The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown:

World Champion Alberto Del Rio & Mark Henry vs. John Cena & Dolph Ziggler

The main event of tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown was announced earlier this week via a tweet sent out from the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T and will see the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio team up with the “World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry in a tag team match against the team of John Cena and Dolph Ziggler. Last week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown began with John Cena making his way to the ring for his first appearance on Friday Night SmackDown in over eight months and proclaiming, much to the delight of the WWE Universe in attendance, that Friday Night SmackDown was now his new home. Cena said that although he admittedly lost his Last Man Standing match to Brock Lesnar at last month’s Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, he decided it was time to leave Monday Night RAW due to the political alliances involving the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and her apparent assistant AJ Lee and their bias against him due to Cena’s unwillingness to pursue a romantic relationship with AJ Lee. Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, then came to the ring and indicated that the relationship between Del Rio and Rodriguez was still very healthy despite Alberto Del Rio fleeing the ring at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, just as he did at Wrestlemania two weeks ago, and allowing Rodriguez to suffer the Sharpshooter from the WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart. Mark Henry then joined Cena and Rodriguez in the ring and hit John Cena with the World’s Strongest Slam. Alberto Del Rio then appeared on the entrance-way smiling and handed Mark Henry an envelope, likely containing money, as a prize for Mark Henry after his attack on Cena. John Cena will therefore be looking for retribution in tonight’s tag team main event as well as hoping to gain an all-important victory over Del Rio and Mark Henry and build momentum heading into the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View later this month when he will challenge Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. In his eleven years in the WWE John Cena has held numerous accolades already including winning the prestigious Royal Rumble match on two occasions, in 2008 as well as earlier this year. John Cena is also a former Money in the Bank winner having won the Money in the Bank ladder match last summer and became the first person to fail to successfully cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase on the 1000th episode of Monday Night RAW last summer. John Cena is also a former two-time World Heavyweight Champion already and has won the WWE Championship on an incredible eleven separate occasions. Additionally, John Cena is a former three-time WWE United States Champion and has held the WWE Tag Team Championships on four different occasions with four different tag team partners, those being Shawn Michaels, Batista, David Otunga and the Miz. Cena’s partner tonight, Dolph Ziggler, is also a former Money in the Bank ladder match winner having won the SmackDown Money in the Bank ladder match last summer and successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase against Sheamus on Friday Night SmackDown back in February to begin his second reign as World Heavyweight Champion, which was ended by Alberto Del Rio back at Wrestlemania. Dolph Ziggler is also a former WWE United States Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion and held the WWE Tag Team Championships back in 2006 as part of the now defunct Spirit Squad.

Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel © vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Big E Langston

The WWE Intercontinental Championship will also be on the line tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as the WWE Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel will put his title on the line in a Triple Threat match against the “Fortunate Son” Ted DiBiase as well as Big E Langston.

The Rhodes Dynasty versus Primo and Epico

Also tonight on Friday Night SmackDown the Number One Contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships, the Rhodes Dynasty pairing of Cody Rhodes and Goldust, will be in action as they will take on the Puerto Rican duo of Primo and Epico. We learned last week on SmackDown that at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View later this month the Rhodes Dynasty will once again take on Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, collectively known as the Prime Time Players. The WWE Universe in attendance are likely to be fully behind the Rhodes Dynasty in this one.

The Big Show versus The Miz

The World’s Largest Athlete the Big Show will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as he will face the former WWE Champion the Miz. The WWE Universe in attendance are likely to be fully behind the Big Show in tonight’s match as both Superstars look to do all they can to impress the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T. This is a rematch from last week’s edition of SmackDown when the Big Show defeated the Miz in their first singles match against one another in over a year.

Christian versus Sheamus

Two former World Heavyweight Champions will go head to head tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as Christian, ever popular with the WWE Universe, will take on Sheamus.

Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Nicole Matthews

Finally, the WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn will be in non-title action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown as she will take on Nicole Matthews. At the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View Kaitlyn will once again put her Divas title on the line against Tamina.

Quick Picks:

World Champion Alberto Del Rio & Mark Henry vs. John Cena & Dolph Ziggler

Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel © vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Big E Langston

The Rhodes Dynasty versus Primo and Epico

The Big Show versus The Miz

WWE Friday Night SmackDown! (Live from American Bank Center (TX), 9,595 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Alicia Fox versus Rosa Mendes

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Alicia Fox defeated Rosa Mendes in 18:04 by pinfall with a Watch Yo Face. Hornswoggle accompanied Alicia Fox to ringside for this match, much to the delight of the WWE Universe in attendance, especially the younger ones. Hornswoggle offered vocal support to the former WWE Divas Champion Alicia Fox throughout the match which ultimately led to Alicia picking up the all-important victory over Rosa Mendes in this Divas contest.

Match Rating: F+

Pre-Show: The Uso’s versus Hunico and Camacho

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, The Uso's defeated Hunico & Camacho in 18:28 when Jey Uso defeated Camacho by pinfall with an Alley-Us. Alicia Fox returned to ringside to accompany the twin brother pairing of Jimmy and Jey Uso to the ring for this tag team match. Just as Hornswoggle did for her earlier in the evening, Alicia Fox offered vocal support to both Jimmy and Jey Uso throughout the match which ended after Jey pinned Camacho following a great double team manouvre.

Match Rating: E+

Pre-Show: R-Truth versus JTG

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, R-Truth defeated JTG in 17:55 by pinfall with a Corkscrew Scissors Kick. R-Truth and JTG have great chemistry as opponents and it showed in their performances here tonight.

Match Rating: D-

Friday Night SmackDown begins with the World Heavyweight Champion, Alberto Del Rio, making his way to the ring. As always, Del Rio is flanked by his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez. Once in the ring Ricardo Rodriguez is quick to retrieve a microphone from the ringside area and hand it to his employer Del Rio. Alberto Del Rio, to a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe in attendance, says that last week John Cena came to Friday Night SmackDown because he couldn’t handle getting beat time and time again on Monday Night RAW. Del Rio says that John Cena lost the main event of Wrestlemania to the WWE Champion CM Punk fair and square, and that there was also no cheating from Brock Lesnar when Lesnar destroyed Cena in their Last Man Standing match at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View last month. Del Rio says that John Cena blaming his losses on politics and the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as well as her assistant AJ Lee is just pathetic. Del Rio continues by saying that the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T showed a lack of a backbone by welcoming Cena back to SmackDown with open arms and immediately handing him a shot a the World title at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View later this month. John Cena then joins Del Rio in the ring and calmly tells him that he will beat him at Over the Limit to become the new World Champion and that he will also beat him in tonight’s tag team main event. Del Rio and Rodriguez then skulk to the back as SmackDown heads to a commercial break.

Rating: B-

Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn versus Nicole Matthews

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Kaitlyn defeated Nicole Matthews in 7:36 by pinfall with a Spear. The Friday Night SmackDown commentary team of Josh Mathews, Joey Styles and Matt Striker note that Kaitlyn will put the Divas title on the line against Tamina again at Over the Limit.

Match Rating: E+

Following her victory the Divas Champion Kaitlyn celebrates in the ring until Tamina and Layla come to the entrance-way. Tamina has a microphone and says that she and Layla are better than Kaitlyn and Alicia Fox and all the other Divas and that at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View Kaitlyn will lose her Divas title to Tamina.

Rating: D+

The Rhodes Dynasty versus Primo and Epico

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, The Rhodes Dynasty defeated Primo & Epico in 8:16 when Cody Rhodes defeated Epico by pinfall with a Cross Rhodes. Instead of the beautiful Rosa Mendes, Primo and Epico were tonight accompanied to the ring by a little man dressed in a bull costume that the commentary team noted was called El Torito. Despite El Torito’s presence, the Rhodes Dynasty got the win here.

Match Rating: D

We cut backstage to find the Prime Time Players, Titus O’Neil and Darren Young, in the office of the SmackDown General Manager Booker T. The General Manager announces that if the Prime Time Players can defeat the Rhodes Dynasty at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View then they will replace them as the new Number One Contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships. O’Neil and Young seem happy as they leave the office as SmackDown cuts to a commercial break.

Rating: C-

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel © versus Ted DiBiase versus Big E Langston

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Big E Langston defeated Curtis Axel and Ted DiBiase in 7:58 when Big E Langston defeated Curtis Axel by pinfall with a Big Ending. Big E Langston wins the WWE Intercontinental title. Paul Heyman mysteriously accompanied Curtis Axel to the ring for this one which saw a new Intercontinental Champion crowned.

Match Rating: D

Big Show is backstage when Johnny Curtis walks into the room. Curtis stares at Big Show, and Big Show asks him what he wants. Curtis then tells Big Show that it’s not Curtis anymore, his new name is Fandango. Fandango then slaps Big Show and Big Show charges at Fandango who runs away. Big Show has to be restrained by other members of the locker-room, Braden Walker, Byron Saxton, Hunico, Camacho, Damien Sandow and David Otunga. Big Show shouts that he wants Fandango in a match.

Rating: C-

Big Show versus The Miz

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Big Show defeated The Miz in 8:25 by pinfall with a Knock Out Punch. The Miz is improving in Performance skills but was still the victim here tonight.

Match Rating: C-

A beautiful woman is backstage when Mark Henry asks her what her name is. She says her name is Summer Rae. Mark Henry asks her if she will go out on a date with him after the show, and she smiles.

Rating: D

We cut to another backstage area where we find Kofi Kingston walking down a corridor when he is attacked from behind by Wade Barrett. Barrett hits Kingston with the Bullhammer Elbow before fleeing the scene.

Rating: C-

Christian versus Sheamus

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Sheamus defeated Christian in 8:12 by pinfall with a Brogue Kick. Sheamus and Christian don’t seem to click as opponents unfortunately and it made for an awkward bout.

Match Rating: C-

Backstage Dolph Ziggler is preparing for tonight’s main event when Mark Henry walks into the room. Henry tells Ziggler that he’s heard from Booker T that they will be facing one another one on one at Over the Limit.

Rating: B-

We cut to another backstage area where Rey Mysterio is talking to Sin Cara until the 3MB pairing of Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre attack the high-flyers. Slater & McIntyre throw Mysterio and Cara into a steel door before running away.

Rating: E+

World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio and Mark Henry versus John Cena and Dolph Ziggler

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, John Cena and Dolph Ziggler defeated Alberto Del Rio and Mark Henry in 13:04 when John Cena defeated Alberto Del Rio by submission with an STF. At the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View later this month Alberto Del Rio will of course put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against John Cena. The challenger built great momentum with tonight’s tag team victory.

Match Rating: C+

Post-Show: The Great Khali versus Rene Dupree

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, The Great Khali defeated René Duprée in 13:01 by pinfall with a Punjabi Plunge. The Great Khali was really off his game tonight.

Match Rating: E+

Post-Show: Ezekiel Jackson versus Jinder Mahal

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Jinder Mahal defeated Ezekiel Jackson in 12:41 by pinfall with a Karachi Valley Driver. Ezekiel and Jinder just don’t click at all as opponents, and it showed in their performances.

Cameron came back out for this match as she accompanied Alexander Rusev and Marcus Owens to ringside. Match Rating: D-

Pre-Show: Xavier Woods versus Chavo Guerrero

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Xavier Woods defeated Chavo Guerrero in 17:45 by pinfall with a Hammerlock DDT. This match was too long given who was involved with the WWE Universe in attendance still not knowing much about Xavier Woods.

Match Rating: D-

Monday Night RAW kicks off how it so often does, with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring. Punk receives a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe in attendance as he retrieves a microphone from the ringside area. CM Punk says that the only reason that Kane is receiving a shot at his WWE Championship at the upcoming Over the Limit Pay-Per-View later this month is because of the weird and sick relationship that Kane used to have with AJ Lee, who is now a good friend and associate of the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Punk says that despite there being so much politics going on at the moment, all of it bias against him, he will still defeat Kane at Over the Limit and once again retain his WWE Championship, continuing his historic Championship reign. CM Punk also says that in tonight’s non-title main event he will once again defeat Daniel Bryan, just as he and Brock Lesnar defeated the Team Hell No pairing of Kane and Daniel Bryan in last week’s tag team main event. Punk says that since Daniel Bryan and Kane returned to RAW following several months only competing on Friday Night SmackDown Punk has beat them both more times than he cares to remember. Brock Lesnar, another client of Paul Heyman along with CM Punk, then joins Punk in the ring. Lesnar says that he will defeat Chris Jericho at Over the Limit. Punk and Lesnar then leave the ring together as RAW heads to a commercial break.

Rating: B

The Monday Night RAW commentary team of Michael Cole, Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler announce that the winner of this match will face AJ Lee at Over the Limit with the winner going on to become the Number One Contender to the Divas title.

Match Rating: E+

Following her victory Brie Bella is joined in the ring by her twin sister Nikki and the pair celebrate until AJ Lee comes to the entrance-way, joined by Tamina. AJ tells Brie that she will beat her at Over the Limit, and her friend Tamina will also beat Kaitlyn at Over the Limit to win the Divas title.

Rating: D

Batista and Mason Ryan versus Kings of Wrestling

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Kings of Wrestling defeated Batista & Mason Ryan in 9:20 when Antonio Cesaro defeated Batista by pinfall with a K.R.S.O.N.E. Batista was really off his game tonight and the “Animal” hasn’t really looked the same since returning back in February. Batista let his team down tonight which allowed Cesaro to pin Batista to win the match.

Match Rating: D-

We cut backstage to find the WWE Champion CM Punk in the locker-room preparing for tonight’s main event when Kane rushes into the room. Kane grabs Punk by the throat, pushes him up to the lockers and says that at Over the Limit he will defeat Punk to become the new WWE Champion.

Rating: C+

Non-Title: WWE United States Champion Dean Ambrose versus Santino Marella

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Dean Ambrose defeated Santino Marella in 8:31 by pinfall with a Headlock Driver. Michael Cole notes that Dean Ambrose has been really impressive since becoming US Champion earlier this year but Jerry “The King” Lawler says that he will have his work cut out for him when he puts his title on the line in a Triple Threat match against both Santino and Zack Ryder at Over the Limit.

Match Rating: C

Rating: D-

WWE Tag Team Champion Roman Reigns versus Brodus Clay

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Roman Reigns defeated Brodus Clay in 8:15 by submission. This match suffered from a lack of psychology, it could have really used someone with the knowledge of how to construct a proper flow.

Match Rating: C-

Bray Wyatt comes to the ring and announces that at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View he will face Randy Orton and that later tonight we will be introduced to the new “Wyatt Family”. Orton comes to the ring and hits Wyatt with an RKO.

Rating: C

Chris Jericho versus Luke Harper

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Chris Jericho defeated Luke Harper in 8:01 by submission with a Walls of Jericho. Michael Cole says that we know Luke Harper is one member of the Wyatt Family, and Jerry “The King” Lawler question if there will be any others.

http://wrestlingnewsandviews.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/nxt.jpg

WWE NXT (Live from the Universal Sound Stage 21 (FL), 1,316 in Attendance)

NXT kicks off with the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes welcoming the television audience to the show as NXT’s sole announcer following Byron Saxton and William Regal, the former announce team of NXT, being called up to compete in front of the WWE Universe on the main WWE roster, where William Regal is now one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions along with Roman Reigns. The NXT Universe inside the almost sold out NXT Arena then come to their feet as the music of Christina Von Eerie hits the speakers and the Diva confidently struts her way to the ring. Von Eerie takes a microphone from the ringside area and says that she’s been around the blocks on NXT for a few months now and is yet to really make the impact that she had hoped for. Von Eerie continues that she came to NXT for one purpose, to impress the higher ups in the WWE management system, such as the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T, and ultimately earn the chance to compete in front of the WWE Universe on either Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown. Christina Von Eerie says that she is pleased that the NXT Commissioner Dusty Rhodes is giving the Divas matches on NXT and looks forward to watching the former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly in action in tonight’s opening contest against the debuting Sasha Banks in a few moments. Christina Von Eerie says that she cherishes the opportunity to study Kelly in tonight’s match and is also always watching both RAW and SmackDown and studying the Divas that she hopes to one day compete against. Christina Von Eerie says that she is a big fan of the WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn and looks forward to watching her defend her title later this month at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View against Tamina. Von Eerie also says that she was pleased to see the return of Nikki and Brie, the Bella Twins, just last night on Monday Night RAW and is excited to see AJ Lee take on Brie Bella at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View in what will be the first match that both Divas have competed in in over six months. However, Christina Von Eerie continues, she watches RAW and SmackDown and sees that the competitive Divas division is largely fueled by the Divas Championship. Christina Von Eerie says that, in her opinion, the only way to create a competitive Divas division on NXT is to introduce a NXT Women’s Championship. She says that all of the male competitors on NXT are clambering over one another to get a shot at the NXT Champion Seth Rollins and that she wants to see that sort of competitive nature amongst the females on NXT. In conclusion, Christina Von Eerie says, she is officially requesting that the NXT Commissioner Dusty Rhodes introduces a Championship for the female competitors on NXT. Christina Von Eerie looks towards Dusty Rhodes from his position on commentary and asks that he think about her proposal. Dusty nods his head and then the music of Maxine hits the arena and the Diva that many see as a bitch, Maxine, joins Christina Von Eerie in the ring. Maxine takes a microphone of her own from the ringside area and says that she agrees that it is about time that NXT introduce a title for the Divas to compete for, as she has been on NXT for years now, too long that she can care to remember, and has never been given the opportunity to challenge for a Championship. However, Maxine says that she disagrees with Christina Von Eerie that they are lucky to be given the opportunity to watch the former Divas Champion Kelly in action next, as Maxine says that Kelly has already been to the promised land of WWE and failed miserably so should not be here on NXT taking away the airtime of the up and coming Divas. Maxine says that she is not stupid and understands that with NXT only being an hour long there is only so much airtime to be given to the Divas so they can only have one Divas match a week. Maxine says that it is therefore unfair that Kelly is competing again tonight after she competed last week in a victory over Rain. Christina Von Eerie tells Maxine that she’s surprised she noticed what went on in the ring last week as she saw Maxine backstage trying but failing to seduce Justin Gabriel. Maxine looks embarrassed by this and storms to the back leaving Christina Von Eerie to also head to the back as NXT heads to a commercial break.

Rating: D

Kelly Kelly versus Sasha Banks

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Kelly Kelly defeated Sasha Banks in 8:30 by pinfall with a K2. When we came back from commercial break NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes introduced us back to NXT followed by the entrance of the former Divas Champion Kelly. The NXT Universe in attendance inside an almost sold out NXT Arena were firmly behind Kelly during this one which ended with Kelly picking up the all-important victory.

Match Rating: E-

CJ Parker versus Curt Hawkins

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Curt Hawkins defeated CJ Parker in 7:49 by pinfall with a Heat Seeking Elbow Drop. Curt Hawkins has experience of competing in front of the WWE Universe and showed it with a victory here.

Match Rating: E

Bo Dallas versus Justin Gabriel

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Justin Gabriel defeated Bo Dallas in 7:45 by pinfall with a 450 Splash. Justin Gabriel is trying to impress WWE management during his time on NXT and may have done so with a victory in tonight’s main event.

Following a commercial break WWE Superstars airs the RAW Rebound which recaps events from this past week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. The show began with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to the ring to a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe in attendance and complaining that the only reason Kane is challenging for the WWE Championship at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View later this month is because of Kane’s sick former relationship with AJ Lee, who is of course a close associate of the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Punk said that both Kane and his Team Hell No partner Daniel Bryan should go crawling back to Friday Night SmackDown as they will never be able to compete with Punk on RAW. CM Punk said that in the last few weeks he has beat Daniel Bryan more times than he cares to remember and that in RAW’s non-title main event he would beat Daniel Bryan again. Another of Paul Heyman’s clients, Brock Lesnar, then joined CM Punk in the ring and claimed that he will destroy Chris Jericho when they face one another at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View. Del Rio told the WWE Universe in attendance that John Cena has failed all year in his quests on Monday Night RAW and used the excuse of politics, AJ Lee and the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero as a reason to escape from the likes of Brock Lesnar and CM Punk. Del Rio said that Cena ran to the wrong place as even though SmackDown General Manager Booker T has unfairly given Cena a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View, Del Rio said he will beat him to retain his title. Cena then came to the entrance-way and said that he will leave Over the Limit as the new World Champion. In SmackDown’s tag team main event Cena and Dolph Ziggler defeated Del Rio and Mark Henry. WWE NXT (Live from the Universal Sound Stage 21 (FL), 1,375 in Attendance)

This week’s edition of NXT kicks off with a backstage segment with the NXT Commissioner, WWE Hall of Famer the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes pacing around his office. Dusty then looks directly into the camera and addresses the television audience, telling them that tonight’s edition of NXT, live from an almost sold out NXT Arena, will see the NXT Championship on the line as the NXT Champion Seth Rollins will put his NXT Championship on the line against the high-flying former WWE Tag Team Champion Justin Gabriel. On top of that, we will also see another former WWE Tag Team Champion in action as the “Prince of New York” Curt Hawkins will take on Conor O’Brian, who from this point forwards wants to be known as simply Konnor. Finally, Dusty Rhodes continues, tonight’s opening match will see the debut of Charlotte, the daughter of the WWE Hall of Famer Ric “The Nature Boy” Flair. Another NXT Diva, Rain, then walks into the locker-room leaving Dusty Rhodes looking extremely surprised. Dusty Rhodes asks Rain if there is anything that he can do for her, and Rain replies that she wants a match in front of the NXT Universe, and she wants it tonight. Dusty Rhodes tells her that it is simply not possible for her to compete tonight as he already has a stacked card and quite frankly there is only time for one Divas match per show. Rain tells Dusty Rhodes that since Kelly came to NXT she has been given matches on almost every episode of NXT, and competed last week as she defeated the debuting Sasha Banks. Rain reminds Dusty Rhodes that just last week on NXT whilst Dusty Rhodes was sitting on the commentary table announcing for NXT both Christina Von Eerie as well as Maxine agreed that the NXT Divas should have a Championship to compete for, and that Dusty seemed to acknowledge their request. Dusty says that he did acknowledge the request and in future weeks there will be news about not only a Womens Championship in NXT but also NXT Tag Team Championships. Rain tells Dusty that if he really cares about showcasing the Womens athletes on NXT then he should be giving matches to Rain, who can actually compete. Rain says that Charlotte is only getting an opportunity to compete tonight on NXT just because her father is Ric Flair, in the same way that Raquel Diaz got fast-tracked out of NXT and is now competing in front of the WWE Universe on Monday Night RAW only because her mother is the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Rain says that this sort of blatant nepotism makes her sick. Rain says that in the short time that she has spent in this company she is disgusted to have realized that your talents don’t seem to matter an awful lot, and that it’s not about what you know, but who you know, or who your parents are. Rain says that this is probably also the reason that Goldust got hired a few weeks ago after years in the wilderness and that now Goldust and Cody Rhodes are taking on the Prime Time Players this Sunday at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View with a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championships on the line. Dusty Rhodes then tells Rain that she has overstepped the line by talking about his family, and urges her to leave his office before she is removed from it by somebody else. Rain says that she isn’t scared of any body. She says that everybody is thinking it but she’s the only one brave enough to say it. Rain says that Charlotte shouldn’t be here, and If she wasn’t a Flair she wouldn’t be. As for Charlotte’s opponent tonight, Rain says that the only reason Kelly is on NXT is because she was having problems with Vickie Guerrero on Monday Night RAW and the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T wasn’t even interested in giving her any matches on SmackDown. Rain says that Kelly herself mentioned this, or rather complained like a little bitch about this, just a few weeks ago on SmackDown. Dusty Rhodes says that Kelly is a former WWE Divas Champion and that particular accolade should speak for itself. Dusty says that not only is he an Authority Figure on NXT, but he is a Legend and should be respected, as should the other talent he employs. Dusty tells Rain that she’s an arrogant little Diva with no reason to be because despite spending several years in this industry she’s yet to achieve anything. Rain says that Dusty is a pathetic old man, a puppet for the machine, and then leaves Dusty’s office. Dusty looks shocked as we cut to our first commercial break of the evening.

WWE Superstars (Live from Fisher Theater (IA), 2,018 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Emma versus Summer Rae

In an absolutely wretched bout that was devoid of action or heat, Summer Rae defeated Emma in 17:45 by submission. Emma was exhausted by the end of this match that went on for over seventeen minutes until Summer Rae eventually forced Emma to tap out to pick up the all-important victory in this Divas match. Emma’s lack of physical conditioning was very evident in this match and she is not used to competing in matches of this length considering that she spent the majority of last year competing in much shorter matches on NXT.

Match Rating: F

(Finlay thinks that Emma needs to be booked a little smarter and that she needs shorter matches as she was totally exposed by the length of this one.)

(Finlay also feels that Summer Rae needs to be booked a little smarter and that she needs shorter matches as she was also totally exposed by the length of this one.)

Following a commercial break WWE Superstars airs the RAW Rebound which recaps events from this past week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. The show began with the WWE Champion CM Punk making his way to a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe and once again complaining about being put in RAW’s non-title main event against Chris Jericho. Punk also said that the only reason that Kane is challenging him for the WWE Championship this Sunday at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View is the same reason that Kane’s Team Hell No tag team partner Daniel Bryan received a shot at the WWE Championship at last month’s Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, that being their past relationships with AJ Lee, a close associate of the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Punk said that he will still defeat Kane this Sunday to continue his historic title reign and that after this Sunday both Kane and Daniel Bryan should go back to Friday Night SmackDown. Another of Paul Heyman’s clients, Brock Lesnar, then joined Punk in the ring and proclaimed that he will defeat Chris Jericho this Sunday.

Further highlights are shown from this past week’s edition of Monday Night RAW including the segment when Daniel Bryan and Kane, collectively known as Team Hell No, made their way to the ring to a tremendous reception from the WWE Universe in attendance. Kane said that he will defeat CM Punk this Sunday at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View to become the new WWE Champion and Daniel Bryan said that he will defeat one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Roman Reigns, this Sunday. CM Punk then came to the entrance-way and claimed that he will retain his title this Sunday and was soon joined by Roman Reigns who proclaimed that he will defeat Daniel Bryan this Sunday. In RAW’s non-title main event of the evening CM Punk, with Paul Heyman at ringside, defeated Chris Jericho after forcing Jericho to tap out to the Anaconda Vice.

Match Rating: E-

Following another commercial break highlights are shown from last week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown as the show began with the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio making his way to the ring accompanied by his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez. Del Rio received a tirade of boos from the WWE Universe as he claimed that John Cena left Monday Night RAW not because of politics to do with the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero, but because he was a failure. Del Rio said that Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T should not have given Cena a title match this Sunday at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View. Cena then came to the entrance-way and told Del Rio that he will defeat him this Sunday. Later in the evening John Cena gave the new Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston a pep talk and wished him luck in his title rematch with Curtis Axel at Over the Limit. In the main event Del Rio defeated Big E Langston. A tweet is then shown from Booker T announcing tomorrow night’s tag team main event of Del Rio and Curtis Axel against Cena and Big E Langston.

Alberto Del Rio reiterates what he said last week, that John Cena came to SmackDown following months of failures on Monday Night RAW with his tail firmly between his legs and blaming everyone but himself. Del Rio said that Cena blamed AJ Lee and her politics with the Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero for his failures at Wrestlemania against CM Punk and at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View against Brock Lesnar but that he should be looking closer to home. Del Rio says that anybody with a losing streak in recent big matches as bad as Cena should not be handed a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship and that Booker T has made a big mistake in giving Cena a title shot. John Cena then comes to the ring, looks Del Rio firmly in the eyes and tells him that this Sunday at the Over the Limit Pay-Per-View his fortunes will change when he becomes the new World Champion.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bb/Over_the_Limit_Loo.png

The following contests are confirmed to take place at tonight’s WWE Over the Limit Pay-Per-View:

WWE Championship: CM Punk © versus Kane

The main event of tonight’s Over the Limit Pay-Per-View will see the WWE Champion CM Punk put his title on the line against Kane. CM Punk is currently the longest reigning Champion in the WWE and has held the WWE Championship for over eighteen months since becoming the new WWE Champion for the third time back at the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View in November of 2011. The WWE Universe will be hoping that Kane can finally win the title from Punk tonight.

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio © versus John Cena

Also tonight the World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as Alberto Del Rio will put his title up for grabs against John Cena. Del Rio defeated the former Champion Dolph Ziggler at Wrestlemania to begin his current reign as World Heavyweight Champion. John Cena moved to Friday Night SmackDown recently with hopes of changing his fortunes.

WWE United States Championship: Dean Ambrose © versus Santino Marella versus Zack Ryder

Dean Ambrose has been the United States Champion for many months and will look to once again continue his title reign tonight when he faces two challengers in Santino Marella and Zack Ryder in a Triple Threat match. The Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero keeps forcing Ambrose to defend his title against Santino and Ryder but Ambrose has done well to overcome the odds thus far.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Big E Langston © versus Curtis Axel

Two weeks ago on Friday Night SmackDown Big E Langston defeated Curtis Axel to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion and tonight, with Paul Heyman likely in his corner, Curtis Axel will receive his Championship rematch.

No. 1 Contenders Match: The Rhodes Dynasty versus New Age Outlaws versus Prime Time Players

The WWE Tag Team Champions are William Regal and Roman Reigns who became the new WWE Tag Team Champions a few months ago. However, last month on Monday Night RAW William Regal suffered a Hernia injury meaning that he has been unable to compete. Whilst Roman Reigns has been competing in singles matches until Regal recovers from his injury the Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T announced that last month at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View the winners of Cody Rhodes and Goldust versus the Prime Time Players would become new Number One Contenders. Cody and Goldust won that match but tonight they will have to put their Number One Contenders spots on the line in a Triple Threat tag team match against not only the Prime Time Players but also the returning New Age Outlaws.

WWE Tag Team Champion Roman Reigns versus Daniel Bryan

Roman Reigns, one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, has been competing in singles action for the past month or so following his tag team partner William Regal’s injury. Tonight Roman Reigns will take on Daniel Bryan.

Chris Jericho versus Brock Lesnar

Since both Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar made their returns to the WWE late last year they have been competing against one another, with Brock Lesnar being victorious against Jericho in every match they have had so far. Tonight these two Superstars will go one on one once again.

Randy Orton versus Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt made a huge impact a few weeks ago on Monday Night RAW when he debuted by attacking the former WWE Champion Randy Orton. The “Viper” Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt in a First Blood match at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View last month but the two will go head to head again tonight.

Batista versus Antonio Cesaro

The Monday Night RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero complained two weeks ago on RAW that since Batista made his return to the WWE Universe he has been disappointing. Earlier that night the Kings of Wrestling duo of Antonio Cesaro and Kassius Ohno defeated Batista and Mason Ryan but last week on RAW Batista and Ryan were able to beat Kings of Wrestling. Who will win the singles match tonight?

Dolph Ziggler versus Mark Henry

Dolph Ziggler failed in his contractually obligated rematch against Alberto Del Rio inside a Steel Cage for the World Heavyweight Championship last month at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View so tonight Dolph Ziggler will look to fight his way back into the World title picture with what would be an all-important victory over another former World Heavyweight Champion in Mark Henry.

Big Show versus Fandango

Two weeks ago on Friday Night SmackDown the former Johnny Curtis introduced himself to Big Show as Fandango, and said that he wanted to be called that name from now on. Fandango then slapped Big Show which led to Friday Night SmackDown General Manager Booker T making this match.

WWE Divas Championship: Kaitlyn © versus Tamina

The WWE Divas Championship will be on the line tonight as Kaitlyn will once again put the title on the line against Tamina. Kaitlyn defeated Tamina in a Submission match last month at Extreme Rules to retain the title and will look to do the same in a traditional title match tonight.

Brie Bella versus AJ Lee

Finally, Brie Bella and AJ Lee will face one another in singles competition tonight after weeks of AJ Lee talking down to the Bella Twins on Monday Night RAW. This will be the first time that either of these Divas have competed on Pay-Per-View this year.
