Los Angeles Clippers: Instant Changes, Instant Hope? [2002-????]

Recommended Posts

Ahh, sweet! I literally had my normal fan reaction when I saw we drew the Spurs first, ughh  On a side note, I'm pretty sure that's the best run of games to end a season so far for the Clips. :D

Yeah, that might have been my best season-ending run yet. Ugh, the Spurs...check below for how this post-season came to a close.

Post-Season Report:

Thoughts – Congrats to Portland! YAY MVP GASOL! …..out of the playoffs in 4, but dammit we made it to the dance! 5 straight playoff appearances!

<hr>

Award Central:

No awards.

Thoughts – No draft picks for this season, but I have a ton for next year. This is gonna be fun......

Off-Season Report:

I was awarded a 3-Year Contract extension by the Owner. So I’ll be in charge for at least 3 more years!.....or until I bleed the franchise dry....that’s always an option.....

<hr>

Budget:

Total Salary: $64,795,125

Cap Room: ($9,195,125)

Budget Room: ($1,425,734)

Roster:

Center:

  • Jermaine O’Neal
  • Tony Battie

Power Forward:

  • Lamar Odom

Small Forward:

  • Amir Johnson

Shooting Guard:

  • Ricky Davis
  • Marquis Daniels
  • Dion Glover

Point Guard:

  • Andre Miller
  • J.R. Bremer
  • Frank Williams

Thoughts – Back-up PFs and SFs are mandatory this off-season, or a better SF since Amir is only Orange at the moment [has potential to become Green though]

Ouch, I'd definitely try to get a better SF. Maybe if the season starts slow and you wanna get good value for a 2nd round pick add that into the mix for some immediate depth. Or intentionally tank to get some awesome players in the draft, you deserve it at this point to get guys easier :D

<p>Nice team, man! Your PG and SG spots are still a little shaky but I think the depth is there. I like how you've stockpiled picks, too. Maybe try to get something from a team that sucks? </p><p> </p><p>

Looking at 2008, there were a ton of nice picks deep in the draft so hopefully it should turn out well.</p>

After that, either bench depth or the best available player to have a valuable piece for trades.</p>

As far as guys in the draft, Pekovic,Asik, Mario Chalmers, Mbah a Moute and DeAndre Jordan(not many of them after Asik are starter material on a Championship team most likely, but still) went in the 2nd round IRL. Also, if you just want a legit scorer you could get Michael Beasley <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Also, the Lopez brothers are in this year, a really quality draft year honestly. I'm not sure if that's just cause I actually know who 95% of the guys are finally or what, but I'm really excited for this!</p>

So I'd say Jermaine's fair game if you could get an equally good and younger player. He's certainly starter material still, but if you wanted to do a high profile deal I'd ship him before Odom as an example. Deng can be your starter for years, so I say definitely keep him. Really only him and Odom I'd keep for sure, though if Odom could be bundled into a deal for an absolute beast player I'd do that.</p>

Thanks for your opinions guys. I have actually saved the game, not done anything yet in regards to the draft....but I am going to not do anything for two days as I am thinking about doing another franchise at the same time as this one since I may be reaching the end of my tenure in Clippers Country.

I have made my decision....Starting Monday [08/12], I will be coming back to this Clippers' Dynasty with gusto....and I will also be starting a 1960s Dynasty as well. The team I picked? ......You'll have to either guess it right or wait until Monday :shrugs: :D:D:D
