Derek's epic post has me mulling a Burning Hammer save again. I love having fun with the epic imagery they use. And while a '97 ECW game is fun, counting pennies is most definitely not.

One small trick that someone mentioned a long while ago that I don't think I've seen in the thread.... When starting the save and picking your Avatar's User Skills, you don't need Creative. So push those points into Motivating as that helps with the in-ring. Unless you plan on using a bunch of gimmicks. This won't make a massive impact on your grades, but a small bit helps if you are getting hit with penalties like Time Decline.

The user points thing is great advice, I've done exactly that too and it is probably why people keep scoring higher than I expect. I think I'm on 8 points there at the moment, with my 300th show coming up around the end of the year so I might even up that to 9 depending on how I'm feeling at the time. I may also raise my negotiation skills a bit more instead... my wage bill is insane thanks to my roster size and developmental farm system that is getting to be a little out of hand.

I also like to imagine that my BHOTWG has all the best bits of presentation it can now that I'm spending on the highest production levels. Attitude era style entrances with pyro and stuff for those it would suit, the best music possible so that everyone sounds like a megastar, super HD quality everything, outfits that 70s glam rock stars would be envious of... it's Japan too, so you know that if something is being done it's going to be done to the most extreme level of awesomeness imaginable. :D

I suppose I can only ask how you'd book things in a BCG or GCG without a junior division, but that's far and away separate from BHOTWG. I struggle lasting too long into a run without eroding both momentum and pop, especially as I try to go without tournaments (mimicking pre-2010 NOAH).

I've had GCG games in the past, which is partly why I bought them out... I wanted the stars I had grown to love (and Kiminobu Kuroki) since they were being squandered. In the past I opened GCG up a little to smaller workers but I never added a Junior division officially. Either you're good enough to compete at heavyweight or you aren't good enough to be worth it. One thing I did have was a "World Cup" type thing where I tried to bring in people from around the world to compete... I did also have Hell Monkey in there representing Hell though... one of the best things in that game was the team I had of Larry Wood and The Big Problem (as Theo Wood), The monster gaijins just tore through the tag ranks and TBP become a legit top level talent in that save thanks to the quality of people he was with.

But ultimately, it wasn't a very dynamic game beyond the World Cup and the constant battle for supremacy between a few top guys. GCG have been very stable for a long time, even with Kudo's change to things... these days I'd probably add a few stables and again open things up to more Juniors where possble. Take advantage of being able to access guys like Magnum Kobe Frankie Perez and Musashi who would likely all be good fits stylistically... and then see if there would be any way to work things out with BCG because that's a company war I'd love to see. Funakoshi vs the GCG guy is going to be a huge rivalry for me going forward with BHOTWG, which is also great or BCG since they benefit from Funakoshi being super over. :)

I've never tried a BCG game though... not sure what I'd do with them if I tried to play them other than to cry when the roster gets raided. :p Maybe just do the war with GCG so see how I'd have that play out? Could spin it a bit like a MArvel Civil War deal, with both sides being right but also having to come together in order to see off the other threats (PGHW, BHOTWG, WLW) from eroding what it means to be true heavyweight wrestling....

Mm.

My BCG / GCG divide is slightly different from default, because I had Maeda and Yoshifusa bring their proteges (Hyobanshi / Gakusha) with them plus Sozen Ishinomori to BCG. So GCG has a slightly fresher roster (Koshiro Ino is in the scene, but Furusawa, Kuroki, Eagle, Takayuki and SUKI are now past the ceiling to a degree and some BCG youngsters are underneath) while BCG has a stronger main event scene.

I play GCG usually as Kudo bringing in more of a BHOTWG influence, and BCG as retro-old school. It comes a bit too much like Pro Wrestling ZERO-1 IRL sometimes, which is where the slowdown comes in.

Just want to thank you, Derek, for your epic post. I'm between saves, having lost my enthusiasm for booking OLLIE. And while I'm not convinced I'm going to be booking puro next (though I did love my old BCG from 2013), it's the love and enjoyment of your post that makes me excited that maybe my next save is going to be just as epic as yours.

I've had various ones over the years, with PGHW, GCG and now BHOTWG all being among my favourites of all time across a variety of different TEWs. SWF and USPW are also up there and I could tell epic stories of each, and I'm pretty sure I have about on the forums a bunch of times. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> .....</p><p> </p><p> But now, time for a super quick update on events that have taken place in the 3 weeks since the save I posted up. Night Of The Burning Hammer was a roaring success, posting up four 100 rated matches over the course of the 10 match card... the LOWEST rated match of the night was the Sakai vs Kikkawa passing of the torch match that rated at 91. Thanks to strong angles and some show extras the show came out to a nice 100 rating... though the predicted 100 for KC Glenn vs Velocidad was only a 97 as I (Kikkawa) broke KC's ribs a week before the show. A little disappointed there for that, but it was still a 97 rated match and now KC has had an amazing year dominating the Junior division by holding the singles and tag belts while also having won the Junior Tag League and Best of Super Juniors in the same year. He still sits atop the 100 rated match pile in singles (8 solo, 1 tag), but Nakasawa has added two more to his tally to take him to 10 total (6 solo, 4 tag) and I don't doubt that one of them will be wrestler of the year. KC got the mid year award for that...</p><p> </p><p> The Kitozon Cup is underway and will run through to the end of the year, while the Young Lion Cup will culminate in November and is being used as a way to showcase some developmental talents ahead of their debuts, along with some of the younger main roster talents. Not sure who is going to win those yet. I'm also adding the Burning Trios titles as an alliance title, with a 16 team tournament being held for that too, which gives me a nice format for show booking just now. One match each for the young lion and trios tournaments, two Kitozon Cup matches and then a bunch of matches to hype groups and future match ups. This tour has been the hardest for me to get through during the last couple of years due to having more non-tournament matches to book, so this will work well for me. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Lastly, and most importantly of all... Kansuke Konda. The all round good guy, with lots of fighting spirit, heart and a great attitude just decided he had had enough of the substance abuse issues within the company. Well.... damn. Seven people were named (Eien Miyamoto, Gonkuro Kamioka, Ieyoshi Shimakage, Marvel Malloy, Simon Flemmingway, Stealth Z, Storm Spillane) and we took a hit of 60 points to our prestige, dropping all the way to 40 while also having this hanging over our heads for over a year... at least this keeps things interesting... we just ordered a million plastic cups and pretty much hae to buy out a lab to get everyone tested since our roster is so huge. Fun times ahead. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Spent way too much time already eyeballing possible prospects and signings. Like figuring out which American to hire as American Optimus II - settled on California Love Machine as the most likely candidate. Debating whether to bring in the young Japanese talent who are loyal to other companies like BCG and Exodus or not, since I can't sign them to exclusive deals yet. Hiring them for a tour or two could bring up their popularity which might make them too popular for their current companies, so I can steal them. Or it might just help those companies by building them new stars. Decisions decisions....</p>

Koshiro Ino in particular always stands out to me... he came up through the ranks in BHOTWG and is the protege of Burning legend Haruki "Hooded" Kudo, who saw so much potential in him. He then made a move to TCW for a very long term excursion, somewhere Kudo had wrestled before too, and tried to emulate his mentor's successes internationally but somehow never quite made it to the too... during this same tie Kudo moved on to GCG, who had always been BHOTWG's rivals due largely to the internal company politics and this left Koshiro with an agonising choice.... stay in the US, where he would be considered something of a failure due to his inability to crack the top of the company in the only place where it would really matter... or return home to Japan where he was faced with the choice of staying loyal to his mentor or to the company that trained him and invested so much in his development.... the choice would have been agonising for him, though we know he chose BHOTWG in the end where he teamed with two other men of a similar age who had failed to accomplish as much as had been expected of them in Yasuhiko Taira and Yasunobu Masuno. Together they formed NEO... who were far from new, being in their mid 30s and having such limited success between them in the top of any company. IF it weren't for Koshiro's time decline in my game I had some big plans for him but that changed and Taira kinda took over his role at the top.... but I could see all of that being explored a lot and being used to fuel them as a group that hates the status quo... obvious rivalries with the Kiikkawa Army and the guy who surpassed them (Kinnojo Horri) could easily be the focus from there. At least that's one of my takes on that side of things.</p><p> </p><p> The monthly summary side of things works well for BHOTWG... if you are doing a touring company then a lot of the matches should be fairly boring and predictable in terms of results and what they are building to, meaning that the big shows are the only ones that need much attention. It's why I mostly plan for those and the tournaments can fill in the rest fairly logically. As for development companies, I opened my Mexican one to mostly focus on smaller workers and was lucky to get PGHW to help me develop local popularity and more of my heavyweight side of things. It can also be a good way to help your tag teams develop with a bit more focus too, which is good for helping to get some decent results. BHOTWG has surprisingly few good teams at the start, so rebuilding that division and using stables was one of my goals to help with that.</p><p> </p><p> There should be some hastily assembled notes on the first sheet of the tournament sheet. But basically, I run all the matches listed for each number in one night for that block. So Block A will have 5 matches set with a 1, and from there I just turn it blue for a win (based in the names in Column A) and red for a loss. Winner gets 2 points, draw gets 1, 0 for a loss. I'm no wizard with sheets so it's a bit of book keeping but you can also add match grades next to each result to see how well people are performing. I like to give the best performers a title shot even if they don't win as a reward for being tournament MVP, though I have sometimes forgotten to do that... most recently forgetting to extend Hyosuke Kokan's contract and only noticing with 7 days to go.... by time he made a decision he had left the company. Oh well. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

At least that's one of my takes on that side of things.<p> </p><p> The monthly summary side of things works well for BHOTWG... if you are doing a touring company then a lot of the matches should be fairly boring and predictable in terms of results and what they are building to, meaning that the big shows are the only ones that need much attention. It's why I mostly plan for those and the tournaments can fill in the rest fairly logically. Kanto only has BH so adding one of them there makes sense. As I mentioned before, I am still deciding on whether the products should be a bit "lighter", so I don't wear out youngsters while still in development. Maybe even a more western product, something like TCW, that would be product equals popularity. </p><p> </p><p> Already think its gonna be awful fun coming up with new characters for talent, especially the Super Juniors. Or does that change who you can hire and function as a workaround to regional availability?</p>

<p>Glad to see this thread alive again. I've been doing a BHOTWG/TCW game and I'm in Dec 2020. I started doing BHOTG in November 2016 because Sakai had beaten Kikkawa for the title a few months ago and that really intrigued me.</p><p> </p><p>

Generally, Dragon gate is my favorite promotion so I follow that thread my units. The way I explained what happened with Sakai was that he was rising, Kikkawa had beaten everyone. Sakai ask for a title shot, Kikkawa isn't pleased with him stepping up to him, but eventually accepts. Meanwhile, Masuno and Taira turn on Ino shortly before. Sakai shocks the world and beats Kikkawa, leaves Kikkawa Army and sides with Masuno and Taira, keeping both heel. Sakai reasons for leaving is simple; he's now the champ, he feels he is better than Kikkawa and thus, wants independence. Masuno-Taira-Sakai- are joined by Shimakage, Toju Munkata and Kasoni Yamura and TARO. The unit becomes Kasou-Gun.</p><p> </p><p>

Toushsai, who generally was in Sekigun, reunites with Ino. Sensational Dragon helps and with the urging of Optimus, they reform the Silver Fleet; calling it Silver Fleet Rising. So it's those three, Fugunaga, MYSTIC Dragon and a few others I forgot.</p><p> </p><p>

I won't go into every unit that I've done but I was surprised that I was able to buy PGHW, GCG and BGC. PGHW first and then in 2018, the other two. I normally don't like buying out companies, but I like the idea of Kaneko being that ruthless and wanting to strengthen his stranglehold of Puro, especially considering the reason he is in ownership is because he successfully staged a coup against Kaniee.</p><p> </p><p>

The ones I took from Pride were the usual suspects; Kosio, Kawashima, Jimbo and KitoGuchi. GCG was Kudo(to return as a road agent, which I found fascinating), SUKI, Funakoshi.</p><p> </p><p>

At first, I found the Western schedule to be really weird. However, over time, I actually really like it. Definitely helps getting a second show. But I have found more flexibility in having two shows plus the monthly PPV. Sure, you can't do the touring contracts but what I do is for people who I want to trial, I'll sign them to PPAs deals and see how it goes. Then I sign them or let them go for nothing. </p><p> </p><p>

For child companies, I also did the Dragon Pro thing(name included) for Juniors and bought SAISHO for the heavys. Opened Hinote Dojo USA as the reasoning would be Kaneko slowly beginning to plan expansion in America.</p>

I keep forgetting about that even though it was something I had planned to do in the past. When I started my BHOTWG game I created an alliance with TCW and NOTBPW (which now has PGHW in it too since I own them) but NOTBPW block me from adding my smaller companies to the alliance due to size. Sadly, the alliance also blocks me from removing NOTBPW from it... so for now I am slowly watching them both lose popularity in the hopes that I can get everything sorted while they are at cult... or I could get impatient and remove myself from the alliance and have all things go my own way. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Lo-Drew, I like the sound of what you have going on in your game. Have you set up tournaments or anything else different from the original format? I definitely want to learn more, and chuckled that you added a lot of the same people to NEO that I did. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Sadly, the alliance also blocks me from removing NOTBPW from it... so for now I am slowly watching them both lose popularity in the hopes that I can get everything sorted while they are at cult... or I could get impatient and remove myself from the alliance and have all things go my own way. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> Lo-Drew, I like the sound of what you have going on in your game. Have you set up tournaments or anything else different from the original format? Obviously your late entry into them has given them some time to do lots of things, are there any interesting new teams? I definitely want to learn more, and chuckled that you added a lot of the same people to NEO that I did. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I actually ran into a similar problem that's extremely silly. I have my alliance and initially all the companies I owned were local and the companies I thereafter bought were small. Now all the companies are regional with some stray left as small. Unfortunately, I opened two more companies at smallest size (local) and some of those regional/small-sized companies refuse to let me invite the local-sized ones. Pretty hilarious I'm getting bullied by my own child companies. </p><p> </p><p> Lo-Drew your post made me think of doing a TCW/BHOTWG game to mimic the ROH/NJPW relationship. Then, as I am prone to do, I was like "well, then I'd have to add a Mexican company to play the role of CMLL and a British company for RevPro" and I realized I'd never get anything done xD</p>

The first winner was Kinnojo Horri for me, but that was only halfway deliberate once I was a good chunk of the way through the tournament and I saw he was performing quite well. By then I also had his history with Kikkawa to consider and his loyalty to me, so I knew I was on to a winner there. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> As a general rule, when I'm setting up the tournament I make a rough list of people by stable affiliations and then try to spread them across the blocks to get pretty few matches between them. Unless I'm going for a particular story.... I think the first year I had all three members of NEO in the same block and had them get one win each to present them as being on an equal level with each other. I've also had Heihachiro Sakai go up against all the rest of the heavyweights from the Kikkawa Army (except Kikkawa) as a way to hype that he is the new star of the group (that was over 3 years of tournament). With my super juniors I had my 4 Pillars (Elemental, Sensational Dragon, MYSTIC Dragon and Marihito Masuke) spread evenly the first year with 2 in each block, then the following year they were all in the same block to help build Velocidad in the other block. He then beat his Marihito in the final, beat Elemental for the title and defended against Sensational Dragon while MYSTIC went away to reinvent himself... he'll beat all four of them eventually (as will KC Glenn too) but it's not going to come easily for either of them to get the rest of the wins they need. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> If I were you, I'd go with the touring schedule. You can always up the Mainstream in your product a little and add some more angles if you want to feel more Western, but even in canon BHOTWG only made the switch at the end of December. At least, going by some Employment Histories anyway, as some people were touring until then. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Plus, it's great to have people to job that you can bring back right away if you want. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Though I did find that having people on the main show too often led to them getting very popular for jobbers, which made it hard to introduce new talent. That's why I'm running dark matches now for my young lions, to keep them down while they are young.</p><p> </p><p> I opened my Mexican child company because there are actually quite a few talents out there who I eventually wanted to bring to Japan, plus I wanted a company that I could have with a focus on smaller workers in general to help build my junior division. It helped that I know NJPW send a lot of workers there to learn too, and the whole Dragon Gate stuff was something I know a little about but nowhere near enough. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> There aren't any particular benefits to opening an company outside your area as the region restrictions are still in place and you can't borrow the PPA/written workers from a child company... I just like doing it. Though now that I am International size I have got past those pesky restrictions... just a shame I had to pillage 21CW to do it.</p><p> </p><p> Hope that helps. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Very much helps. Very much helps. Thanks.

Have moved forward in the save yet, but getting everything set up. Opened those two developmental companies - Dragon Pro in Kanto and Fire Kingdom in Hokkaido. I decided to basically go with Middleweight and above at Dragon Pro and lightweight and under (so, likely Super Juniors) at Fire Kingdom. The products are both adjusted a bit from the base Burning Path product. I was going to have both heavyweights and Super Juniors at Dragon but concerned that having a weight split activated will make for a massive roster. Right now, just deciding who to hire for development and who to bring onto the main roster. Biggest signings, in terms of cost, are going to be some quality road agents. Want some good ones for the two developmentals as well. I remember what you said about announcers & color commentators, but it doesn't look like there are better options available off the start. Makes sense on the Mexican child promotion. Might open one up at some point, but spending $200K on the first two is enough right now. Gotta watch the finances a bit, to prepare for any kind of emergency. Never know when a natural disaster could hit. Tornado, earthquake, tsunami....

My two big decisions....

Think I mentioned this dilemma before, but debating whether I should bring in workers who are loyal to other promotions but would do a touring contract. Might just end up making the worker more popular and helping BCG, Exodus, etc.

And.... I've always used Kenta Kobashi as a base for how I view Nakasawa. But I also did that for Koshiro Ino. Now they are in the same company. Who gets to be my Kobashi?

Edit - and third question... meant to check the save you posted, Derek, but keep forgetting. Were you running 2 weekly tour shows at first, or 3?

For my child companies I've got them mostly set up with titles to emulate the weight split but I don't think I've got them all set to have an actual weight split. At some point in the future, probably once I've expanded my own network to cover Japan and give my child companies more exposure there, I plan to invite the various champions of the various companies to be part of the appropriate tournaments. I've also got lots of women in development too with divisions in several companies so that my alliance can promote women's wrestling and if anyone looks to become a particularly massive star I've got an avenue to get them on to my shows. I'm also tempted to repeat something I did in a CV97 with my own created company where I integrated the women as long as they could meet the size requirements. This was mostly for 5SSW's top 4 of Sensational Ogiwara, Thunder Hike, Crusher Ichihara and Kit Hatoyama. Kit, Thunder and Ogiwara came in as a masked Junior trio that tore the division a new one with their talents... and Crusher came in planning to unmask them and destroy the myth that women can't be as good as men. It was a fun story, though I never got to finish it as I lost momentum on that game somewhere in low cult...

I have a hard time imagining PGHW/BCG/GCG/SAISHO surviving. I feel like WLW are the only ones with a chance. If you make their guys popular they'll have to pay them more and it'll just sink them faster. Not sure you have to worry about them. And if you did, I'm not sure there's any harm. I don't think you have to worry about competition from anyone in Japan except, again, WLW.

It does vary significantly on which companies can survive. If PGHW had stayed National in my save I'm sure they would have survived the tsunami, but when they fell to cult I swooped in, released some workers they didn't need and soon they were making money again. I can rely on them to add at least a million to me every month they tour now, which is nice. :) GCG probably would have survived in my game too if they hadn't lost their TV deal... they had a bunch of written contracts and were only putting on one show a month essentially multiplying their workers costs by a factor of 4 or 5 for no reason. Silly Kudo... it's almost like he was secretly working with BHOTWG all along... which is something I have Mabuchi Furusawa thinking Kudo was doing as a way to run his father's promotion out of business once and for all.

As for the touring talents... I've actively and deliberately gotten some of the loyal talents from other companies to be more over. It gives them better shows, helps other talents to get better and helps them to make a little more from attendance as those companies grow. I've not actually seen any of those workers leave their favoured companies as a result either, leading to some very over indy stars. Funakoshi and Musashi have been the biggest successes as a result of this, which has really helped my child BCG who they both also work for. :)

I think I ran 2 shows a week most of the time early on, but now I tend to run 3 a week for most of the year. It depends what I need really, though I think the schedule is fairly well worked out now for my tournaments and whatnot. The final 3 month tour is the Kitozon Cup, so I can have fewer shows there just by adding more tournament matches to the shows. Though the last couple of weeks there are basically all headlined by PPV level main events as the tournament gets down to the big guns. :)

Yo are correct that you can trade with alliance members. I keep forgetting about that even though it was something I had planned to do in the past. When I started my BHOTWG game I created an alliance with TCW and NOTBPW (which now has PGHW in it too since I own them) but NOTBPW block me from adding my smaller companies to the alliance due to size. TCW probably wouldn't while at Cult but they are also national again for now. Lo-Drew, I like the sound of what you have going on in your game. Have you set up tournaments or anything else different from the original format? Obviously your late entry into them has given them some time to do lots of things, are there any interesting new teams? I definitely want to learn more, and chuckled that you added a lot of the same people to NEO that I did. :)

I only do four; Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix, Trios Tournament, Best of the Super Juniors and the All Japan Elite Series.

Maeda Grand Prix I bought earlier in 2020, almost three years after I bought BGC, because Maeda actually died(I took him on as a road agent.) The initial tournament was to determine the first ever Burning Path Champion. Going forward, it'll take place in Feb. 16 man tournament. Winner gets a shot at the Burning Path title at Fire Dream of the Immortals.

Trios Tournament is in April. Usually a 16 team tournament. Winning team all earn a contract which grants them any match they want up until a year. So like DDT's anytime, anyplace, anywhere contracts but you have to announce when you're using your contract ahead of time. I've had a lot of fun doing it every year.

All Japan Cup is the Elite Series renamed. Started in 2017, but it maintains the history from PGHW's version. It's my G1. I just finished the 2020 version and have the Finals to book. For the first three years, I've done A Block and B Block. This year, I expanded it to four blocks. Wasn't bad. Generally, the winner gets a World title shot at Fire Dream of the Immortals. Also, the World Champion has the option of whether or not they want to compete n the tournament or decide to skip it and take the time to recover.

I currently have 7 titles. The World, the Burning Path(the secondary main event title), the Junior, Junior Tag Team, World Tag Team, Openweight(reopened it in 2017)and the Trios Championship.

I've definitely experimented with dropping my PPV service and going with Aichi. It was decent, but I found I was actually losing money after I think 9 months. So I dropped it and went with HYBOSO. Things have been great since.

I made a mistake. The Toushusai-Ino-Sensational Dragon-MYSTIC-Fugunaga unit didn't make Silver Fleet. Instead, they became NEO-MAX, continuing the legacy. I forgot all the members, but I remember setting up Fugunaga getting upset with his rank, turning on them in spring of 2017 and then recruiting his own unit; Silver Moon. Dragon goes heavy, wins the Openweight, becomes even more arrogant and causes riffs with his unit. Night after Night of the Burning Hammer, he turns on his unit, joins with Sakai and Kasou-Gun. By this time Masuno is kicked out.

Anyways Fugunaga-Funakoshi(who was new), Fujio Narahashi(Ai actually signed him before I took over)-Hiraki(who turned on his partner and became his mega push)-Relampago-Yoshinaka Taku-Sojo Sen made up the original formation. People came and went. The real shakeup begins in late 2018 when SUKI, who had been around for a few months but was doing his own thing, joined Silver Moon. He immediately clashed with Taku, the latter being upset that his spot in the AJES was taken by SUKI and then SUKI, true to his asshole persona, quickly challenged Fugunaga on his leadership. This goes on for a few months, leads to a loser leaves the unit match between him and Fugunaga. SUKI wins, Taku is kicked out.

SUKI-Fujio-Funakoshi-Yamura-Hiraki-Chess Maniac-MYSTIC become Kowloon Palace(or Kowloon for short.) It's hard to explain everything that I did haha but that's just a small sample.

As for teams, the Fujio-Funakoshi team has been one of my favs. They're called Wonderful Destruction. When he turned, Fujio became "The Wonderful"Fujio Narahashi. He still maintains his hard hitting style but now he's more stylish, more flamboyant in his appearance and personality. Funakoshi as a heel is a brutal, hard hitting wrestler who models himself as a samurai.

Keith and Toshitala went on an epic 14 month reign from August 2018 to Night of the Burning Hammer 2019. Which was fun. Those are a few that come to mind.

I should also clarify Hinote Dojo USA is a dojo, not a child company. I opened it in South West because Cali makes sense to me. In hindsight, Hawaii probably makes better sense since they're the only part of America that gets to see Burning Hammer without doing anything else.

Figuring out the participants in the Grand Prix, deciding on stables, etc. And signing talent, both for the developmental and for the main card. I think the toughest decision so far was when I signed up California Love Machine and assigned him to Fire Kingdom Pro Wrestling, I gave him the American Optimus II character but I debated between giving him the same mask pic as American Optimus or the Winter Solider-esque one. Went with the latter but still not sure it was the right call lol</p><p> </p><p> Main thing I'm not sure about at this point is how many workers I should sign for each of the developmental territories. And they tend to hire crap workers who get pushed, so figured I would go this direction. </p><p> </p><p> The temptation is to open up a broadcaster pretty quick. I always want to open one domestically so I can give the child companies some coverage. That helps with the prospects gaining popularity. But I think growing Burning Hammer itself outside of Japan is going to be important too. So opening one up with coverage in the US and Mexico and Canada and putting events on there might be best the approach, as Derek's mentioned. I did wonder if I could put regular tour shows on the "network" or whether they were excluded from broadcast.... At the same time, hoarding money for the economy crash isn't a bad idea, either.</p>

<p>I hadn't even thought about creating the next generation of American Optimus... I've been slowly phasing him out already as he's just not that good and is unlikely to ever get near the top of the division like his character probably should be. I had considered an Elemental IV so that I can have two Elementals at the same time and have some fun there, but new generations of BHOTWG owned masks like Black Cobra and American Optimus could make for some interesting long term developments. Time to look for people who may fit the bill there.... I already have Dark Eagle II in development and Silver Shark II working as a young lion on the main roster before his excursion to Mexico.</p><p> </p><p>

The roster size is a mix of company size and owner preference. If they are at local size then 20 people should cover it for most of preferences, but they will want more as they grow. I let my babies sign more people, it gives me a reason to sign them to development if they do quite well but the AI does tend to hire popular people rather than sensible choices a lot. You can influence that a little by getting bookers who look for potential and setting some hiring rules via the editor so that they only hire the kinds of workers you would be interested in. Is a handy trick. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I went for the broadcaster around the time of the tsunami. realising I needed it in order to grow outside of Japan I set mine to the smallest size everywhere EXCEPT Japan, and kept the strong deals I had in Japan already for maximum exposure and cash. I also ended up getting rid of the TV deal so that I was airing everything on my own broadcaster and whatever other network I was on (is now Aichi). I have deals for tour highlights, but with my touring events being shown on those deals I have everything shown anyway. I also have PPV deals all over the place, with HYBOSO covering Japan and a bunch of other major ones that I could only get when I hit International thanks to the purchase of 21CW. I was in debt for a couple of months after buying my own network but the gains in size internationally (with that extra sponsorship cash), TV money and PPV buy it has paid for itself. I am now saving up so that I can get Japanese coverage for my own network but I don't think I can afford it for a while.... I am also considering putting my shows on Reverie for their massive exposure, which might get be a lot more PPVs buys so that I can expand too.... but it feels kinds cheap to abandon my own network to get the funds to pay for improvements to it... </p><p> </p><p>

Is a tough call. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

So the first save came to an end mid-way through February. Going to start over and slightly alter the approach I take. Not massively and significantly, but a few tweaks. I typically run what amounts to a test save to really get a handle on the company. I was enjoying booking the tours, though. The spreadsheet I put together - based on Derek's - is pretty slick and I like the structure that booking 4 or 5 Grand Prix matches gives, as its pretty easy to fill in the rest after that. I did open a subscription broadcaster wit medium coverage in Japan and Tiny coverage in three other regions. Cost a mere 23.5m and left the company just barely above zero in the bank, which is definitely not ideal. That would allow the company to show tour events on the network, along with the child company content, so it would grow the company abroad. Maybe even faster than just showing the big events. Still undecided on the best approach with the broadcaster, but I think I will wait longer on the new save. Maybe build up the bank account for a bit longer before I focus on the international growth.

Going to open just one child company, with a size split, instead of two separate ones. Saves a bit of money and I can sign fewer developmental talent.

Creating new characters is something I've really come to enjoy. I spent way too much time picking out the new American Optimus. Black Cobra II and others would be fun to pick out a swell. Who do you have as DEII and SSII?

I'm of the opinion that if you have a broadcaster, you're better off having a dev on a regular schedule with a TV Show (or 2) + PPV. They'll quickly become profitable when they reach regional.
