They briefly run down the show for us, with Jim Ross telling us that we have three big title matches tonight, and you've got to believe that there's a very big chance we will have three new champions by shows end....obviously Rick Rude disagrees, stating that there's no chance of the Wolfpac winning anything, ESPECIALLY the Intercontinental or World Titles....because Bret Hart said so.....and as for Al Snow and Chris Candido capturing the Tag Team Titles, the only thing that Al Snow is likely to win any time soon is a trip to the funny farm.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Jim Ross says that remains to be seen, but speaking of people that need a trip to the funny farm, it's time to head over to Howard Finkel, because the Bizarre One, Goldust is about to make his entrance, as the first match of the evening is about to get under way.....</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> N/A</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p></div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> back....when he takes on the man that not only cost him the World Wrestling Federation Championship back at Summerslam, but cost him the World Wrestling Federation Championship after nailing him around the back of his head with his own lead pipe......and his good lead pipe at that, after stealing (and soiling) the weapon, along with Steiner's trademark chain mail headdress around six weeks back.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Goldust has both Marlena and Marcus at ringside with him for this one, but not to be outdone, Steiner went out and got a valet of his own....a valet that Marcus in particular knows very well.....because out with Scotty tonight is his new number one freak, the beautiful Sable....</p><p> </p><p> ..... this match was always going to be decent, Steiner and Goldust have been two of my most consistent performers since I took this gig, with Scotty in particular having two 5* match of the year candidates under his belt this year alone.....this wasn't a match of the year candidate, but it was an excellent match.....as usual both men worked their asses off (Steiner more so with an A* performance, but Goldust was no slouch, pulling out a solid A performance of his own) in this evenly fought, back and forth battle....</p><p> </p><p> .....this may be the first time these two have met in one on one competition since this feud began, but they have faced off in a tag team encounter and an eight man clash....and while Goldust didn't score the pinfall in either match, he WAS on the winning team both times, giving him a perfect record thus far against the former WWF Champion....of course, to win THIS match he actually has to defeat Big Poppa Pump, something which (as Shawn Michaels can attest to) is easier said than done.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Goldust does manage to gain control for a good portion of the match, after Marlena distracted the official, leaving Marcus to catch Scotty on the jaw with a cheap left handed jab....(and say what you will about Marcus' peculiar lifestyle choices, he stick packs a hell of a punch).....that puts the Bizarre One in the drivers seat, as he slowly works over Steiner while also making sure to severely creep the crowd out with his unorthodox tactics, openly running his gloved hands over the massive muscles of Big Poppa Pump....</p><p> </p><p> ......of course Scotty doesn't take kindly to that, and he begins to rally back with a cry of rage, pounding Goldust (and not in the way Goldie was hoping for) in the corner with clubbing blows....Marlena hops up onto the apron again looking to give her man a breather, but this table Sable is over like a shot, dragging her back down to the floor and slapping the taste right out of her mouth.....</p><p> </p><p> .......Marcus comes running around from the opposite side of the ring, but Scott Steiner has obviously lit a fire under Sable, who doesn't even blink as she kicks him square in the balls, dropping her one time client down to his knees.....Sable walks around the back of Marcus, places her foot between his shoulder blades and shoves him face first onto the safety mats, before standing over the incapacitated stylist.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Steiner whips Goldust hard into the opposite corner with such force that the Bizarre One comes staggering back out to the middle of the ring, where he's planted to the mat with a spinning belly to belly, before, in a mirror image of what is happening on the outside, he stands over his equally as incapacitated opponent, before giving the signal to Sable, as the pair lock on stereo Steiner Recliners.....and as Marcus cries out in pain on the outside, Goldust rapidly submits on the inside....and this one is over.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Scott Steiner</p><p> the Pumpers <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) as Goldust rolls to the outside, where he and Marcus are helped up the aisle by Marlena.....Marlena stops for a moment however and runs back down to ringside, where she snatches up Steiner's "good" pipe and chain mail, before turning to escape like a thief in the night......</p><p> </p><p> .....except Sable is standing in her way.....and after already having the make-up slapped off her face once, she sheepishly hands Steiners "sh!t" over, and quickly retreats up the aisle to join the other two members of MGM Productions.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Sable climbs into the ring, where she presents her man with his items.....and Scotty is clearly delighted to have his stuff back......but now there's just the small matter of regaining one more thing that Goldust took from him.....the been feuding with ever since his first appearance in the crowd as a fan, when Rich Steiner took exception to the claim that Mr. Shamrock was the Worlds Most Dangerous Man......</p><p> </p><p> .....Shamrock backed up that claim by defeating Rich Steiner in his very first Pay Per View outing, but if Ken thought he was finished with the Corporation then he was very much mistaken, because after Jeff Jarrett attempted to break that acoustic equaliser over his head at Summerslam, Shamrock snapped......and by locking Double J into the Ankle Lock submission at the top of the ramp during their four way European Championship match....and then refusing to relinquish the hold....Shamrock wound up costing both Jarrett AND himself the chance to be crowned champion......Ken does claim to have his temper in check now, but after Jarrett once again attempted to play one of his greatest hits with that guitar just six days ago on Raw, you've got to wonder how much of a hold on that temper Shamrock really has.....</p><p> </p><p> .......the match is decent, and Ken does appear to be keeping his cool....all the while he's in control of the match anyway....DiBiase clips the foot of Shamrock to cause the distraction however, and the frustration certainly starts to show on the former UFC stars face as Jarrett goes on the offence....and he looks damn right p!ssed off when DiBiase drapes Jarretts foot over the bottom rope, after a hurricanrana from a "running the ropes" sequence sees Shamrock make a flash cover out of nowhere.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Deebs saved the match for his man there, but he might have signed his own death warrant in doing so, because Shamrock dives to the outside to give chase to the Million Dollar Manager, who runs for his life.....</p><p> </p><p> .....the two men run around the outside of the ring, with Shamrock gaining ground.....until he turns a final corner and there is Jarrett waiting, with that guitar in hand......</p><p> </p><p> .....Jarrett swings like he's trying to hit a home run, but Shamrock is able to throw himself to the floor to avoid the shot, leaving the guitar to shatter harmlessly against the ringpost.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Shamrock stands slowly to his feet, dusting the wood splinters off himself as he does so.....but something's changed in his expression....there's a fire in the eyes.....he may well have snapped folks.....</p><p> </p><p> .....he charges at Jarrett, who drops the remains of the guitar and bolts to the ring, sliding under the bottom rope....Shamrock is right behind him however, and before Jarrett can even get back to his feet, the Worlds Most Dangerous Man has a vice like grip on his leg, as he positions Jarrett into the Ankle Lock, and within the space of about 4 seconds, Jarrett is screaming out in submission, and this one is over......</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Ken Shamrock</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> trying to drag him off Jarrett.....he's not letting go however, and Double J is in danger of suffering serious injury here....so much so, that DiBiase has to call in the almost as wild as the expression on his face.....an expression that's so wild in fact, that while the Million Dollar Corporation looked to be considering jumping Shamrock, they all back away with their hands up, as Southern Justice collect a hobbled Jeff Jarrett, as the group makes its way to the back.....and is ALMOST at the entrance way, when Howard Finkel's voice declares that......</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....I have just been informed, that due to Ken Shamrock's refusal to break the Ankle Lock submission hold, and repeated ignoring of the referee's requests to relinquish might not have heard much in the last five minutes, but he heard that......and so did Jeff Jarrett.....who despite the fact that he can't even walk under his own weight, still has the audacity to arrogantly raise his arm in victory, just before the entire Corporation disappear to the back.....leaving Shamrock to continue to lose his sh!t as he has a meltdown in the ring, leaving us to head to ......Chris Jericho (who is still wearing the retired WWF Light Heavyweight Championship belt around his waist) fields that question, saying that much more than that....not only will the Wolfpac not Intercontinental Championship, but carrying it for a long time as well....in fact, Sean Waltman is a man highly tipped to be one of the next big things in Wrestling, and if you go by how steadily his overall popularity has risen in the past 18 months then that may be true, because realistically, not only is he marginally more over than Current Champion, Owen, he's also more over than even team mate Scott Hall, to the point where Waltman himself believes he should be getting that main event push (and main event money no doubt).....unfortunately for him there's two problems with that....one, I've already got more main eventers than you can shake a sh!tty stick at.....and two, the thing that bought him to the dance to begin with, his Cruiserweight style.....is actually holding him back.....so at upper Midcard you stay for now Mr. Waltman.....</p><p> </p><p> .....considering each man's ability I was expecting good things from this match, even with the limitations I put them under in regards to the actual length of the contest.....they had about 15 minutes to show this crowd what they can do, and they didn't disappoint.....because while this was no Rey Mysterio-esq high flying masterpiece, the two men certainly showcased their individual agility, in a very evenly fought contest......even more evenly fought because while neither man came out alone (Waltman with Hall and Hart with Test) the official instantly ordered both men to the back, leaving this as a true one on one match up.....</p><p> </p><p> ....after Owen controlled a good portion of the match the action really kicked up a gear as Waltman fought his heart out to get back into the match, and we almost see these two great workers come to a stalemate as the hit a series of counter and reversal manoeuvres and pinning combinations that sees at least six near falls in the space of around two minutes, until Waltman sends Owen hard into the corner, following up with a running shoulder block.....Hart manages to swing his body up and out of the way however, leaving Waltman to collide with nothing but ringpost as he drives his shoulder through the turnbuckles, before Owen's momentum allows him to convert that into a Schoolboy roll-up.....and with both feet on the ropes for good measure, Owen steals the one, the two, and the three.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> ....and Federation....and his name is Stone Cold Steve Austin.....although if you were to ask Mr. Austin himself, he'd probably tell you that it's not he that is marked, but rather the entire WWF roster....because after turning down Mr. McMahons offer to become the newest Corporate face of the company (and a guaranteed World Title opportunity to boot) Austin has declared that he needs nothing and no one to take the top prize in wrestling, and if he has to Stun every man on the roster to do so, then so be it.....</p><p> </p><p> .....The Nation of Domination were riding high just a few short weeks back....they walked into Summerslam with the Intercontinental, European AND Light Heavyweight Championship.....while they walked OUT of Summerslam with no titles....and one member short, as The Rock got his marching orders....so it goes without saying that Faarooq needs this win, and preferably needs to take Austin out in the process, because the man that serves up Stone Colds head will be handsomely rewarded.....</p><p> </p><p> .....the match itself was fantastic as well....certainly one of, if not THE best match of Faarooq's WWF career, who while he has had some decent bouts, hasn't exactly been known for his stellar in ring work.....this was easily the second best match on this card, which is testament to Steve Austin's form right now, because in terms of positioning on the card, Faarooq is not on his level at all....</p><p> </p><p> ....that shows in the opening portion of the match too, because Austin absolutely (for lack of a better word) dominates.....he's completely on fire at the moment, and this crowd has never been hotter for him, and the roof nearly blows off the place as Faarooq gets battered from corner to corner, to the outside, up and down the aisle and back into the ring again.....in fact, it's only a thunderous Spinebuster from Faarooq that finally halts the assault, as the Nation leader goes on the offence.....</p><p> </p><p> .....he slows the pace right down, and while Austin may be the better brawler of the pair, he can't match Faarooq in terms of raw strength, so it's big high impact power moves that the former WCW Champion focuses on, trying to wear his opponent down to the point that he can attempt to finish him off with the Dominator.....</p><p> </p><p> .....unfortunately that opportunity doesn't arrive....Austin is a man on a mission, and he's not about to let that mission get derailed any time soon, which is why he soon finds a way to fight back into this one, and although Faarooq DOES manage to get Austin up in position for the Dominator, Stone Cold is able to wriggle free, land behind his opponent.....spin Faarooq around....and one kick to the gut/Stunner combination later, this one is over. </p><p> </p><p> Faarooq those Championship rewards........</p><p> </p><p> .....Stone Cold stops his celebration and stands staring at the 6'9, near 500lb behemoth that is heading his way.....he backs up a few paces as Nelson steps effortlessly over the top rope and walks right up to Austin going face to face (well, face to chin, Nelson has a good seven inches on Austin) the two men stare each other down for a moment, before Nelson finally moves Austin to one side.....backs up to the ropes for a running start......and drops his entire half ton body on top of the still down Faarooq......</p><p> </p><p> rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/JgphiuN.jpg"></a></p><p> </p><p> That brings us to our second Championship match of the evening, as the New Age Outlaws put the gold on the line against Al Snow and Chris Candido.....in a match that could well have been Snow and Candido defending against the Outlaws, because Chris Candido was half a second away from picking up the victory and winning the titles at Summerslam, until the Outlaws quite literally stole the win out from under them.....</p><p> </p><p> .....because of this, and to thank his for basically putting up with his wacky sh!t, Al Snow went out and personally arranged this match for himself and Candido....and as an added bonus, he's even bought Candido's former valet Sunny along for the ride.....not that the former Bodydonna is particularly pleased to have the back stabbing Sunny by his side again, but she's here tonight, and looking absolutely gorgeous as ever....</p><p> </p><p> .....the Outlaws have promised that while Snow and Candido have been an entertaining little act, that's all they are.....an act.....they claim that they are the real deal, and while they can certainly entertain, they can get real serious, real quick......just ask Jeff Hardy....who's last WWF appearance saw him launched off the side of the entrance stage, locked inside a dumpster......</p><p> </p><p> ......this match was (again) a really good match, there haven't been any real stinkers tonight and this one continues the trend.....Snow and Candido start off very strong, clearly well up for this one, even if Candido is somewhat distracted by Sunny's unwanted (by him anyway) presence at ringside.....although (perhaps unsurprisingly) he and Sunny have some excellent chemistry that actually helped the match.....unfortunately, while that chemistry helped the match, it hindered Candido, because after Sunny decided to interject herself into the contest, attempting to distract Billy Gunn with her "womanly charms", Candido was the one that found himself distracted, as he was so intent on telling her that he doesn't want her help OR her interference, he fails to see Billy Gunn running across the ring, who drives a knee into the back of Candido, which in turn sends Candido crashing into Sunny....and Sunny crashing off the apron down to the floor below......</p><p> </p><p> ......Snow tells Head to go and check on Sunny, but with Head seemingly reluctant to move (go figure) he goes and checks on her himself, missing an opportunity to tag into the match when Candido manages to make it to the corner, only to get dragged back to the middle of the ring when there's no partner to save him.....</p><p> </p><p> ......the Outlaws then show what it was that bought them the tag team titles to begin with, as they cut the ring in half to isolate Candido, before tagging quickly in and out of the match, wearing Candido down and making full use of the official's five count to inflict frequent double team moves (as well as using each other to distract the official, so the non-legal man can inflict some infraction of the rule, such as the Road Dogg choking Candido over the top ring rope.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Sunny is back on her feet, and both she and Snow begin pounding the mat in an effort to rally Candido, who does actually make the tag at one point, but the official fails to spot it thanks to the Road Dogg illegally entering the ring to distract him.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Candido is desperate to capture the gold here however, and he refuses to stay down.....and in perhaps the most impressive move of the night, manages to catch hold of Bad Ass Billy Gunn during a Famouser attempt, managing to counter it with a spectacular Powerbomb, before finally clawing his way over to his corner, where he makes the tag to Al Snow.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Snow comes into the match like a man on a mission, while Sunny checks on Candido, and takes it to both the Road Dogg and the Bad Ass....Snow is fully rested and keen to capitalise on this opportunity at the gold, and after Candido shoves Sunny away from him, he too rejoins the action, with the match briefly breaking down into a Texas Tornado style Brawl.....and while Candido didn't want Sunny's help, she was still involved in the finish of this one.....because after Candido has tackled Gunn to the outside, she again climbs up onto the apron, where she ensures she has the attention of the referee, before kicking Head into the ring right into the waiting hands of Al Snow......Al looks at Head.....then looks at Sunny (who is indicating with her hands for him to "just do it" as Nike would say)......before turning and nailing Jesse James right between the eyes.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Road Dogg doesn't go down however.....but he does stagger backwards into the ring ropes, the force of which propels him back towards Snow, who scoops him right up and plants him into the mat with the Snow Plow.....and as Candido clings on to Billy Gunn's leg on the outside, the official counts the one, the two.........and the three......this one is over, and we have brand new WWF Tag Team Champions.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner(s):</strong> and the now former Tag Team Champions slam their hands on the announce desk in anger, screaming at Jim Ross that <em>"this ain't going down like that"</em>, as they collect a pair of steel chairs and a microphone from ringside.....</p><p> </p><p> .....they slide back inside the ring, weapons in hand......but they don't attack....not yet anyway.....instead The Road Dogg has a message for them....he says that the Outlaws guaranteed that there was no way in hell that these two jokers were going to be walking out of here as the WWF Tag Team Champions.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....and I'm telling you right now, there's more chance of Al Snow passing a psychiatric evaluation than there is of you two boys walking out of this ring with those Championship Belts....."</em></p><p> </p><p> .....Gunn and James raise the chairs high, as Snow and Candido prepare to fight their way out of this one.....before swinging however, the Outlaws theatrically open up the chairs and sit themselves down, where Road Dogg pulls a sheet of paper out of his tights, handing it to the confused looking official.....who reads it over, before asking if this is legit?....Billy tells him to check the signatures <em>"and make the call"</em>.....which is exactly what he does, before heading over to Howard Finkel, who lets the crowd know that.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".......ladies and gentlemen, the winners of this match, Al Snow and Chris Candido.....HOWEVER......the official has just informed me that the contract for tonight match does NOT state that the Championships were on the line.......therefore, STILL........"</em></p><p> </p><p> .......the Fink doesn't get to finish that statement however, because the Road Dogg snatches the microphone away.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......therefore, because handing them back to the rightful Champions, who head to the back with the belts held high like they just won the match, as Jim Ross condemns them for stealing the title belts once again.....as Rick Rude rightly points out however, it was Al Snow that set this match up, and while the Outlaws may not have let anyone know before hand that this was a non-title match, the blame for this one lies solely on the shoulders of Al Snow.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" evening....there are no Championships on the line in this one (even if Chris Jericho IS still wearing the Light Heavyweight Championship) although had it not been for the self proclaimed "Ayatollah of RocknRolla's" interference on Raw, nailing Hall in the back of the head, The Bad Guy may well have been walking into this evening with the WWF Title around his waist......</p><p> </p><p> .....much like earlier in the evening, the official isn't in the mood for external tangibles tonight....because while Test accompanies Chris Jericho to the ring, he's not there for long....in fact he lasts all of around four minutes before the referee catches him attempting to interfere, and the big Canadian bodyguard gets evicted from ringside and ordered to the back....</p><p> </p><p> .....Jericho is furious at this....and treats us to a Chris Jericho patented "temper tantrum" that winds up backfiring, because as he hops around kicking the ring ropes he hops right into a Scott Hall right hand that knocks him on square on his ass....</p><p> </p><p> .....this is yet another great match on a night of great matches, even with (yes, I sound like a broken record I know) Scott Hall's long term injury problems these two put on a hell of a match....granted it wasn't quite up to Hall's Monday Night effort with Bret Hart just six days ago, but then, for as good as Chris Jericho is, he's not Bret Hart.....yet.....but then Jericho has only been in the business a paltry seven years, which is barely a blink of the eye compared to the Hitman's almost two decades in the business.....and when you consider the fact that seven years into Bret Hart's career he was still Wrestling in Canada (while seven years into Jericho's he has already main evented two Pay Per Views for the largest Wrestling company in the world) it says a lot for how good Jericho really is......</p><p> </p><p> ......unfortunately for him, tonight he just wasn't quite good enough, and despite Jericho getting a good portion of the evenings offence in, Hall still managed to get all his signature moves in, including catching a Jericho cross body attempt from the top and converting it into a Fallaway Slam.....before finishing the brash Jericho off with the Razor's Edge, giving him the win, as well as tying the nights battle with the Harts up at one a piece.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Scott /></p><p> </p><p> We head to the back once more, where Dok Hendrix is standing by with Dude Love ahead of his upcoming battle with Brian Pillman...a man who according to Dok, has run down, ridiculed, assaulted, embarrassed, and perhaps most importantly, defeated the Dude in every meeting they have had, be it singles, tag team, or even eight man matches.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Dok says that Pillman has questioned the Dude's manhood, and claimed on numerous occasions the Dude Love's children should be embarrassed to have a joke for a father.....does the Dude really believe that he can defeat the Corporate Cannon tonight?....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....first of all Dok, the Dude can categorically declare right now......that his manhood is just fine, and his disco balls are right exactly where they should be.....I checked a few minutes ago....secondly, I don't just THINK I can beat Brian Pillman......I know I can beat Brian Pillman ......"</em></p><p> </p><p> .....the Dude says that Pillman can make all the claims he wants, he can say that Dude Love could never beat a man like Brian Pillman, but the Dude can get down and dirty with the best of them.....and if you don't believe the Dude, then just ask all these great fans, right here....in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.....because the Dude spent quite some time just down the road, in the little bingo hall that could......and the Philly fans know EXACTLY how EXTREME the Dude can get.....</p><p> </p><p> .....as for Pillman's constant claims that his baby dude and dudette are embarrassed by their father, he thinks not.....because for the first time in his career, they're sat right there at ringside tonight, and they're going to be rocking that tie dye in support of their big daddy.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"........owwwww, have mercy......."</em></p><p> </p><p> .....and with that, the Dudes smooth disco music can be heard playing over the house speakers, as the Coolest Cat in the WWF jives out of shot and on his way to the ring.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" <img alt="J6fVGTO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/J6fVGTO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> VS. <img alt="UpnPfKu.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UpnPfKu.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> That match is indeed next, it's Dude Love vs. Brian Pillman for the second time in consecutive months, and after having the joint match of the night at Summerslam (tied with Austin/Hart) I was fairly confident that they would take the honours solo tonight......I was right as well......Austin/Faarooq came close, but this was as close to a perfect five star match as you can get, we're talking four and nine tenths close right here......</p><p> </p><p> ....the Dude gets a great response from these Philadelphia faithfuls's, although as Love stops off at ringside to kiss his wife and children, there is an audible boo and a chant of "Cactus Jack" from a small smarky section of the crowd....but then, it was here in Philly that a member of the crowd made a sign encouraging ECW star The Sandman to "Cane Dewey", the Dude's then 3 year old son, who is sat right here at ringside tonight, so that small response shouldn't come as much of a surprise.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Pillman actually garners cheers from that same section of fans, that clearly remember BOTH men's short stint down in the land of Extreme....and while Pillman's was only a fleeting visit, he certainly made an impression, honing the "Loose Cannon" gimmick that we all know today, debuting at the February Cyberslam event in 1996 and threatening to <em>"yank out my johnson and p!ss in this hell-hole"</em>.....little did the ECW faithful know, but the only reason Pillman was there (in this little alternative universe of mine) was because he had just finished a WWF funded stint in rehab for drug and alcohol addictions, and was set to make his debut for us a month later at Wrestlemania....his little stop of at the land of extreme was a short term loan from us to rattle away any rust before he walked out onto the grandest stage of all......</p><p> </p><p> ......the two men start with a stare down....although Pillman was cackling and wild eyed as he stood face to face with the Dude....he stops laughing in quick measure though, because the Dude shows that he means business straight from the get go, nailing Pillman with a series of punches that send The Corporate Cannon bailing to the safety of the outside.....except it ain't that safe.....because after promising to up his game tonight, the Dude follows his opponent straight to the outside and follows up with a spinning neck breaker right on the floor.....</p><p> </p><p> .....back on the inside and the Dude stays on the offence, whipping Pillman hard into the turnbuckles, before unloading a series of right hands that leaves his opponent slumped on the mat in the corner, before the Dude backs it up and charges at Pillman, driving a running knee straight into the jaw of the Cannon.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Pillman is clearly taken aback by the sheer brutality that the Dude is coming after him with, and has to take desperate measures to halt the assault, as he claws at his opponents eyes like a rabid animal, finally giving himself enough of a breather that he's able to hurl the Dude right over the top rope with such force that he crashes into the crowd barrier, right in front of his family, who Pillman takes great delight in taunting, asking them <em>"what do you think of your daddy now, you little brats"</em> as he slams Love's head into the steel, score tossing him back into the ring, where he continues the assault....</p><p> </p><p> .....Jim Ross remarks that while the Dude's attempt to remain the better man, vanquishing "the bad man" for the sake of his children, he's going to have to do something a little different if he ever hopes to pick up the victory over Pillman.....with Rick Rude remarking that maybe.....MAYBE....Cactus Jack would have a chance of defeating the Corporate Cannon, <em>"but this Dude Love.....he doesn't have a hope in hell Jim Ross"</em>....he looks to be right too, because the Dude is fading fast under the constant abuse he's taking at the hands of Pillman.....Pillman however quite literally has no filter, and every now and then he takes things too far.....which is exactly what happens here......</p><p> </p><p> .....because after tossing the Dude to the outside again, he drags him over to where Mrs. Love and the two Baby Love's are sitting, again slamming the Dude's head into the safety rail.....taunting the two children, before grabbing hold of the Dude's Main Squeeze, and kissing her right on the lips.....he gets shoved away by the young lady.....AND slapped ring across the face as Mrs. Dude Love spits the taste of Pillman out of her mouth, but the Corporate Cannon doesn't care, continuing to cackle like the hyena that he is.....at least until a blur of tie dye crashes into him, and the Dude unloads with a savage attack not seen since.....well, since his Cactus Jack days......</p><p> </p><p> .....the Dude pounds Pillman's head repeatedly into the crowd rail, before whipping his opponent face first into the ring post....Pillman tries to create some space between him and the Dude, the Dude on the other hand charges and tackles him back first into the ring apron, before whipping him hard into the ring steps, before again following it up with that patented running knee straight into the steel.....The Dude slowly rises to his feet with a sick smile on his face, before shouting out a very Un-Dude Love like <em>"Bang, Bang"</em> and reaching underneath the ring.......</p><p> </p><p> .....where he pulls out a two by four plank.....wrapped in barbed wire.....much to the delight of this Philly crowd.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Jim Ross shouts out that this is NOT an anything goes match....and if the Dude uses that weapon he WILL be disqualified......I don't think the Dude cares however....as he holds the barbed wire board up with glee to the crowd, before turning to face his family.......</p><p> </p><p> .....which is when he stops......and drops the weapon......because both his son and daughter are hiding away from the sight of their father wielding a lethal weapon like a maniac.....</p><p> </p><p> ......the Dude goes over to attempt to reassure his offspring that it's ok, the Bad Man isn't coming back......he should have kept his eyes on his opponent though....because Pillman has picked up that barbed wire board and tossed it into the ring....now he nails Love with a knee to the kidneys, before picking him up, rolling him back into the ring....picking up a steel chair....and following the Dude back inside the Squared Circle.....</p><p> </p><p> .....he stands over his opponent with the chair raised, but like Jim Ross said, this is NOT an anything goes match....which is why the official snatches the chair off him...turns away....and drops the weapon back to the outside.....keeping his back turned just long enough for Pillman to pick up that barbed wire board he so innocently tossed into the ring a few moments ago.....and drive it right between the eyes of the Dude......</p><p> </p><p> ......he drops the weapon to the mat and kicks it to the outside, before dropping down to make the cover.....the official turns around, and three seconds later, Brian Pillman has defeated Dude Love.......again.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Brian is busted wide open, a bloody mess on the mat courtesy of that shot from the barbed wire board.....</p><p> </p><p> .....clearly Pillman isn't happy to leave it at that however, as he drops to his knees to drive his fists into that open wound of the Dude, and with spittle flying like a rabid dog, he screams at him like a maniac, screams that he told him....<em>"I told you that a pathetic piece of primordial slime like you can't defeat the Crowned Prince of Chaos"</em>.....before dragging the bloodied Dude to his feet and tossing him through the ropes to the outside, right in front of his family.....</p><p> </p><p> .....the Dude slowly pulls himself to his feet, blood dripping down his face as he desperately yells at his wife to take the kids and go.....and as she gathers up her children and the trio disappear into the crowd, Pillman comes rushing into shot again, barbed wire board in hand, as he drives it once more into the skull of the Dude.....</p><p> </p><p> .....the Dude is done....but Pillman isn't....as he takes that barbed wire and grinds it into the flesh of the Dude, while Jim Ross shouts for security over at the announce desk to get out here before that maniac Brian Pillman inflicts permanent damage to Dude Love.....</p><p> </p><p> .....security does indeed finally come out.....but it's too late.....Pillman is finished anyway....finished with this assault, and according to him <em>"......I'm finished with you.....you're nothing....a nobody....an afterthought.....you're an embarrassment to yourself, and your entire stinking bloodline......consider this the period, at the end of your pathetic existence....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....with that, Pillman tears the tie dye shirt from the chest of the Dude, before blowing his nose on it and throwing it down like a piece of garbage on top of the bloody remains of Dude Love, before storming to the back, as the paramedics rush to ringside to tend to his victim.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> Why with a technical masterclass like Ahmed Johnson vs. Kevin Nash naturally.....because it's main event time, and the World Wrestling Federation Championship is on the line.....</p><p> </p><p> ....we air a quick promo package while they tend to, and wheel out the remains of Dude Love, highlighting the ascension of Ahmed Johnson.....from costing the Undertaker his Wrestlemania match against his brother Kane and aligning himself with Jim Cornette, to winning the King of the Ring (taking out the Undertaker again in the process) and finally capturing the WWF Championship from Scott Steiner last month at Summerslam.....to say it's been an eventful six months for Ahmed Johnson would be an understatement, and he's here tonight to face a (very) credible contender, the Wolfpac's own.....Kevin Nash.....</p><p> </p><p> ....a lot of people (myself included) were rather sceptical as to exactly what we were going to get out of these two....I wasn't expecting brilliance, but I was hoping not to have a repeat of the Diesel/Mable Summerslam snorefest.....thankfully, these two delivered far more than I was expecting, in what was actually a solid match.....of course it helped that it didn't go long (around 15 minutes) because neither man has a lot in his tank, but these two are over enough that the sheer crowd reaction was enough to instantly improve the match.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Ahmed Johnson has been making a list (and checking it twice) it's not a list of who's naughty or nice however....it's his list of victims, and thus far there are some pretty impressive names on there.....Scott Steiner, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Cactus Jack.....even Kevin Nash has fallen to the big man from Pearl River (although that was with an assist from Shawn Michaels) so it's no wonder that the WWF Champion as confident as confident can be.....and he doesn't back down from Big Sexy for so much as a second, and even sends Nash flying halfway across the ring with a huge push off a lock up attempt......Nash isn't one to walk away from a fight either however, and he returns the favour a few moments later.....from there these two big bulls just beat on each other.....it's not pretty, but it is pretty entertaining....</p><p> </p><p> ......there is no real prolonged periods of offence for either man either, as they pretty much just exchange moves for the majority of the match, in what essentially becomes one big game of "can you top this".....Nash hits a Sidewalk Slam, Ahmed hits a Spinebuster......Nash connects with the Big Boot, Johnson runs through him with a Clothesline.....Nash drills Ahmed with a Powerslam, while Ahmed gets the seven footer up for a Bodyslam.....and so on and so forth, until it finally breaks down to an out and out slugfest......that Kevin Nash actually gets the better of, as he drives Ahmed all the way back into the corner, where he continues to hammer Ahmed with blows........</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="mlpIGwT.jpg" on one side.........and a shot of backstage on the other......where The Harts, Jericho, and Test are putting the finishing touches on what appears to be a locker room beatdown of Sean Waltman and Scott Hall, before Bret puts a halt to it, telling his compadres to <em>"come on.....let's go take a closer look at this title match"</em>.....as the four men step over the two Wolfpac members and walk out of shot.....presumably on their way to the ring......</p><p> </p><p> .....Nash is oblivious to this however, and as we switch back to a single screen shot, he is in the process of whipping Ahmed into the ropes and dropping him with a Big Boot (giving a mocking version of the old Hulk Hogan 'cupping the hand to the ear routine') before dropping those straps......and we all know what that means.....it's Jacknife time......</p><p> </p><p> .......which is exactly the time that the Canadians part the curtain and come running down the aisle.....</p><p> </p><p> .......Owen, Jericho and Test run interference on one side of the ring, as the Hitman rolls into the ring with a steel chair on the other.....and since Nash has Ahmed in position for the Powerbomb it leaves his back wide open for Hart to crash the steel chair across.....once.....twice.....three times.....before Bret quickly exits the ring......</p><p> </p><p> .....ain't no way Kevin Nash is going to agree to take the (sketchy at the best of times) Pearl River Plunge of Ahmed Johnson......which is why Ahmed picks him up and slams him hard back down to the mat with a Standing Spinebuster.....and as the official turns around to see Ahmed making the cover, that's all she wrote, and Ahmed Johnson retains WWF Championship.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> ....and <strong>Still</strong> WWF Champion.....Ahmed him......</p><p> </p><p> .....that first blow doesn't actually do a lot other than to p!ss Ahmed Johnson off.....and he turns around looking like he's ready to straight up murder up the assault on Ahmed.....Bret on the other hand has broken away from the pack, and has picked up the WWF Championship, which he holds up to a nearby camera, letting everyone at home know that <p><strong>Preview for WWF Raw is War, Week 4, September 1997</strong> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF Championship Match</strong></p><p>

Ahmed Johnson © vs. Bret Hart</p><p>

Comments: No contest, DDQ, DCO, double stoppage... I'm calling a draw, basically.</p><p> </p><p>

Scott Hall & Sean Waltman vs. <strong>Owen Hart & Chris Jericho</strong></p><p>

Comments: Hmm, 50:50 at the PPV, let's say the Harts get it this time as Jericho has a backstage mini-mark out over teaming with Owen.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong> Psycho Sid</strong> vs. Arn Anderson</p><p>

Comments: The Master and Ruler of the World vs. the Enforcer doesn't seem like the most even of matchups. Even assuming Flair gets involved, I think Sid has this. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong> Harlem Heat</strong> vs. The Dogs of War</p><p>

Comments: I'm quietly amazed that you bothered bringing Stevie Ray over, but even so let's go for the team with a member that has actual potential to rise above the midcard.</p><p> </p><p>

Dean Malenko vs. <strong>Faarooq</strong></p><p>

Comments: This is going to be some kind of clash of styles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF European Championship Match</strong></p><p>

<strong> Matt Hardy ©</strong> vs. Savio Vega</p><p>

Comments: Matt quietly gets on with levelling up, but this is the WWF< and eventually someone's going to notice he's got a title and no friends to back him up... Let's say Jeff Jarrett.</p><p> </p><p>

Quote:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Preview for WCW Monday Nitro, Week 4, September 1997</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong> Lex Luger & The Giant</strong> vs. Hollywood Hogan & Jean Paul Levesque</p><p>

Comments: I'm temped to say schmozz, but I'm going to go with Titan dissension being greater than WCW dissension</p><p> </p><p>

Curt Hennig vs. <strong>Randy Savage</strong></p><p>

Comments: Ooooh yeah!</p><p> </p><p>

Road Warrior Animal vs. Mike Awesome vs. <strong>Adam Copeland</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong>Comments: Sneaky capitalisation on outside interference rules!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong> Diamond Dallas Page</strong> vs. Konnan</p><p>

Comments: Assuming that DDP's some way from 100% still, but I've never been able to get behind Konnan.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong> The Pitbulls</strong> vs. Samoan SWAT Team</p><p>

Comments: Really the Pitbulls? New arrivals, has it just taken you this long to work through the WCW roster, or have I just missed them before now? Anyway, I assume that there's Samoan shenanigans here.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW Television Championship Match</strong></p><p>

Lord Steven Regal © vs. Lance Storm</p><p>

Comments: Ooh, tough one to call. Let's say it's a draw, or at least, I don't think Lance is ready for gold just yet.</p><p> </p><p>

Jim Duggan & The Nasty Boys vs. <strong>Kevin Sullivan, Bam Bam Bigelow & Big Van Vader</strong></p><p>

Comment: If the ring announcer can get their mouth around the heel stable's name, then then the following match will likely be shorter and more brutal than the introduction.</p>

usually the case following a Pay Per View) with a run down of still images from the event.....Scott Steiner vanquishing Goldust....Ken Shamrock forcing Jeff Jarrett to submit to the Ankle Lock, only to snap and see the result reversed....Steve Austin defeating Faarooq ahead of the return of Nelson, who quite literally crushed the life out of his former team mate....Al Snow and Chris Candido defeating the New Age Outlaws, only to see their dreams snatched away from them when it was revealed that the match was NOT for the WWF Tag Team Titles.....Bret Hart costing Kevin Nash the World Wrestling Federation Championship......and finally we see an image of a bloody and battered Dude Love, following another vicious assault from Brian Pillman, before we go down to the commentary table, where Jim Ross and Rick Rude are waiting to welcome us to the show......</p><p> </p><p> ......they quickly gloss over the main talking points, before focusing on the bloody destruction of Dude Love, with Jim Ross telling us that we have exclusive backstage footage to show right now, although he warns viewers that it's quite graphic, and you might want to take any small children out of the room......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="J6fVGTO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/J6fVGTO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> .....that might have been slightly overly dramatic on the part of Jim Ross, but it is a pretty tough sight to see, as we go back in time to the trainers room last night, right after Dude Love had received a brutal beating from Brian Pillman....so brutal in fact that the Dude ordered his wife (who was sat at ringside) to take their two small children and get the hell out of there......</p><p> </p><p> .....the Dude is sat down, blood still covering his face and chest, as a member of the medical team is trying to stem the blood flow and get the Dude stitched up.....the Dude calls the camera over however, shoving the doctor to one side for a moment so that everyone can get a good look at the mess Brian Pillman has made of his face with that barbed wire board, telling everyone to take a good long look.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....take a good look at what is left of my face.....take a good look at what is left of my pride.....and take a good look at what is left of my dignity......"</em></p><p> </p><p> .....the Dude says that Brian Pillman can assault him.....be can beat him, he can bloody him....that's par of the course of being a professional wrestler.....that's the price you pay when you choose this great sport as your vocation.....he accepts the pain.....he accepts the suffering......but when Pillman placed his hands on his wife.....when he placed his lips on his wife.....when he deliberately attempted to mentally scar his children, he went about ten steps too far.....and that's something he WILL NOT ACCEPT.....</p><p> </p><p> ....the blood continues to flow down Love's face, and again the trainer steps in to attempt to treat the wound, but again the Dude shoves them to one side......</p><p> </p><p> .....he says that he needs to spend the evening tonight comforting and reassuring his crying children that Daddy is going to be ok.....he has to look them in the eye and lie to their face.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......because Daddy is NOT ok.....Daddy is FAR from ok.....and not because of THIS</em> (the Dude punches himself right in that open wound) <em>THIS is only temporary.....Daddy is not ok, because he knows what he has to do.....he knows what needs to be done to put an end to this.....he knows what he has to do, and it's YOUR fault Brian Pillman......"</em></p><p> </p><p> .....he says that tomorrow night.....on Raw is War.....the Dude will be there.....and he hopes Brian Pillman is too.....because he's going to want to hear what the Dude has to say.....</p><p> </p><p> ....with that the trainer is finally allowed to walk back into shot and begin to put the pieces of the Dude together again, and the video ends as we go back to Jim Ross and Rick Rude, who speculate as to what exactly this announcement will be.....Rude thinks that Foley is finally hanging up the tie dye and boots for good, because he's going to announce his retirement....while Jim Ross disagrees, stating that he's no quitter.....but whatever it is, we're going to have to wait......because the Owner of the WWF is making his way out now......and he's got his entire Corporate Cabinet with him......</p><p> </p><p> night showed him anything, it's that if you want something done right then you should do it yourself.....or at least subcontract workers that you trust....</p><p> </p><p> ....he says it's been almost a month since Stone Cold Steve Austin had the audacity to place his hands on him, and yet, despite their being a blank contract on the table to write their own future on, not one person has bought him the head of the Rattlesnake.....even Ken Shamrock (who had the prime opportunity last week) and Nelson (who could have crushed Stone Cold instead of Faarooq last night) would rather let their personal feelings overwhelm their professional goals.....</p><p> </p><p> .....he says that instead of looking to his roster to step up to the plate, he should have looked closer to home.....because he's got four men right here, any one of whom could rip Steve Austin limb from limb.....you've got Brian Pillman, the man who perhaps knows Austin better than anyone, and showed the whole world last night that he's got the killer instinct to tame even the most savage beast.....you've got Ric Flair and the Enforcer Arn Anderson, two genuine living legends who have taken out some of the biggest names this sport has ever known.....and then you've got the Monster Kane, the man that defeated the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.....</p><p> </p><p> .....McMahon asks the foursome which one of them wants the shot?....which one of them wants the privilege of being the man to serve Steve Austin up to him on a silver platter at Badd Blood: In Your House? Pillman, Anderson and Flair have a discussion amongst themselves, with each man clearly wanting to be the man to take out Austin.....but in the end Kane silences the lot of them, raising his arms high in the air, before dropping them down as the flames erupt from the corner turnbuckles.....</p><p> </p><p> .....McMahon quickly regains his composure after the initial shock of Kane's pyro, before smiling and making the match official......and at Badd Blood: In Your House, it will be Stone Cold Steve Austin, taking on the Big Red Monster Kane.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> Anderson is in action next, and he's in action against a seven foot giant.....but more importantly, he's in there with a seven foot giant who knows him very well, because at one point, they were both members of the legendary Four Horsmen.....</p><p> </p><p> ....speaking of former Horsemen, the gang's all here tonight....because just to round up the 1990 incarnation of one of (if not THE) most iconic factions in Wrestling history, Barry Windham is accompanying Big Sid to ringside.....</p><p> </p><p> .....I know we live in a kayfabe world here in the faux wrestling business, but Anderson and Sid really DO have legitimate heat....stemming back to a nasty incident involving a pair of scissors that actually cost Sid his job in WCW back in 1993.....and in fact, Sid was the only member f the roster to loudly object to the hiring of both Ric and Arn six months back.....obviously we don't make mention of that particular event (after all, 99% of the fans wouldn't have any idea about it) but thankfully both competitors remain professional throughout this (admittedly quite one sided) contest.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Sid controls the majority of the match, partly because he's a goddamn monster, and partly because Barry Windham is there to negate the interference from the Nature Boy, and no matter how much Flair tries, he can only look on and watch as Sid pounds the stuffing out of his best friend......of course, they don't call him the dirtiest player in the game for no reason......and after dropping Windham with a low blow on the outside, Flair reaches under the ring, pulling out Anderson's now trademark tyre iron and tossing it to the Enforcer, before climbing up onto the apron to distract the official away from the fact that Arn Anderson is armed and make, would be to announce the end of his miserable stinking career.....because after Brian Pillman proved irrefutably last night, the walking ignominy that is Dude Love, cannot and will not, EVER defeat me, he may as well hang up his stinking boots once and for all......."</em></p><p> </p><p> .......Pillman starts cackling at that....but he may well be right, because we only have about 10 minutes of air time left, and thus far, the Dude is nowhere to be seen......of course, he may well be wrong too.....because it's only a few seconds late that the Titantron flickers into life.......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img screen......he looks in pretty rough shape.....gone is his tie dyed shirt that Pillman ripped from his chest last night.....he still has the tie dyed headband and shades on however.....along with a huge white dressing covering the puncture wounds on his head from that barbed wire board last night.....</p><p> </p><p> .......Pillman cackles at the sight.....telling the Dude that he's looking pretty worse for wear there, but the Dude completely ignores him.....he says that he told everyone he had an announcement.....and this is it.....and no, it's not his retirement......it's a match.....a challenge if you will......for Brian Pillman to face him ONE more time......at Badd Blood: In Your House......but not just ANY match.....after what Brian Pillman did last night.....after placing his hands on the Dude's main squeeze.....after causing the tears of fright to pour down the faces of his little Dude and Dudette.....after leaving his broken.....bloodied.....and yes.....humiliated.....he wants to face Brian Pillman in the most brutal, violent, dangerous match imaginable......a match so brutal, that it has never been seen before......</p><p> </p><p> .....the Dude says that he wants to take the rules, and throw them out of the window.....no count outs.....no disqualifications.....no rules period.....then he wants to take a steel cage......and he wants to enclose, not just the ring.....but the entire ringside area.....but this isn't any usual cage match......and you don't win by scaling the walls to escape.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"......BECAUSE THERE IS NO ESCAPE........because on top of that steel cage, is a roof.....in fact it's less of a cage......and more of a cell.....and believe me when I say......for you Brian Pillman, this will truly be Hell.....in a Cell......"</em></p><p> </p><p> .....you would think that Pillman might have some trepidation at this announcement....but he doesn't appear to be phased at all, he just laughs.....telling the Dude that he must have some kind of death warrant to want to lock himself inside a "Cell" with Brian Pillman.....he doesn't know how much more simple he can put this until the Dude finally gets the message.......Dude Love CAN NOT defeat Brian Pillman.......he wholeheartedly accepts the challenge.....and in this so called Hell in a Cell match, he's going to put the Dude down once and for all......</p><p> </p><p> ......the Dude had been quiet for a moment there, but he speaks now.....he says that he's not actually near a monitor, so he doesn't know if Brian Pillman has accepted the offer......but he's confident that he did.....and he's also confident that he knows exactly what he said......that Dude Love can't defeat Brian Pillman.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....and you know what.....you may be right.....maybe Dude Love can't beat Brian Pillman.........</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> .......but I know a man who Mankind comes flying into shot behind Pillman, nailing him in the back of the head with a running clothesline......</p><p> </p><p> ......clearly the video on the Titantron was pre-recorded, because the Dude is still up on the big screen.....he tells Brian Pillman to say hello to his main mandible.....Mankind.....and while the Dude refuses to go full Cactus Jack again......Mankind is more than capable of making sure that at Badd Blood, Brian Pillman does NOT have a nice day......</p><p> </p><p> ......in the ring, Brian Pillman is most certainly not having a nice day right now....as Mankind is unleashing a savage attack.....culminating in a running clothesline that sends both Pillman and Mankind tumbling over the top rope.....but while Pillman crashes down to the floor, Mankind lands in a seated position on the apron, where he stands back to his feet, before running and diving onto the Corporate Cannon with a Flying Elbow Drop to the concrete.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Mankind drags Pillman back to his feet (who desperately tries to scramble away) and slams him hard into the ringsteps, before picking up a steel chair which he crashes violently over the head of the Corporate Cannon, and in a scene reminiscent of last night, we have blood once again.....except this time it's Brian Pillman that's busted wide open.....</p><p> </p><p> .......Brian tries to push himself up to a kneeling position, blood gushing from a nasty looking gash in his head......he doesn't make it far however.....because Mankind pounces in him, shoving his fingers down his gullet as he locks in the Mandible Claw.....and as the blood flows down the face of Pillman, (who is truly wearing that proverbial crimson mask) Mankind lets out that animalistic squeal, as the show comes to a close with Jim Ross declaring that Brian Pillman might have just made a big, big mistake......we'll see you next week folks.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Final Rating:</strong> /></p><p> </p><p> It's not often that an episode of Monday Nitro doesn't open up with the Titans of Wrestling either in, or on their way to the ring....well tonight we are doing neither.....but we ARE opening with the Titans......because before the opening sequence has even played we are shown a shot of the Titans of Wrestling backstage, deep in the middle of some kind of conference meeting......the entire group are gathered around a large table, with Vince Russo at the head, while Hollywood Hogan and Jean Paul Levesque sit directly opposite from each other, with the WCW Championship placed on the between them.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Hogan appears to be making the case as to why Levesque should do "what's right" for the Titans at Halloween Havoc.....with "what's right" seemingly meaning "take a dive".....</p><p> </p><p> .....he tells Levesque that the original plan all along was for the WCW Championship to come home to the Titans of Wrestling, slapping his hand on the Big Gold Belt, saying "mission accomplished"......now the new plan is to ensure that the WCW Championship REMAINS in the hands of the Titans....and the best way for that to happen, is if the Titans remain as a cohesive unit......and all members of a cohesive unit know how to make the difficult decisions when it's for the right reason.......and Hollywood Hogan as the WCW Champion is the right reason......brother......</p><p> </p><p> ......Levesque disagrees however.....stating that it's competition keeps the Titans on their toes.....it was the Titan's who took out Sting.....it was the Titan's who destroyed WCW at War Games......and at Halloween Havoc, the Titans will show why they're the strongest force in all of professional wrestling, when two members of the Titans of Wrestling, compete for the biggest prize in the sport......and no matter the outcome.....win, lose or draw.....that WCW Championship will STILL be right were it belongs......with the greatest group in Wrestling today......it just so happens that it MIGHT BE, around the waist......of Jean Paul Levesque.....</p><p> </p><p> .....that causes a little bit of an argument to say the least.....with Hogan telling Levesque not to mess with the status quo of things.....Levesque tries to bite his lip, but can't resist asking if the "status quo" is the reason that Hulk Hogan is STILL the man on top 15 years after winning his first world title.....and seven years after he was last really relevant......Hulk looks p!ssed at that comment....saying that no, the reason HOLLYWOOD Hogan is still the man on top, is because HOLLYWOOD Hogan IS still the man.....period.....no matter how many young punks come along thinking they can take his spot.....brother.....</p><p> </p><p> .....there's a tense silence as the two men stare each other down....a silence broken by Vince Russo, who tells the two men that clearly they need to work out a few issues tonight....work through some frustrations.....which is why he's booked them a match.....a tag team match against two men that also have some issues to work out.....some issues that they can capitalise on.....when they face the combination of Lex Luger......and the Giant.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p></div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote Forgotten".....</p><p> </p><p> .....during that same promo, they also singled out their opponents this evening, Jim Duggan and The Nasty Boys, as a prime example of the original invasion from up on one assault as the rest of his teammates found themselves handcuffed to the cage.....then just one night later he was in action once again, this time in a one on one match with Jean Paul Levesque, be facing off against each other at Halloween Havoc........and as unlikely as it seems, given that both men are members of the Titans of Wrestling, Hollywood Hogan and Jean Paul Levesque will ALSO be clashing at Halloween Havoc.....except their match will be for the WCW Championship....kinda makes you wonder how EITHER team will manage to co-exist tonight......</p><p> </p><p> .....the story of the match was really the fact that these two pairings just couldn't get along with their team mates.....Hogan and Levesque certainly started more united than Luger and the Giant (with the Giant quite frankly being a bit of a cocky pr!ck towards HIS partner)....but the cracks began to show there too.....around the same time Hogan refused to tag in, when an angry Giant was in the ring, leading to Levesque eating a big, giant sized head butt.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Giant actually refused to tag his partner in, out to prove a point that he should be next in line for a shot at the World Title by single handedly manhandling both Levesque and Hogan, to the point that eventually Luger had to make the blind tag just to get into the match.....a fact which backfired, because the Titan twosome were able to isolate the man and take control of the match......</p><p> </p><p> .....Luger then spends a good portion of the match trying to fight his way back into this one, as Levesque and Hogan work him over, while the Giant basically taunts him from ringside, telling him that he should have just stayed on the apron where he belonged.....in fact, we don't even get a hot tag in this one.....why you ask?.....because Hogan got so confident slapping The Total Package around, that he actually strutted over to the Giant and spat right in his face.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Hogan has a good laugh at that.....at least until he sees the look on the Giants face.....and then as the Giant steps over the top rope, Hogan runs.....forcibly tags in Levesque (who doesn't look particularly pleased either).....and tries to dive out of the ring.....except he ain't going nowhere bro.....because the Giant grabs him by the back of the tights and drags him back into the ring......and then the chaos ensues......because as the foursome go at it in the middle of the ring, it was inevitable that the ref would get knocked silly.....which he does....catching a stray elbow that puts him down and out......</p><p> </p><p> .....it doesn't stop the action however......Luger and Helmsley (the two legal men) are fighting in one corner.....Hogan and the Giant are fighting in the other corner.......that leaves a whole lot of space in the middle of the ring...........</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> bat in hand......</p><p> </p><p> .......Hogan sees him (and looks horrified), the Giant sees him (and tells him to get the hell out of here), Luger see's him (and he's the only one that looks pleased)........Jean Paul Levesque however doesn't see him.......nor does he see the baseball bat get swing at the back of his head.....he sure as hell feels it though.....or he will.....when he wakes up.....because he's out like a light.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Hollywood has seen enough, and hops to the outside, backing slowly up the aisle, as the Giant gets right up in Sting's face.....he tells him that he didn't need or want his help, so why doesn't he go back to doing what he's good at, hiding in the rafters, before the Giant does what he's good at, knocking people out.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Sting doesn't appear to be moving anywhere, and stands staring expressionlessly at the Giant, which p!sses the big man off, who shoves the Stinger right in the chest......and quick as a flash Sting swings that baseball bat again....nailing the Giant right in the midsection, doubling him over and leaving him in the perfect position for another bat shot, this time right across the back of his head......and now the Giant is out like a light too.....</p><p> </p><p> ......Luger is the only one standing in the ring, and Sting turns to him, giving him a blank stare, before he turns and exits the ring, just as the official is slowly coming round.....Lex drops down and covers the still unconscious Levesque......and after a VERY slow count, Lex Luger and the Giant are the winners, and the Giant has no idea he's even won.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner(s):</strong> Lex Luger & The Giant</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Hogan is still on the outside....and backs up as Sting advances on him with the baseball bat pointing right at his chest....Hollywood eventually comes to a halt when he backs right into the crowd rail (obviously, because he can't go any further) and Sting walks right up to him, lifting the bat up right under the WCW Champions chin, then forces the Titan's head up so Hogan has to look him right in the eyes.....</p><p> </p><p> ....there's a tense moment when it looks as though Sting is about to take Hollywood out.....until Sting suddenly steps back.....drops the bat down from under Hogan's chin.....and places it right in his hand......before climbing over the safety barrier and disappearing into the crowd just as abruptly as he arrived......</p><p> </p><p> .....in the meantime Luger is trying to rouse the Giant, just as Levesque slowly begins coming to his senses....and when the Giant DOES wake up, he wakes up angry, dragging himself to his feet by the ropes and yelling at Luger, accusing him of being in cahoots with Sting since they're such good friends.....he probably told Sting to come down here and take him out to try and weaken him for Halloween Havoc......</p><p> </p><p> .....Jean Paul Levesque is oblivious to all this as he rolls to the outside and lands on the floor in front of Hogan.....he just knows that he's had his bell rung by something extremely hard....and when he looks up, there's Hollywood Hogan standing right in front of him with a baseball bat in hand......</p><p> </p><p> .....Luger and the Giant continue to argue in the ring, with the Total Package finally snapping at the Giant that as far as he can tell, the only reason Sting nailed him with that bat, was because the Giant was acting like a complete jackass, just how he's been acting to everyone else for the last two weeks.....Giant doesn't like that comment at all, and he pie-faces Luger, planting the Total Package right on his ass, telling him that he's lucky that he isn't getting his head pulled off right now......that can wait until Halloween Havoc......before turning and exiting the ring......</p><p> </p><p> .....Levesque on the other hand wants to know exactly why Hollywood Hogan has a baseball bat in his hand....because as far as he can tell, the back of his head feels like a baseball bat was wrapped around it a few moments ago.....Hollywood protests his innocence, trying to explain that it was Sting.....Sting came down from the ceiling.....Sting hit him with a bat.....and Sting handed this bat to Hollywood......Levesque isn't buying it however, asking if that's the case, where's Sting now? Because the only person around here that HE can see holding a baseball bat, is the man that Levesque is supposed to be facing at Halloween Havoc......</p><p> </p><p> .......Luger is back on his feet, and he isn't taking too kindly to being dumped on his ass by his so-called friend the Giant, and he follows the seven footer up the aisle, grabbing him by his massive arm and spinning him around, shoving him in the chest as the two men argue......</p><p> </p><p> .....Levesque isn't listening to Hogan anymore either....and after telling him (quite loudly) that he's <em>"so full of sh!t"</em> he too shoves his tag team partner in the chest, and before you know it we have Luger and the Giant shoving and yelling in the aisle, while Levesque and Hogan do exactly the same at ringside.....this main event has broken down into a shambles of chaos and mistrust........and as the show comes to a close.....the camera catches sight of one lone face painted figure standing high up in the crowd.....as Sting looks down at a scene that HE created.....and we're out of time folks....see you next week.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Final Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <strong>WCW Presents Halloween Havoc 1997</strong></p><p><strong> Sunday, Week 4 October 1997: Only on Pay Per View</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="dL6XRDl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dL6XRDl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p></div><p></p>
