[CV97] GLWF: Building The Stars of The Future

Recommended Posts

(This ISN'T replacing my HTRW dynasty, btw, I'm stupid enough to try and do two at once.)

I've been playing with this idea for a while and think it'll hopefully be quite good fun. I'm going to try playing as a Cult fed with a ton of money with the intention of building up talent with short 6-month written contracts, hoping they'll then go on to greatness.

I've started a game and played through to February, where I've got a TV deal, which starts in March. I haven't run any events yet and won't do any until after the TV deal starts, at which point I'll run a PPV every three months.

Great Lakes Wrestling Federation Product

Key: Traditional

Medium: Mainstream/Pure/Realism

Low: Modern/Hardcore/Daredevil/Lucha

The Rules:

1. All wrestlers will be signed on six month written contracts.

2. I will allow myself four 'wild card' signings who I can get from any active workers who are willing to sign with me.

3. The rest of the 28-man roster, and my entire developmental roster of 20 wrestlers, will be made up of wrestlers under 35, who aren't employed by a Cult or higher fed, and aren't Upper Midcarders, Main Eventers, or title-holders in ANY fed they're working in.

4. If, when I try to sign a wrestler, another Cult or higher fed comes in for them, I'll withdraw my offer immediately.

5. After my first four wild card picks, I will ask GDS posters to choose most of the rest of the roster. A couple of posts down from this one, I'll post a list of people available according to rule 3. The next 11 people to reply to this post can choose 2 each for me to try and sign.

6. After my initial roster is completed, I'll ask people to pick my developmental roster in a similar way. I will NOT be making signings outside of the six month period; however in the case of injuries or firings I will call someone up from development to fill a gap.

Hoping that makes sense - it should be a fun ride!

ROSTER

http://i.imgur.com/ZiaWh7u.jpg

Andy Otto - 25-year-old Otto is fairly new to the business as a wrestler but has been involved for years with local Kansas indies as a photographer. Asked to take a bump for a monster heel at a show, he enjoyed himself enough to take some serious training and has recently been picked up by Canadian fed 4C. RNG pick.

SNC7Ua6.jpg

Brent Hill - 26-year-old all-rounder Brent Hill is a former champion in CZCW, RPW and PPPW. His matches in all of those feds, and several more, have won wide acclaim and he's generally considered to be a future star. He is working a Machine gimmick. Wild card pick.

http://i.imgur.com/pylPksp.jpg

Canadian Dragon - Like Blue Sky, Can-Drag is basically living off his mask's popularity at the moment. However he's travelling around a lot and is picking up bookings in the USA, Canada and Mexico. He is working an Old School Heel (Weasel) gimmick. Chosen by lukess11.

http://i.imgur.com/DZlanlO.jpg

Clark Alexander - Hawaiian technician Clark Alexander is an up and coming youngster who's looking to move to the contigious USA where he thinks he'll have more chance of making it big. He is working a Dude (Cool) gimmick. RNG pick.

http://i.imgur.com/hvarQNB.jpg

Claude Banks - Lightweight Claude Banks is just 17 years old, meaning he has plenty of time to improve. He may need all of it if he's ever to be anything special. He is working an Old School Face (Wholesome) gimmick. RNG pick.

JiKMdoZ.jpg

Daniel Cano - Luchador Daniel Cano, the Silver Warrior, has been impressing on the Mexican independent scene for a few years, but never managed to break into the bigger feds. A move to the USA has seen him get a regular gig with RPW. He is working a Loner (Realistic) gimmick. Chosen by Psycho Sam.

http://i.imgur.com/H767242.jpg

Danny Patterson - Giant British brawler Patterson is nicknamed The Tower of London with good reason - he's one of the tallest men to step into a wrestling ring. The 20-year-old isn't great in the ring yet, but can certainly improve. He is working a Giant (Brute) gimmick. Chosen by Tiberious4.

http://i.imgur.com/dyb3JxA.jpg

Deano Machino - Dean Daniels appeared to have hit the big time when he toured Japan with GCG as a rookie 12 months ago. Since then, he's not been asked back - a big blow to the 21-year-old, who's known to be a massive fan of the fed - but is rising through the ranks at both PPPW and NEW. He is working an Old School Heel gimmick. Chosen by R0x4ry.

dRtAynw.jpg

Doug Peak - Popular with other wrestlers - commonly described as "the nicest guy you'll ever be stapled in the head by" - Doug Peak has little going for him skills-wise, but makes a convincing brute or madman. He is working a Bad Ass (Brute) gimmick. Chosen by DerekB.

Lp9xF7k.jpg

Eclipse - Hotly-tipped to be a star of HGC's Cruiserweight division, 32-year-old Eclipse has everything you need to make it big as a high-flyer - except for luck. Consistently plagued by injury he was devastated, but not surprised, when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament just before signing a contract for the new federation. However he's close to full fitness now and looking to bounce back. He is working a Show Stealer (Legitimate) gimmick. Chosen by R0x4ry.

uTH5caH.jpg

Eddie Peak - The Hardcore Assassin is 3 years older than his brother Doug and while he's not going to be mistaken for the second coming of Rip Chord any time soon, he's definitely the best of the team. He is working a Bad Ass (Brute) gimmick. Chosen by DerekB.

http://i.imgur.com/e4PMPks.jpg

Giant Redwood - 31-year-old Giant Redwood is one of the most talented men in wrestling - at least when it comes to getting himself hired by federations despite a complete lack of in-ring ability or charisma. He is working a Giant (Brute) gimmick. Chosen by Tiberious4.

http://i.imgur.com/VDqdjtT.jpg

I, Butcher - Cult favourite I, Butcher, whose Shakesperean-style diary promos are getting a huge buzz, is having a fair amount of success in XPW. While psychopaths don't generally have much success in American wrestling today, there's something about the 20-year-old which says he may be an exception here. Chosen by SurfnTurf.

http://i.imgur.com/vb0Pw8N.jpg

Jake Harvey - Like Billiott, Harvey has a slightly-earlier than expected call-up from training to work PPPW shows as a result of numerous people leaving the fed. He's probably got more potential than his fellow youngster, though - the 18-year-old could go far. He is working an Old School Face (Wholesome) gimmick. Chosen by MHero.

http://i.imgur.com/veCZZNv.jpg

Joey Poison - Bright-haired Canadian worker Joey Poison is a student of the sport and has put on numerous good matches in 4C since signing for them in November. He is working a Ladies Man (Cool) gimmick. Chosen by Self.

zFcD8Np.jpg

Little Redwood - 24-year-old brawler Craig 'Crash' Lewis gets beaten up a lot in AMW. He's not showing that many signs that he'd be good at doing anything else, to be honest. However, his new gimmick as the little brother of Giant Redwood may just save his career. He is working a Lackey gimmick. Chosen by Arwink; alt created by Tiberious4.

http://i.imgur.com/gYfIUUT.jpg

Mad Dog Mortimer - 19-year-old Mortimer is a guy who seems convinced he'll never rise past opening match fodder. He's probably right, but his lack of confidence in his own ability has put him into a vicious circle - the fans seem to have picked up on his failure to believe he can be successful, and it's given them the same impression of him. Perhaps a new gimmick would help? He is working a That 70s Guy gimmick. Chosen by arwink.

http://i.imgur.com/NHnkDe7.jpg

Mean Jean Cattley - Perhaps the best of the recent crop of youngsters to make his debut in PPPW, Cattley is mainly a jobber for them but got a huge victory last month as he rolled up Stuart Ferdinand for the three. While it was a flash pinfall Ferdinand also made him look a real threat for much of the match and the booking's being taken as a sign that management are extremely high on the 19-year-old. He is working a Country Singer (Realistic) gimmick. Chosen by xendarii.

http://i.imgur.com/Xzh0qNp.jpg

Panda Mask - Harrison Hash spent 18 months as a bland character struggling to connect with the crowd until he lost a 'loser must wear a mask of the opponent's choice' bout in a small indie fed in British Columbia. While the winner of the bout thought he'd embarass Hash at the next show by presenting him with the giant panda head, the crowd loved it and he decided to wear it wherever he went. The decision seems to have paid off; he's becoming a cult favourite in RPW. Chosen by Self.

http://i.imgur.com/PUYUR8P.jpg

Raul Darkness - While brother Jay is making a name for himself as a singles star in NEW, Raul is happy to stay as one half of the Darkness Warriors in DAVE. Raul is one of the better workers in DAVE's undercard at psychology - he actually thinks careful about the ideal moment to set someone on fire. He is working a Monster (Weird) gimmick. Chosen by xendarii.

http://i.imgur.com/EGzMfzO.jpg

Rich Money - High on everyone's list of 'potential future stars', the 21-year-old light heavyweight is drawing the ire of fans in both NEW and NYCW. His tag team of Hankering For Money, with Hollywood Hank, recently received their first shot at the NYCW titles by the simple means of walking down the ring prior to Wiley Coyote's match with The Working Men and handing over a roll of bills to the Working Men in exchange for their place in the match. Thankfully for the fans, it wasn't a successful challenge, but Money will be sure to bounce back soon. He is working a City Slicker gimmick. Chosen by lukess11.

http://i.imgur.com/4M6Hul0.jpg

Rico Santana - 34-year-old Hawaiian Santana is a popular competitor in his native state who's achieved, if not worldwide fame, then at least made a little bit of an impact in the USA with the SWF, Canada with NOTBPW, and Japan with PGHW. A submissions specialist, he lacks charisma but is capable of excellent matches. He is working a Fan Favourite (Wholesome) gimmick. Wild card pick.

http://i.imgur.com/U5I5RAa.jpg

Tate Lyall - California cruiserweight Tate Lyall is a popular worker with CZCW fans, having appeared on every card since his debut in 1993, and with other workers - he has a reputation as a truly nice guy backstage. He is working a Happy-Go-Lucky (Cool) gimmick. Chosen by MHero.

http://i.imgur.com/RIbwDSM.jpg

Tayler Morton - 19-year-old Canadian rookie Tayler Morton is one of the hottest prospects in CZCW - a fed which has more than a few guys who look likely to impress later in their careers. A very good high flyer for his age, Morton recently had a mask made and just needs to find a great name to go with the new look. He is working a Raging Bull (Legitimate) gimmick. Chosen by Psycho Sam.

http://i.imgur.com/t40i2IW.jpg

The Shadow - The Shadow - 34-year-old brawler The Shadow seemed to have disappeared from the business after a 3-year-run with NYCW - in fact, he was serving time after a wrongful assault conviction. Released thanks to new evidence which proved him innocent, he's now making a comeback in XFW. He is working a Street Fighter (Realistic) gimmick. RNG pick.

http://i.imgur.com/1hdQOCH.jpg

Whippy The Clown - 21-year-old Nathan Priest is a decent wrestler with a bright future ahead of him; he seems to have kicked it up a notch since creating the character of Whippy The Clown and adding white make-up to the green hair and beard he's had since he was at college. A really fun act to watch, Priest's technical knowledge is often underestimated because of the gimmick but he's a solid worker. He is working a Clown (Gimmicky) gimmick. Chosen by surfnturf.

http://i.imgur.com/HmKMlzw.jpg

Womanizer Robbie Gordon - 13 years after leaving the SWF under a serious cloud, with allegations that he'd got friendlier with Richard Eisen's wife than his boss had ever been himself, Gordon makes a shock return to wrestling. Officially, the 48-year-old is the GLWF's new colour commentator. Unofficially, rumour has it he's ready to lace up the boots one more time. He is working a Ravishing gimmick. Wild card pick.

http://i.imgur.com/bQ1ElUt.jpg

Yosuke Narito - One of the greatest wrestlers of the decade so far, Narito is a star in Japan who's twice won Wrestler of the Year in the past 7 years. His presence in the GLWF is a big boost for the fed, as he's believed to be a likely signing for a major American federation in the near future, having done well in Mexico for several years. He is working a Martial Artist (Realistic) gimmick. Wild card pick

Staff

yJN9oWA.jpg

Bob Johnson - Former SWF announcer Bob Johnson's high wage demands mean that he's worked few dates since leaving the world's biggest company, but the GLWF definitely aren't short of money so are happy to pay him whatever he wants.

http://i.imgur.com/NrGY5lq.jpg

Boss Man Brayfield - Well-known in his native Texas, Jackson 'Boss Man' Brayfield is new to the Great Lakes, but has been brought in as head booker and on-screen authority figure.

http://i.imgur.com/ghemn4y.jpg

Crippler Ray Kingman - 50-year-old Ray Kingman won Wrestler of the Year less than 10 years ago, but while many of his contemporaries are still competing, he's been forced to retire by numerous injuries. While his son Barry continues his legacy, Ray has been doing occasional road agent work and is stepping into that role full-time for the GLWF.

http://i.imgur.com/lI48F41.jpg?1

Emma Chase - Beautiful and brilliant on the mic, Emma Chase is one of the hottest women in wrestling in EVERY sense of the world. She'll be on colour for the GLWF, although like fellow commentator Robbie Gordon, rumours abound that her influence won't stop there.

http://i.imgur.com/KSyWf3a.jpg?1

Floyd Goldworthy - 31-year-old manager Floyd Goldworthy is one of the best talkers outside the big two in America. After a four year spell managing Krusher Karloff in PPPW, he's been brought into GLWF where he'll reveal who he's aligned with soon. He is working an Executive Consultant gimmick.

http://i.imgur.com/gxxhCY5.jpg

Larry Grubbs - Sleazy lounge lizard Larry Grubbs is good at playing his character, perhaps because it's an extension of his real-life personality. 13 years ago he was an SWF manager, but couldn't keep himself family-friendly enough for Eisen's liking.

http://i.imgur.com/DHvBpqo.jpg

Matthew White - Canadian referee Matthew White is boring, but great at his job.

Reserved for developmental roster

Blackjack Robbins - Coming late to wrestling, 32-year-old Blackjack Robbins had some success in the Texas Wrestling League, mainly teaming with Whisky Jack. His move to XFW after the closure of TWL hasn't gone well, with 1 draw and 11 losses in his first 12 contests.

Christopher Hart - 22-year-old Christopher Hart certainly has the looks to make it big. There's been lots of suggestions that the SWF are interested in bringing him in, but the closest he's come so far is a PPA with NEW, their development fed.

Inky The Squid Boy - 19-year-old cruiserweight Inky The Squid Boy may have a fairly dumb gimmick but is doing surprisingly well for himself, with RPW fans taking to him and Hinote Dojo recently picking him up for a tour. While he loses far more often than he wins in both feds, he's certainly making progress as a worker.

JJ Coles - Coles is just breaking into the business and despite a cool biker gimmick, is struggling to win over the hard-to-impress DAVE crowds. In NEW, he's having slightly more success. His willingness to stand and brawl with much bigger men may eventually get him over in DAVE as well.

Jesse Gilbert - 16-year-old cruiserweight Jesse Gilbert is CZCW's joint youngest wrestler, alongside his twin brother Joe. The pair use a hockey-inspired gimmick which practically scream 'midcard at best', but there's plenty of time for them to ditch that and their natural understanding and the obvious potential for quick switches to confuse referees (if Joe has a shave, at least) may give them work.

Jimmy Cox - Jimmy Cox is an athletic and fairly intelligent wrestler who has developed one of the best finishers in recent memory, the Immortal Driver. He seemed to be getting a decent push in XFW, executing the double-underhook facebuster onto a chair on numerous jobbers late last year, but recent bad fortune has stalled him somewhat.

Joe Gilbert - 16-year-old cruiserweight Joe Gilbert is CZCW's joint youngest wrestler, alongside his twin brother Jesse. The pair use a hockey-inspired gimmick which practically scream 'midcard at best', but there's plenty of time for them to ditch that and their natural understanding and the obvious potential for quick switches to confuse referees (if Joe has a shave, at least) may give them work.

Moose Mulder - While he's only really seen working in shows in the Prairies, the legend of Dirk 'Moose' Mulder has spread through Canada. The 29-year-old is said to have leapt out of the ring when a rampaging moose charged into an outdoor show, dropping it with a single punch as it charged at a young girl. While the hit was apparently so hard it shattered the animal's antlers, no photographic evidence of the incident has ever been provided.

Morpheus - 23-year-old Morpheus hasn't been picked up by the SWF yet, but it's surely a matter of time. Working dates for their development company NEW, as well as NYCW, he's got a great look and his gimmick - a well-spoken businessman who turns into a raging monster when the bell rings - is simple enough to go down well with their fans.

Pete The Hillbilly - 29-year-old Pete The Hillbilly isn't likely to win award for great wrestling but his good-natured, easily-fooled farm boy character has gone down well with RPW fans. He does the basics fairly well, and his size is a selling point.

Richard Blood - After making a name for himself in his native Hawaii, Richard Blood recently moved to Sacramento and has been picking up indie bookings up and down the west coast. Despite just a year's worth of experience, he placed #414 on the prestigious Power 500 and has clearly got a good future ahead of him.

Rumble Roper - 29-year-old brawler Rudy Roper has never broken out of the indies, but six years working up and down the west coast of America mean he's fought some of the hottest up-and-comers in the business. While his win-loss record is nothing to write home about, he's become a reasonable worker thanks to matches with the likes of Brent Hill, Steve Flash and The Moving Target.

Skeeter Colquhoun - Dominican Skeeter Colquhoun isn't a great wrestler, but has had some successful nights on the indie circuit thanks to a certain amount of charisma. These have led to him being recently picked up by NEW, where he's jobbing a lot, and PDW where he seems to be more in line for a push, with an impressive win over Black Eagle in his last match being the highlight of his year and six months there.

The Black Knight - 19-year-old brawler Grant Truman could do with either a new ring name or a costume that played up to his name. As it is, it seems excessively gimmicky for a fairly bland worker. That said, he's very keen to improve and spends a lot of time watching tapes from all over the world - he certainly has the dedication to make it big.

The Wizard of Ottawa - A favourite on the Canadian indie circuit, Dace Lavoie is an entertaining talker and reasonably okay wrestler who has a fun RPG-inspired gimmick.

UK Dragon - Steven Ambrose, the UK Dragon, is perhaps the third best-known British lightweight out there (behind fellow RPW wrestler Phantom Zero and the biggest name of them all, Cliff 'Dark Angel' Wilson.) The 21-year-old has made something of a name for himself in RPW as a good wrestler and a great party guy - he's the life and soul of social situations but, perhaps rarely for a wrestler with that sort of reputation, never gets too out of control or drinks enough to affect his performance in the ring.

Vin Tanner - Vin Tanner's aged just 29 but has already been wrestling for over a decade, with 4 years spent in DAVE. The V Man does what nearly everyone else in the fed does - hits people with foreign objects a lot - but does it with more style than many people on the roster.

Whisky Jack - In a three-year career so far, it seems unlikely that Whisky Jack has actually had TIME to be thrown out of a party in every major city in America. That's not to say he won't achieve this boast at some point, though. The Tennessee brawler is better at drinking than wrestling, to be honest.

Anyone with bios deleted is because I've already signed them and they're now on the roster section. (I've left names there to avoid confusion with the pictures.)

Anyone in italics is NOT interested in signing a developmental deal.

1ejT5tF.jpg

Aaron Mustafa - The 29-year-old they call The Hardcore Killah has overcome his lack of both wrestling skills AND charisma to become surprisingly over with the bloodthirsty XFW crowds. He's a brawler of little use in any match going over 10 minutes, though.

Andy Otto

Benjamin Moore - Moore can't wrestle very well but is gaining a reputation as perhaps the craziest guy in XFW against some VERY stiff competition. In particular, his somersault plancha to put Madman Boone through a table, leaving both men bleeding profusely, is talked about by all of their fans as one of the greatest spots they've seen. He's also a seriously nice guy.

Blackjack Robbins

Blue Sky - 21-year-old Blue Sky has a cool mask, but not necessarily much else going for him, although he's popular backstage. RPW and PDW fans seem fairly indifferent to him so far.

Brian Bounds - 19-year-old Brian Bounds is a former amateur wrestler looking to make his fortune as a pro. He's got off to a reasonably good start in 4C, but his lack of passion for the business has already rubbed a few people up the wrong way backstage.

Canadian Dragon

Canadian Superstar II - Jackson Andrews's fame as Canadian Superstar so impressed Drew Stevens that he managed to come up with a very similar mask and get some bookings as CS II, claiming to promoters he'd got permission from the veteran. It worked well for a few months but when Andrews heard of it he was incensed, as were numerous others - in fact, even mild-mannered Steve Flash took it on himself to teach Superstar a lesson in a squash match for CGC, adding more pressure than was strictly necessary to a Boston Crab. It's unlikely CS II will be picked up again in Canada.

Chris Caulfield - 22-year-old Chris Caulfield is a hard-working lifelong wrestling fan. His workrate and passion should be enough to get him to the top, but 'smart' DAVE fans know that he's best friends with owner Phil Vibert and there's significant bad feeling towards him because of this.

Chris Perkins - Everyone's favourite jobber, Chris Perkins stunned Tom Gilmore at CZCW Revolution with a roll-up for his first ever win! The lightweight, trained by the entire CZCW roster, is a fan favourite but it was starting to look like he'd never get a victory.

db6Ul1y.jpg

Christopher Hart

Clark Alexander

Claude Banks

Corey Smith - Corey Smith worked his way down the entire East coast trying to find a job with no luck, but got good enough at backstage politics that when he made his way across to Texas he got several bookings there. He's horrifically bad in the ring, though.

Craig Green - The 'King of Clubs' is looking to bring his rebellious clubber gimmick to the notice of either CGC or NOTBPW, figuring it should be ready-made heat in either fed, given how traditional they are.

Crash Lewis

Dan Billiott - An exile of talent from PPPW recently has given 18-year-old brawler Dan Billiott the chance for an earlier call-up from training than he could have expected. His matches haven't been pretty, but there's plenty of time for him to improve.

Daniel Cano

Daniel Gallant - 18-year-old Canadian cruiserweight Daniel Gallant is about a third as good as he thinks he is. Fortunately, he's so arrogant that that's still pretty good.

Danny Patterson

tkIJCyU.jpg

Danny Rushmore - After five years stampeding wrestlers in the fading Texas Wrestling League, it was expected Rushmore would quickly be picked up when the fed closed its doors. Surprisingly, he wasn't hired by anyone for a while, but 18 months working the indie shows came to an end when NEW hired him. He's recently formed a tag team with Christopher Hart, the World Beaters, which looks impressive.

Dead Bolt - 6'6 brawler Dead Bolt is only 19 and a lack of training shows at times, but he has size, which can't be taught. New York fans are already wary of his chokeslam, which has wiped out a number of their favourites over recent months.

Deano Machino

Dog Fyte - Darryl Freeman looks out of place at some times in Canada; even NOTBPW thought he was too stiff after he jobbed a couple of times in dark matches for them. His puroresu influenced style may go down better in Japan, perhaps?

Doug Peak

Eclipse

Eddie Peak

Edwin D Bashford - While Bashford is an opening match worker in NYCW, he's building popularity quickly in AMW, where his rich pretty boy gimmick is drawing nuclear heat as he constantly wins matches by paying men like Mighty Thor to beat up his opponents for him, then making cocky pins for the victory.

Elmer 'Everest' Kelly - The gigantic Elmer Kelly, aged 23 and weighing 491 pounds, is clumsy and has little going for him in the ring - but his sheer bulk means plenty of smaller feds will give him a go.

Flex - DeColt Power House graduate Flex, aged 21, impressed his trainees - but not enough to get a full-time contract. Told to head to the States to get some experience after a few months working opening matches, he's hoping to find his way back to CGC in the future.

XAZXaCo.jpg

Frank Tucker - Charismatic cruiserweight Frank Tucker hasn't quite managed to turn his dancing gimmick into something that really connects with the 4C crowd yet, but may be able to get it over given enough time - there's the spark of potential greatness there.

Giant Redwood - 31-year-old Giant Redwood is one of the most talented men in wrestling - at least when it comes to getting himself hired by federations despite a complete lack of in-ring ability or charisma.

Hector Davoren - 17-year-old Hector Davoren has the attitude to be a success. He just doesn't have the skills, look or charisma.

Henry Bennett - Henry Bennett is a decent brawler in a bar room situation - something he's shown on numerous occasions, as he has a fairly quick temper. Put him in the ring and he has more trouble, tending to stiff his opponents.

I, Butcher

Inky The Squid Boy

JJ Coles

Jack Giedroyc - While he's wrestled solely for MOSC since making his debut nearly two years ago, Jack Giedroyc is keen to travel the world. With a decent look and a nice mix of brawling and high-flying to call on, it wouldn't be a major surprise if he found himself either in the States or Canada relatively soon - possibly in 4C, where Joey Poison, a distant cousin who he's recently got back in touch with, is having some success.

Jake Harvey

James Sinclair - The younger brother of Big Smack Scott, James has a similar personality but a worse look - his refusal to hit the gym more than once a month means the steroids he takes leave him looking bloated rather than muscular. He's surely not someone with much of a chance to succeed in the business?

Uu4va8d.jpg

Jesse Gilbert

Jimmy Cox

Joe Gilbert

Joey Poison - Bright-haired Canadian worker Joey Poison is a student of the sport and has put on numerous good matches in 4C since signing for them in November.

Johnny Highspot - English high-flyer Johnny Highspot is said to have crossed the Atlantic to get away from the wrath of the Steamroller after accidentally drinking his tea during an MOSC card. He's fitting right into XFW thanks to his death-defying leaps.

Jungle Jack - While he's sidelined until around the end of March with a quadriceps strain, Jack Marlowe is a top prospect for the future. The big brawler is more athletic than the majority of men his size and has a natural connection with the fans which is rocketing him up the card in both NYCW and RPW.

Keita Fukao - Five years after a good run with BHOTWG as a youngster, Fukao has finally found his way to the USA. He's an athletic cruiserweight whose experience in Japan's biggest fed shows he has potential, but has struggled to find regular work since leaving them.

Kid Tiger Heart - Kid TH is a huge favourite of fans in Puerto Rico and the South East, willing to put his body on the line for them with incredible manouevres. His ease in putting other people's bodies on the line with those same high-risk moves, however, mean he's less than popular with his fellow workers.

Konrad Muldoon - 30-year-old Canadian Mulroon is a consumate pro who's wrestled many of Canada's top stars. He hasn't lasted more than 8 minutes against any of them, admittedly, and in the outings he has had has done little to suggest he's particularly likely to end up in NOTBPW or CGC.

Leo Davis - Davis's career highlight so far was being one half of the last ever TWL tag champions, pairing with EZ Ryder to win the belts six months before the fed closed, with few talented workers left there. While Ryder has gone on to some success under the name Wiley Steinway, teaming with Coyote Dynamite to win gold in NYCW, Leo went a year without a steady job and is now playing a homeless bum gimmick in AMW.

SgYlwQr.jpg

Little Bill Lebowski - Tiny 22-year-old scrapper Lebowski made his TWL debut at the age of just 17 and was there until the end of the fed 3 years later. Since then his career has stalled a bit and joining the seemingly-doomed AMW probably wasn't the best way to attempt to kickstart it.

Lucas Hale - Hale's debut for DAVE earned a rare standing ovation from a fanbase not easily impressed by rookies as the 18-year-old lightweight lasted 10 minutes undergoing brutal punishment from Johnny Martin before finally being pinned after a top rope DDT onto Martin's Extreme Title. While many thought he had a bright future with the fed, he was surprisingly released just a few weeks later.

Madman Boone - Big brawler Ian 'Madman' Boone is a fine specimen of a man physically and is willing to do whatever it takes to impress the AMW and XFW fans. That generally involves hitting people with chairs, putting them through tables, or unleashing his Singapore cane.

Marcus L Reinoso - Reinoso is a go-to guy if you want someone who can throw himself off things in interesting and unusual ways. If you want someone who can wrestle, he's less essential.

Mean Jean Cattley

Michael Cook - Only in DAVE could a man become massively disliked by the fanbase for NOT attacking people with chairs. While Cook will stand and bang with the best of them, his amateur background means he disdains the use of foreign objects and his technical matches are a masterpiece of giving the fans what they DON'T want to see. Of course, this means that when someone can get out of his submission holds and put him through a table, they get a huge pop.

Mick Muscles - 21-year-old Vermont bodybuilder Mick Muscles has one of the most impressive physiques in wrestling, and - despite rumours to the contrary - claims it's all natural rather than as a result of steroids. He certainly has the look to do well, while his ability isn't great but is far from terrible.

Moose Mulder

Morpheus

Nathan Black - The slowest man in 4C's cruiserweight division, the Black Dog has risen to prominence in some good matches against Joey Poison, Frank Tucker and Daniel Gallant as they try to unleash their high-risk moves on him while he aims to keep them grounded and work over their legs.

Oscar - A man of many gimmicks, currently working as Hollywood Hank in NYCW, Oscar doesn't have anything special about him but is a competent professional who generally makes people he faces look pretty good. The 22-year-old isn't someone you'd expect to see making a name for himself as a megastar, but shouldn't have trouble finding employment - everyone needs decent jobbers at some point.

Pecs - Mexican brawler Pecs is just 21 but has been wrestling once or twice a month for five years since he first moved to Puerto Rico. He's not showy and doesn't quite connect with the crowd yet but he's got an impressive grasp of psychology for someone his age and may well be a decent hand for years to come.

Peregrino Soto - 20-year-old cruiser Peregrino Soto, a Mexican brought up in New York, wrestles something of a luchador style but with added brawling. It's gone down well with Tri-State fans and arguably makes him more likely to succeed in the States than more traditional lucha workers are.

Pete The Hillbilly

Phil Templeton - Moving to the USA from Northern Ireland recently, Templeton has just finished basic training and is looking to make a name for himself. A firm SWF fan, he's desperate to find his way to Eisen's fed eventually - although unkind observers may have a point when they suggest buying front row tickets is the nearest he'll get to an SWF ring.

Psycho - British brawler Ernest Flores has been entertaining the MOSC faithful with great promos and so-so matches for half a decade. He's now talking about travelling the world.

Randall Hopkirk - A 14-year veteran at the age of just 32, Hopkirk is a charismatic and incredibly tough brawler. It's probably too late for him to ever make it as a big star, but he's a dependable worker, particularly in hardcore matches.

Randall The Vandal - Ten-year-pro Randall The Vandal is a reasonably entertaining brawler who's not great in the ring but gets by on some charisma, particularly a natural talent at playing weaselly heels.

Rich Money

Richard Blood

Rolling Johnny Stones - While fans of the British indie scene know just how good Rolling Johnny Stones is, others may get to see him for the first time soon. The charismatic 23-year-old has talked about moving to either the States or Japan shortly to gain more experience.

Roy Stephens - Freddie Datsun's young friend has spent a lot of time getting his ass kicked in DAVE, often running to his hero's defence. The fans don't hate him, but they do seem to get a kick out of seeing him get beaten up.

Rumble Roper

Shawn Chase - 20-year-old rookie Shawn Chase is currently working the SoCal indie scene without making too much of an impact. A natural babyface, he's hoping to get a break soon, but repeated try-outs with CZCW haven't led to a long-term deal.

Skeeter Colquhoun

Smokey Joe - 23-year-old brawler Smokey Joe is currently making a name for himself in both AMW and XFW. He comes down to the ring drinking cans of beer (and, for a big match, sometimes a bottle of vodka) before wailing away on his opponent with brutal strikes. They're hardly precision shots, but they definitely look painful.

Snap Dragon - 20-year-old lightweight Snap Dragon has looked impressive in RPW despite a lack of ticks in the win column of his record. Matches with men like Steve Flash, Brent Hill and Jungle Jack have received great applause from the fans as he's made his opponents look great while also hitting some nice moves himself.

Tate Lyall

Tayler Morton

The Black Knight

The Masked Mauler - As a character, the Masked Mauler has been around for nearly two decades, with the first ever NYCW match seeing Lefty Jenson powerslam the masked man for the victory. However it's not just one guy who's used the gimmick - the current Mauler is the 5th to have donned the hood, having first done so six years ago.

The Shadow

The Wizard of Ottawa

UK Dragon

Vin Tanner

Whippy The Clown

After a slight delay last night as I tried to figure out graphics, we have our 90 potential hires listed a couple of posts up! Help me put together a roster, people. Please pick 2 guys you'd like to see competing in GLWF!

(The 'wild card' picks, btw, are Womaniser Robbie Gordon, Brent Hill, Rico Santana and Yosuke Narita - assuming they all sign for me.)

While negotiations continue with numerous stars, the GLWF are proud to announce their first signings! We welcome on board Little Redwood (Crash Lewis), Brent Hill, Daniel Cano, Eclipse, and The Peak Brothers!

(Roster page updated, including who chose them and what gimmick they're working. A big thank you to Tiberious4 who created an awesome Crash Lewis alt after we talked about Redwood in chat.)

Anyone else want to pick anybody? 9 spaces left, the last 2 of which I'm planning on using an RNG for.

Thanks for picking, all! I RNG'd the last four in the end and got:

The Shadow

Clark Alexander

Claude Banks

Andy Otto

Should be a really fun roster!

I'm also looking for 22 guys for my developmental fed, so if you'd like to choose 2 wrestlers to get developmental deals (whether or not you previously picked anyone) you're very welcome to.

Although not on the list and a true cancer, Todd "The Hype" Cusson is THE man. He is talented, can talk, and can surely fill any void left by leaps and bounds. I know he won't be snatched up by ya but an honorable mention for sure. Along with that mention is Emma Chase(unemployed and awesome).

Picks for me would be Morpheus, a monster and could easily rule the dev fed. I'd pair him with Christopher Hart as I have a feeling they'd be a nice tag team. Morpheus the cool calm ass kicker and Hart as pure dominating muscle.
