".....and yet WE are the bad guys.....WE are the ones that you choose to boo, while you blindly cheer on common street thugs like Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman.....these are the hero's you've chosen for your children......the role models you want them idolising.....welcome to America, where the land of hope and opportunity means getting cheered on while you stick a knife in someone's back.......land of the free.....home of the scumbags....." .....because after all, that's the American dream.....getting ahead by holding someone else down....celebrating by making someone else suffer..... ".....I MEAN, I KNOW WHY.....IT'S HUGE!....BUT STILL, USUALLY IT'S JUST MY FREAKS THAT CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF BIG POPPA'S STUFF, BUT LATELY IT SEEM'S LIKE ALL THE BOYS IN THE BACK KNOW THAT SCOTT STEINER IS A GENETIC FREAK IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE, AND THEY WANNA SEE HOW THEY MEASURE UP......WELL BRET, IT'S COLD UP THERE IN AMERICA JR.....SHRINKAGE AIN'T KIND.....AND YOU DON'T MEASURE UP TO BIG POPPA PUMP AT ALL....." ....Bret says that this proves his point, Survivor Series is just six days away, and all Scott Steiner can do is get in a d!ck measuring contest, it's embarrassing..... ".....IT AIN'T NO CONTEST BOY....NO CONTEST AT ALL....AND THE ONLY THING THATS EMBARRASSING, IS WHAT YOU'RE PACKING BEHIND THOSE LITTLE PINK PANTIES....." .....Nash takes the microphone for a moment, to at least TRY and get us back on track.....he tells Bret that yeah, he's right.....they did do all that (and more) to him, and you know what, they're bored of beating him up.....they've beat up him, his brother, his in-law's, his friends....hell, the only one left to slap around is old Stu, and he'd probably be tougher to beat that either of his two little b@stards down in the ring there.... ....so yes, Survivor Series WILL finally signal the end of the Hart/Wolfpac feud.....and then it's on to bigger and better for the Red and Black attack.....Scotty's got the IC strap, the Kid he's got his eye on recapturing that European Title.... ".....and Big Daddy Cool here thinks it's about time that we put that WWF Title back where it belongs.....around MY big, sexy waist....." ....Nash continues to talk as the Wolfpac (and Steiner) make their way down the aisle and into the ring....there's a good chance that things are about to get a little physical around here....Big Sexy says that once the Harts are taken out at Survivor Series, there's going to be nothing standing between him and a shot at the strap..... ....Bret interrupts, saying that's exactly the reason they WON'T win at Survivor Series....clearly Big Sexy isn't the only one with title aspirations (following last weeks little lovers tiff between himself and Scott Steiner) before fuelling the fire a little bit, saying that after all, Scott Steiner probably does deserve that shot before Kevin Nash....he never did get that rematch after losing the WWF Title to Ahmed Johnson did he.....and if nothing else you could argue that he should be due at LEAST a shot at the Intercontinental Title....after all, he never lost that title either.... ....Nash tells him that he knows what he's he's doing, and it won't work....so how about Bret stops the little mind games, puts down the microphone.....and get his ass kicked like a man..... ....Steiner tells Nash to hold on a minute, saying that Bret Hart has a point....why should HE be getting the next shot at the WWF Title? (Bret says that he shouldn't) Steiner say he never did get his rematch (Bret agree's) and while Kevin Nash spent the best part of two years playing second fiddle to Shawn Michaels, Scott Steiner was tearing through the WWF on his own, defeating Shawn Michaels in three straight meetings along the way (Bret says that Steiner does make a valid argument).....Scotty turns and tells The Hitman to stop agreeing with him, before he shoves this lead pipe up his ass, to which Hart holds his hands up, saying that the Hart Foundation are going to leave, because Nash and Steiner clearly have some things to discuss.... ....with that, the Harts climb out of the ring and head to the back, with the Hitman smirking all the way up the aisle while Jericho and Owen pat him on the back for a job well done....the pot is well and truly stirred, as we go to commercial break amidst scenes very similar to the ending of last weeks show...Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash arguing about who deserves a shot at the WWF Title first, as Hall and Waltman attempt to keep the two men from shoving each other around once more.....it's time for a Survivor Series hype package while we sort this mess out. ".....and that's the fact that if you think you've got what it takes to beat the Outlaws, we've got two words for ya......." ".....Suck It!....." ".....but from an appetite for the flesh, we go to an altogether different appetite....an insatiable appetite that can never truly be satiated, be that for food, drink, or the addictions of man.....a glutton will place that insatiable appetite above all else.....above his fellow man....above his family.....above his health...... ....Jake, you may not eat to excess but you ARE a glutton.....placing your unquenchable thirst... for alcohol over your family.....placing your insistence in over-indulging (to an almost toxic scale) on any number of your chemical vices, over your health.....you took that bridge over troubled waters...and you burned it down...choosing instead to wade into the waves of gluttony, with little more than an after-thought to the pain and suffering you were inflicting on your friends...your family....yourself..... ....one drink after the show can't hurt....two can take the edge off....three can make those bones less stiff....those aches less prominent....but why stop at three?....or four?....why stop at all?.....and so the glutton takes the extreme, and makes it the normal.....a problem that your opponent tonight knows oh so well..... ....there is no denying that much like you, your opponents gluttony was both his greatest success....and his greatest downfall....it was his ravenous appetite and unmatched size that took him to the top of the mountain, but the summit is a perilous place, and while it was his mass that propelled him into the spotlight, as his appetite grew, his success wavered.....his health wavered.....his ability wavered..... .....Yokozuna was a force of nature that no one could stop, until he stopped himself....twice the man he once was with half of the ability.....a man who would compete TWICE at both Wrestlemania IX and Wrestlemania X, reduced to sucking air on the ring apron as Kokina, three minute into his tag team matches, until this once proud warrior was taken out with barley a whimper.....by a tennis racquet of all things......" .....Raven says that Jake must be a glutton for punishment to continue on his path to destruction....and if it's a glutton he wants, then it's a glutton he shall get....he says that to descend from the third circle of Raven's personal hell, and take one step closer to his ultimate destiny, he's going to have to dig deep.....deeper than he's ever dug before.....because if he doesn't.....Kokina.....will eat him alive......Raven will be waiting.... Rating: A* </div></blockquote> <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div> <img alt="9OxCFgt.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/9OxCFgt.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> VS. <img alt="7ZrbivV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7ZrbivV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Nine Circles of Hell Match: Gluttony Jake Roberts isn't showing any signs of slowing down as he continues through Raven's Divine Comedy.....he may have just hit a massive roadblock here however, in the 589lb former two time WWF Champion, Kokina.... ....Kokina hasn't been seen in quite some time, not since Ahmed Johnson crushed his larynx near on six months ago.....he has quite the different look on his return however....oh, he hasn't lost any weight...if anything this "glutton" is bigger than ever....but he's ditched the Son of Samoa "island boy" look for a smarter dress code, and with his long elaborate silk robe, gold jewellery, and dyed and styled hair, he's looking more like a Samoan Godfather than a Samoan Sumo Wrestler..... .....Raven was right, Jake really does have his work cut out for him here, because nothing he does even phases the near 600lb monster....in fact, one DDT attempt sees The Snake lifted high off his feet and tossed halfway across the ring.... ....Raven was right about something else too though.....Kokina is a shadow of his former self....the once unstoppable Yokozuna is being stopped by his own massive weight, because it's not long into the match before the Samoan is really gassed, and completely out of breath, and all Jake Roberts has to do is stay the hell out of his way and watch his opponent tire himself out.....and it's something he does extremely well, and as a frustrated Kokina charges the Snake Man, Jake drops down (pulling the top rope down with him) and Kokina tumbles over the top and down to the arena floor below......the official makes the count, but once Kokina is down, he stays down, struggling to drag his massive weight back up to his feet....and as the official counts to ten, Jake Robert's moves one step closer to Raven, while Kokina moves one step closer to an early grave.....dear god man, eat a salad already. that you can't deny that this is one star studded match...... .....you've got some strange tag partners too....Steve Austin and Scott Steiner for example....they're on the same team tonight, but they've butted heads on numerous occasions...same can be said for Bret Hart and Brian Pillman on the opposing team.....and then you've got the two men that will be standing alone on Sunday night.....Ahmed Johnson and The Undertaker, who will be going to war over Ahmed's WWF Championship....in fact, with the exception of the Four Way WWF Tag Team Title match, every single Survivor Series match is being represented in this one bout..... .....and what a bout it was too....as everyone looked to make an impact just six days before our Thanksgiving Tradition....in fact, the only one to show any trepidation at all was Faarooq, who while happy enough to get involved in the contest, soon tagged himself out of the match anytime Big Nelson was the legal man.... ......unlike this Sunday's matches, this was a one fall to a finish bout, and it was Ken Shamrock that got to play the dubious role of "face in peril", before he finally managed to make the (very) hot tag to the Number One brawl.....so much so that it looks like a riot has broken out here in the Worcester Centrum, as the Survivor Series teams clash just six days before this Sunday's show..... .....fortunately, while we DO have chaos, it's somewhat organised chaos at least.....the Million Dollar Corporation are brawling mainly with Shamrock, Sid, Hardy and Kidman....the Nation of Domination are going to war with Bradshaw, the Bulldog, Malenko, Mysterio and Nelson (although truth be told, Faarooq is doing his best to avoid Big Nelson.... .....the Wolfpac and The Hart Foundation continue their everlasting fight....while the Hollywood Blondes collide, as Steve Austin and Brian Pillman try to knock each other's heads off....Marty Jannetty, Bob Holly, Savio Vega and Bart Gunn SHOULD have the (numbers) advantage against Vince McMahon's Corporate sell outs.....but while its four on three, those three are Ric Flair, And Anderson and Kane.....which means that the numbers advantage is completely nulled a few moments later, when Kane drops both Gunn and Holly with a double chokeslam..... ....that really just leaves Ahmed Johnson and The Undertaker.....and they look as though they could fight all the way to Survivor Series.... ....both men were kept away from the arena last week, partly because of this exact reason, the two men are liable to injure each other before we even make it to their WWF Title contest..... ....punch after punch, kick after kick, Champion and Challenger show no signs of stopping.....well.....the challenger shows no sign of stopping anyway.....because after delivering a number of hard blows, followed by a throat thrust, The Undertaker manages to hoist Johnson into position for the Tombstone.......and that's enough for Ahmed Johnson.......he's the WWF Champion damnit, he doesn't have to put up with this...... .....Ahmed wriggles free and lands on his feet, and just like that he decides to bail straight out of the ring and to the back....there's just one problem with that.....the sea of brawling wrestlers between him and the locker rooms..... .....Johnson tries to force his way through the 30 odd brawling superstars, but even the Walking Armageddon can't force his way through that many bodies....which leaves him stuck between a rock (the brawling masses) and a hard place (an Undertaker out for revenge)....except he's not stuck for long.....because in an amazing feat of athleticism, the Dead Man runs the length of the ring....leaps.....and soars over the top rope, crashing into not only Ahmed Johnson, but a dozen or so men currently brawling on the floor..... ......there are bodies strewn all over the place now after that amazing sight, and as the crowd goes wild a hoarse Jim Ross implores us to buy the Pay Per View..... Ladies and Gentlemen, we are LIVE....it's Monday Night.....and that can mean only one thing.....it's time for the Titans of Wrestling to make that now familiar walk down the aisle....

.....the group enter the ring, and it's obvious that they are not happy with how last weeks "Revenge of the Titans" show went....sure, with the exception of Buff Bagwell they were all victorious in their matches, but when the show came to a close, it wasn't the Titan's being talked about.....it was Shawn Michaels....it was Diamond Dallas Page....it was Sting....and that has to drive Hollywood Hogan's ego crazy....

.....Hollywood takes the lead tonight, telling Diamond Dallas Page that he hopes he set his VCR last week....he hopes he has that Diamond Cutter on tape....because he'll be reliving that moment for the rest of his life....("because that right there brother, was the peak of your career....cheap-shotting Hollywood, like the no good, yellow coward that you are, and hitting the ONLY Diamond Cutter that you'll ever get me with jack....and even then you had to hide behind a mask to do it").....

.....Hollywood says that since Page is obviously so keen to get into the ring, he can get in the ring right here tonight....because the man with the plan, Vinnie Ru, he's made a match for DDP....tonight....live on Monday Nitro....it's going to be Diamond Dallas Page, squaring off against.........The Giant.....("and after that big stinky Giant eats you alive....IF.....you even make it to Mayhem.....then Hollywood Hogan, the greatest wrestler of all time, is going to squash you like the scrub that you are.....and you'll feel the Bang alright brother.....the bang of Hollywood Hogan dropping the Big Leg on you brother").....

....with that out of the way, it's on to our next order of business....Jean Paul Levesque, Shawn Michaels.....and the man called Sting....

....Russo says that since Sting spends his days hiding from Hollywood in the shadows...Sting won't come out and face Hollywood like a man, because he knows that for as long as Hogan is the WCW Champion ("which is going to be for a long time yet bro, let me tell ya") then Vince Russo will not grant Sting a single shot at the big gold belt.....BUT.....Russo has said it before, and he'll say it again.....there is NOTHING stopping Sting from competing in this ring, and there is nothing stopping him from challenging for the SECONDARY titles around here.....but instead, he's been moping around like some moody teenager, hiding out in the rafters and sneak attacking the Titans of Wrestling.......well no more.....

".....because like it or not "Stinger", you ARE a part of World Championship Wrestling....you DO have an active contract with World Championship Wrestling....and that makes ME your boss....and as long as I am your boss.....and as long as you are employed by ME....you will play by MY rules.....

....you have not competed in this ring since August....for three months now YOU Sting, have not been doing your job, and I don't know about where you come from, but where I grew up...New York, New York, the greatest City in the world...if you ain't doing your job bro, then your ass gets canned...."

....so it goes like this....the very next time Sting so much as LOOKS at Hollywood Hogan....the next time he so much as waves that stupid black bat in the Titans direction.....then his little gothic ass will be FIRED for breach of contract.....so Sting, stay up and sulk in the rafters all you want....but stay OUT of the Titans way....

....now, speaking of contracts....Shawn Michaels....(the dumbest man on the planet for turning down the offer to join the Titans)....Shawn Michaels does NOT have a contract with World Championship Wrestling....last week, Shawn Michaels attended Nitro as a fan, and he kicked Buff Bagwell in the face....and ACTIVE member of the WCW roster.....because of this, Vince Russo is perfectly within his rights to bar Mr. Michaels from attending ANY future World Championship Wrestling events....so guess what.....that's exactly what he is going to do....

"....no more hanging out with your little buddy backstage....no more watching from the crowd....no, the next time you wanna watch your 'Rassling bro, you can watch it on TV at home....in fact, I suggest you order WCW Mayhem in about 2 weeks time.....because your pal Jean Paul Levesque, he's going to be in action....against Buff Bagwell...."

.....well would t you know it, that only goes and brings out Mr. JPL himself.....but he's not alone.....Shawn Michaels is with him.....the two men walk out onto the entrance way with a microphone, and Russo and The Titans are not impressed.....

.....Vinnie Ru asks Shawn if he's deaf bro?....he says he is barred from attending all WCW events because of his conduct last week....so get the hell out of here.....Levesque however tells Russo that's not going to happen.....

"....see Shawn, he might not have signed a contract with the Titans of Wrestling.....he might not have signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling.....but he DID sign ONE contract..........Shawn.....show em what ya got....."

.....Michaels looks "shocked" at that suggestion, but he shrugs his shoulders and does as Levesque asks, unbuckling his belt and pulling out his.....

".....NOT THAT!...."

.....Levesque slaps Michaels on the chest, telling him to show them the OTHER thing he's got in his pants....Michaels pulls a goofy "my bad" face, before bucking his belt back up and pulling out a piece of paper.....and taking the microphone......he says that was he has in his hand is a contract.....

".....not a contract with you.....not a contract with Eric Bischoff.......not a contract with the Titans of Wrestling.....and certainly not a contract with "dubbya see dubbya".....what this is, is a contract with my good friend JPL here....."

....Michaels fishes into his pocket and pulls out another piece of paper....

".....and this right here.....this is a managers licence..........and this contract, and this licence.....means that where JPL goes, Shawn Michaels goes.....so guess what Vinnie.....Shawn Michaels is going to be at Mayhem.....Shawn Michaels is going to be right there at ringside at Mayhem......and when JPL faces your little boy toy wannabe Buff Bagwell, Shawn Michaels is going to be right there in his corner, "managing" him all the way to victory.....and if you don't like that, I WOULD have two words for ya.....but instead, you can have this....."

....and with that Michaels tosses away the microphone, as he and Levesque give the Titans of Wrestling a good old fashioned Crotch Chop, before turning and heading to the back as Manager and Client......and the Titans of Wrestling are NOT amused.

I've been listening to "The Lapsed Fan Wrestling Podcast" this week (as I do most weeks....do yourselves a favour and check it out....the only wrestling podcast you'll ever need) and we are currently working through the "Lamentable Tragedy of WCCW".....because of this I've had the god awful song "Heaven needed a Champion" from the David Von Erich memorial stuck in my head......well heaven might have needed a champion in 1985, but in 1997, Vader needed a Victim....that's why he crushed Rick Martel.....

......the match wasn't long....the match wasn't pretty.....but it did its job....and so did Martel....putting up enough of a fight to make it an entertaining match, but eventually succumbing to the Vader Powerbomb....as Vader and The Forgotten march on with their mission to take out the "WWF Outcasts"

Big Bammers makes his way out, to join his Stablemates Big Van Vader and Kevin Sullivan in the ring....the two big men stand in the background looking on menacingly (A and A* respectively in that department....not too shabby) as Sully takes the microphone.....

.....he says that WCW Mayhem is just thirteen days away, and if there is one thing that Kevin Sullivan has always relished in, it's Mayhem.....thirty men....one ring....one shot at the WCW Championship at Starrcade for the winner?....well consider this The Forgotten's official entry into the Mayhem match.....Sully says that while The Forgotten are far from finished with their mission.....and while The Forgotten are far from finished with The Rock.....Mayhem will be all about one thing.....securing that shot at the WCW Championship.....

.....Sullivan says that these fickle fans might have "Forgotten", but it was only last year that BOTH Vader and Bam Bam main evented Starrcade....and Bam Bam Bigelow was the reigning WCW Champion at the time.....

".....you have forgotten....but we have not....so at Mayhem, we WILL dominate....we WILL decimate.....we WILL destroy.....and no matter who stands before us....be it a Rick Martel....a Rikishi....a Jeff Hardy.....even your precious Rock....."it doesn't matter"......all will fall.....and at Starrcade 1997.....be it Vader....Bam Bam.....or Myself.....The Forgotten will bring that Championship home once again....."

We go backstage for the first time this evening, where Mean Gene is standing by to shill the hotline....1-900-909-9900....where you can get all the latest backstage news, including that of a possible new arrival here in WCW.....Option 1 will give you all the information we CAN give you on that......one person who will NOT be joining WCW anytime soon is Stone Cold Steve Austin, who has just put pen to paper on a multi-year, very lucrative deal with "the other guys" as New York attempt to continue to push WCW's cast off's....Option 2 will tell you all about that ("that" being the fact that Steve Austin is now the highest paid wrestler in the WWF, with his new deal coming with a whopping $22.000 a month pay raise, pushing him up to $60,000.....I say highest paid....he's actually the joint highest paid thanks to the Wage Matching clause that I had to put in both Kevin Nash and Scott Halls contracts to keep them around almost two years back.....are the Outsiders worth 60 grand a piece in late 97's WWF?....whether they are worth it or not is irrelevant, that's what their contracts dictate.....Bret Hart also requested a pay rise thanks to Austin's new deal.....he only got 75% of what he wanted, but that still puts him on $56,820.....incidentally, the next two highest paid stars? Ahmed Johnson and Ric Flair.....both of whom are on $50,000 a piece, which considering ones current health issues, and the others time decline, is frankly daylight robbery........but I digress......

....with the shill done, Gene turns to his guests.....the Titans of Wrestlings Totally Awesome Trinity.....WCW Tag Team Champions, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, and The Enforcer Ray Traylor.....

....Gene says that there's a tag team match coming up next, The Nasty Boys taking on Gideon Cain and Mike Awesome....as yet, their next challengers have yet to be announced, would they consider this match a number one contenders match? Copeland and Cage look at Gene for a moment....then look at each other....then look at the Enforcer....and burst out laughing (while Traylor stands stone faced between them).....once the laughter has subsided, Copeland asks why in the world they would consider this a number one contenders match?....

".....I don't know if you saw Gene-o, but we totally kicked the crap out of the Not-So-Nasty Boys already......and as for Gideon Lame and his Totally Not Awesome partner, we've been beating them up for weeks now....."

....Gene ask then if not the Nasty's or Missy's Men, who DOES deserve a shot at the titles? But after a brief squabble between themselves about the tag team division, the Totally Awesome Trinity finally come to a decision......NOBODY.....there's not a team in WCW that can come close to matching Copeland and Cage for awesomeness......hell, there's not a team in the world.......

.....it would appear that Madusa disagrees.....because she walks into shot along with the Pitbulls, telling the Trinity that she's got their next contenders right here.....

.....for the second time this segment, Copeland and Cage burst out laughing (and even Traylor cracks a wry smile before he catches himself).....Madusa isn't sure what's so funny, but (in between bursts of laughter) Cage says that if they're looking for the Westminster Dog Show then they're totally working in the wrong company.....this is WCW, and the Totally Awesome Trinity rule.....Cage tells the Mutt's to beat it, before they have the Enforcer neuter them.....

....Copeland interrupts his partner though, telling him to hang on.....they DO need to put the titles on the line at some point because of that totally stupid 30 day rule....can he think of an easier defence than these two stray hound dogs? Copeland thinks not.....and he accepts Madusa's challenge, telling her that they will see them at Mayhem.....before the trio walk off (Copeland and Cage still chuckling) leaving Madusa and the Pitbulls with Gene, who says that it doesn't seem as though the Champions are taking this challenge too seriously....Madusa says that's fine.....they will.....when her Pitbulls have them by the jugular at Mayhem....and we go to our next match.

If there's one (or two if you count Jimmy Hart) manager here in WCW that knows the Nasty Boys well, it would be Missy Hyatt, who managed the duo to the WCW Tag Team Titles back in 1993.....

.....she will be hoping to replicate that success with her current clients, Mike Awesome & Gideon Cain....to have that success however, her men are really going to have to be picking up victories over the likes of Knobbs and Saggs, who (while still arguably one of the more over team) are past their prime to say the least.....

....fortunately for Missy, her men were more than up for the task....it was a back and forth brawl, but after Gideon Cain dropped Sagg's with the East of Eden, this one was all over

From there we go backstage, where Mean Gene is standing by with the public face of the WCW Championship Committee, Eric Bischoff....Gene says that Eric specifically requested this time, "so please tell us what's on your mind".....

....Bischoff thanks Gene, before reiterating that he did indeed request this time, and he requested it for two reasons....the first being the upcoming Mayhem match....he says that for once he agree' with Vince Russo, with this more streamlined version of their usual World War 3 match being the better option....and the added prize of the winner being granted an opportunity to challenge for the WCW Title at Starrcade is a stipulation that he's particularly interested in, because as the face of the Championship Committee, this match now has Championship implications, which means he has some say in the way that it's being structured.....

".....so first of all, despite what Mr. Russo will tell you, there are PLENTY of worthy opponents out there, both in WCW and ELSEWHERE......which is why entry to this Mayhem match is NOT limited to World Championship Wrestling employee's, but professional wrestlers the world over.....Japan....Mexico....Europe....Asia.....if you are eligible to compete in the United States of America, then you are eligible to compete in the Mayhem match, and you are eligible to compete for the WCW Championship at Starrcade......once you sign a WCW contract.....

....all you have to do is submit your interest to me, and then myself and the rest of the Committee will work through that list of names, until we narrow it down to the thirty entrants.....now, with that being said, there is one small concession we agreed to make with Vince Russo to allow for this open door policy....and that is that Shawn Michaels is NOT allowed entry into the Mayhem match.....UNLESS.....he signs a contract with World Championship Wrestling between now and midnight the Saturday before the event......"

.....Gene is particularly excited by this revelation, wondering which (if any) international stars we could potentially see at Mayhem....before asking Bischoff what the second point he had was?.....

.....Bischoff says that in the interest of opening the possible international boarders, he's also looking to open up the Championship opportunities around here as well.....he says that WCW has some of the greatest wrestlers in the world, but also wrestlers that (as long as Vince Russo has power) that will never be granted an opportunity to shine......men like Juventud Guerrera, like Kid Kash......like Taka Michinoku......men that just don't fit the mould that Vince Russo see's as a "top star", but also men that can do things that your Hollywood Hogans and your Warriors could only dream of........which is why we here in WCW are going to give them the opportunity to shine.......when they compete for this.......

......Bischoff turns off camera and picks an item up, which he holds up for the camera to see......

"......the WCW Cruiserweight Title.....and in the coming weeks we will be running a tournament to crown a champion.....with the final match coming at Starrcade.......thank you Gene......"

".......woah, woah, woah......hold on there esè.......make way for the Papi of Perfection holmes......"

.....the Papi of Perfection?.....that can only be Eddie Guerrero.....as the current reigning WCW United States Champion comes sauntering into shot with his title draped proudly over his shoulder......

"......oralè vato......if you're taking names for Mayhem, then your first name is right here esè......"

.....Eddie says that he's beat everyone there is to beat when it comes to his United States Championship, so the way he sees it, it's time to add some more gold to his collection.....the WCW Championship......

.....Bischoff says that Eddie may claim to have beaten everyone worth beating.....but he's NEVER defeated Curt Hennig.....in fact, the only reason that he's here as the US Champion right now and Hennig isn't, is because Eddie has taken every cheap loss in the book to escape with the title......well, if he wants to escape with the title at Mayhem, then he's REALLY going to have to earn it.......because he's going to be defending the US Championship against Curt Hennig, one last time.......no count-outs.....no disqualifications......no pinfalls......no submissions......

.....with that, Bischoff slaps Eddie on the back and walks out of shot.....leaving a mortified looking United States Champion behind.

It's time for a title match now.....and it's a bit of a strange one.....

.....these two have met before for the WCW Television Title....back when Tajiri was a plucky underdog babyface.....now he's a member of James Vandenberg's Unholy Ministry.....and after turning his back on the popular Jeff Hardy, most definitely NOT a babyface.....but then neither is his opponent.....the cocky and arrogant Lance Storm.....so who the hell were the crowd supposed to cheer for?.....

.....luckily they didn't have to try and work it out for very long.....

......because midway through the match, both Mortis and Jeff Hardy came brawling their way out from the back and down the aisle.....

.....Mortis appears to have the advantage, but young Jeff Hardy must be getting sick of fighting Vandenberg's goons by now, and he is able to fight back, before finally sending Mortis flying into the crowd with a back body drop over the crowd rail......

.....Tajiri is suitably distracted by this, and as he turns his back on his opponent, a quick roll up is all Storm needs to win the match and retain his Championship....

Winner: ....and Still WCW Television Champion.....Lance Storm.

....not that Tajiri really has time to process the loss.....because as soon as the official rings the bell, Jeff Hardy is charging down the aisle away from Mortis and in his direction.....

.....with Mortis out of the equation briefly, Tajiri obviously decides that he's better off cutting his losses and getting the hell out of dodge.....and he quickly bails to the back with Hardy hot on his trail.....

.....which leaves Lance Storm all alone to celebrate his "victory"....and celebrate he does.....in fact, he spends so long boasting about his big win that he's still there in the ring when the next match is due to start.........and the first contestant makes his way out........

.......and what a contestant......because it's the undefeated rookie monster (who is currently 44-0 after picking up wins on our B-Shows through the week) Bill Goldberg......

......this isn't the first time that these two men have crossed paths.....they met in the aisle-way a few weeks back, which saw the (rather arrogant at the time) Television Champion decisively moved to one side......they also bumped into each other again on WCW Saturday Night....again with the confident champion attempting to dismiss the (so far) unstoppable Goldberg.....

......Storm isn't any more respectful here either.....and as Goldberg climbs into the ring for his match, Storm berates him for interrupting the Champion's Celebration.....telling him that someone should teach the rookie a little bit of respect.....Goldberg snarls at Storm (who almost drops the title he backs off that quickly) and the TV Champion tells Bill that he doesn't have time for this, turning to exit the ring.....

.....the fact that Goldberg IS a rookie has never been clearer than right here.....because instead of making sure that Storm has actually left the ring, he simply turns away.....and receives a shot from the Television Title right to the back of the skull that puts him down.....

.....now Storm DOES leave.....he's made his point.....and here comes His Lordship running down the aisle......someone is looking to steal a quick victory.....

(.....I know what you want here.....you want a repeat of that clusterf*** that was Bill Goldberg vs. Steven Regal from early 1998 don't ya? What the hell is wrong with you people

....well for what it's worth, Goldberg was seriously off his game tonight, and Regal was protected to take the loss without complaint.....so make of that what you will.....)

....Regal went for the cover the moment the bell rang, after all, the rookie was down....vulnerable....and knocked silly by Lance Storms Television Title....probably not going to have a better opportunity to beat the streak......

.....Goldberg does get his shoulder up at the last moment however, and Regal can't believe it.....guess that means it's time to try for the Regal Stretch.....

.....Goldberg isn't done just yet however, and he has enough power in his legs that Regal isn't able to fully apply the hold.....Regal transfers into almost a Crossface manoeuvre, but with his legs free Goldberg is able to power up to a standing position with Regal mounting him, before driving himself (and by proxy, Regal) hard into the turnbuckles....

.....His Lordship releases the hold, but Goldberg is still groggy from both the belt shot AND Regal's offence, and the former Television Champion is able to maintain the upper hand....the commentary team question exactly how much luck Regal would be having, had Lance Storm not introduced that Television Title to the back of Billy Boy's head....Heenan (who is a big fan of Goldberg on commentary) claims that this match would have been over five minutes ago had this been a straight up one on one match from the get go.....

.....in the end it doesn't matter.....Regal begins to get a little over confident at having the majority of the offence so far, and that comes back to bite him in the ass.....because Goldberg reverses an Irish Whip.....nails Regal with a Spear......and one Jackhammer later, Mr. Goldberg makes it 45-0.....and Mr. Regal is done....

.....another impressive win for Goldberg, and as he has been doing since his debut, Bobby Heenan wonders what's next for "da man".....Schiavone says that Mean Gene has been attempting to find that out for months now and has yet to get a single answer out of the undefeated rookie.....Heenan says that's because Mean Gene is a hack, if you want the scoop then you should send a real broadcast journalist to interview him.....

.....Schiavone and Tenay find that highly amusing, telling the Brain that is he's such a good "journalist" then he should go ahead and try.....the laughing obviously annoyed Bobby, because he gets up haughtily from his chair, indignantly marching over to the aisle-way, where the victorious Goldberg is marching to the back....

".....Mr. Goldberg?.....Mr. Goldberg?....Bill?....can I call you Bill?......I'm going to call you Bill.......another impressive display...another impressive win....I know you haven't had much to say to these other Humanoids, I wouldn't want Okerlund running out here bothering me either, especially when he's usually got mayo in his moustache......but you can tell the Brain the one question everyone has on their lips.....after 45 consecutive victories without a loss, there's only one thing we all want to know..........Who's Next?....."

......who's next?......that's got a bit of a ring to it hasn't it......looks like Goldberg thinks so too......because while he very nearly walks off without uttering a word, he changes his mind as he turns back to stare menacingly into the camera....and he growls his first spoken words since making his debut.....there are only four of them....but they're clear and to the point.....

".....Lance Storm.......YOU'RE NEXT!!....."

......before marching to the back, leaving a very smug looking Bobby Heenan to head back to his place at the announce table, point proved.....(four word) interview got......

Mean Gene may have been pipped to the post when it comes to getting a few words from Bill Goldberg......but in the now famous words of his CURRENT guest, "It Doesn't Matter"....because he's backstage with The Rock.....

.....Gene says that The Rock has made quite the impression on these fans since his arrival....but not everyone has been quite so enthused by his arrival....in fact, The Forgotten in particular have made their feelings about The Rock (and the number of other new arrivals) crystal clear...and while the emphasis right now may well be on entering the Mayhem match in less than two weeks, it's clear that Big Van Vader in particular, still has his sights set firmly on the Rock......

".....firmly on the Rock?......firmly on the Rock?.......Gene, the only thing Big Van Vader is going to have his sights firmly set on, is The Rock's foot kicking him straight in his Triple XL candy ass.......see The Rock, he already sent Bam Bam waddling back to Bedrock at Halloween Havoc.....he smacked the cobwebs off the Crypt Keeper on Nitro and sent Kevin Sullivan back to whatever creepy place he calls home.......as far as Big Van Vader goes, anytime Vader wants to go one on one with the Great One, he's going to find out what the Millions...and Millions of The Rock's fans already know.....and that's that Big Van Vader is nothing but a 450lb Grade-A piece of Monkeycrap....."

Chris Benoit has had more than his fair share of problems with the Titans of Wrestling....The Canadian Crippler has been tipped for big things by virtually the whole wrestling industry....in fact, the only people that don't see the untapped potential in this former member of the Four Horsemen seem to be the Titans themselves, who have deemed Benoit "not at their level".....funnily enough, for someone not at his level, Chris Benoit certainly took Hollywood Hogan to the limit on a number of occasions, even narrowly missing out on capturing the WCW Title thanks to Titan interference.....

......speaking of Titan interference.....it reared its ugly head in this match too.....

.....it was a fairly even match.....after all, Buff Bagwell has been tipped as one of the next big things in wrestling for a reason.....but Benoit is a man alone, and Buff Bagwell certainly is not....

.....because where one Titan goes, another is never far behind.....and it's Randy Savage (another Titan who has a rather "colourful" history with Benoit) that makes his way out for this one.....and as Buff retains the attention of the official, Savage comes off the top with an Ax-Handle to the back of Benoit's skull that drives him down to the mat.....

......Savage bails to the floor, and Benoit slowly gets back to his feet.....but Buff is there in the corner waiting.....and one Blockbuster later, this one is all over.....

Winner: Buff Bagwell

.....well, the match is over.....the action is not....I'm sure a lot of people expected Benoit to pick up the win here tonight, but truth be told, Buff Bagwell eats the loss in more matches than he should, but that's what happens when you're the lowest name on the totem pole of a group that contains Hollywood Hogan, Randy Savage and The Warrior.....sometimes you have to take the losses that others wont.....so he deserves his victory tonight.....

.....Chris Benoit on the other hand, did NOT deserve the beating it looked as though he was about to receive.....and as Savage and Bagwell stand over him, it looks like it's about to go from bad to worse for the Crippler.......

.......fortunately for him, help is at hand......help in the form of Triple H and HB....ahem....I mean JPL and Shawn Michaels.....

.......the duo tear down the aisle and Levesque goes straight for his Mayhem opponent Buff Bagwell, tackling him to the mat and unloading on him with punches......

......as Randy Savage comes face to face with Shawn Michaels......

......The Macho Man has been quite vocal in his opinion of Shawn Michaels.....and lets him know again right now that there's no place for him here in WCW.....he doesn't work here.....he doesn't belong here......so just leave......

......Michaels is un-phased, telling Savage to hold on a minute.....he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a coach's whistle, which he puts around his neck......blows on while giving his "client" Jean Paul Levesque some encouragement in his current brawl with Bagwell......then turns back to face Savage......blows the whistle again.....

....while giving Savage the Crotch Chop......

.....oh, Macho doesn't like that.......and he charges straight at Michaels......who obviously anticipated just such a response......

.....because he's waiting with some Sweet Chin Music, right to the jaw of Savage.....

.....Macho goes down, just as Bagwell scurries free of Levesque....and Buff quickly grabs the fallen Randy Savage, dragging him to the outside and assisting the half conscious Macho Man back up the aisle and to the safety of the back......score one to Levesque in his war with the Titans......and he further cements his new found fan favouritism by helping Chris Benoit back to his feet......

.....Benoit is naturally suspicious (following Levesque's Titan antics in recent months) but he finally takes JPL's outstretched hand, thanking him for the assist.....

.....he turns and offers the same sentiments to Shawn Michaels.....but Michaels isn't interested....

.....Shawn tells Benoit that he's not out here for him.....he's out here for HIM (indicating to Levesque) so he can save his thanks for someone that cares.....

.....Michaels slaps Levesque on the back, pointing to the back in a "let's get out of here" gesture, before doing just that.....JPL follows, but not before giving Chris Benoit an almost apologetic look and a shrug of the shoulders, as manager and client head to the back.....and so do we......

.....where Mean Gene is standing by with Diamond Dallas Page, Kimberly.......and Lex Luger?....

.....Gene says that Page has got a hell of a match coming up, when he faces The Giant next......but while his opponent tonight is more mountain than man, this match is still dwarfed by the sheer size of the match that Page will be involved in at Mayhem.....truly the biggest match of his career, when he faces Hollywood Hogan for the WCW Championship.....

.....Page is in 100% agreement......saying that these next few matches aren't just the biggest matches of his career.....they're the biggest moments in his life.....he says that he knows full well that the 7 foot tall, near 500lb Giant is going to be the toughest match of his life......to date......but if he can get through the Giant tonight, then everybody will realise that Diamond Dallas Page is the real deal.....

"......and believe me.....if they DON'T.....then watching me drive Hollywood "Scum" Hogan's face into the mat at Mayhem, and bring the WCW Championship home where it belongs, will leave NO doubt that there is NOBODY that I can't put down with the Diamond Cutter....."

.....Gene turns his attention to Lex now, asking the Total Package what his part is in all this?....Luger says it's simple, he's learnt from his mistakes......he says that he's already lost one friend because he and The Giant were too focused on their individual goals....he's not planning on losing any more.....he says that he's here to support Diamond Dallas Page in his match tonight....and he's FULLY behind Diamond Dallas Page at Mayhem in his WCW Title Match....

.....Luger says that at Mayhem, he has two goals......winning the Mayhem match (and getting the Starrcade title shot in the process) and gaining some measure of revenge against the Giant for his actions last week.....and Lex says that when HE wins at Mayhem......and PAGE wins at Mayhem, he will be there to shake the man's hand both BEFORE their Starrcade showdown, and AFTER their Starrcade showdown......win....lose.....or draw......

.....as for tonight, Lex is going to be right there at ringside to make sure that the Titans of Wrestling don't show their faces......and to watch DDP make The Giant.....feel.....the.....

It's Main Event time.....and a huge stepping stone for Diamond Dallas Page on his road to Mayhem, when he has to go one on one with The Giant.....

.....the announcers remark that it's no surprise to see Page tested against a man like the Giant just 13 days before he challenges for the World Title, while the Champion has basically had the night off.....it clearly pays to have friends in high places (remarks The Brain).....

.....Lex Luger does indeed accompany his (new) friend DDP to the ring....and the Giant is quick to taunt him, asking how he feels after his little trip last week? Before telling him that it won't be long before Luger has no friends left at all, because The Giant is going to crush Page like a bug tonight....and as soon as he gets his hands on his other buddy, the "Stinger", he's going to pop his little face painted head like a grape too.....

.....Luger tells Giant to concentrate on Page, not him.....and he does.....and Page takes a hell of a beating truth be told......but we've seen how resilient this man can be.....we saw the beating he took at War Games.......we saw the beating he took at the hands of the Warrior.....and while he lost BOTH of those matches, he only really lost either because of outside influences.....

.....Giant's own cockiness is his undoing here....that and the fact that he's so focused on taunting Luger throughout, even slamming Page to the mat and then asking the Total Package if he remembers how this feels (as he stands on the chest of Dallas).....he tells Luger to watch this (wrapping his huge mitt around the throats of Page and hoisting him high in the air) holding his opponent in position as he shout to Lex that this Chokeslam is just for him.....

.....problem is, with all that delay, Dallas was able to find the time to shift his body weight......and from high up in the air he's able to transition from the Chokeslam, straight into the Diamond Cutter.......and BANG.......three seconds later, the everyman has defeated the giant......

Not that Page gets to celebrate his (huge) victory for long.....because here come the Titans of Wrestling.....well....most of them.....Buff Bagwell and Randy Savage have obviously chosen to remain backstage to lick their wounds.....

.....of course, that still leaves Hollywood Hogan, The Warrior, and the Totally Awesome Trinity for Luger and Page to contend with.....that's five on two for anyone not keeping count.....not great odds.....and as the Titans surround the ring, it looks like there's a good chance of DDP not even making it to Mayhem.......

.....it's time to pay it forward though.....because after receiving a helping hand in his own outnumbered battle with the Titans earlier, Chris Benoit comes running down the aisle, slides under the bottom rope.....and stands side by side with Luger and Page......

.....it doesn't stop Hogan and co. from attacking though.....they still have the numbers advantage after all....

.....not that you'd know it.....

.....because as they climb into the ring, they are met by a cascade of blows that almost instantly sends them reeling.....Benoit is single handedly fighting off Copeland and Cage, while Luger and DDP more than hold their own against Hogan, Warrior, and Traylor......

....then The Giant gets back to his feet....

.....and drops Luger with a big headbutt to the back of his skull.....

.....is the Giant defecting to the Titans of Wrestling?....don't bet on it.....he may be helping out Hogan and his cronies here, but that's purely to get his hands on Lex Luger.....take the Total Package out of the equation and the Giant is still very much interested in stepping into the ring with Hollywood for the WCW Championship......

.....the babyfaces have no chance now.....Giant goes to work brutalising Lex Luger, Copeland, Cage and Traylor lay a Totally Awesome beatdown on Benoit.....and that leaves Hogan and Warrior to show DDP exactly what they think of him.....and as Warrior whips Page into a Big Boot, a loud chant begins to resonate throughout the arena.......

".......WE WANT STING.......WE WANT STING.......WE WANT STING......."

......except Sting ain't coming......Sting can't come......not unless Sting wants to find himself sat in the unemployment line......

......although as Hollywood Hogan drops the Leg across the fallen Diamond Dallas Page to close the show, the camera does catch sight of a lone figure high up in the rafters......

......watching.....waiting......helpless......because for now, that's all he can do......watch the Titans of Wrestling do what they do best......beat people down.......see you next week fans.

Undertaker - Taker winning caps off his feud with Ahmed and gives you a nice transitional champion for the next few months.

The Rattlesnakes - Austin is the sole survivor, I have something in mind that you might do but I won't go into it until after the show.

The Hart Foundation - Bret is still a big time player and you can use him very effectively as such, and the Wolfpac can go into feuding with a heel turned Scott Steiner. Bret is the only survivor here.

World's Most Danger---hahaha, I almost made it through that name without laughing - Kidding aside, the M$C haven't done a whole lot in the past few months aside from Jeff picking up the Euro title. Shamrock could make a decent upper card/main event floater (kinda like how Jericho was toward the tail end of the 2000s) and a win here can maybe elevate him in that direction. Ken and Sid are survivors here because both of them fall under that same heading.

The Nation - Both the M$C and Nation have been spinning their wheels in the wake of Mr. McMahon's group taking over the WWF, but at least they hold some potential to get out of neutral. I'll go on a limb and say all of the Nation survive this one.

Harlem Heat - The little aside between the Heat and the Outlaws was nice and maybe could lead to a nice change of the guard for a little while. The final competitors could easily be Dustin Rhodes and Marc Mero after their big run-in on Raw.

I'm now intrigued if you could book a long, long elimination based match with 8/10 main eventers and have it get a good rating; But knowing you could probably put those same workers in 4/5 singles matches and get at least a couple of A's out of it, well, why bother? Still, the Survivor matches do tick the variety box - but in booking terms, WCW probably did it better with War Games for a big multi-man match.

Eliminated: Scorpio .....time to re-group....and I don't think the rest of the Nation are particularly pleased with the way Scorpio was eliminated, nor the fact that Faarooq stood by, watched, and did nothing as it happened....but Faarooq is the boss for a reason, and he soon rally's the troops back into line..... .....seeing that they are now at a one man disadvantage the strategy seems to be to attempt to isolate one of the two smaller opponents, either Rey Mysterio or Dean Malenko (and as far as Faarooq is concerned, definitely NOT Nelson) problem with that is that both Mysterio and Malenko are very good at what they do....and what they do, is defy the odds against larger opponents.....which is why after D'Lo heads up to the top rope, Rey Mysterio is able to clip his ankles (crotching him on the top rope) and climbs up to join him, before sending Brown flying with a top rope hurricanrana.....and that's all she wrote for D'Lo Brown.... Eliminated: D'Lo Brown ....I think it's safe to say that the Nation were not expecting this.....and now they are TWO men down....the only saving grace for Faarooq is that it's the three biggest members....himself, Kama, and the Worlds Strongest Man, Mark Henry.....and it's Henry that shows his power, when he catches a Mysterio cross body attempt from the top, before driving him into the mat with what has been dubbed the World's Strongest Slam....and Rey isn't getting up from that...... Eliminated: Rey Mysterio ....Bradshaw hits the ring immediately, and almost takes Henry's head off his shoulders with a clothesline that looked like it came straight from hell, and it was only Faarooq breaking up the pinfall that saved the Nation man..... .....Faarooq tagged himself in, and he goes at it with Bradshaw, with both men showcasing their power.....you don't become the leader of a Nation without knowing when brains are more beneficial than brawn however, and on a rope running sequence, Kama slaps his leader on the back (making the blind tag) meaning that Bradshaw was completely unprepared for the running Big Boot that came his way a few moments later....and just like that, this is all square again..... Eliminated: Bradshaw .....it's all even once more.....three men on one side, three on the other.....it could almost be classed as a fair fight.....I say almost.....because after a brief huddle, Faarooq obviously dished out the new game plan....a game plan that saw Mark Henry head to the outside to collect a chair..... .....Henry gets back into the ring and smashes the steel instrument right between the eyes of Dead Malenko....and yes, pinfall's, submissions, count-out's and most importantly, disqualifications all count....which is why Mark Henry is instantly ejected from this match.... .....Jim Ross says that was a pretty stupid move by the Nation, but Rude isn't so sure.....in fact, after (an already disqualified) Mark Henry then turns and smashes the Bulldog between the eyes with the weapon (knocking him off the apron in the process) and Faarooq lifts Malenko up and slams him into the mat with the Dominator.....just like that we're all square once more....it's two a piece, but as Nelson steps over the top rope, Henry again swings that steel chair, smashing it three times into the exposed Knee area of the big man......and while the sides are all equal, and Nelson is down on the mat clutching his knee.......NOW Faarooq is more than happy to step in the ring with the big man..... Eliminated: Mark Henry (via disqualification) Eliminated: Dean Malenko .....and after two months of tactical retreat (that's running away to you and me) Faarooq has got plenty of pent up aggression to unleash on his former team mate....Nelson might be damn near seven feet tall and close to half a ton, but on one leg all that size is meaningless...in fact, it's some what of a hinderance, because every time he attempts to mount a comeback his limb buckles under his mammoth weight..... .....Bulldog is back on the apron after having his bell rung by that chair shot, but he doesn't look to be anywhere near 100%.....he still shouts words of encouragement to Big Nels, urging the hobbled giant to get over to him and make the tag....which is exactly what he does after a clash of heads puts both Nelson and Faarooq down, leading to both men crawling to their respective corners..... .....Bulldog is in, Kama is in.....and they are going all out with rights and lefts.....Davey Boy has been somewhat of a forgotten commodity since his split from The Hart Foundation however, and he definitely has something to prove....with so many big names right now in the WWF it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle, a good showing on one of the "Big Four" shows could go a long way to revitalising his career, and a good showing is what he gives.......because as well as dealing with Kama, he manages to fight off Faarooq too, tossing the Nation leader over the top rope to the floor, before impressively scooping up Kama and driving him into the mat with that Running Powerslam......and three seconds later, Faarooq finds himself all alone..... Eliminated: Kama ......and he's not happy about that revelation either....the Nation aren't used to being outnumbered....Faarooq tries to even out the numbers quickly, sliding into the ring and rolling up The Bulldog, but Davey Boy gets his shoulder up at two, so that doesn't work.....and things go from bad to worse, because as Faarooq looks on in horror, Davey reaches back and tags in Nelson....and while the big man's legs still aren't at 100%, he's certainly recovered enough to pose a sizeable threat to Faarooq's well being......is Nelson FINALLY going to get that payback he's been waiting for?...... .....well.....no...... .....oh he gets the win, no doubt about that.....but certainly not the win he was looking for.....because after a quick assessment of the situation (two against one, Nelson back on his feet) Faarooq decides that it would be perhaps a better idea to live to fight another day.....and as Nelson advances slowly towards him he can audibly be heard saying "screw this", before rolling out of the ring and jogging to the back to join the rest of his defeated team.....the official delivers the mandatory ten count, and this one is all over......Nelson (and Davey Boy) win, but you've got to think that the big man is far from pleased about the fact that again he has not managed to get his hands on the slippery Faarooq......maybe one day Nels.....maybe one day..... Eliminated: Psycho Sid ......Sid is NOT happy about the way he was eliminated here....not at all....and the moment he's informed that he's out of here he throws a Ken Shamrock sized tantrum, rolling to the outside where an oblivious Rich Steiner is making the universal "rub your fingers together" money sign.....he should have paid more attention.....because Sid spins him around, wraps his big hand around his throat.....and Chokeslams him straight through the Spanish Announce Table, leaving Steiner down and broken amongst the debris of the desk.....and then (and only then) does the Psycho one leave...... .....well, the Million Dollar Corporation TECHNICALLY have the one man advantage, but Rich Steiner is good for nothing about now, and the WMDT (Worlds Most Dangerous Team don'tcha know) tries to capitalise on the shocked Jarrett, with Billy Kidman rolling him up quickly from behind.....luckily Canterbury is there to break up the pin attempt, and Jarrett hastily tags out to the former Hog Farmer..... .....Kidman most definitely has the speed advantage here, and he runs rings around Canterbury, catching him with a dropkick to the chin that rocks the man, followed by a second drop kick to the Articulatio Genus as Gorilla Monsoon may call it (that's the knee to you and me)......it drops Canterbury to one knee too.....and Kidman makes a quick tag to Matt Hardy, who keeps up the rapid fire offence.....Canterbury is clearly dazed, and Hardy knows it, tagging back out to Kidman, who heads up top......Billy let's fly with a crossbody from the top, but old Hank is deceptively big and very deceptively strong.....he catches Kidman in mid air, holding him in almost a Powerslam position for a moment, before releasing the youngsters legs (but keeping hold of his head) and drives him to the mat with what WAS called the Slop Drop at one point (I have no idea what he called it when with Southern Justice).....and three seconds later the WMDT are down to two..... Eliminated: Billy Kidman .....Hardy and Shamrock both look to get into the match, but Hardy is the quicker of the two (to Shammy's slight annoyance) and he continues his earlier assault of Canterbury....Hardy has really come on leaps and bounds when you consider that last year he was out here alongside his brother, barely out of jobber status, face painted like a little Legion of Doomer, firmly under the wing of Hawk and Animal.....now look at him, firmly established midcarder with a very impressive European Title reign under his belt....granted it wasn't the longest reign in the world, but he fit as many title defences in that few month period as SOME champions do in a year (I'm looking at you Hollywood Hogan).....he keeps up that good display here too, and manages to take on both members of Southern Justice single handedly.....he whips Knight into the corner, then sidesteps a charging Canterbury, leaving the former H.O.G to crash into the former P.I.G....and with Dennis Knight slumped in the corner, Canterbury staggers backward and collapses to the mat, eventually pulling himself up to all fours.....which makes him the perfect springboard for a Matt Hardy Poetry in Motion on Knight, before dropping Canterbury again with the Twist of Fate......which probably would have been enough for a pinfall......had Jeff Jarrett not stormed the ring behind him and driven his face into the mat with what looked to be a Forward Russian Legsweep Facebuster, before rolling Canterbury on top of him and knocking Shamrock flying off the apron as the referee counts the one, two, three...... Eliminated: Matt Hardy .....oh dear, things don't look good for Ken Shamrock right now....he might be the Worlds Most Dangerous Man, but even he has a limit to the number of men he can take on alone surely..... .....not if you ask Ken....(and don't call me Shirley)....he tears into the ring and charges straight towards Jarrett, who quickly dives off the apron to safety.....Shammy's hotheadedness may end up costing him here, because with his focus solely set on Double J, Dennis Knight is able to blindside him from behind.....the attack is brief however, because Shamrock blocks a strike, takes Knight down to the mat.....and hooks on that Ankle Lock.....and in about five seconds Dennis Knight is furiously tapping in submission..... Eliminated: Dennis Knight ......learning from his past mistakes Shamrock quickly releases the hold and stands to his feet.....just in time to see Mark Canterbury charging towards him.....Shammy sidesteps the charging opponent (who crashes into the turnbuckles chest first and staggers backwards).....Shamrock is waiting with a release German Suplex and then instantly hooks on the Ankle Lock.....and in the space of about a minute, Ken Shamrock has eliminated BOTH members of Southern Justice..... Eliminated: Mark Canterbury .....Jeff Jarrett doesn't look particularly pleased about the prospect of facing Ken Shamrock....but with Southern Justice gone and Rick Steiner still one big splinter on the floor, he doesn't have much choice.....Shamrock on the other hand is practically chomping at the bit at the chance to finally get his hands on Double J....after all, he makes the Champ tap here and he's practically guaranteed a shot at the European Title.... ....the two men have a pretty decent back and forth period (although Shamrock does get the better of it) as they each try to pick up an elimination....neither man is going down without a fight however, and it finally takes a hurricanranna from the former Ultimate Fighter to put Jarrett down.....and once he is down, Shammy wastes no time in slapping on the Ankle Lock..... .....Jarrett is tapping furiously, and this one should rightfully be over.....but the Million Dollar Corporation always has a little bit left in the reserve, and its Ted DiBiase up on the apron (distracting the attention of the official) that saves Jarrett here......well, Ted DiBiase and Rich Steiner.....because with his focus solely on the European Champion, Steiner wearily rolls into the ring and nails Shamrock in the back of the head with the object of his desire, the WWF European Title..... ......Ken goes down like a sack of you know what, while Jarrett drapes himself over the unconscious star, as the referee registers the one, the two, and the three......and just like that Jeff Jarrett and (despite barely featuring in the match) Rich Steiner survive......that's got to put a dent in Shamrocks Championship aspirations. Eliminated: Sean Waltman ......with the 6'6" Test still standing in the ring, all 6'10" of Kevin Nash steps over the top rope, looking to avenge Waltman's elimination, and Test doesn't back down an inch as these two big men come face to face....they have a brief fist fight that culminates in Nash delivering a Big Boot of his own to The Hart's Bodyguard.....Nash grabs Test by his blonde hair and looks to set him into position for the Jackknife, but Chris Jericho puts a stop to that with a Chop Block to the back of Nash's knee..... .......Jericho takes advantage of the fact that Nash has been chopped down to size to show Big Sexy exactly what the Ayatollah of Rock'n'Rolla is all about....and he looks right at home beating up on the former World Wrestling Federation Champion.....he can't quite put him away however, and (despite Scott Steiner reaching his outstretched hand out) Nash makes the tag to the Bad Guy..... ......Hall hits the ring, and the former two time Light Heavyweight Champion battles it out with the five time Intercontinental Champion.....an Intercontinental Championship that must look pretty tempting to Chris Jericho.....much as he did against Nash, Jericho more than holds his own, before Hall catches a Crossbody attempt (tossing Jericho halfway across the ring with a Fallaway Slam) and Jericho tags out to Owen..... .....Scott Hall and Owen Hart had a fantastic match for the Intercontinental Title not so long ago, a match that obviously Scott Hall got the better of......could Owen Hart eliminate Scott Hall here to avenge that loss?.....not yet it would seem.....because (again, despite Scott Stainers outstretched hand) Hall drops Owen with that ChokeSlam/Rock Bottom hybrid, before tagging out to the Big Man......and as Owen gets back to his feet, he's met by the near seven foot Kevin Nash......who drives him down hard with the Jackknife Powerbomb to even up the teams..... Eliminated: Owen Hart .......Test steps back over the rope to go eye to eye with Nash one more time, and after almost getting Powerbombed the last time, it's Test that gets the advantage of this one, driving Nash all the way back into the corner before giving Big Sexy a taste of his own medicine as he jams his own big foot into the throats of Nash, choking the Leader of the 'Pac..... .....Test tags out to The Hitman, who does what he does best, he chops the Giant down to size, before working over the knee on the mat....he drags Nash over to his corner, tagging in Jericho, who looks to be going for that Lionsault, but Nash gets both knees up, and that puts an end to that particular offence.....Nash tags out to Hall (despite an obviously frustrated Scott Steiner being arguably closer) and again, the Intercontinental Champion comes to blows with Chris Jericho..... .....Hall and Nash continue to tag in and out (seemingly "forgetting" that Scott Steiner is also on their team) as they look to get rid of the Harts....Nash comes a hairs width away from pinning Bret before Test breaks up the pinfall, but ultimately it's Test himself that feels Big Sexy's wrath, as he sidesteps a Big Boot attempt....kicks Test in the gut.....and drives him into the mat with a Jackknife Powerbomb...... Eliminated: Test ......that leaves Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and (an extremely fresh) Scott Steiner against Bret Hart and Chris Jericho.....not great odds for the Hart Foundation, but for all Bret's whining as of late, and despite Chris Jericho often hiding behind Test, both of these men are exceptional wrestlers, and while these Philadelphia fans might not like them, there is no arguing the fact that they can beat any given man on any given day.....and on this given day, that given man was Scott Hall.....as Chris Jericho slid out of a Razor's Edge attempt (landing behind the Bad Guy) before rolling the man up hooking the biggest handful of tight known to man, and picking up the one, two, three.....against the WWF Intercontinental Champion....... Eliminated: Scott Hall ......that evens up the sides.....and you've got to assume that elimination by Chris Jericho would give him a future shot at Intercontinental Championship.....although since this is supposed to be the culmination of the Hart/Wolfpac feud then maybe not..... .....Nash steps back over the top rope (much to Scott Steiner annoyance) and Jericho looks to add a former Heavyweight Champions scalp to his elimination collection, and even at this late stage of the match, Chris Jericho's speed is his greatest weapon here, and he really does run rings around Big Sexy, bobbing and weaving, hitting and moving, even giving a little Mohamed Ali shuffle at one point.....then Kevin Nash punches him square in the jaw, and Chris Jericho ain't bobbing or weaving....or moving anymore...... .....he picks the former Light Heavyweight Champion up, and drives him into the mat with a Jackknife for the one, the two, and the three.....before wearily locking eyes with the only man left, Bret Hart...... Eliminated: Chris Jericho .....Scott Steiner is still pacing the apron looking to get into this match.....but Nash and Hart have some history to work through....and while the Wolfpac/Hart Foundation feud may have started back at Wrestlemania XII, the seeds for this war may well have been planted before even that.....two years ago, at this very event.....where Bret "The Hitman" Hart put an end to the year long reign of the then WWF Champion, Diesel..... ......Hart and Nash come together in the middle of the ring, and they begin trading blows right there in the centre.....both of these men have made their Championship aspirations crystal clear, and while the next number one contender will be crowned in our final Survivor Series match later this evening, a win here would certainly put one of these men's name next on the list.....Nash is obviously the stronger of the two, and gets the advantage when it comes to out and out brawling, but Bret Hart has been fighting bigger and stronger men his whole career, and he knows that if he can chop the big man down to size, he can grind out a technical victory..... ......Nash whips Hart hard into the corner, advancing on the "Canadian Hero".....Bret drops down to the mat however and quickly rolls out of the ring, reaching back under the bottom rope to yank the near seven footer off his feet, dragging him backwards to Crotch him in the ringpost.....before bouncing the side of his knee off that unforgiving steel.... .....if Kevin Nash does have a weak spot (an Achilles Heel if you will) then there is no doubt that it is those knees....Bret knows this....and Bret capitalises on this, systematically going to work on the long limbs of Big Sexy.....he kicks, stomps, stretches and wrenches on that leg, until finally he picks those big tree trunks up, wraps them into position, turns Nash over.....and locks in the Sharpshooter...... ......being near seven feet tall however means that Kevin Nash can damn near reach those ropes from anywhere on the mat, and even though the Hitman has the hold locked on tight, Big Sexy finally manages to reach one long arm out and finally break the hold...... .....Bret releases the Sharpshooter before the official reaches the end of the mandatory five count, and in one last ditch effort (after receiving a whip into the turnbuckles of his own) Nash gets one big boot up as the Hitman charges in, and Bret Hart goes down, as Kevin Nash claws his way over to his corner, where a fresh as a daisy Scott Steiner is waiting..... .....Nash makes it to within an arms length of Big a Poppa Pump, and reaches his hand out to make the tag to his partner...... ....just as Scott Steiner hops down off the ring apron.... ....Nash drags himself back to his feet, screaming at Scotty as he demands to know what Steiner is doing.....and Steiner tells him.....raising his right fist and slamming his left arm across it in an 'up yours' gesture, screaming right back at Nash to let him know that he hasn't tagged him in all match, so why should Steiner come running to the rescue now?...... ....he tells Big Sexy that if he wants to win this match all by himself, then go right ahead and try....because Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner, is out of here....... Eliminated: Scott Steiner (?) (Steiner walked out of the match) ....Nash watches Scott leave.....and he doesn't look happy about it.....but then maybe if the Wolfpac had tagged the Genetic Freak into the match to begin with, we might not have this situation that we have now..... ....Scotty parts the curtains and disappears to the back, as Nash slams his own hand on the top of the ringpost in frustration, before turning back to focus on "The Hitman"..... ....who's waiting with a quick small package..... ....and two years after their Survivor Series 95 classic, Bret Hart gets the one, the two.....and the three.....with much the same hold that he won that match with way back then..... Eliminated: Kevin Nash .....to win this match.....and finally put this feud to bed.....moving one step closer to a shot at the World Wrestling Federation Championship in the process. "....maybe you should remember just who writes the checks around here "Dok Hendrix"......I didn't want Al Snow, Chris Candido, Goldust or Marcus because frankly I don't want any freaks holding MY championships.....the New Age Outlaws embody everything that the World Wrestling Federation is all about.....they're loud....brash....confident....and they don't give a damn what you think about them.....and more importantly....they're WINNERS....they don't need to be sullying their hands with freaks and oddballs....now with that being said, why would I want EITHER of those two teams representing the face of the WWF's Tag Team division?....." .....Vince says that Dok Hendrix is right.....he DOES care....he cares that it's not Snow or Candido, Goldust or Marcus......but since it won't be EITHER of those teams, how about this....how about DOK chooses the team.....since he is so concerned, and since he keeps coming in here interrupting the boss's preparation, HE can choose..... Dangerously could only dream of right now...... .....truth be told, had this show been anywhere else in the country the Harris Boys would have probably got a better reaction, but this is Philly baby, and (a good portion of) this crowd certainly know who the Eliminators are judging by the smattering of ECW chants..... .....fatal four rules are in effect here....and so are tag rules, which means only two men can be legal at any given time....and as the match gets underway it looks as though the Champions are going to take full advantage of that by staying as far away from the action as possible, out and out refusing to tag into the match...... <img alt="sycUZi3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sycUZi3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="usOcA2j.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/usOcA2j.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> .....at least until Chris Candido and Al Snow make their way out....and after Candido remarked that he knows more than one way to rustle an Outlaw's feathers, I guess it's time to find out what he means..... .....the duo make their way down to ringside as the Perry Saturn is battling it out with Crush, causing enough of a distraction to the Outlaws that both Gunn and James turn their backs on the action inside the ring......Crush decides that he has had enough of getting kicked in the face by Saturn, and slaps the Road Dogg in the back (legally tagging him into the match) just as Saturn nails Gunn in the back of the head with a dropkick that sends him sailing to the floor..... .....Saturn drags James over the top rope and into the ring (practically by the ears) and sets him up in the middle of the ring as Kronus joins his partner for the......Total Elimination!...... .....and three seconds later, the WWF Tag Team Champions are the first team eliminated.....by the ECW Tag Team Champions......and we are GUARANTEED new Champions here this evening...... Eliminated: The New Age Outlaws ......Billy Gunn looks shocked on the outside.....Sunny looks P!SSED.....and Snow and Candido look delighted as they laugh all the way to the back..... .....Sunny realises that her men just lost the titles, but she's not giving them up without a fight, running over to the timekeepers table and snatching up the belts..... .....fortunately the official sees this and dives to the outside, snatching the gold away from Sunny and placing them on the apron behind him for safe keeping as he attempts to eject the furious blonde from ringside..... .....Billy Gunn never misses an opportunity to be an ass.....and as the official deals with Sunny, he grabs hold of the gold....slides into the ring....and nails Saturn in the back of the head with the belt......Kronus runs to the defence of his partner but Gunn meets him with a kick to the balls that doubles him over....tosses the tag title to the mat.....and drives Kronus' skull into the gold with a Famouser, before dragging his partner to the outside and heading to the back with Sunny..... .....Crush rushes into the ring....covers the unconscious Kronus....and just like that this Fatal Four Way turns into a Terminal Two Way......because the Eliminators are just that.....Eliminated..... Eliminated: The Eliminators .....what?.....you didn't think we were going to put the ECW guys over ALL of our teams did you?.....of course not......and we're down to a traditional two on two contest as Harlem Heat and The Dogs of War rekindle a feud that has only just concluded..... .....obviously this wasn't as chaotic as the last encounter between this pair of teams, a falls count anywhere street fight, which quite literally finished in the street when the Harlem Heat were victorious...... .....since then, Booker T and Stevie Ray have turned their attention to these Tag Team titles, wanting to show the WWF audience exactly why they were such a big deal in the WCW tag team division.....the Dogs of War are certainly no pushovers, but the Harlem Heat have a point to prove.....and they do just that, finally putting away Wrath with the Heat-Seeker for the one, two, three.....and the WWF Tag Team Titles..... Eliminated: Bart Gunn .....and as Marty Jannetty comes flying off the top rope with a crossbody (looking to take the monster by surprise) Kane catches him in mid air, spins him around.......and scrambles his brains with a Tombstone Piledriver, eliminating his second man in as many minutes...... Eliminated: Marty Jannetty .....Savio Vega charges into the ring (as McMahon narrowly avoids Austin on the floor....rounding the corner of the ring quickly......and as Austin follows him, the Enforcer is there waiting with a Spinebuster right there on the outside) and Ric Flair is waiting on the inside, with a series of stinging knife edge chops that rock the Puerto Rican superstar......Flair backs Savio into the corner and his team mates hold Vega in position so that Flair can deliver a series of blows to his skull.... .....Vega fights out of the corner, and reverses a bodyslam attempt by landing behind the Nature Boy, grabbing him in a waist lock and running him into the ropes, before rolling backwards into a pinning combination.....unfortunately Arn Anderson got the blind tag as the Nature Boy hit the ropes, and he climbs into the ring, hooks onto Vega's exposed head....and drives him into the mat with the DDT.....he's gone too..... Eliminated: Savio Vega .....and while Bob Holly gives it a good try, after getting his ass handed to him by his own partner a few weeks back, I don't think his heart is really in it.....and he soon eats the Time Bomb neckbreaker by Pillman.... Eliminated: Bob Holly .....and that just leaves one....Stone Cold Steve Austin.....and it really doesn't look good for the Texas Rattlesnake here..... .....Austin rolls into the ring (still favouring his back from the Spinebuster on the floor) and gives a quick assessment of the situation....before flipping the bird to all five members of the opposing team and charging into their corner.....he nails Flair and Arn with a right hand each that knocks them to the apron, and as Pillman charges him from behind he sidesteps his former partner, who crashes straight into Vince McMahon, sending him flying to the floor.....only Kane is still standing (on the apron) and Austin reaches out, grabs the monsters head, and drops to the mat (using the top rope to perform almost a modified Stunner).....it might be five on one, but Steve Austin is more than holding his own here..... .....Vince isn't happy about this, and he orders the team to strike as one, which is exactly what they do, as Pillman, Flair, Anderson and Kane all hit the ring at once....and while Austin has some initial success in this four against one assault, he's soon beaten down to the mat, and the Corporate Cannons take control of the match..... .....seeing that they pretty much have this one wrapped up, McMahon decides to go back to his roots, joining Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler and Rick Rude on commentary ("what a manoeuvre") leaving his team to beat down the Rattlesnake..... ....he takes a hell of a beating too....his four opponents make quick tags in and out ensuring that each man stays fresh....Rude and McMahon love this, saying it's only a matter of time before they see the next elimination.....they were right too....except is wasn't Stone Cold eliminated, it was the Enforcer.....as Austin catches Anderson with a Stunner pretty much out of nowhere, for the one, two, three..... Eliminated: Arn Anderson .....that's one down....problem is, there's still four to go....and one of them isn't even on the apron, he's sat at the announce desk..... .....the game plan doesn't change....Austin may have eliminated Arn, but he's still pretty beat up, and the three men remaining on the apron simply resume their plan of attack, quick tags in and out.....do the damage, take a breather, rinse, repeat.....it's the repeat part that's the problem though.....because after an extended period of getting his ass whipped, Austin repeats the Stunner out of nowhere, this time on Ric Flair......and the Nature Boy is done..... Eliminated: Ric Flair ....two down....three to go....and while Rude and Vince remain confident of a Corporate Victory, Lawler and Ross' initial scepticism at Austin's chances of survival here diminishes with every elimination.....and when the Rattlesnake pokes a thumb into the eye of the Big Red Monster during a Chokeslam attempt, and follows that up with ANOTHER Stone Cold Stunner , they actually change their pick.....because McMahon's personal problem solver just got eliminated...... Eliminated: Kane .....and that just leaves two..... .....Austin may have his back to the wall here, but there's no mistaking that he's just taken out an Icon, a Legend, and a Monster all by himself......because in all honesty, his "partners" had very little impact in this match..... ....of course there is still the small matter of Brian Pillman....a Pop Culture Icon, Future Legend, and Monster in his own Mind....and he and Austin go wayyyyy back....and not just here in the WWF, because this rivalry has its roots planted all the way back to their WCW days....they've been friends.....(very successful friends with a Unified WCW/NWA Tag Team Championship reign and WWF Tag Team Championship reign between them).....and they've been enemies....and right now, they are certainly enemies...... .....Austin may have taken a beating here, but eliminating Anderson, Flair and Kane in quick succession has revitalised the Rattlesnake, and the prospect of finally getting his hands on an increasingly nervous Vince McMahon has him fighting for all that he has.... ......the former Hollywood Blondes don't hold back as they tear into each other....if we were to discuss "franchise players" then arguably these would be the two top guys in the WWF....Austin has become the number one face in the company, while Pillman has slotted right into the hole that Shawn Michaels left (including pulling out those A rated matches against virtually anyone.....Marty Jannetty and Savio Vega included) it's a damn shame that their chemistry as opponents isn't great, but at this point I'm guessing that their improved popularity (from Wrestlemania XIII) may well mostly cancel that out.....Brian Pillman is a certified lunatic, and gives as good as he gets, but Steve Austin has his eyes on the boss, and after dropping Pillman with a Stunner, that's exactly who he goes for...... ......Pillman is flat on his back and ripe for elimination, but Austin doesn't go for the cover....instead he locks eyes on Vince McMahon on commentary, and smiles a sick smile as he rolls under the bottom rope..... .....McMahon backpeddles a bit here, telling Austin to not do anything hasty, but Stone Cold just flips him the bird....grabs him by the head....and drags him over the announce desk, where he hammers him with right hands, before whipping him into the guardrail, propping him up against the steel, and stomping a good old fashioned mudhole in him..... .....McMahon scrambles away from the angry Rattlesnake, motioning furiously to the back as he does.....clearly Vince has a problem.....and as Kane comes marching back out from his prior elimination, it looks like Austin might have a problem too..... .....the official tells McMahon that if Kane interferes in this match, then he will be forced to disqualify both Pillman and Vince......Vince quickly reminds him who the boss is though, telling him that if he still wants to be gainfully employed tomorrow, he won't be disqualifying anybody..... .....looks like the warning worked too.....because as Austin rolls McMahon into the ring to continue stomping the hell out of him, Kane steps over the top rope and yanks the Rattlesnake off the boss, launching him into the corner..... .....Kane advances on Austin and nails him with some throats thrusts, but Stone Cold is able to spin Kane around, reversing the position so that it's the Big Red Monster propped against the turnbuckles, where he proceeds to kick and stomp the problem solver.....Brian Pillman drags himself back to his feet and charges at Austin, but the Rattlesnake sidesteps that, and the Corporate Cannon collides with his own backup, before getting clotheslined over the top rope by Austin, who follows him out..... .....Pillman receives the same treatment on the outside as McMahon did before him, and the official has obviously decided that if he can't disqualify Pillman or Vince for Kane's interference, then he's certainly not going to count Steve Austin out, because the Rattlesnake is definitely assaulting the Corporate Cannon on the outside for longer than ten seconds....unfortunately for Austin, despite already eliminating the Big Red Monster, Kane is still here, Kane is still a problem, and as he joins in the chaos on the outside, Kane is still a threat.....how much of a threat? A pretty damn big one......because while Austin successfully manages to fight both men off for a period, eventually the odds are too great, and Kane finally wraps his big hand around Stone Cold's throat, lifts him high up into the air........and Chokeslam's him right through the Spanish Announce Table...... .....Jim Ross is appalled at this, stating that Kane has already been eliminated and should not be a factor here....and while that's true, it doesn't stop him from tossing the battered Austin back into the ring, where Brian Pillman drags him to his feet and sends him crashing straight back down with the Time Bomb neckbreaker......he helps Vince McMahon back to a standing position......before draping the Chairman over the downed body of the Rattlesnake for the one, the two........and much to the displeasure of these Philadelphia fans.....the three. They actually start around eight months ago....at Wrestlemania XIII to be precise....because that was the night that Ahmed Johnson turned his back on the WWF fans, but more importantly, that was the night that Ahmed Johnson joined forces with Jim Cornette, costing the Undertaker what was a pretty impressive Wrestlemania winning streak when he interfered in the Deadman's match with Kane.... ......the Undertakers answer to that, was to come back one month later at In Your House, costing Johnson his chance at becoming the European Champion against the (then) title holder The British Bulldog.... ......fast forward from there another month down the line, and the two men finally met inside the ring.....in Tag Team action.....when the Undertaker teamed with former foe Cactus Jack to face the awkward combination of Ahmed Johnson and Goldust.....it was Ahmed Johnson and the Bizarre One that came out victorious that night, but that didn't stop the Undertaker from brutally assaulting his nemesis after the match..... .....that takes us to the King of the Ring....and finally these two men met in singles competition.....in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament no less......but there was more at stake than just the Crown that night, because the winner of the match would be headlining the Summerslam Pay Per View, Challenging for the WWF Title.....once again Ahmed Johnson came out victorious, but not without controversy, because Johnson used his managers ever present tennis racquet to crush the larynx of the Deadman, not only winning the match, but putting the seemingly unstoppable Undertaker on the shelf at the same time..... .....we all know what happened from there.....Ahmed Johnson did indeed go on to Summerslam, where he defeated Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner, making history as he became the first African American WWF Champion in history, and he's been seemingly unstoppable ever since, with manager Jim Cornette christening him "The Walking Armageddon"......Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Kevin Nash....no one could take the title from around the waist of the big man, and just last month, Ahmed defied the odds to defeat both Hart and Nash in the same match, and that was after fighting to PUT Kevin Nash into the match....there aren't many wrestlers who would be actively lobbying for extra challengers.....of course, that victory bought something else.....it bought the Gong......because Ahmed Johnson barely had time to celebrate, before the Undertaker made his grand return after four months away......and here we are..... .....ok, all caught up?....then let's get on with it shall we..... .....honestly, I was really worried about this match main eventing here tonight, I mean, Ahmed Johnson has been in some great matches since he's held the World Title, but his last defence didn't go so well, granted he picked up an injury midway through the match, but that (ongoing) injury coupled with the fact that Ahmed isn't the best of workers at the best of times made me slightly nervous......turns out I shouldn't have worried, because this was easily the best match of the night, and quite honestly NEITHER man disappointed.....The Undertaker carried the workload don't get me wrong (with an A* performance) but considering the fact that he IS carrying an injury, Ahmed didn't do too shabby either (B+ performance from the champ).... .....the two men clashed, in what the announcers played up as a "must win" match for the Undertaker (considering the fact that Ahmed has defeated him at every opportunity to date)...this was never going to be a mat based scientific scuffle now was it....what it was, was a knock down, drag out fight, with the two men trading blows from the onset....Taker gets the better of the initial brawl, but Ahmed catches a breather with a whip to the corner, followed almost immediately with a big clothesline.....Ahmed decides to repeat the sequence, sending his opponent across the ring to the opposite corner, but this time The Deadman gets his boot up on a charging Ahmed, then levels him with a clothesline of his own..... .....the back and forth continues, with neither man really gaining the advantage, until Ahmed sends the Undertaker over the top rope with a clothesline.....Taker lands on his feet however before reaching under the bottom rope to take hold of Ahmed's ankles and yanking him out to the floor....The Deadman drives Johnson kidney first into the ring apron, then delivers a series of jabs to the ribs of the Champion....Ahmed fires back with blows of his own, but Taker finally blocks that and bounces Johnson's head off the ring steps, before rolling him back into the ring..... .....back inside the ring and the Undertaker looks to finish this off as he goes for the tombstone, it's too early though, and Ahmed is able to wiggle out, landing on the mat behind the Deadman, before hitting a chop block to the back of the leg, knocking the Challenger down to one knee, then hitting a big boot to the back of the head..... .....Ahmed takes the opportunity to pose for the crowd (who break out in a “rest in peace” chant) before sauntering around the ring, taunting the Undertaker to get back up to his feet....the Deadman does indeed drag himself back to a standing position, but that boot to the back of the head really rattled his brains, and a stiff right hand from Ahmed puts him straight back down again.... ....Ahmed lands a number of stomps on his opponent before whipping him into the corner again and delivering a series of clubbing forearm blows, the final one of which the Undertaker blocks, before applying the arm wringer and heading up top for what today would be called "Old School".....this is 1997 though so let's just call it "Middle School" for now.....before he can leap off however, Ahmed just yanks his arm (don't ask me why more people didn't do this simple counter, because I don't know) and the Deadman crashes down to the mat once more..... ....Ahmed is really punishing the Deadman now, and Rick Rude proclaims that the Undertaker should have stopped back at the graveyard, because clearly he can't defeat Ahmed Johnson....never has, never will....Ross and Lawler aren't so sure however, proclaiming that the Undertaker has overcome every monster to step foot in the WWF, and he's not finished just yet..... .....Taker begins to fight back, and the two men go back to trading blows, but the Deadman has received the majority of the punishment here tonight, and as the two run the ropes, Ahmed connects with a running axhandle shot right between the eyes that staggers the Deadman, and Ahmed capitalises (and catches a breather) by locking on a bearhug.... .....it takes a while, but the Undertaker finally breaks free, only for Ahmed to grab hold of a side headlock, which the Undertaker manages to reverse into a back suplex....remarkably the Deadman is up first.....he drops an elbow to keep the man down, then heads up to the top rope, and lets loose with an impressive looking flying clothesline...... .....Taker is slow to capitalise, finally going for the cover, but he only gets two.....the Deadman staggers back to his feet and runs a thumb across his throat....it's Tombstone time..... ......the Deadman drags the WWF Champion to his feet, and lifts him up, positioning him for the finishing blow.....he's taken a hell of a beating though, and because of this Ahmed once again manages to wriggle free, landing on his feet behind the Deadman, before spinning the Undertaker around, kicking him in the gut, before driving him into the mat with the Pearl River Plunge......Ahmed is too spent to make the cover though, and instead of going for the pin he lays back, spent on the mat..... .....finally the Champion pulls himself backwards and gets to his feet with the use of the ropes....he looks down at the challenger and smiles, because the Undertaker is done..... .....and that's when the Deadman sits up..... .....Ahmed looks on in shock as the Undertaker gets back to a seated position, and he advances on the challenger, swinging right hands.....Taker finally blacks the blows and wraps his hand around the throats of Johnson.....Ahmed swings wildly and finally pummels his way free......until the Deadman locks his hand back around the Champions throat.....again Ahmed fires right hands, and again it’s broken......Undertaker goes for it again, determined to hit with this Chokeslam, but Ahmed swipes the arm away and hits a back suplex out of nowhere.....unfortunately for him, Taker sits straight up, barely phased.... .....Ahmed looks completely shocked, but it doesn't stop him from charging in with a couple shots......Taker fires right back, and the two men go toe to toe with a series of punches......the Deadman goes for an Irish Whip, which Ahmed reverses.....Taker ducks a clothesline on the return, runs the ropes again and hits the high jumping clothesline...... .....once more the Deadman wraps his hand around the throat of Ahmed....and this time he DOES connect with the Chokeslam.....that just leaves one more thing for him to do.....he drags Ahmed back to his feet...... .....TOMBSTONE..... .....The Deadman crosses the arms as the official drops down to count the cover...... .....One....Two... .....Three.... I'm now intrigued if you could book a long, long elimination based match with 8/10 main eventers and have it get a good rating; But knowing you could probably put those same workers in 4/5 singles matches and get at least a couple of A's out of it, well, why bother? Still, the Survivor matches do tick the variety box - but in booking terms, WCW probably did it better with War Games for a big multi-man match.</div></blockquote> It is a shame, because I always loved the Survivor Series, up until around 97-98 funnily enough, but yeah, there are so many factors to take into account from an in game perspective.....Scott Hall for example wasn’t happy about losing (presumably because Test was in the team) there were a handful of people “used too much” and to be fair, even on the Semi-Main (which scored remarkably well when you compare it to the Wolfpac/Harts match) you had essentially four midcarders and basically a non-wrestler.....it was never going to grade well I suppose......although with that being said, an A for the main event and that B+ for the Austin match had me expecting at least a B+ overall.....nevermind, although this is possibly my lowest rated show since the diary began.

I personally think that 'B" was too harsh of a rating, if we consider the semi and main event.

Really good Series. I feel ya when it comes to the grind of writing these shows, as it took me a bit of time too (and I only did one match in full!) Really enjoyed the segments leading up to the tag title match and the appearance of the Eliminators, even if it made Harlem Heat winning the gold feel a little flat IMO. Maybe we're heading towards a ECW vs WWF feud?
