Another question to the vets

Recommended Posts

I started a new company in my game and signed a bunch a fighters and have run 3 cards and now I am trying to make some money. PPV was the way to go for me in another game so I have tried to do that again but each time, I get rejected from even the smallest PPV carriers.

I am sitting at 44.3% popularity and am wondering where do I need to be before they start being interested?

Thanks in advance

You can check the values yourself while editing the company values in-game. There you can change them at will. If you don't and want to play 'fair', take into account that - at 44% regional - all your current stars will long be retired before you get to that point. Even if you spam bi-weekly shows. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>That's not really true.</p><p> </p><p>

Your biggest problem will be bankruptcy.</p><p> </p><p>

Using the default data, KDM for example is pretty much completely impossible to not go bankrupt with unless you ship Sukarno to ALPHA-1...and even then Takeuchi and Li-Kong Ho aren't cheap.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

That said you could get from 44 to 80 in a year or two if you have good shows.</p>

<p>Bankrupcy isn't a problem at all imo. Book 3-fight cards and when they start asking too much, drop them. It's simple. Not realistic, but if you want to play by the game's 'rules', that's the way to do it imo.</p><p> </p><p>

And are you sure it goes that quickly? I seem to recall popularity only rising with .5% sometimes. Though that might've been TEW? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Anyhow: it does fairly slow in my estimation. But I haven't been playing with tiny companies for a long time. Or I gave them early PPV deals.</p>

<p>TLC is right. Seems like my perspective was a little coloured given I've played only WEFF in my last 5 games. If ever there was a hard mode, it'd be that promotion. Not in terms of staying alive but in terms of popularity gain. You basically start with ALL fighters at low regional level (25 pop max) and one of your champions with <strong>no Canadian popularity at all</strong> (how in God's name is that even possible? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> The champ's supposed to have fought in the promotion or she wouldn't be champ). Anyhow, in the upcoming db all these things have been tweaked to a logical level. It'll be easier to play WEFF then and rise more than .8%.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyhow, when playing WEFF in default you're actually better off hosting as many shows as possible to boost them, using different fighters if possible. If you can't afford that, have 3 fight shows. By the time you'll reach 50 pop, you will actually have need of your stars. Then again, if using the same ones as soon as they are available again, you will boost to fantastic in no time. But that route will have you potentially having money issues.</p>

honestly this is just my opinion here but making it to PPV shouldn't be that hard and different vendors should be allowed. Like for example Ustream and Axxess TV (formerly HD net). I usually make similar providers in my custom games and if you make them tiny or insignificant then you'll still make a little bit of money without fear of going bankrupt unless you have some seriously costly fighters on your roster

<p>Adam's just trying to reflect reality. It's actually quite hard to make it there, especially for pro wrestling promotions. But even for MMA it's not easy.</p><p> </p><p>

But I agree that in the game it shouldn't be hard, but like you say you can just create your own PPV carriers.</p>
