WPW: A Vicious Tale

SOME TIME AGO (1 Hour to be exact)

In a small unnamed venue a small crowd is gathered watching the finish of a match at an tiny independent show. The main event showing the former MOSC star known as Bruiser getting a pin over fellow veteran Pigeon Mask. The small crowd cheers the big man on as his arm is raised in victory and goes to the back. He is just past the curtains when a few men surround him.

Bruiser: "The hell?"

???: "Come with us sir. Don't make us use a soccer ball."

Bruiser: "Well shit. You're serious I see. Uh, where are we going?"

NOW

Bruiser is soon let out of a car and ushered into a well furnished business office complete with ominously large chair behind the desk. It slowly turns about and the man reveals himself.

Mark Carnie's Scumbag of the Year Competitor

Ken Flanagan: "So nice of you to join us. I remember you from Men of Steel Combat and I have decided to choose you. I am going to start a wrestling company to wank off to and given your track record as a head booker for Men of-"

Bruiser: "That wasn't me. That was Harley Neill."

Ken Flanagan: "Wait, it was? Then who are you again? His tag partner yes?"

Bruiser: "No.....that was Danny Patterson. I am Bruiser. I tagged with Thug and won the tag titles four times and I won their main title once."

Ken Flanagan: "Hmm......good enough! You shall be my booker!"

Bruiser: "I am not too interested in....."

Bruiser looks to see many men wielding soccer balls in a menacing manner and he looks back to Ken.

Bruiser: "You got a deal."

Ken Flanagan: "Excellent! In a few days I will mail you a folder with all great talent you will have to work with. I made sure to get the best of the best."

Bruiser: "Well that can't be so bad."

Only it seems those words twist reality and the roster suddenly seems to change to make Bruiser regret those words.

ELSEWHERE

Jeff Amazon: I feel tingly.

THE NEXT DAY

Bruiser and Thug enjoying a few beers as Thug seems all too amused at the luck of his partner.

Thug: "I hear he is utter shit. You sure you are going to do it?"

Bruiser: "Don't have much choice. I am getting paid at least. I have no idea what to expect. Want to join up?"

Thug: "Hell no. I am going to retire I think. Maybe you can see if SNP would hire you and you can run away to there."

Bruiser: "I am not sure that is better? I mean it can't be that bad."

The world rumbles and shifts again.

Baz Smith: "My nipples got just got hard for some reason. Who wants to touch them?"

***

Thug: "If you say so. When you finding out about the roster?"

Bruiser: "No idea. Don't care. No idea who he is going to hire. He said he was putting money into the roster so should be easy enough to handle."

Thug: "Want to get sloshed tonight then?"

Bruiser: "Hell yeah. And I guess if you are retiring time to go back to being Matt Vicious."

Thug: "Whatever you want mate. Time for another round."

WELSH PRO WRESTLING: THE ROSTER

Owner: Ken Flanagan

Matt Vicious: One sick son of a bitch. Apparently has mob connections and I am not going to ask if this is true. As long as he pays me I guess I will do what I can with this sad excuse of a roster.

Referee: Allan Round

Matt Vicious: I have known Allan for years. Not a great referee, but he is a professional and at least gives me one trustworthy person to work with.

Manager: Liz Sweetheart

Matt Vicious: I feel bad for Liz. Only met her once or twice in passing. I would be more worried about her being around Ken, but she is past the age of fourteen so she should be safe. Even so I will make sure certain people stay far away from her so we don't have some stupid lawsuit.

The Wrestlers

Armand Hardwicke

Matt Vicious: Not a bad guy, but forgettable. I am not Adonis, but his build could give him the nickname Armand Lardwicke. He is still a decent wrestler and hopefully pairing him with Liz will help him out.

Baz Smith

Matt Vicious: Good to see Ken has really been spending the cash to bring in great talent. This sad sack is a miserable egotistical piece of garbage. He has no real redeeming qualities which must be why Ken likes him.

Colin Picalo

Matt Vicious: He's a rookie and it shows. He seems to want to better himself, but not sure if he has a high ceiling given how small he is. Feel bad this is his first real taste of getting experience.

Giancarlo Giabroni

Matt Vicious: Not a bad look and he is pretty good in the ring. Go figure he can't speak English worth a damn. He won't be talking, but he is one of the better if not best worker we have when it comes to being an all rounder.

Jeff Amazon

Matt Vicious: Proof that life hates me. I am not sure how Jeff is even still playing wrestler at this point. I have had bad luck in crossing paths with him once or twice since MOSC closed and never been a nice experience. Maybe I can lock him and Baz in a locker and forget about them forever.

Booker: Matt Vicious

Matt Vicious: Never thought for the life of me I would probably be the biggest name in a company and possibly one of the most talented. That isn't even ego talking. It is me dealing with mostly unproven rookies and complete wankers like Amazon.

Russel Nixon

Matt Vicious: Another rookie that needs a lot of work. He can do some impressive things, but ring wise unless he is selling a beating he is pretty much garbage. He at least gives us one guy that might attract women to the shows.

The Damned

Matt Vicious: Possibly a guy that might murder me, but that might be a sweet release. He has a lot of the tools to make a decent career, but he is a problematic type that has many vices from what I understand. If he behaves he might do well for himself.

The Damned was caught smoking weed. Matt Vicious slapped the weed from his hand then slapped The Damn with a fine. Instead of murdering Matt and going back to prison The Damned apologized and even seemed sincere that he will not do such a thing again. The Damned was not removed from the show because of this and just to make sure there are no problems Matt Vicious made she he would be the one fighting the Norwegian.

It is bad. Perhaps not the worst match ever, but when Jeff Amazon is the one that seems to be the more skilled of two wrestlers there isn't much to hope for other than a quick match. And it is pretty much that. Mostly elbows, punches and kicks it is Jeff Amazon that stuns Baz with a big elbow and follows it up with his Amazon Prime finisher for the win.

Russel mocks Armand and his somewhat flabby build by showing off his nice and toned body. He poses for the few ladies that have come to the show before the match starts. Russel shows he can be exciting, but very spotty. He does not know his way around the ring and Armand does his best to keep things flowing. It is another short match to hide the weaknesses of Nixon and Armand wins with the Dutch Courage to move onto the next round.

Better than the previous two bouts it might be the language barrier that didn't make this one better. Colin did well at being the fireplug punk that was trying to take down the much bigger Giabroni, but in the end the Italian was too much for him. One Milan Arrow later and Giancarlo advances to the next round.

Matt Vicious is on his way out when The Damned jumps him from behind. The two start to brawl around the ring and get the crowd more excited than any of the previous matches have. Allan Round eventually gets the two to seperate and start the match proper.

Matt Vicious vs The Damned</div>

Hard hitting bout that actually has some big power moves added to boot. It isn't saying much, but this ends up being the best match of the night and both men hold their own. The Damned starts to look winded near the end (Don't smoke or this stuff happens, kids) and Matt Vicious takes advantage of his weakened foe. A big forearm to the back of the head of The Damned is lights out and Matt Vicious is the final man to advance.

A Meeting About One Week after the Show

Matt Vicious: I know it was you that put the article out. Why the hell did you do that?

Ken Flanagan: No idea what you are talking about.

An annoyed Matt Vicious throws down pages of a wrestling news article he printed out. The headline?

Jeff Amazon: RISING STAR

Ken Flanagan: What is wrong with some promoting of our talent?

Matt Vicious: That is not talent. You saw his match right? The hell I am making him a main eventer.

Ken Flanagan: Come on now. He is the most popular wrestler we got behind you.

Matt Vicious: That doesn't make him more talented. Look, you want me to run this I am doing it my way. Have you gotten a title made yet?

Ken Flanagan: It is in the works. It will be a great looking title trust me.

Matt Vicious: If it is anything like half the roster you got me I am sure it will be amazing.

Still annoyed and to the point of sheer anger Matt leaves while Ken just looks pleased with himself.

Breaking News!

The British wrestling scene was rocked today when British Samurai passed away today at the age of forty-one. The bizarre incident involved a steamroller crushing the former owner of Ring of Fire and was still running the Ring of Fire Dojo before his passing. While never a huge name that got a lot of attention he was integral in training several wrestlers over the years and was well respected among his peers in both the British Isles and all of Europe. It is said the Ring of Fire Dojo will close its doors and there will be no new owner.

The Damned was trying to provoke the owner into a fight. To be fair The Damned was calling Ken out on being a possible pedophile, but Matt Vicious fined him for causing disruption in the locker room. The Damned apologized and seemed to show remorse, but after two incidents in a row his sincerity is called into question. Ken seemed pleased even though he is still a piece of crap.

Russel Nixon vs Baz Smith

Proof that something can be worse than a Jeff Amazon match somehow. It was short and awkward with Russel looking lost and botching most of everything he tried. Baz wasn't much better, but being he mostly just punches people it was slightly less awkward. A frustrated Baz puts Nixon away with an STO to end perhaps what may go down as the worst match in WPW history.

Winner: Baz Smith

Armand and Liz were out next with the latter talking up what the former did last month and what he will do this month. Armand then mentions it took years of hard work and dedication to get where he is (His muffin top says otherwise) when Jeff Amazon comes out. He runs down Armand and claims he is the premier athlete in this building and will be the first WPW champion.

It....could be worse? It is by no means a good match, but the fans actually see something more competent put together. It is a fairly even affair too with both men getting some offense in, but good old dirty tactics like a thumb to the eye from Jeff Amazon allows the pink clad warrior to claim a victory and a spot in the finals after putting Armand away with Amazon Prime.

Winner: Jeff Amazon

The Damned vs Colin Picalo

It is mostly a brawl in this one. One that The Damned seems to mostly carry due to once again the less experienced one in this fight just seemed off his game. Colin has a few flurries of strikes to try and slow down his bigger opponent, but The Damned is too strong and eventually lays out Colin with a powerful strike he calls Fist of Eternity.

Winner: The Damned

Rating: 18

Matt Vicious comes out and talks about his many years in the business and about being champion. He dismisses Jeff Amazon saying that this match may as well be the true finals to this tournament and actually gives praise to the man he is about to face, Giancarlo Gaibroni. Despite the praise Matt says he will win and then next month fold Jeff Amazon in half to take the WPW title.

Matt Vicious vs Giancarlo Gaibroni

By WPW standards this is about as good as things can get. Two big guys that can do a bit actual wrestling mixed in with their brawling. Unlike most of the messy matches that are kept short on purpose these two got time to actually do something more than just hit a few big spots and call it a day. Both men come close to winning, but it is Matt Vicious coming out on top after delivering that big forearm of his to the back of Giancarlo's head.

It didn't take long for Jeff Amazon to let two wins go to his head. Pretty much the entire locker room has complained about the go of the pink wearing wrestler. Matt Vicious fined Jeff and told him to straighten up which didn't sit well with the self proclaimed star of WPW. There is definite animosity between himself and Matt Vicious and it is hard to tell how it will affect his push.

Giancarlo Giabroni got in trouble today for forgetting his travel partner. Being that the partner was Baz Smith the punishment was probably not too bad. Some wonder if Giancarlo truly doesn't understand English or plays off that he doesn't so he can feign innocence on incidents like this.

Baz continues to show any real lack of talent and Armand isn't really good enough to carry a match. It isn't the worst match, but there is a reason why it probably kicked things off. Baz worked as the aggressor most of the match, but his cocky attitude lead to mistakes and Armand mounted a comeback. One Dutch Courage puts Baz away for good.

For two guys that haven't even been wrestling for a full year this could have been a recipe for disaster. Instead it was decent by WPW standards. Due to lack of psychology between both perfomers the match was kept short and just highlighted the athletic prowess of Nixon and the scrappy brawling of Colin. Colin gets the win over the fellow rookie with a Thunder Fist that knocked Russel Nixon out with ease.

One of the better matches of the night unsurprisingly has two of the better workers for the company facing off in a hard hitting brawl that has some nice throws and slams mixed in too. The match could have used some more time, but The Damned seems to tire out easily and the length was reduced to keep him protected. Even so it was a tough fight that Giancarlo managed to win after hitting the Milan Arrow on The Damned.

Jeff Amazon comes out first claiming he was here to lead WPW to the promised land by being their first champion. Finally his talent was being recognized and he is here to prove everyone wrong. Matt comes out and doesn't seem impressed and compares who each man has had to defeat to get to the final. Matt then says he is going to fold Amazon in half and mail him back to where he came.

This may be the best match Jeff Amazon will ever be involved in. He also gets more offense in than he probably deserves. What looks like should have been a one sided affair instead becomes something of a back and forth match where somehow the dislike of Amazon from the crowd makes the big, brutish Matt Vicious the face for this match. Reality starts to feel like it is about to shatter when Amazon has Matt set up for the Amazon Prime, but it is reversed and Vicious turns Jeff inside out with a big lariat and gets the pin.

We join in on the middle of a rather heated phone conversation.

Ken Flanagan: I am very disappointed in you not doing business.

Matt Vicious: Piss off. You want this company to start making money don't you? I wasn't the first choice, but Jeff was probably next to last.

Ken Flanagan: Who is the last?

Matt Vicious: Baz Smith. I rather have a mop be champ than that bastard. Look for now I am holding the belt, a belt you have even had made yet, and will do so until someone is properly groomed.

Ken Flanagan: I am sure there is already someone you can pass it to.

Matt Vicious: Not right away. And speaking of. Eight men was fine because of the tournament, but I need some new blood. Let me sign someone.

Ken Flanagan: No. I handle all the contracts. You want new blood? I'll get you some. In fact I have some people in mind. One is even from Nova's little school!

Matt Flanagan: That.....that sounds okay actually.

Matt Vicious: I don't know what Nova was thinking on this one. I am sure he is a nice kid, but there is so much polish left to be done he could have easily used another year or two of training. He does seem athletic and can apparently pull out impressive moves, but we already have Nixon for that. Glad to see Ken throwing out the big bucks for people.

Gavin Owen

Matt Vicious: He is starting his wrestling career late, but he is a certified judo master which does help. He is more polished than some of the guys we have on the roster that have been wrestling for years. His only knocks are a all too serious personality that shows no real charisma and he needs to learn his way inside the ring a bit better. At least he might be something I can work with.
