Carpathian Pro Wrestling was a European active promotion for 15 years. Created by in 1991 a group of investors lead by Count Dragomir, it was the first company created in the former Eastern Block. CPW product is similar to the US Southern rasslin’, with a bit more of entertainment to spice up things. Its peak was in late ‘90s when CPW was a serious contender to French Pro Revolution. Unfortunately a mix of serious injuries and promising stars moving elsewhere determined the company demise in 2005, leaving a big void in Eastern Europe.

Bio: Mircea Dragomir is mostly known to European wrestling fans as Count Dragomir. The Romanian comes from a family of string section musicians that worked for many philharmonic orchestras around Europe. Dragomir fell in love with wrestling and promoted the discipline, creating some underground shows around the Eastern bloc. In 1991 he created a vampiric manager called Count Dragomir and started his own promotion called Carpathian Pro Wrestling. The company became a regional force and a real alternative of French Pro Revolution until its closure in 2005 due to a series of unfortunate events. After the CPW demise Dragomir still works in some shows in Romania and Hungary and in his very close in opening a wrestling museum in Bucharest that covers history from ancient times to the current days.

The pair broke after Cherry Plum caught Jamie Thornton with Moreno; what ensued after was a shoot promo, calling the AWA booker “… a STDs filled hussy… ”, a wild catfight between the two women and her retirement from the business. In a featured “Lost stars of HWA” article, Peck was found working with her husband in their own thrift shop in Tampa.

Bio: Mikey Sands is the stage name of New Jersey wrestler Michael Carbone. After a year spent using his real name he created “The Shore Off” Mikey Sands, a character that lead him to a two year stint in the New York City Combat midcard. Looking for a new challenge he went north and joined DUDE where he created an entertaining duo with Paul Nadeau called Shore Party. Other than his appearance than turns girls wild, Carbone is a crafty worker who is extremely powerful for a man of his size, thanks to his gym and dietary regimes. He found another fitness enthusiast in Donna D’Amico, mostly known as Dudette, as the two fell in love at first sight and announced their relationship to social media.

Unfortunately for all Dudette fans, her love for fitness found a soul mate in Mikey Sands as the two declared her relationship around Christmas 2015.

Incredulously it worked and now Lee earns a comfortable living all over Britain and Ireland indies just playing a stereotype.

Bio: Sophie Lee is an English personality employed by Stand Up Wrestling. Her career started as a glamour model working for tabloids and men magazines that gave her fame and celebrity status. The blonde bombshell showed up in many TV shows, appearing in SUW first as the featured celebrity at King Of Stand Up 2013 where she help Mark Whittaker to win the tournament. Their partnership has been fruitful as Lee helped Whittaker to become SUW Champion and they became the premier couple of British wrestling; they lasted until JEZZA announced that the 2015 King Of Stand Up will be also Lee’s managerial services. Whittaker lost in the finals to Jeremy Lyons and she was forced to change client: this event triggered a slow burn storyline that ended in late 2015 with Lee turning babyface, literally taking off her evening gown to reveal a glittering Union Jack dress and align with the current SUW champion.

Bio: Neko Matt (Matthew Holloway) is an American stand up comedian turned professional wrestler. Holloway never thought of switching careers until he met former GCW superstar David Rios in a late night comedy show. Intrigued by the backstage stories he quit his job, moved to Japan and learned the basics under the tutelage of the legendary Sho Makita. After a few years spent in small independents shows Holloway joined the newborn P-1 and became Neko Matt, a fan favorite, cat dressing enthusiast. His act became so popular it was soon paired with a manager, the fellow kitty lover MIAO.

Tristar Wrestling Association

With the current crop of free agents, especially in USA, we thought a new company will be needed in USA. It's called Tristar Wrestling Alliance, with a traditional product and based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It will be completed with some of the free agents that most likely fit the company.

In this post, the first of 3, it contains the promotion description and its owner. The second, the family that created TWA. The last one with the remaining workers.

Tristar Wrestling Association

Created by uniting big investors from Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville, Tristar Wrestling Association opened its headquarters in Chattanooga in 1953. The Tennessee old school style mixed with good storytelling, compelling storylines and the smart guidance of Christian Fields Sr elevated the company as the top World Wrestling Syndicate territory and the best destination for every North American grappler.

The Global Championship Wrestling national rise almost killed TWA that was saved in 1991 by its own wrestlers, lead by the charismatic James Brown. The consortium kept the company afloat for two decades until it was sold to Chattanooga’s own Jacob Graves in late 2014. His reign so far is based on good shows and forming alliances, first with Lone Star Wrestling League then resurrecting World Wrestling Syndicate.

Bio: Jacob Graves is a big name of US Southern scene. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was an excellent brawler with a good grasp of psychology and a knack for getting crowds behind him. Initially Graves worked as fan favorite around his home state and Kentucky until his friend Sam Dalton invited him in 1992 to join Grand Style Puroresu. In 1995 “The Tennessee Stud” came back to USA when Ultimate Wrestling Federation made him one of its stars and a two time UWF World Champion. Graves then helped Dalton in setting up Lone Star Wrestling League, becoming its main attraction until his retirement in 2010 when he transitioned to a color commentator role. A backstage talk between him and Luke Dalton convinced Graves to spend some of his money to buy out in late 2014 Tristar Wrestling Association, acting as both owner and head booker, and to resurrect the World Wrestling Syndicate.
