Atom Smasher:
"So you're telling me I quit my job for THIS!?

The Tic:
Uhhh...to be fair... I didn't even think you'd ever return my call.

 

Shaking in anger, Atom Smasher slams his fist down on the glass coffee table. The Tic jumps, startled.

 

Atom Smasher:
I WAS MAKING SIX-FIGURES A YEAR! I GOT TO TRAVEL ALL OVER THE WORLD! AND YOU MADE ME THROW IT AWAY FOR A HALF-BAKED BUSINESS VENTURE THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN AFFORD???

 

The Tic:
I'm sorry! I'm SORRY!

 

Atom Smasher:
I HAD A CAREER! I HAD A GIRLFRIEND! I HAD THE TRADEMARK TO "CAPTAIN ATOMIC"! AND I LOST ALL OF IT BECAUSE OF YOU!!

 

Atom Smasher grabs a hold of The Tic's shirt and lifts him off the ground. Dangling off the ground, The Tic hopelessly struggles, kicking his tiny feet in the air. Taking a deep, deep breath, Atom slowly puts down his business partner. The Tic straightens his mask, and wipes the spit off of his face.

 

The Tic:
Look, Atom...do you mind if I call you Atom? Anyways, I'm sorry alright? I didn't know it would go all haywire like this. Some major studio exec promised to back SAW and get us a show on The Pop! Network, and then put our our older seasons on Reverie. How was I supposed to know he was only trying to recruit us into Scientology?

 

Atom Smasher grumbles some profanity under his breath. The two are in a run-down Los Angeles film lot, which Smasher had bought with his life savings from SWF on the behest of The Tic and the shady reality show exec.

 

Atom Smasher:
I just wish I was smarter. But now what?

 

The Tic:
I mean...we still have this place (referencing the studio). And the trademark to SAW, and a wrestling ring.

 

Atom Smasher:
Forget it.

 

The Tic:
No, seriously! Listen! Just because we don't have a major television program, and the Kardashians won't be making an appearance at our opening show doesn't mean we have to give up on SAW. The place has a lot of promise! We have the licensing, we have the ring and we have the gear!

 

Atom Smasher:
Listen, I don't want anything to do with SAW anymore, and I definitely don't want anything to do with YOU. Now leave me alone.

 

The Tic:
No! Let me help you. I owe you that much. Besides...it's not like you can just waltz back to SWF. This is your business, your property. Please just let me make this right.

 

Atom Smasher glares at The Tic, his face still red with anger. Unclenching his fist and gnashing his teeth, he takes a second to think.

 

Atom Smasher:
Alright. I'm in. But if you screw me over again, bug...

Standing at 6'3, weighing in at 225 pounds, Gloria looks even more massive next to the diminutive Tic. Cornering The Tic, Glorious Gloria laughs in Russian, as the tiny masked man is trapped between the turnbuckle and the bear of a woman. Glorious Gloria's offense is not pretty. It involves a bunch of slams and rest holds that you can learn on your first or second month of budget wrestling school. Still, with muscles on her muscles, Gloria is a scary threat. Finally, The Tic gets free by tickling Glorious Gloria. The massive she-beast cannot contain her rumbling laughter, and it provides The Tic with a major opening, which he takes advantage of. Dressed in rags, the "Doomsayer" Melvin Otto goes on a bizarre rant about how cyborgs are coming to destroy SAWville and that the roster has already been infiltrated and replaced by aliens.

 

He's a little
too
good at his character, as the show organizers Tic and Hailey Booke have to reassure the younger members of the audience that Otto is in fact an actor, and not a crazy homeless person that SAW picked up from skid row. However, the deeper Otto goes into his promo, the less confident Tic and Booke seem about their assurances.

 

Melvin Otto

"Look at you. Look at YOU. ALL OF YOU. Just sitting HERE! Gah-ugh *cough* why are YOU here?! The robots ARE COMING! The cyborgs ARE COMING! The androids ARE COMING, er, gah, a little later than the cyborgs and robots. I see it clearly, CLEARLY! With laser cannons for TEETH and chainsaws for FEET! THEY ARE COMING! And who will protect you?? WHO? Who? Who? WHO????!!! The ones sworn to protect us are the OTHER! Aliens! From the Andromeda Galaxy!! *GAG* SAWville will be razed with the brimstone MADE of COMPUTER CHIPS! While the GREEN skins sit and WATCH US BURN!!! *cough, cough*"

 

The angle ends without any sort of pay-off, leaving the audience confused as ever. As Hailey Booke escorts Otto out of the ring, he stumbles over and throws up outside of the ring. Since SAW did not budget a janitor, the next 10 minutes are spent with Mark Smart cleaning up vomit off of the outside ring mats.

Rockin' Ryan Turner

 

Electric guitar riffs fill the studio as Rockin' Ryan Turner grooves out to the audience. The fans cheer, as the energetic Turner plays a medley of his own creation. For the uninformed, Turner is an actual musician, and goes on tour quite a bit for bigger bands.

Tennessee William

 

The Elvis-impersonator Tennessee William interrupts Turner with his own interpretation of the blues. While he's no King, William is definitely a talented guy. With his smooth voice, and his rockstar charisma, William takes center stage with his cover of Oasis's Wonderwall.

 

The crowd is having a blast, especially since they were just admonished by a seemingly crazy bum. The fans are clapping, dancing and singing along to William and Turner, who in turn try to one up each other in their performances.

Rajah

 

After the performance, the music mogul Rajah comes out to a really catchy hip-hop theme. The guy can barely walk, given how much gold jewelry he's wearing. He daps both men.

"YO man, that was DOPE! You was like 'bam-bam-bam' and then he was like 'dum-dum-do-da' and then you was like 'alright, I see YOU'. Unfortunately, there can only be one person that wins SAWville Idol, and that man is...

 

ME!
cuz I'm dope as hell!!!!"

 

Rajah starts dancing in the center of the ring, taunting William and Turner. The crowd boos, as they are upset at Rajah's bad dancing. Also, he was doing good heel work. Turner and William look bewildered (The Tic never told them that SAW was a comedy promotion).

 

As Rajah is basically air-thrusting, well, the air, William and Turner nod.

William hits Rajah over the head with his guitar as the crowd cheers. Turner high-fives William as the two air-thrust dance over Rajah's unconscious body as the crowd cheers.

The crowd gives Atom Smasher a big pop as he's really the only guy in the show with any mainstream exposure. The 250 pounder runs out with all the energy of a coked-out Jim Force, high-fiving the fans and posing for the audience. His opponent is quite a big guy; towering over the already towering Atom Smasher, Mutant is an intimidating figure. With a silver mohawk and enough makeup to close down a Sephora, Mutant has one of the weirdest looks, and that's saying a lot given this is pro wrestlers we're talking about. Atom Smasher begins the match with his traditional Captain Atomic arsenal, and failing pretty hard. Hitting the big man with strikes only seems to anger Mutant. Mutant controls most of the match, using an array of slams, suplexes and rest holds to keep the slow, methodical pace. Former TCW star Harry Allen comes out, to a smatter of applause by wrestling fans who recognize him from his famous (using the term famous very liberally) tag-team the Young Guns. Next to Allen are several hired wild animal trainers from the studio theme park wildlife show next door. Given that Allen has no actual animal taming training, the trainers are holding a tight leash on the animals in the building. Most notably, a real, live chimpanzee dressed like Tommy Cornell is in the ring, the professional trainers the only thing preventing the chimp from tearing Allen's limbs off. Allen had suffered a similar experience after a match with Genghis Rahn during his time in TCW. Next to the chimp, one of the show's dogs defecates in the ring.
