<p>Review of Way of the Jester</p><p> </p><p> I'm going to hold off on the card for Way of the Warrior 2017 until tomorrow as each match will get its own brief write-up, similar to last year's preview.</p><p> </p><p> As for Way of the Jester, I was happy to see two people get the draw in the #1 Contenders match correct. I guess my booking is pretty see-through. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Congrats to KnowYourEnemy, Dr_Avalanche and Theheel on getting perfect scores for this show! Because Dr_Avalanche and Theheel correctly predicted that the #1 Contenders match would be a draw, I'm giving them a bonus point, </p><p> </p><p> I figured if you pick a winner in a match that ends in a draw, there is no downside, but if you pick a draw in a match with a winner, you can't get a perfect score, so this way, it's like a double or nothing gamble in picking a draw.</p><p> </p><p> It will be interesting to see how people predict Way of the Warrior, as I'm expecting there not to be a lot of consensus throughout the card. The pace of the feud would probably have been Edwards beats Feather to set up a match with Spider anyway, but this might have just been a DQ loss if it wasn't for Trevor being late for the show. His behavior getting worse after Massey's stern warning didn't help either, which is a shame because Feather was starting to be looked at for a push in 2018.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Theheel" data-cite="Theheel" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <strong>In the Somebody’s gotta win II battle I guess I’ll take the suddenly hot Rowdy Rob. A DQ win against Azazel might as well be a loss for an upper midcarder like Zero, and having Vertigo come to ringside to attack Molly would have had to make the post-match segment be a brawl between him and Zero. Plenty of time left in the feud for those kind of extra-curriculars. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> ZEN Master #1 Contender Match</p><p> Cyanide <strong>vs</strong> Halloween Knight</p><p> </p><p> <em>Going out on a limb here. As Massey will write in the Way of the Warrior preview, HK vs Cyanide and Devilfish vs McKenzie were supposed to be the co-main events of Way of the Warrior. When Mac left, I had a hole in the show. I could've quickly elevated someone to face Devilfish, but that would involve a lot of moving parts. The simplest thing to do was take the HK/Cyanide match and insert Devilfish.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="HiPlus" data-cite="HiPlus" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <strong>One Night Only – For the ZEN Master Title</strong></p><p> <strong>Devilfish ©</strong> vs Lone Shark</p><p> </p><p> A decent match to help further legitimise Devilfish as one of the best ZEN has to offer.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Spot on. This was a convenient way of giving Devilfish a clean win against someone I didn't have to protect while also not hurting the momentum of any of the main eventers going into Way of the Warrior. Lone Shark was also more popular than Devilfish in New Zealand at this point, so it was also a nice way to leech off some of that overness. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="DAVEFAN95" data-cite="DAVEFAN95" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>One night only you say? Devilfish retains then. Unless theres an elaborate twist in the tail, and maybe there is, with Lone Shark becoming Sean Quartermaine's new client and he wins the belt, or even Shark wins it just for Cyanide to ask for his title shot right now and win to make sure Shark doesn't leave with the belt which in turn, turns Cyanide face but Devilfish worked too hard and took too much of a beating for him to just drop the belt in a "Special Attraction" match.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Oh man, that would have been the ZEN swerve for all-time if Shark had turned heel and aligned with Quartermainne. I'm kind of mad I didn't think of it myself. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> But alas, I'm trying to keep the new signings to a minimum (Dexter Mattell being the exception) to focus on the wrestlers ZEN already has. If ever there came a time where Devilfish needed a partner, then Lone Shark would be a natural teammate to bring in. Maybe then I could do the shock heel turn. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>I have to admit I read the latest match results when I first got up this morning. I was reading the opening about the Guru going what the heck did I miss. So I just finished reading through the dynasty so far and I have to say you've done some tremendous work. ZEN have a special place in my heart since they were the first promotion I played in TEW, and your game is making me want to revisit them; though I'll probably refrain since I don't think I could come up with anything as entertaining or creative as what you're doing in this diary.

The Guru Vishni tribute was very well done. Some might consider the sneak attack at the end to be in poor taste, but considering the Guru's career in ZEN I think it's how he would have wanted it to happen.

I'm happy the Big Mac angle ended in the way it did. I know match quality wise it was the best Zen has even seen, but having someone crap all over ZEN for so long without getting comeuppance could end up with the New World Order situation where the fans became conditioned to think WCW (or in this case) sucked. Thankfully Big Mac is far more of a professional than Hulk Hogan, and the crowning of Devilfish as champion and company hero went as well as it possibly could have.

I look forward to seeing what's to come, though I have to admit I'm a bit saddened you have a set end-date for the diary. I wouldn't mind it just continuing on indefinitely. :p

Mr Wolf has done an amazing job with this dairy and his “Dark Phoenix” diary that he is/was planning (hopefully) to go back too. You should look that one up as well

But he has done a great job writing this dynasty with another group that I was unfamiliar with and made it a very entertaining read. Mr Wolf you are very good at the storytelling, you should go to work with WWE, they need desperate help

Card for Way of the Warrior 2017

<div style="border: solid 5px #000000;">

ZEN Way of the Warrior 2017

r2aVvt9.jpg

It’s time for ZEN’s biggest show of the year. As opposed to last season, I had the full year to lead up to this one, and I think I did a pretty good job considering we lost half of the main event three months ago, and someone who was supposed to part of the key undercard match decided to go and get herself preggers instead.

<div style="border: solid 5px #8B0000;">

Last Person Standing Match

Kalliope Woodchuck vs Shaolin

IYTBAhW.jpgRWTILz0.png?1vf3cqnw.jpg

Speaking of that, this match was originally planned for Way of the Jester. Kalliope then would have answered Damian’s open challenging, setting her up to win the Conceptual title and be crowned the next big thing in the company.

So now it gets to open Way of the Warrior, which is still a pretty plum spot. The real key is how we book around Woodchuck’s baby bump now that she’s four months in her pregnancy. I have an idea, and there’s about no one I trust more to work safe than Shaolin.

rjjvkyF.jpgrjjvkyF.jpg

It’s still weird watching Warp-Jump wrestle without Guru being at ringside. I suppose that’s why they say the show must go on.

I am actually really looking forward to what these eight guys can do in this match. A couple have already come to me with some ideas for crazy spots, and this feels like the right time and place to have those.

This is also a dark horse for match of the night if everything clicks, especially considering every single wrestler involved is capable of stealing the show.

</div>

<div style="border: solid 5px #8B0000;">

Tuxedo Match

Pink Spider w/ Trevor Feather vs ‘Rowdy’ Rob Edwards

CzY0T5v.jpgRWTILz0.png?1f2QFPwl.jpg

Well, it wouldn’t be ZEN without a comedy match, so that’s where this one comes into play. Spider probably deserves better, but at least he gets to be on the card.

As for Edwards, I’m not sure how he’ll be at getting laughs, so I have my fingers crossed. It’d be nice if he can add comedy to his repertoire, but I’m not holding my breath.

</div>

<div style="border: solid 5px #8B0000;">

Sky Kings Explode!

Super Zero w/ Molly Cuddle vs Vertigo

OjM2wyB.jpgRWTILz0.png?1fDaOeX8.jpg

This one actually has some nice build-up, so pat on the back for me. Vertigo really got to slow burn his turn, but now that it’s happened, he’s diving into his new character head first. Definitely not what I expected, but I do suppose he’s getting to act more like he is in real life now.

As opposed to a lot of the other matches on the card, this isn’t necessarily a culmination of a story arc, but rather a continuing step in a journey. Both of these guys can go, so I could tell them to try and steal the show, but I’m thinking I’ll save that for the next match.

Damian Dastardly © vs Dexter Mattell

Oh yes, Damian gets the pre-main event slot. It feels like the right reward for him. After all, he’s been working his butt off the last year and a half.

Dexter is our big signing for the year, at least in-ring-wise. This might be too much too soon putting him in this spot, but I have big hopes for him. APW never really gave him much of a chance, but being a fellow Kiwi, I see him doing well for us.

Three-Way Elimination Match for the ZEN Master Title

Cyanide vs Devilfish © vs Halloween Knight

4vZV2lN.jpgRWTILz0.png?18wi7YX3.jpgRWTILz0.png?1cKPymkL.jpg

IyMePxX.jpg

My preference for Way of the Warrior main events has always been one-on-one match-ups, but Mac leaving on short notice put me in a bit of a bind.

The original plan for this event was to have Devilfish vs McKenzie and Cyanide vs HK in a Hall of Mirrors match be the co-main events. When pressed, it seemed like combining the two seemed the logical way to go with Mac out of the picture.

That means the story between Cyanide and HK has to carry the build, but I don’t expect Devilfish to let himself be overshadowed by that drama. This one probably won’t top anything from the trilogy between Mac and the Man in the Multi-Colored Mask, but it feels like a good way to close out the season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Real quick I love the Dexter signing, another guy I have had on the roster but never really utilised so it will be nice to see him work.

I have a fetish for technical workers, and Dexter definitely fits that mold. The 'Raw Sex Dex' character is still one I'm trying to figure out how exactly I am going to portray within the confines of ZEN's family friendly purpose. There'll probably be an interlude coming up about that. I will let everyone be the judge, however, on how successful or unsuccessful this signing was at the end of the diary. ;)

I have to admit I read the latest match results when I first got up this morning. I was reading the opening about the Guru going what the heck did I miss. I went back to the last card and then the announcement of this card to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I guess when I was reading that it was a “tribute” match that it was like Capt Jack Sparrow and expecting tribute.

So when I said the Guru would pull out all stops in making his heels win, I didn’t literally mean all stops including dying. I have read things on these boards off and on (more off than on prior to this year) and I haven’t come across a performer in a diary dying mid story.

Haha, it's all good. I tried to have the alluding to Guru's death be subtle with Massey's interlude and then the posting of the card. I did debate calling the match a Memorial match instead of Tribute, but the former felt like it would have to be an annual occurence.

It was quite a shock when Guru died. I don't think I even had 'Kenny' deaths on, so the message from the game was just he died unexpectidly at age 40 (same with the other two wrestlers that passed away). It's the first time that's happen to me in-game as well, and it was weird how sad I was about it.

In terms of booking, it does change some of the mechanics of what I had planned, but honestly, I really didn't care about that when it happened as I felt it disrespectful to an imaginary character. :)

I look forward to seeing what's to come, though I have to admit I'm a bit saddened you have a set end-date for the diary. I wouldn't mind it just continuing on indefinitely. :p

Thank you for the kind words!

BSC was the first company I played in TEW, and it has a similar special place in my heart because of that (funny how that works). I think it's a credit to the game for creating such vibrant and varied characters with just simple pictures and descriptions.

I'm glad the Guru tribute came across well, including the post-match attack. Vishni being a career heel, I picture him watching the match and telepathically telling Warp-Jump they better get their heel heat back.

With Big Mac, you're right that it went about about as well as I could have hoped for when I conceived of the storyline. The plan, once I settled on Devilfish over Pumpkin Jack, was for Devilfish to win the title at this Way of the Warrior. There's a good chance that Mac would eventually turn face to feud with Quartermainne by the end of this diary, but I agree that the 'ZEN is garbage' contingent needed to get its comeuppance as the climax for the arc.

Haha, I don't know about that. I don't think I have the stomach for the backstage politics in WWE that dwarf anything we could possible imagine anyway. But I appreciate it (funny thing is I wanted to be a writer when I graduated high school. I guess this is a good way to scratch that itch). :D

The plan is still to go back to DPW after ZEN wraps up (six shows to go!). There is a particular moment in DPW that is in my head that I just feel like I have to write, so it may just mean one more season of that company to wrap things up. As will become somewhat apparent as those next six shows unfold, I only planned everything out through the end of 2017, so the booking becomes hyper-focused on a few key feuds. Everyone else kind of just falls through the cracks. I do have had some ideas on how things would continue, but whether or not that would involve Massey is something I've toyed with.

Last Person Standing Match

Kalliope Woodchuck vs Shaolin

I would give this to Shaolin as this is a way to write off Kalliope from our screens. However if she is being used up until her pregnancy essentially then I think she gets the win here and gets written off in an angle/post-match to avoid hurting her pop.

Four-Way Ladder Match for the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles

Auckland’s Finest vs The Knights Temple © vs Man O’Lantern vs Warp-Jump

Without Guru around, I wonder if the Knights will lose their suits now. Either way Knights and Man o'Lantern are well and truly above the other two teams so I expect the winner to come from one of them. Man O'Lantern could be the next team to carry the tag-team division and this could give TKT a chance to get a shot at singles runs.

Tuxedo Match

Pink Spider w/ Trevor Feather vs ‘Rowdy’ Rob Edwards

Seems like you are down on Rowdy for this match, and it is the beginning of a feud so the face needs a reason to chase the heels.

Sky Kings Explode! (not featuring actual explosions)

Super Zero w/ Molly Cuddle vs Vertigo

This should be the blow of match, and should end up with Zero going over as Massey does have a dislike of Vertigo.

For the ZEN Conceptual Title

Damian Dastardly © vs Dexter Mattell

While it is probably to soon, a shock loss for Damian and he can move into the ZEN Master Title Hunt.

Three-Way Elimination Match for the ZEN Master Title

Cyanide vs Devilfish © vs Halloween Knight

Going Devilfish here, just purely because without the title he doesn't have any story line going on. I think if Cyanide or HK win then they would continue their feud with one another, essentially leaving Devilfish out in the cold storyline wise. Devilfish retains to help keep him or establish him in a story. (Hopefully with Damian dropping that is where the ZEN title heads.)

Also this card is so tight, it has so many possibilities, and I expect the majority of votes to be really divided.

I actually haven't had the chance to read your DPW Diary yet, but will try to catch up with it when you continue posting it. I actually wouldn't mind seeing you tackle some more Oceanic Companies just because I love the Australian scene and would love to see your take on different characters, and a different style of company.

<strong>Kalliope Woodchuck</strong> vs Shaolin</p><p> </p><p>

I'm torn on this match. Shaolin winning would be a good opportunity to write off Kalliope, but if you win a feud you generally move on to bigger and better things. Shaolin seems more like the type of guy who helps prepare younger guys for the next level, and if he's going to be feuding with say...Rowdy Rob, then he doesn't need to actually win this match.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Four-Way Ladder Match for the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles</span></em></p><p>

Auckland’s Finest vs <strong>The Knights Temple ©</strong> vs Man O’Lantern vs Warp-Jump</p><p> </p><p>

Again I'm torn. Pumpkin Jack is your #2 Babyface, so I don't really see him as a long term tag team guy, and if the Halloween Knight arc is headed in the direction I think it might (Mirror Universe Invasion?) then I see Devilfish, Pumpkin Jack, Man O'War, and I guess Cyanide if he's actually turning face having to team up to stop Halloween Knight's forces.</p><p> </p><p>

As for the heels, I just don't see it happening until another credible face team emerges. If there is one criticism I can have for Mister Massey's booking it's that he could have really done with assembling another midcard face tag team. If this wasn't all written out in advance I might suggest looking at signing some combination of Black Flash, Quick Silver, and/or White Wasp as a tag team; maybe have them in a kind of Super Friends stable with Man O'War since none of them can really cut a promo.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><em>Tuxedo Match</em></span></p><p>

<strong>Pink Spider w/ Trevor Feather </strong>vs ‘Rowdy’ Rob Edwards</p><p> </p><p>

I know you want to push Rowdy, but even if your planning on having him be the one to dethrone Dastardly I'd still expect this program to last a little longer. Plus this is the kind of match where the heels can win on a fluke without really hurting the face.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><em>Sky Kings Explode! (not featuring actual explosions)</em></span></p><p>

Super Zero w/ Molly Cuddle vs <strong>Vertigo</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I know you hate Vertigo, and having played ZEN I sympathize, but I think this match will end in a cheap heel win to get the fans to really want to see Vertigo get his. From what I recall Vertigo wasn't nearly as talented in TEW 2010, so it was a lot easier just to fire him.</p><p> </p><p>

I do hope that the final match in their feud with feature some actual explosions. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">For the ZEN Conceptual Title</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Damian Dastardly ©</strong> vs Dexter Mattell</p><p> </p><p>

Since you were originally planning on having Dastardly drop the title to Kalliope on this show I could see Dex winning, but with how much you've built up Damian and the Title I'm not sure you want to have it go to anyone who you haven't pegged as the next big star in ZEN. Though to be honest I'm not sure who aside from Kalliope fits that bill. Maybe SubUrban Legend, but he's tied up in the tag team ranks.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Three-Way Elimination Match for the ZEN Master Title</span></em></p><p>

Cyanide vs Devilfish © vs <strong>Halloween Knight</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Devilfish only won it recently so logic says he should retain, but part of me really wants to see JesterWeen Knight win the title and bring his plan to fruition. I'll go with my heart here.</p>

<strong>Kalliope Woodchuck</strong> vs Shaolin</p><p>

<em>Surely you write her off here, I do think she still wins but Shaolin hurts her in the aftermath, injuring her, letting her come back later for the big revenge match.</em></p><p>

Four-Way Ladder Match for the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles</p><p>

Auckland’s Finest vs <strong>The Knights Temple ©</strong> vs Man O’Lantern vs Warp-Jump</p><p>

<em>I pick the champs purely as I don't know who will win. Man O'Lantern are probably favourites but I think giving them the belts is such a waste of Pumpkin Jack who has fallen a long way, so I play it safe</em></p><p>

Tuxedo Match</p><p>

<strong>Pink Spider w/ Trevor Feather</strong> vs ‘Rowdy’ Rob Edwards</p><p>

<em>If Pink Spider loses, I riot.</em></p><p>

Sky Kings Explode! (not featuring actual explosions)</p><p>

<strong>Super Zero w/ Molly Cuddle</strong> vs Vertigo</p><p>

<em>Zero wins with a possible Molly Cuddle heel turn in the aftermath as she switches allegiances</em></p><p>

For the ZEN Conceptual Title</p><p>

<strong>Damian Dastardly ©</strong> vs Dexter Mattell</p><p>

<em>Not yet. I don't think giving Kalliope the win over Dastardly is the right choice either but I do think Dexter Mattell could beat the Dastardly one after a few attampts</em></p><p>

Three-Way Elimination Match for the ZEN Master Title</p><p>

Cyanide vs <strong>Devilfish ©</strong> vs Halloween Knight</p><p>

<em>Cyanide is a no, HK is a possibility but Devilfish losing this would be a weird one for me. Not because it seems bad or stupid I just feel there needs to be some kind of build up. Devilfish is an afterthought here as Cyanide and HK are the draw, they've been feuding, the champ is here for just that, being the champ. HK doesn't need the belt. Cyanide already is in a feud. Shows me Devilfish will more than likely retain, which I'll even be more confident in if Dastardly somehow loses</em></p>

Kalliope Woodchuck vs <strong>Shaolin</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Seems a solid way to get Kalliope out of the picture. Have Shaolin cheat to gain the advantage, brutal beatdown, kayfabe Kalliope is out for a year. Might as well give Shaolin the momentum of winning the feud. He's going to be around, Kalliope won't.</em></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

Four-Way Ladder Match for the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles</p><p>

Auckland’s Finest vs The Knights Temple © vs Man O’Lantern vs <strong>Warp-Jump</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Really no idea. Just my personal preference I like to see babyfaces win titles one on one with from the heels rather than pass them between each other, babyface team to babyface. If the Knights Temple *need* to drop the titles I could see putting them on Man O'Lantern, but I'll go with Warp-Jump here, then Man O'Lantern can go on to chase the titles.</em></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

Tuxedo Match</p><p>

Pink Spider w/ Trevor Feather vs <strong>‘Rowdy’ Rob Edwards</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>It just feels like the kind of ridiculous stipulation the heel should lose. </em></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

Sky Kings Explode! (not featuring actual explosions)</p><p>

<strong>Super Zero</strong> w/ Molly Cuddle vs Vertigo</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Super Zero should go victorious out of the feud, but if this is not the blow off match, Vertigo could well take it. </em></p><p><em>

<strong>Damian Dastardly ©</strong> vs Dexter Mattell</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Dastardly should never lose that title.</em></p><p><em>

</em></p><p>

Three-Way Elimination Match for the ZEN Master Title</p><p>

Cyanide vs <strong>Devilfish ©</strong> vs Halloween Knight</p><p> </p><p>

<em>I'm thinking Cyanide and Halloween Knight pretty much neutralize each other, allowing Devilfish to retain.</em></p>

Kalliope Woodchuck vs <strong>Shaolin</strong></p><p>

<strong>Part of me thinks Massey has such um respect for his young star that he might give her the win. But I will say that the only ninja in Zen goes over. Maybe tonight’s special guest star gets involved</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Four-Way Ladder Match for the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles</p><p>

Auckland’s Finest vs The Knights Temple © vs <strong>Man O’Lantern</strong> vs Warp-Jump</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Never thought we would see it but I think these two pull it out. I thought PJ would dump Man o War to go back to singles action but this seems to be his hitch now.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Tuxedo Match</p><p>

Pink Spider w/ Trevor Feather vs ‘<strong>Rowdy’ Rob Edwards</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rowdy Rob needs to get humiliated but it appears he gets a win in a match without beating someone</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Sky Kings Explode! (not featuring actual explosions)</p><p>

Super Zero w/ Molly Cuddle vs <strong>Vertigo</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The heel needs to win. We have had all this tease with Molly, will it pay off in anything or end up like Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin and Precious vs Kevin Sullivan</strong></p><p> </p><p>

For the ZEN Conceptual Title</p><p>

Damian Dastardly © vs <strong>Dexter Mattell</strong></p><p>

<strong>This one is taking lots of thought. I think this is the night that Miss Kalliope would have won the conceptual title. But with her “injury” she won’t be around to do so. Since there is no one on the Zen midcard roster that can hang with Mr Dastardly.....(will Massey pull the trigger and end the reign? He did it with an outsider before.....). I’m calling for a new champion. The people demand and more importantly I demand that Dastardly be brought into the main event </strong></p><p> </p><p>

Three-Way Elimination Match for the ZEN Master Title</p><p>

Cyanide vs <strong>Devilfish</strong> © vs Halloween Knight</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Going to say the champ retains here to send the crowd home happy. Plus it would eventually set up Dastardly taking his rightful place at the top of Zen beating Fishboy. </strong></p>

Pulling a table out from under the ring, Woodchuck leaned the plank against one of the barricades. After standing Shaolin up against the table, Kalliope ran a full lap around the outside of the ring to deliver her Around the Round dropkick to her rival. <p>Review of Way of the Warrior 2017</p><p> </p><p> First off, I wanted to say thank you to everyone for the Diary of the Month nominations and votes. It really is appreciated and I'm glad people are enjoying Massey's journey. It is also is a great motivator (for whatever reason, Way of the Warrior was the first show for ZEN where writing became like pulling teeth) so hopefully the end result was still decent.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="HiPlus" data-cite="HiPlus" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Also this card is so tight, it has so many possibilities, and I expect the majority of votes to be really divided.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Haha, thanks! I was pretty happy with how everything came together for the card. It helps that the roster and feuds are spread pretty evenly throughout the titles, main event scene and midcard. I've compacted the next round of story arcs to wrap up in December, so we'll see how the faster pace works out.</p><p> </p><p> You are correct that the predictions were divided, which resulted in no one getting a perfect score. It would be hard to do another Oceanic company just because I did become so attached to ZEN and its workers. MAW seems to stick out to me, as does ACPW. Shaolin seems more like the type of guy who helps prepare younger guys for the next level, and if he's going to be feuding with say...Rowdy Rob, then he doesn't need to actually win this match.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Spot on prediction and exactly what my thought process was when booking the match. Kalliope isn't going on maternity leave until after September's show, so I didn't feel pressured to write her off here. Plus, as you say, by winning this match, she wins the feud, and since she is going to come back eventually, it sets here up for bigger and better things when she does return. And your booking for Shaolin is scarily prescient. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="DAVEFAN95" data-cite="DAVEFAN95" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>Surely you write her off here, I do think she still wins but Shaolin hurts her in the aftermath, injuring her, letting her come back later for the big revenge match.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, this was the first 'go against expectations'/swerve booking of the night. My past booking would indicate a post-match beat down by the heel, so instead, Shaolin does the opposite. I could have gone with Warp-Jump, but going with Auckland's Finest felt like breathing some more fresh air into the tag division.</p><p> </p><p> I'm not surprised that out of the four teams, AF was the only one not to be picked to win by anyone because it's not like they've been racking up the wins lately (and actually lost in matches to all three of their opponents leading up to this match). But Autumn Gleeson, after she was released by RAW, was too good to pass up. She was the missing piece for them, a mouthpiece that also happens to be the most over person in the company now (by a full 20 points). Pairing AF with her and having them win here gives the signal that having Autumn as their manager matters, and was the difference in making them champions (at least I hope so).</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="HiPlus" data-cite="HiPlus" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Without Guru around, I wonder if the Knights will lose their suits now.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Good question! Both Quick Silver and Black Flash are wrestlers I've thought about signing if this diary were to continue, as is Moonchild. (Hopefully with Damian dropping that is where the ZEN title heads.)</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> As you and few others mentioned, Cyanide and HK have their own feud that is continuing, and it really doesn't need the belt to be effective. Since Devilfish was always supposed to win the belt from Mac at this show anyway, this brings the booking back to what it was going to be had McKenzie not left for RAW. Somewhat of a throwaway match in that sense, but it does give Devilfish a victory over HK, helping the ZEN Master pass the owner of ZEN in terms of popularity.</p><p> </p><p> As for the next show, I'm going to take the week off from writing as I'm anticipating being busy due to work/life. The next interlude and card for Way of the Liar will be up next Sunday, January 15. I hope everyone has a good week!</p>

<p>Wow you had me stumped most of the night. I got a couple right though.</p><p> </p><p>

Yeah I was one off on which match your special guest got involved in but having her team with Auckland’s Finest instantly gives the new tag champs not only the title but some cred. Before I was like no way they win but with the manager it totally fits and is believable.</p><p> </p><p>

I was surprised at the low grade of the Conceptual Title Match but not the outcome. Since I am president of the Dastardly fan club it is about time Massey pulled the trigger to move the man into the main event. Now maybe he should hav3 just thrown the pretend title in the pretend toilet might have been the way his fans would rather of seen him “moving on up”. Now to get him a Title Match. Maybe a match against maybe the biggest failure in Zen, ole Pumpkin Head Jack. Squash him and then Fishboy, your time is about to run out.</p><p> </p><p>

Nice show overall though, enjoy the week of busy work life</p>

Hopefully once he gets some momentum, things will start to trend up.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Theheel" data-cite="Theheel" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44258" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Nice show overall though, enjoy the week of busy work life</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thanks! <strong>No way the new champ loses here, but what change comes with his title win.....interesting</strong></p><p> </p><p>

For the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles</p><p>

<strong>Auckland's Finest © w/ Autumn Gleeson</strong> vs The Ghost Hunters</p><p>

<strong>So is Autumn Australia’s Missy Hyatt, Madusa or Tammy Sytch? Whoever she is, she gives the new champs the mojo they were so severely lacking. Now Zen has a classic heel tag team.</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Dazzler vs <strong>Pink Spider</strong> w/ Trevor Feather</p><p>

<strong>Dazzler is the Zen’s Disco Inferno and Pinky could use a win after losing to Rob who is missing from this card. Is the Rowdy One’s push already over</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Banky Bremner (debut) vs <strong>Vertigo</strong></p><p>

<strong>Banky Bremner huh....fails on the name test and so he will also fail in his debut. Not sure but if he is ever going to make it past enhancement talent he will need a name change and likely a mask</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Man O'Lantern</strong> vs Warp-Jump</p><p>

<strong>Well I sense this match is a #1 contender match for the tag titles (although not promoted as such). The champs are heels so I guess the right choice is for the face team to win, even if Pumpkin Head is a lost cause.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Why do I hate Pumpkin Jack so much?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Cage Classic Match</p><p>

Cyanide vs <strong>Halloween Knight</strong></p><p>

<strong>The boss must win. I feel for poor Cy though as Massey hasn’t exactly been kind to the previous booker with wins and losses</strong></p>

<em>Does Ferdy have a gimmick yet? Either way he's losing here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

For the ZEN Harmony Tag Team Titles</p><p>

<strong>Auckland's Finest © w/ Autumn Gleeson </strong>vs The Ghost Hunters</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Ghost Hunters are a real blast from the past. Surprised to see them getting another shot here to be honest, but I guess you don't want to wear out matches with your 2 face tag teams.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Dazzler vs<strong> Pink Spider w/ Trevor Feather</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>You mentioned you never really pushed Dazzler even though he could have been useful, so I'll have Spider win the comedy match.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Banky Bremner (debut) vs <strong>Vertigo</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Vertigo wins here, but I'm not really sure where you can go with Vertigo once his feud is over. Woman-beater gimmicks tend not to bode well for wrestlers careers.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Man O'Lantern </strong>vs Warp-Jump</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Don't see a compelling reason for Warp-Jump to win it here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Cage Classic Match</p><p>

<strong>Cyanide</strong> vs Halloween Knight</p><p> </p><p>

<em>50-50 guess for me as I'm unsure where this story is headed.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Sean Quartermainne has an announcement!</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Bonus title defense for Devilfish?</em></p>
