Editor’s Notes:

There are a lot of WCW 2001 Dynasties kicking around on the boards right now - notably Beejus’ Hate The Game, Briskout’s A Toxic Dose of Savagery, and TFC’s Heart & Soul(forgive me if I forgot anyone). This project will mostly be a mix of TFC’s month by month PPV style and my style found in the GDS Fantasy Draft(located in the Special Dynasties section). This emphasis of this project will be the long term re-branding of WCW, with an eye on the developments of the rest of the wrestling world.

A couple of notes of changes that I made to make my save a little more “realistic” in my mind. First, with Nitro leaving Turner and heading to Fox, I altered some details about the show. While the still developing FX would probably be cool with some original programming to feature on their network, I can’t see them being cool with still running head-to-head shows with the WWF. So, Nitro heads to Wednesday nights, and stays live. I did consider taping in one centralized location, like Bischoff supposedly was gonna do if WCW lived, but I chose against that.

Since Nitro’s reputation was so weak at the time, I reduced Nitro from 2 hours to 1 hour. This is two-fold - keeping “realism” and making it a little easier for me to book quickly. Again, I want this project to focus on the long-term rebuild of WCW, so this lessens the workload for me.

WCW Saturday Night returns as an 1 hour B Show on FX’s sister station Fox Sports Net.

Last detail that’s crossed my mind - there will probably more to come - is that The Big Bang is coming… just not yet. Our next show, and first PPV back, is UNBREAKABLE!

Welcome to the 2001 party!

Scott Steiner - Scott gets the first big title match of the new WCW, which is only fitting as he's the former champion.

Ric Flair - Flair seems to have a storyline going into this, whereas Sting is just along for the ride.

Rick Steiner - He may as well get in at least one solid defense.

NBT - They are good to build the Tag scene around until the time to split them comes up.

Dustin Rhodes - He's a solid face who can win the battle royal and go on to face Rick.

Shane Helms - He seems to be the "new star" for the Cruiser division.

MOTN: Sting vs. Flair

Commissioner: "Mr. Excitement" Johnny Ace!

ECW: RVD seems like the obvious pick here.

Two WCW Icons clashed in this encounter to decide who would face Booker T for the big gold. While Scott Steiner showed why WCW had the confidence to give him the world heavyweight belt in 2000, Kevin Nash struggled to keep up.
Good show, lots of nice little surprises.

Gotta echo the sentiment on Corino, he's a pain to deal with as a freelancer... I usually never sign freelancers but I thought it'd be a good idea, although I'm instantly regretting it as he won't resign at all <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

State of the Locker Room:

Still in good shape - but here’s some highlights:

We’ve had two complaints about booking momentum so far. First, Johnny Stamboli complained about his momentum - and got demoted. The second man was more surprising, as Ric Flair loudly complained. I gave him a win over Sting to quiet him, but it didn’t work.

Bam Bam Bigelow has been sent to rehab. He wrestled wasted in week 2, so I fined him hoping that it would slow him down. It didn’t, as he was even more wasted the next week. Rehab for him.

We’ve had some notable body type changes: First, Booker T got more muscular - good! Second, O’Haire got flabby - bad! Third, Mike Tenay is now listed as average - HOT!

WCW Presents...

http://i.imgur.com/RkMe4bK.jpg

For the WCW World Heavyweight Championship:

Booker T© vs “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner

THE BUILD -

Scott Steiner gets the rematch he’s been waiting for, as he’s main eventing and fighting for the gold! Booker T returned to the ring in early June, defending his gold against Rick Steiner. He seems ready to go! What will happen when these two stars collide!

Grudge Match

Kevin Nash vs “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett

THE BUILD -

Kevin Nash was screwed plain and simple. Jeff Jarrett claimed he did what he did because he is on a quest to remove all of the “dinosaurs” from the old WCW. So far, his mouth has written a large check - and Kevin Nash wants to cash in!

Steel Cage Match:

Sting vs “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair

THE BUILD -

Ric was strutin’ and loving life after taking care of Sting at Uncensored, but new Commissioner Jerry Lawler wasn’t too pleased about it! Jerry knew that Ric had stolen one against The Stinger, so he’s gonna make a rematch in an environment with no rules - a Steel Cage!

For the WCW United States Championship:

Rick Steiner© vs Rey Mysterio

THE BUILD -

Rey Mysterio surprised and won a opportunity at the WCW United States Championship at Unbreakable, and now he’s taking his shot. Everyone, except some folks in the WCW locker room. First, Finlay complained that RVD has done nothing in his career - so RVD proved himself by beating him in his nitro debut. But, Road Warrior Animal isn’t impressed. Will RVD prove he belongs?

For the WCW World Tag Team Championships:

Natural Born Thrillers© vs Totally Buffed

THE BUILD -

Totally Buffed mock the NBT at Unbreakable, and they kept it up in the weeks leading to their title shot. The Thrillers were ready for the challenge before - now they’re plain angry! Will their anger get in the way?

USA vs Canada!

Diamond Dallas Page vs Lance Storm

THE BUILD -

DDP was angry about winning, but losing, his shot at Unbreakable. He wants another one, but Lance Storm tells him to get to the back of the line! Dallas has gotten everything, and Lance Storm has worked hard and gotten no respect for it! They looked to settle their differences on Nitro, but couldn’t stop brawling and couldn’t stay in the ring! This feud seems to be too explosive for a normal singles contest - it’s No DQ!

Rematch for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship:

“Sugar” Shane Helms© vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

THE BUILD -

After Unbreakable, very few of the men in the WCW lockerroom believed that Chavo Guerrero deserved another title shot. Everyone, except for Chavo himself. Chavo petitioned the match at Unbreakable, stating that the Vertebreaker should be banned! With even Jerry Lawler admiiting that the move creates risk for his cruiserweights, Chavo got his rematch - and the Vertebreaker is banned!

Prediction Template:
Booker T© vs Scott Steiner

Comments:

Kevin Nash vs Jeff Jarrett

Comments:

Steel Cage Match: Sting vs Ric Flair

Comments:

Rey Mysterio vs Rick Steiner©

Comments:

Billy Kidman vs Shane Douglas

Comments:

DDP vs Lance Storm

Comments:

RVD vs Road Warrior Animal

Comments:

The Natural Born Thrillers© vs Totally Buffed

Comments:

Dustin Rhodes vs Kanyon

Comments:

“Sugar” Shane Helms© vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Comments:

Bonus Questions:

Match of the Night:

How many titles change hands?:

TWO former ECW talents debut at this show - Who?:

Prediction Template:

Scott Steiner

Booker T - Your title needs some stability. Booker supplies that.
