Cool/Weird/Funny Fights/Events, WMMA4 edition

Recommended Posts

Finally, in another quick watcher game, there were 3 fighters who made the move to start up another training camp. Love when that happens, but it's so rare (2015). Two of them are even still active fighters. The condition is probably that there's lots of fighters without camps? Another condition is that they're friends with another founder (Facchine is friends with both).

About Facchine. We knew she's a real stinker, but this?:

It's a small world in O+, but even then... :p

edit: this just in: Tonie snatched up the 2k19 and 2k20 awards too! Amazing...

It's also worth noting how WEFF100 and WEFF200 were by far the worst shows on paper, the main event being some mediocre, almost meaningless bout. Not that the AI should care, but it's funny how it's even worse than normal.

No wonder I rarely put her in fights against people I care about. She stinks up the joint with lay & pray and dirty boxing on the cage, but the judges seem to love that crap. I'm halfway through 2009 and she's had 10 fights in seven years. I just can't risk her doing the same to one of my marketable stars after she's done it several times already (Remi Ogata, Ayane Fujiwara, Ines Balsemao, Alyson Arroway, Tilde Fjell, Yuya Shimizu (when she was good) all lost by decision, and Konishi took until the end of round 3 to tap her). I have 11 'Poor' matches in my save so far. Facchine was involved in six of them. SIX! I have her fighting Alexandra Juhl next and I'm hoping Alex's 85% boxing power trumps Tonie's 73% chin, but I'm not optimistic about it.

Now that I've seen it happen with my own eyes, I can finally say it's not a unicorn. :p

Constanza Lopez is a 38 year old random gen (populate fighters) currently working under a dev contract with my child company Ring Warriors. Now we add to the cluster that is the overload of teams based in America.

Three times. IN A ROW!

I was glad when he lost. And then one of the next-day stories was about Morales acknowledging that he needed to work on some things. I hope "How Not To Suck" was one of those things.

I hate to necro a post but I have to say I have never had cheating happen to me ever in the game (I had one GAMMA game that went until 2011 and right now I have a second GAMMA game that is currently in 2004, so I have played the game a lot). That is awesome, is this something that happens on a regular basis?

Yes. :(

On a 20 fight card (10 prelim, 10 main), I'll see cage grabs get missed probably 8 times through the entire show. They'll get caught maybe 15% of the time.

<p>So, I just had to watch the final decline of one of my favorite fighters:</p><p>

<span>http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/Kension/HopeFloats.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

This is like Mike Tyson losing to Buster Douglas. Hope fought in this fight as if she didn't even want to be there. She didn't attempt a single takedown (while Natalie took her down at will) or submission. I wondered what the heck had happened when the #3 rated lightweight loses to the #18 rated lightweight. Then I saw it...</p><p> </p><p>

<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Kension/media/HopeHeart.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/Kension/th_HopeHeart.jpg</span></a></p><p> </p><p>

Look at the Heart rating. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Sharon King's render is actually used in O+. Doesn't it conflict with the other one? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The thing is: does it matter whether you get fantastic fights on the prelims? It might boost your critical rating somewhat, but do you really want to retain 0-15 people? In reality, people would just let them go as it's way too much administration. In the game, I guess you can retain them, but they are just filler. They have no use except to provide entertainment, really. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

As for Hope Lehane vs generated fighter (render should already be taken as well): why in God's name is this even a match? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I do like the heart rating declining. It's like Anderson Silva: in the end, you just don't care anymore.</p>

Render doesn't conflict because Sharon King's render has the fighter name and the generic one (which is the same thing) is named like a generic (CV FreePictures or f_black_0008 or something).

When said cans have 88+ marketability, there's no harm in keeping them around. They're good for fluffing the records of the more highly regarded fighters (momentum being as important as it is) and they never get particularly expensive. It's not too much administration because I can easily keep track. Anyone with a record below .500 is a can, especially if they produce -1200/+950 odds when matched with one of my "good" fighters. Besides, anyone I cut will wind up in Q-Cage within a week so I don't cut anybody. But I wasn't commenting on the fight's importance, just being surprised that two cans could produce a fantastic fight. Leona Cole started as a relatively highly regarded fighter (3-1) and then she hit a losing streak where she was upset 3 times and fell out of favor. Sharon King is 0-15 because the matchmaker is evil. She's never had a chance in any of those now 16 fights. She's always been the underdog and usually facing a -1000 or more favorite.

Hope got that fight because her last fight was a loss to the lightweight champ. So I needed to get her back on a winning streak (stoke them flames) but now, yeah, nevermind. But even with a loss, Hope has enough name value to at least qualify for the main card, regardless of who she's paired with. Well, unless she has skulls then I just have to deal with it being considered a prelim fight (though her name value definitely fluffs the show's commercial rating). I'll probably chase her into retirement at this point.

If Hope's marketability / name value is still high enough, I would have her be a gatekeeper, using her to test up and coming prospects. That way when she either retires or you cut her, you'll at least have some new stars to can step up to take her place.

I do this already. The only reason Hope stays in the top-5 is because several people in the top 10 are afraid to face her (or were) saying she is 'too much of a step up in competition". But that's what I typically do with aging stars. I pit them against my up & comers and chase them into retirement. Michelle Addams just retired a few months after losing to Mei Tanba and Gianna Russo.

And I don't cut fighters at all. The only way out of my WEFF is retirement or death. Anyone I cut, my competition (in this case, Q-Cage) will immediately sign and would make their roster significantly stronger. But she'll fight again, assuming she doesn't quit prior to me being able to schedule her.

Dear god, I do hope your fighters read their 30-page contract, unlike in the UFC. :p

Actually, to put it like that sounds worse that it is.

Well, theoretically they can choose not to re-sign with me (kinda like Rampage did with UFC). But then they'd have to live with making less money (per fight and/or potential earnings) working for a second rate MMA company fighting people who probably wouldn't be able to make the main card of even a televised show (much less a PPV)......like Rampage did. :p

Right now, I'm just minting Hall of Famers. But I'm keeping my foot on the throat of Q-Cage (and Amazon, who are 79.4% into HLR) to prevent interference. One more show and DRAGON will be deep enough in debt for me to take them over. Then I can raid AMAZON's roster and send their workers to DRAGON, eliminating them as a threat.

I've signed a girl, Riku Inao. She's a regen, world class Muay Thai.

I book Riku vs Inga Grigoreva, i was thinking "man, it will be a fantastic match, with back and forth action, Inga will swing til death"

The match begin. Inga Takedown Riku and sub her with a Kimura. Meh.
