WCW: The Quest For The Lost Glory

Recommended Posts

Good Fans choice show. I was pretty surprised by the titles changing hands. Hall with the US title is a good way for Booker to get it back.

Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon vs. The Outsiders

- I see Kanyon again being the sacrificial lamb and quite possibly to start of a turn on DDP. I'd love to see you bring in Positively Kanyon!

Booker T vs. Rick Steiner

Ernest Miller vs. Jeff Jarrett

- Somebody call my momma!!!! The Cat's gonna job this one.

KroniK vs. Shane Helms and Jamie Knoble

Billy Kidman and AJ Styles vs. Chuck Palumbo and Mark Jindrak

Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon - going against my better judgement but I feel like I owe Kanyon the opportunity for vengeance

Booker T

Jeff Jarrett

KroniK - Shane Helms has fallen off the map a bit and KroniK seem to be legit contenders

Billy Kidman and AJ Styles - could go either way

Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon vs. The Outsiders

I'd expect some HBK interference

Booker T vs. Rick Steiner

Booker's on the card for the bash, so he wins here

Ernest Miller vs. Jeff Jarrett

Never liked the Cat

KroniK vs. Shane Helms and Jamie Knoble

See Booker/Steiner

Billy Kidman and AJ Styles vs. Chuck Palumbo and Mark Jindrak

Both stand as challengers for Chavo, and Chuck and Mark don't have much going for them

It's that time again, folks! The 24 hour deadline warning is...now.

Also, I want to thank everyone for your comments on the Fans' Choice Monday Nitro. I really appreciate all of them. As for the title changes, it was alway my intention to have at least one title change hands at the show in order to add some meaning and credibility to the format, as well as to make you guys' choices and votes matter. The only title I knew wasn't going to change hands at this show was the World Title...for various storyline reasons. :) I felt now was a good time to switch the Tag Team Titles since Sons Of The South are very much my number one face tag team and after coming close a couple of times it just felt right to put the belts on them now. As for the US Title and Scott Hall, it just made too much sense storyline wise to not have the nWo screw Kanyon out of the title :D

Tony welcomes everyone to the show and the announcers then talk about last week's "Fans' Choice" edition of Monday Nitro. They talk about the two title changes, Sons of the South winning the Tag Team Titles and Scott Hall and the nWo stealing the United States Championship from Kanyon. They then direct their attention to this week's show, especially the main event where Kanyon has a change at some payback as he teams up with Diamond Dalls Page to take on the Outsiders, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, the two men who screwed Kanyon out of the US Title last week. The announcers are then cut off as an all too familiar music starts playing throughout the arena....</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ShawnMichaels.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/KevinNash2002.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ScottHall2.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> All three members of the nWo walk out from the back and as they head for the ring Tony notes that two of the three members now carry gold, Shawn Michaels as the World Champion and now Scott Hall as the US Champion. Once Michaels, Hall and Nash reach the ring they grab a mic and it is the new United States Champion who speaks first. "Hey Yo!" Hall says that so many people had gotten their hopes up after Booker T returned, but if last week proved anything it is that the nWo is still running the show and they are stronge and better than ever. He says that Kanyon wasn't man enough to be the US Champion and Kanyon definitely wasn't man enough to beat him, which is why he is now a three time United States Champion. Kevin Nash gets on the mic next and he talks about being the only nWo member without a title--at the moment! Nash says that it is only a matter of time before he'll have yet another piece of gold to wrap around his sexy waist and there's nothing anybody can do about it. Finally Shawn Michaels takes the mic and he talks about the upcoming Bash At The Beach pay per view, saying that the nWo will once again prove their dominance by winning the six man tag team match and showing the world that Sting, DDP and Booker T are nothing next to the nWo! Finally Michaels finishes off the nWo promo by acknowledging that they have some business to take care of tonight before they get to Bash At The Beach, saying that what they did to Kanyon last week is going to pale in comparison to what the Outsiders are going to do to him and Diamond Dallas Page tonight! <strong>(B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36487" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/JeffJarrett.jpg</span>w/<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/CheerleaderMelissa.jpg</span>vs.<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ErnestMiller.jpg</span><p> </p><p> </p><p> In our opening contest "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett went one on one with "The Cat" Ernest Miller. Goldberg enters the ring and walks right up to Jarrett, getting in his face and staring him down. Jarrett appears to be trying to reason with Goldberg, or at the very least calm him down a bit, but it doesn't appear to be working. Goldberg grabs Jarrett by the throat, but then he suddenly doubles over as Cheerleader Melissa had snuck into the ring and she delivered a swift kick right between Goldberg's legs. Jarrett then grabs Goldberg and....STROKE!!!! Douglas says that he's got a surprise for Kidman; it is going to be Billy Kidman versus Shane Douglas at Bash At The Beach....in a Torrie Wilson's contract on a pole match! Douglas explains that the winner of the match will be the person who first claims Torrie's contract off the pole...and that person, the winner, will then earn the right to have Torrie as his manager for the rest of the year! Douglas adds that Kidman shouldn't even bother complaining because this is not a challenge, it is Douglas telling Kidman about what is already a done deal. He has already cleared it with the boss, Eric Bischoff, and the match is booked for Bash At The Beach! Kidman obviously isn't happy about this at all, but Shane Douglas is all smiles as he drops the mic and heads backstage <strong>(D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/RicFlair2.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/SeanOHaire2001.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> We cut to Eric Bischoff's office where he is joined by "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Sean O'Haire. Flair is demanding to know what is going on with the United States title shot that O'Haire was supposed to receive at Bash At The Beach. Bischoff explains that things have changed. Since the champion, Scott Hall, is already booked to compete, O'Haire can't get his US Title shot at the pay per view. Flair clearly doesn't like that and he complains loudly about it, demanding that Scott Hall wrestle twice at Bash At The Beach. Bischoff then informs Flair that he's the boss, not Flair, and Flair doesn't get to make demands. But Sean O'Haire will have a match this Sunday night at Bash At The Beach. It is going to be Sean O'Haire...versus...Kanyon...and the winner of the match will face Scott Hall the night after Bash At The Beach on Monday Nitro with the United States Championship on the line! In other words, because of Ric Flair's complaints, Sean O'Haire just lost his US Title shot and he will now have to earn it all over again. Flair is obviously still unhappy, but O'Haire, who has been keeping quiet, looks absolutely furious <strong>(C+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36487" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/JamieNoble.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ShaneHelms.jpg</span>vs.<span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BrianAdams2.jpg</span><span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BryanClarke.jpg</span><p> </p><p> </p><p> Back in the ring it was time for tag team action and a match that was huge for both teams as they try to position themselves for a shot at the titles. The match was about as even as it could be with both teams getting roughly the same amount of offense in, but in the end it was KroniK who picked up the big win when Adams and Clark nailed the High Times double chokeslam on Knoble for the win and some big time momentum heading into Bash At The Beach.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>KroniK defeated Shane Helms and Jamie Knoble at 7.59 by pinfall following a High Times double chokeslam on Knoble (D+)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ScottSteiner.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Following the match we head to the back where "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner is standing by and--surprise, surprise--Steiner looks pissed off. Considering all of the personal issues between these men, it was perhaps quite surprising that the match went more than 14 minutes before it finally broke down into chaos and all four men were in the ring. First targeting veterans they believed were "over the hill", The Three then turned their attention to Sons Of The South, taking issue with Dustin Rhodes and BG James' pride in their heritage, saying that Sons of the South should be building their careers off their own skills and not the legacy of their families. A brutal attack on Dustin's father, Dusty Rhodes, was the thing that made Sons of the South realize that The Three were a threat that needed to be dealt with. Will the former champions earn themselves an opportunity to regain the titles they lost? Will KroniK build on their momentum from this past Monday Nitro and put themselves in line for a title shot? Douglas continued making advances on Torrie, and it all came to a head this past week on Nitro when Douglas announced that Eric Bischoff had signed off on a match between Douglas and Kidman for Bash At The Beach, a match that would see the winner earn the right to have Torrie as his manager for the rest of the year. Will Billy Kidman be able to pick up the win and save his girlfriend from having to endure six months of managing the obsessive Shane Douglas? Flair lost his only opportunity at the World Title until Greed 2003, and Steiner missed out on a World Title shot that he has been demanding for months. Now all three men face off against each other at Bash At The Beach, and while both Steiner and Flair are determined to prove that they were a more worthy and deserving choice than Rey Misterio Jr., Rey himself has the opportunity to shut both men up and prove, once and for all, that the sky is the limit for the fan favorite. But the return of Booker T changed the landscape. Gone was the nWo's numbers advantage, and with it gone, the nWo's dominance seemed to fade, though not completely. Now Sting, DDP and Booker T teams up to take on Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in a huge six man tag team match that looks like it is going to be an all out war. <em>At fist I was going to go with WCW, because this is a match the nWo could lose without taking a huge hit. Tony welcomes everyone to Bash At The Beach 2002 and introduces his broadcast partners, "The Professor" Mike Tenay and "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. Tony, Mike and Dusty go through the card for tonight's big pay per view event, saying that even though there is only one title match on the card, WCW is once again delivering a card jam-packed with big time matches. They talk about the main event with the nWo going up against Sting, Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T in a six man tag team match, as well as the Goldberg versus Jeff Jarrett match where the owner of WCW, Eric Bischoff, will serve as the guest referee. We will also crown new number one contenders for both the Tag Team Titles and the United States Championship, and that is just a few choice highlights of what you are going to be seeing tonight. Tony then sends the action down to the ring where our opening match is about to take place.

The opening match of Bash At The Beach saw three of the top tag teams in WCW today facing off with a Tag Team Title shot on the line as The Impact Players, KroniK and The Nasty Boys went toe to toe. Ted DiBiase was quick to call his Impact Players out onto the apron, which left KroniK and The Nasty Boys to kick things off with Brian Adams and Jerry Saggs starting in the ring. Fresh off a momentum building win on Nitro, KroniK dominated the early parts of this one, working effectively together to keep Saggs from tagging either his partner or one of the Impact Players. After several minutes of KroniK control, Saggs finally managed to buy himself a much needer breather by stunning Bryan Clark with a jawbreaker. Saggs then managed the tag to Mike Awesome, who came in and took care of business as both members of KroniK were in the ring, trying to maintain control but failing to do so. After an impressive series of power moves, Mike Awesome hit an impressive Awesome Bomb on Brian Adams, but before he could make the cover Brian Knobbs made a blind tag. Mike Awesome objected and the confrontation cost Knobbs valuable seconds. When he was finally able to make the cover, Adams kicked out after two. Frustrated, Brian Knobbs went back to confront Mike Awesome and a brief brawl ensued between Knobbs and Awesome which resulted in Knobbs eventually turning around right into a High Times double chokeslam from both members of KroniK. Brian Adams then covered Knobbs for the three count, eliminating the Nasty Boys just south of the eight minute mark. As the referee was busy getting Bryan Clark back out onto the apron, the Impact Players jumped into the ring and went to work on Brian Adams and the double team continued until the referee finally turned around and threatened to disqualify the Impact Players if one of them did not exit the ring. The Impact Players maintained control, but Adams kept kicking out of the pin attempts and eventually he made it to his corner. Bryan Clark came in and started cleaning house, but just as it looked like all of the momentum was on KroniK's side, Clark charged full steam into a Lance Storm superkick that rocked him to the point where he staggered right into a modified Awesome Bomb from Mike Awesome, who then clotheslined Brian Adams over the top rope while Lance Storm made the cover on Clark for the win in a very solid opening match.

The Impact Players defeated The Nasty Boys and KroniK at 14.04 when Lance Storm pinned Brian Clark following a modified Awesome Bomb. The Impact Players become the number one contenders to the WCW Tag Team Championships (C+)

Torrie Wilson's Contract On A Pole Match

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Shane_Douglas7.jpgvs.http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BillyKidman2.jpgw/http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/TorrieWilson.jpg

The issue between these two men and one woman had become so personal with Shane Douglas literally looking to steal Torrie Wilson's managerial sercives away from Torrie's own boyfriend, Billy Kidman, and with the winner of this one walking out with Torrie as his manager for the rest of the year, emotions ran high right from the get-go. Kidman, who has looked like a man without confidence lately, seemed to have found a little bit of confidence deep down as he had Douglas reeling early on in this one, much to Torrie's delight at ringside. But Kidman's early flurry did not last, and the longer the match went the more the confidence seemed to drain out of him again. Still, to his credit, Kidman kept fighting, regardless of how many taunts "The Franchise" sent his way--or perhaps because of them. The crucial moment of this one came when Douglas was down on the mat and Kidman opted to go for the Shooting Star Press...but missed it as Douglas rolled out of the way! Douglas then pulled Kidman to his feet and hit the Pittsburgh Plunge. With Kidman down and out, Douglas took his sweet time claiming Torrie Wilson's contract and winning the match, and Torrie's managerial services, while Torrie could do nothing but watch in horror as her worst fears became reality in front of her eyes.

Shane Douglas defeated Billy Kidman at 10.24 when Douglas retrieved Torrie Wilson's contract. Shane Douglas wins Torrie's managerial services for the rest of the year (D+)

The match is over and Torrie's first instinct is to check on Kidman in the ring. She can't though, as Douglas takes her by the hand and leads her away from the ring, but not before telling Kidman that "that's how it's done". Douglas then heads toward the back, dragging a very sad and unhappy looking Torrie Wilson along with him as Tony, Mike and Dusty all agree that this is the last thing that Torrie or Billy Kidman deserves (D-)

This one was always going to be a wild and out of control brawl, given the nature of the rivalry, and the match was exactly that. More often than not, all six men were involved in the action at the same time, and when the referee finally managed to restore order it usually did not last very long. The Three worked well together, but so did the brand new Tag Team Champions, and Brian Lawler seemed to be a good fit with Sons of the South as well. It was an even match that eventually broke down (again), creating a situation where Samoa Joe and Brian Lawler were going at it on one side of the ring, John Cena and BG James on the other side, while Dustin Rhodes and Ken Anderson were left to battle it out in the ring. Dustin Rhodes was then able to catch Anderson with a Bulldog from the second rope, which was enough for the three count and the win.

Sons of the South and Brian Lawler defeated The Three at 10.53 by pinfall when Rhodes pinned Anderson following a Bulldog from the second rope (C-)

Following the match both John Cena and Samoa Joe seems to be confronting Ken Anderson about getting pinned and causing The Three to lose the match. It is obvious that they are not happy with Anderson's performance, but nothing more comes of it as The Three eventually leave ringside, all of them visibly frustrated at the loss.

WCW Cruiserweight Championship Open Challenge Match

Chavo Guerrero Jr.'s Open Challenge continued at Bash At The Beach as Aguila was revealed to the Chavo's mystery opponent, making his WCW debut. As one would expect from a Cruiserweight Championship match, this one was a fast paced contest where Aguila was able to showcase his high-flying abilities on more than one occasion, forcing Chavo out of the ring on several different occasions when the champion took a much needed breather. Realizing that Aguila may have the advantage in terms of quickness, Chavo looked to slow the pace of the match, making it a much more mat-based wrestling match, which certainly favored the champion more than the challenger. The match eventually spilled out of the ring when Aguila climbed the turnbuckle and hit an impressive diving splash, that drew a huge pop from the crowd, on Chavo, who was taking another breather outside the ring. Both men were down as the referee started counting, and both men were back to their feet at the count of seven. Chavo then grabbed Aguila and drove him back first into the guardrail, and the Cruiserweight Champion then rolled back into the ring just before the count of ten, picking up the count-out victory.

As Chavo Guerrero Jr. celebrates yet another successful Cruiserweight Championship title defense in the ring, we cut to the back where the WCW World Heavyweight Champion is standing by.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ShawnMichaels.jpg

In the back, Shawn Michaels stands in front of the camera wearing an nWo shirt and with the WCW World Title slung across his shoulder. He talks about what happened at the end of this past edition of Monday Nitro when he came face to face in the ring with Sting and the entire building went crazy. He says that a lot of people consider Shawn Michaels versus Sting to be a dream match, one that many people thought would never happen. But they're wrong. It's not a dream match because a dream match has to be open. It has to be even, and both men have to have a shot at winning it. And that's the problem because Sting isn't even in Shawn's league and that is why it cannot possibly be a dream match. Shawn says that Sting, DDP and Booker T think themselves a threat to the nWo, but they're only kidding themselves. The fact of the matter is that the nWo is running the show around here and they are going to prove it again tonight by not only winning out there in the ring tonight, but by dominating! (B-)

WCW United States Championship Number One Contenders Match

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/SeanOHaire2001.jpgvs.http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ChrisKanyon4.jpg

This could very well be a future pay per view main event match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, but tonight it was for a shot at Scott Hall's US Title tomorrow night on Nitro. The announcers mentioned the notable absence of Ric Flair by Sean O'Haire's side, and they wondered if it was simply do to the fact that Flair is scheduled to compete later tonight, or if perhaps it was due to the recent disagreements between the two. Whatever the case was, O'Haire didn't seem to be missing The Nature Boy too much as he was the first to gain any kind of extended advantage in this one. O'Haire might not be the most refined wrestler yet, but he possesses more than enough raw power to make up for it as he used brute force to dominate Kanyon early on. Following his strong start, O'Haire even went for the Seanton Bomb, but Kanyon was able to avoid it and that allowed him to finally work his way back into the match. From that point on it was a very even match, one that spilled outside the ring for a few moments where O'Haire sent Kanyon back first into the guard rail, but Kanyon managed to strike back by driving O'Haire's head into the apron of the ring. The match eventually ended up back in the ring again where it continued to be a back and forth affair, but then....

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/MikeSanders.jpg

Sean O'Haire fellow Natural Born Thriller member, Mike Sanders, suddenly made his way down to ringside to boos from the crowd. It didn't take long for Sanders to get involved in the match as he jumped onto the apron when the referee's back was turned and....MIKE SANDERS JUST NAILED SEAN O'HAIRE!!!! As the announcers discussed whether it was an accident as it appeared that Sanders was aiming for Kanyon, Sean O'Haire staggered right into a Kanyon Cutter as Kanyon picked up the win.

Kanyon defeated Sean O'Haire at 12.57 by pinfall following a Kanyon Cutter after botched(?) interference by Mike Sanders. Kanyon is the number one contender to the WCW United States Championship ©

The match is over and Mike Sanders enters the ring with a stunned expression on his face. Sanders then moves over and starts to help Sean O'Haire up off the floor as the announcers all agree that Sanders did hit O'Haire by accident--or did he?!? Once Sanders gets O'Haire back to his feet, he grabs him and hits his finisher, the 3.0 (Inverted headlock backbreaker) on O'Haire! Mike Sanders just laid out his own stablemate!!!! ©

We then cut to the announce table where Tony, Mike and Dusty talks about what just happened in the ring with Mike Sanders turning on Sean O'Haire, and they all agree that they can't wait to hear what Sanders has to say about all of this tomorrow night on Monday Nitro.

Two weeks ago on the first ever "Fans' Choice" Monday Nitro, these three men had the chance to receive a World Title shot against Shawn Michaels, depending on who the fans voted for. Rey Misterio Jr. won that vote, and both Flair and Steiner were quick to voice their outrage at that, which is what led us to this three way match tonight at Bash At The Beach. In truth, it was more of a two on one handicap match early on as Steiner and Flair teamed up to take their frustrations out on Rey Misterio, but it wasn't long before "The Dirtiest Player In The Game" lived up to his name by hitting a low-blow on his temporary ally, Scott Steiner, and rolling him up, but Steiner kicked out at one and a half. From that point on the match was truly a three way match, the way it was supposed to be, though it was mostly with Rey on the outside early on as either Steiner or Flair kept knocking him off the apron every tme he tried to enter the ring. Rey finally managed to make his way to the top rope and hit a splash that took out both Steiner and Flair and finally allowed Rey to get some offense in. The pace of the match quickened and both Steiner and Flair had a hard time keeping up with Misterio, who was flying around all over the place, much to the delight of the fans, who were firmly behind Rey in this one. Rey finished off his impressive flurry with a top rope splash on Flair, but The Nature Boy managed to kick out after two and then Steiner clubbed Rey in the back of his head, putting an end to Rey's offensive streak. Steiner hit a pair of belly to belly suplexes on Rey, only to be chop blocked from behind by Flair. Flair then went to work on Steiner legs, setting him up for what everyone knew was coming; the Figure Four Leglock. Flair had it locked in but Steiner refused to tap, and the hold was eventually broken up as Rey Misterio flew in with a Springboard Moonsault on Flair, which got Rey a two count. As Steiner got back to his feet, Rey went for the Springboard Hurricanrana, but Steiner countered it into a Steiner Flatliner!!! Steiner then locked Rey in the Steiner Recliner, and despite a valient effort to escape it, and with Flair still down, Rey was eventually left with no choice but to tap out as Steiner picked up a huge win in a great match.

Scott Steiner defeated Rey Misterio Jr. and Ric Flair at 14.50 by submission when Steiner forced Misterio to tap out to the Steiner Recliner (B)

Following that great match we cut backstage where the man called Sting is standing by.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sting3.jpg

Sting says that he heard what Shawn Michaels had to say earlier tonight, but Shawn couldn't possibly be more wrong. The days of the nWo running the show are definitely coming to an end, and they won't be ready for what he, DDP and Booker T are bringing to them tonight. Sting says that he, Booker and DDP vowed to put an end to the nWo, and they are very much men of their words. He says that Michaels, Nash and Hall are all going to find out that nothing lasts forever, nothing is "for life", not even the nWo...(B)

Special Guest Referee: Eric Bischoff

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpg

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BillGoldberg2.jpgvs.http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/JeffJarrett.jpgw/http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/CheerleaderMelissa.jpg

Making no attempt whatsoever to hide his bias, Eric Bischoff actually came to the ring alongside Jeff Jarrett and Cheerleader Melissa, but even then there was no hesitation from Goldberg as he marched down to the ring, despite the fact that everyoen knew he was walking into a stacked deck situation. As soon as the bell sounded, Goldberg charged at Jarrett, picked him up, forced him back into the corner and then proceeded to drive his shoulder into Jarrett's abdomen repeatedly, driving the air from Double J's lungs. Bischoff was quick to admonish Goldberg, warning him to break before five or else. Goldberg irish whipped Jarrett across the ring with such force that Jarrett collapsed in a heap after hitting the turnbuckle and it was all Goldberg early on in this one. The thing that finally halted Goldberg's onslaught was when Cheerleader Melissa slipped Jarrett his guitar and Jarrett proceeded to smash the guitar across Goldberg's head right in front of the referee, Eric Bischoff....who saw no reason at all to disqualify Jarrett, drawing a ton of boos from the crowd. The Chosen One was finally able to build some momentum after that as he began to slowly wear Goldberg down using a variety of submission moves aimed at Goldberg's legs. Jarrett then instructed Melissa to get a second guitar, and Jarrett followed the order up by kicking Goldberg right between the legs, again right in front of Eric Bischoff, who again did not see any reason to DQ Jarrett--in fact, Bischoff was actually laughing about it. Melissa returned shortly after with another guitar in hand and Jarrett smashed that across Goldberg's head as well and then finally went for the cover

123---NO!!!! Even with the incredibly fast count by Eric Bischoff, Goldberg somehow managed to get his shoulder up before the three count. Jarrett couldn't believe it. Bischoff certainly couldn't believe it, but he quickly instructed Jarrett to stay on Goldberg. Cheerleader Melissa grabbed a steel chair at ringside and slid it into the ring. Jarrett picked it up and aimed it right at Goldberg's head.....SPEAR!!!!! From out of nowhere Goldberg charged across the ring and Speared Jarrett as the steel chair went flying. Goldberg then covered Jarrett....

....

....

....

But Bischoff refused to count. Goldberg got back to his feet and confronted Bischoff, who told him that there was no way Goldberg was going to win this match because Bischoff was never going to count the pin. Enraged, Goldberg picked Jarrett up and....JACKHAMMER!!! Goldberg covered again, but again Bischoff was flat out refusing to count. Goldberg got in Bischoff's face again and for a moment it looked like he was about to take the boss out, but instead he turned his attention to Jarrett again and locked in a triangle choke, putting so much pressure on Jarrett that he had no choice but to tap out....but Bischoff still wasn't calling for the bell. Even Cheerleader Melissa was asking for Bischoff to ring the bell and finally, realizing that at this point Jarrett would never be able to win the match, Bischoff reluctantly called for the bell.

Goldberg defeated Jeff Jarrett at 13.50 by submission when Jarrett tapped out to the triangle choke (B)

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/EricBischoff3.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BillGoldberg2.jpg

As Eric Bischoff stands in the corner of the ring, shaking his head in disgust as Goldberg once again managed to overcome the obstacles Bischoff had put in front of him, Goldberg suddenly turns his attention to the owner of WCW, staring at him from across the ring. Bischoff starts to remind Goldberg who he is, but he doesn't even get half the words out before Goldberg charges across the ring and....SPEAR!!!!! GOLDBERG JUST SPEARED THE OWNER OF WCW!!! The entire building is going absolutely crazy and Tony Schiavone notes that the Spear was what started this whole thing between Bischoff and Goldberg several months ago when Goldberg accidentally speared Bischoff during a match. The crowd is chanting Goldberg's name, but Tony, Mike and Dusty all agree that this is going to have some serious consequences for Goldberg (B+)

We then cut back to the announce table where Tony, Mike and Dusty talks about Goldberg spearing Eric Bischoff moments ago, saying that while Bischoff definitely had it coming, and while you can't blame Goldberg for being fed up, it probably wasn't the smartest thing he could have done because now Bischoff is really going to have it in for him even more than he already did. They then change gears as coming up next, the nWo faces off against Sting, Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T in a huge six man tag team match!

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ShawnMichaels.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/KevinNash2002.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/ScottHall2.jpgvs.http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/Sting3.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/DiamondDallasPage.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/BookerT.jpg

There was a ton of heat between these six men heading into this one and it did not take long for that to show. Scott Hall and DDP started the match off, with Hall naturally kicking things off by throwing his toothpick in DDP's face. As Hall laughed at his own trademark antics, DDP glaced briefly at the audience and then knocked Hall on his ass with a huge right handed punch to the jaw, and from that moment the war was on. DDP dominated Hall for the next several minutes of the match while the announcers talked about the issues between DDP and Scott Hall that went all the way back to when WCW returned from hiatus, when Scott Hall returned to the company and reformed The Outsiders, with Kevin Nash stabbing DDP in the back in the process. Hall weathered the initial flurry from DDP, and when he finally saw the opening the jammed his thumb into DDP's eye and made the tag to the other half of The Outsiders, "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash. Nash didn't want any part of DDP, though, demanding instead that Page tag in Sting, while the announcers referenced the issues between Nash and Sting, going back to Sting's one month reign as owner of WCW when he stripped Nash of a World Title shot. Sting was more than happy to oblige, and DDP tagged him in.

Nash and Sting traded punches in the middle of the ring, with the bigger, stronger Nash gaining the upper hand. Nash forced Sting into the corner where he began to work him over with knees and elbows, before finally picking Sting up and sending his face first into the turnbuckle with the snake eyes. Nash and Hall maintained control of Sting for the next few minutes of the match, using frequent tags to wear Sting down while keeping him away from his allies. Finally Shawn Michaels tagged into the match for the first time. Instead of entering the ring, however, he climbed the turnbuckle and hit an elbow drop off the top rope on Sting and Shawn then called for the Sweet Chin Music! Shawn waited for Sting to get up and when he did, Shawn went for his trademark move....and missed! Sting was able to duck underneath the kick, grab Michaels and hit a neckbreaker to buy himself some valuable time. Both men were down for a while, but Shawn was the first to get back to his feet and he immediately went back to work on Sting--but Sting's blocked his punch! And again! AND AGAIN! Sting then began to unload on Michaels and the crowd rallied behind the Stinger and he fought his way back into the match, hitting two inverted atomic drops on Michaels before taking him down with a clothesline. Sting then made it to his corner and tagged in Booker T just as Michaels tagged in Scott Hall.

Booker T entered the ring completely fresh, but he was immediately met by both Nash and Hall as the referee finally completely lost control of the match. Booker hit a standing sidekick on Hall, then kicked Nash in the gut and hit a DDT. Diamond Dallas Page was in the ring as well and he clotheslined both himself and Shawn Michaels over the top rope and they both crashed to the floor outside the ring. Booker T and Kevin Nash exchanged punches in the ring, and while Nash was once again the bigger and stronger man, Booker T had speed and freshness on his side and he eventually gained the upper hand on "Big Sexy". Nash swung wildly at Booker, and missed, and Booker T grabbed Nash and drove him into the mat with the Bookend! Nash then rolled out of the ring and Booker T followed him, leaving Sting and Scott Hall as the only two men remaining in the ring.

With the referee distracted by the action outside the ring, Scott Hall reached into his trunks and pulled out the same pair of brass knuckles he had used in the past with such success. Hall put the brass knuckles on his right hand and then began to stalk Sting. Sting slowly turned around and.....BAM!!!! Hall just blasted Sting with the brass knuckles on his hand!!!! Sting went down in a heap and Hall began yelling at the referee to get his attention, and as the referee slid back into the ring, Hall went for the cover....

1....

2....

....3!!!!!----NO!!!!!!!!!!

Somehow, someway, Sting managed to kick out! Hall couldn't believe it and began arguing with the referee that it was a three count, but the referee maintained that it was only two. Frustrated, Hall pounded the mat, but then pulled Sting back to his feet and set him up for the Outsiders Edge....but Sting countered it with a backdrop! Both men got back to their feet and Hall swung wildly at Sting, but Sting ducked under, grabbed Hall from behind and hit the Scorpion Deathdrop!!! Visibly exhausted, Sting crawled into the cover...

1....

2....

....3!!!!!!

Sting, Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T defeated Scott Hall, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash at 16.17 when Sting pinned Hall following a Scorpion Deathdrop (B)

Bash At The Beach is finally up!

I do apologize for the almost ridiculous lateness of this, given the fact that I was fully expecting to have it up last weekend, but certain things happened that meant it just really couldn't be helped.

Anyway, as always feedback is most appreciated so if you have any, feel free to send it my way.

So is this a Sean O'Haire face turn?! I was surprised to see Kanyon go over him to be honest!!

As for The Three, I know their pop is probably still low but I still expected them to win!

Another excellent show, with lots of twists and surprises (at least for me) :D Good job man!

Apology accepted!

:D

Brilliant show, very well written!!

Looking forward to seeing the consequences on Nitro...

Thanks, man! Glad you liked it. And Nitro should be a good one :)

Mighty fine stuff! But why do you hate Kronik? lol. Can't wait to see where you go with some of the midcard feuds, especially the Shane/Torrie stuff, as well as Sanders giving O'Haire the boot.

Thanks, man! Your feedback is much appreciated. I'm glad your are enjoying some of the midcard stuff as it is something I really wanted to put a bit more emphasis on. As for me hating KroniK, all I can say is stay tuned....;)

Glad you enjoyed the show! Is this a Sean O'Haire face turn? All I can say is the same as above...stay tuned :D

I'll also say that way back when I originally planned the match I was definitely planning to have The Three go over in the six man tag, but certain circumstances changed (along with the fact that they're not quite as over as I would have liked them to be at this point) so I ended up have to revise my original plan.

Great show! Glad Chavo retained, but was sad that Kronik and O'Haire didn't win. Finally, finally WCW was successful over the NWO. Looking forward to seeing what's next!

Thanks, man. I felt it was time for WCW to get one over on the nWo and I thought this match was a good time to do it. Got some pretty cool things coming up as well.

WCW News And Notes

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t1/bigdaddycool2sweet/Euro%20Wrestling/WCW/WCWBashattheBeach.jpg

Bash At The Beach considered a success

The feeling backstage following the Bash At The Beach pay per view was that the event was a successful one. Pulling a 1.11 buyrate, Bash At The Beach 2002 became WCW's fifth most successful pay per view since the company's return from hiatus and upper management is said to be very happy with that number, especially considering that Bash At The Beach isn't one of WCW's top pay per views.

Backstage problems?

The word is that management has had to deal with several backstage incidents lately. From Ric Flair spreading rumors about Mike Awesome, to near-fights both between Davey Boy Smith and road agent Terry Taylor, as well as between Shane Douglas and Kanyon. Management is said to be cracking down on these issues, and the rumor is that fines have been issued to both Shane Douglas and Davey Boy Smith, while Ric Flair received a stern talking to as well. The general feeling is that the atmosphere in the locker room has greatly improved over the past year, and while these recent incidents are viewed as nothing more than a temporary setback, management is said to be determined to ensure that the entire roster is aware that this kind of behavior is not going to be tolerated.

Comings and goings

WCW has officially signed Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to a contract as a road agent. Steamboat is expected to start working as early as this upcoming Monday Nitro and management is said to be thrilled to have "The Dragon" on board. Also, as seen at Bash At The Beach, WCW has come to terms on a contract with the masked man Aguila. Aguila is said to have signed a written deal with the company and is seen as a valuable addition to WCW's cruiserweight division.

WCW has also recently said goodbye to two of its roster members as Sabu and Jushin Thunder Liger have both left the company. Both men had been working under time based pay per appearance contracts, and both contracts had expired. Jushin Thunder Liger, who is expected to return to Japan, was seen as having served his role well in helping out in the cruiserweight division and management was said to have been very happy with Liger's work. As for Sabu, while having had solid matches, especially with Chavo Guerrero Jr., the feeling was that management would rather focus on some of the younger talent on the roster and so Sabu's contract was not renewed.

Looking ahead to the Bash

With Bash At The Beach officially in the books, the next time WCW will be on pay per view is for the annual summer blockbuster known as The Great American Bash. The Great American Bash is one of WCW's biggest pay per views of the year and management is said to be planning a HUGE card with several big matches set to take place. A few of these matches are expected to be announced as early as this upcoming Monday Nitro, so don't forget to tune in and find out for yourself what's in store for the biggest event of the summer!
