[WIP] Unnamed Skin

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and gals, I started work on a new skin tonight. As I always do with stuff like this, I just work through in alphabetical order, but I wanted to get some feedback on this before I go further. Only the one screen done so far.

Do the curved buttons look alright? Does the colour scheme work well? Etc., Etc.

Any and all feedback is welcome. I like dark skins, hence the colour scheme.

I wanted to try something a little different, so went with the curve. It limits me as the background needs to be one solid colour, because the buttons are JPG so can't have transparency.

Also, I got bit bored of rectangles everywhere. :p

Very clean.

Some of the buttons in the search by content in the first image seems unaligned. Aside that, great work!

Thanks, never really noticed when I done it. But it was 00:30 here when I was finishing it off :p I'll fix that.

Throw some colour schemes at me, and I'll see what I can do?

Maybe various shades of blue (I'll let you be the judge of what you think looks best), shades of red, shades of green, maybe even some purple. And I mean for each color scheme to have its own skin, in case I didn't clarify.

Shouldn't be too hard. Because it all uses flat colours, saved in a high contract, it's pretty easy and straight forward just to use a colour swapper. Like this (ignore the grey buttons on it):

If anyone wanted to come up with some colour schemes then feel free too. I use http://www.colourlovers.com/ for my schemes. I'd need a background colour, text area colour, and border colour. Just remember that the text is white so the text area colours need to be dark enough to read white writing. :)

EDIT: In fact anyone with a photo editing software and some time would be able to swap colours and make their own colour schemes quite easily. :)

Here are two more screens, done nine screens so far, so only another 140 to go

Announcers

Belts

Initial thoughts? With the belts screen, buttons that are not clickable are not visible. Would this be a problem to other uses? To me, it makes sense.

I would keep the buttons, like they were switched off. Probably a shadow effect will help, if it's possible.

I tried that but because of the greys already used, it looks... Not quite right. I'll come back to it later, though.
