SWOOP GOT SCREWED!

Tristram Day screwed Swoop McCarthy out the title, the company and the country.

That's what the headline read, and it was true last night was supposed to be the biggest night of my life I was supposed to win the RAW Television Championship, but that's not what happened at all.

Here's how it went down, I was backstage talking to Tristram.

Me:I'm not so sure about this whole not wrestling in Australia clause Monty wants in the contract.

Tristram:Swoop you gulible sucker, you know that stuff is all just Kayfabe, beside I already told you that tonight you're going to win with a dominating performance, so what are you worried about.

Me:Well okay if you say I have nothing to worry about, then I trust you.

That was probably my first mistake.

So the show came Friday, Week 1, January 2013.

My match against Montgomory Croft for the RAW Television title. I had the fans eating out of the palm of my hand, I was giving them a great show. I had just nailed Monty with my Running Powerslam and I gave the signal to the fans, they knew what was coming my patented legdrop, The Thunder from Down Under. Just then Tristram Day's music started playing he walked down past the ring over to the time keepers table, I hear him yell ring the bell. The bell rang, he said something to the ring announcer. The ring announce stood up and declared Montgomory Croft the winner via disqualification. I couldn't believe my ears. Then Tristram grabbed a mic and said, you thought you could make it big without me Swoop, thought you'd make it huge in America, well you should have read that contract you signed a little closer. Not only will you not be wrestling in Australia, you won't be wrestling anywhere, "Never Cross the Boss"!

So now I'm on my way to my agent so see just how bad this contract is, and if there is anyway that I can keep wrestling.

At the agent's office:

Agent:Well Swoop this contract prevents you from ever wrestling in Australia, it also prevents you from signing with any current wrestling promotions anywhere else in the world.

Me:So that's it then I'm finished I can never wrestle again. (almost breaking into tears)

Agent:I think there is a loophole here, the contract says you can't sign with a current promotion, but it doesn't say you can't start your own.

Me:That's great I'll start my own promotion right here in Western Australi...

Agent:You can't do that, you can't wrestle in Australia.

Me:Huh, you just said I could open my own.

Agent:You can, just not in Australia.

Me:Then where would I open one?

Agent:Will there is a very interesting escape clause here, I've never seen one like it, you are allowed to open a promotion in the Southwest region of the United States, but it also comes with some very strict rules for you to follow as well.

Me:What rules?

Agent:Well it seems at local level you can only hire guys with 0 popularity in the Southwest region, at small level you can hire active workers up to 9 popularity, once you hit regional you can hire up to 19 popularity, Cult sized you can hire up to the level of your promotions second highest popularity, once you hit national of above you're free to hire anyone you want, but you must declare war on any promotion at national or above in the US.

Me:What that's just crazy I won't do it.

Agent:Then your wrestling days are over.

Me:Can you book me a ticket to somewhere in the Southwest?

Agent:I know just the place and I'll have a friend of mine meet you when you arrive.

Me:Thanks.

Sunday, Week 1, January 2013

I arrive at the airport in Las Vegas, Nevada and see a woman holding a sign saying Swoop on it. I walk over to her and pull out my Sharpie and ask her what she'd like me to sign?

She says her name is Sara Silver and she's a friend of my agent's and that she is here to help me get around until I'm accustomed to things, evidently Las Vegas isn't like Western Australia.

Me:The first thing we need to do is let everyone know that I have arrived.

Me shouting in the airport:Finally Swoop McCarthy has come to Las Vegas!

Everyone is looking at me with really blank stares.

Sara:Ah Swoop, I don't know how to break it to you,but nobody here knows who you are. It took me hours yesterday to dig up any information about you at all after your agent called.

Me:What people don't know me?

Sara, winking at me:Not yet they don't, but they will soon. First though we need to get your company going. From what I found about you and what I know of America I think the Sports Entertainment product would be the best fit, with just some minor tweaks. 50% match ratio for events and 8,13,18 match length for events and 5,8,13 once we get TV.

Me:So did you hear the hiring rules?

Sara:Yes that's rough but I put a list together of top prospects.

While leaving the airport someone yelled to me, "Hey Loser the 1970's called they want their hair cut back". I was about to go over an pound the guy but Sara grabbed my arm and said, "Maybe we should do something to change up your image a bit, make it a bit more mainstream.

I agreed so off we went.

So we went to this really old barbershop when I walked in there were two old barbers at their chairs and a third old man sitting there debating pro wrestling and who was the greatest wrestler of all time. Names like Sam Keith, Sam Strong, Sean McFly, Jeremy Stone and Crippler Ray Kingman were thrown around. One of elderly barbers asked me what he could do for me. I told him I needed to revamp my look. He told me to hop up in the chair and asked what I did for a living.

Me:I am a professional wrestler.

Barber: Oh what your name?

Me: Swoo...

Barber: It doesn't matter what your name is.

Me:What?

Barber: Oh I'm just teasin with you.

Me: That was really go though you mind if I use that in my character?

Barber: Sure feel free to. Seriously though what is your name?

Me: Swoop McCarthy

Old man in the corner: Who in the blue hell is Swoop McCarthy?

Barber: I've never heard of you? Where do you wrestle?

Me: Well I used to wrestle in RAW in Australia, but now if I want to wrestle I have to do it here.

Barber:Oh are you joining IPW or maybe GSW?

Me: No I have to start my own promotion it's a long story.

Barber:Well we have nothing but time so tell away.

I told them the story afterwards they were all giving me ideas on what to do. So I asked them if they would like to be my creative team. They asked how much it paid and when I said I couldn't really afford to pay them they said they'd love to anyways.

Thursday, Week 2, January 2013

I just signed my announce Samuel Curran. Now off to my creative meeting at the barbershop.

Barber: Nice roster you have there, I'd say your franchise players are KC Glenn, Jamie Atherton, Canadian Crusher and Cerberus. You're the only next big thing on your roster, and the only hot prospect. Your show stoppers are KC Glenn, You, Slayer and Stuart Ferdinand. Finally your ring generals are KC Glenn, Slayer, You and Stuart Ferdinand.

Just then my cell phone rang it was my agent.

Agent: I have some more bad news Swoop, it appears that the name Swoop McCarthy that you were using in RAW is trademarked by them as is your Thunder from Down Under.

Me: That's fine I'll just use my real name, Micheal Rimming.

Barber, laughing out loud: Your real name is Micheal Rimming? I am really sorry to tell you this son, but you can't get over with the name Micheal Rimming.

Me: Well then what name will I use.

Old man in the corner: Why don't you call yourself Da Swoop?

Me: Da Swoop? Is that even English?

Old man in the corner: Nah it's really more so slang, but it will connect well with fans.

Me: Well then call me Da Swoop!

We also worked out some new finishing moves and more catchphrases for me to display later.

Da Swoop is going to carry the company with dat 92 Charisma!

You're both crazy Sara Silver is the one carrying this company. lol

Tuesday, Week 1, February 2013

I got a phone call from Monday Next today. He told me he had heard whispers around RAW that the reason for my screw job was because I had been because I'd been in talks with SWF and USPW about starting a career in America.

Monday: You know how Tristram is you shouldn't have been talking to those guys while you were still under your contract.

Me: Monday I was never in talks with anyone, much less SWF or USPW.

Monday: From what I heard is that a reliable source had leaked your talks to them with to Tristram. He was really angered by it. He's still really mad a month later it's like walking on egg shells around here. By the way I read about your first show nice job.

Me: Thanks, Monday.

Monday: It's too bad I can see them I'm sure they'd be fun to watch. You should think about putting them on the interwebs.

Me: I might just do that.

Monday: Well I have to go not, best of luck to you.

Me: Thanks again Monday.

So someone was spreading rumors that lead to me being in this position, but who and why? I could maybe see Monty Croft doing that, he was always afraid I'd steal his spotlight. If so he played on Tristram paranoia superbly. One thing is for sure I'm stuck where I'm at for now, but someday I'm going to make whoever is responsible for this pay.
