Recommended Posts

RULES

  1. Credit goes to The Curator/mistaken and The Final Countdown for the layout here.

  2. You have 3 votes to nominate , 1 for each category

  3. All non-Cornellverse diaries (both real world and fantasy) have been combined into a 'Mod' category.

  4. You may substitute your C-Verse nomination for a 2nd Mod nomination, or vice versa.

  5. Please place a link to the diary you are nominating.

  6. In the Monthly Spotlight category, you will single out a specific aspect of a diary that particularly impressed you over the course of the month, be it a match, show, angle, storyline, development of a character, etc.

  7. You may not nominate yourself

  8. All nominations must include a reason

  9. Nominations do NOT need a second. So, once a diary has been nominated PLEASE do NOT nominate it again!

  10. No Rookie DOTM this month so everyone qualifies for Cornellverse/Mod DOTM as long as there is one show in the current month.

  11. Monthly Spotlight: Minimum requirement of one show during the current month.

  12. Hall of Famers include: Monkeypox, Scapino1974, Tristram, Adam Ryland, Nevermore, Tigerkinney, KeefMoon, J Silver, James Casey, BigPapa42, Marcel Fromage, Reaper, Dragonmack, Eisen-verse, Self, Phantom Stranger, jhd1, The Final Countdown, angeldelayette, NoNeck, 20LEgend, michgcs and MJStark.

  13. A vote for yourself is an automatic disqualification.

  14. You may NOT nominate SWF: Where Men Become LEGENDS by Eisen-verse for Cornellverse DOTM

  15. You may NOT nominate WWF: The Golden Age...and beyond? by The Final Countdown for Mod DOTM

  16. You may NOT nominate WWF: The Golden Age...and beyond? by The Final Countdown for Monthly Spotlight DOTM

  17. The hope is to update this at least once a day.

Whoops, guess this one slipped through the cracks. I'll get the ball rolling by nominating <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=527041" rel="external nofollow">tHw: Jeff Jarrett's last chance</a> by Matt for Mod DOTM. This is an interesting take on a present day startup company, with a realistic roster that Matt utilizes extremely well. If Jarrett's actual new venture closely resembled this diary, I'd be a faithful viewer!

<p>I would like to nominate CharlieCornell's WWE 2014 diary for MOD DOTM...</p><p> </p><p>

The graphics are excellent, and I really like the overall presentation. But the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was a real highlight! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Let me go ahead and be the first to nominate <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=527409" rel="external nofollow">Bragging Rights: WWF vs. WCW 1991</a>. Two talented writers on the scene with some good storylines at their disposal will be a win for everyone.</p><p> </p><p>

I shall also do a brutha a solid and nominate <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=527275" rel="external nofollow">WWF/E 2002: Brand Warfare</a> by Smasher. While his first show stayed pretty true to life, there's a lot of room to grow, and hopefully this nomination will net him some onlookers for the future.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll come back with a Monthly Spotlight as soon as I run upon something that really catches my attention.</p>

<p>I'd like to nominate The Elimination Chamber in The Lloyd's RW:WWE THREE Brands diary for the Monthly Spotlight. A great show. It was really well written and was exciting from start to finish.</p><p>

<p>I'll nominate Self's <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=523118" rel="external nofollow">CGC: On With The Show</a> for CVerse DOTM. Funny at times, shocking at times, it's got the right blend of absurdity and legitimacy. </p><p> </p><p>

For Spotlight, I'll say Roger Cage & Winston's dynamic in <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=522505&page=11" rel="external nofollow">TCW: The Locker-Room of Doom</a> by Blake Trask. Such a good idea, I'm mad I didn't think of it first.</p>

<p>I'd like to nominate <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=527110" rel="external nofollow">God Bless... Memphis? 1997 C-Verse </a> for C-Verse DOTM. The saga following the career of Thom Barrowman (Scout of TCW's) father continues in its amazing glory, with great story lines and some terrific alts' cataloging Shane Sneer's SCCW wrestling. The previous story, God Bless Texas, is incorporated with 70s TWL favorites Johnny Lawless and The Texas Outlaws working in management and cutting promos. </p><p> </p><p>

I'd like to make another nomination.. <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=526433" rel="external nofollow">Occasional_Z's Emerald Pro Wrestling: Devine Idea</a> as my second CornellVerse DOTM. Emerald Pro Wrestling is a small company within a larger federation, similar to MAW in design. The diary features a lot of off-screen dialogue, previews, and numerous prediction contests -- the focus shifts off the wrestling and onto the storyline, which works with the high level of reader involvement. The diary doesn't take itself too seriously, with a definite aspect of comedy within. </p><p> </p><p>

For Diary Spotlight, flaviooooo's diary <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1978567&postcount=77" rel="external nofollow">White Knight Wrestling -- Taking Over Europe</a> had an amazing post-match brawl at WKW Presents Power Play. Announcer/Leprechaun impersonator Papa O'Keefe turned on the heels and smashed owner/most popular face White Knight with the Title Belt, with O'Keefe declaring himself a master of puppets!</p>

I'd like to nominate The Great American Bash of WCW '94: War of the Thrones by Beejus for Monthly Spotlight AND nominate the very same diary for Mod DOTM. The Bash was masterfully booked with The Four Horsemen swerve on the end, Syxx's debut, Jesse Ventura's return and all, and it just doesn't get a 10 from me because Demolition did not debut on it :p

But then, he deserves the Mod DOTM nomination a lot as well, and i encourage people who don't read it to join the ride, because it is one of the best diaries of the forums.

Nominating two TCW diaries:

Secrets of the Ring IV: The Final Sacrifice by NoNeck, and TCW: The Locker Room of Doom by Blake Trask.

For the first choice, I like the historical framing that NoNeck has included in here - an actual look at the "Tuesday Night Wars" as they happened.

For the second choice, same reason as last time - great balance between show writing and backstage writing. I was supposed to correct you, Angel, since smwilliams actually nominated Blake's diary for Monthly Spotlight and not C-Verse DOTM, but I like his diary enough to nominate it for C-Verse DOTM a second month in a row.
