...SWF Presents...

SUNDAY SLAMFEST

Ace McQueen meets up with Black Jack in their locker room. The two talk about their strategy for their upcoming rematch for the SWF Tag Team Championships at The Challenge 1979, but eventually, their conversation drifts to another topic:

Ace McQueen: Listen Jack, I know we've got what it takes to be champions, but I don't know how safe I feel knowing that Spades is still out there somewhere and for all we know, those crazy punks are turning him into some revenge seeking... well, lunatic!

Black Jack: Relax Ace, this ain't nothin' different than what we're used to. Now I don't know why it is, but for some reason people don't seem to like us a whole lot round these parts, and for some even stranger reason, they like those Lunatics a heck of a lot more than us. But I'll tell you one thing that I know for sure, and that's that there's no way in hell that Shawn Spades is gonna' be stupid enough to show his face around us, especially not at The Challenge.

Ace McQueen: Why couldn't he just stick to the plan. I just don't get it, Jack. Why couldn't he just see what he had and know how good he had it.

Black Jack: Well Ace, I can't tell you nothin' about that, but I can tell you for damn sure that he's gonna' realize how big of a mistake he made when we walk out of The Challenge with those belts round' our waists again.

Vladimir Grinkov vs Flyin' Ryan O'Brien

If Vladimir Grinkov didn't show how well he can assert dominance in the wrestling ring during his match with Johnny Boy Tucker last week, he certainly did this evening against the high flyer from Ireland. Ryan O'Brien just didn't have the ability to take flight in this match-up as Grinkov kept him grounded from the start. Grinkov put on a beautiful display of submission grappling that left the young high flyer clutching his various limbs as Grinkov moved to the next one. Grinkov eventually put him away after knocking O'Brien unconscious with a vicious punt kick to the skull.

But, out of nowhere, as Grinkov celebrates with his boss, Richard Eisen, standing at ringside, a mysterious yet-familiar face appeared on the entrance ramp, and would soon sprint down to the ring to attack the Russian.

http://i59.tinypic.com/2yy9gr5.jpg

The Masked Patriot had returned. He flies into the ring and immediately goes to work on the Russian. Grinkov has no answer for the rapid assault, and Richard Eisen's expression changed from completely elated, to completely gutted as he watched his "golden boy" fall to an old rival. The Masked Patriot stands on the top turnbuckle as Eisen tends to his wounded client, and the Patriot simply locks eyes with Eisen before leaving to tend to the fans in the front row.

Rick Rumble and his girlfriend, Beautiful Babette are sitting backstage together. Rumble looks very frustrated, still irritated about his loss to Marcus McKing last week. Of course, he wasn't so much mad at McKing, but his old rival, Papa Voodoo.

Rick Rumble: I can't keep doing this babe, I can't keep letting this... this... whatever he is, keep getting to me. I can't keep risking my safety every time I step in the ring, on top of the fact that I can't help but think I'm risking my life whenever he shows up.

Beautiful Babette: You can't live in fear though Rick! I know you're trying to face him head on but he's not going to let you. How many times are you going to let him screw you over?

Rick Rumble: You just don't get it do you... I may be living in fear but all I can do is try to face him head on, and I'm not letting him screw me over, there's no way I would go ahead and "let" him do that. You can't put yourself in my shoes, I'm pushing forty years old and I can't deal with this kind of stuff anymore. All I'm hoping for is that someone, somewhere, lets me put hands on this guy, but that doesn't look like it's in the cards right now either. So you tell me, what am I supposed to do?

Beautiful Babette: I just don't know Rick, but I'll tell you one thing. This is not the Rick Rumble I fell in love with. The Rick Rumble I fell for was never confused or unsure like this. That Rick Rumble would've got up and told that big boss man back there that he wanted a one on one with this guy and would've finished it once and for all. But that's not how you're acting Rick, and I don't know if I can be around this version of you. You need to figure out what's going on with your own life Rick, because you're right, I can't walk in your shoes.

Takanofuji vs Joey Flame

The big sumo wrestler didn't stand much of a chance against the much faster, much more experienced, and much more motivated Joey Flame. Flame flies around the ring at a pace that can only be described as "lightning fast", and uses the ropes and turnbuckles to his advantage. The fans in attendance are loving the attitude of this hungrier Joey Flame, and Takanofuji couldn't do anything about it. The big man was seemingly a sitting duck, just waiting for Flame to finish the match on his own terms. The match eventually ended when Flame let a disoriented Takanofuji stand up in the middle of the ring, allowing him the perfect opportunity to fly off of the top ropes with a huge missile dropkick to set up the pin.

---

Joey Flame asks for a microphone from ringside and his wish is granted, and the young man immediately begins to go off on his brother, the United States Champion, Teddy Flame:

Joey Flame: I am tired of playing second fiddle to my brother, and I am sick of watching him succeed through his backstabbing, lying, cheating and his ability to turn his back on the most important thing in the world; family.

My brother was the most important thing in the world to me, and if you had asked me three months ago what I would've done for my brother, I would've told you I would've given up my shot for the United States Championship just to make him happy. But he told me no, he told me to compete because it was something we both wanted. Little did I know the only reason I was competing was to push his agenda.

Well no more, at The Challenge, I want one thing and one thing only.

I want a fight. No disqualifications, no count-outs, no rules. You and me Teddy, I want you to fight me for that belt.

Richard Eisen, Rocky Streets, Micky Starr, Jesus, any of the powers that be, please, just make this happen. There is nothing I want more than to teach my brother a lesson. Hell, I don't even want the belt anymore. I am literally begging here.

Make it happen and this can all be over.

Dusty Streets vs Chuck

Dusty Streets is still building momentum every week en route to his highly anticipated title match with Rip Chord. The King of the Squared Circle continues to impress as he veritably tears through everyone that's put in front of him. Chuck shows some promise in this match, taking some of Dusty's hardest shots and firing back with some of his own, but everyone in attendance and the crowd at home can still tell that the young man is definitely in a little too deep. Dusty continues to put on a great show for the crowd, hoisting Chuck into the air and throwing him around at will, and as Chuck begins to get more and more exhausted, Dusty puts him away with a Street Sweeper for the pin.

It's not long before Rip Chord emerges from the backstage area. He comes flying down to the ring, belt over his shoulder, still dressed in his street clothes. The two men get up in each other's faces and scream threats at one another. Officials try to make their way into the ring to separate the two men before they come to blows, but neither man threatens physical action, the two are much more concerned with firing insults at each other and trying to intimidate the other. Dusty eventually shoves Chord, and that's where the officials get involved, stepping between the two men and sending them to opposite corners of the ring. Chord and Dusty continue to scream at each other but Chord gets out of the ring and is forced back towards the backstage area. The two don't stop the yelling match until Chord is completely out of sight, and once he is, Dusty raises his arms in victory for the fans in attendance.

Richie Pangrazzio Jr. vs Jack Rossi

Rossi and Pangrazzio get right to business as Coach Dick Pangrazzio nearly incites a riot in the front row as he antagonizes those who cheer for Rossi. Pangrazzio and Rossi lock up in the middle of the ring and for the most part, it looks like Rossi is getting the better of the exchanges, throwing Pangrazzio around like a rag doll as Pangrazzio struggles to regain his footing. Richie finally gets in his groove, so to speak, and starts to rattle off some offense, landing a few nasty punches and kicks that force Rossi to back down for a bit. The two continue to brawl in the middle of the ring before Rossi gets a hold on Pangrazzio and tosses him around the ring some more, with a variety of suplexes. Pangrazzio gives him some right back, sending him into the corner with a big Irish whip and blasting him with a big clothesline in the corner. The two get back into the ring after Pangrazzio does a little bit more work in the corner, landing a few well placed chops and boots to the stomach. Pangrazzio lands another nasty punch to the stomach and drops Rossi with a nice DDT. With Rossi looking a little woozy, Pangrazzio goes for the pin and gets it, picking up the victory as his father gets in the ring to celebrate.

Richard Eisen sits in his office as The Hit Squad barge through the doors and shut it loudly behind them.

Richard Eisen: What in the hell do you two want?

Ray Williams: I think you know what we want Richard.

Powerhouse Patterson: I know for a fact that The Pangrazzios were talking about wrestling us at The Challenge and we just had something to tell you about that.

Richard Eisen: And what is that?

Powerhouse Patterson: We're down for it.

Ray Williams: I've already beaten Coach Dick up once, and believe me I'd love to do it again. If those two want what's basically a two-on-one match-up, the believe me we're all for it.

Richard Eisen: If that's what the Pangrazzios want, I'll give them a chat and we'll have the papers signed. If this is what you gentlemen want, I'll grab us the papers and we can get this ball rolling. Are you absolutely sure this is the match you want at The Challenge?

Powerhouse Patterson: Hell yeah.

Richard Eisen: Well then boys, you've got some papers to sign.

Sam Strong vs "Crippler" Ray Kingman

There's more history to this match than many people think. "Crippler" Ray Kingman actually holds a victory over Sam Strong in a televised match-up where he defended his United States Championship against both Strong & Johnny Boy Tucker. The two take to the middle of the ring fairly quickly and Strong is clearly looking to avenge his previous loss to the former United States Champion. Kingman shows off some of his famous ground work, but Strong breaks free every time and blasts him with some vicious strikes to make up for the time he was locked down. Strong looks better than ever once the two get back on their feet, as Strong muscles Kingman into the corner and batters him with massive punches, holding Kingman by the collar and not letting him free. Strong drags Kingman back into the center of the ring and drops him with a big bulldog. Strong drops some stomps onto his downed opponent and Kingman struggles to get back to his feet. The two keep the match going once Kingman eventually manages to get back to his feet, and they square off once more in the center of the ring. Strong gets caught with a boot to the gut and drops low to clutch his abdomen. Kingman tries to capitalize with a big DDT but Strong muscles through the pain and throws Kingman over his shoulders. Kingman hops right back to his feet but Sam Strong is already bouncing off the ropes and drops him with a big shoulder block. Kingman hops right back to his feet and heads for the ropes himself, but as he comes back... Strong Arm Lariat! Kingman looks like he is out cold, and Sam Strong capitalizes by scoring the pin and the victory.

---

Sam Strong remains in the ring and grabs a microphone, and the big man looks more than agitated

Sam Strong: I am more than ready to get rid of Micky Starr at The Challenge 1979. Once and for all, brother.

Micky Starr, you do not stand a chance, you won't last more than ten minutes with the biggest thing in wrestling history; Sam Strong.

You're gonna' fall like every other man that's stepped foot in the same ring as Sam Strong, the same way Ray Kingman just fell, the same way Ares Aegaleus fell to you, the same way you fell to Rip Chord, but there's one key difference for you.

When you fall, at The Challenge, you're never gonna' stop falling.

You don't know what you've gotten yourself into brother, but lemme' tell you, there's no gettin' out of it now.

MISSING, OR JUST HIDING?

There's one question people have had for the past few weeks... where in the world is Shawn Spades?

It's been a few weeks since we've seen Shawn Spades on a televised SWF event, and as we approach the SWF's flagship event, The Challenge, the result of the Tag Team Championship match between The Lunatics & Deadly Gamble will remain up in the air until we know for a fact where Shawn Spades actually is. Spades, for weeks throughout Deadly Gamble's run with the championships, had a major part in some of their title defenses. Spades would play the "bodyguard" essentially, making sure that Deadly Gamble walked away with the belts every time. But when he was abducted by The Lunatics, Deadly Gamble was just not able to compete with the [now] champions, and as it stands right now, it looks like The Lunatics won't be losing their belts at The Challenge.

Spades was first recruited to the SWF under his real name, Lee Wright, and because of a real life backstage relationship with Black Jack (who has legitimately been acting as the youngster's mentor, on screen and off), was given the role as Deadly Gamble's "variable" over any of the other new signings, who were all promptly sent to the development system. Part of his being chosen for the role was his size and physical stature, but it is mostly in part due to the relationship he has with Black Jack.

Under his real name, Lee Wright, Spades wrestled two matches: one in a losing effort to [then] current World Champion Micky Starr, and another losing effort against Rick Rumble. Since changing to the Shawn Spades persona, he has one win under his belt against Brick Fantana, and two losses for which he blames his associates for not getting involved, and that's why we're at the point in the storyline we're at today.

Until Shawn Spades is found, it is the general consensus that The Lunatics will retain their belts at The Challenge, but even if he is found, how much does he know? Will he immediately rush back to helping his associates, or has he completely turned his back on them and is looking forward to moving on to new things? Only time will tell, and with only a week until The Challenge, time is most definitely ticking.

...SWF Presents...

SUNDAY SLAMFEST

Coach Dick Pangrazzio and his son, Richie Pangrazzio Jr. run into The Hit Squad backstage, and it doesn't take long for the four men to get into a heated argument.

Coach Dick Pangrazzio: The contract's been signed already gentlemen, don't even bother wasting your time with us.

Ray Williams: Why don't you shut the hell up, old man. You should know by now that we do what we want round' here.

Richie Pangrazzio Jr: Watch it buddy or you might not make it to The Challenge.

Powerhouse Patterson: Tape it shut little Dick nobody's talkin' to you. Both you boys best stop barkin' cause you messin' with the wrong dogs.

Coach Dick Pangrazzio: Bite me Patterson, or so help me god Richie'll give you a little flashback to 77' and you don't want that.

Richie Pangrazzio Jr: You don't want none of this, man, you don't want none of it.

Ray Williams: You better pray ya' flights get cancelled cause if you make it to New York, you might just not be able to leave.

Powerhouse Patterson: Not without doctor's approval at least.

Coach Dick Pangrazzio: Yeah well Williams you might as well stay in New York, I'm sure your boxing promoters and what not will take you back, or... then again, maybe they won't cau-

Richie Pangrazzio Jr. CAUSE YOU SUCKED.

Coach Dick Pangrazzio: Right... what he said. See ya' around boys.

The father-son team walk off towards their dressing room while The Hit Squad let out some of their frustrations by... well, hitting stuff. The screen fades to the in-ring action as we get ready for our first match.

Wild Wild West (Cowboy Caldwell & Rick Horn) vs The Mustache Dream Team (Burt Selleck & Wade Morris)

Cowboy Caldwell's performance a few weeks back showed the crowds that he is indeed "the real deal". His recruitment of fellow cowboy, Rick Horn, shows that he is ready to make a run for the tag team titles, and if Rick Horn can keep up, these two might be able to do just that. Wade Morris is once again the weak link on The Mustache Dream Team, as Caldwell throws him around the ring with ease. Even Rick Horn gets in on the action, putting a beating on Morris to the point that he begs for the tag from his partner, Burt Selleck. Selleck eventually gets in the ring, but it's too late, as Rick Horn has picked up some momentum and plows through the second half of the team. Horn picks up the win for the Wild Wild West, and it seems we've witnessed the beginning of a beautiful partnership.

Rick Rumble is standing backstage with Buddy Hollar, and clearly has something on his mind.

Buddy Hollar: Good evening fans, I'm here with Rick Rumble. Rick it's obvious you have something you want to talk about so I'm gonna' let you get right to that. Tell us what's on your mind pal.

Rick Rumble: I am tired of living in fear, Buddy. That's just it. I am sick and tired, I'm stressed every single day, I'm worried that even on my good days, I'll have a bad one. I'm worried that every single time I walk out to that ring I might not walk out of it, and not because of the guy that's standing in front of me, but the guy that's coming from my blind side.

Buddy Hollar: So what are you saying Rick?

Rick Rumble: I'm saying the only thing I know how to say, Buddy, I'm challenging Papa Voodoo to a one on one, no disqualifications, last man standing match at The Challenge 1979. I am tired of having to look for you to get my revenge. You stand in front of me, man to man, and it'll end there. You go your separate way, I'll go mine. But I need to do this for me. So you know where I'll be come Thursday, I'll be in that ring. If you wanna' show yourself, you know where to find me.

Baron Von Rambis vs Joey Flame

Once again, Flame is miles ahead of his opponent, in this case, Baron Von Rambis. Rambis' age is clearly starting to catch up with him, as the big man just could not keep up with the pace that Flame was setting. Rambis looked very sloppy as he desperately swung his arms, hoping for a hand to make contact and put an end to the match. But Joey wouldn't allow it, flying around the ring at high speeds and dizzying his opponent before he went in for the kill. As Rambis stumbled around the ring, Flame saw the prime opportunity to put him away with a big flying knee lift, and scored the pin.

---

Teddy Flame makes his way down to the ring, microphone in hand, belt around his waist. He makes eye contact with his brother, Joey Flame, and begins to speak.

Teddy Flame: I'm gonna' talk, and you're gonna' listen. You don't get a mic, because nobody needs to hear you right now; they need to hear me.

I want to address some of the things you said last week. I would've and I still would do anything for you Joey, and that's why I stopped you from getting to the finals at Wrestling Classic.

To save you... from me.

You still are the most important person in my life Joey, next to mom and dad, but lets get one thing straight: you against me, there's no question; we know who comes out on top.

So I've had some interesting thoughts going through my head over the past few days, well, since you called me out last week.

You deserve a shot at that belt Joey, you deserve a shot because you need to understand why you'll never be a champion.

And if anyone's gonna' show you that you don't deserve that belt, and if anyone's gonna' show you that you really just aren't ready...

It's gonna' be me.

You're on, you... me... The Challenge 1979, for the United States Championship.

---

Ace McQueen, looking anxious as ever, catches up with his partner Black Jack and nearly breaks down. Black Jack is left to pick up the pieces as we catch some of their conversation.

Ace McQueen: I'm goin' crazy here Jack. I'm really goin' crazy. How are we supposed to do it? How are we supposed to do it without him. We really needed Shawn... we really needed him, Jack! I just keep having flashbacks to the night we lost our belts... just, looking over my shoulders thinking he was gonna' show up but he never did! What if he doesn't show up again!?

Black Jack: Get a hold of yourself partner. Listen, we don't need no Shawn Spades. We just got used to havin' him around and we just got a lil' lazy, that's all. Now take a seat and control yourself, you don't got nothin' to worry about, I don't got nothin' to worry about, Deadly Gamble don't got nothin' to worry about. We're just gonna' go out there and do what we been doing our whole careers; and that's win, bucko.

Sid Streets vs Archie Judge

Archie Judge is clearly out of his element here, as the young man makes his first appearance in the land of the Supreme after being brought up from Rocky Mountain Wrestling. Either way, trained or not, he was no match for the freight train that is Sid Streets. Streets shows off some of the wrestling we've come to know him for, as he throws Judge around aggressively, and taunts his opponent in between attacks. Sid finally puts him away with a big clothesline, but elects to force his opponent to tap out with a nasty Boston Crab.

---

Sid Streets remains in the ring and grabs a microphone to talk about his match on Thursday:

Sid Streets: In four days, I will end a career.

Come Thursday night, everyone in attendance will say their goodbyes to Rocky Streets. I will say good riddance.

By the end of The Challenge 1979, you will all know who is the greatest wrestler the Streets family has ever produced. And I'm talkin' to you Rock, all you were ever good for was makin' me.

You're not gonna' last five minutes with me on Thursday, best get that through your head now Rocky so you're not disappointed.

Vladimir Grinkov vs Lars Mitchell

Vladimir Grinkov's ability to thoroughly beat his opponents to a pulp has never been questioned. His ability to take on top level competition, now that was a question that fans of the Supreme Wrestling Federation had been asking themselves all week. Unfortunately for his detractors, Vladimir Grinkov ran through Lars Mitchell this evening, blasting him with deadly judo-throws from the opening bell to the closing bell. Lars Mitchell was able to show off some of his own skill set, but it wasn't enough to slow the massive Russian. With his boss and "protector", Richard Eisen, at ringside, there was really no question that the big man was going to come out with the victory, and he did, pinning Mitchell after a nasty hip toss left him too winded to kick out.

However, after the match, The Masked Patriot, was back but not wearing his typical mask. Sporting a red mask complete with a yellow hammer-and-sickle, carrying the Russian flag and strapped with a bottle of the finest vodka from Moscow, The Masked Patriot makes his way to the ring, and the crowd doesn't know whether to laugh at his embodiment of Grinkov's culture, or whether to jeer his imitation due to their dislike of the Judo champion. The Masked Patriot has a microphone handed to him as he sets down the flag and pours the vodka all over it, and lets out very few words.

The Masked Patriot: See? They ALL hate you.

Within mere seconds, the two are brawling over the vodka-soaked Russian flag and Richard Eisen clears out of the way, letting his big man beat on The Masked Patriot. Once Patriot starts getting the better of the exchanges, Grinkov is pulled from the scuffle by his "protector" and the two flee the scene. The Masked Patriot sticks around to laugh at his nemesis, and the crowd cheer him on as the show fades to commercial.

Rip Chord & Sam Strong vs Dusty Streets & Micky Starr

Prior to this episode, fans speculated that this match would either be one of the most incredible matches that had ever been televised, or would devolve into a massive brawl that will set the stage for the biggest event of the year. Luckily for them, both answers were correct. Although neither of the feuds would be settled this evening, and Strong would not face off with Micky Starr at any point during the match, the four men showed an incredible ability to move the match forward and tell a great story all the way through to the end. Strong and Dusty would brawl for awhile, and then Strong would catch Dusty going to tag out to Starr, and would make the choice to tag out to Chord. The amount of movement going on in the ring never got slower, and the pace only quickened as the match went on. The four men would go for a solid twenty minutes before an outside interference would spark the brawl to end them all.

Mighty Thor comes flying out of the backstage area and drops both Rip Chord & Micky Starr with a massive double clothesline. At that point, Strong and Dusty got into the mix and the five men swung wildly at each other as the referee ruled the match a double disqualification. Mighty Thor shows off how strong he really is as he completely scatters the four men that were actually involved in the match to begin with, Strong goes for Micky Starr, and Rip Chord attacks his nemesis, Dusty Streets, as Mighty Thor goes where he pleases. In the end, all four of the men involved in matches at The Challenge 1979 are floored, with only Mighty Thor remaining on his feet. Will Mighty Thor have an impact at The Challenge 1979? You still have four days to purchase tickets and make your way to New York for the biggest event of the year!

THE CHALLENGE IS UPON US; PT. 1

It's been a long, tumultuous road to The Challenge 1979 but yes, we are indeed just a few days away from the biggest show of the year. Richard Eisen, a few weeks ago, announced that the historic event would be taking place in New York City, and that the Manhattan National Center would play host to the likes of Micky Starr, Sam Strong, Rip Chord & Dusty Streets as some of the major storylines will come to an end, and future contenders will be born. This last episode of Sunday Slamfest set the stage for the promotion's flagship event and in this four part mini-series of articles, we will discuss how we reached the points we've reached in the respective storylines and how the different superstars have landed where they are today. The first article will cover, obviously, the World Championship clash between champion Rip Chord & challenger, Dusty Streets.

The Background

The rivalry between Rip Chord & Dusty Streets was born after Dusty Streets won the King of the Squared Circle tournament against his brother, Sid, in January of 1979, but it was only in April of 1979, at Wrestling Classic that the fire between the two men was truly ignited. When Dusty Streets flew out of the backstage area and attacked Rip Chord after another successful defense against Hagar Erikson, the feud was born, and Chord and Dusty would battle it out over the next few weeks leading up to their inevitable clash at The Challenge 1979. While Chord and Dusty knew for a fact that they would be facing one another at The Challenge 1979 (providing Chord was still champion by then) the two would take turns one-upping the other in hopes of discouraging them by the time they were ready to clash. With Chord getting the better of his challenger in the matches, where Chord & his protege, Sam Keith, beat Dusty & his father, Rocky, in a tag match, Dusty would seemingly always come out on top when the two would brawl or when Streets would get the crowd on his side thanks to his ability to get under Rip Chord's skin.

Burning Questions

Dusty and Rip had actually faced off once before with the title on the line, but the SWF booking committee decided not to play on the fact that Rip Chord had actually beaten Dusty Streets on live television. This is because the match was actually one of the better ones that the SWF was able to put out in 1978, and they had hoped that the match had fallen into the vaults so deep that they could play off of the chemistry between the two men for their highly anticipated clash at The Challenge 1979. While it's safe to say the company is expecting a good match, if it flops, the true superfans of the organization will look back and will obviously compare to the last match-up between the two.

Should Chord come out the victor in this title clash, he will have crossed the one-year mark with the SWF World Heavyweight Championship, and will continue his march into the record books as one of the greatest the SWF has ever seen. With the long six year reign of Micky Starr as the only one to precede Chord's reign with the title, Chord has ample time to continue running with the championship, but with the evolution of SWF wrestlers and as more and more credible threats to the championship emerges, could it be time for a face to take the championship?

But on Dusty's end, critics have discussed that he's not quite over enough to take the belt yet, and that giving him the strap would be a risk. Although he is a legitimate main eventer, and no publication can argue that, has he had enough time in the spotlight to be the spoiler to Rip Chord's one year reign with the belt? Chord has hit his plateau, so to speak, and with his popularity no longer growing (keeping that in perspective at least, with more fans of the wrestling world emerging, Chord will either continue to gain fans or gain heat, but he has indeed hit the peak in terms of popularity; there really is nowhere else to go) it could be time to pass the belt on to someone else to create more household names for the fans to cheer for. As much as we would enjoy the matches that would come out of another Rip Chord & Micky Starr feud, why not give Dusty a shot and see where he goes with it?

But what about Mighty Thor? Where does he play into this match, or does he play into it at all? Nearly every main eventer has felt his presence in some way, shape or form, and it's very possible that the monster appears on the scene once again, maybe even to sway the match in Dusty's favor, given that he's seemingly shown a dislike for Rip Chord... okay, he's shown a dislike for everybody, so maybe that point is invalid. Still, both Dusty Streets & Rip Chord have to be worried about an impromptu appearance from the very dangerous and volatile Mighty Thor.

Lastly, how will Rocky Streets' impending retirement affect Dusty's performance in his World Championship match-up? Especially due to the fact that Rocky will be facing off with his son, and Dusty's brother, Sid Streets. With all of the family drama finally coming to an end (at least for Rocky & Sid), will Dusty have a clear conscience or will he have more thoughts running through his head than ever. Dusty has been fairly quiet about the matter in the weeks leading up to his clash with Rip Chord, so we haven't really gotten to get into his head, so to speak, and that could end up being his downfall in the long run.

We tend to not give out predictions as to not sway the reader's opinion (or potentially ruin things for those actually going to the event) but even if we did, this match is far too close to call, as any of the factors listed could lead to a victory for either man. Tune in for part two of this special "The Challenge" edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, and don't forget that if you can make it out to New York City, The Challenge tickets are still on sale!

THE CHALLENGE IS UPON US; PT. 2

Our second part in this four part mini-series will cover the long awaited Sam Strong vs Micky Starr match-up that has been teased since the King of the Squared Circle event in January. With the stage finally set for the match that many expected would never actually happen, it's only right we give this match a good look so we can truly evaluate the impact it will have on the wrestling world.

The Background

Sam Strong and Micky Starr are actually great friends, and that's why they make such great natural enemies. Both are incredibly entertaining, incredibly charismatic, and in Sam Strong's case, can get the crowd to turn on him with just one sentence. Both are great wrestlers in their own right and have the look that just screams World Champion, so why aren't they in the title match? Because nobody can tell who deserves it more. So much that when Sam Strong joined the company mid-1977 (at Starr's request, might we add), it was the booking committees immediate task to find a way to get Sam Strong over enough to build to a match with Micky Starr in the near future. Two years later and Sam Strong is now ready to step up to the plate, but a couple box office smashes definitely helped with the growth of his fan base. While Starr was occupied with his World Championship run, Strong was beating up the majority of the midcard. By King of the Squared Circle 1979, the feud was set in to motion, as Starr announced to the crowd that the match-up would not be happening because of an "injury", and for the coming months, Starr would be attacked, insulted, and avoided by Sam Strong, who at all costs did everything to stay out of the ring with the former World Heavyweight Champion. Richard Eisen eventually saw the dollar signs, and Starr agreed to a career match, where if he lost, he would retire from in-ring action. Strong agreed to the conditions, and after seven months of waiting (but really, just over two years), the fabled match is just days away.

Burning Questions

What's Micky Starr's drive? Obviously if he was planning to retire, he would want to pass the torch on to one of his friends, or someone he had hand chosen himself, but at thirty-three years old, Starr still has a lot of time to stay at the top of the organization. While we don't know a whole lot about Starr's physical condition (or his mental one, at that), his injuries, if any, have stayed under the radar or have been very minimal. Whether Starr is planning to go on hiatus or is actually looking at retirement, it's probable that Strong is the man he'd want to hand the torch off to.

Sam Strong is very popular around the world, and not just because of wrestling. With multiple movie deals in the works, are the SWF willing to push a man that could just jump ship at the drop of a hat to make more money in Tinseltown? Strong's movies have made him a household name in the United States and did well on a global scale. Because of his involvement with the SWF, naturally the promotion amassed a large following due to their association with Sam Strong. The promotion clearly owes him a lot of gratitude due to the amount of fans he's brought in, but with a large following comes large responsibilities, and whether or not Sam Strong will show allegiance to his friend Micky Starr & the SWF, or whether he will make the decision to go with the big money and head to Hollywood full time is still up in the air, and that could seriously affect the result of this match.

Micky Starr has been champion before, and he did a damn good job of it. Sam Strong has yet to touch SWF gold and will most likely get a run with the belt if he stays with the promotion long term. However, the tried and true formula of "Micky Starr, World Heavyweight Champion" could outweigh Sam Strong's potential as a World Champion, and as such, he could be given the nod simply to thrust him into another feud with Rip Chord over the World Championship. That all depends on how the SWF booking committee feels about Rip Chord's run with the championship, and whether or not he is doing the belt justice and getting the ratings the company needs to stay with Sports America.

Mighty Thor will also be playing a part in this match-up, psychologically and possibly physically. Strong & Starr have both felt the wrath of the monster himself, and will be fearing for their safety should he make an appearance. After Thor's dominant display of offense at the end of this week's Sunday Slamfest, it's very possible that he decides it's time for him to make an impact at The Challenge 1979, and he could very well play a part in the result of this match, and potentially, Micky Starr's retirement.

Finally, with the amount of time that has been invested in building hype for this match-up, the two have to be worried about it being a bust. The booking committee has obviously invested a lot of time into this feud and have most likely been monitoring the two men's ability to work together, so it's safe to say we'll have a solid match, but because of how much the fans have had to wait for this one, it's unfortunate, but if it isn't a legendary match, it could miss out on the credit that it actually deserves.

We're still not giving out predictions, but stay tuned for part three, and we hope to see you at The Challenge 1979!

THE CHALLENGE IS UPON US; PT. 3

Our third part of this four part series goes into depth about the relationship between Rocky & Sid Streets. The two have had serious problems with each other over the past year, dating back to last year's The Challenge. Although the issues have been more on Sid's end, and Rocky's issue being Sid, the two have had problems reconciling and after their last, would you call it a match, at the Wrestling Classic, Rocky's impending retirement will certainly make this one for the ages.

The Background

Things all started back at The Challenge 1978. Dusty and Sid were looking to make another successful defense of their Tag Team Championships, and those hopes were scrapped when Sid turned on his brother and allowed Deadly Gamble to win the championships. When questioned by his father and brother, Sid grew increasingly bitter about his status in the Streets family. Upset about Dusty being viewed as the favorite, Sid went on what could only be described as a "killing spree", destroying anything and everything in sight en route to a great showing at King of the Squared Circle. Unfortunately, that winning streak would be halted at the hands of his own brother, a loss that would only make things worse for the Streets family. Rocky and Sid would eventually face off at Wrestling Classic after months of arguing between family members. When the father and son finally came face to face, Rocky tried to put things to an end, and his son brutally beat him and took all of his anger out on his own father. Now, after more and more arguing, Rocky has agreed to end his career after this match, win or lose, but whether he remains a part of the organization (on-screen, that is) is still up in the air.

Burning Questions

There's not many questions to be asked here. The logical prediction would be that Sid Streets walks away with the victory because he's staying with the promotion and Rocky's retiring, but it may not be as easy as that. Rocky is someone who has paid his dues and been a good right-hand man for Richard Eisen. It's possible that the booking committee that he lead for quite some time would want to pay him back by sending him off on a good note with one last victory before he is inevitably inducted into the SWF Hall of Fame, and to kick off his new career as Chief Scout for the promotion.

Will Dusty play a part in this match? With Dusty not speaking much about the issues that have come up in his family, we have no clue where his head is at. Is he on Sid's side, or will he come to the aid of his father, or will he even make an appearance at all? Dusty has enough to focus on given his championship match with Rip Chord in the main event, and so he may not even be concerning himself with the issues that his father and brother are having with each other. If Dusty does make an appearance however, does this mean that he'll be thrown into a feud with his brother, or could we be about to witness a heel turn for the older brother in attempt to rekindle his relationship with Sid. Only time will tell...

Finally, the real question: will this even be a match? Last time the story was advanced through a savage beating courtesy of Sid Streets. This time should be different, however, it's possible that Rocky really doesn't have that much go in him anymore, and we could be seeing the booking committee taking the easy way out and sending him off to retirement quickly and painlessly.

Our last part of this mini-series will be released soon, and after that, all you'll have to look forward to will be The Challenge 1979! Stay tuned!

THE CHALLENGE IS UPON US; PT. 4

Our final edition of The Challenge 1979 mini-series tackles the undercard. These matches are incredibly important to the show as they'll set the tone for the main events, and will hopefully build the suspense for some of the biggest matches of the year. With no further ado, lets get into it!

Deadly Gamble vs The Lunatics © for the Tag Team Championships

Things were looking good for Deadly Gamble earlier this year. The tandem had found themselves a young buck that was ready to die for his associates in Shawn Spades, but after a few disagreements between the three men and a lack of reciprocation, Shawn Spades was confused as to where he stood with the champions. Unfortunately for him, The Lunatics kidnapped him and he has been nowhere to be found for the past few weeks, and unfortunately for Deadly Gamble, that lead to them losing the Tag Team Championships. Will Shawn Spades make his return to the promotion at The Challenge, or will The Lunatics cement themselves as the legitimate Tag Team Champions?

Coach Dick & Richie Pangrazzio Jr. vs The Hit Squad

This is more of a novelty match-up, and one that Coach Dick won't actually be very involved in. The Coach and figurehead of the All-Star Team stable is not actually contracted for in-ring time, but agreed to this match for storyline purposes. One will expect that Ray Williams or Powerhouse Patterson will hurt him enough to force him out of the ring and Richie Pangrazzio Jr. will take things from there and from there on, everything is up in the air. Will The Hit Squad validate themselves as a legitimate tag team or will the Pangrazzios continue to play dirty and continue the feud?

Joey Flame vs Teddy Flame © for the United States Championship

Another family feud, the two men initially started their feud at Wrestling Classic over the United States Championship after Teddy caused his brother to lose out on a shot at the championship he was after. With Teddy taking the belt home with him, this caused tension between the two and things have finally come to a head, with the two agreeing to a match at The Challenge. Will Joey get his revenge, or will Teddy validate himself as United States Champion and finally shut his brother up once and for good?

Rick Rumble vs Papa Voodoo in a Last Man Standing Match

The real question is: will this match actually happen? Rick Rumble called his nemesis out this past week on Sunday Slamfest to a last man standing match, and although Papa Voodoo hasn't agreed just yet, it's very possible that he shows up at The Challenge looking for a fight. Papa Voodoo has been a force to be reckoned with for the past few months in his brutal assaults and mind games at Rick Rumble's expense. Will Rumble finally be able to exact revenge or will Voodoo be the last man standing?

Vladimir Grinkov vs The Masked Patriot

The opening match and a last minute announcement. After The Masked Patriot mocked Grinkov's Russian heritage this week on Sunday Slamfest, Richard Eisen made sure this match happened. Grinkov has certainly made an impact in the promotion in his recent appearances, and although The Masked Patriot has had a previous stint with the promotion and is fairly popular in his own right, this match could go either way.

Well, that's it for us. That wraps up the mini-series, and we will hopefully see you at The Challenge 1979! The card can be found below, and for the record, this past week's Sunday Slamfest prediction contest's winners have been announced: smwilliams & Midnightnick

The ring is decked out with a red canvas and comfortable chairs for the owner of the company and his guest of honor, and rightfully so, as it is a special night for both men.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Now, Ares has been incredibly important to me during his stay here at the Supreme Wrestling Federation, and it is my honor to give back to him, on this special night, for all of his efforts during his time here. Ares Aegaleus has had a storied career with the company and I'm sure I'm not the only person that will happily vouch for that, and although he never managed to capture that elusive World Heavyweight Championship, he was certainly in and around the title picture at all times, and was a fearsome competitor whenever he stepped into the squared circle.</em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em> </em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>

So, without any further ado, I'm going to let the man of the hour talk to you for a bit, ladies and gentlemen, once again... </span></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>The Masked Patriot vs Vladimir Grinkov</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">The entrances clearly have a higher budget given the sheer size of this event. The Manhattan National Center has a beautiful stage set up for the Supreme Superstars to make their ways down to the ring and The Masked Patriot is the first to have that honor. Draped in an American flag, the masked man makes his way down to the ring, flying the flag as high as he can while he high fives the fans in the front rows. Once The Masked Patriot is firmly planted in the ring and raring to go, it's time for Vladimir Grinkov, accompanied by Richard Eisen of course, to make his way down to the famous squared circle. Much to the dislike of the crowd, Grinkov struts his stuff as he makes his way to the ring and in his typical no-nonsense fashion, he hops into the ring and is ready to go. The bell signals the start of the match and we are off.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Grinkov and Patriot square off in the center of the ring and lock up. Grinkov backs his opponent off with a big European uppercut and forces Patriot to re-evaluate his strategy. The two lock back up and start throwing each other around, trying to get the upper hand. Patriot starts to actually get control of the match, out grappling the Judo gold medalist, and tossing him into the corner. Unfortunately, that edge is short lived, as Grinkov pegs the incoming masked man with a nasty big boot from the corner. Grinkov gets on top of his opponent and starts going to work, applying a brutal arm-lock that threatens to put a halt to this match early. Patriot holds on for dear life, and he manages to get out in one piece, as Grinkov decided to let go and save some energy. Patriot gets tossed with a hard Irish whip and bounces off the ropes, ducking under a clothesline from his opponent, and leaping off of the ropes in front of him, springing back towards Grinkov with a big flying cross-body.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

It's only a matter of time before the two are back on their feet and brawling in the middle of the ring once more, and this time it's The Masked Patriot who gets his opponent to the ground with a nice snap suplex. Vladimir Grinkov proves to be a hard man to pin down, as he muscles his way back to his feet and locks back up with his opponent. Vladimir gets into his zone and drops his opponent with a big hip toss and at this point, the crowd knows what comes next. Grinkov goes to work on another one of his deadly submission holds, this time a tight ankle lock that makes it difficult for The Masked Patriot to slip away. Grinkov is nearly lifting his opponent off of the ground as he wrenches the hold, but it looks for a moment that the Patriot would make his way to the ropes and save himself. Unfortunately, that's where Richard Eisen comes in. Richard sneaks around to the other side of the ring and pulls on the bottom rope, so hard that it is now out of The Masked Patriot's reach. Because of his inability to reach the ropes, he is forced to tap out or lose a foot, and of course, The Masked Patriot chose the former. Vladimir Grinkov picks up the victory with a nasty ankle lock to finish off his opponent.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Eisen grabs a microphone and begins to go off on his client's rival.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Teddy Flame © vs Joey Flame</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>

SWF United States Championship</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Joey Flame is the first to make his way down to the ring, given that he is the challenger, and the fans are very much so behind him in this affair. Joey has gotten the short end of the stick on many occasions since Wrestling Classic earlier this year, and because of that, he has more motivation than ever as he competes against his brother over the United States Championship. Teddy Flame is the next to make his way down to the ring, and with the United States Championship wrapped around his waist, he is looking as confident as ever as he slowly walks towards the ring, complete with a smug grin and eyebrows to match. Teddy hands the belt to the time keeper at ringside and with that, the opening bell sounds and the match has begun.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Joey and Teddy don't waste any time, the two brothers swing wildly at each other with neither man backing down. Joey is the first to land anything solid, and he capitalizes on it by whipping a dazed Teddy Flame into the ropes, and knocking the rebounding champion off of his feet with a nice shoulder block. Teddy is right back to his feet and Joey starts to light him up with punches, backing him into the corner and whipping him once more, this time into the opposite corner. Teddy hits the turnbuckles hard and waits for his brother to follow up his attack. Just as Joey gets close enough, Teddy ducks out of the way and a leaping Joey Flame finds himself hung up in the corner. Teddy maneuvers himself into a better position and tries to roll his brother up for a quick victory, but he barely gets a two count as the two stand back up and get into the center of the ring once more.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Teddy and Joey go back and forth with punches and kicks, and both do their best to stay on their feet, but Joey eventually loses his balance after a solid low kick sweeps his legs out from under him. Teddy starts firing off kicks to his downed brother, and while the crowd is booing him, he manages to fill the short quiet moments with insults, shouting at his brother as he peppers him with quick kicks. When it is evident that Joey won't be getting up any time soon, Teddy heads towards the turnbuckles and climbs up to the top, readying himself and then leaping off with a </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Sky High Legdrop</em></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">, dropping all of his weight on his brother and after Teddy notices that Joey is out for the count, he goes for the cover and gets it, defending his United States Championship in the process.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>The Pangrazzios vs The Hit Squad</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The Hit Squad are the first to make their ways down to the squared circle, slapping hands with the fans in the front row and flexing their muscles the entire way. The two enter the confines of the ring and wait for their opponents, not allowing their eyes to drift from the entrance ramp for one second. Moments later, and after the crowd had died down after the initial excitement of seeing Ray Williams & Powerhouse Patterson, The Pangrazzios finally appeared on the scene. As the chorus of boos begins to fill the arena, Richie & his father, Dick, make their ways down the entrance ramp. The Coach is the most arrogant of the two, sporting some flashy ring gear that looks like it was custom made for the occasion. Richie continue to taunt the crowd as Coach Dick brushes his shoulders off before the two step foot into the ring. The Hit Squad restrains themselves, and Ray Williams stays in the ring to start the match off. Coach Dick decides that he's feeling confident, and decides to stay in the ring to begin the match, and with that, the opening bell sounds.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Coach Dick looks like he's already regretting his decision of showing up this evening, as he spends most of his time in the ring on the backpedal, trying to avoid any contact with Ray Williams. Williams finally catches up with him, and makes him pay for all of his trash talk in the previous weeks, pelting him with big right hands. The Coach grabs hold of the ropes to avoid falling over from the shots, and in his defense, he manages to endure the barrage of punches courtesy of Ray Williams. Williams steps back to regain some stamina and flex for the crowd, but he moves in for the kill once more. Coach Dick welcomes him with a dirty knee below the belt, and moves towards his corner to tag out to his son. Richie hops into the ring like a raging bull, and backs Williams up as he strings together a combination of big lefts and rights. Williams feels the pressure, and once he's close enough to his corner, he tags out to Powerhouse Patterson. Patterson may have been too eager, and as he entered the ring, he was blasted by a big clothesline that completely floored him.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Patterson manages to get back to his feet relatively quickly, and his old rival Richie Pangrazzio Jr continued to push the pace. Powerhouse Patterson avoided a big clothesline, and from there on, it was his turn to fire back. After some big uppercuts to the gut, Powerhouse Patterson started to show off his strength, hoisting Richie into the air and throwing him wherever he wanted. Coach Dick was looking ready to go once more, and he was practically begging for the tag out once he saw Patterson building momentum. Richie managed to get close enough to the corner and tagged out, and Coach Dick actually put together some good offense, landing a couple nice chops. Unfortunately, the significantly older Coach Dick did not have as much energy as he'd thought, and Powerhouse Patterson quickly knocked him down. The Coach begins to crawl back to his corner, but Patterson pulls him back into the center of the ring. Pangrazzio rolls over onto his back and pegs Patterson with a big upkick that sends him back towards his own corner, and Pangrazzio rushes to his own to tag out to his son. Patterson tags out to Williams and the two men rush towards each other at a high speed, with Richie ducking under a big left hand and spinning Williams around to drop him with a huge jumping DDT. Coach Dick swings around the side to take care of Powerhouse Patterson and Richie scores the pin. The ring has been cleaned up after the carnage of the last three matches, and </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Richard Eisen</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> is back in the ring with another fan favorite, </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Antonio Moretti</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. Yes, it is time to induct another Supreme Superstar into the company Hall of Fame.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The time of night where we honor some of the all-time greats to which this company has played host. Earlier this evening, we honored one of the greatest to ever step in a Supreme Ring, and now, we honor the man that played his greatest rival. Antonio Moretti was another man who was never able to capture the elusive World Heavyweight Championship, but every time he stepped in the ring, he stole the show.</em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em> </em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>

Moretti was possibly one of our greatest in-ring performers, and although he wasn't much of a talker, he sure knew how to walk the walk. The first man to actually retire Ares Aegaleus, actually retired himself a few years back at The Challenge 1974, the three time King of Wrestling is here tonight to accept the greatest honor that wrestling has to offer; a spot in the SWF Hall of Fame. Ladies and gentlemen, Antonio Moretti!</em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Antonio Moretti:</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Richard said himself that I'm not much of a talker, but I think for tonight, I can make an exception. Five years ago I walked away from the ring and swore I was done for good. But then the business that I had given my all to for over thirty years came calling once more, and I just couldn't say no. I'm happy with my spot in this company, and I'm happy that I don't have to completely walk away from this part of my life. And believe me, if I could, I'd still be in that ring like Ares was, but I just couldn't do it anymore. I'm extremely appreciative for this honor, this is huge. To be a part of the first class of inductees will cement my legacy in this business further than any one performance could have. I had some really fun matches while I was in this ring, I had some hard matches, and I took some losses over the course of those matches. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you can be here, just like me. You just have to keep going and really dedicate yourself to this. There's no pretending to be a great wrestler. You have to be confident that you are one, and that... that is how you become one. This one moment validates all of my hard work over the last thirty years, and I'm glad that I can rest easy knowing that I have been recognized as a master of my trade. Thank you all!</em></span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rick Rumble</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> walks down the entrance ramp, in full ring gear, waiting for his nemesis. He paces around the ring, praying for him to show up, and just when it looks like he was out of a match for this evening's historic event, the lights went out. The lights faded back in lightly, and a red glow filled the arena; smoke covering the entrance ramp. He was there. </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Papa Voodoo</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> emerged from the smoky entry way, and began to make his way down the entrance ramp. It was time. Rick Rumble looked towards his girlfriend, </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Beautiful Babette</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">, at ringside and nodded his head towards her. An official made his way down to the ring once Papa Voodoo had stepped into the ring, and it looked like this was finally happening.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rick Rumble vs Papa Voodoo</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>

Last Man Standing Match</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The opening bell had sounded and until the closing bell did the same, it was no-holds barred action with only one man walking out in one piece. Papa Voodoo and Rick Rumble met in the center of the ring and after Rumble landed one clean shot to Voodoo's head, it was on. The two wildly swung at each other and did not let up until the action made it to the outside of the ring. Papa Voodoo and Rumble tumble over the top rope and hit the ground below; brawling the entire way down. Rumble unfortunately lands on the bottom and this allows Voodoo to plant some shots to his head, with nothing to separate Rumble's head from the ground below, he is forced to eat every shot at full force. Rumble manages to get Voodoo off of him and gets himself back on two feet, but it doesn't take long for him to get violently thrown into the steel barricades that separate the wrestlers from the fans. Rumble stays near the barricades and Voodoo rushes towards him at full speed, looking to plant a big knee in his rival's face. Rumble moves a split second before contact is made, and Voodoo launches a knee into the steel barricades and drops to his back in pain.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Rumble gets to his feet and capitalizes on the situation, firing off some big kicks to his downed opponent's chest. Voodoo eats all of the kicks, and struggles to get to his feet. Rumble finally lets up and regains some energy but that ends up being his first mistake of the match, as he turns his back on Voodoo and leaves himself open to being tossed into the ring posts. Rumble manages to stay on his feet but not for long, as Voodoo follows it up with a lightning quick spear tackle that sends Rumble right into the steps at ringside. Voodoo signals for the referee to start counting, but he only gets to four before Rumble gets back to his feet. Rumble quickly hops back into the ring before Voodoo can put hands on him, and as Voodoo crawls into the ring, Rumble plants a nasty punt kick into his gut. Voodoo remains on all fours as he tries to recover, but Rumble continues to unleash on him with nasty punts. Rumble calls for the count but unfortunately, the referee only gets to three before Voodoo starts to show signs of life, and five before he gets back to his feet.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

As if this match couldn't get more brutal for those involved, Rumble and Voodoo kick it up a notch. As a brawl ensues in the middle of the ring with both men swinging at each other back and forth, Rumble catches Voodoo with a big kick to the gut and plants him with a quick DDT, but as he goes to drag Voodoo around the ring, Voodoo pokes him in both eyes and Rumble hops away quickly to regain his vision. Voodoo hops back up to his feet relatively quickly and applies a tight sleeper hold and drags Rumble to the canvas. Rumble looks like he's going limp and the color is leaving his face, it looks like this might be over. Once Voodoo is confident that Rumble is unconscious, he drops his opponent on the canvas and signals the referee to start the count. It looks like this could be over, but once the count hits seven, the unthinkable happens. Rumble, who was thought to be unconscious by almost everyone in the ring, starts to show some signs of life, and he gets back to his knees by nine and saves the match. Rumble stares down his opponent and throws his hands up, signalling that he's still ready to go. Voodoo swings at him and Rumble ducks underneath and gets behind his opponent, hoisting him in the air and dropping him with a hard German suplex. Voodoo rolls back to his feet and, in doing so, collides with a massive running dropkick from Rumble. Rumble is building his momentum again, and he drags Voodoo to his feet and puts his hand on his neck. Rumble throws Voodoo's opposite arm across his own, and hoists him up with Voodoo's own finisher, a big Chokeslam from Rick Rumble! Rumble demands the count. The referee obliges, and once the count hits five, Rumble begins to look anxious. Voodoo still showing no signs of life, the count gets to eight, and then nine... and then ten. This match is over. Rick Rumble jumps for joy as his girlfriend hits the ring. Rumble hoists Babette in the air and continues to jump. He puts her down and walks over to his downed opponent. He crosses Voodoo's arms across his chest, and stands over his vanquished foe and raises his arms in celebration. Could this mean the end of the longstanding rivalry? It would seem so, for now.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Sid Streets vs Rocky Streets</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>

Rocky Streets' Retirement Match</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Rocky Streets is the first to make his way down to the ring. With no music playing in the background, Rocky takes his time, shaking hands with the fans in the front row and taking in the moment of his last walk to the ring as a Supreme Superstar. Rocky finally gets to the ring and the chorus of cheers fills the stadium. The applause become a standing ovation and for a few minutes, it's all about Rocky. The crowd doesn't return to their seats until Sid Streets' music hits and at that point, the arena is relatively quiet. Nobody wants to cheer for the man who is in it to end another man's career, let alone his own father's. The quiet soon turns to boos, but Sid is eating it up. Smiling and flexing his muscles the entire walk down to the ring. Sid finally gets to the ring and hops over the ropes, and the father and son stare each other down. What was a loving, caring moment shared between Rocky and his other son, Dusty, had lead to a tension-filled moment between Rocky and Sid. The calm before the storm had ended, and it was time to start the match. The opening bell sounds and the two move in to the center of the ring.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Rocky doesn't waste any time, not allowing Sid to get any offense off from the sound of the opening bell, he grabs Sid by the collar and throws him to the side. Sid rolls with it and gets back to his feet. Rocky decks Sid with a nice right hand and Sid backs off, feeling his face to make sure there's no blood, before diving right back in. Sid starts rattling off some right hands before ducking under Rocky's attempt at a response. Sid grabs Rocky from behind and tries to hoist him in the air, but Rocky keeps himself grounded and stuffs the suplex. Rocky, still being held, takes Sid for a ride with a nice hip toss that sends Sid to the ground. Sid rolls through once more and hops back to his feet, but meets a nasty clothesline that puts him down once more. Rocky keeps his hands up, waiting for his son to get back to his feet. Sid gets back to his feet eventually, albeit slower than before, and the two lock up in the center of the ring once more. Rocky fits in a nice European uppercut that shocks Sid, but not enough to stop him from responding with an uppercut of his own. Sid jumps out of desperation and plants two feet on Rocky's chest, and as Sid falls to the canvas, Rocky is sent into the ropes. Rocky bounces off the ropes and flies back at a downed Sid Streets, driving his knee into his son's head as he attempts to get back to his feet.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Rocky is looking stronger than ever, almost to the point of the fans wondering why he's even retiring. Things are starting to look grim for Sid Streets, who is struggling to put the pieces together. After being held down by a Rocky Streets arm-lock, Sid finally breaks free and goes on the offensive, throwing boots to Rocky's legs and chops to his chest. He connects with almost every single one, before he tosses Rocky into the opposite corner and follows it up with a nasty spear tackle. Rocky is now seated in the corner as Sid begins to celebrate, maybe a little prematurely, as Rocky gets his legs under him and gets back to his feet. Rocky fires off a right hand, but Sid responds with one of his own, and follows it up with a big kick to the gut and a snap suplex. Rocky is starting to look more and more sluggish as the match drags on, and the fiery brawler that started the match off was slowly becoming a defensive man holding on for his life. Sid goes to work with some submission holds, but to Rocky's credit, he held on and calmly worked his way out of them. Once the match hit the feet again, Sid looked to put it away, and that's exactly what he did. Sid dodged a wayward back-chop from Rocky and dropped his father with a </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Street Sweeper</em></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> to finish the match, and effectively, his father's career.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">---</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The dust had cleared. The match was over. </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rocky Streets</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">' long, storied career was over. </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Sid Streets</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> had taken his time to celebrate and made his way to the side of the ring and </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Dusty Streets</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> had begun walking down to the ring to meet his father and brother for his father's Hall of Fame induction. Then, the chants of 'Thank you, Rocky' filled the arena, and as Rocky stood in the center of the ring with his family, holding back the tears, he waved to all of the fans in attendance. </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Richard Eisen</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> soon followed with a microphone and with that, the ceremony had started.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

I want to thank Dusty for being with me, and sharing with me the only title I ever won in my wrestling career. And, as much as we've disagreed over the past few months, I want to thank Sid for pushing me to be a better wrestler ever since he showed up here. You boys both have a heck of a lot of talent, and I just want you guys to use it the right way. You both have what it takes to be champions, Dusty, you do you tonight, and Sid, when it's your time, it'll be your time. We're all gonna' miss you Rocky, it's been a hell of a ride.</em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The crowd looks stunned, as do Rocky & Dusty, but nonetheless, Dusty passes his brother the microphone and Sid begins to speak.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

You taught me to stick to my promises and I'm going to do that. All I want in this company is to feel respected, and I don't honestly feel like I can be respected with my dad here, taking care of me and making sure I get what I want because he has some kind of power. But I learned you can't get respect without giving it, so Dusty, I'm going to stay out of your way, just as long as you stay out of mine. After all, we are a family, just like you guys said. Dad, I love you, but it's your time to go. So, you know what they say. The family hugs it out and celebrate as the crowd returns to their chants of 'Thank you, Rocky'. One final standing ovation, and the Streets family has returned to the locker room. Whether or not Sid will follow through on his promise to stay out of his brothers way, we'll have to wait and see, but for now, it seems as if all is stable, and that's a good start.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>The Lunatics © vs Deadly Gamble</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>

SWF Tag Team Championships</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Deadly Gamble are the first to make their ways down to the ring. The two former champions, who won their belts last year at this very event, are looking more confident than they have in recent weeks, and hopefully that translates to their wrestling this evening. With Shawn Spades still missing, as of now, it's clear that this will indeed be a two on two affair, with no outside interference having an influence on the result of this match. After Deadly Gamble gets comfortable in the ring, the current champions, The Lunatics, make their ways down much to the delight of the crowd. The Lunatics wildly sprint down to the ring, slapping hands with everyone in sight before both slide in to the rings and hand off their championship belts to the time keeper before the sound of the opening bell.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Angus McCloud & Black Jack start things off for us this evening, and McCloud is quick to go on the offensive. McCloud pegs Black Jack with some quick rights before he throws him towards the ropes. Black Jack bounces back off of the ropes and drops McCloud with a nice shoulder block, but McCloud is quick to get back to his feet. The two go back and forth, trading rights, but Black Jack is the first to break, sending McCloud back into his own corner and tagging out to his partner, Ace. McQueen hops into the ring and as McCloud runs to the center of the ring, and collides with a hard spear tackle from McQueen. McQueen mounts his opponent and rattles off some rights and lefts before the referee pulls him off. McCloud is given a second to recover, but immediately jumps on an unsuspecting Ace McQueen and starts firing off some uppercuts, finishing it off with a hard knee to the gut.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

McCloud & Ace McQueen trade some more punches before McQueen flings the champion into the ropes. McCloud ducks under a clothesline as he's rebounding and uses the forward momentum to get to his own corner. Omura is tagged in, and the import jumps at the opportunity of wrestling on the biggest show of the year, wildly swinging punches and avoiding every single attempt at offense that McQueen has to offer. Omura ducks under a wild right hand and gets behind McQueen, and folds him over with a nasty over the knee back-breaker that sends McQueen flopping to the canvas below. Omura fires off a few stomps as McQueen tries to regain his composure. The challenger finally gets back to his feet, and blocks a hard right and pulls Omura in for the kill. McQueen wraps Omura up in a Full Nelson, and starts to throw him around without relinquishing the hold. Omura manages to break free but he is clearly in pain after being thrown around like that. As Omura clutches his neck region, he leaves himself open to a hard Irish Whip that leaves him behind enemy lines, and McQueen tags out to Black Jack and the two drive Omura into the canvas with a nasty double DDT.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Things then started to look bad for the champions, as Omura could not find a chance to tag out to his partner. McQueen cheers on his partner from the sidelines as Black Jack starts to build momentum, hitting Omura with everything but the kitchen sink. Omura gets caught with a left, then a right, then another left. Things are looking good for the former champions, and as Black Jack continues to pick up the pace, he sends Omura into his own corner by accident, and gives Omura the opportunity to tag out to Angus McCloud. McCloud hops into the ring but he is welcomed by a brutal clothesline from his opponent. Black Jack goes to work on the mat, applying a tight headlock. McCloud struggles to break free, and for a moment it looked like he was considering tapping. He muscles through the pain, and he just holds on long enough to survive as a familiar face bursts onto the scene.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i58.tinypic.com/2jcd1n6.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Shawn Spades</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">! It's Shawn Spades! The former Deadly Gamble associate comes rushing down to the ring and Ace McQueen doesn't know whether to smile or intercept him, as he is coming in hot. McQueen, knowing that a disqualification will result in them losing their shots at the title, hops off of the ring apron and rushes to the other side to stop Spades from getting into the ring, and the two take care of each other at ringside. Black Jack notices the scuffle going on and yells for Spades to leave, and at this point, McCloud sees his shot and drops him with a hard neck-breaker for the pin. The Lunatics defend their championships, but Shawn Spades is far from done.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Spades and Ace McQueen continue to brawl at ringside, and once Spades has dispatched of his (now) former associate, he makes his way into the ring. The brawl that ensues involves The Lunatics, Spades & Black Jack (who is caught in the mix, but still out of it). The four men swing at each other until The Lunatics flee the scene. With Spades the only man left in the ring, and the only one left standing, he raises his arms up in the air in celebration; he's finally back.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Sam Strong vs Micky Starr</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>

If Micky Starr Loses, He Retires</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

It was finally time. Arguably the most anticipated match of the night, if not the entire year, it was finally time. Sam Strong is the first to make his way down the entrance ramp. Strong flexes for the crowd in attendance, blows kisses towards the ladies, high fives some of the kids. Some would even think Strong was the hero in this one given the way he was playing to the crowd. But he was very much the opposite; Strong is playing the role of the spoiler. He finally makes his way down to the ring, and climbs up on to the top turnbuckle. Strong lets out a wild yell and flexes some more before hopping off of the top turnbuckle and waiting in the center of the ring for his opponent to emerge from the backstage area.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

And then, it was Micky's turn. The legendary 'Mighty' Micky Starr emerged from the backstage area. The lights had been dimmed. He appeared at the top of the entrance ramp, sporting a leather jacket with an American flag stitched into the material on his back. The crowd howled as Micky Starr's music hit, and he raised his hands in approval; he knew that this could be the last time he ever did this, so he was going to do it right. He slowly walked down to the ring, making sure to slap hands with everyone who was willing, and gave hugs to those he'd recognized from previous shows. Yes, this was truly a touching moment from a man who's back is against the wall. Micky stood outside of the ring for a brief moment as he locked eyes with his opponent. Strong smirked at him as he waited for him to enter the ring, but Starr held his ground. Micky continued to stare down his opponent as he slowly climbed onto the ring apron and made his way through the ropes. Starr and Strong face off and get closer and closer to each other, but Starr turns away and shrugs him off, running towards the turnbuckles and quickly climbing to the top, getting the crowd excited and ready for the match that is about to begin. Finally, he removes his leather jacket and tosses it to the time keeper; he was ready. The bell rings and it's finally time.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Micky and Sam slowly inch towards the center of the ring. Both extend their arms out, looking to feel the other out before jumping in with both feet. Both men lock hands, and quickly pull each other in, locking up. The two trade rights and lefts tentatively, but neither wants to make the first major move. Strong tries to fake Starr out, but he overcompensates as he pulls back and loses his balance. Starr takes advantage of his misstep, and pulls him back in for an Irish Whip. Strong bounces off the ropes, arm extended and comes running back. Starr ducks under a clothesline, and when Strong rebounds off the ropes again, Starr sends him up in the air with a big hip toss. Strong is quick to get back to his feet, but he's put right back down after a nice clothesline from Starr.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Starr and Strong lock up in the center of the ring once more, and this time Strong starts to out-muscle Starr from the start. Sam drags Micky wherever he pleases, throwing him into the corner with ease and hopping onto the middle ropes to rain down punches on his rival. Strong gets to ten as the crowd counts along, and the referee pulls him off to bring the action back to the center of the ring. Strong catches an incoming Micky Starr and throws him up in the air, Starr dropping back to the canvas directly onto his stomach. The long drop looks painful, painful enough for Strong to go for the pin. He barely gets the one count before Starr kicks out, and just like that, the two are back on their feet once more. Strong decks Starr with a big kick to the gut, but Starr fires back with a nasty uppercut that forces Strong to back down. The two stare each other down as Strong checks his face for blood.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Both men are looking more and more tired as the match drags on, and Starr is looking ragged. Strong is looking a little better at this point and he tries to take advantage of this fact, getting a hold of Micky Starr and putting him in a schoolyard headlock, dropping punches to the top of his head while the former champion struggles to break free. Strong gets too comfortable in his position though, as Starr out muscles him, hoisting him into the air and dropping him hard with a big back suplex. The two men lay on the canvas for a moment, taking some time to catch their breath. Strong is the first to show some signs of life, but Starr beats him to his feet and knocks Strong back to the ground with a hard boot to the stomach. Starr drags his opponent closer to the turnbuckles and he heads up top. Starr shows off a bit from the top turnbuckle before he leaps out towards Strong, elbow out, looking to make contact. It's a picture perfect elbow drop until Sam Strong moves out of the way at the last second. With Micky Starr clutching his elbow and curling up into the fetal position, Strong musters up the strength to go for the cover, but again, he only gets a two count before Starr finds the strength to break free.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

With both men looking like they're at their weakest, and with Starr still clutching his elbow in pain on the mat, Strong decides that it's his turn to head up top. Strong flexes on the top rope and regains some of his energy, but he looks like he's having trouble maintaining his balance. It's now or never though, as Micky Starr is starting to show signs of life and is working to get himself back to his feet. Starr is back on his knees though, and it looks like Strong is re-adjusting himself on the top turnbuckle. Starr gets to his feet just as Strong leaps out to the center of the ring, twisting himself in the air to go for a huge flying cross-body... but Starr catches him! With Strong in his arms, Starr hurls him backwards through the air with a lightning fast </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Starr Treatment</em></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">! Strong's crash landing leaves him unable to respond, and Starr sees his opportunity. He goes for the cover. The referee counts one, and a few members of the crowd are standing at this point. The referee counts two, and everyone is on their feet to see if it's really over. The referee's hand starts to come down, and it's almost as if time is slowing down the closer it gets to the ground. The referee counts three. The match is over; Micky Starr saves his career and manages to do what seemed impossible, he bested Sam Strong while his back was against the wall. Perhaps that's when he's at his best, after all, six years as 'the man' may have taught him more than we'd previously thought. Micky heads to the crowd to celebrate with the fans who'd believed in him and stood by him through the hardest of times, and as Sam Strong sulked his way to the back, possibly plotting his next move, we're left with the scene of an elated Micky Starr celebrating with those he loved the most; the fans.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Rip Chord © vs Dusty Streets</strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>

SWF World Heavyweight Championship</strong></span></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The biggest match of them all was upon us. After a match that many speculated to be the best match in the history of the Supreme Wrestling Federation, there was an even bigger one. The feud between Rip Chord & Dusty Streets had begun back in January, and although it remained dormant until Dusty Streets' appearance at Wrestling Classic, from the moment he won the King of the Squared Circle tournament, we knew that he was preparing for this moment. Dusty Streets emerged from the backstage area with his crown, signifying his last moments as the King of the Squared Circle, and slowly made his way down to the ring. The crowd in attendance cheered him on, with many chants of 'Lets go Dusty' filling the arena. Dusty slapped hands with many of the fans in attendance, like many of the fan favorites before him, and he eventually stepped through the ropes and awaited the man of the hour, the World Heavyweight Champion, Rip Chord. The lights dimmed as Dusty's music faded out, and for what seemed like hours, we awaited the arrival of, arguably, the most important man in professional wrestling.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The moment Rip Chord's music filled the arena, like a raging bull, he emerged from the backstage area, wrapped in his championship belt and his trademark leather jacket. He raised his arms in celebration, and although the match hadn't even started yet, few could blame him. Just by showing up, he'd accomplished more than every man, except one, in the history of professional wrestling had ever accomplished. He had held on to the World Heavyweight Championship of the largest promotion on the face of the earth for over a year, and win or lose, he had earned his place in the record books. Chord walked confidently, bordering on arrogantly, to the ring, disregarding everyone in the front row. He made his way to the ring quickly, and efficiently, although pausing to admire himself along the way. Chord stepped into the ring and handed his clothes & championship belt to the time keeper, and after Bob Johnson gave the introductions, the opening bell had sounded and we were ready to go.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

What happened after the opening bell was indescribable. There was no calm before the storm, and from the moment the bell had rung, the brawl had begun and there was no plan on stopping until the closing bell had sounded. Rip Chord rushed Dusty like a bat out of hell, firing off a barrage of left and rights that visibly stunned the challenger, but once he'd found a second to get away, he fired back with some shots of his own. Dusty landed a right, and then Chord fired back with a left. Dusty with a European uppercut, Chord with a short elbow to the chin. A back chop from Dusty, a boot to the gut from Chord. The two fired back at each other over and over until Chord folded his challenger over with a huge knee to the gut and immediately planted him with a </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Rip Chord DDT</em></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. Many of the fans in attendance gasped as they thought the match was already over, and that their beloved challenger would not last another minute. Chord went for the cover, and as the referee finished his count of two, Dusty kicked out. He'd done the impossible, he had survived a </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Rip Chord DDT</em></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> and would be able to tell the tale. The crowd erupted as their hero muscled his way back to his feet and began to fire back at the man the crowd had come to hate.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Chord, visibly discouraged that his finishing maneuver had been answered, desperately tried to regain control of the match. He fired off punch after punch, chop after chop, kick after kick, but it was never enough. The freight train that was Dusty Streets just kept moving forward. Dusty eventually managed to back the champion into the corner and let loose with a combination of punches that left Chord seated in the corner. Dusty drives a few knees into the chest of the champion before the referee pulls him out of the corner to bring the match back to the center of the ring. The crowd goes ballistic as the King of the Squared Circle starts to find his rhythm. Chord, woozy but still stable, gets back to his feet and moves towards the center of the ring. Dusty gets a little too eager and misses a clothesline. Chord responds by spinning him around and sending him to the mat with a lightning fast snap suplex. Chord goes for the pin again, but he barely gets a one count as Dusty kicks out just as quickly as he'd hit the ground. Dusty and Chord returned to their feet and Dusty began to take control, locking up with Chord in the center of the ring and sending him in whichever direction he wanted. Dusty sends Chord into the ropes with a hard Irish whip, and as Chord is on the rebound, Dusty drops him with a hard shoulder block. Chord hops right back to his feet and tries to pick up some speed by bouncing off the ropes again, but he is once again floored by another hard shoulder block. Dusty celebrates some more, slapping his hands together looking for his opportunity. Chord gets back to his feet, and stumbles into a </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Street Sweeper</em></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> from Dusty Streets! Dusty goes for the cover; he gets the one count, the two count, but Chord kicks out just before three!</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Dusty is looking more and more confident as the match goes on, and Chord is looking just the opposite; more and more discouraged. Chord gets caught with a hard right hand and stumbles back into the ropes, but as he's on the rebound he ducks under a clothesline and fires back by sweeping Dusty's legs out from under him. Chord grabs a hold of Dusty's legs as he's down and flips him over, going for a tight Boston Crab and for a moment it looks like Dusty's night is over. But it was anything but that, as Dusty managed to muscle through the pain and flip Chord over, effectively escaping the hold. The two men fight through their exhaustion to get back to their feet. They trade blows once more, Dusty with a right hand, Chord with a right hand; the brawl was just not meant to stop.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Rip and Dusty continue to swing at each other in the center of the ring, with neither man looking to back down from the fight. Chord is on the backpedal now, as Dusty chases him around the ring looking to lock up. Chord finally recovers enough and stands his ground and fires off a huge side kick to the head, and Dusty takes it right to the chin. Dusty is floored by the sheer power of the kick, and Chord leans on the ropes to regain some of his energy. Dusty slowly gets back to his feet, and he catches Chord rushing him from the corner of his eye, rolling out of the way of a huge punt kick in perfect timing. Dusty uses the turnbuckles to get back to his feet, and Chord gets hung up in the ropes after missing his punt. The two meet back in the center of the ring and lock up once more, Chord tries to fake Dusty out by dropping to a knee, but Dusty doesn't fall for it. Dusty tries to fake Chord out, but he overcompensates by ducking too low, and Chord takes advantage, driving him into the ground with another vicious </span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Rip Chord DDT</em></span></span><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">! With Dusty floored once more, and with both men completely drained, it doesn't look like he's getting up any time soon. Chord throws in a few kicks for good measure, and with every boot the crowd loses more and more hope in Dusty's chances to save himself once more. Chord goes for the cover. The referee slams his hand on the mat once, Chord nods his head in approval. The referee slams his hand on the canvas a second time, and the crowd gasps, some in fear, some in shock. The referee slams his hand on the canvas a third time. The match is over. Rip Chord has survived and defended his Supreme Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Championship once again, and has officially passed the one year mark. Dusty is still unconscious on the canvas, and he doesn't look like he'll be getting up before the paramedics show up. Rip Chord stumbles to the corner and raises his one hand in celebration; the other hand holding him up with the aid of the turnbuckle. But his night wasn't over yet...</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

With Chord in no condition to defend himself, or escape for that matter, the monster has the freedom to do whatever he wants. He mauls Chord in the center of the ring, dragging him from out of the corner and unceremoniously dropping him with a massive Spinebuster. He hoists him back to his feet, another Spinebuster! Chord is down and begging for mercy, but Thor isn't done yet. He hoists Chord up to his feet once more and tosses him into the corner. The speed at which Chord hit the corner resulted in him literally rebounding off the turnbuckle, and off of the rebound, Mighty Thor hit him with an vicious spear tackle that truly left him down for the count. With two bodies laying motionless around him, the show was officially over, and Thor stood between the two fallen men letting out an earth-shattering roar as the fans in attendance were left with a plethora of different emotions; shock, sadness, awe, and most of all... fear.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

<p>So, I hope that show isn't too much for one sitting <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I contemplated splitting into two parts but I couldn't really find a good break-up point, and I felt that the show flowed better as one post.</p><p> </p><p>

If anyone has any thoughts about the show, feel free to discuss in the thread or PM me as I'd be happy to talk about it and where this is going in the future. As this was the 'season finale' of sorts, some storylines will continue on but it's about as close as we're going to get to a fresh start moving forward.</p><p> </p><p>

Hope you enjoy the show!</p>

<span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><em>After the events that took place at The Challenge 1979, who will be the next star to emerge from the pack?</em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

We're two nights removed from The Challenge 1979, and what a show it was. Vladimir Grinkov & The Masked Patriot opened the show with a very solid match, but of course, Richard Eisen had to stick his nose into things and the match went to Grinkov. The Flames saga continued as Teddy defended his United States Championship, and Rick Rumble was finally able to conquer the beast that was Papa Voodoo. The Pangrazzios pulled off a surprise victory over The Hit Squad, and Rocky Streets finally said goodbye after a hard fought loss to his son, Sid.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

The biggest moments of the night, obviously, were found in the main matches. Deadly Gamble was unsuccessful in recovering their lost Tag Team Championships, but that was through no fault of their own, as the return of Shawn Spades played a large part in their loss. Because of Spades' distraction, Black Jack was pinned and the brawl that followed was one for the ages. The match that followed was the long anticipated match between Sam Strong and Micky Starr. Against all odds, with his back against the wall, Micky Starr overcame his fear and picked up the victory. Finally, in the main event of the night, a back and forth brawl resulted in Rip Chord surpassing the one year mark with the World Heavyweight Championship, as he bested Dusty Streets in a hard fought match that was worthy of the main event slot it was in.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

But now, as the fallout of The Challenge 1979 begins, it is a time for new contenders to emerge from the pack and become threats to the highly coveted World Heavyweight Championship. With the feuds between the Streets Family, as well as Rick Rumble & Papa Voodoo, seemingly over, who will become the focus of the promotion as they move forward. Will Marcus McKing finally receive some time in the spotlight, or maybe George DeColt? We'll have to wait and see.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Along with the fresh, new feuds that we'll be seeing in the coming weeks, what will happen between Sam Strong & Micky Starr, Dusty Streets & Rip Chord, as well as the ongoing story of Shawn Spades? We here at Pro Wrestling Illustrated can see the feud between Dusty Streets & Rip Chord continuing forward, at least up until Golden Dreams, but perhaps Micky Starr will use his forward momentum from his victory at The Challenge to catapult himself into the title picture once more. Of course it would make for some more great matches with Rip Chord, but maybe that's not what the booking committee wants. Either way, we'll just have to wait and see.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><span style="font-size:12px;">

...SWF Presents...

SUNDAY SLAMFEST

Micky Starr shows up in the ring, dressed in his street clothes, and with a microphone in hand. Coming off, what could easily be considered as the biggest victory of his career, Micky Starr saved his career at The Challenge 1979 by besting Sam Strong.

Micky Starr: When you realize your back is against the wall is often when you perform at your best. That is exactly how I felt this week at The Challenge 1979, I had something to prove. I had to prove to everyone that showed up that Micky Starr could still go, and boy, could Micky Starr still go, baby.

I've had to prove myself a countless amount of times here at the Supreme Wrestling Federation, but I never thought I'd have to do what I did last Thursday. I never though I'd have to fight for my career. But I did, and honestly, I think it brought the best out of me.

I never knew what I could do when push truly came to shove, but now I do. I know that I really am as good as they say I am, and for a long time, I doubted that.

But now it's Sam's turn; I had to chase him down for a long time because I was the one that had something to prove. But now that I've beaten him, the ball's in my court, and he's gotta' come get it.

To everyone that was here to watch on Thursday, I thank you. I couldn't have done it without you.

Kenny Maynard vs Cheatin' Mike Barstow

Anyone who'd seen Kenny Maynard on previous episodes of Sunday Slamfest knew that Barstow was in for a tough fight. Maynard shows off some of his newly acquired skills and tosses Barstow around with some flashy suplexes. Barstow tries to live up to his nickname, and although it was unsuccessful, his attempt at poking Maynard in the eyes to turn the match in his favor actually turned the crowd against him. After that, it was all Maynard, as he ran through his opponent, finishing him with a huge Super Kick that left Barstow unconscious and vulnerable to the pin.

Teddy Flame is standing backstage with Buddy Hollar, and he is holding onto his belt very tight, clutching it as it rests on his shoulder. Buddy asks him a few questions about his successful title defense at The Challenge 1979 and the two discuss the happenings a bit further.

Buddy Hollar: Good evening fans, I'm here with Teddy Flame and tonight we're gonna' be talking about The Challenge 1979. Teddy, you're hot off of another successful title defense, and fans are wondering, are we looking at another record breaker for the United States Championship? I mean, you've never looked better, and you're constantly pushing yourself more and more every time you step in the ring. How long do you see yourself holding that belt?

Teddy Flame: As long as I feel like holding it, Hollar. When I feel like givin' it up, I'll give it up.

Buddy Hollar: Fair enough, how did that victory on the biggest stage of them all compare to your past title defenses?

Teddy Flame: It felt great, Hollar, I think everyone knows who the better Flame is now, and there aren't any unanswered questions anymore. I backed up my talk and put my money where my mouth is, and honestly, Joey wasn't ever able to do that; he was all talk. I'm the real deal, and he's not.

Buddy Hollar: Do you think you'll ever face off with your brother again?

Teddy Flame: I don't see why I should have to, for real. I did my part, there's tons of guys that want to fight for this belt, why should Joey get priority just cause he's family and because he put up a decent fight? Doesn't work like that when I'm the holding this belt. I fight whoever I think deserves the shot, not whoever thinks they deserve it. Now, I'm gonna' head out, because honestly Buddy, I am sick of people talking about Joey Flame. I beat him, you should be asking about me, not him. I'm the United States Champion, he is a name on a record sheet of people that I've beaten this year. Seriously.

Wild Wild West vs The Hit Squad

Caldwell & Horn provide the Hit Squad with a very competitive match but unfortunately, they were facing off with a team that was full of anger and with revenge on their mind. The Hit Squad were truly men on a mission this evening as they systematically picked apart their opponents, tagging in and out of the match often and taking turns beating on the much less experienced Rick Horn & the much slower Cowboy Caldwell. The match came to an end when Powerhouse Patterson uncorked a huge boot to the gut and in turn, hoisted Cowboy Caldwell up in the air and dropped him unceremoniously with a huge Powerbomb. The Hit Squad pick up the victory in this quick tag-team affair.

---

Richie Pangrazzio Jr sits in the backstage area with his father, Coach Dick Pangrazzio, and having just seen The Hit Squad's performance on the live feed, they've got some things to say.

Coach Dick Pangrazzio: Seriously, those nobodies are still allowed on television after what we did to them this Thursday?

Richie Pangrazzio Jr: It just doesn't make sense, pops. What did these guys do to get themselves a match tonight. We won on Thursday, if anything that should be us out there killing it.

Coach Dick Pangrazzio: I think we need to have another serious talk with ol' Richard back there. I think he needs to take care of his priorities; and for the record, by priorities, I mean us.

Richie Pangrazzio Jr: It just doesn't make one bit of sense... I just don't get it. I'm the star, they're not. Williams can't get a clean win on me in a singles match, and Patterson's a washed up has-been that's holding on for dear life. It just doesn't add up. What do they have that we don't?

---

Deadly Gamble sit backstage, still stunned from the appearance of Shawn Spades at The Challenge 1979. The young man who'd been under their wing for so long had turned his back on them after returning from his disappearance, and in doing so, cost the former Tag Team Champions their shot at recovering the gold they'd previously lost.

Ace McQueen: Why would he do that? What did we do to deserve that?

Black Jack: Nothin', clearly somebody got to em' and told em' something he didn't want to hear. Ain't nothin' we coulda' done about it. I'm guessin' McCloud & Omura caught him backstage and told em' somethin' about us not really bein' there for em' and I guess that because we weren't there when he got jumped way back, he musta' believed them.

Ace McQueen: But that could've been our last title fight ever in this company, are we really gonna' let him get away with doing something so... so... selfish!

Black Jack: Tell you what, if we catch him walking around by himself, we'll return the favor. For now, lets just do what we can to get back in that title picture. First things first, get those belts back, and then we'll deal with that little punk.

Mighty Thor vs Chief Two Eagles

Very few people expected Chief Two Eagles to survive against the monster that is Mighty Thor, however, he did not only just that, he put up a good fight as well. Unfortunately, putting up a good fight is simply not enough when face to face with someone the sheer size of Thor, and as such, Eagles' fate was decided before the match even started. Thor pelted his opponent with huge overhand rights and chops, and threw him around the ring at will. Eagles was able to slide away from his opponent and throw a few hands but eventually, Thor would catch up with him and throw him around some more. The match came to an end after Thor caught a rebounding Chief Two Eagles with a huge spear tackle for the pin.

But Thor wasn't done, and following the match, he planned to send everyone in the backstage area another message. He grabbed Eagles and hoisted him back to his feet. Eagles begged and pleaded for it to be over but Thor refused to listen, throwing him to the nearest corner and setting himself up for another humongous spear tackle. The Chief lay in the corner in the perfect position, prone to the tackle, and Thor sprinted towards the corner and struck him with one of the most violent spear tackles ever seen in the history of the SWF. Thor let out another mighty roar as he stood in the center of the ring, grinning from ear to ear as his opponent sit, crumpled up in the corner.

Dusty Streets is walking backstage by himself. Off the heels of one of the most competitive title fights in the history of the company, he confidently walks around as he is proud of his performance on Thursday. Unfortunately, he runs into Sam Keith backstage, who taunts him for his loss to his mentor, Rip Chord:

Sam Keith: You're never gonna' get that belt you know. Not while Rip has it at least. He's really just too good.

Dusty Streets: Listen kid, when you get to main event a Challenge, then I'll take into consideration what you're saying. But for now, you're just a little fish trying to swim around in the deep end, and if you're not careful, a shark like myself might make you wish you never left the little pond.

Sam Keith: Last I checked this little fish beat the big shark a few weeks back, if I do recall correctly.

Dusty Streets: Well then congrats kid, but regardless, your opinion still means jack to me.

Sam Keith: You're probably gonna' be just like your dad. No world title, no nothin'. And you can't get into the Hall of Fame just cause you're Rocky Streets' son, no sir. Not a chance. You've peaked Dusty, just face it. Rip's better than you, and soon enough, you'll realize I'm better than you too. No shame in admitting it!

Clearly that one struck a nerve with Dusty, as he takes a swing at Chord's protege, but that may have been his biggest mistake to date, as Chord emerged from the nearby hallway and jumped his former challenger, pulling him off of Keith and tossing him into the wall. Keith & Chord blast Dusty with punches and kicks until he's unable to stand up, and they flee down the hall into their dressing room, leaving Streets nearly unconscious, praying for a medic to show up.

Corporal Doom vs The Masked Patriot

After his match at The Challenge 1979 was "influenced" by Richard Eisen, The Masked Patriot is looking to bounce back from his loss to Vladimir Grinkov just three days ago. Doom is no slouch though, and if The Masked Patriot is looking to pick up a win this evening, he'll have to get through one of the Supreme Wrestling Federation's toughest competitors. Patriot & Doom go back and forth in the ring, trading lefts and rights, but Patriot slips past a wayward right hand and drops Doom with a nasty swinging neckbreaker. Doom hops back to his feet relatively quickly, and fires back with a combination of rights that sends The Masked Patriot falling back into the ropes. As he rebounds, he's met with a hard shoulder block, but he hops back to his feet with ease. Doom drops him once more with another big shoulder block, but he makes a misstep and trips. Patriot tries to capitalize by going for the cover, but a familiar face is standing at ringside and they come face to face once more.

Vladimir Grinkov stands at ringside and stares his rival in the face. The Masked Patriot tells him to get lost, but the Russian stands his ground and doesn't move a muscle. As Patriot continues to stare him down, he doesn't realize that Doom has actually started to squirm a bit on the ground. He'd already broken free of the pin, but the two hadn't moved since Grinkov appeared at ringside; that is, until now. Doom sees his opportunity and flips The Masked Patriot over, going for the quick pin. The referee doesn't notice that Doom's one foot has been placed on the ropes, and he continues to count. Doom gets the three count, and Grinkov smiles as he backs away from the ring. The Masked Patriot has been cheated twice, and he is clearly not happy. Doom celebrates his victory as The Masked Patriot sits in the ring, devastated.

Bill Mitchell vs Marcus McKing

While many fans weren't expecting a massive main event considering the fact that The Challenge 1979 was just three days ago, even fewer expected Bill Mitchell to be headlining the first episode of Sunday Slamfest post-Challenge. Mitchell and McKing lock up in the center of the ring and for the majority of the match, the fans are counting how long Bill Mitchell will last with arguably the fastest rising star in the company, Marcus McKing. McKing fits in a few hard punches that catch Mitchell when he's not paying attention, and McKing starts to take control of the match from that point on. It seems that without his son, Lars, to carry him through the match, Bill Mitchell is feeling the effects of old age. McKing decides that it's time to put an end to this one but he's unable to convert the pin attempt to a victory, as Bill still shows some signs of life. Mitchell, unfortunately, doesn't last much longer as Marcus McKing starts to pick up speed as the match goes on, and Mitchell seems to do the opposite. McKing picks up the victory after putting him away with a nasty McKing Cutter to score the pin. That's the end of our show for this week, tune in next week for more of the Supreme Superstars and more Sunday Slamfest!

AMERICAN CLOSED CIRCUIT TV TO AIR SWF EVENTS

Starting at SWF Golden Dreams, fans of the company can pay to watch SWF events from the comfort of their own home.

It's the first deal of its kind in the business of professional wrestling, as the Supreme Wrestling Federation will be airing it's major events on closed circuit television, starting in October. Richard Eisen allegedly pulled the trigger on this deal due to some financial issues, the promotion bleeding money as the economy continues to drop in the United States. With this deal, Eisen is hoping that the extra revenue from event sales will inject the company with the money they need to continue putting on the extravagant events its fans have become accustomed to.

With big money contracts like Micky Starr, Sam Strong, George DeColt & Rip Chord, it's difficult to imagine how the SWF would continue to move forward if they ran out of funds to pay their top stars. While the roster has become somewhat bloated over the course of the last year, with a lot of the talent in the United States making the jump to the professional wrestling juggernaut in recent months. With Eisen not willing to fork over the money to pay off the wrestlers he no longer wants, he has allowed the bulk of the midcard to have some time on dark shows and house shows, but has not given them the time to shine on regular broadcasts. Hopefully this Closed Circuit deal will allow for more talent to reach a larger audience.

Our Pro Wrestling Illustrated prediction contest for Sunday Slamfest is also in, and our lucky winner (or winners) are: Midnightnick & smwilliams. Congratulations!
