Blackman Posted October 30, 2019 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Out of curiosity: what do you guys think about the "low risk ginder" and "constant takedowns" attributes? I've mentioned this before, but it seems like the fighters almost get a bonus to the tkd stat (they don't) as the total success rate seems incredibly high. Only when they have 60-ish takedown skills does it sometimes fail against 80+ tkd-defense opponents. There is also no punishment to this obvious gameplan at all. I remember in WMMA4 there being counterpunches to takedowns. There's only the "knee to the face" counter leading to the follow-up g&p barrage, but it's a rare thing (as I think you need a succesful sprawl to trigger it). It doesn't bother me, given it's a nice tool to customize fighter behavior, but now that I see the stats it doesn't make sense to me. It's just that you should expect expert grapplers to get counter-takedowns in (upon closing the distance) or deep sprawls. Maybe it was the infamous Askren vs. Masvidal fight that made me realize that once you know something's gonna happen, it becomes easier to do something about it. If you hide your takedown attempts better like Khabib it just makes it even more difficult. I'm sure Woodley would agree. Blackman Posted November 8, 2019 Share Posted November 8, 2019 Seems I made a common mistake of assuming that the "takedown defense" stat in the stat screen is in fact the "STANDING takedown defense" stat. Is it possible for 1 Player to control multiple organizations? Like you indicate, you lose the ability to sim for multiple days. You can never control 2 orgs. What you can do is just play 1 massive org and LABEL the fighters as to which org they are in. That way you can book all events at once. I don't believe anyone ever tried, but it's doable on paper. That way the labels are being used. I've never heard of anyone ever using it. You only "lose" your icon and banner, but it's not like it makes a difference on gameplay. Any popularity loss after it emerged can be recovered manually. Honestly, though it's a huge impact, it will never bankrupt you so why bother? It's a choice you make to either let go or persevere. I've tried to match them up a couple times, and they understandably turn it down.</p><p> </p><p> However, I did a multi-night tournament and they ended up meeting in the finals. I went to book it (also for the MW belt) and they surprisingly accepted! What would've caused that? Is it that it's for the belt? That it's the final of a tournament and they knew this might happen? My user talents haven't changed at all, so it has to be other circumstances.</p><p> </p><p> (As an aside, pretty fun fight for my Low Level Regional company in 1997! Royce is 9-0, Renzo is 2-1. Both made it through the 8-man tournament to meet in the finals, they're cousins, and it's for the MW belt.
