Casey, Cam and Davis met me in the living room with pizza as the centerpiece sitting on my coffee table for our business meeting on the 5th of April. We spoke about Insurgency for a while; commenting on its high and low points. I again commended Casey and Cameron for their performances in the show and how they were quickly getting themselves over as the top heels in the company. I then took the liberty of explaining why I went ahead and brought KC Glenn in after previously deciding not to with his price so high. After our first two months of sponsorship money led us to turn profits, albeit small profits, I felt the pay off for bringing KC in would be well worth the expenditure. Even with Glenn’s added salary on the wage bill for March, we still managed to turn a profit. They all seemed okay with the explanation and I was glad that they were, because I did bring Glenn in without discussing it with them first. We transitioned into talk about the progress of our two major storylines. The program that was centered around the belt was advancing smoothly and we had more solid plans in place for the following event. Our secondary, and only other storyline at the moment, featuring Greg Gauge and Ernest Youngman had gotten off to a very slow start at Insurgency. We spoke about ways to advance their program a little deeper and settled on a few ideas that we’d continue to kick around. That lead me to introduce an idea I had for our June event. I explained the idea and was honest about how it may affect us financially. If we went through with my idea, we would probably have to get some talent on short term deals to come in for the show and that could get costly. I also mentioned the idea of talent trades and we spoke briefly on that. All three of them seemed to be on board with the idea and we moved on to our next point. We next had to decide on a name for our April event. We all threw ideas in the air and finally settled on Insanity Plea. Finally it was time to present them with our end of the month report.

MCW Announces Tournament

MCW management are excited to announce details for their June event, dubbed the Road to Glory. Officials announced that the event will feature an eight man single elimination tournament consisting of the best talent the independent wrestling scene has to offer. The eight men that are fortunate enough to gain entry into the tournament will not only be fighting for bragging rights. A place in the main event of Revolution, the promotion’s September event, will be on the line. The winner of the tournament will secure a shot at the MCW Heavyweight Title in the main event of what sources have dubbed MCW’s Super Bowl, Revolution.

With prestigious tournaments such as the Rip Chord Invitational, the Ed Henson Memorial Tag Team Cup and the Sam Keith Classic on the North American wrestling scene already, MCW officials have stated they hope the Road to Glory will become one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year. Officials had not released any participants at press time, but a source says that “MCW is willing to bring in talent from elsewhere in the American Wrestling scene to help elevate the tournament to extreme success.” In the events leading up to the tournament, all MCW and outside wrestling talent will be evaluated to provide the best possible experience for the fan base of MCW.

Check back for more news concerning the tournament and its participants.

Midwest Championship Wrestling presents Insanity Plea*

From the Moose Lodge in Colfax, Iowa

April 28th, 2014

Last month at Insurgency, KC Glenn made his shock MCW debut to team up with Aaron Andrews in a tag team contest against Cameron Vessey and the reigning Heavyweight Champion Casey Valentine. Andrews and Glenn fell just short of victory in that contest. This month, they get their chances at retribution in two singles matches. Casey Valentine will defend his MCW Heavyweight Title for the first time against the newcomer in KC Glenn. On the flip side to that match, Aaron Andrews will square off one on one with Cameron Vessey in a rematch from Dawnings. Will KC Glenn be able to dethrone Casey Valentine at the first turn? Can Aaron Andrews be a speed bump in the momentum of C-V-2’s Youth Movement? Or will Casey Valentine and Cameron Vessey continue on their path to change the face of wrestling? Find out at Insanity Plea!

OOC:Thanks to all those who have predicted thus far! The show will most likely go up sometime tomorrow, late morning to early afternoon, so there is still time to get predictions in. I did want to note that the stuff I am currently working on, roughly three months game time ahead of the current posts will have much shorter match summaries, making it easier to read for people with less time. I'm also working on a few out of the ring pieces to help develop the friendship and dynamics between the four main characters away from the business. Thank you to all those who are watching this little story of mine, that view count climbs every time I post something, and it means a lot to me!

Another show was upon us. I meandered out to the seating area when the doors opened and really hoped to find the doors bursting at the seams. Deep down I knew this wouldn't be the case, but it wasn't until I saw one or two fans making their way in ten minutes apart of each other that I realized it. I did a quick head count at five minutes to seven and counted fifteen paid spectators. It was a disappointment, but I hoped that hundreds of people would be logging on to our website to watch the show streaming live.

Midwest Championship Wrestling presents Insanity Plea

From the Moose Lodge in Colfax, Iowa

April 28th, 2014

Attendance: 15

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Davis%20Ditterich.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Duke%20Hazzard.jpg

“Welcome to the Show”

Featuring: Davis Ditterich and Duke Hazzard

The show opens to Davis Ditterich and Duke Hazard, the MCW announce team, standing in the center of the ring. Davis bears his usual suit and tie while Duke is clad in his blue jeans, flannel and cowboy hat.

Davis: Welcome fans to Insanity Plea presented by Midwest Championship Wrestling! There is a lot in store tonight including two huge matches stemming from the tag team match that took place in our main event last month!

Duke: C-V-2 have started to assert their dominance here in MCW, but tonight they will be divided in singles matches. Cameron Vessey takes on Aaron Andrews and Casey Valentine will defend his MCW Heavyweight Title against KC Glenn.

Davis: And we will hear from C-V-2 prior to their matches! But let’s get right into our opening contest!

The announce team exit the ring as Ernest Youngman’s entrance music begins playing.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/36.jpg

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Ernest%20Youngman.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/vs.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Greg%20Gauge.jpg

Ernest Youngman vs. Greg Gauge

The opening contest started slow, with a bit of a feeling out process. After their participation in the triple threat match the previous month, they soon pick up the pace into a very technical exchange between the two. They both show their technical prowess inside the ring throughout the contest. Each time Youngman is able to escape a hold, he extends his hand to Gauge, but Greg shakes his head and refuses to shake. Both men get progressively more frustrated as the match moves forward, neither able to hold an advantage for long. Both men finally lose it and the technical display disappears, transforming into a hard hitting brawl. The pace quickens, but still nobody gains a clear advantage. The two exchange a number of blow in the center of the ring before Greg Gauge is able to hit a vicious half nelson suplex that drops Ernest right on his head. Youngman gets the fighting spirit and immediately springs to his feet, nearly decapitating Gauge with a lariat. Both men lay on the ground motionless as the time limit expires.

Winner: Time Limit Draw

Time: 15:00

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/50.jpg

Davis: What a contest that was! Neither man comes out victorious with that draw!

Duke: Both men should be proud of their abilities after a match like that!

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Ernest%20Youngman.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Greg%20Gauge

“A Gesture”

Featuring: Ernest Youngman and Greg Gauge

Ernest and Greg begin to climb to their feet and realize that the match has drawn to a close with no clear victor. They support themselves in the corners across the ring from each other, their gazes not leaving one another. Youngman holds his head and nods in Gauge’s direction before slowly making his way across the ring. Gauge remains stationary, eyes still locked on his opponent. As Youngman nears, he extends his hand to Greg much the same way he did the month prior. Gauge looks around at the fans, which applaud the wrestlers’ efforts. Youngman looks around and mouths a few words to Gauge. Greg looks at Youngman’s extended hand for a split second before shaking his head and pushing past Ernest and exiting the ring.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/12.jpg

Davis: That was another show of disrespect to Ernest Youngman!

Duke: It’s clear that Greg Gauge thinks he is above Youngman and is not giving him the respect he deserves!

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Syd%20Collier.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/vs.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Davis%20Wayne%20Newton.jpg

Syd Collier vs. Davis Wayne Newton

This bout was to be a bit of a hurdle for Davis Wayne Newton as he faced off against one of MCW’s bigger names. Collier brought all he had learned from Rip Chord to MCW and showed it off here. Collier was able to take control of the match early and was only put back against a wall once or twice following some underhanded tactics from Newton. Davis bent the rules as much as he could, almost gaining victory with his feet on the ropes before Erin Lawrence saw the illegal move and stopped the count. Collier came back and was able to get the submission victory with a Texas Cloverleaf.

Winner: Syd Collier

Time: 8:43

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/43.jpg

Davis: Well, Newton tried his darndest to win that one, but Collier overcame his cheating to capture the victory.

Duke: Remember what they say, if you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.

“Have We Proved It Yet?”

Featuring: Casey Valentine, Cameron Vessey, KC Glenn and Aaron Andrews

The crowd boos as the entrance music of Casey Valentine hits the system. After a few moments Casey Valentine, with the MCW Heavyweight Title draped over his shoulder, and Cameron Vessey push through the curtain and make their way to the ring. They receive microphones before entering the squared circle and play to the crowd for a moment before speaking.

Valentine: You people just don’t get it, do you? We proved again last month that we are the dominant force in MCW and are well on our way to bringing our youth movement to the rest of the wrestling world. Soon, youths all across the nation and around the globe will understand what our purpose is and are going to start to rebel against the veterans that are clinging to their spots. Sooner or later, those old has-beens have to accept the fact that their place is at the bottom of the card or sitting at home and that time is NOW! Later tonight I have to defend my title against KC Glenn and I will prove to you all again that I am the best this business has to offer when Glenn becomes just another stepping stone.

Vessey: And I have to take on Aaron Andrews who, if memory serves me correctly, lost to my partner in the middle of this ring last month. He too will become just another stair in our climb to the top. All of you see Aaron Andrews as better than us because he is a former TCW star, but I’m here to tell you that he is nothing. That’s why ne was never at the top of TCW. If it had been Casey or I in his shoes, our movement would be the dominant force in the entire world of professional wrestling!

Vessey turns towards Valentine and nods, expressing their confidence in each other.

Valentine: You’re damn right you’re going to beat that mindless, terrible excuse of a wrestler tonight Cam. Last month he came out here and said he wasn’t worried about getting another fair shot at my title because he’d earn it himself. Well I’m here, confident that Cameron is going to beat him tonight, and I’ll give him his opportunity. If Aaron Andrews can get past Cameron here tonight, after I retain my title against KC Glenn, I will put the belt up against him next month!

Vessey: You won’t be defending that title next month because Andrews’ abilities are nothing to compete with the youth movement that we have created. Tonight, if we haven’t proved our point already, we will tonight!

With that, C-V-2 drop their microphones and play to the boos of the crowd once more before exiting the ring and retreating to the back.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/52.jpg

Davis: How about that? If Aaron Andrews can defeat Cameron Vessey tonight, Casey Valentine is going to defend his title against Andrews next month!

Duke: I think this youth movement is in store for its greatest battle yet!

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Nigel%20Svensson.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/vs.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Jamie%20Atherton.jpg

Nigel Svensson vs. Jamie Atherton

Svensson and Atherton stepped across the ring from each other here and the action was good. Atherton came out of the gate hot, getting a couple minutes of offense in against the bearded technician. He was quickly outmatched when he got arrogant and took the match to the ground. Nigel was able to gain the advantage when in his element and began working over Atherton’s arm. The arm was weak enough when Svensson locked in a Hyper Extension Arm Lock that Atherton quickly tapped out to avoid injury.

Winner: Nigel Svensson

Time: 6:54

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/37.jpg

Davis: Arrogance lost that match for Jamie Atherton!

Duke: He wanted to upstage Svensson on the mat, but Nigel is just too good down there for it to have worked!

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Kenny%20Kuntz.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/vs.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Bradley%20Wright.jpg

“K-Squared” Kenny Kuntz vs. “The Architect” Bradley Wright

Kenny Kuntz came into the match with full intention of upsetting Bradley Wright. Bradley seemed to underestimate Kuntz from the start of the match and found himself on the ropes for the opening few minutes. Kuntz was able to hit a series of rapid fire offense and a small package that almost caught “The Architect” napping. After escaping that pin attempt, Bradley Wright got his head in the game and began working Kuntz over. When Wright saw his opportunity, he locked in the Blue Print and Kenny submitted quickly.

Winner: Bradley Wright

Time: 7:22

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/39.jpg

Davis: Wright almost handed the match to Kenny Kuntz by way of a non-serious approach!

Duke: He smartened up though and picks up the victory.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Aaron%20Andrews.jpg

“Victory”

Featuring: Aaron Andrews

The fans cheer as Aaron Andrews’ music plays, signaling his entrance. After a few seconds of music, he pushes through the curtain and makes his way to ringside. He snatches a microphone from ringside and enters the ring as his music fades.

Andrews: For three months now, we’ve seen or heard about this so-called youth movement from Casey Valentine and Cameron Vessey. They seem to forget that I’m only in my late twenties and could be considered the youth of this business. Their youth movement is nothing more than greed and arrogance on their part. Every young guy in this business wants to change the face of professional wrestling with their performances inside this ring. Cameron and Casey just want to be at the top to get out of the shadows of their kin that came before them! I am not going to be another stepping stone in their journey. Tonight I will be the roadblock that halts their momentum when I defeat Cameron Vessey and earn a shot at Valentine’s title!

The crowd cheers Andrews’ speech as he tosses the microphone to ringside and awaits his opponent.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/50.jpg

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Aaron%20Andrews.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/vs.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Cameron%20Vessey.jpg

Aaron Andrews vs. Cameron Vessey

It was evident that Andrews’ comments had upset Cameron Vessey when the match began. Vessey skipped the pleasantries and went straight for the throat of Aaron Andrews. The opening minutes showed a complete mean streak inside of Cam as he was laying some brutal strikes on his opponent. Andrews never gave up, occasionally answering back with shots of his own. Vessey held control for the opening ten minutes of the bout, much to the displeasure of the fans. Andrews never fully lost his footing, fighting back when he saw his opportunities. As they neared fifteen minutes, Andrews was able to escape a pinfall attempt and made his journey back to the offensive as he laid a few hard strikes on Vessey. The match developed into a brawl filled with forearms, lariats, dangerous impact moves and even headbutts. Vessey looked to have the match won when he hoisted Andrews up for a Vessey Driver, but Aaron wiggled free and planted Vessey on his head with the Ace Driver to pick up the pinfall and earn his shot at the Heavyweight Title.

Winner: Aaron Andrews

Time: 21:46

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/58.jpg

Davis: Andrews wins! Aaron Andrews overcomes Cameron Vessey and will get his shot at Casey Valentine and the MCW Heavyweight Title next month!

Duke: If Valentine is still the champion!

MCW Heavyweight Title

KC Glenn vs. Casey Valentine ©

Upset over the outcome of his partner’s match, Casey Valentine opened his first title defense with the same mean streak that had come over Cameron Vessey. Valentine’s head, clouded by anger, was too eager to act instead of think. Glenn was able to avoid the sheer brutality that the champion was looking to enact. Glenn took control of the match, only stopped by a few shots of offense from the champion here and there. Glenn got a few believable near falls in the opening fifteen minutes, but found himself on the receiving end of a devastating desperation lariat from the champion that left both men down. When they came back together in the center of the ring, Valentine took control of the bout. Glenn tried to mount the offense that had brought him success in the opening stages of the match, but Valentine was fired up and had an answer for everything his opponent tried. Valentine controlled the next ten minutes of the match, working over Glenn’s head and neck. As they crossed the twenty minute mark, Valentine went for the Deep Impact, but Glenn was able to wiggle free. When Valentine turned around KC met him with a superkick that put moth men down once again. Erin Lawrence began her ten count, but both men got to their feet at eight. They come together in the center of the ring, trading strikes. KC Glenn reaches deep down and finds the last bit of strength inside of him to nail a roaring lariat for a believable near fall. Glenn could feel the match swinging in his favor as he launched the champion into the ropes. Glenn caught Valentine and began swinging him around to slam him down with his Tune Up The Sunshine Band finisher, but Casey was able to break free. When Glenn turned back, Valentine rolled him up into a small package and grabbed a handful of tights. Erin Lawrence was oblivious to the underhanded tactics as she counted the pinfall and awarded the match to Casey Valentine.

Winner: Casey Valentine retains the MCW Heavyweight Title (1)

Time: 24:28

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/67.jpg

Davis: Valentine uses a handful of tights to secure his title tonight! Referee Erin Lawrence missed Valentine grabbing a handful of tights!

Duke: Lawrence’s officiating is normally top notch, but the lady missed that one!

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Casey%20Valentine.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/KC%20Glenn.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Aaron%20Andrews.jpg

“Thwarted”

Featuring: Casey Valentine, KC Glenn and Aaron Andrews

After the match has concluded, Erin Lawrence hands Casey Valentine his title belt as both men begin to recover. Valentine is up before Glenn is and begins eyeballing him from across the ring. Just as Glenn gets his footing, Casey rushes across the ring and takes him down. Glenn lays on the mat once again, receiving boot after boot from the champion. Suddenly, the crowd’s boos change to cheers as Aaron Andrews rushes down the entrance way. Valentine sees him out of the corner of his eye and bails out of the ring as Andrews slides in on the opposite side of the ring. Valentine makes his way around the ring while Aaron checks on his friend. Once Glenn assures him that he is okay, Aaron turns towards Valentine and makes a motion of a title belt around his waist. The show draws to a close with Valentine and Andrews locked in a stare down.

Davis: You can cut the tension with a knife! That’s all the time we have folks! For Duke Hazzard, I’m Davis Ditterich. Join us next month as Casey Valentine defends his title against Aaron Andrews! Good night!

Cameron, Casey, Davis and I met on May 5th for our monthly business meeting. We added a new opening to our meetings this month as well. We played back our last show and critiqued everything from the editing to the matches themselves. We thought it would give us a good opportunity as fans to see what could make our productions better. After making notes that we’d tweak for our May show, we moved onto the creative side of our meeting. Our main event feud was progressing nicely and garnering some decent heat. It was no question that we had been building to a rematch between Casey and I, but we were still kicking around how we’d go about progressing things. Cameron offered up an idea for the story that we discussed at length and finally settled on the solid direction we were heading. We then discussed some names for our first, and what we hoped would be annual tournament. I presented a list of names that I would really like to see in the tournament, as did the others. We settled on a ranked list of names that I’d be calling to gauge interest. I also went against my better judgment and offered to cover the wages myself if they turned out to be too expensive for the MCW bank account. My hope was to bring one or two of these names in for our May show, which we had named Something to Prove. We finally transitioned to the end of the month report to close out our informal meeting.

Notable News from the Wrestling Industry

- Justice Jolson debuted this month. He is the next in the long line of body builders who have come to wrestling as a way to capitalize on their size. He has a good understanding of the basics, but has some developing to do.

- Raymond Diaz suffered nerve damage in his neck in a match on PGHW’s current tour. The doctors told him to take time off for the injury to heal, but it appears that he wanted to finish out the month and maybe the tour.

- California Kid ruptured his spleen after taking an awkward landing on the guardrail at an SOTBPW show. He’ll be out of action for about a month.

Six Road to Glory Entrants Confirmed

Upper management in MCW is hard at work trying to finalize the field for the Road to Glory tournament scheduled for June 28th. Officials have released partial details concerning the field and are excited on their progress so far. Two regular MCW competitors have been confirmed for the tournament. KC Glenn and Cameron Vessey are the first two confirmed entrants and both look to make their way through the line of competition to gain a shot at MCW gold.

It has also been confirmed that MCW has reached out to some of the best wrestlers on the independent circuit for the tournament. Short term deals have been made to bring these individuals into MCW for the Road to Glory. Four of these men have been confirmed for MCW’s May show, Something to Prove, scheduled to take place on May 28th. A match with huge tournament and title implications has been signed for the event. Four of the “outsiders” will step into the ring in a four corner survival match. The winner of the contest will go on to challenge for the MCW Heavyweight Title at the Road to Glory event in non-tournament action. The other three men will enter the tournament and have to progress through three matches to gain their shot. MCW is happy to announce those men.<bR></td></tr>

From the Moose Lodge in Colfax, Iowa

May 28th, 2014

Just one month before the Road to Glory, MCW comes back to the Moose Lodge in Colfax, Iowa with a couple of huge matches. Steve Flash, Steven Parker, Frankie Perez and Mainstream Hernandez will face off in what has been dubbed a Four Corner Survival match with the winner receiving a shot at the MCW Heavyweight Title at the Road to Glory. Ernest Youngman vs. “The Architect” Bradley Wright

The opening contest was a decent one. Ernest Youngman fell victim to a finger to the eye from Wright early on and was battling back the entire contest. Wright took things to the mat, where he was able to begin wearing Youngman down. Youngman was better off on the mat and used his size advantage to battle back. Youngman took control and was able to land The Hit to pick up the pinfall victory.

Winner: Ernest Youngman

Time: 15:20

Duke: A good victory for Ernest Youngman there!

Davis: It sure was Duke! It impressed some important people, or at least that’s what this text message says. Excuse me one second.

“Announcement #1”

Featuring: Davis Ditterich and Ernest Youngman

Bradley Wright has begun walking back up the aisle when Davis Ditterich stands from the announce table and looks to Ernest Youngman who is having his hand raised in the ring.

Davis: Excuse me for one second. Ernest, I just received a text message from some very important people. They had a message that they wanted me to pass along. Your recent string of performances, as well as the victory you just picked up, has earned you a spot in the Road to Glory next month! Congratulations and good luck.

Ernest thanks Davis and hops out of the ring to shake his hand before retreating to the back.

Morgan Malone vs. Cameron Vessey

This was nothing more than Cameron Vessey playing in the sandbox. Morgan Malone tried his best to get in some offense at the start of the match, but Vessey quickly quelled his attempts and dominated the match. Vessey toyed with Malone initially, but finally nailed the Vessey Driver II for the victory.

Winner: Cameron Vessey

Time: 3:02

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/42.jpg

Davis: Thank goodness that is over! I was afraid that Vessey was going to hurt Morgan there.

Duke: Vessey was just dragging that out.

“How Do You Like It?”

Featuring: Cameron Vessey and Aaron Andrews

As Cameron Vessey stands over Morgan Malone, over-celebrating his victory, the crowd erupts into a round of cheers as Aaron Andrews rushes through the crowd and over the barricade. He slides in behind Cameron Vessey and catches him from behind, planting him with the Ace Driver. Andrews is fired up as he stands over Cameron and gets right into his face, talking trash.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/50.jpg

Davis: Aaron Andrews is looking to get even there!

Duke: And notice that Casey Valentine is nowhere to be found when his partner needs the help!

KC Glenn and Syd Collier vs. Davis Wayne Newton and Jamie Atherton

This tag team contest followed the standard formula almost to a T. Newton and Atherton turned some heads early by isolating Syd Collier from his corner for the opening few minutes of the match. They dominated Syd during this time period. It was only when Collier made the hot tag to KC Glenn that they started making their comeback. Glenn cleaned house and eventually hit his Tune Up the Sunshine Band on Jamie Atherton to secure the victory.

Winners: Glenn and Collier

Time: 10:09

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/39.jpg

Davis: Davis and Jamie gave it their all there, but KC Glenn and Syd Collier come out on top.

Duke: Glenn has really taken MCW by storm since making his debut!

Davis: Speaking of that, I’ll be right back.

“Announcement #2”

Featuring: Davis Ditterich and KC Glenn

Inside the ring, KC Glenn has just shook hands with Syd Collier before the latter exited the ring and begins retreating to the back when the voice of Davis Ditterich fills the air.

Davis: KC Glenn that was quite a performance. It’s what we’ve grown to expect from you. Apparently, the boys on top are impressed as well, because they have asked me to announce that you are now confirmed for the Road to Glory next month! Congratulations and good luck!

Glenn thanks Davis and waves to the crowd before exiting the ring and heading to the back.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Casey%20Valentine.jpg

“I Will Prevail”

Featuring: Casey Valentine

Casey Valentine appears in front of a black curtain that holds the MCW logo. He is clad in his ring gear and holds the MCW Heavyweight Title over his shoulder.

Casey: Since February at Dawnings, when I defeated Aaron Andrews to become the first MCW Heavyweight Champion, he has been coming after me looking for his rematch. Tonight, as I promised last month, he will get that match. But it doesn’t matter. I will prevail and walk out of here with my title still in my possession. I have the momentum of a greater cause on my side. My youth movement is getting stronger each month. What Aaron did earlier tonight to Cameron Vessey is just a small bump in the road. Aaron didn’t finish the job. You see, Aaron made his attack and left it at that. Cameron will come back next month, fully recovered and be ready to gain his measure of revenge on Aaron Andrews. Tonight, I will defeat Aaron and continue to give our youth movement momentum. Soon, young wrestlers across the country will begin standing up for what they are worth. I am here to be their figurehead; their leader. I am providing youth around the world with an example to guide them in an uprising against wrestling as we know it. Tonight, I prove one more time that I am the best young talent plying his trade in wrestling today. I am better than Wolf Hawkins, better than Jay Chord and better than any other “prospect” that wrestling has to offer. I am the youth movement.

With those intense words, Valentine walks out of camera view and off to prepare for his title defense.

Nigel Svensson vs. Greg Gauge

Greg Gauge seemed to be a man on a mission in this match. He and Nigel had a very technically minded match. The pace was slow for the majority of the contest and was evenly matched as well. As the bout progressed, Gauge’s extra year of experience and better ability on the mat began to show through. Svensson found himself mildly outmatched and fell victim to the Proton Lock that caused him to submit to avoid injury.

Winner: Greg Gauge

Time: 10:38

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/43.jpg

Davis: An impressive match there by Nigel Svensson! He held his own against Greg Gauge, but fell to the well-known Proton Lock!

Duke: Greg had a good performance too, Davis. Is your phone going off again?

Davis: It was a good showing by Greg Gauge as well, but my phone hasn’t alerted me of anything yet.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Greg%20Gauge.jpg

“What About Me?”

Featuring: Greg Gauge

Greg Gauge stands as Nigel Svensson does the same on the opposite side of the ring. Greg looks towards Davis Ditterich’s position at the announce table, but sees no movement. He invites Davis into the ring with a hand gesture, but MCW’s play by play man shrugs his shoulders and throws his hands into the air. A look of anger comes across Gauge’s face before he turns and rushes across the ring. He crashes into Nigel Svensson and begins going wild on him, landing strike after strike. Gauge picks Svensson up and slams him to the mat with a powerbomb before picking him up one more time and tossing him over the top rope to the outside. Greg asks for a microphone and quickly receives it.

Gauge: Really? No text messages or phone calls from the powers that be? I am one of the best that MCW has to offer and I am being left out of the Road to Glory? What about me?! I can wrestle with the best and hang with anyone in this business! I am the son of Sam Keith for God’s sake! For the last three months now, Ernest Youngman has been trying to prove that he’s better than me and he has failed. I won’t shake his hand because he has earned zero respect from me! Yet he gets a spot in the Road to Glory and I’m left on the outside. MCW doesn’t know what they have in Greg Gauge and I won’t stand here and be left to wrestle some filler match on next month’s show. I think next month, I’ll fly to Japan and work in GCG for the night and let MCW suck my--

Gauge’s microphone is cut off, enraging him even more. After another moment or two, he finally gives up and exits the ring, angrily retreating to the back.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Mainstream%20Hernandez.jpg

Frankie Perez vs. Steve Flash vs. Steven Parker vs. Mainstream Hernandez

This match was great from the opening bell. Parker, Perez, Hernandez and Flash put on a heck of a show as they battled for the shot at Casey Valentine’s title. The match showed some very creative multi-person offense and sequences. All four men relied on four individual styles to work over their opponents as well. Steven Parker used a lot of high impact moves, Mainstream Hernandez relied heavily on his high flying, Frankie Perez turned to his hard strikes and Steve Flash took things to the mat. The diverse strategies displayed by the four men made for a unique bout. Each man got in their fair share of offense, but also got their own bit of a beat down. As they crossed the twenty minute mark, Mainstream Hernandez snapped Frankie Perez over with a hurrincanrana into an attempted pinfall that was broken up by a superkick from Steven Parker. Both Hernandez and Perez rolled from the ring as Parker got up and turned right into a boot to the gut from Steve Flash. Flash acted quickly, planting Parker with a brainbuster that allowed him to pick up the victory and win the shot at the MCW Heavyweight Title.

Winner: Steve Flash

Time: 21:38

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/62.jpg

Davis: Steve Flash wins! He will move on to face the winner of our next match for the MCW Heavyweight Title!

Duke: Whoever wins this next match, I can’t wait for Flash’s chance at the title next month!

Aaron Andrews vs. Casey Valentine ©

If someone was asked to sum this match up in just a few words, it was an intense, hard hitting contest. As could be expected, the two wrestlers spent the opening stages of the match in a feeling out process. Aaron Andrews, hungry for gold, was the first to make a move and captured the advantage early on. He began working over the champion’s head and neck. The crowd was solidly behind Andrews and would cheer every time he attempted a pinfall. Andrews let control slip through his hands as the match progressed and Casey Valentine took advantage, beginning to wear Andrews down. Valentine was in control for numerous minutes and was looking to end the match when he hoisted his challenger up for the Deep Impact. Andrews was able to slip free and plant the champion with a tornado DDT that was a believable near fall. Andrews kept the momentum and hit a few high impact moves on Valentine, leading to numerous believable near falls. Finally it looked like the match was over as Andrews planted the champion with the Ace Driver, but Andrews was shocked when Valentine kicked out. Andrews got desperate and his work became a bit sloppy, allowing Valentine to make a comeback. Andrews found himself reeling and fell victim to Valentine’s Deep Impact finisher, but Andrews was able to kick out of that just the same. The crowd went nuts as Valentine approached his challenger and was rolled up with a small package that nearly cost him the title. Valentine took it as motivation after he kicked out and planted Andrews with another Deep Impact. That proved to be the final blow as Andrews was pinned to give the successful title defense to Casey Valentine.

Winner: Casey Valentine (2)

Time: 23:57

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/72.jpg

Davis: What a match! I thought we were going to have a new champion for sure!

Duke: Andrews should feel no remorse over that loss. He put up a hell of a fight.

Davis: And how ironic is it that Casey Valentine will now defend his title next month against forty-seven year old Steve Flash? That has to be a slap in the face for his youth movement!

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Casey%20Valentine.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Aaron%20Andrews.jpghttp://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/People/Steve%20Flash.jpg

“Injury to Injury”

Featuring: Casey Valentine, Aaron Andrews and Steve Flash

As has been the case numerous times in the past, Casey Valentine was handed his title belt by Erin Lawrence and had his hand risen. The entire time, he eyeballed Aaron Andrews, sizing him up for another attack. Andrews was getting to his feet, still groggy from being dropped on his head. Valentine held his title belt, ready to deliver a blow to Andrews’ skull. The crowd was yelling at Andrews, warning him to turn around. Just as Valentine began to step forward, Steve Flash emerged from the back and ran to the ring, sliding in and getting to his feet between Andrews and Valentine. Valentine stopped dead in his tracks as his next challenger blocked the way. Andrews turned around and saw the verbal exchange between Flash and the champion. Valentine suddenly fired a punch at Flash, but it was blocked and Steve went on the offensive. He nailed right hands, staggering the champion. Flash whipped the champion into the ropes and Aaron Andrews finished the night by using Casey’s momentum to launch him over the top rope to the outside. The champion crashed to the outside, leaving his title belt in the ring. Aaron Andrews picked it up and posed with the belt before tossing it back to the champion as the show came to a close.

http://www.wxrobbie.com/MCW/Grades/49.jpg

Davis: That’s all the time we have tonight folks! Join us next month for the Road to Glory! Eight men will vie for a shot at the MCW Heavyweight Title and Casey Valentine will defend that title against Steve Flash! For Duke Hazzard, I’m Davis Ditterich! Good night!

It's a damn shame only 14 people went to see that main event. Hell of a match, man. Great rating, too.

Tell me about it! As I write, I have to constantly remind myself that I've only got roughly 20 fans in attendance right now. I've never written a game starting this low and it is proving to be a slight challenge. Thanks for the kind comments and I'm happy to have you reading. I'm hoping by early to mid 2015 game time we'll have risen to Small size and I can go about booking a little bit bigger.

We held our monthly business meeting on the 5th of June, as was normally scheduled. After reviewing the prior show we spent almost two hours talking about how things turned out with our special guests that had come in for Something to Prove and the Road to Glory. We were turning out some really good shows that had a lot of really good talent on them, but not many people were showing up. Our top attendances were for our first two shows of the year at 18 and we hadn’t been above 15 since our third show. It was a little disheartening considering that the one off American Independent shows that were organized by all of the unemployed talent were getting attendances of over 100. The four of us talked about our concerns and it was Davis that pointed out the traffic on our website. Since beginning to stream our shows through the website, we had been seeing almost 100 daily hits. That meant they were people out there that cared about our product and quite possibly just couldn’t get to our shows. We decided to keep on the track that we were on and see where we were at when 2014 came to a close. Creatively, we were all pleased with how the two storylines we had been running had been evolving. They would mildly intertwine at the Road to Glory, but then separate into their own paths again. It was time to finalize our plans for the tournament and everyone agreed there was really only one way to go. With our creative plans set for our next show, I handed out the end of the month reports that the other three had become fond of and explained how I handled the pay of the special guests that were brought in. Our roster’s pay per appearance salaries averaged out to around $500 a show. Of course Steve Flash, Frankie Perez, Steven Parker and Mainstream Hernandez, along with one other that would be announced on our site a few days later, were not working for a measly $500. In fact, their pay for one appearance averaged out to about $1300 a piece. So, I took the liberty of fulfilling my promise. MCW paid the $500 that our average roster salary was and I made up the difference from my own pocket. It set me back about $6000, but it was well worth it in my mind. I also had to thank Casey for being kind enough to head off to a few other companies on talent trades that made having a couple of these guys possible. He said that it was his pleasure and was good publicity for our little promotion.
