I don't see you doing anything to help this MOD, so why don't you offer more constructive comments or be patient, instead of constantly pestering and being ungrateful for the hard work that has been put in thus far.

thanks for your work, 5teezus.

Take your time and if you ever think that all this work is just annoying as f*ck and you don't want to continue, just release whatever you got.

I think I said it before in this thread, I know what a sh!tload of work this mod is and I'd totally understand if someone decides that it just isn't worth it anymore. You sure have my respect for keeping this thing going, I'd quit after 5 minutes <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I genuinely enjoy this game, and playing it with a realistic real world database would be best case scenario for me.

The only thing that frustrates me, is people asking for updates, etc, when I've said to look for bugs.
Also, I sent 5teezus what i had updated, which was basically Rizin (almost) fully updated. That was the same file i had sent Deskoft a while ago and after that i went back to my Kickboxing mod (because, honestly, that's what i'm most excited to play). When things get sorted out in the Real World mod again, i'll continue working in the other companies (mostly Japan, Asia and South America; maybe the females too).

Anyway, regarding Deskoft. Last time i spoke with him, he said that his country was getting flooded (don't know where he's from, but a quick google search shows that there are some places in bad condition because of floods). I sent him another message asking if he's coming back, but he hasn't answered yet.

This. Plus my database is bugged right now and I need to get Adam to sort it out for me when I have time. My school just finished up though, so I'll have a lot more time to work on this.

Hey guys, let me start by saying that I've been lurking these forums for 1.5 years right now while I've been playing WMMA4. I love doing UFC simulations and have been doing these non-stop.

That's why I was very happy to see this project getting started. I appreciate all your work and I want to help out a bit by posting my opinions about fighter ratings. It's totally up to you guys what you want to do with it, but I just like making a overview of my thoughts, maybe you guys have a use for some of my thoughts. I watch all UFC fights, I try to watch big fights outside of the UFC too in BAMMA, Bellator, WSOF, Rizin FF, Cage Warriors and EFN, but of course I miss alot of the fights from other organizations, but I think I can form a valid opinion about most UFC fighters.

I'll base my opinions on the fighter's ratings and the results. I love to use Quick Fight to test certain matchups and to compare them with real life results. I'll list everything by division:

Heavyweight:

- Stipe Miocic: Of course we start at the top with Stipe. I think Stipe is pretty underrated. He loses most of the matchups I put him in against top UFC heavyweights. He seems to have a lot of trouble against Werdum and even loses sometimes against Mark Hunt. I think is offense is rated well, but his defense may be improved a little.

- Francis Ngannou: He really got updated and that's a good sign, but I think we're not there fully. When I put him against Struve, you see Struve grapple Ngannou easily everytime around. He also doesn't seem to profit from Struve's terrible striking defense. I think that in real life Ngannou would win this fight 90% of the times, while in the simulation it's around 50% currently.

- Justin Ledet: One of the best prospects in the UFC if you ask me, regardless of weight. Looks pretty mediocre in the simulations overall. He has shown very sharp boxing + head movement and a very interesting ground game so far.

- Mark Godbeer: Gets outclassed by everyone in my HW division, isn't the best fighter in the world of course, but he could use a slight boost.

I think all other HWs are rated adequately. Maybe Struve should have his attributes changed because he doesn't really wrestle that much in real life. Oliynyk is maybe a bit underrated too, but I think he's really hard to rate accurately with his unconventional style.

Light Heavyweight:

Jimi Manuwa: I think he's a little underrated. Not too much. He has shown lately to be an extremely vicious striker, but he doesn't seem to have that much finishing power in my simulations.

Misha Cirkunov: One of the biggest prospects in the LHW division, extremely allround, seems to be decent, but I think he could use a good boost, will fight for the title most definitely in the future.

Shogun Rua: I think Shogun is a little too overpowered. He hasn't looked impressive in a while, looks slow and off. Beat Villante but that's nothing to be proud of.

Jared Cannonier: Underrated if you ask me. Very good standup, mediocre on the ground, like Glover showed. I was very impressed by his fight against Ion Cutelaba. Has good power, nice combinations and seems to be able to stand with anyone. Very patient too, I'd like him to be boosted.

Ed Herman: Ed Herman is on the downfall, but I don't see this reflected in his ratings yet, eats a lot of strikes lately.

Paul Craig: Looked really promising against Luis Frankenstein, of course lost against Tyson Pedro, but he is something else if you ask me. Paul Craig looks pretty allround, with a good BJJ game.

Saparbek Safarov: Is way too overpowered if you ask me, I wasn't impressed at all by his fight against Villante. Showed power and heart, but nothing else. Terrible striking defense.

Bojan Mihajlovic: Not on UFC level, should be downgraded. I actually don't have a clue why and how he got signed.

Other LHWs are good, DC vs. Rumble plays out very similar to the real life fight of past weekend.

Middleweight:

Yoel Romero: I simulated Romero against Bisping a good 20 times already, and Romero hasn't won a single one of those fights. He got knocked out in a good 10 of them. I don't think Bisping is overrated, so the problem lies with Yoel's rating. His freak strength and athleticism isn't present and also his striking defense is on a regional promotion level. Deserves a huge boost if you ask me. His takedown defense may be downgraded a bit, it's actually a bit worse than you might think an Olympic wrestler has.

Gegard Mousasi: I'm a huge Mousasi fan, so I might be a bit subjective, but I think he's pretty underrated. If you saw how he boxed up Weidman, he's been on a tear lately, not the best takedown defense, but his boxing looks amazing as of late. Jab is extremely quick and damaging. Weidman got hurt by his jab and Thales Leites too.

Chris Weidman: Seems to get worse every fight, his takedowns are still really good, but that's basically it. Sad to see.

Robert Whittaker: Has been on a tear lately, and deserves a boost. I simulated him against Belfort, and Belfort knocks him out every single time, seems very unrealistic.

Hector Lombard: Should be nerfed massively. Has maybe the best stats in the whole division, crazy to me. Hasn't looked great in years. Terrible cardio, almost no striking defense and his freak power seems to flow away as well.

Krzysztof Jotko: Should get a massive boost. KO'd Tamdan McCrory viciously, beat Thales Leites (Bisping won a very close decision against Leites), but is rated like a fighter that would be cut in a few fights. Very curious to see his fight against David Branch soon, who in my eyes is one of the best MWs in the world.

Thiago Santos: Extremely inconsistent, but has massive knockout power and fantastic kicks. Should be rated like a glass cannon or something, maybe like Uriah Hall?

Daniel Kelly: Biggest feel good story in the UFC. Always seems to be the underdog, but pulls off one upset after another. I think he deserves a boost.

C.B. Dollaway: Has looked very mediocre recently, is still rated like a top 10 fighter or something, deserves a good downgrade.

Gerald Meerschaert: Can't do anything at all in my simulations, while I thought he looked very good in his 2 UFC fights so far. Very slick jiu jitsu.

Georges St. Pierre: Is a middleweight now? Well, I think he needs a massive downgrade based on his last fight with Hendricks and because of his layoff. Although it's hard to really rate until he will fight.

Welterweight:

Tyron Woodley: Props on you guys, he looks perfectly rated. He was very mediocre in the MW updates, but he looks like the real life Woodley now.

Donald Cerrone: Waaay overpowered. Put him against Masvidal a bunch of times. Cerrone won everytime, which is crazy because Masvidal dominated him standing. Wasn't even close. He was very dominant against other fighters too, like against Lawler, especially his standup needs a nerf.

Jorge Masvidal: Speaking about Masvidal, he put it really together. Earns a boost based on his matchup against Maia coming up and his top 5 ranking.

Lorenz Larkin: Might've gone to Bellator now, but still needs a boost based on his absolute decimation of Magny. His kicks are one of the deadliest I've seen in the UFC in years.

Emil Meek: Looked surprisingly good against Mein, deserves a boost because his ratings are pretty mediocre in the game, loses against most prelim guys.

Alan Jouban: Not the best striking defense, but has a lot of tools, which do not seem to be present in his ratings. Could use a boost to his diverse striking arsenal.

Also there seem to be a lot of guys who haven't fought for years who still have their ratings like it's 2012. John Hathaway and Yoshihiro Akiyama as the biggest examples. Hathaway always seems to grow into a contender for some weird reason.

Lightweight: Lightweight seems to look pretty good overall. Most top fighters win fights they should win and look good while doing so.

I'm not sure yet if Michael Johnson is upgraded yet, but he always was pretty mediocre. The same can be said about Barboza and Chiesa.

Matt Wiman is a top 15 fighter in my game, seems to be a little too much as well.

Featherweight:

Jose Aldo: Seems almost unbeatable. Finishes way too much and has like no weaknesses, I think he will have his work cut out for him against Holloway, but we'll need to see how that plays out first. I think his finishing instinct can be removed partially. He hasn't finished someone since the Korean Zombie injury or the knee against Mendes.

Frankie Edgar: Should be nerfed defensively, got rocked even by Stephens. I think someone like Yair should have at least a realistic chance to knock him out in a simulation, but he seems to have no chance against him.

Chan Sung Jung: Looked amazing against Bermudez, vicious knockout. His ratings are pretty bad though if you ask me, he loses most of his fights against ranked opponents.

Dennis Bermudez: Not the best fighter at all, but looks to be very underrated, has a decent skillset and should be able to beat all unranked fighters most of the times.

Bantamweight:

Looks pretty decent, think everything's pretty accurate here.

I don't know a lot about Flyweight and the women's divisions, I only think that Alexa Grasso and Germaine de Randamie deserve higher ratings based on their last few fights.

So yeah, this is a pretty extensive list, see what you guys do with it, but I just wanted to make it.

When it's out I don't mind testing all kinds of matchups to make some further suggestions and to see if everything is alright. If I need to test certain things or matchups, or even fighters please let me know. I'm appreciating all the work you guys put into this!

And I believe I've actually said, on multiple occasions, that your work is appreciated. When nothing is posted for over 3 weeks what are people supposed to speculate? ...

@TheLoveShake

As I've said above, I've been nothing but supportive. Is asking for an update on proceedings regarded as counterproductive in your world? Seems odd, but whatever floats your boat, matey. Also, I've actually been working on two new promotions for this update that I've kept on the down low. UWC from the UK and Desert Force Championships, the largest MMA promotion in the Middle-East. But I suppose that's counterproductive.

You guys should think about what you're typing before you click Submit. Are sarccy comments really needed, @5teezus? I vote no, personally

Just reporting in to show my appreciation for this. I've always shunned real world mods, but with a continued effort like this that might be over. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Keep in mind that you don't have to update every fighter's stats every time, just when their performance is in-congruent with the existing stats where the result irl would be in impossible feat in-game.

You've posted two sarccy comments for no reason what so ever. You've completely misunderstood me, I assumed this was no longer being worked on. Previous modders have attempted and pulled out in the past. What was I supposed to think? I was itching for at least a reply because having worked on two new promotions promotions on my ones, which has taken up a large amount of time, it'd have been incredibly annoying if this was abandoned.

Alright, time for some more thoughts I stumbled apon:

Need an upgrade:

- Robert Whittaker: Probably has been upgraded already, but damn. He really proved himself against Jacaré. Very good TDD and surprisingly good ground escape. Best hands in the division after Mousasi. Relies more on power, speed and versatility than on pure striking technique though. Should be able to beat almost anyone at MW.

- Tom DuQuesnoy: Not signed to UFC yet in previous update, has already a good rating, but needs to be upgraded in such a way that he will be able to KO a lot of BW fighters very soon in his career. Has the best elbows in the division already.

- Santiago Ponzinibbio: Has been looking really good as of late. Absolutely tore up McGee, Cummings and Taleb. Especially Taleb looked like a bloody mess afterwards. One of the best kickboxing skillsets in the division. Top 15 rated officially by UFC.

- Leon Edwards: Has shown a very complete MMA arsenal as of late. Was overpowered by Usman which is nothing weird, but had two great wins against deadly KO machine Vicente Luque and against Tumenov.

- Cowboy Oliveira: Two very impressive wins against Brooks and Tim Means. Seems to really get into his own. Looked like a one trick pony not too long ago, but looks pretty complete right now.

- Neil Magny: Pretty complete, good in all aspects, but not really good in any aspect at all. Has an amazing chin and a lot of heart though. Looks to be a bit underrated. Not too much power but has good striking technique.

Need an downgrade:

- Renan Barao: Doesn't have champion-like ratings anymore, but needs a big downgrade. Hasn't looked like himself since the first loss to Dillashaw. Lost to Stephens in a very disappointing fight and even lost a round to Nover who has recently been cut. I'm not sure if he can beat any Top 15 guys at this point anymore.

- Mike Pyle: Is rated top 15 in my game. Way too high of course, still a decent fighter, but has showed that he's nothing more than that. Shouldn't have a chance against Top 30 WWs I believe.

- Nate Marquardt: Still has a lot of KO power which he showed against Dollaway and McCrory, but doesn't have anything else really anymore. Looked really done in his last fight against Alvey, but still hard to predict. I don't think he's really done yet, but he needs a downgrade.

- Joshua Burkman: No clue why he isn't cut yet. Can't seem to win against anyone but a terrible looking KJ Noons. Lost 6 out of his last 7.

- Brandon Thatch: Should receive a massive downgrade. Pretty good standing, but terrible TDD and zero grappling skills. I think he has been cut by the UFC too.

- Albert Tumenov: Same story as Thatch, zero ground game, while his standing game is really good. Not in the UFC anymore I think.

Also I said last time that LW looks pretty good but I do not think after taking a look at my LW rankings right now. Most of these guys have fought once since I started a game.

<img alt="13b3888ae27c873ea98cc54db176e1d7.png" data-src="https://i.gyazo.com/13b3888ae27c873ea98cc54db176e1d7.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Of course these rankings don't tell the whole story, but they are still pretty weird looking. Joe Lauzon top 5 for example? I also think Kevin Lee, Trinaldo, Magomedov and Makhachev should be ranked here.

You'll notice the changes made in the next update, which will come before UFC 211. As for the rankings go it's hard to get them as accurate as real, but I agree, they need to be changed, with fighters like Wiman, Tibau, and Maynard in the top 20.

i want to see this succeed and I'm willing to contribute. i have extensive knowledge in MMA (in competition, training and fandom) and know this game inside and out. let me know if there's something that needs to be worked on and I can gladly assist. this project will be a game changer for WMMA4 and I'd love to help!

Probably not in time for the next update, but Thiago Tavares needs a big nerf. He's a top 10 fighter in my FW division which is a bit too much. I mean he is far from terrible but he should lose to all top 15 FWs. Next to that, he doesn't have a UFC contract anymore. He fought for Aspera FC recently.

Could also do with a PM before the upload if you'd like me to add Desert Force to it, the other promotion I'm working on isn't finished but Desert Force MMA is finished.

It's better if you imported everything you did onto an empty database, then sent it my way, then I can import it all into my database. If you send me a list of everything you did, I'll put it in the changelog too.

Snakeman I sent you an PM, and Kerft, I'm going to drop the update the week of UFC 211, so you still got time to send me some stuff. After the first update, I hope to do a monthly update. Which I feel is reasonable enough for the amount of work that needs to be done.
