WMMA5 Small Questions Thread

<p>Free Pictures question</p><p> </p><p>

I'm just playing around with creating a database that starts in 1993 and will consist of completely new characters each start. So I have deleted all characters. Whilst playing, currently new characters have their images generated from the 'free pictures' file. </p><p> </p><p>

Does anyone know of a quicker way than individually adding each Default database image (that is now free as I've deleted Default characters) to the free picture file - to ensure that these now free images (James Foster, etc) can be used by my randomly generated characters?</p><p> </p><p>

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!</p>

I started up a new company in Australia, but I can't hire any announcers/commentators, presumably because no one available is Australian. Am I missing something here or why can't American/UK or anybody that can speak English be available for hire?

EDIT: I just went into the editor and changed some of the guys I was interested in so that they were available to work in Australia. Not a big deal I guess.

i have a database like this with almost 2500 pics added. you just have to change the start date tho, and adjust anything else you feel like changing of course. i can share it with you if you want.

Stupid question, but I just started. How do you make any profit when starting on rock hard? It just feels like I'm digging myself into massive debt.

You wont. You should hire unknowns and carefully manage them. The game imo isnt made for this ‘gamey’ mode and youvare better off with an easier setting.

I was thinking of trying a game where my weight classes were only about ten pounds apart except for the Heavyweights. I have two unnamed divisions I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for what to call them. I was really trying to avoid the Super title that is in boxing a lot. My divisions would look like

Heavyweight- 226-265

Light Heavyweight- 206-225

Unnamed- 196-205

Cruiserweight- 186-195

Middleweight- 176-185

Welterweight- 166-175

Unnamed- 156-165

Lightweight- 146-155

Featherweight- 136-145

Bantamweight- 126-135

Flyweight- 116-125

This was actually covered in real life last year...

I did that with my save in WMMA 3. I made 206-225 “middle heavyweights” I used it for big Light heavyweights and small heavyweights. I didn’t have the weight class below welterweight, although I like the idea.

Other option would be to move LHW and HW down, and make the top division Heftyweights <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.</p>

UI scaling and fullscreen mode for 2k res?

The game is set at 1366 x 768, and can be placed on any part of your screen.

It doesn't need fullscreen. It's a text sim with minimal graphics.

Put the window to the side, and watch WWE Network, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, whatever while playing.

Thank you for the advice, but have you seen the game in such a resolution? While I agree the fullscreen is not completely necessary (but is always welcome), I find the UI too small, isn't it? Can you imagine what it's like in 4k? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Speaking about a 27' monitor, I have to scale this forum's display to 200% via the browser, for example. Otherwise the font's too small, just like in the game. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Populating a weightclass</p><p> </p><p>

I am running an all-female org and trying to sign some strawweight. There aren't enough in the game so I went to settings to populate the weight class. I chose America, female, strawweight and spread for ability and experience and the game said there weren't enough available valid names. What happened? I've had no problems in the past populating other weight classes in previous games. (since deleted so shouldn't be a problem) Any ideas how to fix this/ Thanks</p>

<p>Dude, no one complains about the resolution. How about you actually download the demo and see for yourself?</p><p> </p><p>

A 2k resolution monitor isn't that big. I have a 1920x1200 17-inch monitor, smaller than your 27-inch monitor, and the TEXT IS NOT TOO SMALL! </p><p> </p><p>

Unless you are sitting 5 feet from your desk, or have eye problems, no one else has complained about the size of the text. People don't care if it's windowed, and many people, including myself, prefer it this way. </p><p> </p><p>

This is a very small team of a couple people making the overall game. They're not going to take the time scaling pictures and coding multiple resolutions to appease only a handful of people. I know nothing about making games, but I definitely don't think it's as simple as "Well just scale it..."</p><p> </p><p>

It's fine if it's a dealbreaker for you if you want the game larger, but it's not going to happen and there's not a whole lot to say about it.</p>

That is not something that is going to happen at this very late stage.</p>
