CornellVerse 2010 [Hype/Release]

CornellVerse 2010

Start Date: January 2010.

Download Link: (Version 1.00) Data | Pictures(used in addition to Default)

I found Adam Ryland's EWR in the early 2000s but lost track of his games until right before TEW2010 was released. When it was released I began exploring and fell in love with the Cornellverse. When TEW2013 was released, I wanted to continue starting new games in January 2010 so I created a personal mod to accomplish that goal. I was never happy enough with that mod to release it for others to use but now I have decided to build on what I had created and to release a new version for TEW2016.

If anyone has any suggestions or finds any errors (big or small), please post them here and I will take them into account when making updates.

Heck yeah. Since I've been using/pushing Power Girl in 2016, it kind of made me realize I had never done anything with BSC back when I was playing 2010, so I was thinking of firing the old one up again. But I can just wait for this mod now. Looking forward to it!

It's a year where the core superstars are still in their prime (or at least not that far from it). Now we're in a period where they start retiring. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>I know I'm super late but would anyone like the 2010 data I've been using until this mod is properly released with all the tweaks and changes that it's sure to have? I have been dominating 2010 as USPW with James Justice and Bruce carrying me to the top so if anyone is interested I can gladly upload it for you guys. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Again this is just converted data of the 2010 database and is not in anyway related to the mod of 2010 to soon be released</strong></p>

Oh heck yeah. This sounds wonderful. It's no secret I stayed in 2010's native game up until 16's release because of not connecting with TEW13. And to be honest I didn't really care for a lot of the character changes that came in 13. Especially the guys with oddball characters casting them off for less interesting versions of themselves. The foundational stars of the C-Verse in their prime. Better pool of projects as guys like the Paratroopers have yet to be discovered and my boy Valentine has yet to ego up. Maybe I can even do that "run alongside BSC and help train the girls up" game I kept meaning to do but never did. So much potential in a C-Verse 10 mod.

<p>I just wanted to give a quick update on this as it has been a while.</p><p> </p><p>

I have not been able to get to "reworking" the popularity and physical condition of the workers similar to what Derek B. has done with his 97 mod and the 2014 and 2016 default data. I may wait to do that as a future enhancement after the initial release. Other than that I think I have all the workers pretty much ready.</p><p> </p><p>

I still need to get the Broadcasters and TV shows up to speed as well as other odds and ends before I release the "beta" version.</p><p> </p><p>

My time to work on this has been sporadic so I still cannot give an estimated time of release but I am hopeful that it will not be more than a couple months.</p>

<p>As I am getting closer to finishing, I have two questions for anyone who is interested in this Mod and/or has a good knowledge of the Cornellverse.</p><p> </p><p>

1. BHOTWG is set in the default 2016 data to have a weight split. Does anyone know as far as CV Canon when this weight split was implemented? Should I include it in 2010? It will mean mean the AI will go on a big signing Spree when the game starts unless I pre-stock the roster first.</p><p> </p><p>

2. I am also thinking of pre-stocking the Women's divisions for USPW and NOTBPW to stop a massive gutting of AAA due to the AI Women's divisions being set higher now that they were in TEW2010. Do you think I should do this or leave things as they are?</p>

I honestly would be wary of "pre stocking" any roster. In 2008 Chris Caulfield and Darryl Devine left to go to the SWF on day one if you didn't sign an agreement. Yet I wouldn't suggest anyone make them have written contracts. Let the chips falls where they may. If AAA gets gutted it gets gutted. I might add though that USPW is just cult and I'm not sure they would sign women to written contracts it would most likely being a PPA contract which in that case would help AAA since the women would be increasing in skill and overness working for a larger company.

My favorite is 2008 but 2010 was a close second. I think my biggest issue with 2010 is that I didn't care for USPW getting Engyma and Baine and I didn't like the Syndicate basically being a failure. That being said in the mean time check out 2005 or 2006. 06 Sam Strong has just bought USPW and brought in Bruce the Giant thats always a fun jumping on point.

To me, it makes perfect sense. </p><p> </p><p> Enygma was horribly misused by SWF. He was built properly, won the title within two years, and the booking went to hell. They panicked and took the belt off him while he sort of was just "there" for 4 years. When his contract was up, USPW saw a potential star and signed him to a big money deal... it makes sense that they'd be a match. </p><p> </p><p> Same with Baine, in TCW he'd been kept away from the belt for about 11 years... maybe enjoying a position akin to the Undertaker or Kane where they made an impact on the company without needing the gold. When his contract was up, TCW who was going through some financial troubles wanted him back but since he was kind of extraneous they couldn't really afford him at the price USPW was willing to pay. </p><p> </p><p> The fact that Strong brought in a top face and a top heel within a couple years of each other while also building up Nicky Champion makes a lot of sense to me.</p>

<p>Well actually I'm currently playing the '05 mod that you and nightshadeex did. Big thumbs up to you both. It's definitely the next best thing to '10. I like the 2-way fight at the top rather than 3-way, cos it allows for my own entry as the 3rd company to join the fight. </p><p>

Unfortunately I really don't rate '13 & '16 C-Verse much at all, so I gotta go the mods.</p>

I have not had as much time as I had hoped to work on it and get things done. I may release it without revamping the Physical and Popularity attributes of the workers. I can always go back and update them in future versions.</p><p> </p><p> I still don't have a set date but I am hopeful to have this released by or before October.</p><p> </p><p> Thank you for the interest.</p>

<p>Just a quick update...</p><p> </p><p>

I can guarantee that version 1.00 will be released by October 1st at the latest.</p><p> </p><p>

I am currently testing to make sure there are no game breakers. I may also try to tweak popularity and physical condition if I find the time.</p>

I was delighted that The Syndicate turned out to be a failure. Always hated the concept of that stable and it appears the fictional audience tended to agree with me. TCW 2008 played a big part in repelling me from playing the big boys. In 2007, they were my favorite promotion because they had a lot of talent but there were also holes you needed to fill and dead weight you could either fire or play off the roster. One of my big ideas in the Cappy Pack was A House Divided. The storyline of how I was going to blow up both the remnants of Painful Procedure and Baine's Dark Brotherhood. A story which ended up giving us the Danny Fonzarelli character. Or as I intended to call him J.D. Lishus.</p><p> </p><p> Then 2008 came out. The Syndicate was born. DAVE died and TCW got this influx of talent that essentially plugged all the fun and interesting holes the promotion had the prior years. It was like the company had been nerfed as far as I was concerned. On the upside, that frustration with TCW eventually lead to me inventing my training fed play. So things worked out well.</p><p> </p><p> As for Baine and Enygma ending up in USPW, what did I really care? I had never really got into that company as much as I often wished I could have. Baine needed somewhere to be after The Dark Brotherhood fell and Enygma was honestly just a guy to me. I think the first time I was interested in him was when I dabbled with C-Verse 97 and saw who he was before the mask.</p><p> </p><p> Suffice to say 2010 was much more my groove. 2008 might have been a formative game for me as far as developing my play style but 2010 was where I settled in and really played my best stuff. Love this period in the C-Verse. So many great times there.</p>

Version 1.00 has been officially released. The main post has been updated with Links for download.

Please let me know if you have any problems or if you find any issues with the Mod. All constructive criticism is welcome. I plan on making improvements as time allows. I will also try to correct any discovered "game stoppers" as quickly as I can once they are reported.
