itself will be discussed in the interviews. Now that the tribute to Gene is over, and Nitro will really kick off, I think it's the best way to present the whole thing. So get your predictions now, because Episode 2's first part, that comes before the actual Nitro itself, will probably be short. Any thoughts about this? Do you agree or disagree? What do you think? Let me know.

This looks like a good card. Very interested to see what is coming out of this show. And even if those episode titles are not the final ones, they seem interesting. I would say something big might happen. But good or bad is the question. Loving this so far. It really looks like watching a tv show, as someone said.

Morrus is a better worker and you have much more mileage out of him than Bagwell in my opinion. Buff is horrible backstage, so I'm going with Morrus here.

- Chuck Palumbo (w/ Sean O'Haire) vs. ? (w/ Konnan)

I've got to think back to who was still on the WCW roster and who is friends with Konnan. I'll go with Juventud Guerrera

- KroniK (Adams & Clark) vs. Dynamite Duo (? & ?); Open Fight Night Match

No idea. Not even gonna try and guess who.

- Scott Steiner vs. ? (OFN Match)

You'll want to build him up, so he gets the win. Davey's a favorite choice, but I believe he's either still injured or on hiatus. I'll go with AJ Styles.

- Sting vs. Mike Awesome (NWA World Title Tournament, round 1)

It's going to be a dirty win though, not a clean one. Someone interferes.

On some side notes, I'm not too fond of all the mystery opponents. I know you need an easy tie-breaker for the predictions, but having mystery opponents for nearly every match (on the main show) is a bit over-kill. I don't mind a few here and there, but it makes it tough to build a show on.

Secondly, not sure if you've considered it, but I always have great success teaming Norman Smiley and Ernest Miller. I call them the Smiling Cats and they've had fantastic chemistry as partners in every game I've done.
