TNA- The Billy Corgan Era

Recommended Posts

This is going to be an attempt to write a diary that I don't completely give up on within a week of starting it. This will start from the first week of May and the opening day roster is below. I have chosen Billy Corgan as my user character as his recent appointment has come at roughly the right time for this diary. Hopefully the first week of shows will be up shortly, and there should be more than one like other previous attempts. Also as I don't really keep up with TNA in real life I have decided to scrap all of the exiting stables, and have cancelled the contracts for Explosion and will start from scratch except for the title holders.

We have a main event featuring M.V.P taking on Gunner, and we will be meeting the new owner of Impact wrestling and that is about to happen right now.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">In-Ring Interview</span></span></p><p> Tonight, Tonight begins to play as the new owner of TNA Impact Wrestling Billy Corgan enters the arena with a microphone in hand. The Smashing Pumpkins front man is here to introduce himself as the new owner and to explain that while he searches for a new General Manager that he will be making all decisions and will be making a special effort to meet with all of the current champions tonight to discuss the future of the company.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: E-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Gail Kim vs. Havok</strong></p><p> The new era of impact began with a Knockout's match between one of the veterans of the division and one of the newer women trying to make a splash. Both women went tooth and nail against each other with both women getting near falls. The match ended when Havok hit Kim with a suicide dive, which lead to both Knockouts being unable to make it back into the ring before the referee reached his ten count.</p><p> <strong>Double Count Out at 4:49</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">In the ring</span></span></p><p> Mr. Anderson comes out to the ring to discuss how he's sees himself as the future of the company and now that we have entered a new period in the history of the company it was his time to shine and prove that he has what it takes to capture the heavyweight title and show the world what an assh*le can do. Out of nowhere Magnus appears smacking Anderson in the back with a steel chair. After dishing out some punishment the Brit proceeds to take a table from under the ring and then sends Mr. Anderson through the table with a powerbomb, and then does some jaw jacking over Anderson’s prone body.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: C-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bobby Roode vs. Samuel Shaw</strong></p><p> Our next match saw Roode coming out like a house on fire and didn't let up on Shaw until a poke to the eye slowed him down and Shaw began trying to wear him down. She discusses how she had met with the new owner earlier in the day and said that she explained to him that there isn't any competition for here in TNA and she won't be willing to put her title on the line until someone proves that they deserve to be in the same ring as her, and from what she has seen so far it may be a very long time before we'll see her again.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Rising (Mica & Eli Drake) vs. Bram & Manik</strong></p><p> Back in the ring we are ready for tag team action. We were treated to a cohesive showing from Mica and Drake who used their experience as a team to beat the put together team of Bram & Manik, with the pinfall finally coming after Mica hits Bram with a DDT.</p><p> <strong>Winners: The Rising at 5:25</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: E+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> Billy Corgan is backstage talking with one half of the current tag team champions Matt Hardy. They discuss the situation with the tag team titles and the injury to Jeff Hardy. Corgan explains that he understands the situation but the tag team titles will need to be competed for at Sacrifice, and as Jeff is out for 4 months, he is giving Matt the chance to pick another partner and will defend the titles at Sacrifice. Hardy looks happy and tells Corgan that the titles will be going nowhere.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: E )</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>James Storm vs. Tigre Uno</strong></p><p> The young luchador tried to use his speed to keep the big Redkneck off balance and this worked for the early moments of the match, but the size and strength of Storm eventually shone through and lead to his eventually victory after hitting the Last Call.</p><p> <strong>Winner: James Storm at 5:41</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> Our X-Division champ was the next person who got to meet the new owner, and explained that it doesn’t matter who they want to put in the ring with him because he is the greatest X-division star this company has ever seen and there isn't anyone who can prove anything different.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: E+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Austin Aries vs. DJ Zema Ion</strong></p><p> Our next match involved two workers who might be trying prove King wrong about his claims as being the best ever in the X-Division. Both competitors used a mixture of high risk moves and some mat based wrestling. This fast paced contest went back and forth, but eventually Aries experience give him an edge and, after a Brainbuster, the victory.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Austin Aries at 8:12</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: C)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> Ethan Carter III is backstage and he is here to explain that even though Auntie Dixie isn't here anymore, it doesn't mean that his rise to the top has been derailed, he is going to use the tenacity that the Carter's used to amass their fortune to bring him all the riches this industry had to offer and that would soon lead him to be top of the pile here in TNA, and that is just a fact of life.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> Christy Hemme is stood by backstage with Matt Hardy. Christy asks if Matt has any idea who would be his partner at . He states that next week he will be teaming with Eric Young.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D )</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Low-Ki vs. Knux</strong></p><p> If you looked at the two competitors you would have thought that this match would go one way, but "The Warrior" used his stiff strikes to take the big brawler down a bit. At times it looked like Knux would only need to hit one big move to end this but eventually he was worn down by 'Ki's kicks, and all that was needed for a 3 count was a Warrior's Way.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Low-Ki at 6:14</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> We cut backstage to catch the final moments of a savage beating be laid down on Drew Galloway by James Storm. As Storm is being held back by officials he can heard screaming at Galloway, telling him that he better not think he can come waltzing in from "Up North" and take over, that Storm will not let that happen and things like this will keep happening until people learnt not to cross or disrespect him.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: E+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Authorities Office</span></span></p><p> Corgan is here to say that next week will be seeing a rematch from a match earlier tonight as Gail Kim will take on Havok and hopefully we will have a winner.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: E)</strong> </p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage Promo</span></span></p><p> M.V.P is backstage hyping his match against Gunner, which is coming up next. He explains that he understands how Billy Corgan must feel, as he was not so long ago in a similar position. He warns Corgan to not interfere in his business. That leads him onto his match tonight where he explains to Gunner that it doesn't matter what he does in the ring tonight he can't hope to beat M.V.P as M.V.P is a born winner and there is nothing anyone can do about that.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: C-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Authorities Office</span></span></p><p> Finally the new owner met up with his current Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle. The meeting was cordial, and Angle hoped for a successful future for the company and let Corgan know that he was ready for whatever is required of him in the future.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Gunner vs. M.V.P</strong></p><p> Our Main Event of the evening took place and M.V.P didn't waste any time trying to get the victory coming aggressively out of the gate throwing everything he had at Gunner, but eventually Gunner managed to make a comeback and we had a very even encounter. That was until M.V.P used a low blow behind the referees back, which left Gunner open to a Playmaker and the loss.</p><p> <strong>Winner: M.V.P at 13:24</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: E+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Overall Show Grade: D</strong></span></p>

The change from Tag to Single didn't seem to slow Richards down and he was able to put in an impressive display and eventually wrapped up the victory using the Tiger Bomb.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Davey Richards at 5:07</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">In The Ring</span></span></p><p> We come back from the break to find Bobby Roode in the ring holding a microphone. He talks about wondering why last week Abyss decided to come out and attack him after his match. He decides on second thoughts that there is no way you can try and understand why someone like Abyss does anything, instead he is going to let everyone know, including the Monster, that he ready to fight every step of the way, and when the dust eventually settles he will be the one stood tall. Unfortunately for him Abyss was under the ring and decided to appear at this moment to attack Roode again, eventually leaving him lying with the BlackHole Slam.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: C-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Video</span></span></p><p> We are then shown a highlight video of the match last week between Gail Kim & Havok, with the announcers discussing what took place and that Owner Billy Corgan then booked a rematch, which will take place next.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: E)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Gail Kim vs. Havok</strong></p><p> After what took place last week both women decided to wrestle a more cautious match to try and avoid a mistake that could lead to a count out or put them in a losing predicament. This lead to a more mat based match, with both of them trading holds and counter holds. This caution lead to them not realising how long the match had been going on, and as both women were down on the mat the bell was rung to signal that we had reached the 10 minute time limit(All non-main event TV matches hold a 10 minute time limit, with the main event being given 15 minutes) and we have another draw.</p><p> <strong>Time Limit Draw at 10:0</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Inset Promo</span></span></p><p> As they come down to the ring for their match, we are treated to an inset promo from the newest Team in TNA, The Street Team. Andreas Veniamin & Jason Moran introduce themselves and explain that in the past they had fought tooth and nail on the street to earn themselves a living and decided to test their skills against the best, which is why they now find themselves in TNA.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Street Team (Andreas Veniamin & Jason Moran) vs. Manik & Samuel Shaw</strong></p><p> After their promo introduced them to the Impact audience, the Street Team introduced themselves to Manik & Shaw with some hard hitting offence. Although not particular fancy, their move set was effective, with the strike based offense keeping their opponents off balance. The match ended with Veniamin hitting the Frog Splash and taking the pinfall.</p><p> <strong>Winners: The Street Team at 5:45</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Promo</span></span></p><p> Austin Aries is backstage with a few words for the fans. He talks about having heard some people in the locker room talking about being unbeatable no matter who they come up against, well those people better hope that they don't end looking across the ring from him, as he is a former 6 time X Division champ, a former tag team champion, and a former TNA champion, and that might just be too much for the rest of the roster to handle, and he'll prove this again later tonight.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: B-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Angelina Love vs. Rebel</strong></p><p> The next match gave another look at the knockouts division, with Angelina Love taking on the unusual Rebel. This was a fast paced match with Rebel building up a head of steam with Love being unable to do anything, and eventually falling to a Rebel Yell(Double Arm DDT). The commentary team wondered after the match whether this performance might have been enough to impress the Knockouts champ Taryn Terrell.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Rebel at 4:39</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: E)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> We come backstage to find Matt Hardy talking to his partner for the night Eric Young. Hardy tells Young that if he wants to be able to keep the belt warm for Jeff he's going to need to do something special, as not just anyone could replace someone like Jeff. Young nods along and says that he understands, but when Hardy walks off camera Young looks a little freaked out.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Video</span></span></p><p> Nest we have a video recapping the situation that took place between Mr. Anderson and Magnus last week, including when Magnus Powerbombed Anderson through a table.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: D+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Eric Young & Matt Hardy vs. Homicide & DJ Zema Ion</strong></p><p> As try-outs go, this one was pretty good with Young and Hardy showing some good team work, keeping their opponent on their side of the ring, and using frequent tags. One Twist of Fate later and they are your winners.</p><p> <strong>Winners: Young & Hardy at 8:21</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Promo</span></span></p><p> Now to a pre-recorded video from Drew Galloway. Galloway directs his comments directly to James Storm after his unprovoked attack last week. The Scotsman’s took exception to Storm saying that he had "Waltzed" into TNA, saying that he is ready to fight for his place in any company that he steps foot in, and if Storm doesn't believe him he is more than welcome to step in the ring with him at Sacrifice.</p><p> <strong>(Grade: E)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> Walking through the corridors is TNA Champion Kurt Angle, ready for his match latter on tonight, when he bumps into one of the men he will be facing tonight M.V.P. M.V.P takes exception to this, claiming he doesn't need any luck to beat a washed up has been like Angle, and after the beating his partner took earlier in the show by the Monster Abyss, he'll be lucky to have any help in his match. The two went nose to nose, but both went their separate ways before they came to blows. Whilst the two competitors made their way to the ring, King explained that someone backstage had told him that Aries had been flapping his gums saying that people should be worried about him, well last time he checked he had a title belt on his shoulder and all Aries had was his memories, but decided to check him out just to confirm his suspicions. The actual match showed exactly why King might need to be worried, as Aries was able to hold his own against the much bigger Lashley. Lashley used his amateur background and strength to keep Aries off his feet but eventually a lapse in concentration left Lashley open and he was caught in the Last Chancery and forced to tap. King took time to say that what he saw was okay but Aries hadn't faced a champion yet.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Austin Aries at 9:12</strong></p><p><strong> (Grade: D-)</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Backstage</span></span></p><p> Just before we are about to start the Main event proceedings, our camera's backstage catch the tail end of a 2 on 1 beating being laid down on Bobby Roode by M.V.P & Low-Ki. At the announce desk

We start with our commentary team running down the great action we can expect to see tonight on Impact. We have Matt Hardy teaming with Knux against The Bro-Mans, in this weeks tryout, a Knockouts match between Rebel and Brooke Tessmacher, and a Main Event featuring Kurt Angle battling Low-Ki.

(Grade: D)

Manix vs. Mr. Anderson

Our in ring action begins tonigh with this bout, which seem to be just a showcase for Mr. Anderson, who didn't really seem to have any problems with the mysterious high flier, and eventually picked up the victory with the Mic Check.

Winner: Mr. Anderson at 7:04

(Grade: D)

In Ring

Mike Tenay is now stood in the ring ready to conduct an interview with two people who have had a bit of an issue recently in Abyss and Bobby Roode. Tenay first asks Roode if he can understand why The Monster might have attacked recently him. Roode says that he can't think why but that Abyss should understand that Roode isn't going anywhere. Before Tenay can ask a question to him, Abyss snatches the microphone and directs his words directly to Roode. "You talking about not going anywhere, and that sounds like you're not scared, well by the time I have finished that will not be the case." He goes on to elaborate on his themes discussing that he plans on bringing a climate of fear to TNA, and the first stop will be Sacrifice when he will show Roode that he is the Boogeyman of TNA, and everybody should be scared of the Boogeyman.

(Grade: C-)

The Bro-Mans (Jessie & Robbie E) vs. Matt Hardy & Knux

Hardy and this weeks partner took on the establishe team of the Bro-Mans, hoping that facing a well oiled team would make Knux step up his game and prove himself to Hardy. The burly Knux used his power game well, but the lack of teamwork displayed by Hardy & Knux was too much and The Bro-Mans took the victory with a pinfall on Knux, after Jessiehit him from behind leaving Knux open to a superkick and the loss.

Winners: The Bro-Mans at 6:38

(Grade: D)

Video

We are now shown a video highlighting the rivalry between Havok & Gail Kim and the two draws they had fought to in the previous two weeks, whilst a voiceover explained that they would teaming up later tonight.

(Grade: E)

Backstage

Kurt Angle is warming up backstage when M.V.P walks on screen and begins to taunt Angle about what happened to him last week, and it would be a shame if an accident were to a happen to him, like the accident that happened to Bobby Roode last week. Angle approached M.V.P and explaied that first that was unlikely to happen as M.V.P was on his own, and Angle was facing him, and secondly that anytime M.V.P wanted to test him he wasn't hard to find. The two had a stare down as the segment ended.

(Grade: D+)

Havok & Gail Kim vs. Jade & Marti Belle

The old adage of if you can't beat them, join them, didn't really work in this match. It started off well enough, but after a couple of moments of miscomunication Havok decided that she had had enough left Kim on her own and at the mercy of Belle and couldn't stop herself being pinned.

Winners: Jade & Belle at 5:47

(Grade: D-)

Backstage Promo

Aries is backstage and has a few words. He talks about backing up his words last week with a victory over Lashley and it just goes to show that it doesn't matter what type of opponent you put in fron of him, he will continue to prove how good he is, and that may be mking a prson who is holding a belt a little nervous that he might be shown up.

(Grade: B+)

Brooke Tessmacher vs. Rebel

Josh & JB were joined at ringside by Knockouts champ Taryn Terrell who was there to provide commentary. As the Champ explained that she still hadn't been impressed by any other woman on the roster. Her opinion may have been changed by yet another impressive performance by Rebel who kept up her streak when she hit the Rebel Yell for the victory.

Winner: Rebel at 5:01

(Grade: E)

After the match

Rebel calls for a microphone and issues a challenge to Terrell for a title match at Sacrifice. Terrell doesn't gie an answer just laughs off the challenege on commentary.

(Grade: E-)

Authorities Office

Billy Corgan is backstage and tells us that he has found a new General Manager and that he will be announced at Sacrifice.

(Grade: E)

Magnus vs. Mandrews

Magnus came out with aggressiveness that shocked the TNA newcomer Mandrews. Despite some moments of hope, this was pretty much all Magnus, and he took the victory with a Magnus Driver.

Winner: Magnus at 6:10

(Grade: D)

Backstage

Matt Hardy & Knux are backstage talking through their match from earlier, with Hardy saying that after a prformance like that there is no way he can help him keep Jeff's title belt warm, and that hopefully next week Gunner will put in a better performance.

(Grade: E+)

Backstage

James Storm is backstage with an answer to the challenge he received last week from Drew Galloway. Storm states that he doesn't have anything else planned for Sacrifice so it would be his pleasure to send him packing to whatever hole he came out of, so get ready for his farewell party.

(Grade: C-)

Austin Aries vs. Tyrus

Aries continued his momentum building streak when he picked up the victory against Tyrus. He was on the back foot for most of the match due to the difference in size but Aries was able to use his speed and wrestling technique to ground the big man, and one 450 splash later we had a winner.

Winner: Austin Aries at 8:01

(Grade: C-)

After the match

Before Aries had a chance to celebrate he was blindsided by X-Division champion Kenny King who beat on an already tired Aries before leaving him laying with the Torture Rack DDT. The segment ended with King Posing with the belt over Aries body.

(Grade: D)

Backstage

Kurt Angle was backstage to hype his upcoming match with Low-Ki. He explained that what he is about to get some revenge on Ki for his hand in what took place last week. He also had some words for M.V.P saying that once he was done with Low-Ki he was coming for M.V.P.

Who has she been abusing?

Well not anyone in particular, and you could argue that some of the tweets were just misjudged jokes were just misjudged jokes, but probably should have thought twice. Below is from the Observer Update on Saturday

With Jessica Havok at the WWE tryout camp going on right now at the Performance Center, some fans started pointing out various tweets she wrote a few years ago that used racial and homophobic slurs. She started deleting those tweets, which didn't help, as screen grabs had been taken and she didn't realize that she had written literally dozens of other tweets using similar language. Obviously, in 2015, that makes WWE a lot less likely to hire her, so she tweeted this apology out in several parts:

"I want to apologize whole heartedly for the OLD tweets that are being brought up right now. Legit, It was years ago and i don't even rem.tweeting over half of this stuff. The stuff i do remember was jokes that were in bad taste. I was young and very new to social media promo and i was very immature and just said things to make my friends laugh at the time. Inside jokes between us. I don't really feel or believe any of the things i DID actually tweet. I am a loving, compassionate person and i LOVE everyone. No mater who! I would die for any wrestling fan and i care so much about wrestling and everything in it. I would not be here without any of you. I was young, stupid & immature. I am not too proud to admit some of it was me being bitter for all the wrong reasons, but I've learned and grown from this .. i hope this can be forgiven. I love you guys."

She also told David Gilbert of TalkTNAPodcast.com that she also had an ex that "used to play on her phone." For whatever it's worth, in the past, she used the song "Third Reich from the Sun" by Hanzel und Gretyl as entrance music. There seems to be disagreement as to whether or not they're a "white power" band, a satirical take on "white power" bands, or a band that claims to have no official political ideology but uses some **** imagery.

Jason Moran vs. Robbie E

Our first match of the evening saw two tag team wrestlers having to go onto the unfamiliar ground of singles wrestling, where we had The Bro-Mans Robbie E taking on The Street Team's Jason Moran. Backstage Interview

Backstage we have Christy Hemme standing by ready to interview x-Division Champ Kenny King. Christy asks King about his attack on Austin Aries last week, the champ answered by explaining that he had her Aries bragging week after week about how good he was, and he had all the veiled shots Aries had been taking, and all the titles he had won, well last week all King remembers is himself being stood over Aries' fallen body with the X-division belt over his shoulder. When Christy tries to reason that he attacked Aries after a match and that it might be different facing him when he was fresh, King explained that it won't matter what state Aries is in as King would beat him any time they met.

(Grade: D)

Bram & Khoya vs. Matt Hardy & Gunner

The final try out match Matt Hardy has hosted featured Gunner, and was more successful than last week’s attempt as Hardy and Gunner were able to defeat the put together team of Bram & Khoya, when Gunner picked up the pinfall after hitting the Gun Rack.

Winners: Hardy & Gunner at 5:56

In The Ring

Magnus comes down to ringside as he has some words for Mr. Anderson that explain his attack. Before he can really get too far Anderson rushes from the back and takes the fight to Magnus. As the two men were dragged away in opposite directions we neither looking satisfied.

Winner: Mandy Leon at 5:13

(Grade: E-)

In The Ring

A clearly irate Austin Aries is stood in the ring ready to respond to Kenny King's earlier comments. He explains that he heard what king had to say and conceded that maybe King was right and it wouldn't matter what condition Aries was in, and based on that it shouldn't be a problem to give him a match at Sacrifice, so how about it?. This brought an amused champion out, with King responding that he wasn't the least bit worried about Aries beating him, so he'd see him this Sunday.

(Grade: D+)

Bobby Lashley vs. Crazzy Steve

Impacts resident crazy, or should that be crazzy, clown probably should have stayed in the back as, other than a few offensive moves, the huge Lashley unleashed some powerful moves on his way to an easy victory.

Winner: Bobby Lashley at 6:07

(Grade: D)

Backstage

Gail Kim is backstage talking with an official when Havok appears and the start arguing about their recent matches and its failure to determine a winner. As the argument heats up Billy Corgan arrives on the scene and decides that the two will face each other at Sacrifice.

DJ Zema Ion vs. Eric Young

Matt Hardy's confirmed partner was in singles action next against Ion and the two went toe to toe and there were time either man could have got the victory, but it eventually went to the Young and he was looks ready to help Matt Hardy retain his tag team title.

Winner: Kenny King at 5:48

(Grade: D)

In Ring

M.V.P comes out and says that he doesn't want to wait until Sunday to get his hands on Kurt Angle, so unless Angle was too afraid to face him he would come down to the ring right now. As M.V.P waited in the ring, Angle's music hits and the former Olympian makes his way to ringside. But before he can make it too far before he falls to the floor, and it takes a few seconds to locate Low-Ki with chair in hand behind Angles body. The two then lay a beating into Angle before officials come out to protect Angle from taking any more damage.

Austin Aries vs. Kenny King ©

http://s7.postimg.org/yq7gzy9af/Austin_Aries_alt.jpg vs. http://s21.postimg.org/r3wm7swn7/Kenny_King.jpg

  • The opening bout of the evening was a fast paced match that had both competitors going all out to prove that they are the better man, but it was only Kenny King who decided to go beyond the boundaries of the rules. With Austin Aries attempting to hit a corner splash King moved out the way and then proceeded to schoolboy Aries, with the handful of tights he had made getting the three count easier.

Winner: Kenny King at 11:23

(Grade: C-)

On The Stage

Billy Corgan comes out on the stage and lets the TNA audience that after tonight he would be taking more of a backseat as the hiring of his new General Manager means that he can concentrate more on the business side. Corgan then brings out the new General Manager.

http://s2.postimg.org/kjr2zbt85/Diamond_Dallas_Page.jpg

Out comes the new GM Diamond Dallas Page. He takes the mic from Corgan and tells the world to get ready to feel the bang, and goes on to explain that he will be making sure that TNA goes from strength to strength. He left the stage to let the action continue.

http://s17.postimg.org/3ytik3l3f/Gail_Kim.jpg vs. http://s28.postimg.org/v23eskbnt/Jessicka_Havok_alt2.jpg

  • These two knockouts have been unable to gain victory in their series of matches this month, so both put everything into this match which could have gone either way. It was eventually Gail Kim who was able to achieve the victory when she managed to connect with the Eat Defeat to pick up the victory.

Winner: Gail Kim at 6:33

(Grade: C-)

Drew Galloway vs. James Storm

http://s27.postimg.org/u2ca5430f/Drew_Mc_Intyre_alt.jpg vs. http://s27.postimg.org/wnmg6dhrz/James_Storm.jpg

  • The big angry redneck was determined to put Galloway out of TNA as he didn't feel there was room in TNA for all these guys from "up north". He used his power to try and put Drew out of commission.
  • Galloway was able to change the momentum when he was able to move out the way of a second rope leg drop, and that went about trying to prove that he was willing to fight for his chance for glory in TNA.
  • Unfortunately for Galloway he wasn't able to put Storm away. Storm managed to come back into the match and he hit the Last Ride for the win.

Winner: James Storm at 15:45

(Grade: C-)

We join The American Wolves backstage as they have some words for whoever wins the Tag Team Ladder match. They talk about having never actually lost the belts in the ring, and with Eddie only a couple of weeks away from being cleared to compete, they want the first shot at the new champs, so they will be watching tonight with great interest.

(Grade: D-)

Ringside

With the three known teams already in the ring ready for the title match, DDP came out to announce the newest signings. He tells the audience that they would probably remember these guys as they always make an impression no matter what. He then introduces...

  • As with a lot of ladder matches this was a difficult match to keep track of as body were being flung everywhere. The Street Team looked at home with the lack of rules and delivered a lot of damage using the ladders as weapons, but it was the returning Alex Shelley who successfully managed to climb the ladder and unhook the belts making the Machineguns our new tag champs.

Winners: The Motor City Machineguns at 13:45

(Grade: C-)

After the Match

As the Machineguns celebrated in the ring the Wolves came down to the ring and got into an intense stare down with the new champs, making it clear that they wanted the tag titles.

May's World News

TNA

Comings and Goings

With the arrival of new booker Billy Corgan there have been a few changes at TNA. John Gaburick was let go at the begining of the month as Corgan wanted to come away from a writing team, instead having himself as the sole booker, with the help of agents and the wrestlers themselves to help with writing promos and angles. There were a few signinnings this month with Diamon Dallas Page, Mandy Leon, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Masada (Jason Moran), and Afa Anoa'i Jr (Andreas Veniamin) joing Corgan's revolution.

Gunner gassed?

Gunner failed a random drug test given after a recent Impact taping. He was found with traces of steriods in his system, and was given a talking toby Corgan but no further action was taken at this time.

Angle: A fighting Champ?

TNA Champion was given a severe warining after a backstage incident involving the Champ and Abyss. Angle was seen to be provoking the Big guy all day backstage and eventually when Abyss wouldn't rise to the bait then got into a physical altercation which was quickly broken up by the other wrestlers. Corgan was seen to be furious backtage and gave Angle a stern warning that this would not be tolerated again.

Wolves staying

The American Wolves, Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards, have both signed new 1 year deals with TNA. The deals are thought to be on a pay per appearance basis and they should be able to work for other companies should they choose.
