Bob Caudle

Welcome fans to another great action packed episode. Today you will see the American Dream Dusty Rhodes is here,Rick Steamboat in action against Pvt.Jim Nelson a member of Sgt.Slaughter's Cobra Corps, U.S.Champion Greg Valentine defends against the big Freight Train Rufus R.Jones. But first let me bring out Exotic Adrian Street with Miss Linda.

Adrian Street

Those are some beasts you named off. It's so bad it sends shivers down my spine brrr.

Bob Caudle

You gave Vinnie Valentino an Exotic Make Over not too long ago.

Adrian Street

I made him beautiful did I not? And I will continue to provide my services for as long as I deem fit. Now if you don't mind I see someone in need of my special skills.

(Street/Miss Linda make their way to the ring to take on Tim Horner)

Adrian Street defeated Tim Horner w/Sleeper.

Horner showed some pluck putting up a good if short fight against Exotic Adrian. Street caught

Horner in the sleeper to get the win. After the match Miss Linda held Horner's head up while Adrian applied lipstick and rouge to Horner. In a twist Miss Linda pulled out a Polaroid Instant camera and took a picture as Adrian posed with an unconscious Horner. Adrian took the photo waving it in air down to Bob Caudle.

Adrian Street

Just a little souvenir of my work. Isn’t he lovely now?

United States Heavyweight Title

(The Hammer prepares to defend his U.S. Title)

Greg Valentine-Champion defeated Rufus R. Jones w/ Figure Four Leglock

Valentine refused to release the figure-four after getting the submission even going so far as to grab the ropes to leverage more pressure on the knee of Jones. Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant came out to the ring and he and Valentine went at it. Valiant got the better of the exchange catching Valentine off the ropes with an elbow smash. Valentine dropped to the mat, rolled out and grabbed his U.S. title. Valiant checked on Jones who had to be helped to the back.

Greg Valentine

Bob Caudle who does Valiant think he is, what gives hime the right to interfere in my match?

Bob Caudle

Greg you had already beaten the man and looked to be just trying to injure him.

Greg Valentine

You are not a wrestler and never have been Bob, the figure four is a very intricate hold to apply and to release. The referee would not help so I was using the ropes to try and alleviate the pressure and release it before anything happened to Jones but then Valiant has to come in attacking me with no provocation.

Bob Caudle

I guess that's your story.

(Jimmy Valiant comes out again and attacks Valentine, they slug it out on the floor eventually rolling into the ring. Valentine gets the advantage and hammers away at Valiant with forearm smashes. Valiant down, Valentine grabs the leg and looks to put the figure four on. Valiant kicks Valentine off who falls through the ropes. Valentine gets up, grabs his U.S. title from Bob Caudles podium.

Greg Valentine

Valiant I'll take care of you one way or another. You hear me!

Valiant stands in the ring begging Valentine to get back in there with him. Valentine disappears to the back.

(Jimmy Valiant joins Bob Caudle)

Jimmy Valiant

Look there Bobby it was a Greggy Valentine sighting. He's like the Boogie Man's Bigfoot, just when I think I'm getting close he disappears.

Bob Caudle

It's good you came out and stopped him from doing too much damage to Rufus's leg.

Jimmy Valiant

Let me tell you something Bobby, Valentine tries to hurt any of the Boogie Man's people, the Boogie Man is gonna be there to stop him wooo daddy because Boogie loves all the people and the people all love Handsome Jimmy!

(Another big kiss for Bob Caudle and another look of disgust as Valiant leaves)

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/dizzyh_zps9lavunss.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/dizzyh_zps9lavunss.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo dizzyh_zps9lavunss.jpg"/></a>

(An impressive Dizzy Hogan)

Sweet Brown Sugar/Dizzy Hogan defeated The Ninja/Ricky Harris

Hogan pinned the Ninja w/Legdrop after Sweet Brown Sugar hit a headbutt from the outside.

Bob Caudle

I'm joined by the American Dream Dusty Rhodes.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/Classic-Dusty_zpsvgmpin4h.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/Classic-Dusty_zpsvgmpin4h.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Classic-Dusty_zpsvgmpin4h.jpg"/></a>

Dusty Rhodes

Bob Caudle, you know the Dream hasn't been up much in Mid-Atlantic lately and you know why. Because there are doubters out there in the world of professional wrestling who question the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Who question my motives, who question my desires, who worst of all questions what is in the heart and mind of Dusty Rhodes. I'm here to tell everyone watching and all through the wrestling world that Dusty Rhodes has not and will never turn his back on what is the American Dream. That this son of a plumber will always be there to fight the good fight, to help whoever I can whenever I can, to fight the evil in this world and that is what the American Dream is all about. But the American Dream is also about getting your little piece of the pie and if I get the chance to step in the ring against Ric Flair or whoever is the NWA World Champion well you can best believe that Dusty Rhodes is gonna go for his American Dream too.

The Great Kabuki w/ Gary Hart defeated Mike George w/Thrust Kick

Jouneyman Mike George gave Kabuki some problems early on being heavier and stronger but Kabuki being more annoyed than actually hurt took control of the match and never lost it.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/kabukiring_zps2dhkr1o7.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/kabukiring_zps2dhkr1o7.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo kabukiring_zps2dhkr1o7.jpg"/></a>

(The face of evil?)

Gary Hart

Bob Caudle as you can see here Kabuki being a master of all martial arts disciplines was taught to use a n opponents size and strength against them and that's exactly what he's doing. Mike George is a fine wrestler, good amateur skills but against Kaubki those skills are meaningless.

Gary Hart

Now let's get down to some serious business. I heard Dusty Rhodes out here talking about how people ain't believing in the Dream no more. That his ultimate reason for doing what he does is being questioned. Well Rhodes all I can say is it's about time. You talk of fighting the good fight but I know that you never let the good fight get in the way of your ego. An ego as massive as that belly of yours.

You talk of fighting evil in the world Rhodes, look at Kabuki, this is evil, this is malevolence, this is a nightmare. So Rhodes you want to step up and put the American Dream against the nightmare of the Great Kabuki then bring it on Rhodes.

Bob Caudle

Gary Hart issuing a challenge to the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. It's not a question of if Dusty will answer it only a matter of when. Up next fans Pvt. Nelson takes on Rick Steamboat.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/rickysteamboat4200x250_zpsuagorkdi.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/rickysteamboat4200x250_zpsuagorkdi.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo rickysteamboat4200x250_zpsuagorkdi.jpg"/></a>]

(Youngblood/Steamboat uncrowned champions)

Rick Steamboat defeated Pvt.Nelson w/Sgt. Slaughter

Before the match Slaughter gave Nelson his orders. “Attack the enemy, when you have him down show no mercy. I don't want you to just pin this man, I don't want you to just beat this man, I want you to embarrass this man. Am I understood private?” Nelson “Yes sir!”

Pvt.Nelson went after Steamboat aggressively with Slaughter urging him on from outside the ring.

Steamboat seemed to be in a trouble from the relentlesss attack. With things well in hand Sgt. Slaughter made his way over to Bob Caudle to offer some of his insight into the match.

Bob Caudle

Pvt.Nelson seems to have Rick Steamboat under control.

Sgt.Slaughter

Of course he does Bob Caudle, Pvt.Nelson is under my brilliant guidance. Steamboat,Youngblood and anybody else in Mid-Atlantic doesn't stand a chance against any of the Cobra Corps.

Steamboat caught Nelson with a dropkick which got Slaughter's attention who came back over to ringside. Steamboat with chops in the corner A whip to the opposite corner and a flying head scissors by Steamboat took Nelson down. Slaughter livid at ringside began pounding on the ring apron.

“Get up Private!” Steamboat went to the top rope and hit a chop to the top of Nelson's head. Steamboat went for a cover. The ref counted 2 but Slaughter pulled Steamboat from the outside breaking up the pin. The referee argued with Slaughter who denied doing anything. Steamboat caught Nelson with a crossbody block but the ref being occupied with Slaughter didn't see the pin which could of easily gone to 4 or 5. Steamboat went to the top rope again, the referee checking on Pvt.Nelson didn't see Slaughter hop on the ring apron and push Steamboat off who crashed to the mat. Slaughter yelled at Nelson to “Get him!” and motioned for Nelson to put on the Cobra Clutch. Nelson shook the cobwebs and clamped on the Cobra Clutch.Steamboat struggled for all he was worth.

(Slaughter rejoined Bob Caudle)

Sgt.Slaughter

You see that Caudle, this match is all but over nobody breaks the Cobra Clutch.

Steamboat refused to submit as Nelson applied more pressure. Steamboat searched for someway to get free. Finally Steamboat inched his way to the corner and pushed off with his feet falling backwards. It was just enough to get Pvt.Nelson to let go of the Cobra Clutch. Slaughter had seen enough and charged into the ring. Steamboat turned around and was hit with a Slaughter clothesline. The referee called for the bell and disqualified Pvt.Nelson for outside interference. Slaughter grabbed Steamboat and locked in his Cobra Clutch. There was nothing Steamboat could do. Jay Youngblood jumped in the ring to save his tag team partner. Pvt.Nelson attack Youngblood but was tossed to the floor. As Youngblood attacked Slaughter, Slaughter's partner Don Kernoodle jumped Youngblood. Slaughter still had Steamboat trapped in the Cobra Clutch. Pvt.Nelson and Kernoodle beat down Youngblood. Slaughter finally tossed a semi conscious Steamboat aside and demanded that Nelson/Kernoodle hold up Youngblood. Slaughter hit a clothesline on Youngblood. From the back came Jack/Jerry Brisco who tossed Kernoodle from the ring. Slaughter jumped from the ring leaving Pvt.Nelson for the Briscos. Nelson realizing his situation pleaded for mercy. Both Briscos grabbed Nelson and threw him unceremoniously through the ropes. A weary Youngblood checked on Steamboat as the Briscos motioned that they were going to be the next NWA Tag Team Champions.

Bob Caudle

That's it fans,we are out of time see you next time.

(Mad Dog Vachon/Baron Von Raschke go Weasel hunting in Winnipeg)

Heenan left the ring, refusing to wrestle Vachon. A loud "WEASEL" chant broke out which only hastened Heenan's departure.

Rick Martel defeated Dr.D David Schultz w/Cross Bodyblock. Schultz was upset claiming Martel used a handful

of tights.Schultz then tried to attack Martel who fought back and was able to drive Dr.D off.

Bobby Heenan returned at the side of Jesse the Body Ventura who defeated Jumping Jim Brunzell

Ventura stalled for a few minutes posing in the ring before actually locking up with Brunzell. The fans continued the "WEASEL" chant much to Heenan's chagrin. Ventura eventually won w/elbow drop off the ropes.

Ray The Crippler Stevens/Wahoo McDaniel defeated AWA World Champion Nick Bockwinkel/Blackjack Lanza w/Bobby The Brain Heenan

There was alot of miscommunication and obvious tension between Heenan and Lanza. Heenan was berating Lanza at ringside for something, with both distracted Bockwinkel was left at the mercy of McDaniel and Stevens. Twice Lanza missed Bockwinkel's attempts to tag because of Heenan's constant yelling at ringside.

McDaniel pinned Bockwinkel after a series of chops, finished off with a Big Tomahawk Chop.

After the match, Lanza, tried to check on Bockwinkel but was pushed away. Heenan could be heard yelling "this is all your fault." Heenan and Bockwinkel walked away leaving Lanza alone in the ring.

Chicago,Ill, International Amphitheater

Billy Robinson wrestled to a 15 minute draw with Mr.Saito

Both men showed their technical skill, hold-counter hold. Saito using the same skills and talent that got him to the Olympics in 1964 with a variety of suplexes. Robinson not to be outdone used what he had learned in 8 years at the fabled Snake Pit in Wigan,Manchester England grinding

away at Saito with locks and painful submissions. Saito did try and take shortcuts but it didn't last too long as the British Empire Champion would have none of that. Eventually time just ran out for these

2 evenly matched competitors.

Jesse the Body Ventura/Big Bad Bobby Duncum w/Bobby The Brain Heenan defeated Baron Von Raschke The Crusher. Raschke was pinned by Ventura. A stipulation was put in place by AWA President Stanley Blackburn that the only way Ventura/Duncum would get a title shot at the High Flyers was to beat Raschke/Crusher in this match. The Baron and the Crusher seemed to have the

match well in hand until of course the Brain decided to get involved turning the tide for his “ultimate tag team”. Duncum got the advantage on the Crusher isolating him away from his corner. Every time

Crusher got close to a tag, Heenan would distract Raschke who would give chase. Ventura tagged in dropped an elbow on Milwaukee's finest, then decided it was a good time to hit some double bicep poses. Crusher fought back stunning the Body. A big back drop on Ventura and a tag to the Baron.

A little goose-stepping and the Claw to Ventura. Heenan was upset jumping up on the ring apron.

Crusher came in and went right after Heenan chasing him around the ring and to the dressing rooms. This distraction allowed Duncum to come in and come off the 2nd buckle with a double ax sledge to Von Raschke. A quick Bulldog by Duncum. Ventura off the ropes with an elbow drop and a handful of tights gets the win for the Heenan Family.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/duncum_zpsalfxf9gi.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/duncum_zpsalfxf9gi.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo duncum_zpsalfxf9gi.jpg"/></a>

(Duncum/Ventura next stop the High Flyers)

Sheik Jerry Blackwell w/Sheik Adnan Al Kassey defeated Jumping Jim Brunzell.

Brunzell was holding his own against the “Mountain from Stone Mountain”Jerry Blackwell.

Sheik Adnan Al Kassey still wearing that cast on his slow healing arm tried to get involved.

Brunzell was thrown to the floor by Blackwell. While Blackwell distracted the ref, the Sheik tried to hit Brunzell with cast. Brunzell blocked it and ran the Sheik's arm into the ring post. Kassey held his arm in pain. Brunzell climbed on the apron, rammed his shoulder into Blackwell's mid-section twice doubling up the big man. Brunzell came over the top rope, over Blackwell for a Sunset Flip. Brunzell couldn't pull all 450lbs down. Blackwell just dropped on to Brunzell's chest, held on to the ropes as the ref counted 3. After the match Blackwell pulled Brunzell up and held him as the Sheik got in the ring preparing to hit Brunzell with the cast as retaliation for what happened earlier in the match. Kassey struck,Brunzell got free, Kassey nailed Blackwell instead who fell like a redwood in the forest. Brunzell grabbed Kassey's arm and rammed the cast into the Sheik's own head. A patented Brunzell dropkick sent Kassey the rest of the way out of the ring.

The Incredible Hulk Hogan defeatedOlympic Strongman Ken Patera w/Bobby The Brain Heenan.

Stipulation for this match was if Hogan beat Patera he got 5 minutes with Heenan. Heenan followed Patera to the ring. The Brain got on the house mic saying “there is no way Hogan will ever get his hands on me.” Eye of The Tiger blared in the International Amphitheater bringing the crowd to their feet. Hogan came out to the ring, security having to hold back the fans for Hogan to make it to the ring. Hogan got in the ring pointed at both Patera and Heenan and tore his “We Want the Belt” t-shirt off tossing it to the crowd. Patera and Heenan huddled as the ref demanded the match start. Heenan kept stalling until Hogan added his 2 cents and smashed Patera and Heenan's heads together. Heenan fell out of the ring and Hogan went after the Olympic Strongman. Hogan nailed Patera with fists, backing him into a corner. A whip to the opposite corner, Hogan followed with a clothesline on Patera. Heenan at ringside pleading with Patera to do something. Hogan picked Patera up for a big bodyslam. Hogan off the ropes with an elbow drop, Patera rolls away, Hogan misses. Heenan yelling at Patera to “get him while he's down!” Patera drops a pair of elbows of his own. A vertical suplex by Patera on Hogan and a slight sense of relief comes over the Brain. Patera begins working on Hogan's back driving knees into it. A backbreaker gets 2. Heenan yells to “finish him already!”Patera says “he's done!” Patera lifts Hogan in a bear hug.The crowd comes alive trying to motivate the Hulkster. Hogan fights out of it but Patera has enough where with all to ram Hogan back into the corner, Hogan slumps, Patera with shoulders into the mid-section. A snap mare by Patera followed by boots to the back. Patera buries a knee in the back and locks on a rear chinlock. The crowd begins chanting “HOGAN! HOGAN!”. Bobby Heenan yells at the crowd “SHUT UP!”. Hogan begins fighting back. He grabs Patera's wrists and starts pulling them apart, the crowd gets louder and louder. Hogan gets to one foot, Heenan is panicking at ringside. Hogan on both feet now, Patera with headbutt to the back, Hogan winces in pain. Patera grabs Hogan and hits a belly to back suplex. Patera up and poses for the crowd who boos him. Patera back on Hogan and starts hammering away, the crowd again chants for the Hulkster. The louder the crowd gets the less Patera's blows have on Hogan, Hogan to his feet, the crowd energizing him blocks Patera's punch and begins a barrage of his own staggering the Olympic Strongman. A whip to the ropes by Hogan, elbow to the head of Patera drops him to the mat. Hogan picks Patera back up, whip to the corner, clothesline by Hogan. Whip to the opposite corner and another clothesline. Patera staggers out of the corner and flops face first to the mat. The crowd is electric now. Hogan off the ropes, Big Legdrop and a cover. Referee counts 1.2.3. Hogan pins Patera.

Hogan gets his 5 minutes with Bobby Heenan. The ref sent Patera to the locker room, Patera refused, the ref then threatened to fine Patera and Heenan if Patera didn't leave. After a quick conference with Bobby Heenan, Patera made his way to the back. This left Heenan alone with Hogan. Heenan was hesitant to get in the ring to say the least. The ref signaled for the bell and the 5 minute countdown started. Heenan refused to get in the ring, stalling as much as possible. AWA President Stanley Blackburn sitting at ringside said if Heenan didn't get in the ring by a count of 10 he would be suspended for 30 days Heenan argued with Blackburn as the ref started to count. The ref got to 8 when Heenan finally relented and stepped Hogan was even gracious enough to hold the ropes open. Heenan wanted Hogan to back away. Hogan stepped to the middle of the ring. Heenan tried to stall on the ring apron. Hogan finally had enough and dragged Heenan over the top rope into the ring. Heenan begged for mercy. None was to be found. Hogan punched Heenan silly. A bodyslam that could have sent Heenan through the ring. Hogan whipped Heenan to the corner following up with clothesline. Heenan

flopped out of to the mat. Hogan taking great pleasure in punishing the man who has caused nothing but problems for him. Heenan got to his feet, Hogan poked Heenan in the eyes, raked the Heenan's back with his nails, dragged Heenan's forehead across the top rope. The Brain bailed out of the ring to

try and escape to the back but Hogan gave chase and caught Heenan carrying him back to the ring. Hogan pointed at the ring post, the crowd cheered their approval. Hogan ran Heenan into the post. Hogan pulled Heenan up who was gushing blood now. Hogan tossed Heenan into the ring and clawed at the wound as the 5 minutes expired. One last toss of Heenan over the top rope to the floor by Hogan to the cheers of the crowd. Ken Patera and Jesse Ventura came out to help their fallen manager. Ventura got on the apron and yelled that “there's gonna be payback for this chump Hogan!” Hogan pointed at Ventura and posed for the fans.

AWA World Title Match

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/awatitle_zpsll9iq7cb.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/awatitle_zpsll9iq7cb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo awatitle_zpsll9iq7cb.jpg"/></a>

Nick Bockwinkel defeated Rick Martel to retain the AWA World title.

Martel the good looking talented young man from Quebec went up against the wily veteran Bockwinkel who was without manager Bobby Heenan after Hulk Hogan got done with him earlier. Both men matched up well for the 1st part of the match, exchanging holds, Bockwinkel surprisingly wrestled Martel cleanly, perhaps a begrudging show of respect but it was not to last. Martel got one too many near falls for Bockwinkel's liking and Bockwinkel began taking liberties when the opportunity presented itself. Bockwinkel choked Martel across the 2nd rope, raked the challenger's back and eyes. Bockwinkel caught Martel off the ropes in an abdominal stretch, used the ropes for extra leverage. Martel finally fought out of it and hip tossed Bockwinkel to the mat. Martel hurting couldn't follow up. Bockwinkel moved in an attempted a piledriver, Martel found the strength to power out of the piledriver and flip the champ over. Martel seemed to catch his second wind and fought back hammering at Bockwinkel. A crossbody off the ropes got a 2 count. Martel hit a succession of dropkicks getting another 2 count. Martel with a backbreaker then locked in a Boston Crab. Bockwinkel was inches away from the ropes and fought tooth and nail for each inch finally grabbing the bottom rope causing the ref to break the hold. Bockwinkel crawled out to the floor to try and get a restbit from Martel but the popular Canadian was relentless possibly feeling that the champ was vulnerable this night grabbed Bockwinkel bouncing his head off the ring apron. Martel tossed Bockwinkel back in the ring. Martel on the apron springboarded over the top with splash onto Bockwinkel. The ref counted 2 and was about to count 3 when he saw Bockwinkel's leg draped across the bottom rope. Martel thought for sure that he had pinned the World Champion but the referee said no, only a 2 count. Turning his attention back to Bockwinkel, Martel was met with a fist buried deep in the midsection. Bockwinkel grabbed Martel running him head first into a turnbuckle, a second time, but a third time was one too many, Martel blocked and ran Bockwinkel into the buckle. A whip to the opposite corner, Martel followed up with a flying head scissors. Bockwinkel staggers backwards, Martel charges, Bockwinkel back drops Martel who goes over the top rope but lands on the ring apron.Bockwinkel turns around, shoulderblock from Martel doubles up the champion. Martel over the top with a sunset flip, Bockwinkel desperately grabs at the top ropes to hold himself up, Martel struggles to pull Bockwinkel over. Referee Marty Miller kicks Bockwinkel's hands off the ropes sending him to the mat. Miller drops down and counts 1.2..no Bockwinkel reverses it and grabs the ropes for extra leverage and gets the 1.2.3. Martel can't believe he got pinned, he argues with the ref that Bockwinkel used the ropes and Bockwinkel stumbles back held up by the corner. Martel's temper gets fired up and he goes after Bockwinkel tossing him over the top rope to the floor before being stopped by the referee. Bockwinkel is handed his title and raises it in victory while Martel stands in the ring frustrated at being so close to becoming AWA World Champion.

St Paul Civic Center, St. Paul, MN.

A very detailed report from St.Paul

Brad Rheingans defeated Curt Hennig w/ a Cradle Rollup

2 up and comers in the AWA. Hennig, a second generation wrestler and son of AWA legend Larry The Ax Hennig. Rheingans a member of the ill fated 1980 United States Olympic wrestling team. A pre-match handshake between the two gave an indication of what we might expect in the match.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/0040b917-c677-4089-a31e-84ca8f694b0b_zpskzte5fud.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/0040b917-c677-4089-a31e-84ca8f694b0b_zpskzte5fud.png" border="0" alt=" photo 0040b917-c677-4089-a31e-84ca8f694b0b_zpskzte5fud.png"/></a>

Rheingans gained the early advantage grabbing a side headlock and taking Hennig down to the mat. Hennig got back to his feet, threw Rheingans off to the ropes and got hit with a shoulder block that sent the young Hennig down to the mat. Hennig got back up, lockup. This time Hennig with a headlock taking Rheingans down. Rheingans was able to escape and place Hennig in a head scissors. Hennig popped out of it and went back to the headlock. Again Rheingans with the head scissors, this time Hennig flipped over onto Rheingans who grabbed Hennig around the waist, bridging up to his feet and turned it into a backslide on Hennig that got a quick 2 count. Hennig, the quicker of the 2 was up first and caught Rheingans with a Knee Lift sending the Olympian down to the mat. Hennig grabbed Rheingans backed him into the corner,a couple of forearm smashes to the side of the head and Hennig sent Rheingans across the ring to the opposite corner. Rheingans popped out of the corner and Hennig hit the move his father made famous “The Ax”(elbow to the top of the head). Rheingans went down. Hennig dived on top getting a 2 count. Hennig with a Suplex. Hennig up to the top rope but is warned by referee Marty Miller that coming off the top rope is cause for disqualification. Hennig moves down to the 2nd rope. Missile Dropkick to Rheingans sends him sprawling backwards on the mat. Hennig again pounced on top Rheingans, again getting a 2 count. AWA World Tag Team Match

The High Flyers(Greg Gagne/Jumping Jim Brunzell)-Champions defeated Big,Bad Bobby Duncum/Jesse The Body Ventura w/Bobby The Brain Heenan to retain the titles. Brunzell made Duncum submit to a Figure-Four Leglock.

Ventura/Duncum earned this title match by defeating Baron Von Raschke/The Crusher in Chicago. Accompanied by The Brain Bobby Heenan, Duncum and Ventura got the full brunt of the crowds wrath. A loud “Weasel” chant from 10,000 strong in the St.Paul Civic Center irritated Heenan so much that he got on the house mic and demanded they “Quit calling me a weasel and show some proper respect for the next tag team champions of the world!”. It didn't quite work out that way as if it was possible the chant got louder. It wasn't to last though as the popular tag team champions Greg Gagne and Jumping Jim Brunzell, collectively know as the High Flyers made their way to the ring. Immediately a verbal confrontation happened between all 5 men. Ventura posed and showed off his impressive muscular development. The tag titles were held up in the air by the referee before being handed off to the timekeeper.

Brunzell and Ventura started for their respective teams. Ventura stalled a bit putting on a posing routine for the unappreciative crowd. Heenan and Duncum though applauded. Ventura asserted his dominance throwing Brunzell off with seemingly no effort. Ventura hit a most muscular pose.

Brunzell decided to try a different tactic as they locked up again slipping to one side and let Ventura stumble into the corner. Ventura slapped the top turnbuckle in anger. They locked up again and again Brunzell slipped to one side causing Ventura to stumble into the corner. Ventura charged at Brunzell who took him down with an arm drag. A quick tag and Gagne in who worked an arm twist before flipping Ventura over to the mat. Another quick tag brought in Brunzell leaping over the top rope and bringing a boot down on Ventura's massive arm. The High Flyers continued to work over Ventura's arm for a while as Heenan yelled encouragement. Eventually Ventura, thanks to a rake of the eyes was able to regain some control . Ventura backed Gagne to the corner, the ref called for the break. No clean break as Ventura with repeated elbow shots to Gagne's head. Ventura then hit a couple of hard knees to the mid-section. With Gagne doubled up Ventura dragged him over to the corner and tagged in Big, Bad Bobby Duncum. Heenan all smiles now that his men were firmly in control talked strategy with Ventura. Duncum meanwhile nailed Gagne with punches to the ribs. A big bodyslam by Duncum followed up by a series of knees to the ribs. Duncum moved Gagne over to the corner and began choking Gagne. Brunzell went to come in the ring but the ref blocked him out. Meanwhile Ventura and Duncum double teamed Gagne in the corner. Heenan got on the apron and distracted the ref while Ventura and Duncum threw Gagne into the corner with a great deal of force. Duncum got out of the ring and Ventura took over. Ventura tossed Gagne to the ropes, a Bearhug by the Body. Heenan yelled “You got him now ! Squeeze!” Ventura nodded Gagne fought back with some weak shots to the head. Ventura wasn't going to let Gagne get away with that and rammed him back into the corner. A tag to Duncum who started choking Gagne across the top rope. The ref warned Duncum, Ventura took advantage and grabbed Gagne's head draped across the top rope and dropped down off the apron sling shotting Gagne.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/e3a5d493-4947-4abb-9254-1463b30407c0_zpsxyxlusnz.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/e3a5d493-4947-4abb-9254-1463b30407c0_zpsxyxlusnz.png" border="0" alt=" photo e3a5d493-4947-4abb-9254-1463b30407c0_zpsxyxlusnz.png"/></a>

Duncum hit a back-breaker on Gagne, went for a cover and only got 2 as Brunzell jumped in the ring and pulled the big cowboy off. The Brain protested this to no avail. Duncum grabbed Gagne, whipped him to the ropes, Gagne reversed it and hit Duncum with a dropkick. It didn't connect flush but another found it's mark sending Duncum to the the ropes. Gagne crawled over and made the tag to Brunzell who was energized and ready for action. Brunzell caught Duncum off the ropes with a backdrop. Ventura came in and was hit with a patented Brunzell dropkick, another for Duncum.

This allowed Ventura to stomp Jumping Jim on the back of the head. Ventura grabbed Brunzell, Duncum up to the top rope and came off with a double sledge to the exposed ribs of Brunzell. This surely would have been a disqualification had the ref seen it. The ref turned around to see Ventura covering Brunzell and started to make the count, Gagne came in and kicked Ventura in the back breaking the pinfall. Ventura said “Hey, hey ref! Get him out of the ring!”Gagne stood on the apron trying to get Brunzell going, the crowd joining in. Ventura reached for Brunzell who started scrambling away from the 275 pound native of San Diego. Nick Bockwinkel-Champion w/Bobby The Brain Heenan defeated Ray the Crippler Stevens by DQ to retain the title.

No one knows Bockwinkel and Heenan better than Ray The Crippler Stevens For years Stevens and Bockwinkel were a well oiled machine as 3 time AWA World Tag Team champions and later managed by Bobby Heenan. Stevens could match anyone hold for hold but also had a devious quality to him and was not above bending or breaking the rules as needed. If Bockwinkel was the calculating thinking man's wrestler, Stevens was conniving and could be downright vicious. Both masters of the piledriver, Bockwinkel also having the Oriental Sleeper and Figure Four Leglock in his arsenal. Stevens putting more than a few wrestlers on the shelf with his Bombs Away Knee Drop.

All 3 men met in the center of the ring, the ref held the AWA World Title in front of them. Heenan was talking the whole time, Bockwinkel was silent as was Stevens as they stared at each other. The referee handed the belt to the timekeeper. Bockwinkel went to his corner, Heenan kept mouthing off to Stevens hoping to provide some sort of distraction as Bockwinkel tried maneuver himself behind Stevens for a sneak attack. Stevens wasn't fooled and caught Bockwinkel leveling him with a fist. Heenan hastily left the ring. Stevens went to work on Bockwinkel with an arm-drag. Every time Bockwinkel tried to escape, Stevens would either pull Bockwinkel's hair or trunks to keep him under control. Heenan complained but Stevens was just as well versed at hiding the shortcuts he took as anyone. For several minutes Stevens flustered and irritated both Bockwinkel and Heenan by using tactics first that they themselves would of used without a doubt given the chance. The crowd was solidly behind the Crippler and enjoyed seeing Bockwinkel get some of his own medicine. They were on the ropes, Bockwinkel hit a forearm across the chest, whipped Stevens to the opposite side. Bockwinkel looked to be going for a backdrop but Stevens stopped short. Bockwinkel stood up and got a poke in the eyes. The Crippler got the champ in the corner and laid some hard slaps across the chest, a twist of the nose by Stevens followed by a hip toss out of the corner. Bockwinkel reeling, Stevens with a knee drop, Bockwinkel rolls out of the way. Stevens making a rare mistake. Bockwinkel in control now and zeroes in on the knee, draping it across the bottom rope Bockwinkel brings all his weight down across it, again Bockwinkel drops across. Bockwinkel drags Stevens to the middle of the ring, Indian Deathlock by Bockwinkel. Stevens with no where to go and pressure applied to the knee. Heenan yelling from ringside “ I want to hear it snap Nick!” Stevens grabs at Bockwinkel who lets him have it in the jaw. Stevens switching between pain and anger as Bockwinkel mocks Stevens, telling him to take a shot but staying just out of reach. Stevens reaches for the ropes, the ref calls for the break and unwraps their legs. Bockwinkel presses the attack on Stevens, standing on his throat using the ropes for extra leverage.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/32a91eb6-119a-4e54-9f02-18cdffe06817_zpsymu4xfre.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/32a91eb6-119a-4e54-9f02-18cdffe06817_zpsymu4xfre.png" border="0" alt=" photo 32a91eb6-119a-4e54-9f02-18cdffe06817_zpsymu4xfre.png"/></a>

(Bockwinkel being warned)

The ref counts, Bockwinkel backs off but is right back on Stevens this time raking the laces of his boot across Stevens eyes. Bockwinkel with a whip to the ropes, Oriental Sleeper on Stevens, Bockwinkel and Heenan all smiles now as they believe that the match is well in hand. Stevens rears back driving Bockwinkel into the corner. The sleeper broken, Stevens staggers to the middle of the ring, Bockwinkel out of the corner, Stevens with a backdrop on Bockwinkel. Stevens on top of Bockwinkel starts raining down punches on the champ. Stevens picks Bockwinkel up, Atomic Drop gets the Crippler a 2 count. Heenan's expression has changed to one of concern now so much so that Heenan jumps on the apron and argues with the referee about the punching. Stevens comes over grabs Heenan by the collar. Bockwinkel moves in but Stevens knew this was nothing more than a typical Heenan distraction, Stevens after all these years knew what Bockwinkel was going to do, try and sneak up on him while he thought the Crippler was occupied with Heenan. At just the right moment Stevens kicked back and caught Bockwinkel right between the legs. Bockwinkel doubled up and dropped to his knees. Stevens let go of Heenan who dropped down off the apron not realizing what had just happened only to see Stevens grab Bockwinkel, pick him up and hit a Piledriver . Stevens covered the champ, the ref dropped down for the count 1.2. Heenan put Bockwinkel's foot on the bottom rope and made sure the ref knew it was there stopping the pinfall. Stevens pointed at Bockwinkel and then at the top rope. Heenan knew what was coming, Bockwinkel was still down on the mat. The referee warned Stevens what would happen if he came off the top rope. Stevens didn't seem to care as he tossed the ref aside. Stevens went up top, Bobby Heenan pulled Bockwinkel out of the ring. The referee called for the bell, disqualifying Stevens for manhandling an official. The referee handed the AWA title back to Heenan as Stevens stood in the ring just staring holes in both men. The crowd was happy to see Bockwinkel get beat from pillar to post but disappointed that the title was still with the Heenan Family. Stevens got a nice ovation from the fans and that ended another great card at the St.Paul Civic Center.

Light Heavyweight Title Match

Buck Zumhofe-Champion defeated Gentleman Ken Timbs w/Sunset Flip to retain the title.

Dr.D David Schultz/Mr.Saito defeated Brad Rheingans/Steve O. Rheingans had Schultz in a Boston Crab. Saito threatened to come into the ring bringing in Rheingans partner Steve O. While the ref was distracted getting Steve O back out, Saito hit Rheingans with a thrust to the throat. This broke the Boston Crab, Schultz picked Rheingans up for what looked to be a suplex instead bringing him down face first on the mat.Schultz rolled Rheingans over and got the pin.

Sheik Jerry Blackwell w/Sheik Adnan Al-Kassiedefeated Greg Gagne w/Big Splash. Gagne had the Sleeper on Blackwell who flopped on the ropes. The ref tried to get Gagne to release the hold but he refused. The ref went to physically separate Gagne from Blackwell. Sheik Adnan took the opportunity to nail Gagne in the head with the cast on his arm knocking him out.Blackwell recovered to land the splash and get the pin.

6-Man Tag Team Match

Rick Martel,Baron Von Raschke,Wahoo McDaniel defeated the Heenan Family(Jesse Ventura,Bobby Duncum,Blackjack Lanza w/Bobby Heenan). Martel pinned Blackjack Lanza with a Splash from the ring apron after a big boot from Von Raschke.

The Heenan family came out together except for Lanza who seemed to keep a bit of distance between himself and the rest of his cohorts. Ventura,Duncum and Heenan huddled for some last minute pre-match strategy, Lanza just stood on the apron. Ventura and Duncum worked well together, Lanza was odd man out never getting tagged in. After repeated attempts to tag in were ignored Lanza had words with Heenan could be heard telling Lanza to "relax, it's all part of the plan". Finally Heenan motioned for Duncum who had been working over McDaniel to tag in Lanza. Lanza tried to go for a brain buster on Wahoo but was blocked and reversed by McDaniel into a suplex of his own. A tag to Von Raschke and the Clawmaster goose-stepped around the ring.Lanza reached out for a tag but Ventura/Duncum ignored him dropping off the ring apron at Heenan's behest. Lanza was left on his own. Von Raschke whipped him to the ropes, hit a big boot to face. Tagged in Martel who launched himself from the apron over the top rope on to Lanza getting the pin. Heenan,Duncum and Ventura watched from the floor with Ventura laughing a bit. After their hands were raised in victory Martel,McDaniel,Raschke left the ring. Heenan motioned for toward the ring. Ventura went first, followed hestitantly by Duncum. Ventura and Duncum laid the boots to Lanza as Heenan yelled at him "I told you either shape up or ship out" Raschke,McDaniel and Martel rushed back to the ring chasing off the Heenan family. McDaniel checked on Lanza who was suspcious. Von Raschke offered a hand but Lanza walked out of the ring holding the back of his head.

AWA World Title Match

(The Proud Champion Moments Before Heading to the Ring)

Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby The Brain Heenan-Champion defeated Hulk Hogan yet again to retain the AWA World Title. After defeating 19 other men in a battle royal last month at the Showboat Sports Pavilion to secure this match against Bockwinkel, Hogan was on the verge of fulfilling what many have seen as his destiny to at last finally be AWA World Champion. Even Heenan's incessant interference was of no consequence for most of the match. But Bockwinkel was not world champion for nothing, he was not going to go quietly into the sunset. He pulled out of trick, every technique every thing that he could think of from the last 30 some odd years of his career. Bockwinkel locked in a figure four leglock that Hogan reversed and powered out of. Not one but two piledrivers in a row only got a generous 2 count. Bockwinkel locked in the Oriental Sleeper. Hogan went down as far as one knee but every time Bockwinkel had some advantage the crowd 5000+ would come alive and make the Showboat shake with their noise. Hogan broke the sleeper, tossed Bockwinkel from pillar to post. A delayed vertical suplex, an elbow to the top of the head of Bockwinkel, a big boot that sent Bockwinkel over the top rope to the floor.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/781c8cde-0ce9-42f6-8ea4-c2c37f063a41_zpsjd2bzecl.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/781c8cde-0ce9-42f6-8ea4-c2c37f063a41_zpsjd2bzecl.png" border="0" alt=" photo 781c8cde-0ce9-42f6-8ea4-c2c37f063a41_zpsjd2bzecl.png"/></a>

Heenan claimed it was intentional, the crowd having seen this before believed Hogan would be dq'd. But referee Marty Miller declared Bockwinkel's own momentum carried him over the top and the match would continue. Hogan went to the floor and cracked Heenan's and Bockwinkel's heads together. Bockwinkel slowly rolled back in the ring. Hogan followed but was stopped by Heenan holding on to his legs. Hogan was having none of this tonight. He grabbed Heenan and threatened him with a punch, the ref warned Hogan of a dq if he touched Heenan. Hogan pushed him to the floor. Hogan got back in. Bockwinkel stomped away. Hogan seemed impervious to the assault, got to his feet and let loose a series of hay-makers. Bockwinkel wobbled, swung wildly missing by a mile. Hogan measured him for one more big punch out of right field. Bockwinkel fell backwards to the mat. Hogan and the crowd knew this was it. Hogan came off the ropes, a big leg drop. Hogan covered and almost got a 3 count but Heenan put Bockwinkel's leg over the bottom rope. Hogan for sure thought he had won but was informed otherwise. The crowd chanted "WEASEL" Heenan yelled for them to "SHUT UP!". Heenan covered his ears, he didn't hear the 300 pound Hogan over the deafening crowd. Heenan turned to stand face to face with Hogan. Heenan scrambled to get away right into the ring. Hogan gave chase. Heenan stumbled to the mat.At Hogan's mercy Heenan was done for, or was he? Bockwinkel with a dropkick to the back of Hogan gave Heenan just enough time to escape any retribution. Bockwinkel went on the attack again, raking Hogan's head against the top rope. Bockwinkel again with the Oriental Sleeper. Hogan drove Bockwinkel back to the corner breaking the hold.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/4e79a08c-7cae-48dd-a384-bf37c909164f_zps6o7cmrqe.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/4e79a08c-7cae-48dd-a384-bf37c909164f_zps6o7cmrqe.png" border="0" alt=" photo 4e79a08c-7cae-48dd-a384-bf37c909164f_zps6o7cmrqe.png"/></a>

Both men exhausted dropped to the mat Heenan did his best to encourage Bockwinkel but the crowd at the Showboat was better. Hogan got to his feet and seemed to be re-energized. Grabbing Bockwinkel, Hogan hoisted him up for a bodyslam, Heenan jumped on the apron. Hogan dumped Bockwinkel and grabbed the Brain, the referee warned Hogan yet again but this time Hogan let Heenan have it sending him sprawling to the floor. While referee Marty Miller checked on Heenan Bockwinkel went into his tights and pulled out what appeared to be brass knuckles, Hogan turned and Bockwinkel struck, Hogan blocked the shot from Bockwinkel and nailed Bockwinkel with another big right. Bockwinkel went to the mat, Hogan picked up the brass knux and with the crowds approval nailed Bockwinkel with his own weapon. Hogan quickly tucked the knux in his trunks as the ref returned to the match to see Hogan come off the ropes with a leg drop and cover Bockwinkel for the pin. The Showboat exploded as the dream was finally realized. Referee Marty Miller presented the AWA World Title to Hulk Hogan. Bobby Heenan showing why he is called the Brain told the ref to check Hogan's trunks. The ref demanded to check Hogan and found the brass knuckles. Immediately the title was taken from Hogan and returned to Bockwinkel as Hulk Hogan was disqualified. The crowd was not happy to say the least, but Hogan was livid. He grabbed the referee and tossed him from the ring, grabbed Heenan and threw him into the corner and then sent Bockwinkel into the corner as well.Hogan charged and hit the corner full force with a clothesline to Bockwinkel that Heenan felt as well. Both men dropped to the mat. Hogan grabbed the title and held it up before finally throwing it down at Bockwinkel in disgust. Heenan grabbed the title and rolled from the ring along with Bockwinkel who could barely stand. Heenan helped the still World Champion limp back to the dressing room. Hogan obviously disappointed but appreciative of the crowd posed in the ring.

We start off in Dallas Texas with World Class Championship Wrestling from the World Famous Sportatorium. Your announcer is Bill Mercer, ring announcer/interviewer Marc Lowrance.

World Class Television Champion Alberto Madril faced off against challenger, the popular Iceman King Parsons. Madril has held the title since Christmas Star Wars 1982 at Reunion Arena where he defeated “Wild” Bill Irwin to capture the title. King Parsons since coming to Dallas has worked his way up the ladder and become quite popular with the World Class fans.

Madril as champion had time on his side since bouts for the television title only have a 15 minute limit. Madril stalled as much as possible in the opening minutes from stretching to claiming Parson's body was too slick to get a hold of. The match itself went on normally enough but something lit a fire under Parsons, whether it was the constant pulling of the tights by Madril or something else but when Madril tossed Parsons to the floor that was it. Parsons dragged Madril to the floor, bounced the champ's head off the apron, and bodyslammed him on the bare floor. As referee Rick Hazard counted, Parsons rolled in the ring to beat the count. Iceman King Parsons defeated Alberto Madril by count-out so the title didn't change hands.

Post-Match: Madril held his back claiming some sort of injury. He was helped to the back by Hazard but not before making sure to claim his title.

(Video Interview with Gentleman Chris Adams)

Bill Mercer talked to Chris Adams at his home in Downtown Dallas, Adams who sat in a darkened room with the curtains drawn and wore dark sunglasses was asked about the Green Mist attack by the Great Kabuki.

Adams said it took me by surprise and was like no pain I had ever felt..

Mercer also informed Adams that the Great Kabuki had been suspended from World Class for 60 days for the attack. Adams said the last thing he wants is Kabuki suspended but he understands the position World Class officials were in. His eyes will take time to heal but he will never forget what Kabuki did to him. Adams added that "I've only recently come to Dallas and World Class and was really beginning to make my mark in professional wrestling and Kabuki tried to take that away."

Adams added that he wanted to thank all the fans for their get well cards and support and “I will return to the Sportatorium sooner rather than later, that I promise."

Marc Lowarance did the introductions announcing Gino Hernandez from the affluent Highland Park section of Dallas.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/91f71d39-6312-4e10-8ce1-414e9f6db272_zpsfxy9i7vd.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/91f71d39-6312-4e10-8ce1-414e9f6db272_zpsfxy9i7vd.png" border="0" alt=" photo 91f71d39-6312-4e10-8ce1-414e9f6db272_zpsfxy9i7vd.png"/></a>

(Handsome Half-Breed Gino Hernandez)

Gorgeous Gino Hernandez defeated Skip Young w/Reverse Elbow Drop

Hernandez seemed more interested in yelling and bad mouthing the crowd than actually wrestling as he continually turned his back to have words with the fans. Skip Young was not above using Hernandez inattention to get the advantage grabbing Hernandez by the hair and ramming him into the turnbuckle. Young used his speed and agility well against Hernandez, seeming to be all over the ring at once. A jumping headbutt got a 2 on Gorgeous Gino. A missed missile drop kick by Young gave Hernandez an opening and Gino went to work with a side breaker, a standing elbow drop. A whip to the ropes, Hernanedez bent down, Young over with a sunset flip, Hernandez didn't go down instead nailing Young with a right to the head. Gino shook his hand after the punch indicating it hurt a little. Young popped up, Gino threw some more punches that Young avoided, a dropkick sent Gino to the corner. A little shocked Hernandez offered a handshake to Young who grabbed Hernandez and whipped him to the opposite corner. Young went for a backdrop of his own but Hernandez stopped and dropped an elbow on the back of the neck stunning Young, a swinging neckbreaker by Hernandez who then climbed to the 2nd rope and, falling backward with a Reverse Elbow Drop. This got the pitfall for the Gino.

Gino Hernandez

Bill Mercer here I am, the Gorgeous One, the Handsome Half-Breed. The greatest wrestler the sport has ever known. But you know what's missing Bill? The only thing that could make this face and body even more irresistible and that is some gold around this waist. I don't care who I have to go through, the Von Erichs, Adams, even the Freebirds. What the Handsome Half-Breed wants the Handsome Half-Breed gets and I want the Texas Heavyweight title.

Puerto Rican star Carlos Colon made his Sportatorium debut defeating the Magic Dragon w/Figure Four Leglock

After the match Bill Mercer talked to Colon about being in Dallas and World Class.

Carlos Colon

I'm very happy to be here in Dallas. To be around all these great wrestlers like the Freebirds and the Von Erichs.

Bill Mercer

You've had some great battles over your career but none as great as the Madman from the Sudan Abdullah the Butcher.

Carlos Colon

Much blood has been spilled between myself and the Butcher over the years. Some of the greatest battles in Puerto Rico have been me and Abdullah.

Bill Mercer

The Von Erichs have journeyed to Puerto Rico as well.

Carlos Colon

The Von Erichs are fine boys, very good wrestlers. They've been to my island home a few different times. I thought I would come to their home for a change.

(Colon and Mercer chuckle a little)

Bill Mercer

Thank you Carlos and I'm sure we look forward to seeing more of you in the days and weeks to come.

Carlos Colon

Thank you Bill and thank you Dallas.

Bill Mercer

Up next Kevin Von Erich defends the Texas Heavyweight title against Fabulous Freebird Buddy Roberts.

Texas Heavyweight Title Match

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/e9902c46-9a92-49c5-9f8e-d1814ce20435_zpscqzitabt.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/e9902c46-9a92-49c5-9f8e-d1814ce20435_zpscqzitabt.png" border="0" alt=" photo e9902c46-9a92-49c5-9f8e-d1814ce20435_zpscqzitabt.png"/></a>

Fabulous Freebird Buddy Roberts defeated Kevin Von Erich to become the new Texas Heavyweight Champion thanks to help from fellow Freebird and Americas Champion Terry Bam Bam Gordy. Von Erich had everything well in control and in no danger of losing his coveted Texas Heavyweight title until Terry Gordy made his way to ringside.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/a6f9d723-2543-4a1e-b4d1-94ccb1a6e982_zpsybly6vst.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/a6f9d723-2543-4a1e-b4d1-94ccb1a6e982_zpsybly6vst.png" border="0" alt=" photo a6f9d723-2543-4a1e-b4d1-94ccb1a6e982_zpsybly6vst.png"/></a>

This was enough of a distraction for Roberts to get in some shots on the Golden Warrior. Roberts got cocky about how much of an advantage he had over Von Erich. Von Erich came back with a dropkick sending Roberts to the corner. A monkey flip out by Von Erich had Roberts reeling. Von Erich hit some knees in the corner, a snap-mare and a jumping knee drop sent Roberts rolling around the mat in pain.Von Erich went to the top rope and waited for Roberts. Gordy jumped on the apron drawing the attention of the referee and Von Erich. Trying to keep the two of them apart was no easy feat for Bronco Lubich. Gordy eventually gave in and dropped down off the apron. Roberts tried a wild swing at Von Erich who ducked, pushed Roberts into the ropes and came up with a rollup. Roberts kicked out at 2 sending Von Erich straight to the ropes. Bam Bam nailed Von Erich with the Americas title in the head, Roberts grabbed Von Erich and rolled him up using the tights and Brono Lubich counted 3. Buddy Roberts became the new Texas Heavyweight Champion

Post-Match:While Gordy and Roberts celebrated Buddy's victory, Von Erich got his bearings, realized he had been hoodwinked and flew across the ring attacking both Freebirds. But Gordy/Roberts easily got the advantage. Roberts let Kevin have it in the back of the head with his new Texas title stunning Von Erich. Roberts motioned up,Gordy shook his head in agreement. Roberts went to the 2nd rope, Gordy picked Von Erich up. The Freebirds were looking for a Spike piledriver. Running out from the back came David Von Erich who threw fist after fist at the Freebirds. Gordy bailed out of the ring but Roberts wasn't that lucky getting caught in David's Iron Claw. Roberts was finally pulled free by Gordy. David checked on Kevin who was no worse for wear.

Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling Charlotte Coliseum

Wrestling Review(March 1983)

Arena Report

Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling From Charlotte Coliseum, Charlotte, N.C.

Dick Slater defeated the Assassin by DQ

A fight from the start, heavy with punches and kicks, eye pokes and gouges.

It eventually went to the floor and then back in the ring. The Assassin hit Slater with the time keeper's bell causing the DQ.To add insult to injury the Assassin came off the ropes with a big splash. The Assassin was preparing for another splash when ½ of the Minnesota Wrecking Crew Gene Anderson came out and nailed the masked man in the mid-section, a flurry of fists sent the Assassin rolling out of the ring and to the locker room. Anderson checked on Slater who was getting up under his own power but was in obvious

pain from the assault.

Mid-Atlantic Championship Title Match

Dory Funk Jr.-Champion defeated Mike Rotundo to retain the title w/Forearm Uppercut off the ropes

A classic match up as Rotundo tried to regain the Mid-Atlantic title. Rotundo came close on a few occasions to recapturing the title but the wily veteran Funk eventually came out on top nailing Rotundo with a forearm uppercut.

Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant defeated Rick Harris* w/Elbow Smash/Elbow Drop combo

*Rick Harris substituted for Bob Orton Jr.

Jack/Jerry Brisco defeated Rick Steamboat/Jay Youngblood. All four men met in the center of the ring and shook hands. Steamboat/Youngblood started off quick using their speed early on. Eventually things slowed down and the Briscos took advantage working over Steamboat's leg. Steamboat had taken the brunt of the Brisco offense finally managing to scramble way from Jack and tagging in Youngblood who hit a series of dropkicks on the Briscos. A tomahawk chop for Jerry and then one for Jack had the brothers down. Youngblood tagged Steamboat back in who went to the top rope and came off with a crossbody block onto Jack who rolled through into a pinning combination using the tights. The ref counted 2 but Youngblood broke up the pinfall. Jerry came up from behind and tossed Jay to the floor. Steamboat dorpkicked Jerry from behind sending him to the floor. Jack grabbed Steamboat from behind, a belly to back suplex into a pin. Steamboat/Brisco's shoulders were both down on the mat. The ref dropped down to count 1..2. They both rolled their shoulders up just before the ref hit 3.

The bell rang both Steamboat and Brisco thought they got the win the ref came over and raised Jack Brisco's arm. Steamboat was confused and talked to the referee motioning that he got his shoulder up before the 3 count. The referee motioning that he only saw Jack's shoulder come up off the mat and that the Brisco brothers were the winners.

Post Match: Jack and Jerry celebrated their victory. Jerry grabbed the house mic and proclaimed “The Briscos are the best!”. Steamboat and Youngblood were visibly disappointed.

The Great Kabuki w/ Gary Hart defeated the American Dream Dusty Rhodes.

Kabuki gave a nunchuk demonstration pre-match. Dusty Rhodes made his entrance to the ring.

Before the match Rhodes and Hart were talking back and forth. Kabuki apparently grew weary of this and nailed Rhodes in the side of the head with the nunchuks. Rhodes dropped like a sack of potatoes. Gary Hart told the ref to ring the bell and start the match. The bell rang, Kabuki covered the American Dream and got the 3 count. Kabuki again displayed his nunchuk skills, blew green mist in the air and he and Gary Hart left the ring as Rhodes was being checked on.

NWA World Title Match

Ric Flair-World Champion defeated Roddy Piper to retain the title. The referee called the match when it became obvious that Piper could no longer defend himself.

Piper showed that he could keep up with Flair in the ring, even pulling out a few tricks of his own to frustrate the Nature Boy. But Flair showed why he is possibly the greatest wrestler in the sport today as he found his spot and methodically went to work on Piper's left knee. Things went from bad to worse when Flair flung Piper's leg around the ring post repeatedly. Piper scooted back to a corner and pulled himself up. Flair went in to inflict more damage. Piper wasn't about to let a little pain in the knee stop him. Showing that amateur boxing background. Piper caught Flair with jabs that stunned the champ.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/baa95c4b-18a8-4fe2-b52a-56a8fb3daf30_zpsin08v72k.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/baa95c4b-18a8-4fe2-b52a-56a8fb3daf30_zpsin08v72k.png" border="0" alt=" photo baa95c4b-18a8-4fe2-b52a-56a8fb3daf30_zpsin08v72k.png"/></a>

(Piper showing off his boxing skills)

Piper went for a bodyslam but the knee gave out and he fell to the mat with Flair on top getting a 2 ½ count before Roddy managed to kick out. Flair grabbed the left leg and drove the Piper's knee into the mat. Piper managed to get to his feet, hindered by the damage to the knee, Roddy hopped around the ring trying to keep any weight off of the leg. Flair continued to stalk Piper trapping him in corner.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/a494a0a7-22a0-4236-b0b4-b82cd361ab5e_zps3rd4r3fu.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/a494a0a7-22a0-4236-b0b4-b82cd361ab5e_zps3rd4r3fu.png" border="0" alt=" photo a494a0a7-22a0-4236-b0b4-b82cd361ab5e_zps3rd4r3fu.png"/></a>

Flair kicked at Piper's knee. Flair then hit a series of chops to Piper's chest just to add insult to injury. This infuriated the Rowdy Scot who grabbed Flair and pushed him into the corner now. Piper with slaps to Flair's chest and an eye poke for good measure.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/0bf7af54-b8a7-42f0-89c1-684b797211b3_zpsoazwq7w3.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/0bf7af54-b8a7-42f0-89c1-684b797211b3_zpsoazwq7w3.png" border="0" alt=" photo 0bf7af54-b8a7-42f0-89c1-684b797211b3_zpsoazwq7w3.png"/></a>

(When in doubt go to the eyes)

Piper went for a suplex but his knee was just in too bad a shape to get Flair up. Flair reversed it and hit a suplex of his own. Flair proceeded to stomp away at the knee. Piper tried to get away but Flair was relentless now, draping Piper's leg across the bottom rope and bringing all his weight down on the knee over and over again. The referee backed Flair and checked on Piper. Flair moved in again, dragged Piper to the middle of the ring. A pair of kicks to the hamstring and Flair yelled “Now we go to school!”Flair locked in the Figure Four. There was nowhere for Piper to go but he still fought the pain, the ref kept asking if Piper gives up. Piper yelled “Never!” Flair had the Figure Four locked in for had to be 5 minutes every so often ratcheting up the pressure. Piper wouldn’t submit. Piper struggled and crawled, fought with everything he had to get to the ropes. Finally Piper got a hand on the bottom rope. The ref called for the break. After untangling their legs, the ref asked Piper if he could still go. Piper shook his head yes and pulled himself up again before collapsing back to the mat. It was obvious Piper couldn't stand on his own. Piper tried again this time using the ropes for balance. Flair moved in and caught Piper with a kick to the knee, Piper collapsed to the mat.

The referee had seen enough and called for the bell stopping the match. Flair was handed the NWA World title, his hand raised.

Post Match:The ref tried to check on Piper who pushed him away. Piper fought to his feet again holding on to the ropes with both hands to steady himself Piper grabbed the house mic “Flair! You may have won tonight but this ain't over! “

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Bill Mercer</span></strong></p><p>

Brian Adias a longtime family friend of the Von Erichs and classmate of the Modern Day Warrior Kerry Von Erich chalks up an impressive victory. Coming up in our main event Fabulous Freebirds Terry Bam Bam Gordy the Americas Heavyweight Champion and Buddy Roberts the newly crowned Texas Heavyweight champion which he won from Kevin Von Erich one week ago take on Kevin and David in tag team action. But up next the Iceman King Parsons takes on the Hustler Rip Rogers.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Iceman King Parsons</strong> defeated Rip Rogers w/Butt-Butt</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Bill Mercer</span></strong></p><p>

The Iceman with another win.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Iceman King Parsons</span></strong></p><p>

Buddy Roberts don't think I've forgotten what you said. No one talks to me that way. That slap across the cheek I gave you was just a little taste of what's coming. And now that you got the Texas title I'm more than ready to get you back in the ring to teach you some manners and take that title off you.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Michael Hayes</span></strong></p><p>

Look at all this gold the Fabulous Freebirds got. Along with the World Six-Man title, we got the tag team titles, beat the Von Erichs for that. The big man Bam Bam has got the Americas title, beat a Von Erich for that and then the cherry on top BuddyJack is the new Texas heavyweight champion, beat a Von Erich for that. Seems like we just showed all you people what we've been saying for months the Von Erichs might be good but the Freebirds are just that much better. We're better looking, better fighters, better wrestlers and all these titles prove it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Buddy Roberts (shining up the Texas title)</span></strong></p><p>

Hey Von Erichs! This one really had to hurt losing didn't it. The Von Erichs, the big heroes of Texas can't even keep ahold of the Texas title. The boys from Atlanta got all the titles and we plan on keep them for a good long time.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Terry Gordy</span></strong></p><p>

All you people better listen up, the Freebirds not the Von Erichs rule World Class and you better get used to it because we ain't going nowhere and we ain't losing any of these either!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Buddy Roberts</span></strong></p><p>

And King Parsons, I ain't forgot about you either. I've beat you silly so many times son! And I'll do it again and again, until it sinks into that thick head of yours that you don't want anything to do with Buddy Roberts.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Michael Hayes</span></strong></p><p>

We told all you people one simple thing when we came to Dallas. You walk down Badstreet with the Freebirds and you're going to come out on the losing end.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Gorgeous Gino Hernandez</strong> defeated Mike Bond w/Knee Drop</p><p>

Hernandez had little trouble with Bond who put up next to no fight. Hernandez ending the match</p><p>

fairly quickly with a standing knee drop to the head.</p><p>

<strong>Post Match</strong>-Hernandez kicked Bond repeatedly, finally pushing him out under the bottom rope all</p><p>

while yelling “You don't deserve to be in the ring with me!”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sweet Brown Sugar</strong> defeated the Magic Dragon w/Jumping Headbutt</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Bill Mercer</span></strong></p><p>

I'm joined by the television champion Alberto Madril who seemed to have suffered some sort of back injury last week.</p><p>

Alberto Madril walks out to ring side slowly and a little hunched over</p><p>

Mr. Mercer that's right I injured my back last week. My doctors at the Dallas Medical Center have said I have 2 herniated discs in my back.</p><p>

<a href="<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/05630677-d92e-4592-b82b-79e545b45b86_zpskoslnmwu.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow">http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/05630677-d92e-4592-b82b-79e545b45b86_zpskoslnmwu.jpg.html"</a> target="_blank"><img src="<a href="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/05630677-d92e-4592-b82b-79e545b45b86_zpskoslnmwu.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/05630677-d92e-4592-b82b-79e545b45b86_zpskoslnmwu.jpg"</a> border="0" alt=" photo 05630677-d92e-4592-b82b-79e545b45b86_zpskoslnmwu.jpg"/></a></p><p>

<strong>Bill Mercer</strong></p><p>

Do they have any idea how or when this happened?</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Al Madril</span></strong></p><p>

They believe it's when King Parsons slammed me on the concrete floor of the Sportatorium during our title match(Madril winces in pain and grabs at his back)</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Bill Mercer</span></strong></p><p>

Do they have any idea when you will be able to wrestle again?</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Al Madril</span></strong><strong> </strong></p><p>

They don't know when or if I will ever get back in the ring. </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Bill Mercer</span></strong></p><p>

If you can't wrestle then you will have to forfeit the television title.</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Al Madril</span></strong></p><p>

I take great pride in being the television champion, the people may not like the way I've done things but I've always defended this title against anyone. Last Christmas was the best day for me because it's when I won this title and to possible have to give it up now. I just don't know.”</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Bill Mercer</span></strong></p><p>

Do yo blame the Iceman or have any ill will toward him?</p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Al Madril</span></strong></p><p>

I don't blame Parsons for anything, this is a rough sport and things happen. But what I would like is for him to come down and face me like a man and say he's sorry that's all.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Main Event- The Von Erichs(Kevin/David) vs The Fabulous Freebirds(Terry Gordy/Buddy Roberts)/w Michael Hayes.</strong></p><p>

Opening guitars of Lynard Skynard's Freebird begins playing heralding the arrival of the Fabulous Freebirds Buddy Roberts, Terry Gordy accompanied by Michael Hayes. Hayes strutted around the ring holding all the title belts, mockingly he collapsed under all the weight of the belts. </p><p>

<a href="<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/973665d8-846b-457a-b1d8-3c1bbf83a2fa_zpsnqquwd2x.png.html" rel="external nofollow">http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/973665d8-846b-457a-b1d8-3c1bbf83a2fa_zpsnqquwd2x.png.html"</a> target="_blank"><img src="<a href="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/973665d8-846b-457a-b1d8-3c1bbf83a2fa_zpsnqquwd2x.png" rel="external nofollow">http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/973665d8-846b-457a-b1d8-3c1bbf83a2fa_zpsnqquwd2x.png"</a> border="0" alt=" photo 973665d8-846b-457a-b1d8-3c1bbf83a2fa_zpsnqquwd2x.png"/></a></p><p>

<strong>(The Freebirds ready for battle)</strong></p><p>

The fans got very loud as Ted Nugent's Stranglehold began to play bringing out Kevin and David Von Erich. Yellow roses were handed to David by women in the crowd. David/Kevin entered the ring to a huge ovation. The Von Erichs immediately didn't like the 3 on 2 situation with Hayes at ringside. David and Kevin had a conference and sent one of the ringside attendants to the back. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Bill Mercer</span></strong></p><p>

I don't know what David and Kevin are doing, Oh I see now, they are evening the odds, here comes their younger brother Mike who has been training to be a wrestler and join his brothers in the ring and carry on the great Von Erich tradition. The Freebirds are not happy about this at all.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Marc Lowarance makes the ring announcements.</strong></p><p>

This is a tag team match. First holding all the belts at ringside Fabulous Freebird Michael Hayes. And in the ring from Atlanta Georgia Freebird and Texas Heavyweight champion Buddy Roberts. And his partner and American Heavyweight champion also from Atlanta Freebird Terry Bam Bam Gordy. And now from Denton County Texas accompanied by their brother Mike Von Erich, David and Kevin Von Erich. Referee is David Manning.</p><p> </p><p>

David gives Mike some instructions “you watch that preening peacock out there, we'll take care of Gordy and Roberts. You understand?” Mike nods, steps out of the ring and to the floor. Each team decides who is going to start. It's going to be Kevin vs Bam Bam to begin.</p><p> </p><p>

Gordy/Von Erich immediately start swinging away at each other. Bam Bam got the better of Kevin momentarily pushing him back to the Freebirds corner, tag to Roberts, Kevin slipped away and caught Roberts with an arm drag. Hayes on the outside yelled at referee Rick Hazard that “Von Erich pulled Buddy's hair.”David tagged in and continued working over Buddy's arm. Hayes having trouble keeping a hold of all the titles the Freebirds have yelled encouragement to Roberts. A rake of the eyes got Roberts free and a tag to Bam Bam. The big men of their respective teams squared off exchanging fists in the center of the ring. David whipped Gordy to the ropes, Von Erich missed a dropkick. Gordy picked Von Erich up in a one armed bodyslam. Hayes yelled”that's it Bam Bam get him!” Gordy came off the ropes with an elbow drop. Gordy drags David over to the Freebird corner, Von Erich fights back, a fist to Gordy, one for Roberts, Von Erich grabs both Freebirds and a “meeting of the minds” as David smashes their heads together. Von Erich drags Buddy into the ring, kicks to the head, Roberts with a headbutt to the mid section of Von Erich doubles him up. A swinging neckbreaker by Roberts gets a 2 count. A rear chinlock by Roberts. Kevin pacing back and forth wanting to get in the ring, young Mike slaps the apron trying to get his older brother motivated. David works to his feet, elbows to Roberts mid-section. Von Erich off the ropes, leap frog by Von Erich over Roberts. Roberts turns around dropkick by Von Erich sends Roberts down. A tag to Kevin, Roberts scrambles to his corner tags in Bam Bam. Kevin charges with knees to Gordy, a snap mare by Kevin. Standing knee drop by Von Erich. Kevin raises his hand for the crowd signaling the Iron Claw and brings it down on Gordy's forehead. </p><p>

<a href="<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/gordykevin_zps4t1wtqxt.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow">http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/gordykevin_zps4t1wtqxt.jpg.html"</a> target="_blank"><img src="<a href="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/gordykevin_zps4t1wtqxt.jpg" rel="external nofollow">http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/gordykevin_zps4t1wtqxt.jpg"</a> border="0" alt=" photo gordykevin_zps4t1wtqxt.jpg"/></a></p><p> </p><p>

Michael Hayes jumps on the apron, Mike Von Erich comes around and pulls Hayes down dropping him</p><p>

to the floor with a right. Roberts comes in and tries to break up the Claw but Kevin locks the Iron Claw on Roberts. Mike fighting with Hayes on the outside gets his head bounced off the ring apron. David comes over to help his little brother, Gordy levels Kevin breaking the Claw. Referee Rick Hazard trying to restore order tells David to get back to his corner. Von Erich argues with the ref. Hayes slides one of the many titles to Gordy who levels Kevin with it and puts Buddy on top. Referee Rick Hazard turns around and sees Roberts covering Kevin and couts the 3. Hayes and Gordy hop in the ring and hold a dazed BuddyJack up. David and Mike check on Kevin who tells them what happened. David begins arguing with the ref who says he didn't see it happen and can't call it.</p><p>

<strong>Post-Match</strong></p><p>

The Freebirds relishing their victory gather up all the titles. The Von Erichs figuring they've already lost the match have nothing to lose and attack the Freebirds. Belts go flying. David tosses Hayes through the ropes to the floor. Kevin whips Gordy towards Mike who backdrops Bam Bam over the ropes and to the floor leaving only Buddy Roberts in the ring with the 3 Von Erichs. David grabs Buddy who is begging for mercy, whips him to the ropes and a triple Von Erich dropkick from the 3 brothers sends Roberts back through the ropes and to the floor. The crowd cheers, the Freebirds are angry and the Von Erichs stand tall in the ring.</p>

Tornado Tag Team Match

All Four Men In the Ring At Once

Kevin/Kerry Von Erich defeated Fabulous Freebirds Michael Hayes/Buddy Roberts in a Texas Tornado Tag Team Match. All four men in the ring battled it out in another chapter of the Von Erich/Freebird war.The Von Erichs finally got a much needed win when Kerry caught Michael Hayes with a Discus Punch after Hayes had tossed Kevin over the top rope to the floor.

American Heavyweight Title Match

Terry Bam Bam Gordy-Champion defeated David Von Erich by DQ.

Gordy and Von Erich beat each other from pillar to post. Von Erich caught Gordy with the Iron Claw, Gordy attempted to leave the ring by climbing over the top rope. The referee warned Von Erich to break the Claw but he refused. After trying to physically break the hold referee David Manning had no choice but to call for the disqualification. Gordy's Freebird buddies Hayes and Roberts came to ringside as did Kevin and Kerry Von Erich to help separate the 2 big men. Kerry and Kevin were finally able to pull David off Gordy who by now was bloodied from the pressure of the Claw.

Post-Match:Words were exchanged with Hayes accusing the Von Erichs of being “psychopaths” and “off their rocker” and the Von Erichs accusing the Freebirds of being nothing but “lying, despicable filth”

(World Class returns to the Will Rogers Coliseum in 2 weeks)

World Class Championship Wrestling(Week 3)

Dallas Tx.-Sportatorium

Announcers-Bill Mercer, Marc Lowarance

Bill Mercer gave a run down of the program including an interview with the Von Erichs and the continuing battle with the Freebirds, as well as how Mike Von Erich's training is coming and when he could possibly make his official debut. Johnny Rodz is in action, Gorgeous Gino Hernandez taking on Brian Adias, and in the main event for the American Tag team titles, the champions Terry Gordy and Michael Hayes w/Buddy Roberts defend against the Modern Day Warrior Kerry Von Erich and Iceman King Parsons

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/johnnymantell_zpsj8ohxh9u.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/johnnymantell_zpsj8ohxh9u.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo johnnymantell_zpsj8ohxh9u.jpg"/></a>

Popular Johnny Mantell pulled off a bit of an upset on newcomer Unpredictable Johnny Rodz.

Rodz could only blame himself for the loss as he seemed more intent on trying to get some approval from the fans after every move than actually trying to pin Mantell. This came back to haunt Rodz when

he bodyslammed Mantell, turned to the crowd telling them “that's how you do a bodyslam” turned back to Mantell, went to lift him again and got caught with an inside cradle by Mantell and the 3 count.

Post-match: Rodz argued with referee David Manning, Marc Lowarance and anybody else who was within earshot claiming Mantell cheated.

Brian Adias defeated Gorgeous Gino Hernandez by Count-Out

Standing in the middle of the ring facing off the arrogant Hernandez mocked Adias's relationship with the Von Erichs. For this Adias hauled off and slapped the taste from Hernandez's mouth. An angry Adias beat the Handsome Half-Breed all over the ring. Hernandez back-pedaled to the corner drawing Adias in. A kick by Hernandez was caught by Aidas who spun the Gorgeous one around, a big uppercut to the jaw sent Hernandez backwards through the ropes to the floor. Hernandez got up waved Adias off saying “I don't have to put up with this!” and walked off to the back.

I had the chance to visit this past week with Kerry, Kevin and David at the Von Erich home north of Dallas where we discussed the Fabulous Freebirds, Mike's training and what the brothers have planned to the future. So let's go to the video right now.

(Bill Mercer stands in a grassy field, the Von Erich home in the background. The camera pans to see the Von Erich boys riding up stopping a few feet away. They dismount and greet Bill)

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/davidvonerich_zpsjjxdqewf.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/davidvonerich_zpsjjxdqewf.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo davidvonerich_zpsjjxdqewf.jpg"/></a>

Bill Mercer

Getting in a little horseback riding I see.

David Von Erich

Gotta take a break from wrestling every now and then Bill.

Kevin Von Erich

Come on Bill let's go have a seat up by the house

(Video cuts to all four sitting around a patio table drinking iced tea.)

Bill Mercer

Things haven't been going so well for the Von Erichs when it comes to the Fabulous Freebirds.

David Von Erich

Well Bill, that's true. They've got almost every title in World Class and seem to have beaten us at every turn. But Bill you've known us for a long time and when the going gets tough the Von Erichs don't quit.

Kerry Von Erich

Like David said we don't give up. We'll get things turned back around soon enough.

Kevin Von Erich

Gordy, Hayes and Roberts think it's just Von Erich vs Freebird but what it really is about is right and wrong, trash and filth against honor and integrity. And when you're fighting for the right things eventually you come out on top.

David Von Erich

The fans know where the Von Erich family stands, that we will fight til we've got nothing left to give. The Freebirds may have won a few battles but this war ain't close to being over just yet.

Bill Mercer

A few weeks ago we saw you bring out your young brother Mike. Myself and I'm sure all the fans want to know how is Mike's training coming along and when will we see him in the ring with his brothers?

Kerry Von Erich

You know Mike is training 5-6 hours a day in the ring with at least one of us as well as our dad. He's hitting the weights every other day for about an hour and half.

Kevin Von Erich

Mike is working his butt off but we all want to make sure we don't push him too far, too fast. We want to make sure he's properly trained and as ready as much as possible.

David Von Erich

We've had some friends of ours come out at work with as well to get some experience with different styles. Brian and King Parsons have been out here to help too. So when he thinks he's ready and we think he's ready then will get him in the ring and see what he can do.

Kevin Von Erich

I will say this about Mike, he's made some great progress over this last year and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get in the ring before the end of the year.

Bill Mercer

Well I want to thank you boys for taking the time to talk to me and I know I speak for the fans when I say I wish you and your family the best.

David Von Erich

Thanks Bill and thanks to all the great fans of World Class for all their support for us.

(The Von Erichs get back on their horses and ride off)

Carlos Colon defeated Cowboy Tony Falk w/Figure Four Leglock. Falk was aggressive against Colon and it helped him early in the match but Colon only let this go on for a short time before taking over. A pair of dropkicks and a lariat softened up Falk. Colon hit a headbutt that dazed Falk then Colon picked him up and hit a modified powerslam. Colon wrapped the legs up in a Figure Four and it was quickly over.

American Tag Team Title Match

The Fabulous Freebirds(Terry Gordy/Michael Hayes)w/Buddy Roberts defeated Kerry Von Erich/Iceman King Parsons. Kerry fought with Gordy on the outside of the ring distracting referee Bronco Lubich. Iceman caught Hayes off the ropes with a Butt-Butt and went for the pinfall. Buddy Roberts jumped in, dropped an elbow on the back of Parsons head breaking up the pinfall. Roberts and Hayes proceeded to double team King Parsons with a suplex. Roberts got out of the ring and stood at ringside as if nothing had happened. Referee Lubich turned back to the match in time to see Hayes hit Parsons with a Bulldog out of the corner and get the pin.

Post Match:The Freebirds stood on the floor holding the titles. Michael Hayes said” The Von Erichs don't own Dallas anymore, the Freebirds have moved in and taken over!”

Bill Mercer

Next week right here an update on Gentleman Chris Adams, a special video look at a newcomer to the World Class area in the next few weeks Sir Lanny Poffo and Kevin Von Erich is in action against Unpredictable Johnny Rodz.

The Magic Dragon defeated Johnny Rich w/Toe Kick to the Throat

Gorgeous Gino Hernandez defeated Iceman King Parsons w/Cradle Rollup

Texas Heavyweight Title Match

Carlos Colon defeated Buddy Roberts-Champion by DQ when Roberts pulled referee Bronco Lubich into the path of a charging Colon.

MAIN EVENT

Kevin Von Erich vs Freebird Michael Hayes(Special Stipulation: David/Kerry Von Erich/Freebirds Buddy Roberts/Terry Gordy are banned from ringside)

“Freebird”by Lynard Skynard played through the Will Rogers Auditorium. Many in the crowd got on their feet and cheered the flamboyant Hayes as he made his way to the ring.Hayes strutted and pranced around and the crowd ate it up. Then came “Stranglehold” by Ted Nugent bringing out the barefoot “Golden Warrior” Kevin Von Erich who was mobbed by women at ringside.

Hayes and Von Erich got in each others faces pre-match throwing around accusations and insults.

Finally referee David Manning called for the bell and got the match under way. Much like all meetings lately between the Freebirds and Von Erichs things started off fast and furious. Von Erich attacked Hayes without mercy tackling the Freebird and taking him down to the mat. Von Erich immediately went for the Iron Claw on Hayes but was blocked. This made Von Erich go to the stomach with the Claw instead of the head. Hayes scrambled as fast as he could to get out of the ring. Hayes demanded Von Erich be moved back. A quick kick to the mid-section by Hayes doubled up Von Erich. Hayes hammered away with forearms to Von Erich's back dropping him to his knees. Hayes with a bodyslam, off the ropes with an elbow drop and a lazy cover gets a 1 count. Hayes hit an elbow off the ropes on Von Erich. Hayes whipped Von Erich to the corner. Hayes followed up with a pair of rights to the nose of Von Erich. A snapmare and into a rear chinlock by Hayes on Von Erich. Von Erich fought to his feet , threw Hayes into the corner, Von Erich charged into the corner, flying head scissors sent Hayes sprawling across the ring to the opposite corner. Von Erich with a driving knee into Hayes mid-section. Von Erich whipped Hayes across, Hayes reversed, Von Erich scaled the corner and came off with a flying crossbody block, Hayes rolled through, grabbing Von Erich's tights and got the 1.2.3.

Michael Hayes defeated Kevin Von Erich

Post Match: Hayes had his hand raised by David Manning, Kevin Von Erich argued about Hayes using the tights. Hayes jumped Von Erich from behind. Hayes went for a Bulldog out of the corner but Von Erich threw him off and Hayes landed hard. Hayes got to his feet and was met with an Iron Claw. Manning tried to get Von Erich to let go of Hayes but Von Erich ignored the referee. Hayes flailed wildly but couldn't get free. Hayes on his knees hit a low blow on Von Erich which finally allowed Hayes escape.

World Class Championship Wrestling(March 1983-Week 4)

Dallas Tx.-Sportatorium

Announcers-Bill Mercer,Marc Lowarance

Bill Mercer welcomes everyone to World Class, goes over what we will see today including the fact that Gentleman Chris Adams will be here in person to give an update on how his eye sight is doing and when we can expect a return to the ring as well as Kerry Von Erich in action against the Unpredictable Johnny Rodz. World Class Television champion Al Madril is here to accept Iceman King Parsons apology for the damage Parsons supposedly did to Madril's back a few weeks earlier during a match for the t.v. title. All that plus much much more on World Class Championship Wrestling.

Sweet Brown Sugar defeated Cowboy Tony Falk w/Body Splash

Bill Mercer

Sweet Brown Sugar chalks up another win here in World Class.

Sweet Brown Sugar

Mr.Mercer it's always great when you can get a win here. Tony Falk is no push over.

(Gino Hernandez comes down to ringside and interrupts the interview)

Why don't you take a hike, the Gorgeous one is here and taking over this time

Sweet Brown Sugar

Bill, I don't want to cause any trouble down here so I'm gonna walk away right now.

Bill Mercer

I appreciate that.

Gino Hernandez

Yeah, you just take a hike. Walk away because this is my time.

Bill Mercer

Well now that you've taken over this interview let me ask you about what happened last week. Why did you walk out of your match with Brian Adias?

Gino Hernandez

Bill Mercer, the Gorgeous one doesn't have to explain my actions to anyone least of all you. If I choose to walk out of the ring because I feel the competition isn't what it should be then I will walk out of the ring. Adias is nothing but an errand boy, a minor detour put there by the old man Fritz Von Erich because god forbid anyone put their hands on his precious little boys especially the Handsome Half-Breed. The old man knows if people see any of those goofy looking Von Erichs in the ring with me they'll be laughed out of Texas.

Bill Mercer

Some are saying you were a coward, walking out of the ring instead of facing Brian Adais

Gino Hernandez

Who? Who is calling me a coward? I am no coward, I am all man. I am the toughest son of gun ever to step foot in Sportatorium and anybody wants to find out then they will see just how truly bad to the bone I am.

Bill Mercer

Up next the Modern Day Warrior Kerry Von Erich takes on Johnny Rodz

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/88ac5918-acdc-4a1d-8d7c-4d909f730e5f_zps1ndz6rex.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/88ac5918-acdc-4a1d-8d7c-4d909f730e5f_zps1ndz6rex.png" border="0" alt=" photo 88ac5918-acdc-4a1d-8d7c-4d909f730e5f_zps1ndz6rex.png"/></a>

(“Tom Saywer”plays through the Sportatorium bringing the fans to their feet as Kerry Von Erich tries to make his way down to the ring through the throngs of women grabbing at him.)

Living up to his name unpredictable Rodz attacked Von Erich coming into the ring hoping to gain some advantage. Rodz hammered away at Kerry A snapmare and Rodz drives knees repeated into Kerry's back. Rodz yells at the crowded Sportatorium that he's in total control. Rodz begins choking Von Erich, drags him face first across the top rope. A “let's go Kerry!” chant begins. Rodz yells for the crowd to “Shut up!”

Rodz goes to the top rope and comes off. Kerry with the Iron Claw to the stomach. Rodz screams before raking Von Erich across the eyes. A forearm to the jaw staggers Kerry, Rodz off the ropes with another smash across the broad chest of Von Erich sends him back to the ropes, Von Erich bounces off Discus Punch sends Rodz sprawling. Von Erich drives Rodz to the corner, some knees to the mid-section. A whip to the opposite corner, Von Erich hits a backdrop on Rodz. Another whip to the ropes by Von Erich, Rodz ducks a clothesline, hits the ropes again and right into the Iron Claw. Rodz down to the mat. Referee Rick Hazzard counts 3 and the Modern Day Warrior comes out on top.

Bill Mercer

Kerry Von Erich with a win over the man they call Unpredictable Johnny Rodz. Fans lets take a look at a special video of a young man who will be coming to World Class in the weeks ahead known as Sir Lanny Poffo. He considers himself a knight of the Round Table, a poet and a wrestler.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/6cc45f25-8279-4a96-a48b-c565fd0c1eba_zpsp6bbmymt.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/6cc45f25-8279-4a96-a48b-c565fd0c1eba_zpsp6bbmymt.png" border="0" alt=" photo 6cc45f25-8279-4a96-a48b-c565fd0c1eba_zpsp6bbmymt.png"/></a>

Brian Adias/Carlos Colon defeated Mike Bond/The Samoan. Adias hit a side Russian Legsweep on Bond, tagged in Colon who did a splash from the apron over the top rope onto Bond. The Samoan tried to break up the pinfall but Adias hit him with a dropkick.

Bill Mercer

Quite the tag team you two have formed here. Any plans for the future.

Carlos Colon

Brian is very good and we work well together, you never know what might happen.

Brian Adias

Bill it's been a great honor to be in the ring with someone like Mr. Colon I just want to shake his hand and let him know how much I appreciated it.

Bill Mercer

Now Brian you heard Gino Hernandez out here earlier calling you a minor detour, an errand boy.

Brian Adias

All I know is last week Hernandez would rather walk away from the ring and take a count out then face me. He talks about being tough, being all man but what he did seemed like nothing more than him being scared to face me. Here in Texas we call that “being yellow” and Hernandez seems to be as yellow as they come.

Bill Mercer

Carlos, you've been here for a while now have you set any goals while you are here?

Carlos Colon

When I was on my island Puerto Rico I heard a lot about the wrestlers here in World Class. Then I get here and see these Freebirds and I think that they are very arrogant, very crude and I don't like them very much and then I see they have all the titles and I think this isn't right, these are not the types of people who should represent Texas and World Class and so maybe I fix this problem for the people of Texas just like I would for Puerto Rico.

Bill Mercer

So you're challenging the Freebirds? Anyone in particular?

Carlos Colon

I'll challenge one,two or all of them.It doesn't matter to me, if they want a tag team or 6 man I'm sure I can find a partner or two who wouldn't mind stepping in the ring with me.

Bill Mercer

Good luck to both you Carlos and to you Brian. When we return an update on Gentleman Chris Adams.

Marc Lowarance

Ladies and gentlemen we are going to dim the ring lights and we ask you refrain from any flash photography. Now if you will please welcome back to the Sportatorium Gentleman Chris Adams.

(The crowd cheers as Adams makes his way down to the ring with some assistance still wearing dark glasses. Adams slowly gets in the ring and feels his way around with help from the ring ropes)

Chris Adams

Marc it's good to be back here. Everyone knows I grew up in Stratford England, became a judo champion, and began wrestling there but I knew at some point that if I wanted to become one of the best in wrestling I had to come to America. I've been all over this great country. Up in Oregon and all through California and the people all through this country have been great to me but then I came to Dallas, Texas and I have never felt such acceptance as I have from the fans here in World Class. The way you have all stood behind me, encouraged me with thousands of cards and letters has left me speechless. All I can say is thank you all.

(Adams removes his sunglasses revealing one eye is still bandaged and the other is still a little red almost like a mild burn)As you all can see I'm on my way to having both eyes back. The left one is still a little blurry, the right is still bandaged at least for a while longer. I should be back to full health in the next few weeks and when I am the first thing I want is Kabuki's suspension lifted. He did this to me and I owe him for it.

Americas Champion Terry Bam Bam Gordy makes his way out to the ring.

Turn the lights back up! Look what we got here a whiney half blind Englishman. Boy you out here wanting a piece of Kabuki, you know I don't particularly care for that freak or that bald headed manager of his Gary Hart, but I really don't like you at all.

Chris Adams

(Adams puts the sunglasses back on)Are you getting to a point some time?

Terry Gordy

My point is what's to stop me from taking you out right here right now? It's not like you are in any shape to do something about it. Maybe I slap them glasses off you, maybe I dig my fingers into those eye sockets of yours, maybe I finish the job Kabuki and Hart didn't get done.

Chris Adams

That's a lot of maybes Gordy but I got one more for you. Maybe you oughta try.

(Gordy pushes Marc Lowrance out of the way and begins poking a finger in Adams chest bad-mouthing him the whole time. Adams hauls off and punches Gordy who fires back with a big slap knocking the sunglasses off of Adams. Gordy drops some bombs on Adams and whips him across the ropes. Gordy tries for a clothesline that Adams ducks. Adams plants himself as Gordy turns around and Adams with a glancing Superkick that shocks Bam Bam more than does any damage. Gordy drops to the mat and rolls out of the ring.. Adams points at Gordy, yelling at him. Kevin Von Erich comes out to the ring to help his friend before Gordy can regroup himself.)

Bill Mercer

Chris Adams with a Superkick to the Americas Heavyweight Champion. It didn't quite find it's mark due to Adams eyesight being compromised but it was enough to give Bam Bam second thoughts. After we get things settled down Terry Gordy will see action against Johnny Mantel.

Americas Heavyweight Champion Terry Bam Bam Gordy defeated Johnny Mantel w/Piledriver

Gordy was not in a good mood after the what happened just minutes earlier and Mantel paid the price. Gordy came at Mantel full bore and never let up. Gordy hit repeated clotheslines in the corner on Mantel. A couple of one armed body slams, a running elbow drop, a backbreaker, hip tosses out of the corner, Gordy tosses Mantell around like a rag doll Finally Gordy lifted Mantel up and hit him with a piledriver to get the pinfall.

Post Match-Gordy continued his assault on Mantel before finally tossing him over the top rope to the floor.

Terry Gordy

Chris Adams, boy you don't know what you have done. I don't care if you are half blind, by the time I'm done with you that's going to be the least of your problems. And if any of those Von Erichs want to stick their noses in to my business, good because I never get tired of beating on Von Erichs.

Bill Mercer

Right now I am joined by Iceman King Parsons who just a few short weeks ago was in a match against

Al Madil the World Class television champion. During the match Madril apparently sustained some sort of back injury. Madril has said it was caused by this man King Parsons and has demanded an apology from the Iceman.

Iceman King Parsons

Bill Mercer, my mama always taught me if you do wrong then you gotta pay for it. But if you always do right then you never have any regrets. Al Madril you think I did you wrong, that I hurt you. That you are owed an apology by me. Madril I don't owe you nothing. You see my mama also taught me to smell a pack a lies a mile away and I know you ain't hurt at all and you know you ain't hurt.

Bill Mercer

You believe Madril is not being truthful?

Iceman King Parsons

I've known from the start deep down in my bones he's lying.

Bill Mercer

Do you have any proof that Al Madril is not as injured as he claims.

Iceman King Parsons(smiles and rubs his chin)

Ya know I just might, I just might.

(Parsons walks away)

Bill Mercer

That's all fans until next week so long.

National Heavyweight Champion-Ivan Koloff

National Tag Team Champions-Brad/Bob Armstrong

Television Champion-Hacksaw Butch Reed

Alabama Jr. Heavyweight Champion-Pistol Pez Whatley

Highlights for World Championship Wrestling with Gordon Solie/Ole Anderson

Saturday Night-TBS Studios

Gordon welcomed everyone to the program and brought in Ole Anderson to discuss the recent situations in WCW. Gordon discussed the “turmoil over the National Heavyweight title between Larry Zbyszko and Ivan Koloff as well as the new National Tag Team Champions The Armstrongs.'

Ole questioned “whether the NWA was going to insert themselves into the situation with Zbyszko and Koloff.” Gordon said “I would suspect that they would almost have to. They can't let this go on for too long.”

Ole then stepped away as Precious Paul Ellering made his way to talk to Gordon.

Precious Paul discussed with Gordon Hacksaw Butch Reed and Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/1538b38f-8085-417f-bb8d-1860cf36cd6e_zpsxiyojuyf.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/1538b38f-8085-417f-bb8d-1860cf36cd6e_zpsxiyojuyf.png" border="0" alt=" photo 1538b38f-8085-417f-bb8d-1860cf36cd6e_zpsxiyojuyf.png"/></a>

Paul Ellering

Everyone has tried and everyone has failed to stop the Mad Dog and you Butch Reed will be in the company of those that failed.

Gordon noted that

Hacksaw Reed met Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer in the Omni just 6 days earlier and that Reed emerged victorious and remains the television champion.

Paul Ellering

Gordon that was just a minor skirmish for the Mad Dog. It was nothing of consequence. Just a test to see what Butch Reed is made of, what kind of man is he. Remember Gordon this is the 1980s it's the computer age, it's all about the information, information equals power and I am very powerful indeed.

Ole rejoined Gordon and commented that

Sometimes I really don't know what Ellering is talking about or what point he is trying to make but what he says for some reason makes me uneasy.”

Gordon Solie

I would concur with that, Mr. Ellering does have a way of saying things that can make one uncertain about what is to come. In the ring Mr.Wrestling II set to move out against the Golden Boy Chick Donovan. Donovan a well rounded athlete, competed in amateur wrestling in high school and college, has won several bodybuilding and powerlifting titles so not a man to be taken lightly.

Ole Anderson

Donovan's got a good look, been in wrestling a few years and has done well for himself.

Gordon Solie

Mr.Wrestling II having his problems as of late with a man proclaiming himself to be the only Mr.Wrestling.

Ole Anderson

We've known Wrestling II as well as the original Mr.Wrestling Tim Woods and we along with everyone else know this person running around here saying he's Mr.Wrestling is obviously not.

Gordon Solie

Speaking of which there at ringside is Mr.Wrestling and he seems to be encouraging Donovan to remove Wrestling II's mask. Donovan tries for the mask but now has just raised the ire of Wrestling II. A backdrop by II and he sets for that patented Bionic Kneelift. Donovan up and hit with the Bionic Kneelift and a cover gets the pin for Wrestling II. II now holding the ropes open for Mr.Wrestling to get in and face him. Mr.Wrestling thinks better of it and backs away

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/90fc5261-5c64-40aa-a627-1dca9da8b52c_zps16fcte2t.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/90fc5261-5c64-40aa-a627-1dca9da8b52c_zps16fcte2t.png" border="0" alt=" photo 90fc5261-5c64-40aa-a627-1dca9da8b52c_zps16fcte2t.png"/></a>

Mr.Wrestling II

You see Gordon, this man and I hesitate to call him that, this man cannot get the job done. I beat him in the Omni, I was this close to pulling off that insult he calls a mask. It's an insult to everything I believe, an insult to everything I stand for and if it's the last thing I ever do I will remove that mask from you, who ever you are.”

Wildfire Tommy Rich joined Gordon, they talked about Wild Bill Irwin pulling out the victory over Rich at the Omni.

Gordon Solie

You had your problems this past Sunday at the Omni with Bill Irwin.

Tommy Rich

Gordon, I'll give credit where it's due, Wild Bill Irwin is a tough, tough customer, he's big, he's mean and he pinned my shoulders to the mat 1.2.3. Nobody can take that away from him but what he did after the match was uncalled for.

Gordon Solie

Let's take a look at some video of what Tommy is talking about.(Cuts to footage from the Omni). These are the closing moments of that match. Now you seem to have everything going your way.

Tommy Rich

I thought I had Irwin right where I wanted him. You see me throw him into the ropes, he reverses it sending me into the ropes.”

Gordon Solie

You come off going for a Thesz Press, the move you won the NWA World Title with but Irwin had you well scouted and there, your forward momentum meeting that size 14 boot of Irwin's. And down you went, Irwin with the cover and the pinfall. Now what happens next might be a little too graphic for some of our younger viewers.”

Tommy Rich

Now I'm really dazed here Gordon, not sure what is going on, the referee trying to help me to my feet and what does Irwin do? He brings out that bullwhip of his and cracks it at the referee who heads for higher ground”

Gordon Solie

Irwin catches you of the ropes jamming the handle whip into your throat. Now this is where things get out of control. Irwin wraps that whip around your throat and throws you over the top rope. You are being hanged by the throat. Luckily Ron Garvin and Pez Whatley came out before any permanent injury took place.

Tommy Rich

It's good to have friends and I wanna thank Pez and Ronnie for being there at the Omni for me. But I also got something to say to Wild Bill Irwin. Son you got my attention now! You beat me in the ring, I can live with that but then you try and hang me, try and choke the life from me well that gets me all fired up! You just better watch your back because this Tennessee boy is coming after you!

Gordon Solie

Coming up we will see one Wild Bill Irwin in action, the new National tag team champions Bob and Brad Armstrong, and Hacksaw Butch Reed will defend his television title against The Iron Sheik.

<strong>(The Armstrongs chalk up a win as champions)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Gordon Solie </strong></p><p>

I'm joined by the new National Tag Team Champions Bob and Brad Armstrong and you must be very happy to be the new champions.</p><p>

<strong>Brad Armstrong</strong></p><p>

Mr. Solie it's always great to talk to you but it's especially great being out with my dad and being the tag team champions. </p><p>

<strong>Gordon Solie </strong></p><p>

Well you have a right to be proud of what you've both accomplished.</p><p>

<strong>Bob Armstrong</strong></p><p>

I've told Brad exactly that, be proud but don't get a big head. The easy part is over, winning the titles, the hard work is just beginning which is keeping the titles around the Armstrong's waist.</p><p>

<strong>(J.J Dillon comes out)</strong></p><p><strong>

J.J.Dillon</strong></p><p>

Gordon as you know I managed the former holders of those belts right there. And as you also know something happened with my team that I never thought would. After the Armstrongs, who I did not give enough credit to won the belts, the former holders, and yes I will say it, the Moondogs left the area because of the Armstrongs. Now I am not out here to cry about spilt milk, what's done is done. All I am out here to do is prove that I have no ill will toward the Armstrongs and congratulate both of them on a job well done.</p><p>

(J.J. offers his hand to Brad and Bob who oblige and shake his hand)</p><p>

<strong>Gordon Solie</strong></p><p>

Well Mr. Dillon that is very gracious of you.</p><p>

<strong>J.J Dillon</strong></p><p>

Don't be so surprised Gordon, I have always been willing to admit however rare it is when I am wrong and in this instance I was.</p><p>

<strong>Bob Armstrong</strong></p><p>

I never thought I would ever say this but James J. Dillon I appreciate you being man enough to do what you've done.</p><p>

<strong>Brad Armstrong</strong></p><p>

Thank you Mr.Dillon</p><p>

<strong>Gordon Solie</strong></p><p>

Well, how about that. Let's go to the ring as Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer takes on Pat Rose. Sawyer accompanied as always by Precious Paul Ellering set to move out against Pat Rose. Rose is a fine wrestler and should give Sawyer some competition. Ellering at ringside talking as always. Sawyer moves in. Waist lock takedown and ride by Sawyer, Rose reverses with sit-out, Sawyer keeps the pressure on. Rose gets to the ropes, Sawyer with knees to the back. Sawyer is one of those rear individuals who seems to have no sense of fear of anything or anyone. He will fight a chainsaw and give it the first 2 rounds. Sawyer rubbing Rose's face in the mat. Sawyer chokes Rose on the middle rope, Sawyer with a knee to the back of the neck then flings Rose to the mat. Sawyer with a high vertical suplay on Rose. Sawyer covers, pulls Rose up at 2. Obviously Sawyer could have pinned his man. Sawyer with a whip to the ropes, backdrop attempt, Rose with a Sunset flip gets 1. Rose with punches. Whips the Mad Dog to the ropes, dropkick misses as Sawyer holds on to the ropes. Sawyer picks Rose up, standing powerslam by Sawyer gets the 3 count.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer</strong></p><p>

Gordon Solie, the Mad Dog is going to Marietta Georgia, Saginaw Michigan, Cleveland Ohio. Anybody, anywhere in this world who thinks they can beat the Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer. I don't care if your from Texas, New York, Florida, Japan or Mexico the Mad Dog will beat you. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Gordon is joined by Wild Bill Irwin</strong></p><p>

All I heard about is Wildfire Tommy Rich this and Wildfire Tommy Rich that before I came here to Atlanta. Rich I pinned you 1.2.3 in The Omni in front of all your fans.</p><p>

<strong>Gordon Solie</strong> </p><p>

That's not all you did sir, you took it upon yourself after beating your opponent to try and injure Tommy Rich with that bullwhip of yours.</p><p>

<strong>Wild Bill Irwin</strong></p><p>

I wanted to make sure everyone including Tommy Rich know that Wild Bill Irwin means business. Rich says I better watch out for him. Rich here I am, all you got a do is get in the ring. You know Mr.Solie Rich must be scared to death of me after the beating I gave him at the Omni that's why he doesn't want to come out and face me.</p><p>

<strong>Gordon Solie </strong></p><p>

I find that a little hard to believe, if you would direct your attention to the ring Mr.Irwin</p><p>

<strong>(Irwin is a bit stunned as standing in the ring is Tommy Rich.)</strong></p><p>

<strong>Wild Bill Irwin</strong></p><p>

What he thinks I won't get in the ring and beat him down again.</p><p>

(Irwin throws off is hat,and duster and heads to the ring)</p><p>

<strong>Gordon Solie</strong></p><p>

Seems we have an impromptu match as Irwin enters the ring and Wildfire Tommy Rich hammers away with those rights to the jaw. Irwin fires back with rights of his own. Tosses Rich to the corner, knees by Irwin on Rich, Irwin puts that size 14 boot across Tommy's throat. Whip to the corner, Irwin follows with a big boot to the jaw of Rich. Irwin called Tommy Rich out and Rich answered but is now paying the price as Irwin is just unloading on Rich. A whip to the ropes, Irwin with that running kick to the face, the same maneuver that put Rich down in the Omni for the 3 count. Irwin of the ropes with a big knee drop to the chest. Irwin pulls Rich up, fires away with fists, Rich blocks and begins pounding away with rights of his own, Irwin swings, Rich ducks, elbow to the head of Irwin staggers him back to the corner. Irwin is finding out rather quickly that if you want a fight Rich will give you one. Irwin with a knee to the gut of Wildfire Tommy Rich drops him to his knees. Irwin getting his second wind drops a forearm across the back of the neck. Irwin picks Rich up for a full body slam. Irwin a big, strong individual again with those massive forearm shots across the neck of Rich. A whip to the ropes, back drop attempt by Irwin, Rich leap frogs over, a dropkick sends Irwin to the ropes. Rich fires off a couple more rights and stuns Irwin. A whip to the ropes again and Wildfire Tommy Rich with a sleeper on Irwin. Rich has that sleeper locked in and Irwin seems to be fading rather quickly. Oh my what is this Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer attacks Rich from behind . Buzz Sawyer has charged the ring Irwin grabs Rich's arms as Mad Dog Sawyer punches away at Rich. A 2 on 1 situation here for Wildfire Tommy Rich as Irwin and Sawyer pick their shots. And here comes Hacksaw Butch Reed in to save Rich. Reed with fists to Sawyer sends him out of the ring. A whip to the ropes by Reed on Irwin, Reed with a flying shoulder tackle sends Irwin rolling to the floor. Reed is ready for some more as Rich gets to his feet.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hacksaw Butch Reed-Champion vs The Iron Sheik w/Precious Paul Ellering</strong></p><p><strong>

Gordon Solie</strong></p><p>

The Iron Sheik with Paul Ellering at ringside holding the Iranian flag. Hacksaw Butch Reed the champion always in tremendous physical condition. Sheik receives some last minute instruction from Ellering. Paul Ellering a very unusual man in his own right, a former wrestler who was forced out of everyday competition due to a knee injury, is a world class powerlifter, a top ranked bodybuilder and has a very keen mind and high level of intelligence. Reed and Sheik lockup, neither man willing to give any quarter. Back into the ropes, Reed wary of the Iron Sheik who surprisingly breaks clean. Sheik a tremendous athlete in his own right, a top Olympic wrestler and his skills with the Persian clubs is well known. They lock up again, jockeying for position . Sheik gets the advantage, a belly-to-belly suplay takes Reed over. The Iron Sheik well versed in a variety of suplays. The Sheik locks on a front chancellery, cinching up tightly on that carotid artery limiting the blood flow to the brain. Reed using that impressive strength lifts the Sheik up and carries him to the corner. The Iron Sheik yelling at the ref about being treated like this by Hacksaw Reed. A quick conference with Ellering and Sheik back to the match. A lockup again, Sheik more aggressive now with forearms to the lower back of Reed.</p><p>

Sheik with a Gut Wrench Salto, some kicks to the chest by the Sheik. The match has a 10 minute time limit which is rapidly expiring. Sheik with a backbreaker on Reed. Sheik proud of himself as Paul Ellering applauds at ringside. Sheik whips Reed to the ropes, Abdominal Stretch by Sheik, using the ropes for extra leverage. Reed fights out of it, tossing Sheik to the canvas. Reed grabs Sheik into the ropes, a high backdrop by the Hacksaw sees the Sheik land hard. Sheik on his knees pleading with Reed. A kick by Reed, pulls the Iron Sheik up, whip to the ropes, a dropkick by the 260 pounder. Reed has remarkable agility for such a large heavily muscled man. Sheik to his feet, Reed off the ropes, a modified forearm shot to the jaw. Reed has everything rolling his way now. </p><p>

Reed catches the Iron Sheik off the ropes into a full press and slam. Reed to the 2nd rope perched like a cat. Sheik to his feet. Ellering yelling instructions, Sheik somewhat dazed turns, Reed off with a flying shoulder tackle. Reed covers 1.2. Oh my Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer has just hit the ring and attacked Reed. Double team by Sawyer and Sheik at the direction of Precious Paul Ellering. And here comes Wildfire Tommy Rich to even up the odds. Hacksaw Reed and Wildfire Rich teeing off on Sawyer and the Sheik. Now Wild Bill Irwin has joined the fray kick to Rich, one for Reed and Ron Garvin in the ring starts throwing those right hands leveling Sawyer,Sheik and Irwin and folks we have a real pier 6 brawl going on. Rich throws the Iron Sheik thru the ropes to the floor, Irwin misses a big boot to Reed and his hit with clothesline sending him over the top. Garvin tees off on Sawyer, Rich with some shots of his own to the Mad Dog. Reed whips Sawyer to the ropes and has that right fist ready and Sawyer drops down and rolls out of the ring. Folks we are out of time for this week. So long.</p>

Announcers Gordon Solie, Ole Anderson

Gordon and Ole discuss that there could possibly be some news from the NWA regarding the National title along with the show ending brawl from the previous week.

Paul Ellering and Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer join Gordon

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/fbe89cda-4ef1-46dc-8a69-10579ac6c2c2_zpswbqqyfbg.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/fbe89cda-4ef1-46dc-8a69-10579ac6c2c2_zpswbqqyfbg.png" border="0" alt=" photo fbe89cda-4ef1-46dc-8a69-10579ac6c2c2_zpswbqqyfbg.png"/></a>

Buzz Sawyer

Butch Reed I told you it was just the start, Rich I told you it ain't every gonna end and now Garvin you want to stick your nose in the Mad Dog's business. We 'll see how big and bad you are.

Paul Ellering

Ron Garvin you are tough, a very tough man. You have been called the one man gang because of that toughness but you have never fought a mad dog.

Buzz Sawyer

Everyone thinks they're a tough guy, that they're somebody.Well you ain't nobody til you get in the ring with the Mad Dog. I don't care who it is, Garvin,Reed,The Armstrongs. You come to Atlanta and the Mad Dog will show you what it's all about.

Gordon Solie

Let's go to the ring as the National Heavyweight Champion Ivan Koloff takes on Gene Ligon

Ole Anderson rejoins Gordon

You know you can't take anything away from Sawyer but he might find himself in for more than he bargained for with Ron Garvin.

Gordon Solie

Sawyer has a very extreme and aggressive personality and that can sometimes cause him to get himself into situations that are more difficult then he originally imagined.

Ivan Koloff defeated Gene Ligon w/Driving Knee to the Back

Ligon never really got any sort of offense in and the Russian Bear made quick work of him.

Ivan Koloff

Gordon Solie, the Russian people want to know, I want to know where is my title? For weeks this Zbyszko has run around with my property claiming to be champion. We have been very patient but our patience is running out.

Gordon Solie

We are supposed to have some word during the program from the NWA Board of Directors regarding your situation.

Ivan Koloff

There is only one decision to be made. Make this Zbyszko return my title, the title I won. There is no other choice. If not then I will take these matters into my own hands.

Gordon Solie

I hope that won't be necessary. The NWA is the oldest governing body in professional wrestling. I'm sure whatever decision they make will be fair.

Ivan Koloff

This Zbyszko is nothing more than a thief in the night. This would never be tolerated in the Soviet Union. Just another example of how weak you Americans are.

(Koloff stalks off)

Gordon Solie

Hopefully we will receive some sort of word soon so that this situation can be remedied. Let's go to the ring for our next match as Mr.Wrestling takes on Mike Starbuck.

Ole Anderson

Starbuck is a good looking kid with some talent and should give this Mr.Wrestling a good match.

Gordon Solie

I would like to point out that this is not Tim Woods the original Mr.Wrestling, nor his successor Mr.Wrestling II. This man has been claiming to be the one, the only true Mr.Wrestling and has been giving Wrestling II problems. For his part Wrestling II has tried on several occasions to remove Mr.Wrestling's mask but to no avail.

Mr.Wrestling defeated Mike Starbuck w/Kneelift.

Mr.Wrestling

Wrestling II, you've tried to take my mask and failed. But I won't fail when I rip yours off and expose you for the fraud you are.

Gordon Solie

Right now I'm joined by Ron Garvin and Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer and Paul Ellering had some words to say about you.

Ron Garvin

Well Gordon, Ellering and Sawyer can talk all they want about me. All that matters is what happens in that ring. Sawyer, I ain't never been afraid of no man in my entire life. You may be the Mad Dog but you're also just a man. Anytime you want to step in the ring with me I'm here, I'm ready to go.

Gordon Solie

As I said earlier Sawyer is a very, very tough man, he has no fear and sometimes that can get him into some trouble and I believe this is one of those cases.

Ron Garvin

He is very tough and not to be taken lightly. But I'm no push over either. He gets in the ring with me it's gonna be a knock down drag out fight.

Ron Garvin defeated The Bounty Hunter w/Flying Head Scissors.

Gordon Solie

I'm joined by Larry Zbsyzko right now.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/a1a56e87-c539-4f50-b457-4ad1951a0fe4_zpswaassjax.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/a1a56e87-c539-4f50-b457-4ad1951a0fe4_zpswaassjax.png" border="0" alt=" photo a1a56e87-c539-4f50-b457-4ad1951a0fe4_zpswaassjax.png"/></a>

Larry Zbyszko

I heard Koloff out here running his mouth, calling me a thief in the night, Koloff you sir are the thief and a lair. You took my money and refused to honor our deal. All I did was take what is rightfully mine, bought and paid for. I don't care what you think, what these people out here think, what Koloff thinks or what the NWA thinks. This is my title, I am the champion pure and simple.

Gordon Solie

Well the NWA which sanctions World Championship Wrestling I'm sure will think otherwise.

Larry Zbyszko

What are a bunch of old men up in Kansas City going to do?

Gordon Solie

I'd rather not speculate on that but let's go to the ring as Killer Brooks takes on Randy Barber

Killer Brooks defeated Randy Barber w/Legdrop.

As Larry Zbyszko looked on, Brooks took his time with Barber inflicting maximum punishment.Zbyszko added his two cents slamming Barber's head into the ring apron. Brooks hit a standing legdrop for the pinfall.

Gordon Solie

Coming up Wildfire Tommy Rich,The Iron Sheik and Hacksaw Butch Reed.

Gordon Solie

Welcome back. In this second hour you will see Wildfire Tommy Rich, The Iron Sheik and Hacksaw Butch Reed but first I've been informed that we have received a video tape from the NWA offices in Kansas City with their response to the situation between Ivan Koloff and Larry Zbyszko and the National Heavyweight title. If we can let's go to the video with NWA President Bob Geigel.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/b130bfee-97e5-49e5-895d-3a5dffd5db92_zpsdsfsotdu.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/b130bfee-97e5-49e5-895d-3a5dffd5db92_zpsdsfsotdu.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo b130bfee-97e5-49e5-895d-3a5dffd5db92_zpsdsfsotdu.jpg"/></a>

NWA President Bob Geigel

The NWA Board of Directors has looked into the situation with the National Heavyweight title very extensively over these last few weeks and has come to a decision.

After examining the circumstances surrounding the National Heavyweight title the NWA has issued forth the following decision. Under no circumstances can any title under the NWA banner be bought, sold, or traded.Despite Mr.Zbyszko's lawyers insistence that there was a verbal contract between Mr.Zbyszko and Ivan Koloff and that money did exchange hands for services rendered. Mr.Zbyszko could not buy the National Heavyweight title and is not the National Heavyweight champion. Mr.Zbyszko has 7 days to surrender the title to NWA officials and for it to be returned to it's legal, rightful owner and recognized champion Ivan Koloff. This decree is binding and absolute. If Mr.Zbyszko chooses not to surrender the title he will incur a fine and face a possible suspension.

Gordon Solie is joined by a ranting and raving Larry Zbyszko

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/4e8fb97a-00ef-4180-aa7a-748021376b9b_zpsi3bow8po.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/4e8fb97a-00ef-4180-aa7a-748021376b9b_zpsi3bow8po.png" border="0" alt=" photo 4e8fb97a-00ef-4180-aa7a-748021376b9b_zpsi3bow8po.png"/></a>

This is unfair, a miscarriage of justice! I will not be treated this way, when I cracked Bruno Sammartino over the head with a chair I became the Living Legend of professional wrestling, I am the National Heavyweight champion, I bought and paid for this belt, it's mine I don't care what Geigel says. They can fine me, they can suspend me I don't care, they will never get this title

Gordon Solie

Apparently Mr. Zbyszko has a decision to make by next week. Right now I'm joined by the National Television champion Hacksaw Butch Reed. And you sir have been having some problems as of late with the Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer and now the Iron Sheik.

Butch Reed

Mr. Solie since I won this belt they've all been crawling out of the woodwork to try and take it away from me but what it all comes down to is Paul Ellering. He's the head of the snake, Sawyer and Sheik are just parts of it. Ellering, you send who ever you can to try and take this title and all they are gonna run into Mr.Left and Mr.Right.

(Wildfire Tommy Rich makes his way to the interview podium)

You tell'em brother. You watch my back, I'll watch yours!

Butch Reed

You know it!

Gordon Solie

Well it seems quite the collaboration has been forged.

Ole Anderson

Rich and Reed are not to be taken lightly but as a team they could be unstoppable.

Gordon Solie

I would have to agree and if you put Ron Garvin in that mix, one of the toughest individuals I have seen ever step foot in the ring in my 20+years in this sport that is one potent combination. Let's go to the match we have in the ring as Tommy Rich gets set to move out against Chick Donovan as I am being joined by the Iron Sheik.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/ba16dc3d-b7c9-47d3-9bba-75dffd28a478_zps1w0ucqnd.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/ba16dc3d-b7c9-47d3-9bba-75dffd28a478_zps1w0ucqnd.png" border="0" alt=" photo ba16dc3d-b7c9-47d3-9bba-75dffd28a478_zps1w0ucqnd.png"/></a>

The Iron Sheik

This Wildfire Tommy Rich pthh, I spit on him, I spit on this Hacksaw Reed and this Ron Garvin and all you pathetic Americans. The great Precious Paul has said he wants these men gone, he wants them hurt, The Iron Sheik will do it. Iran #1

Gordon Solie

The Iron Sheik is a double tough individual and Rich could be in for some problems. But right now Wildfire Tommy Rich has Chick Donovan in a side headlock clamping down tightly, putting pressure on the ears, and causing problems for Donovan's equalibrium. Donovan a well conditioned athlete tosses Rich into the ropes, shoulderblock knocks Donovan down, Rich with an arm drag into a standing armbar. Donovan backs Rich to the corner, referee Scrappy McGowan calls for a break, Donovan with a cheap shot stuns Rich. Donovan with shoulder-blocks in the corner has Rich hurt. Donovan with a snap-mare followed up by splash on Rich gets 2. Donovan whips Rich to the ropes, Rich ducks a clothesline, comes off with a Thesz Press gets 2. Rich whips Donovan to the ropes again, buries a fist to the mid-section doubling up Donovan. Rich with the point of the elbow to the back of the head of Donovan. Rich with an Irish whip to the corner. Rich mounts the 2nd rope, monkey flip out of the corner. Rich whips Donovan to the ropes again and Rich with a Sleeper hold. That forearm of Rich's resting across the carotid artery cutting off the blood flow to the brain and the ref calls for the bell as Wildfire Tommy Rich gets the duke.

(Ron Garvin joins Gordon)

Gordon everyone is out here and wants to run their mouth, Sheik, Sawyer, Ellering you name it. Everybody wants to make threats and tell you how tough they are. I don't claim to be the biggest or baddest guy walking the earth but you will know you've been in a fight.

(Buzz Sawyer w/Paul Ellering interrupt the interview)

Buzz Sawyer

Garvin you talk about not being the baddest man that's because your looking right at him. No one survives a match with the Mad Dog.

Ron Garvin

Let's get in the ring then Sawyer

(Sawyer is ready to go but Ellering tries to hold him back. Garvin starts mocking Sawyer from the ring, calling him chicken. Sawyer has had enough and pushes past Precious Paul)

Gordon Solie

Garvin and Sawyer in the ring is like mixing fire and gasoline, it's explosive. Both men ask no quarter and give no quarter. Garvin and Sawyer are hammering away on each other . Gavin with a chop across Sawyer's chest, Sawyer matches Gavin's chop. Sawyer dives at Garvin taking him down to the mat. Neither man gaining an advantage. And you can see Ellering at ringside beside himself as he didn't want Buzz Sawyer get in the ring with Ron Garvin but Sawyer does not know fear or know about retreating, the man is 100% full bore all the time but I believe he has met his match in Ron Garvin who matches Sawyer in intensity. Garvin has Sawyer back pedaling with those rights of his into the corner, Sawyer with a kick to the mid-section. Sawyer grabs Garvin and takes him over to the mat, grinding away at the head. Garvin fights to his feet, throws Sawyer off to the corner. Garvin in, flying head scissors takes Sawyer over. Sawyer to his feet. Garvin starts throwing right jabs at will rocking Sawyer.

Saywer dazed, swings wildly and misses, Garvin with an Atomic Drop sends Sawyer to the outside. Ellering trying to get Sawyer back to his senses. Sawyer back in the ring back pedaling , Garvin moves in, Sawyer nails Garvin with a knee.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/736dbb26-683c-4452-a29f-e07594f77332_zpsn5kwm2si.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/736dbb26-683c-4452-a29f-e07594f77332_zpsn5kwm2si.png" border="0" alt=" photo 736dbb26-683c-4452-a29f-e07594f77332_zpsn5kwm2si.png"/></a>

(Buzz Sawyer and Ron Garvin)

Sawyer lifts Garvin up for a high vertical suplay. Sawyer just holding Garvin in the air all the blood rushing to Garvin's head. Finally Sawyer brings Garvin down hard. The Mad Dog very proud of himself after that, Ellering breathing a sigh of relief now that his man is in firm control. Sawyer rakes the bottom of the boot across Garvin's forehead and now Garvin is just being brutalized by Buzz Sawyer who rakes Garvin's eyes across those steel ring ropes. Sawyer choking Garvin on the top rope and snaps Garvin back to the mat. Sawyer grabs Garvin holding him down on the mat with a front face-lock. You can hear the fans here in the TBS studios solidly behind Ron Garvin. Garvin up to his feet backs Sawyer up to the ropes. Garvin throws Sawyer off, Sawyer reverses, Garvin back across, Sawyer leap frogs over a charging Garvin, Sawyer drops down to the mat, Garvin back again, Sawyer up, another leap frog over, Sawyer drops to the mat again, Garvin stops short. Sawyer up to his feet turns around, Garvin connects with a series of rights backs the Mad Dog up to the ropes. Garvin with a whip, Sawyer off, a big back drop. Garvin getting his second wind begins stomping on Sawyer. Ellering on the ring apron, Garvin connects with a right jab sending Mr. Ellering down to the floor. Sawyer up spins Garvin around, Garvin with a headbutt, Garvin whips Sawyer into the ropes, reversal by Sawyer, Garvin off, Sawyer tries for a backdrop, Garvin over the top

Sunset Flip has Sawyer down 1.2.3.

Post Match-Ron Garvin has pinned Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer, Ellering in the ring and stomps on Garvin, Sawyer joins in attacking Garvin. Garvin begins throwing rights and lefts, sticking and moving. Sawyer is down, Garvin has Ellering and here comes the Iron Sheik nailing Garvin with the Iranian flag across the the lower back, Garvin is down . Ellering demanding retribution. Sheik grabs Garvin and has locked in the Camel Clutch. Wrestlers from the back come to the ring and are being tossed out just as fast by Sawyer. And oh my here comes Hacksaw Reed and Tommy Rich and Ellering,Sawyer and the Sheik beat a hasty retreat.

Gordon Solie

I'm joined by James J. Dillon who last week came out and was very complimentary to the Armstrongs and their becoming the National tag team champions.

J.J.Dillon

Like I said Gordon I am man enough to admit that I underestimated the Armstrongs and they did something that I thought no team could do and that was not only beat the Moondogs but run them out of the Atlanta. Now that being said I will also admit I had an ulterior motive last week.

Gordon Solie

Oh really and what would that be?

J.J.Dillon

Gordon I have always managed champions, it's what I do and do well and currently I am without any champions to manage and there are some champions with out any sort of adviser. Now after what I've witnessed the last few weeks I believe I can take the Armstrongs to that next level, all the way to the top.

(Bob/Brad Armstrong join Gordon/J.J)

Bob Armstrong

Dillon I knew you couldn't be trusted.

J.J.Dillon

Bob don't get me wrong. What I said last week about you and your talented son was the truth and what I'm saying this week is the truth as well. I believe that you have that spark, something I didn't see before and that led you to those titles. But I also firmly believe that with my help you could go all the way to the NWA World Tag Team titles, in time.

Bob Armstrong

We don't need or want your kind of help Dillon!

J.J.Dillon

I understand your reservations Bob but I'll tell you what I'll give you some time to discuss it with Brad and address whatever concerns you have.

Bob Armstrong

I don't need to discuss it I'll give you an answer right now…

Brad Armstrong

Dad, maybe we oughta at least listen to what he has to say.

J.J.Dillon

Your son at least seems to have an open mind.

Bob Armstrong

There's nothing to discuss and Dillon keep your nose out of the Armstrong family.

(Bob/Brad head to the ring)

Gordon Solie

Well it seems like you've been summarily re-buffed Mr.Dillon.

J.J.Dillon

Mmmm, give it some time Gordon. Rome wasn't built in a day.

(J.J. leaves and Ole rejoins Gordon)

Gordon Solie

Well that was unexpected J.J.Dillon offering his services to the Armstrongs

Ole Anderson

I've known J.J.Dillon for a long time. Alot of the things he has done we may not like or approve of but he is a very smart man.

Gordon Solie

He is also very successful I might add but Bob Armstrong as well as being very successful in his own right is also very stubborn.

Ole Anderson

You're right Gordon, Armstrong told Dillon no and I don't see any way that Dillon would get him to change his mind.

Gordon Solie

And the National tag team champions in the ring as Bob and Brad take on the team Pat Rose/George South. And Bob Armstrong and George South start off and Armstrong takes control quickly backing South into the corner. A hip toss by Armstrong on South. South scrambles to his corner and tags in Pat Rose. Rose is met with a hip toss, an arm-drag and Armstrong with a wrist-lock on Rose. Armstrong backs to his corner and tags in Brad. Rose breaks free and backs away. Armstrong and Rose collar elbow tie up. Rose throws Armstrong to the ropes, Armstrong comes off, leap frogs over Rose. A beautiful standing dropkick by Brad sends Rose down. A tag to George South, a lockup, South rakes the eyes, fore-arm shots to the head of Armstrong. South tries for a vertical suplay, Armstrong blocks it, rolls South up into a small package that gets 2. Tag to Bob Armstrong who hits South with a flurry of chops to the side of the neck and shoulders. A whip to the ropes and back elbow drops South to the mat. Armstrong stomps South in the mid-section. Bob tosses South to his corner, Rose tags back in and Bob Armstrong is all over Rose hammering away. Armstrong with a snap-mare, drives a knee to the back of Rose repeatedly. Armstrong pulls Rose up whips him to the corner. Rose climbs to the second buckle and comes off with a cross body-block . Armstrong showing the experience moves out of the way as Rose lands hard. Armstrong stands with his hands on his hips looking at Rose. A tag to Brad, Bob whips Rose to the ropes and buries a fist in Rose mid-section. Brad in and hits a Russian leg-sweep with a float over for the 1.2.3.

Gordon Solie

And as you heard earlier a big card at the Omni here in Atlanta next Sunday but first World Championship Wrestling will be heading to Marietta Georgia at the Marietta Civic Center as Wildfire Tommy Rich you will be taking on the Iron Sheik.

Tommy Rich

Gordon, I'm all fired up to get back to Marietta. Iron Sheik you come out here talking about me, talking about how you want to hurt me, put me out of wrestling, put Butch Reed out of wrestling. Well son in Marietta you go ahead and take your best shot and see what happens when you get in there with a wild eyed Southern boy.

(Tommy Rich heads to the ring)

Gordon Solie

Tommy heads to the ring to move out against a young but very formidable looking individual in Ray Traylor who stands 6'5 and is easily over that 300 pound mark. But it's not about the size of man in the fight it's about the size of the fight in the man and Tommy Rich is as tenacious as they come.

Gordon Solie

And I've been joined by one Precious Paul Ellering.

Paul Ellering

Gordon Solie you can throw out all the platitudes you want about Tommy Rich but the fact remains that he in no way compares to the Iron Sheik. The man is a former Olympian, a master of the Persian clubs.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/1e21b45d-9790-49e0-a084-0efa82ce3120_zpsuh0klxfz.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/1e21b45d-9790-49e0-a084-0efa82ce3120_zpsuh0klxfz.png" border="0" alt=" photo 1e21b45d-9790-49e0-a084-0efa82ce3120_zpsuh0klxfz.png"/></a>

Gordon Solie

Rich in complete control of Traylor right now with a side headlock. Traylor throws Rich off, Rich off the ropes and hits a brick wall as the massive Traylor doesn't budge. Traylor grabs Rich and a powerful full slam to the mat has Rich in some trouble.

Paul Ellering

See Gordon despite your waxing poetic over Rich he is being easily handled by this man.

Gordon Solie

Traylor with an Irish whip to the corner. Traylor backs up and charges in. Rich moves out of the way, Traylor hits the corner turns around and Rich is there trying for a bodyslam. Rich gets Traylor up but it's too much weight and Traylor collapses on top of Wildfire Tommy Rich. 1.2. Rich kicks out. This young man seems to have Rich in a bad way.

Paul Ellering

Gordon, I'm going to be magnanimous as you know I can be and offer some of my expertise to this gentleman.

(Ellering heads to ringside and gets Traylor's attention and offers him some quick advice before rejoining Gordon.)

Gordon Solie

And what exactly did you say Mr.Ellering?

Paul Ellering

I just imparted some of my knowledge and observations, now let's see how quick a study he is.

Gordon Solie

Traylor has Rich for what looks like another slam, instead he rams him into the corner, dumps him to the mat and Rich is hurt. Traylor comes off the ropes and drops an elbow across the chest and sternum of Tommy Rich. Another cover gets 2.

Paul Ellering(chuckles and strokes his beard)

It seems all the fight that Rich supposedly has is gone.

Gordon Solie

I will agree Tommy is having quite the time with this man. And now Traylor is heading to the 2nd rope and comes off with a splash oh but Tommy Rich moves out of the way. And Rich grabs the big man up, whips him to the ropes and a fist to the mid-section doubles up Traylor. Rich with an elbow to the back of the head. Traylor pushes Rich into the ropes. Rich using the momentum of the ropes and nails Traylor with a big right, Tommy with a dropkick, Traylor off the ropes and Rich with a backdrop.

Rich to the 2nd turnbuckle, Traylor to his feet, Rich with an elbow to the top of the head. Rich whips Traylor to the ropes, Rich with a Thesz Press and 1.2.3. Wildfire Tommy Rich gets the win in a hard fought battle.

(Ellering walks off without saying a word/Ole Anderson rejoins Gordon)

Ole Anderson

It seems as if Ellering's expertise isn't worth as much as he thinks it is.

Gordon Solie

I will say this Tommy Rich did have his hands full with this young man and I would not be surprised to see him making a name for himself in the future. And I'm joined by Wild Bill Irwin.

Wild Bill Irwin

Mr.Solie if that was me in the ring, that kid would be hailing a cab right now to get out of Atlanta as fast as possible. It just shows you how soft and pathetic Rich is. Now you're out here talking about Marietta Georgia, Wild Bill Irwin is gonna be in Marietta and I gotta get in the ring with this Pistol Pez Whatley, Whatley you might be the Alabama Jr.heavyweight champion but let me point out two things to you son, one, this ain't Alabama and two I ain't no junior heavyweight. I am 6'3 270 pounds of mean and in Marietta you are going to find out just how mean. And then in the Omni Hacksaw Butch Reed, television champion. Reed I already beat Rich in the Omni and I don't see any reason that I should think the outcome is gonna be any different with you.

Gordon Solie

Mr.Irwin will find that both Pez Whatley and Hacksaw Reed will give him all that he can handle and then some. Now let's go to the ring as Wild Bill Irwin takes on Gary Royal. And Irwin immediately attacks Royal before the bell. Forearm smashes across the chest back Royal up to the corner. Irwin buries a knee into the mid-section. A snap-mare out of the corner and Irwin now putting the boots to Royal. Irwin with a leg-drop to Royal. Irwin pulls Royal up, tosses him to the ropes, Royal comes off with a cross body-block attempt. Irwin catches him and slams him down hard to the mat. Irwin off the ropes and a big knee drop across the chest. Irwin covers and a 2 count and Irwin pulls the man up. Irwin could have easily pinned the man but chose to dish out more punishment. Irwin as he said is a very mean individual with a sadistic streak. Irwin picks Royal up dropping him throat first across the top rope. Irwin again pulls Royal up and whips him to the ropes and a big kick to the face and that should be all they wrote for Mr. Royal. And Irwin gets the 1.2.3 and the win.

Gordon Solie

Mr. Wrestling II, you will be in the Omni as well taking on the National Heavyweight Champion the Russian Bear Ivan Koloff.

Mr.Wrestling II

Gordon, Koloff may not have the title in his possession but in the Omni when the Million-Dollar knee-lift connects I'll be more than willing to go collect the belt from Zbyszko for the NWA

Gordon Solie

And in Marietta you have a no disqualification match with Mr.Wrestling.

Mr.Wrestling II

No dq, no count outs and no way to stop me from ripping that mask off your face "Mr. Wrestling"!

Gordon Solie

And lets head to the ring as the National Television Champion Hacksaw Butch Reed is in the ring preparing for his match against rugged Rick Harris. Harris at 275 pounds is a big, strong, rugged individual not unlike Wild Bill Irwin so this should provide a good test for Butch Reed. And they tie up in collar and elbow lockup. Harris with a headlock. Reed showing that incredible power lifts Harris up and sets him on the top turnbuckle. Harris looking a little stunned climbs down and tentatively ties up again with Reed. Harris backs Hacksaw Butch Reed to the ropes. The ref calls for a break, oh but Harris looks to get a cheap shot in and is blocked by Reed who levels Harris with a fist of his own. Hacksaw Butch Reed is immensely strong and a physical specimen but is also a very quick and agile especially with those fists he calls “soup-bones”. Lockup again and this time Harris rakes the eyes to gain the advantage. Harris backs Reed into the corner and buries repeated shoulders into Reed trying to soften him up. A whip by Harris sends Reed to the opposite corner, Harris charges in but is met with a boot to the jaw. Reed to the 2nd rope comes off with a shoulder-tackle knocking Harris back. Reed with fists to the head of Harris. A whip to the ropes and a beautiful dropkick from the 260 pounder, Reed an outstanding athlete at the University of Central Missouri parlaying that into playing in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs. Reed picks Harris up whips him to the ropes, Reed lifts Harris up in a press slam holding him there before finally dumping him to the mat. Reed with a splash off the ropes and a cover gets the 1.2.3. And that is all for this week so long folks.

Mid South Wrestling(Week 1)

North American Heavyweight Champion-Dick Murdoch

Mid-South Tag Team Champions-Ted DiBiase/Matt Borne

Mid-South Television Champion-Tiger Conway Jr.

Louisiana State Heavyweight Champion-Mike George

Mid-South Pro Wrestling Television

Irish McNeil Boys Club, Shreveport ,LA.

Boyd Pierce

Welcome fans to Mid South Wrestling. Alot of great action and interviews coming up.

In this hour the Junkyard Dog sees action as does the Mid-South Tag Team Champions

Matt Borne and Ted DiBiase and for the Mid-South Television title Tiger Conway Jr. defends against Hacksaw Jim Duggan all this and much more coming up.

Ted DiBiase

Look at this the Mid-South Tag Team champions Matt Borne and myself Ted DiBiase. It must drive all you people watching nuts that we still hold these titles no matter who Mid-South throws at us. Murdoch,JYD, Olympia ,they even dragged that old man Wrestling II down here from Atlanta to try and beat us and still couldn't get the job done.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/wrestlingreview83/bornedibiase2_zpsr6vc7zs9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/wrestlingreview83/bornedibiase2_zpsr6vc7zs9.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo bornedibiase2_zpsr6vc7zs9.jpg"/></a>

Matt Borne

It doesn't matter who it is me and DiBiase are always gonna be the Mid-South Tag Team champions

Ted DiBiase

Hey Duggan, come in here and tell the people what you're going to do to Tiger Conway Jr.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Teddy I just want to congratulate you and Matt on still being tag team champions, there ain't a better team nowhere in wrestling. You want to know what I'm gonna do to Conway Jr.? I'm gonna beat him in the center of the ring and be the new Mid-South television champion guaranteed!

Ted DiBiase

You hear that Conway, that tick tock, it's the clock counting down the minutes til you become a former champion ha!

Boyd Pierce

Fans I'm joined by Cowboy Bill Watts for this match so lets go to the ring.

(Another One Bites the Dust plays bringing the crowd to their feet)

Boyd Pierce

And here comes the Junkyard Dog to face off against Tom Renesto Jr.

Cowboy Bill Watts

The JYD is so popular and so beloved by the fans here in Mid-South.

Boyd Pierce

The crowd clapping along to the music as JYD removes that chain from his neck.

Cowboy Bill Watts

There have been many exciting, popular wrestlers throughout the years but nothing I've ever seen comes close to the Junkyard Dog's connection with the fans especially the kids.

Renesto Jr. tried to jump JYD before the bell but it proved to be a big mistake. JYD fired away with rights to the head of Renesto, a pair of headbutts and the Big Thump powerslam were all it took for JYD to put Renesto Jr. away in rather quick fashion.

Cowboy Bill Watts

A quick and decisive win by JYD as the fans celebrate at ringside.

Boyd Pierce

When we return North American champion Dick Murdoch sees action

(Nikolai Volkoff stands singing the Soviet National Anthem. Krusher Kruschev holds the Soviet flag.)

Nikolai Volkoff

That is showing respect. Dick Murdoch has no respect, Junkyard Dog has no respect but we will teach it to them.

Krusher Kruschev

You are right comrade Volkoff. Over these last few months you have shown me how great the Soviet Union is. Broken through the lies and propaganda of America.

Nikolai Volkoff

You have learned well young comrade but this Captain Redneck and Junkyard Dog they will have to learn the hard way.

(Volkoff starts singing the Soviet National Anthem again as Kruschev stands at attention)

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/billboyd2_zpsqbd0xhvx.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/billboyd2_zpsqbd0xhvx.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo billboyd2_zpsqbd0xhvx.jpg"/></a>

Cowboy Bill Watts

Everytime I see Kruschev and hear the words coming from his mouth, his hatred for his heritage, for his

country and for everything it stands for it just sickens me beyond belief and I just pray that Dick Murdoch will eventually knock some sense into the kid.

Boyd Pierce

Let's go to the ring as Dick Murdoch

takes on Don Bass in a non title match

Bass's game plan was obvious and simple, to brawl with Murdoch. This proved to be a horrible idea.

Bass punched away, kicked and stomped, raked the eyes and back of the North American champion.

Enough was enough for Murdoch who took control and showed Bass how to dish out punishment.

Murdoch dropped Bass with a solid right to the jaw. Murdoch raked his boot laces across Bass's eyes,

dropped an elbow to the forehead, picked Bass up and dragged him face first across the top rope, a body

slam and then just to add insult to injury Murdoch proceeded to walk back and forth across Bass's stomach.

Boyd Pierce

Here are Nikolai Volkoff and Krusher Kruschev coming out to ringside.

Cowboy Bill Watts

They have no business being out here while Murdoch is having a match

Murdoch saw the Soviet powerhouse and the traitorous Kruschev at ringside grabbed Bass up and hit a Brainbuster to get the 3 count. Murdoch begged for Volkoff/Kruschev to get in the ring. Volkoff ordered Kruschev in who hesitated but climbed in the ring and went after Murdoch. Murdoch hammered away at the young turncoat.

Cowboy Bill Watts

Kruschev wants to turn his back on America then he's going to pay the price for it.

Murdoch tossed Kruschev from the ring but Volkoff came from the opposite side and nailed Murdoch with a knee to the back sending him into the ropes. Kruschev grabbed Murdoch from the outside and held him on the second rope. Volkoff got a running start and brought all 300 pounds on the back and neck of Dick Murdoch. JYD came from the back swinging his chain chasing the Russians off. Officials checked on Murdoch.

Cowboy Bill Watts

Boyd that could have been a far worse situation if the JYD hadn't come to the rescue.

Boyd Pierce

When we come back Ted DiBiase and Matt Borne see tag team action.

Mid-South Tag Team Champions Matt Borne/Ted DiBiase vs Ron Ellis/Tim Horner

Borne started off against Ellis with knees to the mid section, backing Ellis into the corner Borne tagged DiBiase who buried some shoulder blocks into Ellis . DiBiase with a snap mare began working over Ellis's leg. A tag to Borne who tried for a backdrop on Ellis but got caught with a Sunset Flip for 2. Ellis was able to make the tag to Horner who fired off a series of dropkicks at Borne and DiBiase. Horner whipped Borne to the ropes, Borne reversed it. Horner came off the ropes with a Thesz Press, Borne held on to Horner, stumbled back where DiBiase waited grabbed Horner by head and together Borne and DiBiase brought young Tim Horner's neck down across the top rope. Borne tagged in DiBiase who picked Horner up, whipped him to the ropes and hit a picture perfect Pivot Powerslam to get the 3 count.

Boyd Pierce

DiBiase and Borne with another win.

Cowboy Bill Watts

You may not like the way they do things or what they say but they keep winning.

Ted DiBiase

I told you Boyd Pierce, and you Bill Watts and all these idiots at ringside and watching at home. Nobody beats the Rat Pack, nobody!

Boyd Pierce

When we come back Hacksaw Jim Duggan takes on the Mid South Television Champion Tiger Conway Jr.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/tigerconway2_zpsqbdxiob9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/tigerconway2_zpsqbdxiob9.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo tigerconway2_zpsqbdxiob9.jpg"/></a>

(Mid South Television Champion Tiger Conway Jr.)

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/duggan2_zpssxbgklkh.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/duggan2_zpssxbgklkh.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo duggan2_zpssxbgklkh.jpg"/></a>

(Hacksaw Jim Duggan-Challenger)

Boyd Pierce

This should be a very good matchup for the Mid-South Television title

Cowboy Bill Watts

Duggan thinks he's just going to roll right over Tiger Conway Jr. but Conway Jr. is always up for a fight. Duggan's a big man but Conway is as scrappy as they come and can be a down and dirty street fighter when he has to.

Boyd Pierce

Hacksaw Duggan my be in for a surprise.

Conway and Duggan lock up. Duggan trying to use his size to push Conway around backs him into the ropes. Duggan takes a wild swing but Conway uses his speed to avoid it ducking out of the way.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/dugganconway_zpsqpednkov.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/dugganconway_zpsqpednkov.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo dugganconway_zpsqpednkov.jpg"/></a>

Conway's fist up ready go at. Duggan takes a minute before locking up again. Duggan bulls Conway to the corner and lays some heavy forearm shots on Conway. Tiger Conway Jr. showing what kind of individual he is lays some chops to Duggan's chest. Duggan with a boot to the gut, Conway still fires away. Duggan with a poke to the eyes slows Conway down. Duggan with an Irish whip to the corner. Duggan with a big hip toss out of the corner. Duggan picks Conway up and slams him down hard on the mat. Duggan with a rear chinlock on Conway. Conway slips out and takes Duggan's arm behind him. Duggan steps through the ropes causing a break. Duggan nails Conway with a big right that staggers him. Another right and Conway is on rubbery legs. Duggan rams Conway's head into the turnbuckle, Conway fires backs with chops to the chest of Duggan who begins backpedaling. Conway Jr.whips Duggan to the ropes. A backdrop on Duggan, a cover by Conway gets 2, Duggan powers out. Duggan picks Conway up for what looks like another bodyslam, Conway's feet catch the referee knocking him down, Duggan drops Conway on top of the referee. Duggan grabs Conway off the dazed ref and throws him out over the top rope.

Cowboy Bill Watts

That is clearly a disqualification in Mid-South Wrestling!

Conway lands on his feet slides back in the ring grabs Duggan in a side headlock. Duggan throws Conway Jr. off into the dazed referee who had just gotten back to his feet knocking him through the ropes to the floor. Duggan down in a 3 point stance looking to nail Tiger Conway Jr. with the Spear. And Duggan hits Conway with the Spear and goes for the pin. The referee rolls back in the ring and calls for the bell. Duggan is up believing he won the Television title but the referee says no that Tiger Conway Jr. retains by disqualification for Duggan throwing him over the top rope.

Post-Match

Duggan begins beating down Tiger Conway Jr. but Conway fights back and hits a dropkick that sends the big Hacksaw Duggan through the ropes and to the floor. Duggan thinks better of getting back in the ring.

Boyd Pierce

And this ends another exciting hour of Mid-South Pro Wrestling. For Cowboy Bill Watts see you next time.

All Star Wrestling

Minneapolis,MN.

WTCN Studios

(Promos Mid-West/Canada Syndicated)

Light Heavyweight Champion Buck Zumhofe defeated Rooster Griffin with a 2nd Rope Splash

Gene Okerlund

Ladies and gentlemen the wrestling world is still reeling from the announcement that the Incredible Hulk Hogan has quit the AWA. Stanley Blackburn AWA president, the shock waves of Hulk Hogan's announcement came as a surprise to myself, the fans and I'm sure to you and the rest of the AWA officials.

Stanley Blackburn

Gene, Hogan feels as though he should be world champion right now, that there has been some sort of conspiracy against him but I can assure you and all the fans. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Rules are rules and Hogan just like every other wrestler in the AWA is expected to abide by them. Hogan used brass knuckles on Bockwinkel in Las Vegas. The referee may not have saw what happened being occupied with Bobby Heenan but as president of the AWA sitting at ringside I had a duty to do which is to enforce the rules.

Gene Okerlund

Stanley Blackburn, Hulk Hogan did use brass knuckles that Nick Bockwinkel had pulled from his trunks and prepared to use on Hogan.

Stanley Blackburn

That is true but Hogan is the one who actually used them on Bockwinkel therefore according to the rules he should have been disqualified. This is why the title was returned to Nick Bockwinkel. I know it may not set well with the fans or with Hogan but that was the only option.

Gene Okerlund

President Blackburn what of all the times Bockwinkel and Heenan have kept the title through various nefarious means?

Stanley Blackburn

I'm well aware of the many, many, many times Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan bent and broke the rules to keep the AWA title and as much as everyone may not like it the title cannot change hands on a dq or countout.

Gene Okerlund

So what your saying is if Bockwinkel cheats he wins and if his opponent cheats Bockwinkel still wins?

I think maybe the AWA Championship committee needs to re think the rule book.

Stanley Blackburn

If someone could get Bockwinkel to wave these rules for the title it would go a long way to evening the playing field.

Gene Okerlund

Tag team action up next.

World Tag Team Champions The High Flyers(Greg Gagne/Jumpin Jim Brunzell) defeated

Tom Rocky Stone/Tony Leone in a non title 2 out of 3 falls match taking 2 falls in a row.

Brunzell pined Leone with a dropkick for the first fall. Gagne used the Gagne sleeper on Stone to take the second fall.

Gene Okerlund

I'm joined by the AWA World Champion Nick Bockwinkel who many said was living on borrowed time. That Hulk Hogan is the uncrowned peoples champion, that you sir have led a charmed life.

Nick Bockwinkel

You can call it luck, a charmed life or any other euphemism but the fact of the matter is I took everything that Hogan could throw at me including using brass knuckles and I still walked out of the Showboat the champion..

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/wrestlingreview83/eae0a7bb-d2e7-492b-b347-55a716f723c2_zpsefzqd7oh.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/wrestlingreview83/eae0a7bb-d2e7-492b-b347-55a716f723c2_zpsefzqd7oh.png" border="0" alt=" photo eae0a7bb-d2e7-492b-b347-55a716f723c2_zpsefzqd7oh.png"/></a>

(Nick Bockwinkel)

Gene Okerlund

Speaking of those brass knuckles you are the one who pulled them from your tights to use on Hulk Hogan.

Nick Bockwinkel

Stanley Blackburn, I will pay you a rare compliment. In Las Vegas you showed a great amount of fortitude and moxy by handing the title back to the rightful owner, myself. Now I will not be as cordial and tell you in no uncertain terms that there is no way on God's green earth will I ever step foot in the ring to defend this title in some unbridled, uncivilized no holds barred, no disqualification, no count out match. Not against Hogan, Martel, Brunzell, Blackwell or anyone else! If the challengers the AWA Championship committee chooses can not defeat me within the boundaries of the AWA rules then perhaps these so called challengers should be like Hogan and consider another line of employment.

Gene Okerlund

The fact remains…

Nick Bockwinkel

Everyone thinks because Hogan is 6'9 330 pounds of solid muscle, that because the fans cheer him like no other he should be champion but wrestling isn't just about the body, the physical prowess or how much the fans chant your name, it is a sport of the mind which is where I excel. Hogan thought he won the battle but I won the war. Hogan quit, ran off to Venice Beach to cry over his barbells and the fact remains that here I stand still the champion.

Gene Okerlund

Fans when we come back more exciting AWA action.

<a href="http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/chrismc048/media/wrestlingreview83/dabaron1_zpst6ervtbm.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah290/chrismc048/wrestlingreview83/dabaron1_zpst6ervtbm.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo dabaron1_zpst6ervtbm.jpg"/></a>

Baron Von Raschke defeated Nacho Berrera with the Claw

Gene Okerlund

(The High Flyers Greg Gagne/Jim Brunzell)

Greg Gagne

You're right Gene, Saito is an international superstar known the world over, he can hurt you in so many ways. And Schultz is just a big, mean, vicious guy out to hurt somebody.

Gene Okerlund

It is quite the unusual pairing between these 2 men who literally are worlds apart but have come together to try and take you titles.

Jim Brunzell

Saito and Schultz may be different but they both have one thing in common and that is they like to hurt people. I'd be lying if I said Greg and I are not taking these 2 men very seriously but we've fought rough and tough teams before and always managed to get our hands raised.

Gene Okerlund

I have to ask, you've heard the news as it's been the buzz of the lockerroom about Hulk Hogan quitting the AWA your thoughts on this?

Greg Gagne

Well Gene we were in Las Vegas and like everyone else we thought for sure that Hogan had beaten Bockwinkel and won the title but as Stanley Blackburn said there are rules.

Jim Brunzell

I think it's disappointing to the fans that it's come to this but I'm sure the disappoint Hulk Hogan feels in letting down the fans is far greater.

Gene Okerlund

Thank you gentlemen. More when we come back.

Gene Okerlund

Let me bring out Dr. D David Schultz. And you and Mr. Saito get a chance at the AWA tag team titles.

David Schultz

Shut up Gene and let the doctor talk. I heard them little sissy boys Gagne and Brunzell out here talking about taking on tough teams but I'm gonna tell you what. There are tough teams and then there is Mr.Saito and Doctor D. Mr.Saito is a master of martial arts, he can hurt you in 50 different ways with just his thumb and me I got me a PH.D.

Gene Okerlund(looking somewhat surprised)

Really you're a college man, Harvard, Yale?

David Schultz

Nah none of that pansy stuff, I got my PH.D in pain, beating people up just for fun, breaking their noses and snapping their fingers just because I can. So you bring all those cute little rasslin' moves you got cuz you gonna need them.

Gene Okerlund

Let me ask you about the Incredible Hulk Hogan quitting the AWA.

David Schultz

You want to talk to me about Hulk Hogan? Who cares, he's lucky he quit before I got around to him or they would of carried him out in a body bag. Talk about Hulk Hogan...son did you lose your mind along with all that hair from the top of your head?

Gene Okerlund

Well it is genetic.

David Schultz

What? Being bald, being stupid or both?

Gene Okerlund

I think we've had quite enough of this. Until next time fans.
