Underrated C-Verse wrestlers

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I thought it could be fun to see what TEW wrestlers some of us particularly like, but don't see mentioned in the forums that often and don't seem to get the recognition they deserve. I'll start with one of mine-

American Elemental II- I think he gets overlooked because he isn't available at the start of the game (he debuts May 2017), but for a small, perf>pop fed, he's just about everything you could ask for. He's a rock solid performer from day one, and he's cheap. I grab him at the first opportunity every game I play.

How about you guys- any wrestlers you think deserve more credit than they're currently getting?

Eric Eisen.

People get too involved in the lore of the game, and I imagine many people just push him down the card because the story of the game was that he was an undeserving champion. Eisen is actually pretty good worker, and can turn into a great worker if you stick with him.

Here's the first few guys I have on a SWF list for possible hires and dev prospects to look at.

Ant-Man - Although he's not quite at his peak yet, Ant-Man actually has a very solid base in his skill set as a wrestler and an entertainer. With decent SQ and solid ent skills, he actually one of the more well rounded products down in RIPW for SWF to bring up.

Antonio Del Veccio - Underrated since about 2005, he's a talented worker who falls behind on his ent and SQ. His in ring work is really good as he can work in any style and his only "poor" perf stat is his selling. Although at 31 he won't improve by a huge amount, you certainly could get his selling to a respectable level to go with the rest of his great stats.

Austin Smooth - I've never seen him outside of regional promotions, Smooth is a really, really good technician with a great base to become a very talented worker. His lack of ent skills and SQ will probably hold him back somewhat but seems that he''s so young, he could easily be built to be a very, very good prospect.

Bobby Thomas - I always thought Bobby was a good talent despite his association to Nate Johnson and being the "less talented" specialist. Although that maybe true, Bobby has main event level in ring skills with his ent skills being the only thing that holds him back. Sure he's in his late thirties in the game and his usefulness is based on whether he's on TD or not but he's somebody I never see get mentioned as a top talent in the C-Verse.

Busta Capp - Capp is GSW's top draw for a reason, he's a great brawler with good basics and consistency but needs a little work admittedly. He can get his perf skills up but even with those at that level he still has the top row skills to counter act that. He can get an okay promo without any significant development and his SQ is pretty decent to be a solid midcard presence.

Cal Sanders - A guy who is never mentioned as somebody to hire, he's a solid technical wrestler who can put in a good match against weaker opposition. He'll never be a star by any means but certainly has the ability to get to a gatekeeper midcard role and will always be willing to put younger talent over.

Cali Slick - Slick can be a main eventer at the cult level, he has the talent and SQ. Although his ent skills are meh at best, the rest of his game is so polished that with minimal effort you could make him into a solid promo and push him to the top. It's so odd that I've never seen him get much recognition.

Zeus Maxmillion - Great wrestler, a veteran, not injury prone, and has a good personality. Easy to sign since Cult CGC has him on a PPA

Bulldozer Brandon Smith - Basically the C-Verse's version of Stan Hansen, so if you're playing as a Puro fed and you haven't signed him yet then what are you doing?

Eddie Peak - Who needs Marat Khoklov when you can just push Eddie to the moon instead? You'll get better match ratings while doing it, too.

I really like Hell's Bouncer in terms of bringing in a monster. Fine enough bell to bell, love his menace. Not a black hole of charisma either.

Three MAW guys I also really like. The Dynamite Express(Syd Collier and Cameron Jones) are a really good tag team and can be pretty decent individually too(though I often find I have more luck with Syd in those singles outings usually) and I also really like The Architect because he often can turn into a good promo guy to compliment his decent technical ability.

One of my under the radar favorites is El Sultan. He starts with better than average top row skills and decent charisma. He's relatively young. And he's a great athlete--so there's a good chance that with a bit of work on performance skills he can develop into an extremely strong in-ring worker. And he comes pre-packaged with an awesome throwback gimmick that lends itself to a variety of fun storylines and can work as absurdist comedy (how did a Brazilian dude become a Middle Eastern oil sheik, and what is he now hoping to accomplish in the world of Mexican pro wrestling?) as well as as a straightforward evil foreigner.

As he's available in the US, I often bring him in as the centerpiece of a foreign stable with the story being that he's used his massive oil wealth to finance the assembly of a cabal of elite wrestlers from all over the world who are now out to execute some nefarious scheme with global implications (or just to prove the superiority of their own cultures). He can be a top a guy right away in most small companies, and with a bit of popularity he can fit right in to the midcard of larger sports entertainment companies.

I think his canon history is perfect for a top tier heel. He's only champion because of his last night. It's wonderful and easy to book around. He's arrogant for no reason at all, he thinks he's better than everyone etc. in terms of the in ring stuff you're spot on. I've had a save where he could pull high 80s consistently and even a few 90s depending on the opponent. I love me some Eric Eisen.

All of the Stars of RAW in Australia. Those guys if you can get them over in the states with an international company are legends in the making.

Rahmel Goode - A* star quality, A* Menace, high charisma

Captain Wrestling II - Can work and has A* SQ and A* Charisma

Swoop McCarthy - A* SQ and A* Charisma

I could see them getting nerfed in future games but right now they are ridiculously highly skilled.

Loxley Robbins, Quiz Master, Quizzical Mark Question, Echo.

Basically 3 years into the game RAW puts on consistent A matches on their shows thanks to these guys.

I usually play the areas that don't get much love like Aussie and Euro. I'm gonna list names and promotions if I remember. I'll also name a few from NA and I'll keep this list short or it'd be too many.

I have a 44yr old Thomas Morgan as my world champion of my little promotion <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

In the 2016 database - Unemployed Only

Males

Conner Threepwood - Great technical skill, good basics, decent psychology. Useful for small promotions, his low SQ will hurt though.

Raphael - Decent technical skill, average SQ, solid overall. Good midcard guy with upside.

Marc DuBois - A favorite of mine, actually. Has some issues and is on hiatus but hes great to have if you can get him clean.

Chess Maniac - Another favorite, great skills overall, with 75 SQ. 31 years old. Unemployed! Crazy, right?

Females

Emma Bitch - Decent overall. Nothing spectacular but I always sign her, so.

Eri Sato - A favorite female of mine. I use her whenever I can.

Deborah Young - Beth Phoenix of CVerse!

Ginko Kuroda - I really like her, a lot. I wish she was younger in CV2016. Oh well.

I might have considered making him champ despite that in previous versions, but now that SQ has such a huge effect and with USPW and SOTBPW always breathing down my neck I can't justify it. The only way he gets it now is if he gets lucky on a brand split save and one of my shows is weaker.

Boo Smithson - abysmal star qualilty, so he'll probably never be a champion in my national NOTBPW, but his in-ring performance is main-event calibre.

Jared Johnson - is on the NOTBPW starting roster and turned into an excellent worker, as well. Already puts out B and B+ performances as an upper midcarder. His star quality isn't terrible, either.

Sayeed Ali - hired him as the third men for a stable of him and Brown & Haynes. His popularity is still really low, but B- in-ring performances are the worst I have seen from him. So, he's a future main eventer, for sure.

Owen Love - Underrated might not be the right term in his case as he's already main eventing a national company at the start of the game and he's on the wrong side of 40 already. But he's performing really, really well in my game, churning out A performances on a regular basis. He's not in time decline yet in my game and once I split him from The Natural, who is an atrocious wrestler, he'll have a run with the NOTBPW Canadian title, that's for sure.
