So many mystery opponents this week! I'm surprised your question mark key didn't outright revolt against you! :p

Nash and Steiner - I'll be interested to see the in-game score for this match because this should be the easiest A that someone can achieve.

Steve Austin

Brian Pillman

Southern Justice - I don't remember the last time they actually won a match, so I'll give them this one just to build up toward Survivor Series and to maybe push a little more of the dissension between Ken and Matt.

Jeff Jarrett

Jake Roberts

Hogan and Savage

Warrior

TAT

Goldberg - Ah, the only match the ToW don't win is against Goldberg... foreshadowing perhaps?

Curt Hennig - Eddie gets himself DQ'd here, I'd say.

Rock and Hardy - Rock can't be stopped just yet.

JPL - Something I found out when writing War of the Thrones back in the day... there is just no way to make "Jean Paul Levesque" sound cool. Even shortening it, it still just doesn't have the same ring to it as "Triple H" did. Instead you're left with something just as awkward as "Tri".

<p>His full name is Paul Michael Levesque, so PML could work... but we're a little way ahead of text language just yet, I think.</p><p> </p><p>

You could riff on his key influences, but that's Kowalski, Ric Flair and Harley Race, none of whom are exactly low key!</p><p> </p><p>

Something fairly timely... well, HHH was up to quite a lot in November 1997 in our timeline! But assuming that JPL and Michaels have control over it, you could hint at JPL's departure being down to his being involved with Stephanie (born 1976 so no issue there) against Vince's wishes (I know nothing happened between them in real life until 2000 or so).</p><p> </p><p>

So it could be something like:</p><p> </p><p>

"Didn't you have a girl back in New York?"</p><p> </p><p>

"I used to... still do, too, although her pop doesn't like me very much. That's how I ended up here."</p><p> </p><p>

"Well, what does she call you?"</p><p> </p><p>

"Well, she still calls me Hunter. After all..."</p><p> </p><p>

*Suggestive eyebrows, business with kielbasa*</p><p> </p><p>

Cue Hunter Levesque - no need to look for three initials; JPL is clumsy as you say, and Triple H rolls off the tongue while writing HHH I find is less easy.</p>

<p>Honestly I think it's the "Levesque" that causes the most problems....you want a name that either pops because it's short and sharp, Scott-Hall, Bret-Hart, Kevin-Nash, Hulk-Hogan, John-Cena, Lex-Luger, or you want a name you can chant, so Aus-tin, Je-ri-cho, Stei-nerrrr, Gooooold-berg, or failing that you want something that's smooth to say, so Shawn Michaels, Triple H etc.....Levesque you can do nothing with, it's clunky to say, you can't chant it, and it certainly isn't smooth to say.....I guess that's why Michael Higginbottom isn't a former WWF Champion, but Shawn Michaels is......</p><p> </p><p>

....plus Hunter Levesque is only an initial away from constantly reminding me of one of my favourite authors Hunter S. Thompson.......Hunter S. Levesque, actually I can see it now...</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Coming to a screen near you</strong>: WCW Ride Along - Fear and Loathing in Atlanta</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>: [narrating] We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like:</p><p>

<strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>: <em>"I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive."</em></p><p>

<strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>: [narrating] Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:</p><p>

<strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>: <em>"Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?"</em></p><p>

[swatting the air]</p><p>

<strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>: <em>"Huh! Huh! Huh! F###### pigs."</em></p><p>

<strong>Dr. Levesque</strong>: <em>"Did you say something?"</em></p><p>

<strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>: <em>"Hm? Never mind. It's your turn to drive."</em></p><p>

<strong>Shawn Michaels</strong>: [narrating] No point in mentioning these bats, I thought. Poor b@stard will see them soon enough.....</p><p> </p><p>

.....actually......knowing Shawn that probably did happen at some point.....</p><p> </p><p>

....but I digress, I'm about 5 minutes away from just calling him The Game at this point <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/rolleyes.png.4b097f4fbbe99ce5bcd5efbc1b773ed6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I know it doesn't eliminate the Levesque problem, but it's easier to write Hunter and make it sound cool than JPL (That's Jean Pierre Lafiette, dammit). I've always associated "The Game" with HHH's final form, and I'm not sure we're there yet if he's still playing second fiddle to HBK.</p>

/></p><p> </p><p> ....that may be so, but apparently Mr. McMahon has something else to say on that matter.....he makes his way out with the rest of his Survivor Series team (and in an effort to see last weeks assault, even has a neckbrace on as he gingerly makes his way out) and tells Austin that actually he WON'T be the WWF Champion any time soon, because his team needed to win the Survivor Series match for him to be crowned the number one contender, and Mr. McMahon was crystal clear a few weeks ago when he told Austin that if he laid as much as one finger on him before the bell rang on November 23, then that match (and with it Austin's chance to become number one contender) would be cancelled.....and as is evident by the brace currently supporting McMahon's neck, Steve Austin did NOT live up to his end of the agreement.....so it is with much disappointment that Vince McMahon must now announce that this match....is off.....</p><p> </p><p> ....the crowd obviously don't like that, and display their displeasure vocally, McMahon says that he is just as disappointed as they are, but if they are looking for someone to blame then they need look no further than that irresponsible redneck in the ring.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Austin tells McMahon that the little Mexican guy must have rattled his brain AND his eyesight last week with that concussion, because Stone Cold watched all that unfold on his television screen last week, and he certainly didn't see Steve Austin placing a single finger on the chairman.....he saw Vince McMahon get his ass whipped, no question about it, but he did not once see Stone Cold Steve Austin on his television screen......</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....so good try Vince, but uh-uh, Steve Austin didn't harm so much as one fake hair on your silly little toupee, so you can bet your ass that match is going to take place, just like you can bet your ass that Stone Cold Steve Austin is going to walk into Survivor Series, stomp a mudhole in ALL you Corporate jackasses, and walk out again as the number one contender to the WWF Title, and that's the bottom line......."</em></p><p> </p><p> .....McMahon points to the Titantron, where they show a replay of Lucha Larry beating the crap out of Vince......Patterson and Brisco.....Amature Alan, Backyard Billy, Musclebound Mike AND Puro Pete.....before dropping the chairman with a Stone Cold Stunner......</p><p> </p><p> .....the masked man is obviously Steve Austin.....same height, same build, same moveset and mannerisms....there really is no question that it's Stone Cold Steve Austin.....BUT, he never removes that mask once.....so while it's obvious who it IS, there is absolutely no way to prove it....and a frustrated McMahon knows it, finally (and reluctantly) agreeing to let the match go ahead, but not before saying there will be repercussions later tonight....there's more than one way to skin a Rattlesnake, and tonight McMahon is going to cut the head clean off......or rather, The Enforcer is going to cut the head off the Rattlesnake, when Arn Anderson goes one on one with Stone Cold Steve Austin.....</p><p> </p><p> .....rather predictably Austin has no problem with that whatsoever, telling McMahon that he's already whipped his "problem solver's" ass, you may as well add the geriatric Enforcer to the list <em>".....hell son, you were old as dirt the last time I done whipped your ass, and that was four years ago....."</em></p><p> </p><p> .....Austin says that the last time Anderson was relevant was when Stunning Steve and Flyin' Brian were making him look good during those "Flair for the Old" segments, tonight he'll drop Arn with a Stunner before dropping him back off at the retirement village....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....because it don't matter who's ass I have to whip on my way to the WWF Championship, and if I have to start with Old Man River there, then that's exactly what I'm gonna do....now you don't have to like it, I'm just telling it like it is, Steve Austin is going to be the next World Wrestling Federation Champion, and that's the bottom line......because Stone Cold said so....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....and with that Austin's music hits, and he spends a few moments "saluting" the crowd, as we air a promo video for the Survivor Series......</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> Has Goldust's lust for the unconventional (highlighted here by the fact that both Marlena AND Marcus accompany him to the ring) cost him the glory that Dustin Rhodes achieved? After all, Dustin Rhodes is a two time WCW Tag Team Champion (and one time NWA Tag Team Champion if you count the brief "unified" period) as well as a two time WCW United States Champion......when you compare that to Goldust's Championship collection (a brief stint as Intercontinental Champion, before getting injured and subsequently vacating the title) then you could argue that yes, if Goldust spent more time lusting after gold and less time lusting after his opponents, he may well be all the more successful......</p><p> </p><p> .....something about that obviously struck a chord with the Bizarre One too, because he wrestled a distinctly Un-Goldust like match here.....there was no "flirting" or suggestive motioning, just two men fighting for the victory.....unfortunately for Goldust, it was Jake that got that victory.....because after sending Marcus flying off the apron with a big slap, Jake turns around and kicks the charging Goldust in the gut, before dropping him with a DDT for the one, the two, and the three.....two circles down, seven to go....and as Jake marches on towards his ultimate goal, Goldust is left with the look of a man with a lot on his mind, as he shrugs of both Marlena and Marcus' consolations to head to the back alone.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> Jake Roberts</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> think the only other midcarder to hold an A rated match would be Rey Mysterio, who had an absolute blinder with Raven a while back).....</p><p> </p><p> .....I wasn't expecting another A rated match victory, we head to the back where Vince McMahon, Kane, The Nature Boy and The Enforcer are watching their Survivor Series partner celebrate on a monitor.....Vince is particularly pleased, saying that he couldn't have picked a better bunch of partners for Austin especially since McMahon's Corporate Corps are destroying them week in and week out.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Vince picks up a drink from the desk in front of him, physically wincing and clutching his neck as he takes a sip, before telling Anderson to make that Son of a B!tch Steve Austin suffer tonight.....Arn just smiles, telling McMahon to consider it down....he says that Steve Austin may not make it to Survivor Series by the time Arn is done with him tonight.....</p><p> </p><p> .....just then the door to the office bursts open.....and Al Snow (along with Head) comes crashing, rather clumsily into the room, with partner Chris Candido tugging at his arm, attempting to talk Snow into abandoning whatever plan his little mind has concocted.....Al shrugs him off though and marches right up there to the desk, and slams Head right down in front of Vince....</p><p> </p><p> ....Candido again tries to talk his partner out of whatever madness he has planned, but Snow isn't listening, telling his partner that he got them into this mess by bringing Sunny into the equation, now he'll get them out of it.....he says that two weeks ago they got screwed out of the Tag Titles by a young lady who's no stranger to screwing.....last week they were informed that thanks to Sunny's "negotiations" with McMahon, not only were they not getting their guaranteed rematch, but they would have to qualify to take part in a four way elimination match.....THIS week they were supposed to have that match.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....where's the match Vince?.....what happened?.....did Sunny "convince" you to cancel it?...."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....Vince hasn't got time for this nonsense....he tells Al that WHY his match tonight isn't happening is really no concern of his, but yes, Sunny and Mr. McMahon held a "private" meeting late last week, and she made some rather compelling arguments.....he says that Al Snow and Chris Candido work for HIM, and as such they will wrestle when they're told, against WHO they're told, and they will damn well leave this office when they're told.....which would be now.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"....get out....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....Snow says he knew it.....he knew that little tramp had something to do with it.....but that's ok.....Sunny isn't the only one woman......Al knows what the boss wants......and he's gonna give it to him......</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....I'm gonna give you......Head....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....Al could have maybe timed that comment a little better....because Vince was just taking a sip of water at the time.....one spit-take later and Al Snow is wiping water from his face as Vince asks him just what in the hell he's suggesting? Snow (as usual) looks confused by the question, before patting Head on the....erm....head.....saying he thought that was obvious.....he says that anything Sunny can do, Head can do better.....and Al knows that she can "convince" Vince to give them the qualifying match that they want.....</p><p> </p><p> ....when neither Vince nor Head appear to be very forthcoming with the "negotiations" Al gets slightly frustrated, telling everyone to <em>".....turn around damn it, give these two some privacy....."</em> before turning his back to McMahon, dragging Candido around with him as he goes, while also yelling at Flair, Anderson, and Kane to turn around, face the wall, and give Vince and Head a little alone time.....</p><p> </p><p> .....to their credit (and with a smirk on their face) both Flair and Arn do turn around....Kane does not....but it doesn't matter, because McMahon has had enough......he tells Snow and Candido that if they want to be a part of that four way elimination Tag Title match at Survivor Series that badly, then all they have to do is win their match next week.....and since they're p!ssing him off, that match next week will be against Ric Flair, and Arn Anderson.....they win, they're in the elimination match.....they lose.....they're not.....it's just that simple.....</p><p> </p><p> ....I think the fact that Snow and Candido now have to face two wrestlers of the calibre of Flair and Anderson to qualify for their WWF Tag Team Title opportunity, was SUPPOSED to be some form of punishment.....but if it was you wouldn't know it by Al Snow's reaction....he snatches up Head with a triumphant yell, telling Candido that he knew Head could do it....he knew she'd get them the shot, before dragging his partner by the arm back out of the room, as McMahon tells The Nature Boy and The Enforcer to stop s******ing, before muttering <em>"....Idiot...."</em> under his breath, as we go back down to ringside.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div><p> </p><p> <img style="max-width:10%;</p><p> "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/jjfSPTv.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/jjfSPTv.jpg"></a><img alt="vJbqbop.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/vJbqbop.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="zzQOcH0.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zzQOcH0.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> VS. <img alt="dEEBiBR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dEEBiBR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="MK4TY2o.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MK4TY2o.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img style="max-width:10%;</p><p> "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/GFiBCDF.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/GFiBCDF.jpg"></a></p><p> </p><p> It's time for tag team action now, as Ken Shamrock and Matt Hardy look to continue their ongoing battle with the Million Dollar Corporation, when they team up to face Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight, Ted DiBiase's Southern Justice....and since Deebs is right there at ringside, Hardy and Shamrock have bought a little bit of back-up of their own, in the form of Billy Kidman....</p><p> </p><p> ....Kidman will be joining Shammy and Hardy in their Survivor Series clash against the MDC, but tonight he's there to make sure that DiBiase isn't a factor....and he does a damn good job of it too, because any time Ted tries to interfere in the contest, Kidman is there to cut him off....</p><p> </p><p> ....unfortunately there are two other Million Dollar Corporation members to worry about.....and it's Jeff Jarrett and Rich Steiner that make all the difference here as the pair come running out towards the end of the match. know tag team wrestling..........</p><p> </p><p> .....they also have the strength and size advantage here....and they use that to their complete advantage, overpowering the smaller Harts and damn near pounding them into defeat on numerous occasions.....of course, with the power advantage going to Nash and Steiner, the speed advantage went to the Harts.....and so did the craftiness.....because with the match broken down to a four man brawl, Big Sexy comes charging at Owen Hart, looking to take his head off with a Big Boot....Owen is too fast for Nash however, sidestepping the oncoming foot......</p><p> </p><p> .....which connects with the jaw of Scott Steiner......</p><p> </p><p> .....Steiner staggers backwards, straight into a Schoolboy from The Hitman, and as the official drops /></p><p> </p><p> It's Monday Night, we are LIVE on TNT, and that can mean only one thing....it's time for WCW Monday Nitro, and much like last week we are opening with the Titans of Wrestling....unlike last week however, they are in anything but a good mood....</p><p> </p><p> ....Russo takes the microphone first, and he's not happy....he says that last week the Titan's came out here and offered Shawn Michaels the opportunity of a lifetime....the opportunity to be a part of THE number one group of professional athletes ever assembled, and no he doesn't mean WCW, he means the Titans of Wrestling....he gave Shawn Michaels the opportunity to stand side by side with greatness....to stand by the side of The Warrior....of Randy Savage....of the living Icon of professional wrestling, Hollywood Hogan....he gave Shawn Michaels the opportunity to be a part of something great, and instead he wants to play wingman to Jean Paul Levesque.....well that's fine....he can go and be best buddies with Levesque....they can stay up all night talking about boys, he can hold Levesque's hair for him when he's had too much to drink and he's vomiting in the toilet.....they can paint each other's nails, they can do whatever the hell they want........in their own time.....not on Russo's time....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"....because Shawn, if you don't have a contract with the Titans of Wrestling....if you don't have a contract with WCW....then bro, you can just stay at home and watch Nitro on TV like the millions of other losers are doing right now....because if you don't work here, then you ain't welcome here....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....Russo says that if Michaels won't play by the Titan rules, then he can watch from the sidelines as the Titans dish out their own brand of justice.....because tonight, it's Titans Revenge, and the Titans are feeling particularly vindictive....he calls out the names of the wrestlers who came out at the end of last weeks show to prevent the Titan's from putting Diamond Dallas Page firmly in his place....he says that if they want to stick their noses in Titan business, then tonight they have to pay the Titan price.....</p><p> </p><p> ....and since we are (sort of) on the subject of Diamond Dallas Page, Hollywood takes the microphone to say that of all the people to win last weeks number one contender fatal four match, Hollywood couldn't think of an easier opponent that Diamond Dallas Page....he says that the Titans have been proving for months now that DDP is nothing more than a wannabe.....he WANT'S to be relevant....he WANT'S to be a star....he WANT'S to be thought of in the same breath as a Randy Savage....a Warrior.....a Hollywood Hogan.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"....well let me tell you something brother....you can WANT to be a mega star all you want dude, but when it comes to the world of professional wrestling Hollywood Hogan is head and shoulders above the competition jack....and just like the Warrior showed you at Halloween Havoc, the Icon of wrestling, Hollywood Hogan is going to show you again at Mayhem, that you just don't belong brother....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....and just like Dallas Page doesn't belong, Hogan says that Shawn Michaels doesn't belong either....so if the pretty boy "rocker" knows what's good for him, he'll stay far away from WCW, and far away from the Titans of Wrestling.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Macho takes the microphone there, and while he's always been somewhat of a loose cannon, he's clearly not taken Shawn Michaels shunning of the Titans very well either....he basically emphasises what Russo and Hogan said before him, that Michaels made the biggest mistake of his life by rejecting the Titans.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>.....and the biggest mistake is the biggest mistake, yeah, but if you show your face in WCW again, then that's a bigger mistake than your biggest mistake, yeah...."</em></p><p> </p><p> .....Macho says that the Titans are going to erase a few mistakes tonight....the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling are going to put a bump in the road of The Road Warriors.....the Totally Awesome Trinity are going to squash three bugs, Big Bad Buff is gonna conquer the unconquered.....and The Warrior is going to send Rikishi on the first boat back to the islands....</p><p> </p><p> ....Russo says that the Titans will have revenge tonight, when they make an example out of each and everyone who thought that they could stand up to the power force around here....</p><p> </p><p> <em>".....so Shawn Michaels, watch and learn bro.....and remember one thing, you're only a footnote in professional wrestling history....a footnote who only had his fifteen minutes of fame because VINCE RUSSO made it happen......in the WWF I made you....but if you keep p!ssing me off bro, it'll be in WCW that I beak you....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....with that it looks like the Titans have made their point, and they make their way to the back....well, except for the Warrior who doesn't seem to be going anywhere.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Russo tells him to come on, they're done here, but the face painted Titan doesn't budge, and stares a hole through the Booker Man until Russo finally takes the hint.....he says that Warrior doesn't want to be wasting any more of his precious time on that fat assed Samoan Rikishi than he has too....so Big Man, get that Big Ass out here right now.....because that match is next.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> A*</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p></div><div only to have to come ALL the way back down to the ring later for his match against Rikishi Fatu....so whether 'Kishi is ready or not this match is happening now.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Warrior is one strong S.o.B.....one of the more powerful competitors in the WWF....good job too, because he's going to need every ounce of that strength to shift the weight of the big Samoan.....</p><p> </p><p> ....if you were expecting a catch as catch can classic here then, well, what's wrong with you for one....and for two, you were going to be very disappointed.....this is two men, both powerful for very different reasons (Warrior his physique, Rikishi for his sheer mass) and they just punched and kicked the crap out of each other....the Warrior actually seemed as a loss as to what to do with Big 'Kish at one point, after all, he was never going to get him up for the Gorilla Press......fortunately help was at hand.....</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img Bagwell......</p><p> </p><p> .....with Warrior down on the mat, and Rikishi up straddling the second rope (looking to hit that Banzai Drop inspired Samoan Splash) Buff hops up onto the apron and starts hurling insults at Rikishi....obviously he's never heard the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names...etc, etc...." because Big 'Kish just shrugs the insults off.....it DOES however cause enough of a distraction that the Warrior is able to get back to his feet and hook hold of the Big Samoan, hoisting him off the ropes with all his might, dropping him with not a German Suplex exactly, but a variation of it similar to Shawn Michaels original "Teardrop Suplex".....that puts Rikishi down long enough for Warrior to run the ropes, before crashing down with the Running Splash for the one, the two, and the three. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner:</strong> The Warrior</p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> they couldn't have got the night off to a better start, because Rikishi is a big, big, man to put down, but the Warrior has the victory, regardless of the dubious manner in which he earned it.......of course The Warrior isn't the only Titan in action tonight......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="MLBCNMR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/MLBCNMR.jpg" back when tonight's opponent is already in the ring.....</p><p> </p><p> .....that now familiar music begins to play, and the rookie (that Bobby Heenan has been casually dubbing 'da man on commentary in recent weeks) makes his way down the aisle, not even hesitating at the sight of two Titans inside the ring.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Schiavone says he's not sure that climbing into that ring with two members of the Titans of Wrestling stood there is such a good idea, while Heenan says that he doesn't think Goldberg would hesitate if there were twenty-two members of the Titans of Wrestling in the ring, let alone two.....</p><p> </p><p> .....he doesn't hesitate either....he climbs right through the ropes and walks straight up to the Warrior, staring him dead in the eye, while the Warrior stares right back in a rather tense moment that is only broken when Buff slaps his Titan pal on the back, telling the Warrior to head to the back, because Buff is going to break this chump in about two minutes.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Warrior slowly turns to look at Bagwell, with the expression on his face saying that he doesn't share Buff's confidence in himself with him, but at the end of the day he's had his match (and pay day) so if Bagwell wants to face the rookie by himself then so be it.....and after pausing for another brief face off with Goldberg, Warrior takes himself to the back, leaving Buff Bagwell to go one on one with the undefeated Bill Goldberg.....</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote Bill Goldberg has pretty much kept himself to himself since his arrival here in WCW.....he's had the odd limited programme, but even those have been against predominantly Tag Team wrestlers (The Amazing French Canadians and The Faces of Fear for example)....last week was his first real statement of intent, when he made his way out at the close of the show to stand shoulder to shoulder with his WCW peers, and by proxy, stood AGAINST the Titans of Wrestling.....</p><p> </p><p> ....that brings him to tonight, on the Titans revenge list and up against Buff Bagwell, who is quite possibly the biggest "name" he's faced to date.....sure Goldberg has picked up victories against tougher men (Meng and The Barbarian instantly spring to mind) but neither of those men are exactly in their prime, and they certainly aren't on the rise....Buff Bagwell however is just 27 years of age, and since aligning with the Titans of Wrestling, has seen his stock skyrocket from "one to watch" to an almost "can't miss" prospect.....he's a damn good heel too, because he's a cocky, arrogant, pr!ck that's easy to hate....I suppose you can kind of understand why he didn't think he'd need The Warrior to stick around to put an end to this little winning streak......</p><p> </p><p> .....unfortunately, Buff found out exactly the same thing that 41 men before him found out the hard way.....one Spear and one Jackhammer equals one, two, three.....and after wins on Saturday Night and War Room (and despite Buff being anything but pleased to do it) it means victory number 42 for Bill Goldberg.....that's 42-0 for those keeping score at home.....and the Titans Revenge turns into Buff Bagwell's Nightmare, and we go to a hype package for WCW Mayhem, highlighting Diamond Dallas Page's first shot at the just another in a long line of Titan Sports (former) employees looking to take their spot on the card....and they tell him as much, letting him know that they will take him out too, much like The Rock and Jeff Hardy are about to get taken out.....as Shawn is quick to point out however, he's not here to take anyone's spot....he's not even employed by WCW....he's just here to watch the show like everyone else in the crowd......</p><p> </p><p> ....Sullivan doesn't believe him in the slightest....and unfortunately, for a man dubbed the Games-master because of his ability to play mind games with his opponents, his doubt of Michaels is to his detriment here, because while he is out on the floor (yet again for the umpteenth time during the match) giving the former WWF Champion a talking to, Jeff Hardy comes flying over the ropes with a Springboard Splash that sends Sully crashing into the crowd rail....and The Rock drops Bigelow with the Rock Bottom inside the ring.....Rock may be facing something like this would happen....before reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out one genuine front row WCW Monday Nitro ticket....he says that's why he paid the big bucks for the hottest ticket in town.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Shawn says that he's here tonight as a spectator (notice he didn't say fan?) he's here to watch his pal JPL wipe the floor with one of these Forgotten chumps....the one with a muzzle he guesses.......he says that he's done nothing but sit here and watch the show, so no, Russo won't be escorting him out of the building, and no, Sullivan and Bigelow won't be so much as harming one hair on his chinny chin chin, because while Ted Turner might have more money than Jesus, Shawn is fairly sure that he wouldn't want the hefty lawsuit that would be heading his way should two members of his roster assault a helpless member of the public.....</p><p> </p><p> <em>"....hell Vinny, they'd give me so much money, I might even end up being your new boss....now wouldn't ya just love that?.....so what I suggest you do, is scurry on back to the locker rooms there, and go back to doing what you do best.....suckling at the teat of Hollywood Hogan....and let me get back to watching my 'Rassling dag-nam it....."</em></p><p> </p><p> .....Sullivan and Bigelow don't seem to give a damn about assaulting a "member of the public" but words like "lawsuit" have a tendency to make members of management nervous....and reluctantly (and with a great deal of difficulty) Russo manages to convince The Forgotten that it would be in their (and his) champion grabs his title belt and hightails it to the back, leaving a frustrated Curt Hennig watching on from the ring....</p><p> </p><p> ....we leave Curt there, and head to the back ourselves....where Mean Gene is standing by with the Total Package Lex Luger....</p><p> </p><p> ....before the interview takes place however, Mean Gene has bills to pay and a hotline to shill....which is why if you call 1-900-909-9900 right now, you can hear the inside scoop on things like Curt Hennig taking young Jeff Hardy under his wing, option 1 will let you know all about that and exactly WHAT psychology tips he was passing on to the young star before Nitro came on the air......option 2 will give you all the scoop on Bobby Eaton and Gideon Cain's blossoming student/teacher relationship, with Bobby passing on tips on selling to Missy Hyatt's monster......option 3 is a good one.....because option 3 will tell you the stories that the WWF won't....mainly the fact that their stellar legal department let the contract of midcarder Justin Credible lapse, without even offering an extension.....and as of tonight, that young man is a free agent (yeah that's true....I didn't even realise Credible's contract was expiring....whoops, he's gone).....all that and more on the WCW Hotline.....</p><p> </p><p> ....with the cheap plugs out of the way, Gene finally turns his attention to his guest....he tells Lex that it would seem to him (following both the events of Halloween Havoc AND last weeks four way number one contenders match) that the friendship between The Total Package and The Giant, is well and truly in the rear view window.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Lex disagrees.....he says that at Halloween Havoc, he could have taken the easy victory, and pinned his unconscious friend (following Sting's assault of The Giant), while last week was simply the heat of competition and the desire to become the number one contender to Hollywood Hogan's title.....Lex says that there is no reason that he and the Giant can't put all this behind them, shake hands....and move on with their lives and their friendship.......</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img into shot and drives an unsuspecting Lex Lugers head against the concrete wall, it's safe to say that he doesn't agree.....</p><p> </p><p> .....Lex is totally blindsided here, and knocked half stupid by the concrete he's in little condition to fight back, leaving the Giant to brutalise him, culminating with the seven footer wrapping his hand around the throats of Luger, and hoisting him high up into the air in position for the Chokeslam.....instead of driving Luger down to the ground however, he drives him backwards and slams him hard against the wall......</p><p> </p><p> .....Luger hits the floor anyway, it's the only place he has to land after all, and as he's flat on his back the Giant places one huge foot on his chest, using him as a stepping stone as he walks off in the same direction he arrived, telling Luger to <em>"....move on with that...."</em> as he goes.....</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="6PMfEkU.jpg" all about how Lex Luger Totally just cracked his ass landing on this concrete floor.....and kids, don't worry about getting your parents permission....not unless you're a total loser anyway....."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....Copeland slaps Gene on the back, telling him that should get him a few more calls, before the Trinity head off towards the ring area, leaving a shell-shocked Mean in WCW, The Titans of Wrestling (rubbing shoulders with the likes of Hollywood Hogan & Randy Savage) and have formed a Sub-Faction with the unlikely partner of Ray Traylor in the surprisingly entertaining Totally Awesome Trinity....they've captured the WCW Tag Team Titles, and been involved in (the rarely seen here in WCW) A graded matches......in other words, they're doing pretty damn good for themselves......</p><p> </p><p> ....their opponents? Not so much.....this was a glorified squash match......Finlay, Juvi and Disco got some limited offence in, but it was exactly that....limited.....and Traylor picked up the pinfall at around the eight evening was an eventuality that the Titans hadn't prepared for, and the fact that he's here in an unofficial capacity presents Vince Russo with some difficulties.....after all, as Michaels quite rightly pointed out, WCW wrestlers attacking paying members of the audience is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen.....</p><p> </p><p> ....most of the Titans don't see what the problem is.....after all, Ted Turner has plenty of money, he's probably got enough cash lost down the side of his sofa to cover any lawsuits....Russo is adamant though.....saying that as long as Shawn Michaels is minding his own business in the crowd, he's completely off limits....which leaves Christian Cage to wonder out loud <em>"...what if he wasn't in the crowd?..."</em></p><p> </p><p> ....Hogan says that's a very good question.....after all, it's somewhat of an unwritten rule in wrestling, that the minute a fan jumps that rail he's fair game, after all, for all you know he could be armed with anything......</p><p> </p><p> ....Russo ponders that for a moment, before finally breaking out into a smile, saying that he can work with that.....now all they need is a reason for Shawn Michaels to impulsively jump that safety rail......and since Buff is the only Titan to fail in his Titan's Revenge match, then maybe HE should be the one to do the provoking.....and guess what, Shawn Michaels close personal friend Jean Paul Levesque is in action.....next.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rating:</strong> B+</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote since Kevin Sullivan and Bam Bam Bigelow competed earlier in the evening, it's probably no surprise to anyone to find out that his opponent is the former WCW Champion Big Van Vader.....</p><p> </p><p> ....JPL makes sure to go over and greet Michaels, as Shawn wishes his friend luck against the mountain of a man....Vader surprisingly is out all alone for this one, but we soon find out why, when Bobby Heenan informs us that his "sources" have told him that Vince Russo has ordered that the remaining Forgotten members remain in the back.....apparently Russo doesn't trust them to remain disciplined enough not to assault "member of the public" Shawn Michaels, thereby setting the lawyers on him and WCW.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Levesque has had some pretty good matches in the last 4-6 weeks....nothing groundbreaking (but then few WCW matches are....yet) but solid enough that he's been in the match of the night on a number of occasions.....this wasn't one of them....in fact this was pretty poor considering the names involved, but then Vader is about 5 years past his spectacular 1992 form, and some what of a fat piece of sh!t (heh, there's a Russo classic) which means he can't go too long before he's sucking air.....he still looks like someone you'd want to avoid in a dark alley mind you.....</p><p> </p><p> .....with a showdown with The Rock on the horizon Vader needed a decent showing here, and while the match wasn't great, Levesque actually made Vader look pretty dominating for a good portion of the match, crushing JPL with his (ample) weight....Corner Avalanches, Splashes and Powerslams were the moves of choice for this Big Man.....but with Shawn Michaels cheering him on from the front row, Levesque was able to fight his way back into this, and even got the Masked (muzzled) Man into position for the Pedigree....... </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="598dEVe.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/598dEVe.jpg" mat.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Vader doesn't look overly thrilled at the fact Buff Bagwell just cost him this match (hey, he might have kicked out of the Pedigree) but a fallen JPL is obviously too good of an opportunity to pass up.....after all, it was arguably Levesques entry into WCW that opened the floodgates for these slew of new arrivals, he's Patient Zero as far as the Forgotten are concerned, and if Vader can put him out for good here then so be it.....</p><p> </p><p> ....Shawn Michaels is getting twitchy on the front row as Vader and Bagwell assault Levesque, a fact that Buff clearly spots as he begins taunting the spectator, egging him to get into the ring.....and finally, (as Bagwell is posing for the crowd and Vader is up on that second rope looking for that Vader splash) he protecting him in the hope that the so called hottest free agent in wrestling today will sign his name on the dotted line and join up with WCW......well that's fine <em>"bro"</em>, good luck with that.....but Vince Russo wields the power around here.....and as far as Vince Russo is concerned, Shawn Michaels is hereby BANNED from attending ANY World Championship Wrestling event.....and since he
