2018 WWE Cruiserweight Classic

Recommended Posts

I just finished putting together the bracket for my 2018 WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournament. I took 32 wrestlers and separated them into four groups of eight for a grouping stage. Then the 16 winners from the group stage will move on to the sweet 16 final stage.

Unfortunately, you can't make bracket predictions for the group stage. However, the predictions will be open for the final stage.

Round 2 is in the books! The best showing out of Round 2 was Andrade Cien Almas and Ricochet... it was a great, exciting match with plenty of action. The ending was pretty crazy too... with the referee down, Zelina Vega wrapped her necklace around her fist and attempted to strike Ricochet with it.. but he quickly ducked and she hit Andrade in the face instead! The ref slowly awoke.. and Ricochet rolled Andrade up for the 1-2-3! What a match!

<p>The semifinals are complete! Dorado and Ricochet had a high-flying classic. Neville continued with his cheat to win mentality and took care of a feisty upcoming Maluta. The finals will pit Ricochet against Neville... and it will be held at the Hell In A Cell PPV! </p><p> </p><p>

Stay tuned!</p>

Just realized i forgot to bet in the final, which was Neville against Ricochet anyway. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Good tournament so far, hope the final is good.

At WWE Hell In A Cell 2018, Neville and Ricochet faced off in a TLC match for the Cruiserweight Classic Trophy. It was thrilling. It was intense. There was athleticism. There was emotion. There was suspense. And of course, the competitors endured a handful of holy sh** bumps. Together, they exhilarated the crowd with an exclamation point finish to an awesome tournament.

In the end.... It was Ricochet who managed to defeat Neville, despite Neville's dastardly attempts to win in underhanded fashion.

Ricochet is the winner of the 2018 WWE Cruiserweight Classic! By winning the tournament, he has also won himself the right to face reigning Cruiserweight Champion Andrade Cien Almas for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Thanks for playing, guys! Congrats to whoever had the best bracket! Stay tuned for my next bracket challenge... it will be the Mixed Match Challenge.

So there were 8 wrestlers per group. So then there were 4 matches per group, with each match winner advancing. Thus, there were 4 winners from each group. And since there were 4 groups, it was 4 X 4 = 16. I know, it was kind of crazy over-complicated way to do it. Next time, I will just do a full 32 knockout from the start without the grouping stage.</p>
