General diary comments/questions/critiques: I went back and forth on Matt winning and Jeff slowly turning, or the surprise turn to keep the belt on The Unnatural. As both make sense and can lead to future great stories. But I can see this as a transition of the title to Austin, which can then plug Corino back into the title picture and give him something to do.

Okamura is a former professional wrestler who was trained by Ultimo Dragon and worked matches for WAR in the '90s, but in recent years he's transitioned to an out of ring role. He'd worked in a behind the scenes capacity for the now defunct BattlARTS and the Japanese branch of Toryumon, and was doing road agent work for Zero One until Motoko gave him the call. He'll be leaving Zero One behind to book All Japan full time.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Just one day after Okamura's hiring was announced, All Japan held their first PPV of the year on January 22nd. No match truly stood out from the pack, but the main and semi main events scored identical 81 scores. In the first, Hiroshi Hase retained the Triple Crown over Shinya Hashimoto, and in the second Takao Omori and Keiji Mutoh successfully defended the Unified Tag titles against Masanobu Fuchi and Mike Barton. The 69 rated semi main where Jeff Jarrett beat Matt Sydal was not only far and away the best match on the show, but the best match in company history. Had that been the show closer this probably would've been a new high point for them, but instead it received a 54 from the Observer. General diary comments/questions/critiques: Good call with changing the logo, it's something I wouldn't realize that I <em>should do</em> for quite a few years, in your place, lol. While I few that the first few years (specially the first year, I suppose) were sort of the natural progress to whatever was left of WCW in 2001, right now I really feel like this has become it's own thing, looking forward to more of this diary.</p>

Considering he's pre-set to time decline and/or out-right retire in the mod in 2004, if he wants to give him a 5-year contract with obscene monthly pay, you'd probably let him with a huge grin on Bret's face. Granted, he'd bang out 100's in angles every show, but he's not going to give him 100's in the main event where it counts. Plus, he'd likely not push as active wrestler so he'd lose the Monthly Wars.
