With Rey down, Jindrak and Stasiak are free to double team Konnan, but "K-Dawg" doesn't go down without a fight and the match ultimately ends with a disqualification when Mike Sanders decides to blast Konnan from behind to put an end to his comeback attempt.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Konnan and Rey Misterio Jr. defeated Shawn Stasiak and Mark Jindrak at 9.29 by disqualification when Mike Sanders attacked Konnan (C+)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The match is over but Mike Sanders continues his attack on Konnan, along with Jindrak and Stasiak. Tony officially welcomes everyone to Nitro and hypes up the fact that in just six days, this Sunday night, World Championship Wrestling will be bringing everyone their first pay per view of 2002; WCW Sin! The announcers briefly talk about the four way dance main event for the World Heavyweight Championship, and then they turn their focus to tonight's show--and more specifically tonight's main event where all four men who will compete for the World Title at Sin will be in action as Sting, Booker T and Ric Flair will face Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash. Mike Tenay points out that Flair and Nash won't compete for the World Championship, but they will face off at Sin as well and both men will no doubt be looking to one-up each other tonight. Gene asks O'Haire and Palumbo about having to defend their titles tonight, and potentially again this Sunday at Sin if they win tonight. O'Haire says that they had a long road back to the Tag Team Titles and now that they finally have them again, they're not letting go of them any time soon; not tonight, not this Sunday, not ever! Palumbo adds that they are better right now than they have ever been, and they proved that Starrcade. Palumbo says that they'll beat KroniK tonight, just like they'll beat Totally Buff at Sin, and just like they'll beat anyone who steps up to challenge them for the titles. Kanyon and Awesome still appear to be feeling the effects of their meeting with Sandman's singapore cane earlier, so it is Stacy who does the talking here, saying that Sandman is the perfect partner for Bigelow because they have so much in common; they are both thugs. They are both brutes. But most importantly; neither of them come anywhere close to being in the same league as Chris Kanyon and Mike Awesome, and Bigelow and Sandman will learn exactly that this Sunday at Sin! But after what they did tonight...Kanyon and Awesome are going to make sure that Bigelow and Sandman learn their lesson in the hardest way possible. As Stacy and her two wounded clients walk off, Gene sends us back to the ring for more in-ring action. <strong>(C-)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="LDtzXls.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LDtzXls.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />vs.<img alt="e0KbmYl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/e0KbmYl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> This match is part comedy, part serious, depending on who is in control. Norman Smiley's antics seem to be getting under the skin of the "Dog-faced" Gremlin, which almost works in Smiley's favor as he is able to catch Steiner with a surprise roll-up, but Rick is just barely able to kick out in time. Smiley then goes for the "Big Wiggle", but that proves to be his undoing as it only serves to piss Rick off even more. A few Steinerlines and a pair of suplexes later, Rick hits the Steiner Driver on Smiley and picks up the one-two-three in a solid match.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Rick Steiner defeated Norman Smiley at 5.37 by pinfall with a Steiner Driver (C+)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> We swing by the announce table once again where Tony Schiavone informs everyone that the main event is coming up next; Sting, Booker T and Ric Flair versus Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash. The trio hype up the main event, and Sin, a little more, and then it's back down to the ring for our main event of the evening. <strong>(B+)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="7PSSM69.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7PSSM69.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="O6ChwMw.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/O6ChwMw.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="zah6nFe.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zah6nFe.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />vs.<img alt="9umPviH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/9umPviH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YiAV5xv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YiAV5xv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="aiJ3oYx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/aiJ3oYx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />w/<img alt="ijZDMft.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ijZDMft.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Six of the biggest stars in the business today go at it here and the crowd is fully engaged from the get-go and they are firmly behind the team of Sting, Booker and Flair. Booker T and Jeff Jarrett start things off, but when Ric Flair tags in, he demands that Nash tag in as well. "Big Sexy" does so, steps over the ropes, spits in his hands and rubs them together, seemingly ready to lock up with "The Nature Boy"...and then he tags in Scott Steiner, much to Flair's frustration. Not one to back down from any challenge, Flair locks up with Steiner instead and "Big Poppa Pump" overpowers Flair, and Flair is in a world of trouble for the next several minutes as the heels wear him down. Flair tries to mount two comebacks, but the third time is finally the charm as he manages to make the hot tag to the World Champion, and Sting comes in and starts cleaning house, hitting clotheslines and dropkicks both left and right. Sting even hits the Scorpion Deathdrop on Kevin Nash, but Scott Steiner then nails Sting from behind with a clubbing blow to halt the Champion's momentum. The pattern repeats itself one more time as the heels isolate Sting, but Sting eventually makes the hot tag to Booker T, and now it's Booker's time to shine as he starts cleaning house! Things finally break down completely and the action is happening all over the place, both in and out of the ring.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="e0KbmYl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/e0KbmYl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> "The Dog-faced Gremlin" Rick Steiner makes his way down to ringside and takes out Flair with a steel chair to the back, which the referee never sees as he is busy elsewhere. Sting and Kevin Nash are brawling outside the ring and suddenly Booker T finds himself alone in the ring with both Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner. For reasons only a WCW referee knows, the referee decides to leave the ring to attempt to separate Sting and Nash, which gives Jarrett the perfect opportunity to grab his Acoustic Equalizer from under the ring. Jarrett smashes the guitar over Booker T's head, and then Booker staggers right into a Steiner Flatliner from "Big Poppa Pump"! Steiner goes to cover Booker just as the referee returns to the ring, but Jarrett surprises Steiner by grabbing him from behind and throwing him through the ropes! Jarrett then quickly covers Booker and one-two-three! "The Chosen One" picks up the win just six days before Sin!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash defeated Booker T, Sting and Ric Flair at 14.40 by pinfall when Jarrett pinned Booker after a Guitar Shot/Steiner Flatliner combo (A)</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Having picked up the win, Jarrett quickly escapes the ring and retreats back up the ramp, knowing full well that he just made one hell of an enemy of Scott Steiner. Page's stalling tactics are successful as he manages to lure Rey into making a mistake as he chases Page around the ring. Page slides into the ring and when Rey follows, Page is all over him. Rey takes quite a beating over the next several minutes as Page focuses on hitting high-impact moves, including a devastating gutwrench gutbuster that drives all of the air out of Misterio's lungs. Mike Tenay calls it sound strategy on the part of DDP as keeping Misterio grounded takes away a lot of the challenger's offense. DDP's control eventually leads to overconfidence, and when the Champion takes a bit too much time to argue with a couple of fans at ringside, Rey is able to take advantage and he unleashes a flurry of kicks to the back of DDP's left leg. Rey then quickens the pace, keeping the Champion off balance with a series of armdrags, headscissors and finally a tornado DDT that gets the challenger a two count. Page tries to buy himself some time by rolling out of the ring, but Rey launches himself over the top rope and hits a diving crossbody, much to the delight of the fans. Rey rolls Page back into the ring, but again Page kicks out after two. Rey's momentum is brought to a halt when DDP jams a thumb in Rey's eye, earning him a warning from the referee, but Page looks like he couldn't care less. Page whips Rey into the ropes and sets up for a big move, but Rey counters into another tornado DDT! Sensing his moment is at hand, Rey positions himself on the apron, waiting for Page to get back to his feet. Page slowly does so, and when he turns around, Rey leaps, looking for the Springboard Hurricanrana...but Page is able to catch him out of the air with a Diamond Cutter! Page then covers Rey and...1...2...3!</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Diamond Dallas Page defeated Rey Misterio Jr. at 15:11 by pinfall with a Diamond Cutter (B)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Hardcore Match</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="waG19mm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/waG19mm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Gc4aCsx.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Gc4aCsx.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />w/<img alt="dNLwm1L.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dNLwm1L.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />vs.<img alt="lPwVnNo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lPwVnNo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="s1tPIbO.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/s1tPIbO.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Tony Schiavone tries to explain the rules before ths one gets underway, but before he gets halfway thorough we already have all four men going at it in the ring, with the Sandman dishing out the punishment with his Singapore cane as Tony does manage to get the point across that this match will be fought under tornado styles rules, meaning there will be no tags in and out. Bam Bam Bigelow gets some well-deserved payback on Chris Kanyon as he first beats Kanyon with a trashcan, then places the can over Kanyon's head, only for the Sandman to beat on the side of the trashcan with his Singapore cane, ringing Kanyon's bell in the process. The match spills out of the ring as well and both tables, chairs, trashcan lids and even a steel chain are all used as weapons during this brutal brawl. In the end it is Stacy Keibler who becomes a deciding factor as she saves Mike Awesome from being put through a table by the Sandman by hitting a low blow on Sandman, and then Awesome puts Sandman through the table with an Awesome Bomb! Awesome then enters the ring and attacks Bam Bam Bigelow from behind, and then Awesome and Kanyon beat Bigelow down until Stacy slides a steel chair into the ring. Mike Awesome slams the chair across the back of Bigelow and then puts the chair on the floor of the ring, allowing Kanyon to hit the Kanyon Kutter on Bigelow onto the steel chair! Kanyon then covers Bigelow and this one is over as the referee counts the one-two-three.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Chris Kanyon and Mike Awesome defeated Bam Bam Bigelow and the Sandman at 11:24 by pinfall when Kanyon pinned Bigelow following a Kanyon Kutter onto a steel chair (C-)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="Z1DlA0N.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Z1DlA0N.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="YiAV5xv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YiAV5xv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Following that brutal hardcore tag team match we cut backstage where "Mean" Gene Okerlund is standing by with "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash, who Gene notes will be facing "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair later tonight here at Sin. Gene asks Nash about the match, and Nash says that the only thing he cares about is getting back to the World Title, and right now Flair has made the mistake of positioning himself between "Big Sexy" and his goal, which is always the last place you want to be. "The Professor" Mike Tenay notes that Storm in one of the greatest technical wrestlers in the world today, while Dustin Rhodes has every bit as much heart, desire and determination as his father, Dusty Rhodes, which is saying a lot. The match goes back and forth throughout, with Storm trying to remain in control by using various submission holds, all of which are focused on the legs of Rhodes, no doubt in preparation for the Canadian Maple Leaf, while Dustin tries to turn the match into a brawl at every opportunity, which is exactly what he should be doing according to Mike Tenay. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan notes that it doesn't matter what Dustin Rhodes tries here tonight, the fact remains that Eric Bischoff himself pointed out Lance Storm as the star of the future and the boss is never wrong--again, according to "The Brain". Bobby Heenan is nearly proven wrong a few moments later when Rhodes catches Storm with a snap powerslam, but Storm kicks out at two-and-a-half. Rhodes continues to work Storm over and then he goes for a running bulldog, but Storm is able to shove Rhodes into the ropes and then he nails a picture perfect superkick, which scores Storm a near-fall. Storm hits a bridging german suplex for a two count, and then a northern light suplex for another two count. Frustration beginning to build, Storm takes to arguing with the referee, accusing him of a deliberate slow count. Storm continues to argue with the referee a few seconds more, then turns his focus back to Dustin Rhodes...who surprises Storm with an inside cradle and Storm only just kicks out in time. Rhodes unloads on Storm with a series of right hand punches, a pair of clotheslines, an inverted atomic drop and finally a belly to back suplex! Rhodes covers, but Storm kicks out after two. Rhodes quickly pulls Storm back to his feet and sends him into the ropes...but Storm slides through Rhodes's legs, grabbing his leg in the process in a fluid motion, and just like that Rhodes is caught in the Canadian Maple Leaf! Rhodes fights it with everything he's got, desperately trying to claw his way to the ropes. He almost gets there, but then Storm drags him back to the center of the ring and applies even more pressure on the submission hold. With nowhere left to go, Rhodes has no choice left but to submit.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Lance Storm defeated Dustin Rhodes at 17:26 by submission with the Canadian Maple Leaf (C+)</strong> </p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW Tag Team Championships</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="OQcwFPp.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OQcwFPp.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="rxMZSbm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rxMZSbm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="1S9VfKR.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1S9VfKR.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />vs.<img alt="epiwJ9r.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/epiwJ9r.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="tjPJopW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tjPJopW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The Tag Team Championships are on the line next as Totally Buff look to reclaim the titles they lost at Starrcade. The match starts off with a lot of stalling from Luger and Bagwell, which worked well for them when they were Champions, but as Tony Schiavone points out, if Luger or Bagwell get counted out tonight they won't walk out of here with the titles, so their tactic of stalling won't be as effective tonight. Once the match finally does get under way, it is the Champions who take control, literally beating Luger and Bagwell back out of the ring. The challengers finally find a way into the match when "The Total Package" gets a cheap shot in from behind on Chuck Palumbo, allowing "Buff Daddy" to take control of the match. Luger and Bagwell maintain control for the next several minutes, showing everyone why they are former two-time Tag Team Champions as they expertly isolate Chuck Palumbo from his partner and wear him down. As the crowd rally behind him, Palumbo tries to fight his way back into the match, driving his elbow repeatedly into the midsection of Buff Bagwell and then dropping him with a huge discus clothesline. As they do so, Lex Luger tries to enter the ring without making the tag, drawing the attention of the referee. While the referee is busy with "The Total Package", Adams and Clark pull Sean O'Haire off the apron and drive him back-first into the guard rail, and then they hit their High Times double chokeslam finisher on O'Haire on the floor outside the ring! Tony and Mike are both outraged at this, and as Adams and Clark retreat back up the ramp, Luger calmly leaves the ring only to make an official tag. Then, with O'Haire down and out outside the ring, a weakened Chuck Palumbo is easy pickings for Totally Buff and Luger gets Palumbo up in the Torture Rack! Palumbo fights bravely, but nobody can withstand the Rack for long and neither can Palumbo, who is forced to submit.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Totally Buff defeated Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire at 12:01 by submission when Luger forced Palumbo to submit to the Torture Rack after KroniK got involved. As they celebrate in the ring, with Buff Bagwell noticeably limping quite a bit, Tony Schiavone is still outraged at Kronik's actions here tonight as they just screwed Palumbo and O'Haire out of the Tag Team Titles. Mike Tenay wonders why KroniK did what they did, but to Tony Schiavone the answer is obvious; Luger and Bagwell hired KroniK to help them get their titles back here tonight. Bobby Heenan calls that wild speculation at best, but whatever the case, Luger and Bagwell are left celebrating in the ring as they are once again the WCW Tag Team Champions. <strong>(B+)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <img alt="Z1DlA0N.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Z1DlA0N.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="9umPviH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/9umPviH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> "Mean" Gene Okerlund is backstage with "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett, and the topic of the interview is, of course, tonight's main event with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Before Gene can even start the interview, Jarrett tells him to listen up, slapnut, because it's real simple; "The Chosen One" was robbed of the World Title at Halloween Havoc, he was screwed out of regaining the World Title at Mayhem, and now that he's done retiring "Macho Man" Randy Savage for good, it's time for the World Title to come back home where it belongs and that is exactly what's gonna happen tonight. Gene asks Jarrett his thoughts on stepping into the ring with three of the top stars in the business today, the World Heavyweight Champion, Sting, "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner and Booker T, and Jarrett says that Sting, Steiner and Booker T may be three of the biggest stars in the business--MAY BE--but "The Chosen One" is THE biggest star in the business and there is no maybe about that. This one starts off slow with a lot mind games being played back and forth, but when it finally does get underway it's fairly simple; Nash uses his size and strength advantage to physically dominate Flair, while Flair zeroes in on Nash's legs every chance he gets. Nash controls most of the action, but Flair stays in the fight by fiercely attacking Nash's legs every time "Big Sexy" gives Flair even the slightest breather. The match eventually spills out of the ring as well where Nash takes advantage by hitting a big time sidewalk on Flair, who lands hard on the floor. Nash gets Flair back in the ring, but Flair once again shows his fighting spirit as he meets Nash with a series of knife edge chops. Flair then bounces off the ropes looking for something, but all he finds is Nash's big boot planted right in his face. The straps come down for Nash, who hits a snake eyes, another sidewalk slam, and then he goes for the big finish; the Jackknife Powerbomb! Nash hits it, and then he covers Flair and secures himself a huge victory here at Sin.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Kevin Nash defeated Ric Flair at 10:21 by pinfall with a Jackknife Powerbomb (B)</strong></p><p> </p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44117" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">WCW Cruiserweight Championship</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="yQlOLne.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yQlOLne.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="yjZhkPT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/yjZhkPT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />vs.<img alt="TqDQ0Kz.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TqDQ0Kz.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />w/<img alt="YJdjdt3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YJdjdt3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The Cruiserweight Championship is on the line next and the big talking point for the announcers in this one is the fact that every time Chavo Guerrero has faced Billy Kidman one on one in recent history, Billy Kidman has been victorious. But if Chavo wants to retain his title tonight, he'll have to find a way to defeat Kidman. The match starts off hot and it looks like Kidman has an answer for everything Chavo throws at him, which quickly frustrates the Cruiserweight Champion. Every time it looks like Chavo has established some control, Kidman is able to turn the tables on him, picking up several near-falls in the process. We are several minutes into the match before Chavo is finally able to assert some control--which he does by cheating, of course, as he first "accidentally" makes Kidman bump into the referee, and then he hits a low blow while the referee is momentarily dazed. Chavo his a series of suplexes, and then he goes for the Gory Bomb...but Kidman is able to reverse the attempt into a roll-up and Chavo only just barely kicks out in time. Eyes wide in shock at the realization that Kidman almost got the better of him again, Chavo starts putting the boots to Kidman, showing a certain viciousness here. Torrie Wilson tries to rally the crowd behind Kidman, and Kidman fights his way back into it, eventually catching Chavo with a BK Bomb for a near-fall. In the exchange that follows, the referee is accidentally knocked down, leaving all three men down on the floor of the ring.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="pbZkaFm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pbZkaFm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Which is when Juventud Guerrera makes his way down to the ring. The animosity between these two men is clear and every punch, every kick, every move and every hold has a little bit of an extra edge to it. Konnan continues to build momentum, but that momentum is stolen away from him in an instant when Shawn Stasiak distracts the referee to allow Mark Jindrak to enter the ring and hit a huge full nelson slam on Konnan. Both Tony and Mike call this cowardly on the part of Jarrett, while "The Brain" naturally praises Jarrett for being smart enough to let the other three beat the heck out of each other and then Jarrett can pick up the scraps after that. The plan only works for so long, however, as "Big Poppa Pump" eventually spots Jarrett outside the ring, and he promptly leaves the ring to bring Jarrett back inside where he ends up getting trapped between a rock and a hard place--that being between Sting and Booker T, who beat Jarrett back and forth between them much to the delight of the crowd. Steiner then re-enters the ring and levels all three opponents with a series of Steinerlines and belly to belly suplexes. As the match proceeds the pace slows as the effects of the match are taking their toll on all four men, but it continues to be a back and forth affair throughout, with all four men picking up at least one near-fall during this stretch of the match. The action spills out of the ring as well as Booker and Steiner brawl all around ringside, while Sting and Jarrett go at it in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="e0KbmYl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/e0KbmYl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> "The Dog-faced Gremlin" Rick Steiner makes his way out from the back, putting Booker T at a two on one disadvantage outside the ring as Rick joins his brother in beating down Booker. Once again the announcers are split as Tony and Mike condemn the Steiner Brothers's actions, while Bobby Heenan reminds them that there are no disqualifications in a four way dance, so what the Steiner Brothers are doing is actually very, very smart. As Rick continues to beat down Booker, Scott returns to the ring and uses the lead pipe on Sting as well. It is Jarrett's turn next, but "The Chosen One" takes a page out of Ric Flair's book as he begs and pleads with Scott...but Jarrett's begging falls on deaf ears as Scott drives the pipe into the midsection of Jarrett as well! Prior to the show, Orndorff was seen working with several wrestlers, including Sean O'Haire, Mike Sanders and Yun Yang, giving tips on how to be an effective heel, as well as tips on mic work and psychology. The feeling among WCW management was that with the recent signings of people like Juventud Guerrera and The Sandman, combined with some of the more problematic personalities already in the locker room, that Orndorff could be a more positive and stabilizing presence in the locker room. So far, he's off to a good start.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Buff Bagwell</strong> hurt his knee during the WCW Tag Team Championships title match at Sin, and while Buff was able to finish the match, the word is that he could be out for up to a month. The feeling was that management really wanted to keep Stevie Ray around given his long and storied history with the company, but that they simply couldn't find a role for him to justify extending his contract. As for Hell Raiser, he had been staying clean following his stint in rehab and had worked a handful of matches on Nitro, but management simply didn't have anything for him and so a contract renewal was never really in the cards.</p><p> </p></div></blockquote>

It's once again time for the results of this past month's prediction contest, and once again it was a close thing.

Before we get to the winner I'll post the right answers to the bonus questions:

The main event World Title match was the highest rated match of the night

Mike Sanders vs. Konnan was the lowest rated match (both this match and the Hardcore tag team match got a C- rating, but numbers wise the Hardcore match got a 58 while Konnan and Sanders got a 55)

The main event was the longest match of the night

One Title change took place as Totally Buff recaptured the Tag Team Championships

And it was Scott Steiner who took the fall in the main event

With that out of the way, the winner this time around is...

Henderson with 23 hits across the four shows

Crackerjack and Satyr24 tied for second place with 22 hits

And Beejus finished third with 19 hits

Congratulations to Henderson on the win, and a thank you goes out to everyone who predicts and/or follows the Quest. It is as always greatly appreciated.

The prize will be sent out as soon as this is posted, as will the two minor prizes from the Starrcade prediction contest.

<p>I'm surprised to see Sting pull off another win, but it's a very pleasant surprise. It looks as though we will be heading into Sting vs. Nash for SuperBrawl, which should be a fun feud to watch. Good call to send Flair home for a little bit though, as if he's bad enough that he's tanking performances then he must be pretty angry. Some time away can help you build him something bigger upon his return too, which should help.</p><p> </p><p>

We are less than 24 hours removed from the conclusion of the first pay per view event of the year, WCW Sin, and this edition of Monday Nitro kicks off with some in-ring action as The Mamalukes square off against Chris Kanyon and Mke Awesome. Mike Tenay speculates that the current Tag Team Champions, Totally Buff, must be keeping an eye on this match because either of these teams could easily be next in line to challenge for the titles. This is a good, solid tag team match to open the show where both teams have their periods of dominance and both teams are able to score a near-fall against each other. In the end, however, it's Chris Kanyon and Mike Awesome who are able to build on their success at Sin last night, where they defeated Bam Bam Bigelow and The Sandman, by picking up another win here as Chris Kanyon hits the Kanyon Kutter on Big Vito following a distraction by Stacy Keibler, and Kanyon secures the three count and a second big victory in as many nights for the duo of Kanyon and Awesome.

Chris Kanyon and Mike Awesome defeated The Mamalukes at 13:08 by pinfall when Kanyon pinned Vito following a Kanyon Kutter after a distraction from Stacy Keibler (C+)

As Kanyon and Awesome celebrate their win, we swing by the announce table where Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Bobby Heenan briefly discuss the success Kanyon and Awesome have been having ever since they joined forces with Stacy Keibler. Bobby Heenan even goes so far as to guarantee that it is only a matter of time before Kanyon and Awesome are Tag Team Champions, and he adds that they might be the only team capable of defeating Totally Buff. Tony and Mike both want to argue that point, especially since Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo already defeated Totally Buff at Starrcade, but they don't have the time to do so as...

Eric Bischoff and "The Total Package" Lex Luger make their way down to the ring once it is cleared out, with Buff Bagwell being noticeably absent, which the announcers point out as they talk about the rumors that Bagwell was injured last night at Sin. Once in the ring, Bischoff gets on the mic and says that last night Totally Buff once again proved to the world that they are the best tag team in wrestling today, but sadly they did so at a terrible cost. Bischoff confirms that Buff Bagwell was indeed injured last night and won't be able to compete for a while. Bischoff then hands the mic to Luger, who says that last night was supposed to be a night to celebrate, but that all was ruined by the careless, selfish and pitiful actions of O'Haire and Palumbo. Luger is about to continue, but he is cut off as...(B)

Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo make their way out from the back to stand at the top of the ramp. O'Haire says that he and Palumbo were screwed out of the titles last night by KroniK, and they are out here tonight to claim their rematch. Bischoff says that O'Haire and Palumbo must be hard of hearing, because he just said that Buff Bagwell won't be able to compete for a while, so O'Haire and Palumbo can't get their rematch, which Bischoff seems pleased about. O'Haire says that they heard him--they just don't care. O'Haire says they were robbed last night and they want their guaranteed rematch--and they want it tonight! Bischoff confers with Luger in the ring and they come up with a solution; Bischoff suggests that either Palumbo or O'Haire will face Lex Luger next week on Nitro and if they somehow should manage to win, they will get their rematch for the Tag Team Titles at SuperBrawl against "The Total Package" and a replacement partner. But if Luger wins...O'Haire and Palumbo not only won't get their rematch at SuperBrawl--they forfeit their rematch altogether. In other words; they can take the all or nothing challenge...or they can sit at home and wait for Buff Bagwell to be cleared to wrestle again, whenever that might happen. Tony Schiavone calls this a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of a deal, but O'Haire and Palumbo agree to Bischoff's challenge and we've got a huge match set for next week! (B)

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is backstage with the man who could quite possibly be Gene's least favorite person to interview, "The Cat" Ernest Miller, who as always is accompanied by Miss Jones. Gene asks "The Cat" about his World Title opportunity later tonight against Sting, and "The Cat" declares tonight to be a great night, quite possibly the single greatest in the history of professional wrestling, because tonight is the night when "The Cat" finally becomes the World Champion. "The Cat" vows that after he wins tonight, there is going to be a huge celebration next week on Nitro; we're talking singing, dancing, a live performance by James Brown! "The Cat" says that no expense will be spared because this will be the celebration for the greatest World Champion in the history of WCW. "The Cat" says that Sting better kiss that World Title belt goodbye because after he gets his ass whupped later tonight he won't be the Champion anymore! "The Cat" and Miss Jones then walk off as we head back to ringside while the announcers hype up the fact that Sting will indeed be defending the World Heavyweight Championship later tonight on Nitro against "The Cat" in our main event of the evening! WCW Cruiserweight Championship

Chavo Guerrero retained the WCW Cruiserweight Championship last night at Sin against Billy Kidman, albeit in no small part thanks to the interference of Juventud Guerrera. Tonight Chavo is tasked with another title defense as young AJ Styles gets an opportunity to secure his first Championship here in WCW. There are a lot of classic heel antics on display here as Chavo applies a mix of stalling and cheating to both gain the upper hand, but also to get under the skin of Styles. Styles is able to keep his cool and get some good shots in, but in the end this is not AJ's night as Chavo counters a roll-up with a roll-up of his own, putting his feet on the ropes for leverage as he steals a three count and a successful title defense.

Following the Cruiserweight Championship match we cut backstage where "Mean" Gene Okerlund is standing by with the man who failed to recapture that title last night at Sin, Billy Kidman, who is accompanied by Torrie Wilson. Gene asks Kidman about losing his Cruiserweight CHampionship rematch last night at Sin thanks to interference from Juventud Guerrera. Kidman says that Juventud has been sticking his nose in his business ever since he came back and he doesn't know why, but he knows that he's had enough of it. Kidman then looks directly into the camera as he says that he wants Juvi in the ring next week on Nitro and he won't be taking no for an answer! As Kidman and Torrie walk off, Gene concludes that Billy Kidman just laid out a challenge for Juventud Guerrera. (C-)

KZ3THeU.jpg7bFbOrf.jpgSvNacxY.jpg

Back at ringside, Mike Sanders, Shawn Stasiak and Mark Jindrak make their way out from the back and down to the ring, seemingly for the sole purpose of Mike Sanders bragging about defeating Konnan last night at Sin. Sanders is all smiles as he says that last night was just the beginning for the three of them--a new and better beginning--and that it's only a matter of time before they've got gold around their waists again. It looks like Sanders has every intention of continuing his bragging, but...

v4ps6Ig.jpg

That's when Konnan comes out from the back to stand at the top of the stage, and "K-Dawg" doesn't look too happy tonight, as both Tony and Mike point out. Konnan says that Sanders knows damn well that he only won last night because of his boys getting involved, so how about this; Sanders and his boys versus "K-Dawg" and his boys next week on Nitro in a six man tag? Sanders is still smiling as he says that, once again, Konnan is just digging his own grave, but he won't pass up an opportunity to throw some dirt on it! The match is on for next week, which the announcers do their best to hype up. (D+)

rxMZSbm.jpg1S9VfKR.jpg

We cut to somewhere in the back where Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo have apparently been laid out as we see them lying motionless on the concrete floor. As the camera slowly zooms out, we two sets of legs standing above O'Haire and Palumbo, and as the camera continues to zoom further out, it is revealed that the two sets of legs belong to...

Brian Adams and Bryan Clark--KroniK! As Adams and Clark admire their own handiwork, Tony Schiavone notes that it seems KroniK still feel they have a score to settle with O'Haire and Palumbo even after costing them the Tag Team Titles last night at Sin. ©

Booker T's long-standing issues with the Steiner Brothers continued last night at Sin when Rick Steiner got involved in the main event and tried to take Booker T out of the equation. Tonight, Booker T faces "The Dog-faced Gremlin" in the ring in a hard-hitting brawl of a match.

aiJ3oYx.jpg

But when "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner makes his way down to the ring, it quickly becomes apparent that the Steiner Brothers don't care about winning this match; they want to hurt Booker. Scott Steiner enters the ring and attacks Booker in plain view of the referee, leading to an obvious disqualification.

Booker T defeated Rick Steiner at 4:41 by disqualification when Scott Steiner got involved (B)

The match is over and Booker T will go down as the winner, but the Steiner Brothers are far from finished as they continue their joint attack on Booker T after the match, beating him down. The attack only stops when enough referees and officials hit the ring to finally drag Booker to safety, and Scott Steiner then turns his attention to the mic. Scott says that what happened last night was a freak accident and everone nows that "The Big Bad Booty Daddy" is the true World Champion of wrestling and he's gonna prove that each and every week until the World Title is back around his waist where it belongs! Scott says that he's gonna make an example of a new victim each and every week until he gets what he wants, and if anybody's got a problem with that..."try and stop me!" It looks like Scott Steiner is more dangerous than ever after losing last night at Sin! (A)

Z1DlA0N.jpghH12gGz.jpg

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is back again and this time he is with the WCW United States Champion, Diamond Dallas Page. Gene asks DDP about putting his title on the line again tonight after retaining last night at Sin, and Page says that he finally beat some respect into Rey Misterio Jr. last night, just like he proved to the so called fans that as much as they may want to cheer for Rey, the fact remains that he is no match for DDP, just like BG James is gonna be no match for DDP tonight either! Page says that BG James will feel the bang tonight just like so many have done before him, and just like so many will after him. If BG is smart, he'll keep his mouth shut and take his loss like a man. If he's not so smart, he'll run his mouth like the disrespectful little punk he is...and then there will be hell to pay. Page then heads toward the entrance area as Tony Schiavone hypes up the fact that the US Title will be on the line next! (C+)

WCW United States Championship

BtqI9mq.jpg

hH12gGz.jpgvs.wNECq63.jpg

BG James doesn't look like a man who intends to let DDP's words get under his skin as he comes out for this one ready for a fight, and he takes the fight to DDP as soon as the bell rings, eventually driving Page from the ring to regroup on the floor. Page gathers himself and re-enters the ring and the match, and from here this is a good match with plenty of back and forth action and a couple of near-falls going both ways, but in the end BG James comes up short as he falls victim to the Diamond Cutter, which is enough to secure DDP the victory in what was a good and hard-fought contest.

Diamond Dallas Page defeated BG James at 11:03 by pinfall with a Diamond Cutter. DDP retains the WCW United States Championship (B-)

Z1DlA0N.jpg7PSSM69.jpg

With two title match down and two successful titles defenses in the books, "Mean" Gene Okerlund is backstage with the WCW World Heavyweight Champion who, after successfully defending his title last night in a four way dance, has to put his title on the line again tonight against "The Cat", and Gene asks Sting about the match. Sting says that last night was one of the toughest matches of his entire career, but tonight is going to be another tough night because he knows that tonight is the biggest night in the career of "The Cat", and the Stinger also knows that "The Cat" will bring everything he's got tonight. Gene asks Sting about "The Cat" posing a different challenge than what he faced last night, but Sting says that once upon a time people were convinced that some young punk called Sting could never beat the legendary "Nature Boy" Ric Flair...and look what happened. And look at everything it lead to. Sting says that he's been in this game too long to make the mistake of underestimating anybody. Sting finishes off by talking directly to "The Cat" through the camera, saying that he knows "The Cat" will bring everything he's got tonight, and that Sting wants "The Cat" to bring eveyrthing he's got tonight because tonight...it's SHOWTIME! (B-)

IJIxeY2.jpg

Following Sting's interview we cut back to ringside where Lance Storm's music hits and Storm makes his way down to the ring. After his usual "if I can be serious for a minute", Storm proceeds to boast about his victory against Dustin Rhodes last night at Sin, saying that, once again, he went out and did exactly what he said he was going to do. Storm says that that's what he is all about; he says what he is going to do, and then he does it. No excuses, no ifs or buts--something he knows that Americans cannot relate to at all because they are all about making excuses. The crowd boos, but Storm tells them that they shouldn't blame him for their inferiority--they should blame themselves! Storm then gets to the heart of the matter; he issues an open challenge to anyone in the back to come out here and face him. And when they do, mark his words....he'll beat them! Storm drops the mic, and after a bit of a wait....

s1tPIbO.jpg

The Sandman's music hits and Sandman makes his way out from the back, evidently accepting Storm's challenge!

IJIxeY2.jpgvs.s1tPIbO.jpg

Tony Schiavone speculates that Sandman cannnot possibly be 100% tonight after being on the losing end of the hardcore tag team match last night at Sin, but, as always, Sandman looks ready for a fight here tonight. Sandman hits the ring and goes on the attack immediately, and Mike Tenay notes that as long as Sandman can make this a brawl, a fight, he's got a chance at beating Storm. Sandman has Storm reeling early on, but Storm eventually finds his footing in the match and he is able to put Sandman away with a Superkick to secure himself another victory.

Lance Storm defeated The Sandman at 6:51 by pinfall following a Superkick (B-)

Following Storm's victory, we head to the announce table where Tony, Mike and Bobby hype up our main event of the evening, which is coming up next, as Sting defends the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against "The Cat" Ernest Miller. They talk about Sting's tough title defense last night at Sin, as well as how this is the biggest opportunity in the career of "The Cat", setting the stage for what's to come. Tony then sends us back down to ringside as the World Heavyweight Championship will be defending next! (C+)

"The Cat" is in trouble early on as Sting unleashes a flurry of offense, including a series of clotheslines, an inverted atomic drop and a standing dropkick. It looks like this one could be over early as Sting pulls "The Cat" to his feet and whips him into the corner. Sting lines up for a Stinger Splash, but Miss Jones is up on the apron and she distracts Sting for just long enough that "The Cat" is able to regroup and surprise Sting with a martial arts kick. "The Cat" follows up with several more kicks, building momentum, and then he hits a DDT to take the Champion off his feet. As Miss Jones applauds approvingly at ringside, "The Cat" looks to maintain control, but he soon finds himself on the defensive as Sting rallies and fights back, but the referee is accidentally knocked down in the process, leading to...

5crDQaK.jpgRBBYBSm.jpg

Crowbar and Daffney (of all people) running down to the ring. Crowbar hits the ring and goes after Sting, but Sting soon gains the upper hand and tosses Crowbar from the ring. Daffney climbs to the top turnbuckle in the meantime, and she leaps when Sting turns around, trying for a splash, but Sting catches her and sets her down. Finding herself face to face with the World Champion, Daffney quickly bails from the ring. While all this is going on, "The Cat" has regrouped and when Sting turns around he does so right into a Feliner!

1...

2...

NO!

Sting kicks out at two-and-a-half and "The Cat" can't believe it. The announcers are confused as heck as to why Crowbar and Daffney would come out here and attack Sting, but "The Cat" tries to press the advantage, only to find himself on the receiving end of another rally by the World Champion, who strings some big moves together, follows them up with a pair of Stinger Splashes, and then finally the Scorpion Deathdrop as the exclamation point. Sting covers "The Cat" and this one is over.

Sting defeated "The Cat" at 7:34 by pinfall following a Scorpion Deathdrop. Sting retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship (B)

Despite interference during the match, Sting retains the World Heavyweight Championship and the announcers put over Sting's performance here tonight, but they also wonder again why Crowbar and Daffney would attack Sting. They don't have much of an opportunity to think about it further before...

The Wolfpac music hits and "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash emerges from the back to stand at the top of the entrance ramp, and Nitro comes to an end with Nash and Sting staring each other down while Tony Schiavone excitedly announcers that it looks like "Big Sexy" is back on the hunt for the WCW World Championship!
