Tuesday Week 4, November 2006 From ShowReports.com
Steve Flash showed why he’s the champ and why Steven parker is still on the lower card. The two did work well together though and the crowd enjoyed the match. The Canadian Clash led to a pinfall at ½ past 6 minutes. Steve Flash over Steven Parker Rating: C Julian Watson took on Canadian Gangsta and stood his own. The match itself led a bit to be desired but the fans did enjoy the overhead flip slam and the pin at just slightly over 19 minutes. Julian Watson over Canadian Gangsta Rating: D The ladder match could have been a bit better but mostly because Cal Sanders seemed a little of his game. Raphael took the belt at just over 17 minutes after launching Cal Sanders to off another ladder and out to ring side. Raphael over Cal Sanders Ladder Match Rating: C- Phenomenal E. took to the ring before his match with Terry Smith to speak about Nathan Black. He said that even tough they were both losers of the semi finals that as winner of the best of seven against Nate Johnson that he’s assured he’ll take the win. Rating: D Phenomenal E. did take the win but not in the way he would have liked it to happen. Nathan Black came in with a foreign object and hit him upside the head. The Ref called for the DQ at a little over 13 minutes. Phenomenal E. over Nathan Black Rating: C- Joey Poison talked to Terry Smith before his match about Alan Parent and their match last week he said he beat him once and he’s gonna beat him again and with a no DQ match Parent can’t whine when he loses/ Rating: D The match lost a little flow in the middle as Parent seemed to forget some of the injuries he’d take earlier but all in all it wasn’t half bad. Joey Poison did pick up the win at almost 22 minutes after the Lethal Injection. Joey Poison over Alan Parent No DQ Match Rating: C- The final match of the tournament was a fan favorite as Dog Fyte and Tim Westyrbook put on an incredible brawl. With both men wearing each other down Dog Fyte finally took it upon himself to sneak a victory when he used the ropes for leverage for a pin at 22 and 1/2 minutes. Tuesday Week 4, December 2006 From ShowReports.com
Canadian Gangsta destroyed Stretch the Chicken Boy in a match that had most moans and groans but no cheers. The Drive-By clothesline came way to alte at almost 13 minutes for the pin. Canadian Gangsta over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rating: E Steven Parker took down The Gremlin in a match that appeared overly scripted. 13 minutes of not so great match ended with a pin after The Future Shock. Steven Parker over The Gremlin Rating: D A slightly below par match for these two youngsters but still not as bad as the earlier ones. The match moved back and forth awhile and ended when Julian Watson got DQ’d for using a foreign object at almost 21 minutes. Raphael and Julian Watson Rating: C- The thrill seeking Phenomenal E. came to the ring a little differently today affecting a more low class degenerative attitude but the fans still dug him. The match itself dragged a little in the middle but Big E and Cal Sanders put on a decent show aside from that. The Phenomenal Leap dropped for a pin at just shy of 22 minutes. Phenomenal E over Cal Sanders Rating: C- Alan Parent took a ring attire change with a t-shirt with a pot leave on it promoting selling weed. The match itself was a bit below par as well with these two teams getting a rough start having never worked together before. After the Lethal Injection Joey Poison pinned Alan Parent at almost 13 minutes. Tim Westybrook and Joey Poison over Alan Parent and Nathan Black Rating: C- Alan Parent and Nathan Black laid a beat down on Joey poison and Tim Westybrook leaving the two in the ring. Rating: E A great match between these two top competitors but Dog Fyte couldn’t quite get one over on the champ. A few seconds before 23 minutes Flash hit the Canadian Clash and followed that up quickly with the pin. Steve Flash over Dog Fyte Rating: C+ In what seemed like an out of character sign of respect Dog Fyte shook hands with Steve Flash. Rating: D Overall Rating: C
Monday Week 1, January 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
MAW closed its doors after it’s December show leaving CZCW as the only small promotion left in the US. Rip Chord will most likely get scooped up by one of the bigger promotions now that he is free to work for them but what does this leave for the next generation of young wrestlers. Cliff Wilson has left CGC and MAW and now works an exclusive written deal for NOTBPW. Pistol Pete Hall did his last show with GCG as he begins his written contract we reported on last month with DaVE. Peter Valentine is now off the bench and has resigned with TCW after a few months of unemployment since his last contract expired. Sammy Bach was picked up by USPW on a Per Appearance contract. Bryan Holmes and Eisaku Hoshino have both left PGHW due to contract expiration. Negotiations failed with Holmes who wanted to concentrate on work in the US and with Hoshino who was asking for a little too much money. Veteran Demon Anger’s contract at TCW also expired and was not renegotiated as did Tom E. Hawk’s at USPW and Wendy Anderson’s at AAA. America The tag division at SWF might be losing one of it’s favored teams as rumour has it that Elmo Benson and Groucho Bling no longer friends due to some backstage trouble. One USPW’s top managers and defiante sex symbols Persephone had some good things to say about Jim Force when she appeared on the radio last month. Golden Delicious from AAA was on TV and apparently she and Sue Danes don’t really like each other. Not a real shock from what we’ve been seeing but still news. Mitch Naess is at it again as TCW’s new announcer. Randall Hopkirk was on the radio and he had nothing but good things to say about voice of TCW, stating firmly that the kid has all the talent he needs to go far. Canada CGC’s Steven DeColt, the top rated worker of the DeColt family, spoke last month on a local show about having behind the scenes problems with head CGC referee Francis Long. What this means for the ref's career we don’t know Mexico Former OLLIE champion El Leon put over Leonardo Cortes on local TV after big fued the two just had. New York born Simon Munoz took over as head booker and turned 4C into the only all Canadian wrestling organization (except for himself of course). Aaron Mustafa aka Hardkore Killah, Ace Youngblood, Air Attack Weasel, Barry Kingman, Brett Fraser, Calvin Dark, Darryl Devine, Duberry Excess, Jacob Jett and Warren Technique were all let go. Coincidently except for Darryl Devine not a single one has been picked up by anyone else. Al of the new additions to 4C except for Nate Johnson are still with 4C now. 2006 saw Steve Flash win the tournament to crown a new 4C Champion and still holds the title today. Nate Johnson lost a best of seven series too Phenomenal E. who has become a fan favorite here in Ontario. Dog Fyte just won the tournament to become the #1 contender and has lost his initial match against Steve Flash and lastly Joey Poison and Alan Parent have been going at it for almost a whole year. Wednesday Week 2, January 2006 From ShowReports.com
Dark Match Steven Parker took the pre-show match up, not to many fans watching but he did a decent number in a three way dance with Stretch and Gremlin. After knocking the chicken boy out of ring Parker hit the Future Shock on the Gremlin for the pin at 9 and ½ minutes. Steven Parker over Stretch the Chicken Boy and The Gremlin Rating: D Show Phenomenal E took a nice win of his own three-way. Raphael and Julian Watson held their own for awhile but they both eventually fell. Watson first and then Raphael all told 7 minutes for the Phenomenal one to pick up the win. Phenomenal E over Raphael and Julian Watson Rating: C Tough match for these two big men but “The Black Dog” could take down “The Iron Man”. Westybrook finally got off the Coal Miner’s Slam and got a pin at a bit over 11 minutes. Tim Westybrook over Nathan Black Rating: C Having lost every match including two tag matches to Joey Poison, Alana Parent made sure that everyone knew he wanted one last try as he told Terry Smith about his aspirations for a rematch. Rating: F This all out fight fest was all out Steve Flash as “The Big Dig” Dog Fyte couldn’t get a handle on him. But Fyte was a tricky opponent and he got a pin at 23 minutes too bad he had to use the ropes for leverage to do so. Dog Fyte over Steve Flash Rating: C+ Overall Rating: C+
Wednesday Week 3, January 2006 From ShowReports.com
Dark Match Young Raphael took to the ring before the crowd even really filed into the hall. He spoke to Terry Smith and talked about how he’s gonna be the next big thing here in 4C. Rating: D Raphael took on three other men and got a big win in the opening dark match of the night. The Gremlin is the one who ultimately fell to Youth Gone Wild but Canadian Psycho and Steven Parker couldn’t stop the cover and pin at 12 minutes. Raphael over The Gremlin, Steven Parker and Canadian Psycho Rating: C- Show The opening match of the actual show was a good omen for Joey Poison at 4C Presents…When the Going Gets Tough. He took Nathan Black down and made the technical star submit to the Antidote Web at 12 minutes. Joey Poison vs Nathan Black Rating: C- On the flip side Alan Parents match didn’t go all that way for Parent who was utterly dominated by Tim Westybrook so much so that he got frustrated and got DQ’d at 16 minutes by hitting Westybrook with a chair. To make matters worse the two had absolutely chemistry in the ring. Tim Westybrook over Alan Parent Rating: C- Raphael hits the ring to demand a match worthy of his talent and says he wants to take on Phenomenal E. The Big E comes out and he accepts the challenge for the small all-rounder. Rating: D Steve Flash appears to finally have gotten the right combination and lack of Dog Fyte’s underhanded tactics. Not only did “Mr. Canada” win he dominated the entire match and got off the Canadian Clash for the pin at almost 24 minutes. Steve Flash over Dog Fyte Rating: C+ Overall Rating: C
Tuesday Week 4, January 2006 From ShowReports.com
Julian Watson and Steven Parker opened the show fighting to a double count out at about 11 and ½ minutes. Julian Watson Draws Steven Parker Rating: C- Canadian Gangsta showed why he’s still a lethal force as he dominated The Gremlin. The two had great chemistry and played well off each other but the match went a little too long for both of them and it dragged a little in the middle. The Drive-By Clothesline took Gremlin down and he was pinned just shy of 12 minutes. Canadian Gangsta over The Gremlin Rating: E Raphael got his match, a ladder match at that, but he couldn’t seem to win out over Phenomenal E. The match was devastating on both sides and Big E had to practically crawl up the ladder to retrieve the winners award. All told the match took about 22 and ½ minutes. Phenomenal E. over Raphael Ladder Match Rating: C Nathan Black managed to stand toe to toe with the big man Tim Westybrook for all of 12 and ½ minutes before “The Black Dog” was smashed by the Coal Miner’s Slam. Tim Westybrook over Nathan Black Rating: C The fans weren’t as riled about this match as the last one and for good reason the two men couldn’t hold it together as well. Parent could get up from three Lethal Injections and lost the match at just over 19 and ½ minutes. Joey Poison over Alan Parent Last Man Standing Rating: C- Joey Poison excited over his win hit the crowd and celebrated with them. Tuesday Week 4, February 2006 From ShowReports.com
Ted Ross and Terry Smith take some took some time to talk about the final match up in the Best of seven series. This would determine the 4C Champion. Ted Ross in his usual New York Rangers Jersey tok up the call for Dog Fyte to be the New Champ and Terry Smith took up the banner of Steve Flash for every working Canadian. Rating: D A horrific match between the Gremlin and Stretch the Chicken Boy so bad I think that the fans actually closed their eyes during it. The Gremlin completely dominated young Stretch and put us all out of our misery at almost 12 minutes with a Gremlin Slam. The Gremlin over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rating: E Steven Parker took out Alan Parent in a decent bout. It looks like Parker will be moving up soon as he got a clean win over Parent with the Future Shock at nearing 13 minutes. Steven Parker over Alan Parent Rating: C- This was it after three matches full of DQs Raphael and Julian Watson took each other on in a NO DQ match. Both men took full advantage of this using every dirty trick in the book but it seemed that Raphael was the trickier one. The pin came at about 20 minutes after the Youth Gone Wild. Raphael over Julian Watson NO DQ Rating: D Match three of the Two out of Three series came up with a win for Phenomenal E. when Nathan Black was disqualified. Black was furious and couldn’t see why he would be called out for the simple little chair shot. All told 12 and ½ minutes of slightly below par wrestling from the two. Phenomenal E. over Nathan Black Rating: C- Joey Poison took to the ring before his match and reminded Terry Smith that the #1 contender spot was what was at stake here. With both man having a win the submission match was the deciding factor and Poison intended on being the #1 contender. Rating: D Even though both men lacked great technical skills they still put on a halfway decent match for the fan. Joey Poison was true enough to his word though at Tim Westybrook tapped out to the Antidote Web at almost 21 minutes. Joey Poison over Tim Westybrook. Submission Match Rating: C- Steve Flash was the champ when he walked in and was the champ when he walked out. Anyone who had sent he match would have old you it was obvious why he was the champ. He wiped the floor with Dog Fyte and there was nothing “The Big Dog” could do about it. The pin came after the Flash Bang at just shy of 23 minutes. Steve Flash over Dog Fyte Rating: C+ Having resigned himself to his loss Dog Fyte took the time to raise Steve Flash’s hand and celebrate the win with him Rating: D Overall Rating: C
Tim Westybrook dominated Alan Parent and won with a Coal Miner’s Slam at just shy of 18 minutes. Tim Westybrook over Alan Parent Rating: C- The new number one contender Joey Poison took on the old number one contender Dog Fyte and rocked his world. Dog Fyte having lost his get up and go after the best of seven series was completely overwhelmed by Poison. The Lethal Injection finished the job at 22 and ½ minutes. Wednesday Week 1, March 2006 From ShowReports.com
Dark Match Julian Watson continued to dominate the dark matches with another incredible win over stretch the Chicken Boy. Pinfall happened after the Overhead Flip Slam at 8 minutes. Julian Watson over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rating: D Nathan Black met up with Alan parent who has been on some what of a losing streak. The match would have went better if the two men sold it better but as is Parent got himself DQ’d after a chair shot at just shy of 8 minutes. Nathan Black over Alan Parent Rating: C- Show Opening the show was a underhanded victory by Steven Parker over Raphael. The two had an incredible rapport in the ring and played well of each other. Parker’s pin came after an unseen low blow at about 13 and ½ minutes. Steven Parker over Raphael Rating: C As Raphael was being helped out of the ring Steven Parker taunted him a bit about his loss. The crowd wasn’t into it but it moves things along. Rating: E Tim Westybrook met up with Dog Fyte in what was definitely an above average match. Both men seemed evenly matched but Tim Westybrook got the advantage and a Coal Miner’s Slam for the pin at just over 18 minutes. Tim Westybrook over Dog Fyte Rating: C+ The main event was a great opening trial bout for the champ and the number one contender. Almost 21 minutes of pure excitement from both men and if this match was any example the Joey Poison might be the new champion. The pin came after one of the best looking Lethal Injections we’ve ever seen. Joey Poison over Steve Flash Rating: B- Overall Rating: C+
Wednesday Week 2, March 2006 From ShowReports.com
Dark Match Cal Sanders is back after two months off and he’s lost the Lumberjack gear. His first match since his return and he dominated The Gremlin all over the ring. The match reminded us that these two men work really well together and if Sanders is as motivated from now on as he was in this match then he’s gonna go places. A very effective Canadian Leg breaker ended the match with a submission at 7 and ½ minutes. Cal Sanders over The Gremlin Rating: C- Alan parent looking to prove himself faced off against a very hot Julian Watson. Watson held the momentum for as long as Parent did and this frustrated “Parental Abuse” who finally took some time to blatantly cheat for a submission at almost 8 minutes. Alan Parent over Julian Watson Rating: C- Show “Black Dog” Nathan Black also one of the top contenders for the next shot at the title took the first match of the evening in great form. The match wasn’t all the great mainly do to Stretch’s lack of talent but the two did play well off each other. After a complete trouncing Stretch got caught up in a Black Out Suplex and was pinned at nearly 10 minutes. Nathan Black over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rating: D Dog Fyte took his show to the next person down the line in a match with Phenomenal E. After losing the best of seven for the titles and to Tim Westybrook last week he was a bit frustrated. When he couldn’t hold down the Phenomenal one he resorted to a alow blow and then using the ropes for leverage for a pin at not quite 18 minutes. Dog Fyte over Phenomenal E Rating: C Phenomenal E. was livid at how he lost and he challenged Dog Fyte to a series of special matches each one being different. Dog Fyte nods his acceptance of the challenge and the crowd is underwhelmed, but will the matches have the same effect. Rating: D The first match for the best of seven was about to start but Steve Flash took the time to shake with his opponent first in a show of true respect between these competitors. Rating: D Seemingly revitalized by last weeks opening bout Steve Flash truly dominated this match up agsint his younger opponent. As has been evident in every match we’ve seen between these two they certainly know how to work together. Joey Poison fell to the Canadian Clash and the pin a little over 21 and ½ minutes. Steve Flash over Joey Poison Rating: C+ Overall Rating: C
