I need a bit of assistance in starting a game on the 1970's Mod.

I want it to be a long game. I don't know enough of territories in order to keep it somewhat realistic and notjust splurge and build a super roster.

I could either go as WWWF where pretty much anything goes, good wrestling but a focus on entertainment and characters. Easier to bring in anyone I want without it taking away immersion . They are however amongst the top promotion and not much to build on.

Or I've thought about going with a NWA territory and trying to build the territory up, however to keep it somewhat real I'd need to know which guys where the main guys, which guys I could sign that would fit the promotion. I like the Look of St Louis Wrestling Club. They seem to prefer solid technical wrestling but I don't know what else? and in what direction I should take them?

I started a new company in the UK, with the hope of starting with the UK guys and slowly introducing more Americans, perhaps joining NWA. When I reach National change the name to somthing more international and bring in more foriegners to counter the lack of new UK stars going into the 80's. But somthing is always a drawback from continuing.

So I enjoy being handcuffed by owner goals on the game, just recently started with WWE using RWC May edition.

One of the goals that in 1 year, 9 months Curtis Axel must have an overall popularity in the USA of D+ (currently at D-).

Can I get some storyline suggestions or just ideas on what to do with the AxeMan?

I'd go the overlooked approach. Pit him against a Mid to Upper-Mid, Have Axel claim he should be in that spot, and Boom goes the dynamite.

@Motor

Thanks for the website, will have a look at that and get some background and good idea about Dory. I could easily get a couple of years of Main events just by having Dory Beat my upper card guys on the B events and bringing in challengers from other territories for the big shows perhaps.

It'll be difficult to refrain from just signing who I want, I suppose bolstering the roster with loans to put over my core guys is probably for the best. The loanee's can get their pop and momentum back at their home promotions and it should keep my core roster popular with good momentum.

Just little bookig things like booking Terry Funk I fancy him to have wild brawls in my midcard/upper midcard with the eventual Funk v Funk NWA title match, however I feel that should be something reserved for their farther Amarillo Promotion.

Also considering having a Legens of wrestling Tournment.

guys like Gotch, Danny Hodge, Lou Thez, etc. looking for others that would be considered as bonafied legends, mostly, for the NWA. Sputnick Monroe?, Buddy Rogers? Like from the 60's to the 80's who were considered legends.

Guys like Flair, Dusty, Lawler, Andre weren't considered legends until into the 80's.

Ahh sorry for the double post.

This is about my Cverse gmae with CZCW in June 2020

Currently in a transitional period. releasing a few people i'm not using. Looking to put oters in the roster in feuds for the titles.

Past couple of years has seen.

Tommy Cornell, My user, Jay Chord and California Love machine competing for the CZCW World Championship

New Wave, Malloy & Spillane, Hocking/Spade competing and trading the titles.

Jacob Jet, Fox Mask, Matt Hocking and American Elemental II for the Extreme title.

Masked Cougar and Jay chord for the Cali title.

Looking to change things up a little.

Wondering what you guys would do??

CZCW World Championship:

Kept my user away from the title a little bit and continue to plan to do so. California Love machine got his second run with the top strap. To lose it at Welcome to the Coastal Zone, my big event of year to Tommy Cornell in a 4 man ladder match. The other two being Mainstream Hernandez and Shooter Shaun Daley.

Cali I want to keep away for a good year or so, My user to be kept away for another year. Tommy the current champion.

contenders to move up: either Jacob Jet or American Elemental II. Jay Chord could go back towards the title, however he was allied with Tommy before Jay was publically fired for being a part of TCW rebllion. Tommy was spared so maybe that could spark something.

Others who just need a little bit of push to make the jump are guys like, Spencer Spade,Matt Hocking, Swoop , Fro Sure, El mitico Jr, El Hijo De Zonk, Mainstream Hernandez, Shooter Shaun Daley, Mikey James, Remmy Sky, Fox Mask (would be his very last push up), Scout could even do a job up their as he's a former CZCW World Champion.

Tag Title scene

I have a few tag teams that culd be elevated up to be tag champs that are sitting around high midcard. Rich & Famous, Gangland (mobstar/ Cali Slick), American Alpha ( Dean Wardorf & Marv Slater), Acid Flash (Acid II, American Flash). Most of them could play the " Being held down Card" none of the guys in those teams are going to do much of any solo.

Extreme title scene.

Extreme title is my IC level title.

currently American Elemental II and Jacob Jet have been feuding about who is the best/ most exciting wrestler in the company. Winner being set to go up the card. They're in a best of 7 series. Currently at 3 wins each. Jet the current champion and has won the last 2.

The winner of the last match will be the champion to end the feud, loser I plan to move up the card.

I was thinking, as Cali Love Machine recently lost the CZCW Championship and a former 3 x Extreme champion, to have him face the extreme champion as 3x champ v 3 x champ. Whose the most extreme wrestler in the coastal zone.

Tommy could also fit into that division once he loses the CZCW championship. playing up the Rough Justice nickname. How Rough can Rough justice be?

Others that be used as most of those mentioned as CZCW World title contenders, like Fox mask, Remmy, etc

Cali Championship: a title made a year ago. A midcard title

held by Masked cougar, then Devious doctor fang, then Miyake then Jay chord as the masked Black Cougar in his feud with Masked Cougar.

Cougar v Cougar ended when Masked Cougar just defeated Black cougar to take back the title and unmasking Black Cougar as Jay Chord, the guy who was supposedly fired a year ago after the TCW rebellion was taken out.

Both guys are far too over to hold the title, masked cougar will lose the title to a midcarder before Jay can try and get a rematch. putting the title back into the Midcarders hands. Not sure who too.

Potential Big signee

Wolf Hawkins , now 34 has been Toxic the past 18 months and should be free from December. If I don't sign him now I may not get him against until he's heading into his late 30's and potential heading into Time decline. I could have him feud or tag with Tommy, feud with and pass the touch to Jay Chord or my initial thought of being the person who holds the next big stake in the company and the guy that has sent KC Glen after my user in order to send a message. It would lead to an eventual winner gets control, Flash represents the more mainstream direction the company has gone, Wolf would hold more traditional CZCW views and want to head back towards what set the company apart. I'm wanting My user to lose the prop of owner so Wolf would be a good person to do that with. Wolf would have used KC Glen to initially represent him due to the exile he was under. It would be the CZCW originals that would turn the tide and help Hawkins , which would be ironic as the originals banded behind Flash to take out the TCW invasion in 2017/18

For the life of me, I have no idea what to do with Emma. She has been bouncing up and down between developmental and the main roster for three years. I initially tried the silly dancing gimmick, but obviously that gimmick has no legs. She's good enough to warrant a push, but I just don't know what to do with her.

Any help?

This is less of a creative question and more of a 'general booking tips' question. I'm trying a joshi promotion for the first time, and honestly its my first time in Japan since PGHW a couple/few TEW-versions ago. I don't think I've done Japan since the Young Lion system was implemented. While I do watch japanese wrestling, my knowledge as a 'mark' in that world is very low.

What is the best way to handle the young lion system, especially in a smaller promotion? I guess the biggest problem I'm having is how to put a title on a young lion without pissing everyone off because they went over a veteran. Or having them defend it, after that.

I am the SWF and just signed Killer Shark. I have been trying to change guys names when they were in TCW or USPW with the previous name. For example Wolf Hawkins is now Drew Hawkins.

What should I name Killer Shark? I am considering teaming him up with Hell's Bouncer, or Marat Khoklov.

First off, I hate Killer Shark and I think he's terrible. He's useless solo and as a tag team unless you get lucky chemistry. For me, he had bad chemistry with almost everyone I put him with, on top of the fact he just generally sucks.

With that in mind, what I'm doing with him in TCW is putting as the brute in my Phantom Thieves (only Persona nerds will get it) stable under Sammy Bach's leadership. That way I don't have to use him outside of his menace, which is his one redeeming quality. I let him fight on dark matches to hopefully groom him, but so far so bad. The name i gave him was Triton, king of the sea.

CZCW Cult (not too far off National) July 2020

Should I do more to spread the great and/or over guys around to other promotions?

How do you kill off other promotions?

My game world is interesting.

Lots of guys are being let go, lots of guys are moving around now. A chunk of let go guys are former stars that are aging. Christian Faith moved to SOTBW and still going very strong, Skull is about to sign for TCW. Black Eagal is leaving BHOTWG,

Bidding wars for Greg Gauge and Frankie Perez.

SWF losing Mainstream Hernandes and Mikey James to me.

There are a lot of Cult+ promotions.

National

SOTBW

SWF

WLW

RAW

Cult

BHOTWG

TCW (Very old roster)

USPW

5SSSW

21CW

CGC

CZCW (ME)

GSW

MAW

............

I have my own network that i'm slowly growing, I only do 2 events a month my main show and a sort of "Road to" show. I don't want weekly TV untill I get to National and I have too.

GSW and MAW were my own doing, I put them on my network and gave them a weekly TV show. I done it so the guys I sent down to them had lots of matches and developed quickly. It was also to see who could gain pop well and I could bring up guys that were allready over to midcard when I brought them up.

The downside is I let this go on far too long and MAW and GSW went ahead of me in the rankings , despite having weaker shows than me.

The other down point was GSW weren't developing my guys half as well as MAW, maybe due to their hardcore product. So I cancelled their TV shows and cut them as a child company. Only problem now is GSW have got various new TV deals. I have shot myself in the foot with that., I may have to do a WWE and sign their top performers to halt there future progress. I may have to go on weekly TV early to catch up to them.

MAW I've kept as a child company, but I cancelled their weekly show. so they can't make any more quick progression. I may send the GSW guys I sign to them.

Got 5 or 6 uppercard guys that i'm not using properly in storylines, and just there to get my main eventers more over. I don't just want to hog talent. I don't want any more companies to go under so i'm thinking spreading the wealtha bit.

Hey I was wondering what match aim people use when booking Royal Rumble. I never get that great of a rating with it mostly in high 70s or low 80s. Any advice?

I've read in this or other topic, that some users use Story Telling.

This makes sense - as with that many wrestlers there is for sure some story to tell. Plus, with this on, with ring full of workers, diffrent styles, sometimes clashing, it may raise the overall fight/match rating.

On another hand, if this would be your way to start a show, you could consider Work the Crowd, but i'm not convinced with this.

You can always leave it as regular ;)...

I want to make Lex Luger, a tweener figurehead of my 2002 WCW but I'm not sure what his gimmick should be? Also I want to sign Portia Perez but she's only going to be 14 when she debuts, how should I push her as a heel without making it unrealistic for a 14 year old to beat wrestlers in that are 19+. I think I'll pair her up with Chyna, having them as a tag team but I'm not sure how I would handle their split.

Playing as SWF and happened to poach Tadiyuki Kikkawa and Raymond Diaz after Burning Hammer and PGHW decided not to renew their contracts because they are in decline. Kikkawa also decided to expand his active zones to the USA about a week before Burning Hammer kicked him to the curb so I basically just considered it to be fate.

I signed them as developmental trainers and they were both happy to go down to RIPW, but I feel like they are being wasted a bit in that role. I've been kicking around the idea of hitting Japan with some dream matchups and expanding SWF's influence over there. Any idea how to make it work?

My first thought is to partner with a smaller org and talent trade and run monthly shows obviously headlined by Kikkawa until I'm able to buy out a promotion and absorb their popularity. Sounds like a sludge though. Any other ideas how to make it work?

Her behavior could be excused by the broadcast team and such because it's the only way she can get by. Various faces offer to mentor her and teach how to no longer need to cheat. But she finds their motives suspect because she's a pretty girl and they are all men. So she finally pairs up with Chyna. It appears at first that Chyna's a good influence on her. But over time, Portia becomes frustrated and disillusioned with Chyna's leadership. So she turns on Chyna and it turns out she wasn't just cheating by necessity but because she genuinely enjoys being a sneaky little brat.
