We see a recap video of last night’s In Your House: No Way Out, showing still photos of several matches ending with the main event that saw D-Generation X victorious over Owen Hart and Rowdy Roddy Piper

When the show beginds ther match is already in action with Lynn and Funk going move for move all over the ring. When Credible gets a tag in the double teams begin. It’s cut short though when Funk catches both Implact Players with a flying cross body block and makes the tag to Savio. The veteran begins taking care of business but when he bounds off the ropes, Sunny hooks his leg. Nearly tripping, he turns his attention to her, allowing Credible to regroup and when Savio turns around he catches a flying forearm in the face. A quick tag later, and he’s the victim of Total Impact and that leads to a three count.

We cut to the backstage where officials are gathrered around Commissioner Slaughter. Like Ken Shamrock a few weeks ago there is no idea who did it but Slaughter looks badly injured.

As the camera is focused on Slaughter, Marc Mero grabs ahold of it and puts it right in his face. He says the biggest star on RAW should be getting the spotlight. But now he’s not just the biggest star after last night he’s also the strongest man in the WWF. After flexing a little he barks at Sable, who’s been standing behind him to follow him out.

When we return from break, Goldust and Marlena are sitting in director’s chairs facing away from the camera. Goldust says that every good movie studio goes through reorganization and sometimes you just have make a change at the top, but make no mistake he is still the director and he is still in control. Sometimes, you just have to go back to what made you… golden. Marlena offers a hand which he kisses before looking back to the camera and we see that his face is entirely gold painted. He reminds us never to forget the name of…..Goldust.

The New Age Outlaws arrive at the arena, but as soon as they’re out of their car the Godwinns come running up to fight them. They brawl for a few moments before the Tag Team Champions gain a momentary advanatge and they use that chance to get back in their car and escape as quickly as they can, leaving the Godwinns still spoiling for a fight.

Grade: 63

Back in the locker room the members of the NWA are having a celebration after their victory the night before. Cornette declares that 1998 will be the official rebirth of the NWA and that by the end of the year they will control every title in the WWF!

Grade: 52

This is just an old fashioned slobberknocker as Ross calls it. Austin and Gordy go at one another from the opening bell with each man controlling some moments before the other makes a comeback. Gordy actually almost gets Austin with a rollup, with the aid of a handful of trunks, but Austin kicks out at the last moment and the action turns to the outside. Gordy tries to whip Austin into the post but the Intercontinental Champion revereses it and Gordy goes head first into the post, busting himself open. The action returns to the ring where Austin begins picking apart the other veteran, finally ending it by ducking under a clothesline, then kicking Gordy in the gut and delivering a Stone Cold Stunner for the win.

As Austin celebrates his win, Chyna comes running down to ringside and jumps on the apron. This causes Austin to focus on her and he never sees Triple H come from the crowd behind him. Triple H doesn’t enter alone however, he has a chair which he uses to whack Austin in the back. Again and again he brings the chair down on the Intercontinental Champion until officials flood the ring. Triple H makes sure to give Austin a crotch chop on his way out of the ring to remember him by.

Grade: 94

We see a replay of Triple H’s sneak attack on Stone Cold Steve Austin which has left him hurt in the ring.

Backstage Owen Hart is walking down the hallway when he turns a corner and comes face to face with Vince McMahon who begins to grin. He then tells Hart he hopes he doesn’t end tonight like he did the night before as a loser…like his brother. Owen keeps his temper and says he wants to see McMahon grin like that in a month when he wins the WWF Championship at WrestleMania. McMahon’s grin fades as Hart moves past him and continues on his way.

Grade: 86

The Rock and the newcomer Landry actually have a competitive match in the early going but as the match wears on the Rock takes control, berating Landry with smacktalk inbetween attacks. The Rock gets a close two count with a spinebuster but Landry kicks out, which seems to infuriate the Rock who picks him up, facing away from him, and drives several elbows into Landry’s back before spinning him around and delivering a Rock Bottom for the win.

We see a replay of what Kane did to the Undertaker last night at the pay per view, leaving him in a pool of his own blood.

We’re taken backstage where Paul Bearer and Kane are standing by. Bearer says he warned the Undertaker. Kane would never side with the Undertaker, not as long as Paul Bearer is breathing but it’s time to put an end to the family turmoil. At WrestleMania, Kane challenges his brother to a match…a Buried Alive match!

Grade: 89

The NWA members are still in a good mood and while Jarrett and the Blackjacks are in the ring, Cornette and Rich are on the outside always providing sources of distractions. Aguila gets a momentary upperhand on Windham and along with Christopher and Taylor they make a series of quick tags keeping Jarrett on defense but when Christopher goes to the top, the Blackjacks make a distraction, which allows Rich to shove him off the top rope behind the referee’s back. Jarrett makes the tag to Bradshaw who bounds off the ropes and connects with a wicked looking lariat, ala Stan Hansen for the win.

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler hype next week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event which we have just learned will be headlined by Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H for the Intercontinental Championship

As we get ready for the night’s main event, Gerald Brisco comes out to the stage and informs us that on the order of Mr. Mack-man, the next match is no disqualification! He waves and goes backstage as JR bemoans what this means for Owen Hart.

Grade: 41

The match begins one on one but it doesn’t stay that way for long. At the first sign of trouble for Faarooq as Hart is building momentum, D’Lo and Kama jump into the ring and attack Hart from behind. They pummel him and though he fights back, he can’t overcome the 3 on 1 numbers once Faarooq regroups and joins in. Finally, barely able to stand, Hart is picked up by D’Lo and Kama and fed to Faarooq who delivers the Dominator for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Faarooq
Grade: 74

The Nation leaves the ring and marches back up the ramp but they’re met by Shawn Michaels who stops and nods to Faarooq who pauses but then returns it. Michaels makes his way down to the ring as Hart is just beginning to get back to his feet and attacks, clipping his knee from behind. Michaels is methodical, picking at Hart’s knee, stomping on it before dragging him to the corner and applying a figure four leg lock around the steel post. Hart is screaming in pain but Michaels won’t release it even as officials try to intervene.

Grade: 92

We see Vince McMahon on the phone. From his end of the conversation he thanks the person for accepting his offer and he can’t wait to introduce him personally next week to the entire world. As he hangs up McMahon can’t stop smiling.

We’re about a month away from WrestleMania 14 which promises to be among the biggest extravaganzas Boston has ever seen since the days of Paul Revere. The main event is something that’s been brewing since the Survivor Series matching Shawn Michaels’ charisma and some would say arrogance (all due respect to the Model) against Owen Hart’s desire to avenge his family’s name. This one has the opportunity to go down among the classics we’ve seen at prior WrestleManias like Savage-Steamboat and a different Michaels-Hart match from two years ago. I can’t wait to call this one. There are many other feuds and possible matchups out there but the other one gaining a lot of attention is the family feud between the Undertaker and his “little” brother Kane. Recently Paul Bearer who we’ve learned was involved with Undertaker’s family a long time ago challenged the Deadman to a Buried Alive match at WrestleMania. We have yet to hear from the Undertaker but if I was a betting man I’d put money down that says he will answer the challenge in a major way. That match with two heavy hitters has slobberknocker written all over it. Around the WWF these days we have several performers turning in top notch action every week but one who has begun to catch my eye is the young Simon Landry. It seems no matter who he is paired with he is gaining a lot of attention and if he keeps it up I think we may be seeing a future star for years to come. The other side of the coin is someone who isn’t quite hitting their stride. In this case I feel it’s several. To put it bluntly I don’t believe this ‘NWA’ story is captivating audiences or putting many butts in the seat as they say. The NWA had its day and has a long storied legacy to be proud of but I don’t think it meshes well with the new era were the keyword is ATTITUDE. My friend Mr. Cornette surely disagrees but I think we will see this go the way of Mantaur or ol’ Knuckleball Abe Schwartz sooner rather than later. That’s it for this month’s report. And later tonight, Big Sexy Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Syxx will be on hand LIVE here in Los Angeles to tell the world what the future of the nWo is. They try to double team Matt but Jeff is back in and takes Richards out of the match. Kidman soon falls victim to the Twist of Fate for the 3 count. That is about the only offense Malenko ever gets as Douglas dominates from there and nails the Franchiser and then the Figure Four and Malenko fights for a long time but, eventually, he has to submit. Winner by Submission: Shane Douglas Grade: 81 [Following the match, Elizabeth hands a chair to Shane who waits for Malenko to get up before slamming the chair into his head. Malenko falls down and Douglas goes for a piledriver onto the chair but Benoit runs out from the back. Elizabeth gets Shane’s attention and the two bail before the Crippler makes it to the ring. He takes us back to last night at SuperBrawl and shows how The Steiner Brothers defeated Harlem Heat for the WCW World Tag Team Titles and ending the team of Harlem Heat. Mean Gene welcomes his guests, Booker T & Stevie Ray come out to a loud pop. They thank the fans because, for 5 years, whether they hated Harlem Heat or loved them..they knew that these brothers from 110th street busted their ass in that ring every night of their life. There is a lot of change going on in professional wrestling these days and, unfortunately, that means change for Booker T & Stevie Ray. The fact is they are men and they got beat last night. And they will honor their commitment. Harlem Heat will never again team but, with that change means opportunity. And if the Steiners think they are done with Booker T & Stevie Ray, they are dead wrong. At Uncensored Booker T will face Scott Steiner one on one and Booker will kick his ass. But tonight? Syxx gets on the mic and says “but that is only the beginning because they’re not here tonight…but we are”. He and Scott and Nash start threatening the production crew around the ring as they promise to take apart Nitro when suddenly the crowd comes to life as Arn Anderson walks down the aisle and gets into the ring. He says that he isn’t looking for any trouble, he’s not looking for a fight, he just wants to talk. The three stand back and let him have the floor. Arn looks at them and says he doesn’t understand where they are coming from because to him WCW is about tradition and honor and being a man. Now he knows that they hate tradition but, Arn was here when Kevin Nash came into this company and he can remember Kevin shaking his hand. Arn was here when Scott Hall was a kid coming over from the AWA and he remembers the respect that Scott had when he met the four horsemen. Nash grabs a mic:</a><a rel=""> </a><a rel=""> “You know, earlier tonight a great man made a real impression on us. A great man told us about who we were and what we should be. A legend WOKE US UP! And that man is….</a><a rel=""> </a><a rel=""> ERIC BISCHOFF. Easy E you reminded all of us of what we are and that’s the nWo. We are a unit. We are a family. We will redouble our mission to take over WCW and we have you to thank for that.” </a><a rel=""> </a><a rel=""> Bischoff hugs Kevin and says “you’re welcome. But, you were also addressed by another “legend” tonight.”</a><a rel=""> </a><a rel=""> Nash laughs and calls Anderson a fossil and says, “we have a response for that as well…and here it is” before pointing to the entrance set where we see Syxx and Scott Hall and they are dragging a hooded figure down the entrance way and toward ringside. </a><a rel=""> </a><a rel=""> When they get to the ring, they take the hood off and we see </a><a rel="">Arn Anderson</a><a rel=""> nearly unconscious and wearing a crimson mask. He has clearly been taken out. They roll him into the ring and Eric holds the mic as Nash says “this is our response, old man….death to WCW” before dropping Anderson with a Jackknife Powerbomb. Nash drops him one more time with a second powerbomb before Syxx and Hall drag him over to the ropes. </a><a rel=""> </a><a rel=""> Bischoff is there to handcuff Arn to the ropes. Syxx pulls a hammer out from his jacket and it is clear that they are going to bludgeon Anderson. At this point the camera man in the ring puts down the camera he is holding to try to help but, he is taken out by a Nash big boot. Suddenly Syxx and Hall leave the ring and take out each person at ringside including ring announcer David Penzer. </a><a rel=""> </a><a rel=""> They go back into the ring and prepare to nail Anderson when Larry Zbyszko has run down, even Schiavone and Tenay have ran down and the flood gates open as WCW pours from the back. Though the company loves him as a heel, they are really into him as a babyface and sees a big future for the Latino firebrand. *WCW is already in Panama City Beach, Florida in production preparation for this year's Spring Break Out event at Club LaVela during week 3 in March. WCW is planning on a big surprise for that show. *WCW will be running two WCW live special house shows in Canada during week 4 of March. *Expect some debuting and returning talent for WCW in March especially for the cruiserweight division. *Some creative plans are being developed for Mortis as well as Alex Wright for future usage in 1998. *Sources in the WWF say Shawn Michaels demanded a huge raise, reportedly over $30,000 a month from Vince McMahon or he wasn’t showing up to RAW next week. McMahon reportedly agreed and Michaels is making north of $75,000 a month. Interesting given McMahon’s statements that he couldn’t afford to keep Bret Hart. *WWF hired Harvey Wimpleman and Jose Estrada Sr. this week to work backstage as agents. *Stone Cold Steve Austin has struck up an unlikely friendship with Nick Dinsmore, taking the youngster under his wing and travelling together on the road. *Sunny showed her dislike for Sable this past week turning several members of the locker room against her by spreading particularly salacious stories. *Wrestlemania 14 is booked and barring injuries sources say the match lineup won’t be changing. WCW Monday Nitro - Episode 128

Monday Week 1, March 1998 - - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

[Nitro opens up to a live shot of the arena and there is apprehension on the faces of the staff in the arena. At ringside are armed police officers surrounding the time's keeper area as well as up the runway and we see armed police officers around the announcer's desk.

Tony welcomes us to Nitro and says that based on the actions of last Sunday at SuperBrawl and especially last Monday on Nitro where the Wolfpac attacked WCW personnel as well as WCW wrestlers and Arn Anderson, WCW management will provide security here tonight for personnel of WCW.

As soon as he finishes that he throws us to the ring where Mean Gene is in the ring and introduces the Chairman of the WCW Executive Committee, James J Dillon, who is with him. JJ says that WCW has made a decision to not air the footage of the attack last week on Nitro because it went beyond wrestling. It is one thing to attack wrestlers who can respond in a physical way but it is another to attack a camera man, or a ring announcer, or a production personnel.

WCW has thought long and hard about how to respond to the actions of the nWo and many ideas were considered including lawsuits and filing of criminal charges. But, after speaking to Arn Anderson and speaking to various wrestlers, WCW will go another route.

As we went on the air tonight the nWo has yet to show their faces. So, tonight, later on in this show, JJ Dillion will walk bout out to this ring, he invite the nWo to come out - and in case they think of attacking again know that Bret Hart, DDP and WCW World Champion Sting are infact here tonight - and in this ring he will inform them of their fate.

JJ shakes the hand of Mean Gene and Gene and JJ walk to the back looking around and they have police escorts.

Tony tells us to stick around; Nitro will kick off LIVE from Philadelphia when we come back on TNT.”]

They remind us of the blockbuster announcement that sometime tonight, JJ Dillon will call out the nWo and inform them of their fate. Later on in this broadcast, we will see the Cruiserweight Title defended when Rey Mysterio takes on Psychosis, Raven will take on Finlay, and Scott Steiner will take on The Ultimo Dragon.

But, we go to the ring for our opening contest and the winner of this match will challenge Eddie Guerrero for the United States Title at Uncensored, its Curt Hennig against one of the biggest stars in Mexico, Heavy Metal…lets go to the ring and David Penzer.]

[Mean Gene Okerlund in the ring. He welcomes us back to Nitro and to hour #2 and welcomes us to his guests at this time..the Franchise Shane Douglas & Miss Elizabeth. The pair come out hand in hand and are all lovey dovey as they strut down to the ring. Douglas makes a point to mock how Flair would come out with his ladies showing them off. Elizabeth gets into the ring and then holds the ropes for Douglas and the two hold hands as they walk over to Gene.

Gene asks the question that the world has been wondering: “what the hell is going on with you two?” Shane grabs the mic and tells Gene to leave the ring. Douglas says that they are here in Philadelphia, a city that has become home, and man is it good to be home. Five years ago, Shane Douglas was run out of this company by one man; Ric Flair and so the young man that would become the Franchise of professional wrestling made his way here to Philadelphia. The land of the most extreme wrestling fans in the world and it was here that hatred for Flair began to fester and eat at Douglas and it was in this city that Douglas turned that hatred into a drive to prove that old dinosaur wrong and make something of himself.

And that is what Shane Douglas did. Meanwhile, Ric Flair was having classic matches in this town for this company and all around the world and he did so thinking that his geriatric ass was still the Nature Boy.

Well, Ric, “space mountain was condemned a long time ago” and out of all the most disgusting and insulting things Flair ever did – thinking that a 50 year old man could deserve the hottest, classiest, most beautiful woman in the history of this industry, Elizabeth, is the worst thing Flair could’ve done. – Douglas hands the mic over to Liz.

“Ric, Ric, Ric haven’t you figured it out yet? I used you. When I came to WCW it was to exact revenge on Randy Savage. I used you to do just that; taking the world title from Savage, spending all of his money and allowing you to flaunt me around as your arm piece. But, you never mattered to me at all. Ric, I was never attracted to you..I was just interested in hurting Randy. And, to be honest, riding space mountain – a VERY short ride at that – made me physically ill.

But that was the past…Randy Savage is gone. Ric Flair is on the shelf and what’s left? What is left is I get to make MY decisions now. I get to make MY choices, do what *I* want and be with whomever I want. And I choose The Franchise Shane Douglas. And together, we will rise to the top of WCW, we will grab all the money, all the gold, and all the glory. Because that is what *I* want and what *I* need and Shane will satisfy all of my needs.”

From the crowd jumps Chris Benoit who charges into the ring and immediately attacks Douglas. They brawl in the ring while Elizabeth fumbles for her purse. She pulls a bottle from her purse, runs over and sprays it into Benoit’s eyes. He immediately drops and rolls around the ring and Douglas grabs him, drops him with a piledriver, and stands over Benoit’s body kissing Elizabeth before the two laugh and walk out while Nitro goes to commercial looking at the fallen body of Chris Benoit. ]

Match #4: The Hardys vs Christian York & Joey Matthews

Tony tells us that still to come is the main event – a Philadelphia lucha match for the WCW Cruiserweight Title between Psychosis and WCW Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio Jr. We are told that at Uncensored, there will be a Cruiserweight battle royal to determine a new #1 contender for the title and that person will face the Cruiserweight champion, either Psychosis or Rey, later on that night in New York.

As he is telling us this, someone breaks into his ear, and he relays the message that he has been told that we have to take a quick commercial break but that the nWo has sent in a rebuttal to JJ Dillion. We are told we will air that rebuttal when we come back to Nitro – stay with us.

[A video plays, in black and white, showing Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx, and Eric Bischoff at a bar. The table it littered with empty beers and the four of them are playing cards with Hall dealing. Nash says it appears that JJ Dillon has a learning disability because after seeing what they did to WCW employees last week he actually wants to be in the same ring as them.

Unfortunately nobody tells the nWo what to do so they’ll take a pass tonight, but if JJ really wants to push his luck, Nash hears that Arn Anderson has an empty bed in his hospital room so they can be roomies and relive the glory days…if their dementia hasn’t kicked in already.

The others find this hilarious as Bischoff leads off the betting. Syxx is very happy with his hand but covers it up when the camera swings around behind him. Hall pushes his money into the center of the table. Bischoff and Syxx fold while Nash calls. Nash says he has four horsemen and shows cards with the Horsemen insignia before reaching for the pot but Hall stops him and says he’s got three of a kind and shows three cards labeled N, W, and O. They all congratulate Hall, admitting nothing in the world can beat that.]

[Chris Jericho is at the Nitro set with Mean Gene. Gene tells us that Jericho requested this time and Jericho says he did request it and he did so for a reason. Jericho says lets get something straight - Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko arent the only people in the back that love and respect Arn Anderson. Ric Flair isnt the only person around here that loves and respects Arn Anderson.

Chris Jericho loves and respects AA and what happened last night to a good man is unforgivable. And the nWo can sit at a bar cracking as many jokes as they want but the fact is that what they did was cowardly and it makes them little bitches. Do they have a problem with their manhood being mocked? Good, prove it.

Next week on Nitro Chris Jericho will be there and hes asking for a fight. It doesn't matter whether its Kevin Nash, or Scott Hall or that little rat, Syxx. One of them had better stand up, man up, find their balls and accept the challenge. Or..just be a punk ass coward.

The choice is theirs..Jericho is waiting.

[Nitro returns and the officers are still surrounding the area and they are looking out into the crowd as if they are prepared for an ambush. James J Dillon comes out without security and he pauses half way and points to the back. Diamond Dallas Page and Bret Hart come out to wild applause. The three head to the ring and as soon as they step onto the apron, lightening sounds strike the arena as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sting repels from the heavens.

He touches down in the ring and hands Page and Hart bats with all three scanning the crowd on the hunt just in case. JJ speaks:

“As you can see, I have plenty of back up here tonight and WCW is well prepared for any repeat of what happened last week at SuperBrawl and on Nitro. As I said at the top of the show, we thought long and hard as an executive committee how to address the vicious and unjustified assault on WCW’s employees, not wrestlers, by the cowards in the nWo.

You see these police? We thought about making them a permanent staple here on Nitro just in case, God forbid, Hall, Nash and Syxx decide to assault fans next. We thought about going to court to have an injunction to bar them from ever coming into a WCW ring again. We thought about having Ted Turner himself buy out their nWo contracts just so that we could fire them and send them back to the gutter that they came from, that’s an idea that I liked by the way.

But, then I spoke with Arn Anderson. Arn said that he may be hurt but he is still a man and believe me AA is all man, and men fight. I spoke with these three right behind me and they all indicated what they most wanted was blood. They most wanted to rip some skin off of some bodies. They wanted to cause some black eyes, some busted limbs…they want a fight. And a fight we’ll give them.

In honor of Arn Anderson and everyone who has had enough, if the nWo wants to start a fight – WCW will finish it. In 19 days we have a pay per view coming to New York City. It is, as you all know by now, a night where anything can happen. It’s a night where the gloves come off and knives come out. It truly is an Uncensored night and so, on that night, in the main event a fight will happen. And nWo I want you to listen closely because here is your fate:

Scott Hall, Syxx and Kevin Nash , you will fight Diamond Dallas Page, Bret “Hitman Hart” and WCW Champion Sting in a six man New York City Street Fight.

Come as you are, bring whatever weapons you want, but be prepared to fight because on that night WCW is taking a piece of your ass. We’ll see you there.”

As he finishes, Page and Hart go outside the ring. Page grabs a large metal garbage can from under the ring and Hart has what appears to be gasoline and a long lighter. They go back into the ring where Sting is holding a nWo shirt. Hart douses the metal garbage can with gas and hands the lighter to Sting who lights the shirt. They throw it into the trash can and it immediately engulfs in flames.

The camera pans in to the shirt burning, the symbolic message sent, as Monday Nitro goes off the air.]

Shawn Michaels and Triple H are seated in front of the camera with Chyna standing behind them with her arms folded. The picture is in black and white. Michaels begins to say that this coming Saturday but he stops. They look confused with Triple H asking what happened. Michaels gets up and approaches the camera before smacking it on the side, suddenly the picture turns to color. Michaels says that’s better and Triple H quips that at least they can afford color.

Michaels continues where he left off saying that this Saturday night Triple H will add more gold to D-Generation X when he finally shuts up that loudmouth trailer park reject that everyone is sooooo afraid of. Well nothing scares Triple H, nothing scares the Heartbreak Kid, and nothing is going to stop what he does to Owen Hart at WrestleMania if Hart has the guts to limp into Saturday Night’s Main Event and put his name on the dotted line.

Triple H finishes the segment by telling Austin that come Saturday night his ass belongs to Triple H!

Faarooq is all business from the opening bell, or just before it when he attacks Chainz before the belll. Every time Chainz seems to find some momentum a member of the Nation at ringside manages to distract him allowing Faarooq to regain control. After a couple minutes of this, Faarooq puts Chainz away with a Dominator.

Faarooq gets on the mic and says that he’s being held down by the man. He was the first black heavyweight champion in wrestling history and now he can’t even get a title opportunity. It’s a racist conspiracy and if he has to beat it out of someone he’s going to make his presence felt!

Suddenly he’s interupted by the European Champion, Mankind who says if its an opportunity Faarooq wants he’s happy to oblige. He doesn’t have anything going on this Saturday Night so if he wants a title match he can fight for this one.

Faarooq grins, pointing at Mankind and tells him ‘they’ will see him on Saturday Night.

The cameras catch Vince McMahon along with Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco out in the parking lot. McMahon looks very anxious as he waits for someone.

A vignette is shown in which the screen is black but we hear a noise like a hospital heart monitor. It begins to beep faster and faster and suddenly two sets of eyes open, their pupils very bright like flashlights.

As the eyes fade into the black, red words appear.

“The Awakening is almost here.”

Newcomer Simon Landry is walking backstage when Vader runs into him, almost knocking him over. Vader demands he apologize but Landry says he didn’t do anything. Vader says that if he give respect he’ll beat it out of him---this Satuday night. He’s going to end Landry’s career before it ever begins. As Vader storms off, Landry looks panicked.

With Marlena smoking at ringside Goldust employs mind games against Ahmed to begin the match, infuriating the bigger man which leads to a chase around the ring, with Goldust sliding in, and dropping an elbow on the back of Ahmed’s head when he slid back in the ring. Goldust continues to control the match, keeping Ahmed on the defense. Ahmed finds his footing though and begins to overpower Goldust. As the referee forces Ahmed away from a cowering Goldust in the corner, Marlena hands him her cigar and when Ahmed pushes his way past the referee Goldust appears to jab him in the eye with the cigar before dropping it allowing Marlena to pick it up as Goldust makes the cover and Ahmed is more concerned holding his face to kick out.

A replay is shown of Shawn Michaels’ attack on Owen Hart in which Hart’s leg was reportedly badly injured.

We’re shown a video of something that occurred earlier today as Jim Cornette arrives to the building. He parks his car and gets out with his suitcase and tennis racket but when he turns, he’s face to face with a trio of people.

Cornette is up against his car begging for them to leave him alone when someone else pushes through them.

Heyman says he wants to congratulate Cornette, he outsmarted Heyman by bringing in Tommy Rich and Heyman never saw it coming. That said, there is no denying that he hates Cornette and the feeling is mutual so Heyman has one more challenge. Heyman is challenging the NWA to one more match, winner takes all at WrestleMania 14. The question is, does Jim Cornette have the balls to bet on tradition because Heyman will bet everything he owns on ECW.

Pushed to his limit and pride Cornette barks out that he accepts. It’ll be four on four. Heyman says oh no, it’ll be five on five and he can’t wait until he gets in that ring and teaches Cornette the meaning of…..extreme!

The camera which is covering Vince McMahon and his cohorts as they wait catches sight of Stone Cold Steve Austin as he arrives at the building. Austin looks very angry and enters the building without comment though he does flip off the camera as he passes.

Newcomer Billy Smalls lasts mere seconds against Kane. As soon as the bell rings he makes a fatal mistake and charges Kane hitting him with a clothesline but Kane doesn’t even flinch. Smalls looks up slowly and Kane scoops him up and delivers a Tombstone for the win.

Paul Bearer collects a microphone and begins to talk about how the Undertaker is a coward. Afraid to face his brother, afraid to…….

The arena goes dark as the Titantron flickers to life showing the Undertaker standing in a cemetery next to an open grave. He says that he never wanted it to come to this. He never wanted to fight his brother. But after what Kane did at No Way Out he has come to a realization as cold as the grave. Kane is not his brother, he is nothing but a demon straight from the bowels of hell and the only way to stop him is put him six feet under and send him back to the lake of fire. Then, and only then, will Kane rest…in….peace. The Undertaker begins to fill in the grave shovel by shovel.

We hear Marc Mero talking to someone. He tells them they’re beautiful, sexy, the best looking individual on the planet. It’s then the camera sees Mero is talking to himself in the mirror as Sable sits on the couch looking bored. Mero keeps up his self-praise as Sable rolls her eyes.

The match is even througout the early going but the Impact Players slowly begin isolating Hawk in the corner. They work him over but he eventually breaks loose and makes the tag to Animal who begins to clean house. Sunny climbs onto the apron to distract Animal and slaps him. This allows Credible to hit a running knee in his back. It doesn’t help Credible keep the momentum long however, as Animal reverses an Irish Whip and hits a powerslam. He makes the tag to Hawk and puts Credible up on his shoulders for the Doomsday Device and the 123.

As the LOD celebrates and walks back up the aisle they’re met by an unexpected face.

Rude approaches the men, saying that they know him better than anyone in the business and they know what he can do for them. Hawk and Animal look at each other before they both shake their heads and walk past Rude who looks embarrassed and pissed.

Backstage we see the limo pull up and McMahon virtually runs over as the window goes down but we can’t see who’s in it. McMahon sticks his hand in the window, shaking hands with someone as he says how happy he is to see them and how big this is for the WWF. McMahon says for the person to come with him and its then the camera shot ends as the door opens.

JR and the King run down the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event this Saturday night.

Triple H takes Henry way too casually early on and Henry makes him pay for it with a few gorilla presses and just muscling Triple H out of the ring. It takes an old fashioned eye poke to allow Triple H to take control and when he does he begins chopping Henry down, focusing on his right knee to take away his power base. Following a kneedrop from the second rope Triple H goes for a cover but Henry kicks out, and in the process throws him through the ropes. As Triple H is getting himself back together we hear glass break and when Triple H turns, Steve Austin is sprinting down to the ring and hits a Thesz Press, raining down right hands as the referee calls for the bell.

Winner by Disqualification: Triple H

As the bell continues to ring, they both are at each other. Chyna tries to get involved but as she charges in, Austin backdrops her on the ringside mat. Austin and Triple H begin trading punches and fight up the ramp. Suddenly security and officials run out and separate them, holding them apart as they both toss verbal insults and colorful language at each other.

It's then that Vince McMahon comes out on the stage. He says he won't have his main event ruined for this Saturday and he also won't allow for outside interference. So he's here to tell Austin and Triple H that their Intercontinental Championship match will be contested inside a steel cage. And further, to ensure no interference and that we have a clear winner there will be a special outside enforcer. And only one man can handle this job. He's the baddest man on the planet.....Iron..Mike...Tyson.

Tyson comes out, shaking hands with Vince and waving to the crowd with a big smile as Austin and Triple H exchange surprised glances and staring back at the boss and Tyson.

He’s fighting for his life when the crowd begins to boo and we see the Rock slide into the ring and begin attacking Mankind causing a disqualification. When he reaches ten he calls for the bell and as the Godwinns realize they’ve lost the Outlaws run away backstage with the Godwinns giving chase. The Outlaws quickly roll up their windows and taunt the Godwinns butt then the Godwinns notice something and the Outlaws look up at their sunroof. Henry goes back to the truck and brings back two buckets. Gunn is frantically trying to close the window but it won’t work. The Godwinns nod to each other and pour two buckets of slop down onto the Outlaws who both look like they want to throw up. The Godwinns leave the scene with the Outlaws dry heaving in the car. Mero says that he’s out there to show the people what they’ve come to see. He teases opening the robe but stops and begins lecturing the crowd on what it takes to look like him. Meanwhile Sable peels off the t-shirt to expose a black lace bra. The crowd erupts but Mero is telling them to settle down and listen. Sable then loses the sweat pants to show a matching pair of panties. The crowd is on fire and Mero just shakes his head and chuckles. As he turns to Sable he begins to ask her if she can believe it but all he can do is choke out ‘Wha….what are you doing?” He whips off his robe and covers her but she doesn’t look happy about it as Mero forces her out of the ring and takes her backstage to the crowd’s boos. Hart stands with some effort and bends over to sign the contract and as soon as he’s done, Michaels moves in with some Sweet Chin Music but Hart expected it and swings his crutch catching Michaels in the knee. As Michaels falls holding his leg, Hart flips the table over on top of him and its clear he never needed the crutches. He yanks Michaels out from under the table by the legs and puts him in the Sharpshooter. Michaels is frantically tapping out but Hart is finally all smiles. As Triple H and Chyna run down, Hart escapes through the crowd with a spring in his step. Ross questions if it’s actually the champion with a bum wheel going into WrestleMania. Next comes Austin and the place loses its mind as he stomps down to the ring and stops to smack talk Tyson a little who takes it in stride with a smile. Once the bell rings and the cage door closes its all business. Austin controls the early moments, keeping Triple H on the defense and even makes a climb up the cage but Triple H catches up to him and brings him back down into the ring where it’s Austin’s turn for some punishment. Triple H is the first to use the cage to his advantage, ramming Austin into it twice. Triple H begins to climb and gets to the top before Austin gets ahold of him and brings him back down to the turnbuckles where he bangs Triple H’s head off the cage and watches him tumble in. About this time Chyna tries to get into the cage but Tyson stops her, and the two exchange heated words before she backs down. Austin from his vantage point begins to climb the cage but so does Chyna and when they meet at the top it’s the 9th Wonder of the World who hits Austin with a clubbing forearm and he falls, crotching himself on the ropes in the process. Triple H pulls himself up and hits a running shoulder tackle into Austin, smashing him into the cage. After a few more minutes of working him over, Triple H goes for a Pedigree but Austin reverses into a backdrop. Austin bounds off the ropes with a series of clotheslines, flooring Triple H. At this point Chyna begins to climb the cage again but as she’s half way up Austin throws Triple H into the cage, knocking her down to the ground. Triple H bounces off the cage right into a boot in the stomach and a Stone Cold Stunner as the crowd goes insane. Austin motions to the cage door and Tyson opens it as asked. Austin takes one last look at Triple H who’s down in the ring flat on his back as he begins to exit the cage but when he turns back….. WHACK! Tyson swings the cage door into Austin’s head with a sickening thud, sending him toppling backwards and landing in an unmoving heap. Chyna, pulling herself up in time to see this hurries as fast as she can to the door which remains open and enters the cage, dragging Triple H by the arm back to the door and eventually pulls him out to the floor as the bell rings. First with Chris Jericho, who we will get to in a second, and secondly with the announcement that at Uncensored Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Syxxx will take on Stink, DDMe and Mr. Personality himself - Bret "the snoozefest" Hart. Ooooh, we're so scared. Listen up WCW, the Wolfpac accepts the match because in New York City - the hometown of the Wolfpac by the way - we will finally rid the world of WCW's heart and soul. But, just in case there is any retribution plans by WCW, we have a BIG surprise for WCW. That surprise will be revealed next week from Panama City Beach so stay tuned. Now that brings us to now. Unfortunately something happened just before Nitro went on the air and Chris Jericho appeared to be in a state of jeopardy. Well, a phone call was placed to a hospital and turns out Chris Jericho never even went to the hospital. *Bischoff shrugs* that must mean he is already back in the building. So, as far as we are concerned, the challenge is still on - the match is still on - and it is time for your Nitro main event. Introducing the member of the Wolfpac to accept the challenge, he is tough, he is vicious, the girls say he is delicious, and he will kill your Buzz - ladies and gentlemen the Larry Flynt of the Wolfpac - SYXXX! Syxxx (now stylized with a 3rd x) comes out with Nash and Hall and some models on his arm who are literally feeding him grapes as he walks down to the ring. Syxxx is scared shitless and Nash and Hall simply hop over the railings and run for the hills. Syxxx goes to attack Sting but Sting blasts him in the stomach with the bat and throws him over the ropes. Bischoff is cornered and thrown into the ring by Page and Hart. Syxxx has bailed through the fans now too. Bischoff pleads and begs but he is hit in the stomach with the bat, bent over backwards and dropped with the Scorpion Death Drop as the crowd comes to life. Page, Bret and Sting point their bats at Hall, Nash & Syxxx who are in the crowd and look deathly afraid as Nitro goes off the air. ] Grade: 100 Final Overall Grade: 83
