Your First Year (RtL)

Recommended Posts

Hey yo, FIN here. I just finished my first year in Rookie To Legend and I'm curious how other people have been doing in the game. I actually played the first year in 3hrs, bought the game right when I got back home from work and it's now 6.50AM  There's a neat end of the year screen with some info which gave me the inspiration for this. :)

Here's the stuff that you can copy/paste into your own post. So, how was your 2014-2015 in RtL?

Name:

Age:

Region:

Style:

Size:

Popularity:

Annual Recap:

Best Match:

Awards:

Power 500 Ranking:

Summary (in your own words):

-----------

Here's mine. :)

Name: Kiyoshi Shikei

Age: 19

Region: USA

Style: Puroresu (All-Around)

Size: Light Heavyweight

Popularity: Local Talent

Annual Recap: Took part in 12 storylines, 6 succesful and three failures. Match record was 38-7.

Best Match: New York Red def. Kiyoshi Shikei (13.51, **** stars)

Awards: Did not win any. lol

Power 500 Ranking: lol x 2

Summary (in your own words): Some skill stats: OR 300, SPI 300, STRE 650, STRI 600, GRA 500, GRO 450, SPE 490, STA 600, ATH 300. I'm really happy with the build-up troughout the year, I think I raised Speed from 150-200 to where it is now. Didn't really upgrade others during the year, at the start of course I did upgrade a lot. My attributes are Cardio Freak lvl1, Dozing Partner lvl3, Iron Will lvl1, Man Of Steel Reaction lvl1, Martyr Complex, Prima Donna Partner and Suicidal, Homicidal lvl3.

Storyline wise, I had a horrible first half but the latter one had 5/6 storylines as a success which peaked at the succesful 'Rise to the Occasion' storyline in December. That was amazing. Two most memorable storylines were 'New Blood' storyline against Leo Davis, I completely destroyed him in four matches in a row. Other one was my first 'Rise to the Occasion', I had two wins at the start but in the third one Roger Monteiro and I rolled outside and I was surprised that he went for a chair shot in the head. It was a normal match so I thought that I'd brace the impact which will cause him to DQ but the ref just gave him a stern warning. Monteiro rolled back in and I was counted out! I took revenge on Mark Smart in the next match, pummeling his head status to 0%. :p

All in all great first year, I'm really happy that I raised up in the popularity, I'm now a Local Talent!!. The last storyline was my second attempt at the Rise to the Occasion, against Crash Lewis, The Pilgrim and Tyson Gray. Really easy opponents but it was so intense in the end, Gray had me in my 25-30% and I was so so scared that I would lose that storyline yet again.

Annual Recap: Took part in 12 storylines, 5 successful, 4 failures, 3 neutral. Overall record 37-10

Best Match: Payne MacLeod defeated Gace Morin (14:29 ****)

Awards: Yeah, not.

Power 500 Ranking: 5000

Summary (in your own words): That sucked. First year was not really much fun, with losing at crucial times. Not one thing changed my Popularity, and I was bummed by that.

Attribute-wise, I bought a lot of Con ones, to get the points, then used the points to get the ones I wanted: Afraid to Fly, Boring!, Cannot Go Up Top, Choke Slam Chief (Lvl 1), Counterstriker (Lev 1), Crimson Mask (Lev 2) Dozing partner (Lev 2) Hands of Stone (Lev 1) Martyr Complex, Prima Donna Partner, Undead Reaction (Lev 2).

Best Match: Several 3 *s, but nothing higher.

Awards: Pffffft

Power 500 Ranking: Nope

Summary: It's really really weird fighting on the women's indy scene because almost every single match is against gens, some of which have very frustrating stat sets (670 strength, anyone?). A lot of people can also brace me which is irritating as anything when the bulk of your attacks are strikes. I also lost 1 match out of 4 several times, which was galling. The game liked to book me against someone called Elaine Sylvia, who has become my nemesis via being the only person who consistently beats me (which she does by having slightly above average stats in everything).

So it's been fun but urrrgh low levels are so unforgiving. It sucks to miss one move and then lose something like 60% of your health, and there are a few matches where I totally jobbed because I couldn't land a stomp or something. Still, I'm being very stubborn and refusing to get negative attributes just for extra points and building things up the slow way.

Kicking people around the ring is a lot of fun regardless. I'm pretty sure I have every available kick in my moveset.

Just finished my second year.

http://s15.postimg.org/ulke2f6bv/Nakamura.png

2014

Best Match: VS Saneatsu Shigemitsu (4 stars)

Awards: None

Power 500 Ranking: 0

Storyline History: 12 storylines, 1 success, 7 failures, 5 neutrals.

Match History: 48 Matches, 30 matches won, 18 matches lost.

Summary: I love my character. No grappling moves, everything he has is lower body strikes (normally to the head). The problem with the character is that if you meet someone that grapples way better than you and is able to brace your moves or dodge them, you're pretty much screwed. It also doesn't help my only finisher is the Punt Kick, which doesn't have the best chance of hitting.

Majority of storylines were "working on the Indepent Scene", but I also had one "New Blood" storyline, where I beat my opponent Saneatsu Shigemitsu in every single match we had until the fourth one (the only one that matters)!

Table matches are hard on this character, if I want to keep his gimmick anyways <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

2015

Best Match: VS Oniji Hanari (5 Star Match Of The Year Candidate)

Awards: None

Power 500 Ranking: 0

Storyline History: 13 storylines, 3 successes, 7 failures, 3 neutrals.

Match History: 48 Matches, 29 matches won, 19 matches lost.

Summary: How the hell did I get a 5 star match with easily the shittiest worker I have ever faced? I don't even remember the details. All I remember is that I faced this guy like 10 times and always beat him, and this time around he was just a take-no-prisoners no-surrender kind of guy. He was one of the two men that were actually able to kick out of my Punt Kick, and he did it twice (once normally, once in an event, the referee saw he had his foot under the ropes after the match was over)

For storylines, I again did "working on the scene" for most of them, did the New Blood one again (once again against Shigemitsu, but this time I won all four) and also "Open Challenge" (got my ass kicked in all of them, but managed a fall on top win against one of the guys)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQD3KzZU89Q

A very mediocre start, but I will not give up!

I took some fairly hefty penalties to increase my skills. With that I didn't have too much trouble on the indie scene and thus I was employed by QAW before the end of the year. I just tried a storyline to move up to the midcard...it didn't go well.

Oh right. Attribute Wise I didn't change anything other than adding the "Flamboyant Movement" flavor attribute. I didn't want to game the system by giving myself disadvantages this early in the game <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I'm also still unknown <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Best Match: Air Attack Weasel def. Kiyoshi Shikei (16.30, **** stars)

Awards: Still none.

Power 500 Ranking: Nope!

Summary (in your own words): I'm signed in MAW and CZCW, I actually rose to Indy Regular popularity for a while but in December I dropped back to Local Talent pop because I lost to Citizen X's Animalistic Spear in the final match of a storyline. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Skills-wise I've only improved Overall Rating and Spirit, with just few put into Speed. I also trademarked two moves for me, the Finishing Shikei Sprint Forearm and the Finishing Shikei Sleeper Hold. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> The key moves besides those have been Japanese Power DDT, Mounted Punch Flurry and Rear Crossface Blows. All in all a good year, the competition in CZCW is just way too tough for me, the main event guys are really good. But I managed to defeat Fox Mask and Citizen X once which is mindblowing.

Summary: I liked the idea of a big, bruising woman who kills b***ches dead. So I went with Puroreso Power. She totally dominated the local scene but loses out to better foreigners in three matches during the year. Awards: Still none.

Power 500 Ranking: Nope!

Summary (in your own words): Well. Interesting year. Best year thus far if you look at the match w/l statistics but it's because I dropped from CZCW. I think I started with Local Pop and fell into Unknown pop because of a lucky Citizen X win and also I got fired because of that storyline failure and that loss. I'm now in MAW and GSW doing really well, there aren't a lot of people matching me in skills at my level. Nate DeMarcus has been really troublesome opponent for me since he's above me in Strength. Slowly upgrading my speed and grappling to keep up with the faster wrestlers. Speed so that I can move/avoid their attacks better and grappling to diminish they chances of slipping out of my moves.

Let me first start off by saying the first thing i did was hit the editor for my first game. Boosted my stats to a level of a SWF/TCW wrestler would be and my popularity 1 peg. Choose to focus on getting some Attributes my first year and in particular my countering basics (all my basic counters have +5% by years end) as well as my wrestling start off with the normal Powerhouse Entertainer stuff. Wanted to make a Brock Lesnar type of character, good all around but focused more towards power and grappling ability. Lowest stat is 550(speed) and highest would be strength around 900.

Name: Larry Bruce

Age:22

Style: Entertainer

Size: Big Heavyweight

Popularity: Indy Star

Annual Recap: 12 story lines, 11 wins, 1 neutral. Undefeated in 48 matches and more or less squashing people still.

Best Match: **,the only wrestler that really have me a lot of trouble was Findlay O'Farraday in my first year, had a few close ones with him. Working MAW i was drastically bigger than most of the competition and once i moved to PSW in December i started facing there big slow giants who i quickly body scissored to death before working them over with massive strikes from the mount after devastating slam after slam.

Awards:none

Power 500 Ranking: #432, undefeated boosted it quite a bit i am guessing.

Summary (in your own words): might lower a stat or too once i get his Attributes right. I don't think he will be so over powered vs more known/better wrestlers.

DanielBryan, I'm just making sure: You do know that you get employed via the 'Employment' screen, not at the end of the month screen. I played the game for a bit without knowing this. Try to shoot for those storylines which raise up your popularity. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Power 500 Ranking: Nope

Summary: So I had to restart because of having the game open outside admin mode. I edited my stats back to where they were, played through the first year again (to more success) and this was my second year, though I suppose you could call it the fourth year of the character, technically speaking.

In any case I'm enormously frustrated because I made it to Local Talent and then get dropped down in December because I lost one match in a tables storyline that I had no business coming anywhere close to losing, and then AGAIN in the under pressure storyline. Lots of classic Wrespi frustrations rearing their head, like losing to a 200 COW move whilst still at 40% health and being bodied by someone who has considerably lower stats than me (which doesn't happen often, believe me). It is not fun losing to Bonnie Clyde in the knowledge that I had the maximum possible chance of breaking/avoiding/slipping out of almost all of her moves and then STILL have her land the face crusher the first time.

Back to the drawing board I guess.

Summary (in your own words): This was a long year. Every match aside from a few end of storyline gimmick matches were 2/3 falls which led to a lot of drama and excitement. I rose to local talent after August and then failed the next storyline (my favorite one too, Mexico vs. Great Britain) and was successful in the "Under Pressure" storyline in October. I signed as a low level talent for CILL in November and was successful in both of my stories there so far, including a back and forth feud with Mustang Blanco Jr., that I would like to think evolved from my "A Beginning..." storyline in CILL where I had a match of the year candidate match with him.

Year 3: 2016

Name: Bernice Stevenson

Summary: This year was incredibly boring. I spent the bulk of it bodying people with relative ease, but every one of my five losses came in the middle of a streak of successful storylines so I never won enough in a row to get the opportunity to rise in popularity. Had a couple of bizarre opponents in Lauren Easter and Amber Allen (Easter destroyed me, it sucked), because apparently NOTBPW can't keep hold of their women's division.

Otherwise it was just a whole lot of fighting and largely beating the same cadre of people, which kinda sucked on the whole. Couldn't even fight my nemesis because she got to Local Talent. Frustrated by the lack of good grades for matches - I had a match which had a good fifteen minutes of finisher reversals before the fall was scored and that was apparently boring, hmph...

In other news I decided to work on an attribute and picked up Cardio Freak. It has worked wonders for my habit of gassing and I don't think I've dropped into the red since I got it, which is pretty awesome. Very worth picking up, and I definitely made a couple of strides in stats... I just wish it wasn't on the same old damn indy scene.

Well I ended up starting over with a regular wrestler, pure athlete preset and it went much better for me. I'm just starting year 6 now and am employed by QAW (Main Event) and AAA (Midcard). Indy Star in the US and Indy regular in Canada. I won the QAW Queen of the ring title in July 2018 and am the QAW World Title Holder (Reign Quality Good; From September 2018).

I do have 2 trademarked finishers: one impact and one ground-leglock each with a COH of 300 and a COW of 900. With various bonuses I can come close to a 50% chance to hit these at the end of a match, which has been very helpful for racking up the wins. I will likely be sinking some more xp into my counter abilities to bring them all to level 2 as my next step. It may not work out for me as the opponents I now face in AAA seem to have equal or better stats than me. I can pretty much bulldoze anyone in QAW with the exception of one really good generated wrestler, Anna Bisping, a brawler who is becoming my nemesis. Unfortunately for me she is also employed by AAA.

I won the QAW Queen of the ring title in July 2018 and am the QAW World Title Holder (Reign Quality Good; From September 2018).

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p65/VBigB/wrespi1_zps91fb4b00.jpg

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p65/VBigB/wrespi2_zps74d414dd.jpg

WOW is all I have to say! Did you manage to get on the PWI 500 yet? Also, how were you able to make that avatar for your character; I gotta learn that! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Nope I'm still not on the Power 500. As far as the image goes, in this case I can't take credit. I'm fairly certain its a photo-shopped image of Mickie James which I "borrowed" from an earlier version of the 9000v (maybe way back at the version for TEW2008 as I can't seem to find it in the 2013 version). It is a neat filter. I haven't been able to come up with one that duplicates that effect on my own.

Crayon may know how it was done.

After multiple games with differents style of wrestlers, I finally finished my first year :

Name : Morihiro Fukuzawa

Age : 19

Region : Japan

Style : Psychopath (Brawling)

Size : Heavyweight

Popularity : Unknown (Japan)

Bio : Morihiro Fukuzawa is a young wrestler from Yamagata, Japan who discovered Puro (or rather "butchery") at the age of 16 years old when he assisted to a WEXXV event. "Attracted by blood", by his own words, and trained in boxing since his childhood he began his career in January 2014. Using a lot of upper body strike, such as his Fukuzawa Flash Lariat, and dirty tactics, his current goal is to join the japanese hardcore promotion and make a name by himself.

Annual recap : 3 success / 4 failures / 5 neutrals (Record : 35 - 13)

Best Match : Morihiro Fukuzawa def. Haruhiro Tsumemasa via Fukuzawa Flash Lariat in August 2014 (*** - 10:18)

Awards : None

Power 500 : Nope

Skills :

Overall : 350

Spirit : 300

Strength : 370

Striking : 600

Grappling : 50

Ground : 50

Speed : 150

Stamina : 300

Athleticism : 300

Attributes :

Afraid to Fly (Con)

Ragging Bull (Pro)

Respected Brawler Lvl 1 (Pro)

Summary : Not a great year, but not a bad one neither considering that I only wrestled single matches.

I chosed to stay at an unknown level for now, because I feel my character is still too green to have better success.

I plan to increase his Strength first ("Brace" is a very powerful defensive move at both the beginning and the end of the match), then a bit of Grappling, Ground and Speed to increase my chances to defends myself. But I'll let his Striking to 600 for now because of his Respected Brawler attribute which permits me to often have a 750+ offensive roll with Medium level upper strikes, while I use dirty choke holds to wear down my opponent's momentum. (Without forgetting to pummel my opponents to the ground with a chair when the referee is knocked down.)

In one hand, the only opponent that I have a lot of trouble to win against is Morisama Kato who is basically better than me in every stat except Striking, but that doesn't help me since it's not a stat used in defence. (4 of 5 "Neutral Results" thanks to him...)

On the other hand, I have some oponents that are basically "Enhancement Talent" for me like the aging and lame Oniji Hanari, two low overall and spirit rating rookies and lightweight workers that I usually dominate, my Respected Brawler capacity neutralizing their speed advantage.

Started a new game because the first game I started was in the trial patch and had many irreversible errors already in place like wrestlers having stats go over a thousand and so on. So here's my new save, first year done!

Year 1: End of the year for 2014

Name: Daniel Cavanagh

Age: 19

Region: Japan

Style: Technician

Size: Light Heavyweight

Popularity: Unknown

Annual Recap: 12 Storylines (5-5-2), Matches 40-7

Best Match: Daniel Cavanagh def. Morimasa Kato (15.07, *** stars)

Awards: -

Power 500 Ranking: -

Summary: First year done. I'm an American technician who's based in Japan. I have Grappling at 800, Ground 600, others at 300-350 except Striking 150. I'm loving the submission specialist approach, always attacking the most suitable body part. Japan has a lot of smaller wrestlers with high speed so I'm mainly destroying the legs.

Morimasa Kato gave me a lot of trouble during the year, I lost to him four times (I only lost 7 during the year) and one won against him. I also lost to Oniji Hanari in a tables match because there was a secondary goal I was trying to achieve and he put me trough a table with the first attempt. I was seriously pissed off after that.

I had only one Gut Check storyline where I could have jumped up in popularity but lost the first match to Haruhiro Tsumena. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

EDIT: Here's my attributes, Submission Specialist lvl 3 is awesome (any ground submission is 25% more likely to hit) and at max (I'm at full momentum, opponent breathing hard and at zero HP) it increases my finishing moves from 200 into 400 chance of hit or over <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Afraid To Fly

Cardio Freak lvl 1

Dozing Partner lvl 3

Fish Out of Water lvl 3

Martyr Complex

Matchstick Legs

Prima Donna Partner

Pure Grappler lvl 1

Submission Specialist lvl 3

Suicidal, Homicidal lvl 3

Takedown Machine lvl 1
