Mousasi is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Machida. Mousasi grabs Machida and pulls him into a grapple. Round two ends as time expires. The fans are booing after a really poor round.

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Machida.

Round 3

Round three begins! A left hand misses, allowing Machida to counter with a barrage of hard left hands, enough to put Mousasi down! Mousasi recovers his wits quickly, and waits for Machida to make a move. On his back, Mousasi can't do much to stop a kick to the leg. Machida tries to secure a ground position. Mousasi is too quick, slipping away from Machida and starting to scramble. Machida ends up in side control. Machida throws a few left hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Machida relinquishes side control and stands up, letting Mousasi stand too. An errant jab sets Machida up to counter-strike with an excellent combination. Moving in closer, Mousasi looks like he may want to try and clinch with Machida. Machida is pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. Using the clinch, Mousasi hits a vicious knee to the face! We pass the halfway mark of this round. Mousasi loses the Muay Thai clinch after a knee strike misses and gives Machida the opportunity to wrestle free. A straight right from Machida fails to land. Mousasi seems to be waiting for Machida to make a move. Breathing very hard, Lyoto Machida is looking ragged. We're into the final minute of the round. Mousasi looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Machida. Machida ends up grappling for supremacy with Mousasi. Mousasi is trying to push Machida so that his back is up against the cage. Mousasi does it, Machida is stuck with his back to the cage. Gegard Mousasi is breathing very hard. Mousasi tries to smother him against the cage with wrestling, but can't keep control of Machida who is fighting it. Round three is brought to an end as time runs out.

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Machida.

Round 4

Round four begins! From what we could hear of his corner, it sounds like Mousasi has been instructed to try and get Machida to the floor in this round. Both fighters throw strikes, no significant damage is inflicted by either. A tired-looking Mousasi throws a couple of ragged punches to get Machida to cover up, then tries a takedown. Mousasi can't get past the sprawl of Machida, and finds himself pushed face-down to the ground. Machida pounds away, the turtled up Mousasi is in serious trouble! Machida unloads with massive punches, Mousasi is getting destroyed! The referee jumps in and saves Mousasi from taking any more shots!

By TKO, the winner is Lyoto Machida!
