Small Questions Thread & "Living FAQ"

Recommended Posts

Feel like this has been asked already but this thread is MASSIVE so might as well ask again. I'm running a local company and for some reason just stopped gaining pop. I"m running shows in the high 50's to low 60's and I've been at 10.9 pop for about 9 months now. Is there something I'm specifically missing in the game world that is preventing me from gaining pop or something else I'm missing?

I've tried to make the jump to TEW many times over the years and just can't get the hang of it. I love how much more in depth the series is but also enjoy the simplicity and quickness of EWR. If I really think about it I believe my real issue is just the barrier of learning the new stuff TEW has to offer and if I ever got the hang of TEW I would never look back.

My question is what would you consider the best way to learn the game? Playing as WWE or starting a local company and building my way up? Creating a company with almost unlimited money and going from there?

Some of my biggest concerns are random deaths, injuries, and odd relationships but I suppose I can change the frequency of that in options.

Also which real world scenario is best in your opinion? I've heard RWC chronicles is more fun and TheWho87's might have more stuff but the popularity and skills get worse ratings.

I would recommend you play out your booking fantasy. Something you'd really like to see, or what you'd do if you were and owner/booker. For me I loved to go back in time and make a company in the late 80's to rival WWF and JCP/WCW into the 90's. I've done it on every version of the game multiple times. I'm always fascinated by starting my own fantasy promotion within a realistic era that I have nostalgia for. Sometime's I love to do this in a modern setting but for me it's harder to keep up my fantasy world when the real world is influencing me.

I would say if you started as a regional company with a good talent roster that you could get to cult quickly if you do things well and you'd get a good grasp how the game works on that journey. Stay at one event per month until you feel you can run two, then see if you can get tv, and go from there.

If you start as WWF/WWE you are going to have to book at least two tv shows a week and manage a giant roster. It's better to start small because that can be overwhelming.

I know dojo reputation == worker quality, but does anyone have a rough idea of what kind of quality?

If I’m looking to start a dojo for a cult or regional promotion, I obviously don’t need the same quality workers as a National or up, and I’m trying to figure out how much is worth spending, vs what’s overspending.

I have 4 teams in a storyline, but when I try to complete the 4th's alliance, it says I can't make a 5th alliance. But it is counting the other partner's alliance as "no one" i think?

How can I get 4 seperate teams allied with their partner?

If I have 4 workers in an angle, and I have 2 of them rated on entertainment as they will get a good rating, and the other 2 younger guys I am trying to get over not rated, I know that this can boost their popularity, but does that mean that the 2 younger guys won't increase their entertainment stats unless they are rated on it, which would in turn bring the angle down?

You might just have to bite the bullet and let the angle get brought down in order for them to get their entertainment skills up. That, or put all of their entertainment angles on the preshow so they can stink without it actually affecting the overall quality of your show.

I have 4 teams in a storyline, but when I try to complete the 4th's alliance, it says I can't make a 5th alliance. I have had it happen when, for instance, I had a work around and Rip Chord, who was my road agent, was also my color commentator, but because his technical push was Road Agent he wasn't available to be in angles that had announcers.

They count towards everything, momentum, storylines, over all win/loss record. The only thing they are exempt from is affecting the show grade (or affecting it in a minute amount) because they aren't a part of the main show. It's why you can have two jobbers work on the preshow and the fans don't complain.

In my RMW game, I'm regional and my dojo has increased in reputation from like, a 50 or 60% (I can't remember where I started at) to the maximum because Robert Oxford, my UC and trainer, has put out a bunch of graduates and I've used them really well so they've increased the reputation of my dojo.

Guys, Remo is my number 1 heel and just got caught in a racist scandal and is now toxic.

I've done some searching for info and it seems this hangs around for a good while.

Do I just suck it up and let him go for free and maybe get him back down the line or do I keep him, give him a few months off and see where we are?

As it happens Jonathan Faust's contract is up, so he could come straight in as a top heel, but it's Remo man, a 4 time SWF champ. He's headlined 4 of my 5 Supreme Challenge events.

It's usually two years for a scandal so ... yeah.

Can someone give me a practical example of how a car crash and a mayhem match differ, and how an epic and spectacle match differ?

I’ve seen real matches I’d qualify as mayhem and epic. But the distinction between them aand their opposite number when tryig to imagine them as real matches eludes me.

I would say a car crash is something all out with lots of crazy spots, some TLC or money in the bank matches might fit.

Mayhem is less about talent and more about violent mayhem. Think some ecw hardcore matches
