Dawn of WMMA [HYPE/BETA]

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody! I made a mod that simply pushes the default database back in time to 1989. So you literally start right when guys like James Foster and Sean Morrison are making their debuts.

The starting company is World Vale Tudo Council based in South America.

Personally I am going to play it as all of the companies as they start to debut but how you play is obviously your choice.

This mod will really allow people to create the WMMA game that they want because your starting all the way at the beginning.

The only thing that really needs a lot of work is fighter bios. I haven't erased or edited them at all so right now they are completely irrelevant.

If anyone wants to help edit some stuff or just try playing it let me know and I will send you a copy.

Also, if anyone has any biography suggestions or general suggestions/things that need fixed feel free to post that here!

Only suggestion would be to consider a name change. Dawn of MMA is the name of a notable real world mod from a previous release that's been made available to the community; I'm planning on converting it and posting it eventually if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I played Dawn of MMA on WMMA2 I believe. I loved playing that. I would love an updated version. My friend and I are wanting to try out the multi-player so we're waiting for Modern Warriors to get the full release. I just downloaded what you have so far. I'm going to use that to learn this version of the game better.

Dawn of MMA would be interesting in multiplayer.

Sorry friend, this isn't a Dawn of MMA conversion. Its a version of the default database pushed back to 1989. Sorry for the confusion, I tried changing the thread title but couldn't find a way to do so

<p>The creator of the thread can do it (change the title of thread) by double clicking just to the right of the thread title on the main page then renaming. Something I learnt by accident once.</p><p> </p><p>

Edit : now it's not working <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> (maybe works with recently created threads - I just tried it on an old one of mine)</p>

Start a game and see if it starts in 1989. Im 99% sure you got the right one.</p>

Im only emailing the data but yes if you PM me I will send you a copy of the data. No one gave input so its just the way I used it.

Computica, the game begins in 1989 and essentially allows you to start the default databases entire history from scratch.

EDIT: I liked playing this way because I love stats and looking over fighter histories etc. This give you a better sense of all of that cause its complete and fully fleshed out. As opposed to started a game 10 years into the universe where some guys have some of their title histories/stats while others have none at all.

<p>I always try and get the default database for WMMA working just like this. Any reason you can't upload the file for download somewhere like other mods? Such as mediafire, etc. Would be greatly appreciated so we could see how it plays out without having to contact you through PM and then outside the board on e-mail.</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks for all your hard work! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

You never know if they encountered someone before the game start. For the women I always assumed they beat nobodies, as few people have actual losses. Paulson has one, and it FREAKS me out given she always turns into a top P4P phenom. Who beat her? WHO? [who?who?who? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />] It shouldn't be a problem for most people, but for me it kinda is. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Actually, if this mod works well, would it interest someone to use it to create a default database that has fully fleshed out fighter histories? I would totally over that and back in the game if that were the case. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> With "fleshed out", I only mean that every loss is catalogued. The other wins would obviously be against local opponents and don't need any context. All you'd have to do is play it out and see what could happen. It would take...quite a while to write though. How many losses would be in the vanilla db? 150-200?</p><p> </p><p> I never got why Adam didn't include it. Was it too much work? Does he leave it to the imagination of the player? Does it hurt players, knowing that what happened in your games didn't 'officially' happen in the history? For now, WMMA has never 'progressed' like TEW, so that might continue for all I know.</p>

I honestly just haven't had the interest in the past that made it worth posting to media fire (plus i have no idea how to do so anyway). Although in the past 2-3 weeks Ive been contacted by a lot of people so if lots of people are playing and start to give feedback then Id be more than happy to do frequent updates/make changes and have a link that everyone can install it from.

Im actually even more picky than you Blackman. Personally, the lack of fully fleshed out title history and record history (local fights I don't care) but who fighters have won and lost against within the major promotions is essential in my opinion. Without it I just clear record histories altogether and pretend none of the current guys have ever fought in the default database.

Ive had a lot of fun starting fresh with this mod though. You can really take the world in whatever direction you want to.
