Lust would destroy him in a technical match but since he's the sort of guy to bring a barbed wire covered bat or a light tube to the ring I wouldn't expect any technical masterclass matches out of him. Will just has that subversive sense of humour about things and that's very appealing. Wrestling should be fun and camp and kind of stupid - the moment you take the thing too seriously you become Jim Cornette yelling about how the kids today need to keep off his lawn with their flippity floppiting. He actually ranted about Foley taking one of Joey Ryan's dick moves the other day and he was saying stuff like Rock and Football and all these other things have gone up and are more popular and are drawing more now but that everyone in wrestling is drawing less now than they were 30 years ago (adjusted for inflation). Now by any metrics Wrestling draws less as does most anything else - there are a ton more entertainment options now and everything has had to adjust TV ratings are spread out thanks to pay tv etc etc. Cornette remains me of those stereotypical characters spruiking about how "Things were so much better when I was a lad". As far as his rants about story cohesion he is spot on but he is also one of those guys who should never hold a book in this day in age. A consultant role he would do great things but he is too old school to reel in a mainstream audience. As far as TV Ratings go not everyone "including myself" has cable TV and that is true with a lot of millennials. Most of us have to work jobs and our bosses don't want to give us every Monday and Tuesday off with every other Sunday to go with it. Cornette is a foul mouthed blowhard that is right about a few things and wrong about a lot more. His delivery is just bad, he has no idea how to communicate with other adults, which is sad.
