The wrestler known as Zema Ion in TNA makes his Ring of Honor Wrestling debut, right here, right now! ACH prepares to shake hands, as per the Code of Honor, and Shiima Xion obliges. He instantly follows up with a kick to the gut and yells in ACH's face: "my title now!" Xion takes control of the match with a step-up Enzuigiri Kick. This good title match (and good introduction for the obnoxious Filipino) led to many near falls, but ACH managed to thwart Xion's attempt at the Bible Black (running double knees) and land the Dragon Fly, following up with a quick one, two, three!

 

ACH def. Shiima Xion in 10:17 by pinfall with a Dragon Fly. ACH makes defence #3 of his ROH World Television title.

BJ Whitmer: Alright, Technical Nothing, you and your hoe need to come out here. I'm assuming your partner is one of those PP-whatever.. guys. Let's get this overwith so I can win Survival of the Fittest.

A loud chorus of boos can be heard from a disappointed crowd, not wanting the Decade to have a man-up advantage.

BJ Whitmer: Are you serious!? Did the circus leave town already!? That's a shame, I'm soooooo sorry, T, really, I am. It looks like you're gonna have to ride solo. What a shame!

Marty Scurll: I know what you all thinkin'.. The Villain comin' to the rescue? I'll be honest, I don't like you, uh, RJ, is it? TJ? But I like title shots. Survival o' the Fittest is perfect for the Villain. Let's mess these rascals up.

Marty drops his microphone and heads down to the ring. TJ simply shrugs his shoulders before following the Villain down to the ring!

The Decade (BJ Whitmer & Adam Page) vs. "Technical Lightning" TJ Perkins & "The Villain" Marty Scurll (w/"The Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon)

 

The unexpected pairing of one of ROH's most heroic competitors, and it's (without a doubt) least heroic competitors took on the shambled remains of the Decade. The Decade were caught off guard by TJP & the Villain at first, mostly due to Scurll's quick surprise tags to TJ's shoulders. Whitmer and Page found their stride for a bit, with Page looking to Turn the Page on TJ Perkins. Instead, BJ Whitmer tagged himself in, and the following argument between Page and Whitmer led to TJ grabbing Whitmer and whipping him across the ring. Page simply climbs to the outside, as TJ runs to the other side of the ring and lands a dropkick. He follows up with the Detonation Kick, but Marty Scurll tags himself in! The Villain climbs right in and quickly covers BJ Whitmer. One! Two! Three! TJP and Marty are both in Survival of the Fittest!

After the match, Marty messes with TJ by raising his arm and then throwing it down. Meanwhile, BJ Whitmer berates Adam Page, leading to Page tossing Whitmer to the mat with Turn the Page. Consider the Decade no more.

 

TJ Perkins & Marty Scurll def. The Decade in 6:53 when Marty Scurll pinned BJ Whitmer after TJP landed a Detonation Kick.

Moose vs. "Mr. ROH" Roderick Strong vs. "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin

 

A very good three-way match between men who are on the up-and-up in Ring of Honor for sure. Last time this match happened, Roddy got the win and went on to challenge Jay Lethal in his first title defense. Now, they all look to make it into Survival of the Fittest. While most fans would expect all three of these men in Survival of the Fittest, only one can be, and that just goes to show what SotF is all about. Moose controlled both of his opponents at the same time in the beginning, but Elgin didn't let Moose overpower him for too long. The match saw many a counter, but the end was Roddy landing a forearm in the corner to Moose, and then to Elgin, and then back to Moose, and then back to Elgin. This was followed up by a Sick Kick that rocked Elgin and sent him to the outside, allowing Strong to land the End of Heartache on Moose, and lock him in the Strong Hold. Moose had nowhere to go, and Elgin was incapacitated. Roddy gets the win when Moose submits!

 

Roderick Strong def. Moose and Michael Elgin in 12:58 when Roddy made Moose submit to the Strong Hold.

Rating: 57

Roderick Strong looked good out there.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla star Rich Swann had just told PWG fans to look out for him in Ring of Honor, and what a way to join us! He shakes a very confident Jay Lethal's hand, and then rocks him with a dropkick. Swann goes for a standing, imploding 450 Splash early, but Lethal puts his boot right up and catches Swann in the jaw. The two go back and forth for awhile, with Swann even finding himself in control. This match of the night came to a close when Rich Swann missed a Corkscrew Moonsault, and Jay Lethal landed the Lethal Injection and then showed Swann he can come off the top rope too. Hail to the King seals the deal, but an impressive debut from the PWG star. Looks like he may stick around for a little while.

The Trilogy (Austin Aries & Eddie Edwards w/Low-Ki) vs. The Young Bucks

 

This was perhaps the most intriguing match of the night, and it is one of the only ones without a surprise competitor involved. The Young Bucks (who are treated to "Young Bucks!" *clap clap* and "Too Sweet!" *clap clap*) are clearly on the rise here in Ring of Honor, yet they were the first victims in the Trilogy's original rise. Now, the Trilogy are on the decline, and they once again find themselves on the other side of the ring from the Young Bucks. It is hard to count out the Trilogy, though, due to the star power of Austin Aries, and the fact that they sent the Bucks away from nearly a month.

The result of all this tension was a great back and forth match, also known as a Superkick Party, that found Austin Aries bailing on Eddie Edwards. Aries ducked a Superkick and decided to get out of dodge all together, insisting Low-Ki help him retreat. The Wolf was left to eat an Indytaker and a high-pitched Nick Jackson "Suck It!" One, two, three! The sky is the limit for the Bucks!

 

The Young Bucks def. The Trilogy in 15:29 when Matt Jackson pinned Eddie Edwards after an Indytaker.

Our main event gave two tag team stars a chance to shine. Frankie Kazarian of the former ROH World Tag Team Champions of the World, the Addiction, going one-on-one with Chris Sabin from the newly reunited Motor City Machine Guns. These two had a classic one-on-one contest, reminding the ROH crowd that the TNA X-Division used to be amazing. Now, in Ring of Honor, we see the Best Wrestling on the Planet! Chris Sabin found his way to victory with the Cradle Shock, or so it seemed! Kaz managed to kick out! Sabin couldn't believe it, and this allowed Kazarian to recover and land Wave of the Future! Perhaps Sabin would've kicked out, but Kaz put his feet on the ropes at the last second! Kazarian escapes with the win!

 

Frankie Kazarian def. Chris Sabin in 13:14 by pinfall after the Wave of the Future and a pin with his feet on the ropes.

This gives Xion the advantage in the early stages of the match, but a surprise Deadlift German Suplex from Castle (which received a two-count) kept the Peacock in the match. Castle and Xion went back and forth with stiff chops, before Castle led out a screeching Peacock noise, that sent even the Obnoxious Filipino staggering backwards. Xion ducked a clothesline attempt, and landed a Pele Kick to the back of Castle's head. He runs in front of Castle, Filipino Destroyer (Snapmare Driver)! Whichever team manages to keep their opponents at by and grab a pinfall or submission will face the Kingdom for the titles on Saturday. The Bucks go for Superkicks early, but reDRagon catch their boots, and RPG Vice snap off a couple Superkicks to take the Bucks down! Wow! Matt and Nick roll out of the ring to regroup, allowing Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly to have a great back-and-forth exchange with Beretta and Rocky Romero. After awhile, all three teams are gassed, but keep it rolling in order to get that ever-important ROH World Tag Team title shot!</em></p><p><em> This scene right out of a New Japan Pro-Wrestling Jr. Heavyweight Tag match saw many great tag team counters and maneuvers. A double tope atomico from RPG Vice to Bobby Fish on the outside proved to be a vital mistake, as the Young Bucks landed an Indytaker on Kyle O'Reilly for the one, two, three. These two instantly gelled as opponents, and 44-year-old Christopher Daniels (who has officially been wrestling just as long as he didn't wrestle) has still not missed a beat. These two went back and forth in the beginning, with a fast-paced reversal based plan of attack from both men. Daniels slowed things down by attempting Last Rites, but Shelley escaped and locked in the Border City Stretch. Neither of these two wanted to give an inch, so giving up wasn't an option. Hard hitting strikes and impactful grapples were followed by beautiful dives. Daniels thought he had it done with the Best Moonsault Ever, but Shelley kicked out. Perhaps this one was so good because of the dynamic. You can imagine how it started. Matt Sydal backed up into one corner, and the Trilogy members closed in on him like scavengers. Sydal landed a high kick to Aries' head, and slid under Edwards' legs. He bounced off the ropes and landed a low dropkick to the back of Edwards and Low-Ki's knees at same time. He then rolled backwards, hopped up top, and came down with a big kick to the chest of Austin Aries. Matt Sydal raised his peace sign and heard a big ovation from the excited crowd that just saw him take down all three members of the Trilogy, single handedly!</em></p><p><em> Unfortunately, that is now how the rest of the match would go for Mr. Peace & Love. He found himself quickly outnumbered, and the Trilogy spent the beginning of the match simply beating down Sydal. After a bit, Eddie Edwards landed the Die Hard Driver to Sydal, followed by Austin Aries hitting the Brainbuster, and then Low-Ki coming off the top with Warrior's Way. "Reborn" Matt Sydal was pretty much destroyed. Edwards went into the cover, but Low-Ki quickly pulled him off. Edwards and Low-Ki continued to argue, while Austin Aries backed up into the corner to watch. Rather than being a helpful diplomat, Aries landed a big dropkick to send Edwards of the out of the ring.</em></p><p><em> Low-Ki was confused for a minute, but then thanked Aries. Aries laughed and landed a Snap Suplex to Low-Ki. "We're doing this, boys! Survival of the Fittest!" Austin Aries went into the cover on Matt Sydal, but by this time, the speedsters was able to kickout! Aries looked frustrated, and tossed Sydal into the corner like a ragdoll. Edwards climbs back into the ring, and Aries insists Edwards help him beatdown Matt Sydal. Instead, Low-Ki and Eddie Edwards land simultaneous dropkicks to Austin Aries.</em></p><p><em> The Trilogy members shake hands before fighting back and forth for quite some time. Low-Ki ducks a clothesline and lands a high kick to Edwards, followed by the Ki Krusher! He goes for the cover, but none other than Matt Sydal breaks up the pin!! Low-Ki looks very upset, and tries to take the offense to Sydal, but Sydal instead lands a few hard kicks, and then a big DDT. Austin Aries comes in from behind with a Chop Block.</em></p><p><em> Austin Aries and Matt Sydal have a great exchange now.</em></p><p><em> In the end of this match, Matt Sydal looks to land the Shooting Sydal Press on Low-Ki, but the Trilogy seem to unite again when Edwards and Aries both bounce on the ropes to knock Sydal down.
