As many of you may already know, I have decided to re-boot Wrestling Action in Revolt; however, with a brand new spin on it (in several aspects). While I will get into the new owner (and product style), I wanted to first address the "forum-created phenomenon" that I've been using lately.

 

I reached out to several former LAX Wrestling creators; as well as some strong creative minds on the board overall. In doing so, I feel

we

have created something very special with Wrestling Action in Revolt. The range of characters, in-ring styles, and fighting perspectives has truly brought this little project into a newly organic place. I could have said the same thing with LAX Wrestling, as there were a number of amazing characters, and I'm super excited to have this opportunity once again.

 

With that in mind, let's touch upon a few things before we get to the roster unveil (which will be coming in the next few days/weeks).

 

WAR WRESTLER CREATORS

I am extremely fortunate to have worked with a number of strong creative minds. With this in mind, you will see wrestlers from the likes of:

DAVEFAN95, JamesO, packerman120, K-Nection, MisterRomano, Sudo_Nym, Zergon, BigPapa42, Jaysin, MJStark, Hashasheen, Jhd1, and Adam Ryland.

They all put their personal stamp on a wrestler (guy or girl) and have created a slew of hard-nosed wrestlers willing to break their bodies for the sake of WAR. Within this crew, we have cruiserweights, MMA-Crossovers, Brawlers, Technicians, Japanese Juniors, etc. So, as you can see, a wide assortment of wrestling styles already forming.

 

WAR PRODUCT

The wrestling product of WAR is one who uses tough, hard-hitting, hard-nosed in-ring action as a backbone. Fused with this grit-your-teeth kind of action is the importance placed upon telling stories in and out of the ring. This doesn't mean you'll see an SE approach outright (as the comedy aspect and general "weirdness" of such a product is not there). It's more like what you would have saw (story-wise) from WCW in its prime; we care about the action; however, we're going to have stories to get you to "buy in."

 

In a way, I like to look at WAR as an action movie taking place in the ring. The wrestlers who compete between the ropes in WAR are "alpha figures" (as you would see in an action movie). They're ready for a fight and unwilling to back down (especially when their motivations are pulled in).

As you can see, comedy (a staple of "SE" wrestling) is all the way down at "very low." I still want there to be aspects; however, it's not a controlling factor. We have a "super hero" comedy character in the company; so, I wanted to reserve the potential for some humorous moments.

 

The development of a women's division brings me to my next big topic.

 

WAR HEROINE DIVISION

In the end, I decided upon the word "Heroine" for my women's division because, by definition, it means:

 

"a woman admired or idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities."

 

That is EXACTLY what I was looking for in this division. You're not going to get a "beauty contest" out of the Heroine Division. This is about beautiful women (in some, not all cases though) who can "go" in the ring & are willing to get their hands dirty as a competitor. I'm a huge fan of Ronda Rousey and wanted to pattern my division after her (beauty and ability).

 

COMPANY SIZE

Wrestling Action in Revolt will be only at a "small" size (which will be covered further in additional posts). That said, it's important to note as it pushes the roster to have an overness somewhere between F- and E- depending upon their character/contribution to the industry so far.

 

ROSTER UNVEIL

The roster unveil for WAR will be coming in the next week or so. I still have a few characters coming in; so, I wanted to make sure I had a true "snapshot" before I start to explain where we are going with this company (and its wrestlers).

...Changing the subject, I am excited to be collaborating with E-V and all the other users with WAR. LAX Wrestling was a really cool experience and it was great to see our creations and character ideas come to life. My only wish is that WAR can last for a longer time than LAX.

I don't get the need for drama, personally. People stop and start their dynasties? That's on them, isn't it? If you're burned or burnt out by it, then sure you've got the right to stop following their works. But online harassment? What good does that do anyone?

 

Anyway, looking forward to the dynasty, E-V. And I'm quite curious to see what Adam came up with, considering he, you know, invented C-Verse. Perhaps a female Cornell cousin, to carry the Heroine division forward? (Wouldn't mind that actually, we need more female super-talents, IMO).

I'm actually a bit concerned about the women's division, honestly. The problem I always have with starting a women's promotion in the game is that all the real quality talent is already hired, and there's not enough depth to build a roster without just duplicating QAW and AAA.

BUDDY GARNER/WAR CREATOR

Before we get into the roster, I wanted to talk about the man who developed Wrestling Action in Revolt. After a hiatus from the sport due to the birth of his daughter, Buddy Garner returns to professional wrestling in a big way; creating a small start-up promotion based out of his home-base of Las Vegas, NV. Knowing the city already had a "big fight feel" (both boxing and MMA), Garner used his influence on the city in which to secure financial backers in his corner (Starting capital of $250,000). In doing so, he sought the best and brightest young talent in the South-West region (going on a scouting trip to locate anyone and everyone who may be able to keep up with the "WAR Way").

 

As the dynasty starts, you'll see that Garner has created a "Warrior Code" much like what we see in the early years of ROH. It's done in which to promote the competitive nature (and realism) of the sport. I'm planning on having infractions against his code being much like a normal sport (a la being fined or suspended for their actions). This way, there's a very strong line between what is considered to be "acceptable and unacceptable" by WAR standards. To me, this is an extension of what Buddy Garner (and WAR) is all about.

 

I plan on having Buddy Garner wrestle; however, I'm leaning toward a "Semi-Active" scenario. I want to use his overness and ability to A) drive fans in the doors, B) help the young talent of the roster develop, and C) set the tone of the company as a whole. I'm not 100% sold how this will go quite yet though.

 

Overall, It's expected that everyone will KNOW he's the owner; however, he's not going to be one of those "power hungry/Vince McMahon" figures. He's a wrestler who happens to own a wrestling company; not really a "suit." Plus, with terrible entertainment skills, I see Garner naming an authority figure of sorts -- like a "G.M."

THE MORRISON EVENT CENTER

The Morrison Event Center is a small entertainment complex used for a variety of performances (a la music concerts, theatre performances, and small sporting events). While quite modern, only built 9 years ago, the center has struggled to gain traction amongst the “heavy hitters” in the Las Vegas region. It’s location, a mile off of the strip, places it in a decent location; however, too far to really pull in the average strip goer looking for something to do. Knowing this, the board of directors at the Morrison Event Center are looking for any possibility to draw new people through their doors; a fact that bodes well for Buddy Garner and his upstart in WAR.

 

Seating 400 people regularly, the Morrison Event Center provides an apt location for WAR events (with the anticipated crowd size for a WAR event being between 300-400 people). With this, and the relative location to the strip, Buddy Garner has put forth a verbal agreement to house all of his events for the foreseeable future at the up-and-coming center.

 

The inside is your typical community event center. There are white poles running along the ceiling as a way of reinforcing the space (as well as hanging sports banners). In addition, the walls are brick and present a strong “old school” feel to the location overall. Finally, the concession stand is built in, in the corner of the space, and has a wide arrange of foods you would find at any sporting event. Finally, the floor is cement (making it easy to add the surface needed for any event).

 

ROSTER UNVEIL

By my calculations, I plan to have the roster unveil take close to 11-12 days. This would have 2 wrestlers unveiled each day and would allow for there to be a specific focus on both guys (or girls) before moving onto the next one.

 

At this point, I have a few creators who are about to send in their creations and, once that is done, I plan to start posting soon thereafter.

Brooklyn Jay

is a very attractive young high-flyer from New York who is notable for being the only woman known to do a 630. As a former diver, her other top rope moves draw raves from the fans for their creativity. It is the other facets of her offense that lag; she has almost no ground game to speak of. In the locker room, Brooklyn can be counted on to be the life of the party. With her former life as an athlete keeping her from enjoying much of anything social, the life of a professional wrestler has provided Brooklyn with the opportunity to spread her wings. She is the reported Queen of the Nightlife backstage, often organizing the night's post-show activities for the entire locker room.

A Sambo champion by the age of 21,

Viktor Romanov

was expected to transition into MMA. A couple years of training and several dominant amateur victories were followed by him walking away from MMA. While Romanov won't discuss it, rumors persist that he was disgusted by the presence of organized crime in MMA through Russia and Europe. With a wealthy family able to support him, Romanov transitioned to professional wrestling. His ultra-realistic mat work, submissions, and strikes make him perfect for puroresu. And while he rumored to be a fan of Japanese pro wrestling, family connections took him to the United States, where he is bound to catch the eye of one of the big North American promotions.

 

The Russian has a unique look - solid and thick but not overly muscular. With an ice cold demeanor, he is rather menacing. Paired with a manager, he could go far.

Jason White

is former karateka and MMA fighter from Florida who, after failing to make a mark in MMA industry, decided to switch into show wrestling business instead.

 

So far he haven´t made any real mark on his two year career but he has managed to build a reputation of a solid in-ring performer who´s offence is based mostly on kicks and punches.

Unfortunately, he is quite bland and that combined to his poor entertainment skills might hurt his chances in wrestling business.

is a high flying cruiserweight from Atlanta, Georgia who is hoping to make a name for himself in the coming years thanks to his superb high flying skills and risk taking. Unfortunately, early in Mason's career, he was viewed as a tag-team specialist and hasn't had a chance to break out in singles competition until now.

 

Being well traveled and fluent in spanish and english has helped Jett get jobs not only in North America but in Mexico, Canada and small tour of Europe.

Christina "Queen B(itch)" Johnson

is a young female wrestler from Detroit, MI. Known for her explosive attitude, both in and outside of the ring, Queen B has quickly made a name for herself as one of the, as she says, "toughest bitches out there." Truthfully, it's hard to go against the claim as she really IS a force to be reckoned with.

 

Her in-ring approach is rather stiff in nature and utilizes a number of powerful strikes to break down her opponents. More or less, she's not there to 'rassle'; she's there to FIGHT. Knowing this, Queen B's approach often feels like a violent street fight than a wrestling match (pulling hair, tossing opponents BY their hair, choking them, and doing whatever it takes to inflict pain & intimidation upon ANYONE who dare stand before her).
