Bro, there’s no bigger Titan of Wrestling than Vince Russo......you’re talking about the man that built the empire up from number two to number one in less than a year......took the competition to the very top......then walked away to do it all over again......except THIS time, I get to do it with some of the biggest Icon’s the wrestling business has ever seen......instead of the biggest EGO’S the wrestling business has ever seen.......Hollywood Hogan? The Macho Man Randy Savage......are you frigging kidding me bro.......I’ll take that over prima-donna Boy Toys and Big Lazy’s any day of the week.......if you’re talking about the true Titans of Wrestling, you’re talking about the Mega Powers, not kliq’s.......you’re talking about the men who built the industry, not the ones that grew up watching them.......”</em></p><p> </p><p> .....Russo says that he’s been a Titan since before the Titans even existed.....who do you think has been putting the prices of the puzzle in place behind the scenes?.....who do you think made it possible for WCW to capture one of the hottest talents in all of Wrestling, Jean Paul Levesque?.....(Although that looks like it was news to JPL, who doesn’t look particularly pleased to hear that it was Russo that engineered his exit from the big leagues)......he says that he spent the last 18 months working with the so called “new generation” of wrestler.......</p><p> </p><p> <em>”.......and you can take it from me, the new generation of wrestler is nothing more than an entitled little b!tch.....who thinks he’s the next coming of Jesus Christ himself, just because the dirtsheets told him he was.....well I’ve got news for you “jack”.....you ain’t sh!t......there’s a reason that the WWF dropped down to the number two promotion and that was because all its stars came here.....and the only reason that Vince McMahon isn’t bankrupt right now, is because VINCE RUSSO stepped in and took control.......”</em></p><p> </p><p> .......Russo says that the only men that knew about his involvement in the Titans of Wrestling, were Hollywood Hogan and Randy Savage.....and he HAD hoped to keep it that way......had the rest of the Titans not let things get away from them last night......he says that while they SHOULD have been picking up victories, they were too busy arguing amongst themselves.....they SHOULD be standing here with not only the WCW Title, but the Tag Titles too.....telling The Nasty Boys and the Enforcer that they need to buck their idea’s up, because Vince Russo has got a little black book filled with potential Titans in training just waiting to make the move down south......</p><p> </p><p> <em>”......all three if you are replaceable....so you might want to start making it up at Road Wild, when you take back those WCW Tag Team Titles from the Road Warriors......and to everyone else in the back.......and that includes all you younger talent.......Vince Russo said that the new WCW was going to be the land of opportunity.......it still is......the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest minds this business has ever seen.......or the opportunity to get steamrolled over by the black and white express.......the choice gentlemen, is entirely yours........”</em></p><p> </p><p> ......Hogan takes the mic, saying that he’s all for mentoring some of the stars of he future.....after all, you have to BE a star to MAKE a star, and there’s no bigger star than Hollywood Hogan.......so any of those young talent in the back that want to worship the ground that Hollywood walks on, they are welcome to share in his greatness......and maybe......MAYBE......longggggg after Hollywood retires, they might just be somebody in this business......</p><p> </p><p> <em>”......but as for the Stings......the Lex Lugers......the Warriors of the up the submission victory......Lord Steven isn’t being allowed to rest on his laurels however, as he has a big, big test tonight.....the fighting Irishman, Finlay......</p><p> </p><p> ......these two drives the Brit back into the corner.......obviously the two Noblemen on the outside aren’t going to stand for that, and both slide into the ring, pouncing on Finlay from behind and beating him down to the mat......Regal gets back to his feet, furious at the post match assault and quickly locks on the Regal Stretch, wrenching back on the outnumbered Finlay for all he’s the main event, the upper midcard.....and EVERYONE else who auto pushes at pretty much lower midcard and below......even Riggs and Disco, both of whom have been with the company a few years by this point are barely scraping in as lower midcarders......with that being said, it’s going to be somewhat of an uphill battle to create at least a few credible midcarders.....with that being said, you can expect to see some more of the lower card guys getting some screen time, even if it results in shocking match grades such as this........and believe it or not these two had some good chemistry.....so god knows how bad it could have been without that little note.......anyway.......the babyface side of the roster is the weakest.......Riggs wins.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Scotty Riggs probably the number one non main event babyface right now.....but then that’s not saying much, when outside of Diamond Dallas Page his only competition is Jim Duggan and Brad Armstrong......</p><p> </p><p> ......Gene says that after finally putting the challenge of VK Wallstreet behind him, where does a Chris Benoit go from here?.....obviously talking isn’t Benoit’s strong point, but he cuts a half decent promo here......he says that he’s heard what Vince Russo has had to say, but as far as he’s concerned, this is WCW......and “Titans” don’t matter in World Championship Wrestling......WRESTLERS matter......and as far as he is concerned, there’s no better WRESTLER on the planet than Chris Benoit.....and if this so called “new” WCW is really all about opportunity, then Chris Benoit will EARN a Championship opportunity......not by kissing Hollywood Hogan’s ass.....but by doing what he does best......WRESTLING......and winning matches.</p><p> </p><p> up against the Blue Bloods pairing of Earl Robert Eaton and The Duke, Douglas Williams......his Lordship has decided to stay in the back for this one, clearly wary of anymore appearances by Rick Martel, while (fat) Teddy Long is out with his team.....</p><p> </p><p> ......this match was pretty good considering the fact that Eaton is the biggest name out of all four men.....The Duke is certainly benefiting from teaming up with this Tag Team veteran, and he gets better every week.....he’s still relatively new to the sport however so it’s his partner that carries the workload for their team.......Miller and Train are working out pretty well as a team, which is fortunate for them, because I’m not exactly a fan of either so they’d be unlikely to see much success as singles stars......but then to be fair they didn’t see much success tonight either, as the Noblemen picked up the victory with their new finishing manoeuvre “London’s Falling” which is essentially a variation of Demolitions “Demolition Decapitation” only instead of an elbow from the second rope, it’s a backbreaker/legdrop combination, with Eaton dropping the leg from the top rope.</p><p> </p><p> one time First Lady of WCW and current Walking Riot, Missy Hyatt......obviously nothing was settled at the Bash at the Beach, so these two mammoth men will clash one more time this evening.....</p><p> </p><p> .....tonight’s match goes much the same as last nights, with Awesome not backing down an inch from the offence of the seven foot former WCW Champion, and The Giant more than happy to keep providing that offence.....not that it’s all one way by any stretch of the imagination, Awesome gets more than his fair share of the match....and with Missy directing traffic on the outside Awesome looks more dangerous than ever, and looks to be creeping closer and closer to a huge upset victory.........</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> ......at least he did...... until Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow come running down the aisle.....and with both men having fallen victim to Awesome in the last few weeks, they are clearly looking for revenge as they hit the ring, where they begin ping-ponging Awesome around the squared circle with dulling right hands......obviously however that gives the official little choice but to call for the bell.....and Mike Awesome has indeed defeated The Giant.....even if it is a mostly hollow disqualification victory.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Mike Awesome (via Disqualification)</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote least until Missy grabs her man by the ankle and drags him to the relative safety of the outside......I say relative safety because it looks as though Vader and Bigelow are about to follow him out.......at least until an angry Giant grabs both men by the shoulder and spins them around......</p><p> </p><p> ......it looks as though the Giant is not happy that they have not only interfered in his match, but actually cost him a victory here against Awesome......in fact, The Giant is so angry that an argument soon breaks out.....followed by a shoving match that looks as though it’s about to descend into a brawl........</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="ZCmEKxR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ZCmEKxR.jpg" there with their Wrestlemania VII epic or their Summerslam 92 clash, it certainly wasn’t far behind.....and certainly (as far as WCW are concerned) Pay Per View quality......</p><p> </p><p> ........in fact it was only really the ending that let the match down, because after a hard fought battle that left both men spent, the Warrior was able to get Savage high up in the air with a Gorilla <p>A really strong go home show this week ahead of Sunday’s In Your House Pay Per View......and that’s no small feet when you consider that not only was this (possibly) the first episode of Raw to not feature a single KLiQ member in nearly two years, but the main event featured Scott Steiner and Lance Storm in a one on one contest......and that’s not a knock on Lance, Lance is a tremendous worker, but he’s a good three spots below Scotty on the pecking order, which is why I was hesitant to have this main event the show.....but in the end I trusted my Champion, and Scotty repaid me in leaps and bounds with his performance.....so much so that I’m really excited to see what he and Jericho can do on Sunday......anyway, speaking of Sunday......</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="NKyT4Fx.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NKyT4Fx.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Preview for WWF In Your House, Week 3, July 1997</strong> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Championship Match</strong></p><p> Scott Steiner © vs. Chris Jericho</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Tag Team Championship Match</strong></p><p> The New Age Outlaws © vs. The Hardy Boys</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Intercontinental Championship Match:</strong></p><p><strong> Loser Leaves the WWF</strong></p><p> Faarooq © vs. Mr. Perfect</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF European Championship Match</strong></p><p> Sean Waltman © vs. The Rock</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Light Heavyweight Championship Match:</strong></p><p><strong> Triple Threat Match</strong></p><p> Scorpio © vs Rey Mysterio vs. Dean Malenko</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Steve Austin vs. Ahmed Johnson</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> Ken Shamrock vs. Rich Steiner</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> British Bulldog & Jim Neidhart vs. The Hart Foundation</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> <strong>WWF Tag Team Titles: #1 Contenders Match</strong></p><p> Al Snow & Chris Candido vs. Goldust & Marcus vs. Edge & Christian vs. The Headbangers</p><p> Comments:</p><p> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>

WWF Light Heavyweight Championship Match:

Triple Threat Match

Scorpio © vs Rey Mysterio vs. Dean Malenko

Comments: Title goes back to Rey, just because I'm not sure who Scorpio goes towards next. Deano has unfinished business with Jericho, too

Steve Austin vs. Ahmed Johnson

Comments:Incredibly difficult here, but I think Austin has more enemies than Ahmed does. Somebody screws him over and sends Ahmed towards Steiner

It's Sunday night, we are live on Pay Per View and it's time to once again welcome the World Wrestling Federation, "In Your House" for our final monthly offering ahead of the hottest event of the summer.....because Summerslam is only a month away, and things are beginning to heat up here in the WWF.......tonight's show opens with the usual hype video, featuring short recaps on our main matches, before we go down to good old Jim Ross and Ravishing Rick Rude at ringside. The two men welcome us to the show, before letting us know that we are in store for a great night of action here.....pride is on the line.....titles are on the line.....and in the case of our Intercontinental Championship match, careers are on the line......and as far as Rick Rude is concerned, he can't think of a better place to watch Mr. Perfects last match here in the WWF, than right here at ringside. Jim Ross disagrees, stating that Mr. Perfect has a "perfect" track record when it comes to "losers leave the WWF" matches, having sent the Nature Boy Ric Flair packing from the World Wrestling Federation in early 1993.....and after tonight, the Nation of Domination may be looking for new leadership......

......with that being said, the screeching guitar and boo's of the crowd signal the arrival of the Hart Foundation for our opening contest......it's time to get this show on the road.....

....and that opening contest features The Hart Foundation, Bret and Owen Hart, facing off against.......well......The Hart Foundation.....The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, and Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart......and this is set to be a real family feud, with the Bulldog and the Anvil looking to gain a measure of revenge on their dastardly brothers in-law, after Bret and Owen decided to turn on both men, in what they justified as a pre-emptive strike....."screwing" Smith and Neidhart before they had a chance to screw THEM......although in fairness, neither Davey Boy or "The Anvil" had shown any indication that they were planning on turning on their brothers in-law.......in fact, after Monday Nights antics that saw Lance Storm ejected from the WWF, you could argue that the only ones doing any screwing around here are the Harts and their new found compadres, Chris Jericho and Test.......

.......Owen Hart and The British Bulldog had a fantastic match this past Monday, it really proved nothing....because while the Bulldog WAS victorious, it was a cheap disqualification victory, after the Hitman got involved in the match. Truthfully, the quality of that Raw match should have garnered these four men a higher place on the card....my only major concern was how well Jim Neidhart would perform due to his limited in ring action in recent years, coupled with his....ahem, lets just call them "personal demons".........and while Neidhart was certainly the weakest link of the match, I shouldn't have been too worried, with both Hart boys (particularly Bret) putting in outstanding performances.....

......as you would expect, the two powerhouses control the opening portion of this match, with Neidhart and Davey using their strength to put the Hart Brothers in the back foot. Owen attempts to use his superior speed and agility to his advantage, but the Anvil soon puts a stop to that when he catches a high cross body attempt in mid air, before driving him into the mat with a powerslam.....the Hitman doesn't fare much better, charging at the Bulldog, only to be greeted by an overhead press.....but instead of dropping Bret on the mat, Davey drops him down crotch first on the top rope, then sends him crashing to the outside with a running clothesline....

.....the Harts do manage to gain control of the match.....although it is by dirty tactics, after Bret reverses an Irish Whip attempt, sending the Anvil into the ropes, where Owen nails him with a kick to the back of the head.....and just like that, they cut the ring in half and go to work on their brother in-law. Since both Bret and Owen are known for the Sharpshooter, it's probably no surprise that they go to work on the legs and lower back of the Anvil....and while both Harts are more than capable of winning their matches cleanly, they clearly aren't averse to utilising a few dirty tricks to retain the advantage here.....of course, sometimes all the dirty tricks in the world can't compensate for pure power......and as Owen goes to lock in the Sharpshooter, Neidhart is able to kick him off with such force that the younger Hart flys backwards, crashing heads with his brother on the apron, who gets knocked to the floor as Owen collapses to the mat.....giving the Anvil just enough time to make it to his corner, where the Bulldog is waiting with the tag.....

.....from there it all broke down, as Davey Boy went on rampage, ploughing through Bret and Owen with clothesline after clothesline, before finally pressing Owen high overhead, before tossing him at the Hitman as both Harts collapse in a heap.....Anvil soon rejoins the fray, and soon a pier six brawl breaks out, as these four men unload on each other both in the ring and out of it..................

emOqLPr.jpg

......and with all that chaos, it was no wonder that the official missed this man running down the aisle......as Test slides into the ring behind Neidhart.....he comes flying across the ring with that Running Big Boot, that connects right to the back of the head of The Anvil.....Test beats a hasty retreat as Bret slaps the Sharpshooter onto Neidhart.....with the official finally returning his attention to the ring, just in time to see The Anvil furiously submitting......this one is over.

Winner(s): The Hart Foundation

o8GrTsa.jpgqQmwebo.jpgAvJwLJZ.jpgy62fRn3.jpg

......Bret doesn't look as though he has any intention of releasing the Sharpshooter however....in fact he pulls back even harder, adding even more pressure to a Jim Neidhart who is now screaming out in agony....Bulldog tries to get into the ring to save him, but Owen drives him into the ring steps, stopping him in his tracks....

....the official tries desperately to drag the Hitman off his one time tag partner, but he can't budge him, and eventually has to call for backup as a slew of other officials come running down the aisle, and after what feels like an eternity, finally manage to pry Bret off Neidhart......

......the backstage medical personnel rush out to attend to Neidhart, who looks to be in serious trouble here.....and as Jim Ross speculates that we might not be seeing the Anvil for quite some time following that, Bret and Owen tell a nearby camera that this is what happens when you put second rate wrestlers in there with superior Canadian athletes....people get hurt.....and the Hart Foundation are just getting warmed up.

Triple Threat Match

The Light Heavyweight Championship is on the line next, as the Nation of Domination's Scorpio puts the gold on the line against both Rey Mysterio AND Dean Malenko, in a triple threat match....there's no eliminations in this, it's one fall to a finish, which means the Champion doesn't even have to be defeated to lose his Championship......

.....Scorpio comes prepared however.....Faarooq claimed that the Nation were going to be victorious tonight by any means necessary, and it seems as though they were serious.....because with Nelson on the shelf, the big man Kama is out here to back up his stablemate.........

LIoPOQU.jpgtVfGex3.jpg

......or at least that WAS the plan.....until Mr. McMahon made his way out onto the stage, along with his problem solver Kane.....he says that it's a funny thing, but all he's heard from the Nation for the last year is how "the man" is holding them back....."the man" is not giving them a fair shake......"the man" is not treating the Nation fairly........

".......well, here's a newsflash for you.....I am "The Man".......and I don't take to kindly to those kind of aspersions being cast against my good name......."

......Vince says that if the Nation REALLY want to see what "the man" is capable of, they should keep testing him......but for now, here's a little taste......ALL members of the Nation of Domination are barred from ringside tonight for the duration of the matches that each member is involved in......and if the Nation do not adhere to that ruling.......they will ALL be fired on the spot.......and if Kama doesn't like that......if he's going to cause.....a problem........well, Vince has his own personal little seven foot problem solver right here in Kane......

......Kama kinda does look like he has a problem with that.....he is (or was) the supreme fighting machine after all.....but in the end he really has little choice other than to return to the back, leaving Scorpio to fight his own battles......

......with the match finally underway, it was time to find out who was going to be walking out here tonight with that Light Heavyweight Championship around their waist. The match itself was certainly a good mixture of fast, high impact action with plenty of scientific groundwork (from Malenko obviously) and with all three men in the ring at one time, it was pretty much non-stop from opening bell to closing......and in all honestly, a hell of a lot better than I was expecting......in fact it was on par with that excellent opening match up.......

.......Scorpio was certainly put under pressure here, with Mysterio and Malenko happy to work together in the opening portion of this one, in fact he hardly had any offence at all.....at least until Malenko went to make the cover, because obviously where this was one fall to a finish, Mysterio broke up the pin fall attempt, and from there all co-operation went out of the window......which you would THINK meant Scorpio would get a breather, but now instead of working together to punish Scorpio so that they can WIN the match, they’re working together to REMOVE Scorpio from the match, so that they can focus on fighting with each other......

......eventually Scorpio decides that since every time he enters the ring, he finds himself tossed back out, he may as well just stay on the floor and let his opponents kill each other.....a tactic which almost wins him the match at one point too, because after Mysterio puts Malenko down with a hurricanrana from the top, he slides into the ring and tries to steal the pin, only for Mysterio to break it up at the last possible second......

......from there it develops into a more traditional triple threat, with each man looking to pick up the victory........of course, the other (somewhat unwritten) rule of these three way matches, are that since it’s one fall to a finish, the disqualification rule isn’t really in effect.........

emOqLPr.jpg

........and while the Nation are barred from ringside, Mr. McMahon said nothing about Test......who once again makes his way out......

......even Scorpio looks to be confused as to his reason for being there......but a Big Boot to Mysterio, followed by a second Big Boot to Malenko, makes you think he’s there on the order of Chris Jericho.....who while clearly having unfinished business with Malenko, clearly has bigger things on his mind tonight.......following the attack on his two opponents, Scorpio braves himself for the Big Boot coming his way......except it never comes.....Test simply tells him to thank Jericho for the assist, as he turns and exits to the back.......

.......Malenko is down, Rey is down......Scorpio is up.....and GOES up.......up to the top, where he nails Mysterio with the 450 Splash which is more than enough to guarantee victory here.

Winner: ......and Still WWF Light Heavyweight Champion........Scorpio

WWF Tag Team Championship: #1 Contenders Match

From a three way match we move onto a four way Tag match.....and it’s a match that’s been growing week by week thanks to a throwaway comment by Jim Ross......it was during a match between Al Snow and Chris Candido facing Goldust and Marcus that JR casually mentioned that the winner of that match would have a good shot at becoming the next team to challenge for the WWF Tag Team Titles......Edge and Christian obviously heard that and decided that they wanted in on the match, causing a triple threat tag match the following week........which in turn was interrupted by the Headbangers (making their Raw debut) who were clearly looking to start their WWF career with a bang (no pun intended)......

........which brings us to tonight, where all four teams have been put into the match.....with the winner OFFICIALLY being named the number one Contenders to the WWF Tag Team Titles......and much as with our last match, this is one fall to a finish, with only two men being legal at any one time......so getting into the match is a priority, which means there are blind tags and double/triple team moves aplenty.......

......the Headbangers in particular impress.....and although while Rick Rude is a little taken aback by their unusual attire, when you are in the ring with Goldust and Marcus, wearing a skirt and a splash of face paint hardly makes you stand out......couple that with the sight of Al Snow having a full blown conversation with a mannequin head and you actually begin to look rather normal.....

.......this was actually the worst match of the night, partly due to the unknown factor around the Headbangers, and partly due to the finish......

0VN77xg.jpgGDTWVB2.jpgm0VMdA6.jpgi4fICHd.jpg

.........which once again saw the match descend into chaos, as not one, but two teams came running down......Ron and Don, the forgotten Harris Boys.......as well as Wrath and Crush, The Dogs of War who are clearly impatient at waiting for their master Raven to provide them with a Championship opportunity.......and as this four way match breaks out into a six way brawl, once again the official has no option but to throw this one out, as our never ending quest to crown new number one Contenders continues.

If the crowd are disappointed by the non-finish here, they aren’t disappointed for long....because the action doesn’t end just because the match has.....if anything there’s even more action post bell as these six teams engage in what can only be described as a mini riot, brawling in and around the ring with body’s flying everywhere.......

IWg8l45.jpgVEZ6DQZ.jpg

.......and it’s clearly open season for tag teams here in the WWF, as two muscle bound strangers come running down the aisle to join in the fray.......Jim Ross informs us that these two men are called Rage and Kaos, and have been honing their skills in the minor leagues, but clearly this team known as High Voltage are looking to make a name for themselves on the main stage......and as the two men instantly show their strength as they start tossing people around left and right, Rick Rude says he doesn’t care what their names are.....they look great and he likes them already.......

5PCMWnI.jpgKxK0EnW.jpg

.......and clearly not happy to sit back and watch the fun unfold.....Harlem Heat soon join the sea of humanity at ringside......Booker and Stevie were originally pencilled in to face the Nation of Domination’s Kama and Nelson tonight, but injury to Nelson put an end to that.....obviously the Heat have decided to take matters into their own hands to get themselves seen here tonight, live on Pay Per View......

.......I think it’s safe to say that whoever walks out tonight as the WWF Tag Team Champions, be it the New Age Outlaws or The Hardy Boys, there is going to be a queue of challengers a mile long waiting to line up and take their shot.......and as these eight teams continue to tear it up at ringside, we go to a video recapping Sean Waltman’s European Title victory over the Rock, leaving security to attempt to restore some order in the arena.

It’s time for the European Championship to take center stage now, as Sean Waltman puts his (very) newly won title on the line against former Champion, The Rock......and while The Rock has already bemoaned the fact that he lost his title after being forced to defend it on quite literally a minutes notice, he’s soon complaining even louder at the fact that while his Nation brothers are barred from ringside, Scott Hall is permitted to be in the corner of Waltman......as the official points out however, Mr. McMahon said nothing about the Wolfpac being barred from ringside.......

.......in Hall’s defence he plays no part in this match other than in a cheerleader capacity, offering advice and encouragement to Waltman.....this was a pretty good match too, with the two men being given plenty of time to work with and each having equal opportunities to shine.....The Rock had plenty of time to shine from a character standpoint too, with his larger than life personality really starting to show through in his matches, taunting and insulting Hall while at the same time punishing his opponent.......

........Waltman isn’t going down without a fight however, and it’s not long before he’s back in this one, leaving the Rock reeling and probably wishing that at least one Nation member was at ringside with him.......

.......which is why he fails to spot the Heartbreak Kid climbing into the ring and taking Waltman’s head off with the Sweet Chin Music.......

......he DOES however manage to see The Rock drag Waltman to his feet and deliver a (probably unnecessary) Rock Bottom.....and three seconds later, The Rock is a two time European Champion.....and much like in our Light Heavyweight Championship Match, the Nation of Domination played no part in it.

.......Flair and Anderson cut their beating short and stand beside Michaels as the three of them mock Nash for the length of time it takes him to get down to ringside, with Michaels even offering to hold the ropes open for him to enter the ring......Nash bats the laughing Heartbreak Kid away with his crutch however, and manages to climb into the ring under his own power......although quite what he’s going to do now he’s there is anyone’s guess as the Faux Horsemen surround the unsteady giant......

......Michaels tells Nash that he should have stayed at home and waited until Summerslam......because now, they’re going to make sure that he doesn’t even MAKE it to Summerslam......as Anderson charges at him........only to charge straight into a Big Boot!.........Nash whips around and nails the Nature Boy with one of the crutches, before snapping the second over the back of the Enforcer, before turning to face a far less confident looking Shawn Michaels, with a predatory look on his face.......

.......Jim Ross says that this was clearly all a ruse, and Kevin Nash looks to be at almost 100%.......a fact that The Heartbreak Kid has clearly realised, as he bolts from the ring and up to the safety of the aisle, where Flair and Anderson soon join him......

From there we head backstage, where Dok Hendrix is standing by with the WWF Tag Team Champions, as they get set to put the Titles on the line against Matt and Jeff, The Hardy Boys.......but judging by tonight, Dok says that should they be victorious this evening, there are a LOT of teams waiting for a shot at those Tag Team belts......

After that four way Tag Team match earlier in the night, an explosive brawl that followed featuring pretty much all the Tag teams on the roster (save for a few) it was time to see what all those teams were fighting for, as Bad Ass Billy Gunn and The Road Dogg Jesse James step into the ring with Matt and Jeff Hardy, to determine who is going to be the team to beat going forward here......

.......The Outlaws have come a long way in a short length of time, going from floundering singles competitors to the number one team in the company in the space of around six months......not bad going when you consider the Hardy Boys have been climbing the ladder as a team for the last few years, and have only really recently broken out as a threat to the Tag Team gold......

.......and they were a threat here too.....with Jeff Hardy in particular fired up after the assault he received at the hands of the Outlaws on Monday night, throwing caution to the wind and sacrificing his body in an attempt to secure victory here.....unfortunately it was that same devil may cry attitude that ultimately lead to his downfall here.....attempting to hit Billy Gunn with the Swanton Bomb......Road Dogg was able to drag his partner out of harms way at the last second, and as Jesse James knocks Matt Hardy off the apron, Billy nails Jeff with the Famouser for the one, the two and the three.

......Billy continues to put a beating to Jeff, while The Road Dogg follows Matt to the outside, where he pulls a pair of handcuffs from under the ring, before securing the elder Hardy to the bottom rope, before tossing a chair in the ring......which Gunn lays on the mat......then drives Jeff’s skull into the steel with a second Famouser.....

.......The Road Dogg pulls a nearby camera man close, telling us that now ”....it’s time to take out the trash.....” as he walks up the aisle and disappears into the back, while Billy follows slowly, dragging Jeffs lifeless body up the ramp behind him before dumping him unceremoniously on the stage and following his partner to the back........

.......there’s a pause of about 30 seconds before the Outlaws reappear......pushing a huge Dumpster in front of them......Jim Ross goes crazy, asking what the hell these two could be thinking.......but we don’t have to wait long to find out, as they open the lid to the dumpster, drag young Jeff to his feet......and toss him inside, slamming it closed........

Intercontinental Championship: Loser Leaves the WWF Match

Any match with a Championship on the line is a huge match for both competitors......but when you throw into the mix the losers entire career, then the match takes on a whole new level of importance......and that’s exactly what is happening here......as Vince McMahon uses his position to punish Faarooq for his constant accusations of holding down the Nation by forcing him to not only put his title on the line, but his career as well........but in an effort to showcase his fairness, not only is the champions career on the line, but the challengers too.....the difference is, Mr. Perfect CHOSE to be in this match.....while Faarooq had no say in the matter......

......why would anyone choose to put their career on the line I hear you ask? Well for Perfect, it’s a simple case of wanting to prove that his is STILL absolutely perfect......and if he’s NOT......if he looses here to Faarooq......then he feels that he no longer deserves to be in the WWF anyway......

.......the fact that the Nation are still barred from ringside is a huge bonus to Perfect, who with stakes these high would surely have had their interference to contend with.....but now it’s one on one for the duration of the match.......and this really was another fantastic match on a night of great matches......Faarooq isn’t one for having especially bad matches, but his truly great ones are few and far between....this was one of the greats, and he can thank the ring technician Mr. Perfect for that, because Perfect wrestles like his very life (not just his career) depended on it......

......with the importance of the outcome here we made sure to let both men get an equal amount of offence in, and both men looked to have the match won on more than one occasion as the near falls came thick and fast......but in the end, Mr. Perfect was able to position himself for the Perfect-Plex, driving Faarooq into the mat and applying the “perfect” bridge.........

”......because there’s only room for winners in this ring......and despite “The Man’s” best efforts.....that’s exactly what the Nation of Domination are.......and you can try to hold us back......and you can bar us from ringside......but the Nation always rises......by any means necessary.......and “the man”.......the Mac-Man......he wants to recognise that......”

Next up it’s time for Rich Steiner to put his money where his mouth is.....as after several months of goading his opponent tonight, it’s time for him to step into the ring with the Worlds Most Dangerous Man, former UFC fighter, Ken Shamrock.....and truth be told, while he does have a few matches under his belt now, this is certainly the biggest test of Shamrocks fledgling WWF career......Rich might not have had the success that his brother has had recently, but he IS a former Intercontinental Champion, and despite the gaudy suits and tacky jewellery, he’s still one of the toughest fighters in the WWF......

.......of course when it comes to fighting, Ken Shamrock knows a thing or two as well.....in fact he’s a champion fighter.....and make no mistake, this was a fight from start to finish.....it was stiff.....it was ugly......it had interference........well.....actually......it didn’t.....although not for the want of trying on the part of Ted DiBiase.....who as things began to tip in the way of Shamrocks favour, indicated to the back, frantically calling out his Corporation members.......except they never come......and a split screen shows us why......as Bradshaw can be seen stepping over the fallen figure of Jeff Jarrett.....who’s lying in the debris of one of his own acoustic equalisers......it looks as though Bradshaw has been playing a few “hits” of his own.....quite where Southern Justice are is anyone’s guess.....and probably something that Ted DiBiase will be keen to find out......after he’s helped Rich Steiner to the back.......because in the midst of all that commotion, Shamrock locked his opponent into the Ankle Lock, giving notorious tough guy Steiner little choice but to concede, as Shamrock picks up yet another impressive victory.

Winner: Ken Shamrock

It’s back to Dok Hendrix now, who’s standing by with Stone Cold Steve Austin ahead of what is surely going to be a monumental brawl with Ahmed Johnson......Dok says that with the tear Ahmed has been on since Wrestlemania, most people would be doing everything they can to AVOID the 1997 King of the Ring winner.....not be actively looking to step in the ring with them.......Austin tells Dok that he ain’t most people......

”......never have been, never will be......what I am, despite what Ahmed Johnson might think......is THE toughest SoB in the dubbya dubbya eff.......Ahmed, you might be big, you might be bad......but you're also stupid if you think stepping in the ring with Stone Cold Steve Austin on ANY night of the week is a good idea......what’s going to happen tonight, is Steve Austin is gonna whip your ass up and down that arena so bad, that even your beady eyed, scrawny little manager is going to feel it......see you’ve got something I want......and that’s a shot at the World Wrestling Federation Title......and the only reason you’re facing me tonight and not at Summerslam, is because Bret Hart and his little b@stard brother stuck their nose in MY Title match at the King of the Ring......rest assured, those two little jackasses are gonna get what’s owed, you can count on that.......but not before I stomp a mud hole in your ass.....put your oily little ass on the shelf.....take your little title shot.....and walk all the way to Summerslam.....because one way or another, I will be the World Wrestling Federation Champion.......and that’s the bottom line.....because Sto.........”

........because Bret and Owen Hart burst into the shot, nailing Austin from behind and beating the venom out of the rattlesnake.....punctuated by Bret snatching the microphone off Dok Hendrix and driving it between the eyes of Austin, busting him wide open......telling him that he should have kept his mouth shut......because he’s going to regret the day he EVER screwed Bret Hart......before tossing the microphone down onto Austin’s fallen bloodied body, as Ahmed Johnson’s music begins to play in the arena.......

.....and the 1997 King of the Ring winner makes his way down the aisle, along with manager James E. Cornette, to a chorus of boos from this rowdy crowd.......and as Jim Ross rightly points out, stepping into the ring with Ahmed Johnson at the best of times is a dangerous thing to do.......let alone when you’ve just been busted wide open less than two minutes ago.......

.......the glass shatters and Stone Cold’s music starts to play......but while the crowd erupts, there’s no sign of the Rattlesnake.....Rick Rude claims that Austin must have seen sense for once and decided to chicken out of this match......and as Austin’s music comes to an abrupt end, Jim Ross is inclined to agree, although he calls it smart.....stating that Austin hasn’t ever “chickened out” of anything a day in his life.......Ahmed struts around the ring like an angry bull......clearly he was looking for a fight tonight not a forfeit victory.........but then out of nowhere the glass shatters once more.......

......as a bloody Stone Cold Steve Austin comes marching (rather unsteadily) out from the back, shrugging off his leather waistcoat as he goes and climbing into the ring to come face to face with Ahmed.......Austin is a bloody mess......and the official is reluctant to start the match.......at least until Stone Cold threatens to whip him like the stupid sumbitch that he is if he doesn’t ring the damn bell.......and so reluctantly (on the part of the official) this one is underway......

.......Jim Ross says that Steve Austin is showing here that he’s tougher than a $2.00 steak......and proving exactly why he claims to be the toughest SoB in the WWF.......Rick Rude says that Austin is dumber than a $2.00 steak to be even considering competing against Ahmed Johnson in this condition......and as the bell rings, and these two bulls charge at each other, Rick Rude might be right.....because Ahmed zero’s in straight on the ugly gash between Austin’s eyes, hammering him with blows that make the blood flow even more......

......he backs Austin into the corner, nailing him with punch after punch, until it looks as though the official is about to step in and put a stop to this......when Austin suddenly reaches out and spins Ahmed around so that HE is in the corner.....and let’s loose with an absolute barrage of right hands.....stopping only to flip the big man the double bird, before stomping him down to the mat......Austin is busted.....Austin is bloody......but by god, Steve Austin is here to fight......

......and make no mistake, that’s exactly what this was......a knock down, drag out fight......and while it wasn’t a technical masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, the crowd absolutely ate it up......and what these two lacked in finesse, they made up for in pure action.....as they beat seven shades of sh!t out of each other, until both men were covered in Steve Austin’s blood......

......Ahmed had a number of prolonged periods of dominance throughout the match.....Austin had lost so much blood that he simply couldn’t sustain any real offence for any extended periods of time......the Rattlesnake refused to stay down however.....and every time it looked like Ahmed had him beat, Austin dug a little deeper and dragged himself back into the match.....and if nothing else, there was no doubting Steve Austin’s heart after witnessing this showing.......and after he was able to shake himself free of a Pearl River Plunge attempt, he was even manage to drop Ahmed with the Stone Cold Stunner.......except there was no one there to make the count.......

......damage done (for the second time) the Harts leave.......just as Ahmed recovers enough to drag Stone Cold back to his feet.....where he delivers a huge Pearl River Plunge......and as he covers Austin on he blood soaked canvas, even the Rattlesnake can’t kick out after that, as the official counts the one.....the two......and mercifully for Austin, the three.

There’s an extended hype video highlighting our upcoming main event (while they attempt to reorganise the ring area following Steve Austin’s bloodbath) and then it’s time for our final match of the evening......and if anyone questioned Scott Steiner’s ability to carry the WWF Championship, then they should bear in mind that not only was he able to carry (lower midcarder) Lance Storm to an excellent showing on Raw, but there have been two true five star classics this year......and they both involved Scott Steiner defending the WWF Title......April’s In Your House Clash with Shawn Michaels that the Observer has already pegged as the match of the year.......and this match right here tonight, which could well wind up taking that honour, because this was a true classic......

......Jericho has argued that he is bigger than the Light Heavyweight division, and worthy of main eventing ANY show.......and if his showing here tonight is any indication, he may well be right......especially since the addition of Test to his arsenal, and the bodyguard accompanies Jericho to the ring for this one tonight.......not that Steiner could give a damn.....he just likes to fight.....one man, two men.....ten men.....it’s all the same to him......

.......the bell rings and Jericho is straight in Steiner’s face, letting his inner cockiness shine through as he suggests that it’s actually he that has the better body......flexing his biceps at Steiner, who actually laughs......the two lock up and Scotty instantly sends Jericho flying backwards on his ass halfway across the ring, before busting out a double bicep pose of his own and calling his opponent a “little b!tch” who’s entire arm is smaller that vein popping out of Scott’s massive peak right there.......

.......Jericho is not happy about that and charges at his opponent, but he runs straight into a standing Steinerline that plants him back on his ass......a backdrop on the second attempt.......and on the third time of trying, Scotty simply sidesteps him and uses Jericho’s own momentum to send him flying over the top rope and to the floor, where the Ayatollah of RocknRolla becomes the Ayatollah of B!tch Fits.....throwing a monumental tantrum on the outside......

.......Jericho takes his time getting back into the ring, regaining his composure before finally managing to catch Steiner with an arm drag.....instead of capitalising on it however he lets out a loud “Yeah Baby” followed my a little Mohammed Ali inspired fancy footwork.......only to get decked immediately with a running Steinerline that sends him flying back to the outside, where another temper tantrum ensues.....

.......Test jumps up onto the apron to start hurling threats at Steiner, who knocks him back to the floor with a big right hand......the distraction however was enough that Jericho was able to re-enter the ring and charge at the Champion, hitting him with a running knee to the small of the back, and this time it’s Steiner that finds himself on the outside......and as Jericho attracts the attention of the official, Test grabs hold of Steiner and drives his skull into the steel ring post, before rolling him back into the ring......

.......now it’s Jericho on the offence.....and he revels in showboating for the disapproving crowd, letting them know that the best Light Heavyweight Champion of all time is about to become the greatest Heavyweight Champion of all time too, as he goes to work punishing the lower back of Big Poppa Pump, with Rick Rude proclaiming that he’s setting Steiner up for that Walls of Jericho submission......Jericho whips Steiner hard into the turnbuckles, scooping him up as he staggers back towards the middle of the ring and drops him across his knee with a big backbreaker....which he follows up immediately with a Lionsault across the back of Steiner, who is laying face first on the mat, picking up his first near fall of the match.....

......he tosses the WWF Champion to the floor (again distracting the official so that Test can drive Steiner’s spine into the ring post) then follows him out and drives Scotty’s face into the steps a series of times, before whipping him hard into the crowd barrier.....Jericho rolls back into the ring and waits for Steiner to wearily pull himself back up onto the apron, where Jericho hits his patented springboard dropkick that sends the Champion crashing back down to the floor (where he again distracts the official so that Test can hit a big bodyslam to Steiner on the outside, causing Jim Ross to complain that this has turned into essentially a handicap match)......

......back inside the ring and Jericho locks in an abdominal stretch, using his free arm to drive and dig his elbow into the ribs of Steiner......who is eventually able to counter with a hiptoss, but unable to capitalise on it, dropping down to all fours in exhaustion where Jericho drops a big elbow onto the exposed lower back......before signalling that it’s all over as he grabs hold of Steiner’s legs, looking to turn him over for the Walls of Jericho.......Steiner still has some fight in him however, and manages to kick Jericho off before he can apply the hold, and as Jericho advances on him once more, he grabs the Challenger by the waist band of his tights and yanks him through the middle rope and down to the floor......

......Test is straight back up onto the apron (much to the chagrin of Jim Ross, who claims that this is getting ridiculous) but Steiner knocks him straight back down and turns to see Jericho climbing back in, one leg on the apron, one leg in the ring.....and he kicks the middle rope hard, causing Jericho to cry out in pain, dropping to the mat clutching at his groin, as Steiner too drops to the mat in exhaustion.....Rick Rude claims that Steiner is blatantly cheating there, and the official should do something about it......Jim Ross on the other hand argues that after all the interference by Test, that was more than justified on the part of Scotty Steiner......

.......the two men get back to their feet and Steiner begins to slowly fight his way back into this one, blocking a number of right hand attempts by Jericho and connecting with his own......Jericho goes for an Irish Whip but Steiner reverses it and it’s Jericho that runs the ropes.......he ducks under an attempted Steinerline but gets caught with a Frankensteiner on the rebound that would have given Big Poppa Pump the victory, had Test not placed Jericho’s foot on the bottom rope at the count of two.......Steiner is angrily to his feet and shouts something frankly unbroadcastable towards Test, before signalling that it’s time for the Steiner Recliner..........which AGAIN brings Test up onto the apron........

o8GrTsa.jpgqQmwebo.jpg

.........as well as the Hart Foundation.....Bret and Owen, out from the back.......Jim Ross is beside himself now......asking exactly how many men Scott Steiner is going to have to face tonight? Rick Rude in the other hand condemns Ross for making assumptions......claiming that the Harts are only here to watch their good friend Chris Jericho win the WWF Championship.......except, they don’t get to watch much of anything.........

qwukyYN.jpg

........because a still bloody Stone Cold Steve Austin runs out before they even make it halfway down the aisle......with a steel chair in hand which he absolutely waffles Owen Hart with.....before diving at the Hitman and unleashing hell with a flurry of blows.......brawling all the way to the back with him and eliminating Bret Hart from the occasion before he can even make it to ringside........

........Bret Hart is gone......Owen Hart is down......Steiner turns and decks Test once more, sending him crashing to the floor......he turns to pick up Jericho, but Jericho is already up.......way up in fact.....perched on the top turnbuckle......but before he can leap Steiner shakes the ropes, and Jericho crotches himself for the second time of the match, this time landing on the top rope........

........Scotty climbs up to meet him.......hits him with a series of right hands......and then lets fly with a huge top rope Frankensteiner that sends both competitors crashing to the mat........

........Steiner drags himself over to Jericho......and locks on the Steiner Recliner right in the middle of the ring.......and while Jericho fights it as much as he can, he eventually has no choice but to concede......and this five star match is finally over.

Winner: .....and Still WWF Champion........Scott Steiner

Rating: A* (100)

The official hands a weary Scott Steiner his WWF Championship.....as Test reaches into the ring to drag Jericho to the outside, where he lifts the man up and carries him up the ramp over his shoulder.....stopping to rouse Owen Hart who is still down in the aisle.......and as the three men leave, Big Poppa Pump climbs to the second rope to display his Championship proudly to the cheering masses........

dnLuBx8.jpg

.......which is when the impressive sight that is Ahmed Johnson makes his way out from the back......coming to a halt on the entrance way, as he stands and stares down the man he will be facing at Summerslam for the World Wrestling Federation Championship......

......Steiner sees the new arrival and hops down off the ropes, draping the WWF Title over his massive shoulder as he stares up at the sight of the mammoth Ahmed Johnson.....one of the few men around here that can possibly match strength with Big Poppa Pump.......as the show goes off the air, with these two mountains of men staring each other down, ahead of what is set to be a real clash of two extremely powerful men at Summerslam.

So that was In Your House......and what an In Your House it was......after a strong showing from WCW with their Bash at the Beach event a weeks prior, the Boys clearly wanted to show how a real Pay Per View was done.....and they did it, with some really strong showings from top to bottom.....I had high hopes for our main and semi main events......and was hopefully optimistic that Bret and Owen would be able to carry Neidhart to a good match (the Bulldog wasn’t a concern, but his partner certainly was)......but I never expected Faarooq and Perfect to put on the showing that it did......and I certainly did not expect the Light Heavyweights to perform like they did.....in fact, I positioned them second on the card thinking that they would cool the crowd down a little after what was going to (hopefully) be a good opener......obviously they had other ideas.....good for them......

......the match of the night however (and possibly the year) was unquestionably the main event, as my Champion came through for me twice in seven days, first with a great main event against Lance Storm and then again with Chris Jericho.....and both men got praised hugely after the show.....Jericho is a future World Champion, no doubt about it.....and Scotty has certainly earned that Title, developing into a fantastic worker.....his only real negative is the fact that he’s so big means he can only go for so long out there, but after a bit of experimenting it seems like his sweet spot is around the 20-22 minute mark, which, after going 21:35 last night, is clearly ample time to put on a five star performance......

.......it was a bittersweet evening however......as we said goodbye to one of the best sellers ever to grace the sport.......WCW have been flashing their cash around, and Mr. Perfect is indeed heading down south.......as is Lance Storm........and as some people may or may not have picked up following last nights event, so is Jeff Hardy.......although his brother Matt is staying right here so that should make for some interesting family reunions.......and they won’t be the last to leave either......in fact stay tuned to Raw.......because Mr. McMahon will have an announcement for Summerslam which will drastically change the landscape around here.......

So many tag teams! What the hell are High Voltage doing here anyways? :p I'm a little surprised to see Jeff getting the cut. Perfect and Storm were guys you can see making a big splash in WCW, but 1997 Jeff Hardy? Not quite so much.

Shawn Michaels - This is the first match for Shawn in what feels like a long time, he definitely doesn't drop this one.

Raven - Unless you plan on shipping him to WCW as well, Raven takes the upper hand over Sid.

Dean Malenko - After getting screwed out of it at IYH, Dean will be looking to put this Daniels on ice.

Snow and Candido

Harlem Heat

Bradshaw - Rich is in the downswing, but that's only because there's such a logjam in the midcard that there's nowhere for him to go except down.

Warrior and Sting - BUT WHO'S SIDE IS HE ON

Buff Bagwell - I know Benoit will be the more popular choice, but seeing Buff head to the Titans can start giving him a strong push upward.

No Contest - Too much hoss, not enough sell.

Goldberg

Eddie Guerrero

No Contest - Titans come out and clear house on this jobbers match to cut a promo.

Road Warriors - Dude, this match will have the least amount of selling one could ever witness in a match.

High Voltage have been in developmental for a while.....Kenny Kaos was a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, couldn’t work a lick but he had a great look lol.....although saying that, since I called them up Kaos is a “Next Big Thing” and Rage is a “Hot Prospect” so maybe they will repay me with greatness :p

As for Jeff leaving, you’ll have to ask (I believe) Kijar about that one, that was his pick for being the only one to correctly pick Ahmed as the KOTR.....I’ve had no say in any of the leavers......and there are still 4 I think to go

<p><em>Very nice PPV, as always. Big ups to Y2J for pulling off that 100, and I love the Austin chaos. Really surprised by Jeff leaving, but I like that you've given everyone a reason to return if needed. Since you're booking both now, it makes WWF 1A, and WCW 1b. Go down south, maybe enjoy a push, then come back better than ever for some revenge. </em></p><p> </p><p>
