PREDICTION COMPETITION

Your monthly average points gives you a starting point for your total score. For example, if Kijar scores 15 points on the show, that gets added to his average of 5.75 to give a total of 20.75

Each correct prediction scores 1 point.

For each Survival match, choose who you think will survive. If you get the survivor(s) exxactly correct, you score 1 bonus point. For example if you think Randy Orton and Kevin Steen survive Ultimate Battle for Survival and both are the only survivors, you score 3 points - 1 for each survivor plus 1 for correctly predicting both survivors. If only Steen survives, you score 1 point

The prize for the winner is to choose a storyline going forward. This can involve who you want, go on for as long as you want and who the eventual winner will be. You can also determine how the storyline progresses if you wish to into all the detail. Destiny is not eligible for this prize as he only predicted in two out of the eight shows and four was required to qualify.

There is also a prize of a profile for the winner of the Battle for Survival prediction, which Destiny or anybody else who doesn't not qualify for the main prize can win.

He says tonight PSW are going big time as we make our debut on Adelphia pay per view, remarking it is all down to him and his Hollywood star power, attracting the big networks and pay per view carriers to broadcast PSW. At the announce desk, PSW Owner Potter looks delighted, Bret Hart looks pissed off while Dusty Rhodes does comment that Sandler is making PSW reach audiences we couldn’t. 83

WOMEN’S BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL

Trenesha Biggers, Nikita, Amazing Kong & Rebecca Knox v Sarah Stock, Melissa, Gail Kim & Nattie Neidhart

This is a sign of the improving women’s division in PSW that this year features PSW’s first ever Women’s Battle for Survival. Who knows, next year they may get their own Ultimate Battle for Survival.

It was a good, solid match which showcased the division well. All put in a decent showing, except Nattie Neidhart who underperformed. She was first eliminated, thanks to an Implant Buster from Amazing Kong. Rebecca Knox went next when Melissa despatch her.

The advantage swung back again when Sarah Stock was eliminted at Trenesha Biggers before it was evened back up again when Gail Kim sent Biggers back to the showers.

This left it two on two, but Nikita and Kong proved to be the better pairing as first Nikita pinned Kim and then Kong pinned Melissa after another Implant Buster to close out the match in 11:58. 51

Survivors: Amazing Kong and Nikita

Nattie Neidhart was really off her game.

PSW TV TITLE

Stu Sanders (champion) v Rocky Romero

Stu Sanders used his Feast or Fired briefcase to win the TV Title a few weeks ago and since then he has had Marty Scurll help him to keep the title. Tonight there was no Marty Scurll around and Sanders lost the title to a focused and motivated Romero. His win came in 9:22 by pinfall. Rocky Romero wins the PSW TV Title and becomes the third two time champion. 50

Stu Sanders is improving in technical skills.

Rocky Romero has won his last 6 matches.

Stu Sanders winning streak ends at 6.

BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL

YMCC (Christian York, Joey Matthews, Caprice Coleman & Eddie Colon) v Kash Machines (Kid Kash, Reckless Youth, Ricky Reyes & Air Paris

Kash Machines dominated this match as they systematically and ruthlessly despatched of their opponents one by one. Not only that, but every team member got rid of one man each.

First to go was Christian York, who Ricky Reyes got rid of after only four minutes.

Reckless Youth was next to score a pinfall when he got the better of Joey Matthews.

Air Paris got in on the action yet when he sent Caprice Coleman packing before Kid Kash finished the job in 9:47 when he eliminated Eddie Colon. A very impressive team performance. 59

PSW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Beth Phoenix (champion) v Nora Greenwald

A Christmas Feast rematch as Beth Phoenix defends the title for the first time against the women she took it from last month, Nora Greenwald.

Greenwald probably had more of the match but Phoenix got the win again. Sometimes somebody just has your number and this may be the case here. Greenwald showed her frustration after the match by punching the canvas while Phoenix celebrated on the turnbuckles with the championship belt. The end came in 11:47 by submission. Beth Phoenix makes defence number 1 of her PSW Women's Championship title. 51

Beth Phoenix has won her last 5 matches.

In the backstage interview area we see Chris Jericho. He calls himself The Greatest Champion, referring to various championships he has held everywhere he has been. He says he and Jimmy Yang have been helping each other in recent weeks against a common enemy but tonight it’s about the title and Jericho says he is winning it back. 83

BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL

The Wright Stuff (Alex Wright, Spanish Announce Team & Nate Nickerson) v Team eXcite (T. J. Perkins, Jay Lethal & Londrick

Unlike the last survival match which was very one sided, this was very even and tight all the way through.

Joel Maximo was eliminated first courtesy of a Sliced Bread Number 2 by Brian Kendrick.

Kendrick went immediately when Joel’s brother Jose rolled him up for a quick pin while he was celebrating.

Jay Lethal followed next when Alex Wright hit him with Das Boot.

The sides evened up again when Paul London put pay to Nate Nickerson, then when Jose Maximo tried to repeat the trick from earlier, London reverse into his own roll up and it was two on one.

Alex Wright fought a sensible, slow match from here, concentrating on not making any mistakes. This paid off when he connected with another Das Boot to pin Paul London. However, his efforts had exhausted him and T. J. Perkins won the duel of the captains in 11:33. 65

Survivor: T. J. Perkins

Joel Maximo was off his game.

PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

Joe Hennig (champion) v Eddie Kingston

The show so far has been decent without being particularly great or exciting. This trend continued as Joe Hennig made his first title defence.

Eddie Kingston is one tough dude and not easy to beat. Hennig has the all round game, thanks in part from learning from his father and grandfather. It’s clear Hennig has a big future and indeed so might Kingston. In the present, Hennig retained in 11:44 by pinfall with a Hennig Plex. Joe Hennig makes defence number 1 of his PSW Youth Championship title. 57

Eddie Kingston is improving in performance skills.

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE SECOND DIVISION

Drew McIntyre (2-0-0) v Super Dragon (1-0-1)

The first Grappler’s League action of the night was a surprisingly short match between two PSW mainstays. McIntyre has been on a slow and steady rise while Dragon has somewhat gone off the radar. McIntyre got the win here to keep up his impressive early Grappler’s League showing in 7:40 by pinfall with an Ego Trip. 63

McIntyre and Dragon have great chemistry which lifted the match.

PSW CONTINENTAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Chicago’s Finest (champions) v The Wolves

A very good tag team match though one where the champions almost always looked that little bit better than their challengers. And sure enough, the champions retained in 12:53 when CM Punk defeated Eddie Edwards by submission with an Arm Triangle Choke. Chicago's Finest make defence number 3 of their PSW Continental Tag Team Championship titles. 67

CM Punk looked good.

Davey Richards is improving in rumble skills.

Chicago’s Finest have won their last 7 matches.

Jimmy Yang speaks from the backstage interview area. He calls himself The Champion of Champions and remarks he has a lot of time and respect for Chris Jericho. However, no matter how much help they have given each other the last few weeks, none of it matters as tonight as they off one on one and Yang says he is not going to lose any of his belts. 75

BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL

The Outlaws (BG James, Amazing Red, Cade Thesz & Christopher Daniels) v Incoming Storm (Lance Storm, Desperate Measures & Ricky Steamboat Jr)

The Outlaws were by far the more cohesive team. While Desperate Measures have teamed together for years, Lance Storm and Ricky Steamboat Jr haven’t teamed with the others before and this cohesiveness was the deciding factor in the match in which The Outlaws ended up winning comprehensively.

First gone was Amazing Red, which didn’t end up setting the tone for the rest of the match. Lance Storm got rid of him with a Sharpshooter. It was after that that the remaining Outlaws started to systematically take apart Incoming Storm.

BG James eliminated Aaron Stevens by pinfall, Christopher Daniels put away Yoshihiro Tajiri with Best Moonsault Ever and Cade Thesz beat Ricky Steamboat Jr with a Thesz Press all in the space of three minutes.

This left Lance Storm on his own against three Outlaws. Although he put up a good fight, with the big numbers disadvantage he was eventually overcome after around six minutes when Thesz also hit him with a Thesz Press in 12:54 61

Survivors: BG James, Cade Thesz and Christopher Daniels

Lance Storm is becoming a little stale.

Aaron Stevens is improving in technical skills.

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION

Austin Aries (1-0-1) v John Cena (2-0-0, with Raven)

Cena has been back on the rise since finding his saviour in Raven but he was brought down to Earth with a bump here in what many may consider to be a surprise.

Cena had a good deal of the match, with Raven keeping a keen eye on proceedings but never feeling the need to interject.

Aries though is hard to put away. He may not be the toughest, but he sure is resilient and absorbed everything Cena threw at him. He then surprised Cena in 13:51 and win by pinfall with a fast roll up. Raven did not look happy at ringside. 52

Aries and Cena don’t click and it made for an awkward bout.

ULTIMATE BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL – SURVIVORS RECEIVE CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT LETHAL

Mike Quackenbush, Keiji Sakoda, Iven Michaud & Randy Orton v Kevin Steen, ‘The Outlaw’ Roderick Strong (with BG James), Chris Hero & ‘Highlight Reel’ Rob Van Dam

The big survival match of the night as the survivors from this one go on to Lethal and challenge for the Continental Championship. First of all, the wrestlers are introduced one by one and the teams are revealed and Randy Orton doesn’t look happy, evidently feeling his team is weaker.

Sure enough, his team suffered the first elimination when Kevin Steen hit a Steelalizer. Orton looked even more unhappy.

Keiji Sakoda evened things up when he defeated Roderick Strong, which put BG James in a worse mood than Randy Orton.

Rob Van Dam then regained the advantage for his team, hitting a Five Star Frog Splash on Iven Michaud who is no longer a Wild Man, and now raps as he makes his way to the ring.

Randy Orton then dispatch Chris Hero courtesy of a RKO.

Kevin Steen hit a Pop Up Power Bomb on Keiji Sakoda and RVD followed up with Rolling Thunder to put him away and leave Randy Orton on his own.

Orton’s mood changed from miserable to angry determination. And this mood helped. He first hit a RKO on Rob Van Dam and then a couple of minutes repeated this on Kevin Steen. Three RKOs, three eliminations in 17:12 and Orton is going to Lethal to challenge for the Continental Championship. 71

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

AJ Styles (1-0-1) v Matt Sydal (0-1-1)

A fast paced match that excited throughout much of the contest. In the past, AJ has often had the better of Sydal but more recently the two are far more evenly match. That proved the case again here as neither men had hit their finisher (even though both had tried) before the Grappler’s League Premier Division time limit of twenty minutes expired and the match was drawn. 78

PSW CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

‘The Champion of Champions’ Jimmy Yang (champion) v ‘The Greatest Champion’ Chris Jericho

A great match and a hot crowd. These are no strangers having been partners and opponents and Yang is the one man in PSW that Jericho has not got the better of.

The match went on for a long time and the fans lapped it up. It also had none of the interference that spoiled their Crowning Glory X match. Both men scored near falls and Jericho had Yang locked in the Walls of Jericho twice. Once Yang escaped and the second time he reached the ropes, barely, with his finger tips.

The match passed half an hour and Jericho started to get frustrated and this led to rare mistakes. Yang started to capitalise and was able to retain in 38:17 by pinfall with a Michinoku Driver II. Jericho offered a respectful handshake after the match, which Yang accepted. Jimmy Yang makes defence number 7 of his PSW Continental Championship title. 91 – match of the night
