MR: Hello and welcome to the second night of the sixth annual Gold Rush Tournament. Last night we had eight matches to determine who would advance to tonight. Tonight we will find out who will walk out? Will it be “Bulldozer” Brandon Smith? The world-traveled grappler? Will it be the nineteen year old phenom James Diaz? Will it be David Stone? How about Cameron Vessey? The Japanese legend Yoshimi Mushashibo? The demon Hellion? The lucha-libre sensation El Héroe Mexicano? Or will it be Jay Chord? Eight men are left. Who will survive three matches tonight and raise the Gold Rush trophy?</p><p> </p><p>

RDJ: After last night, I have to say that Jay Chord looks like the favorite -- even as much as it pains me to say that. He had probably the toughest first round match up with Greg Keith. It’s going to be very hard to defeat Jay Chord in this tournament.</p><p> </p><p>

DH: You’re finally coming around!</p><p> </p><p>

MR: I’ve been told that Marjorie Oxford has announcement for tonight. Let’s go to her.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="GNkzKok.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GNkzKok.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="6D57NFv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/6D57NFv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

MO: It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that last night two competitors suffered injuries that will prevent them from competing tonight. Yoshimi Mushashibo suffered an ankle injury that the doctor’s have not cleared for competition tonight and will be unable to compete in his second round match with Hellion. El Héroe Mexicano suffered a knee injury after the heinous attack by Sayeed Ali and is not able to compete either.</p><p> </p><p>

However, we are not going to give Hellion or Jay Chord a round off -- so both men will be replaced. Yoshimi Mushashibo will be replaced by a man who competed for the North American Heavyweight Championship last night -- who was not pinned and holds several big victories and made it to the finals of last year’s Gold Rush tournament.. KC Glenn.</p><p> </p><p>

El Héroe Mexicano will be replaced by a wrestler who begged for the opportunity -- a former North American Tag Team Champion who is looking for another opportunity here in CWL.. “Top Rope” Robby Griffin.</p><p>

“Bulldozer” Brandon Smith versus “The Return of the Monster” James Diaz</p><p> </p><p>

If last night’s contest between Smith and Brecher was tailor made for Japan, this could main event any major Japanese show from the pure physicality. Smith and Diaz exchanged incredibly stiff shots that echoed off the walls of the Lowe Ballroom. They went back and forth in a solid match before Diaz hit Smith with the unfortunately named, Asian Thumb Spike [Essentially the Samoan Spike] and got the pinfall victory to advance in the tournament.</p><p> </p><p>

James Diaz defeated Bulldozer Brandon Smith in 14:51 by pinfall with an Asian Thumb Spike.</p><p>

“The Canadian Wrestling Machine” David Stone versus Cameron Vessey w/ Lisa Bowen</p><p> </p><p>

Stone and Vessey have wrestling in their blood. Their families *are* professional wrestling. They had a very exciting wrestling match that shows they have an incredible feel for one another. It was primarily a technical match, not nearly the hard-hitting physical affair that the opening contest was. Stone locked in the Stone Ankle Stretch at one point, but Bowen pushed the bottom rope to Cameron so he could break the hold. Darren Smith admonished her while Vessey got to his feet. An eye rake opened up the opportunity to hit the Vessey Driver II and for Vessey to advance to face Diaz.</p><p> </p><p>

Cameron Vessey defeated David Stone in 11:58 by pinfall with a Vessey Driver II. </p><p>

KC Glenn versus “American Hellspawn” Hellion w/ Father Grim</p><p> </p><p>

David versus Goliath in a professional wrestling ring -- if it was a little clunky and clumsy. Hopefully these two will not have another singles match with each other, because despite each of their talents it did not come off nearly as well as it should have. Hellion dominated most of the match, KC was able to duck a big clothesline and school boy Hellion from behind and get the surprise victory.</p><p> </p><p>

KC Glenn defeated Hellion in 10:09 by pinfall with a quick roll up. </p><p>

“Top Rope” Robby Griffin versus Jay Chord w/ Lisa Bowen</p><p> </p><p>

Robby Griffin had not been see in a CWL ring since his brother Mark returned to NOTBW a year or so ago. Griffin is a former tag team champion with his brother and was definitely looking to earn a spot back on the main roster. Unfortunately for him, he was up against Jay Chord who was incredibly motivated and outside of some opening shine, Jay Chord dominated the whole match and hit the Super DDT -- a DDT from the top rope that is incredibly vicious -- for the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Jay Chord defeated Robby Griffin in 9:06 by pinfall with a Super DDT. </p><p>

Suzanne Brazzle versus Missy Masterson ©</p><p> </p><p>

In another solid match, Masterson and Brazzle had the classic championship match. Masterson kept trying to get away from Brazzle -- and Brazzle kept moving forward. Brazzle looked particularly good in this contest, but did eat an Identity Crisis for Masterson to get the retention.</p><p>

Missy Masterson defeated Suzanne Brazzle in 10:36 by pinfall with an Identity Crisis. Missy Masterson makes defence number 2 of her CWL North American Women's title. </p><p>

“The Return of the Monster” James Diaz versus Cameron Vessey w/ Lisa Bowen</p><p> </p><p>

Vessey continued his streak of fantastic performances and he and Diaz had incredible chemistry -- but chemistry that was different than Vessey and Stone. Vessey was the smaller man here and he worked like it. He ducked and moved. He attacked the knee of Diaz to bring him down. Diaz had been in two physical wars -- last night with Des Davids and Brandon Smith, Vessey really went after the leg. Trying to really hyper extend it. Diaz, at two hundred and ninety pounds fought back to his feet and slid off a Vessey Driver II and hit the still unfortunately named Asian Thumb Spike for the victory and to punch his ticket to the finals.</p><p> </p><p>

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, James Diaz defeated Cameron Vessey in 11:17 by pinfall with an Asian Thumb Spike..</p><p>

KC Glenn versus Jay Chord w/ Lisa Bowen</p><p> </p><p>

KC Glenn, who wrestled in the main event last night and was a replacement tonight came out looking to take the offense to Jay Chord. It caught Chord off guard, but these two men had a breathtaking match that showed the kind of fire KC Glenn had shown in MAW that had made Burning Hammer want him -- and Chord showed the same kind of skill that had made his father a legend. This was a spectacle. KC Glenn went for the Tune up the Sunshine Band but Chord ducked and KC had to stop short to not kick Lisa Bowen. Glenn turned around and Chord caught him with the Cradle Piledriver to advance to face James Diaz.</p><p> </p><p>

Jay Chord defeated KC Glenn in 15:20 by pinfall with a Cradle Piledriver. </p><p>

The Fat Cats versus The Mission ©</p><p> </p><p>

If the audience thought that Glenn and Chord was excellent -- they were taken up even more by the sensational tag match. DiBiase, who was still in his rookie year, started against Ranger. Ranger and Faith dominated early before some shady tactics got DiBiase and Trescarde the upper hand. They took over and punished Faith. Faith kept trying to fight back but kept getting cut off by DiBiase and Trescarde. Trescarde and DiBiase looked like a tag team that had been teaming together for years even though they had only been teaming since early spring. Trescarde went for an Atomic Drop, but Faith flipped over the back of him and tagged in Ranger. </p><p> </p><p>

Ranger came in like a house of fire. The near seven footer looked like a star during the come back and the crowd was on their feet. Ranger hit a big boot on Carl DiBiase sent him sprawling to the outside. Ranger shot Trescarde off and caught him with a huge spinebuster. DiBiase rolled back into the ring and Darren Smith grabbed him to stop him. With the referee pulled away, the crowd gasps when former TCW Tag Team champion… the monsterous KILLER SHARK</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="958vCXY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/958vCXY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

… popped up out of nowhere and yanked Matty Faith off the apron. He hit him with a clothesline that turned him inside out. Ranger saw and started walking towards him when Trescarde rolled Ranger up and pulled on the tights. Smith didn’t see this when he counted the three and we have new World Tag Team Champions.</p><p> </p><p>

The Fat Cats defeated The Mission in 14:24 when Monty Trescarde defeated Ranger by pinfall with a handful of tights. During the match we also had Killer Shark run in and attack Faith. The Fat Cats win the GWC World Tag Team titles. </p><p>

“Mr. Colorado” Ross Henry versus Gino Montero ©</p><p> </p><p>

Ross Henry and Gino Montero really went at it. Both were cheered and both were having a competitive match that was for a championship. There was no bad blood here, just pure competition and the desire to prove they were the best in the world. Ross Henry hit the Earthquake Slam when the sound of dollar bills being counted played and “The Blueblood” Paul Huntingdon walked onto the entrance ramp.</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="hxo5moZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/hxo5moZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Henry started shouting at him to leave. Huntingdon smiled, waved, and backed out of the ramp. Henry turned around, ate an enziguri and then Gino climbed the top rope. When Ross Henry stood up he got hit with the Montero Press [Flying Cross Body] and Montero got the pinn.</p><p> </p><p>

Gino Montero defeated Ross Henry in 22:28 by pinfall with a Montero Press after a distraction from Paul Huntingdon. Gino Montero makes defence number 9 of his GWC World Heavyweight title. </p><p>

Ross Henry has gotten back to his feet after losing to Gino Montero. He shakes his head when all of a sudden Paul Huntingdon, Carl DiBiase and Monty Trescarde and Killer Shark run in and attack, beating Henry down into the mat. It is a very physical beatdown with Shark doing most of the work, Huntingdon calling the shots and DiBiase and Trescarde getting potshots in.</p><p> </p><p>

“Tonight I follow in my cousin’s footsteps. Tonight I continue the Diaz legacy. I survived Des Davids. Bulldozer Brandon Smith. Cameron Vessey… The only thing standing in my way now is Jay Chord. Jay… You are an incredible athlete. An incredible wrestler. You, like me, have this business in your blood. But unlike me, you are standing in my way -- and I would hate to be you. The Gold Rush Trophy will be mine. It will be all mine.”</p><p>

“The Return of the Monster” James Diaz versus Jay Chord w/ Lisa Bowen</p><p> </p><p>

The finals of the Gold Rush tournament. Two second generation wrestlers (and a second generation manager). Both men are the sons of legit wrestling legends. Rip Chord is an Immortal and it is possible for Raymond Diaz, the first non-Japanese wrestler [and currently only] to win the prestigious Elite Series tournament. Diaz was selling his leg from the Vessey onslaught on his knee. Chord continued targeting the leg. Even though Chord uses the Cradle Piledriver and Super DDT to finish matches -- Chord also knew that at six feet nine and two hundred and ninety pounds, Diaz needed to not be able to stand up.</p><p> </p><p>

Chord really worked over the leg and Diaz was hobbled. Chord hit the Cradle Piledriver and went for the pin but Diaz kicked out just before three. Chord looked incredulous at Darren Smith, but Diaz pulled himself to his feet. He was on one leg when he hit Chord with a huge belly to belly suplex. Then a second. Then a third. Then a lariat that turned Chord inside out. The crowd was yelling and cheering for Diaz when Diaz signalled that this was the end.</p><p> </p><p>

Chord stumbled back to his feet and boom… ASIAN THUMB SPIKE!!!!! Diaz made the cover and he got the three and is officially the 2021 Gold Rush Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

James Diaz defeated Jay Chord in 17:46 by pinfall with an Asian Thumb Spike. James Diaz wins the Gold Rush title. C+</p><p> </p><p>

<p>And that brings a conclusion to the month of August! There are some narratives coming up before we delve into more shows. Thank you to all those who predicted. I believe we had thirteen different people predict -- which is awesome! I will be DMing the winner with the prize for this particular show soon -- as it will effect what is going to happen in the coming weeks! (I actually have not played the game past this show, it's one of the few times I'm completely caught up in diary with where I'm at in the save -- on purpose!)</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks for playing along!</p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="77R420p.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/77R420p.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

August had been a good month. Our best month of business, actually. We ran eight house shows, four television tapings, and the two-night Gold Rush event. All told we sold close to twenty thousand tickets for the month, including thirteen thousand tickets in the last week alone with three sold out shows. We were definitely gaining popularity and exposure. </p><p> </p><p>

The sixth Gold Rush had been our best Gold Rush event to date. Jay Chord and KC Glenn had tore the house down, so do the Fat Cats and the Mission. James Diaz had cemented himself as a star for us with four solid matches. He had taken beatings in his match against Des Davids and Brandon and worked his ass off against Cameron and Jay.</p><p> </p><p>

Evil Dead, the former Hell’s Bouncer had made his debut for us in helping Scythe retain over Matthew Keith. Paul and Shark had debuted to fill out the Money Talks stable. We were set up with multiple feuds through the end of the year. Sean McFly, Ricky Dale Johnson and I had formed a tight-knit creative group. Ricky ran the training center now and kept me apprised of all of the talent we had there. Sean agented our house shows for me while I produced the television show and got all of the formats ready to go.</p><p> </p><p>

We were turning into a well oiled machine. The only downside from the Gold Rush weekend had been the ankle injury to Yoshimi. It was only a bad sprain, he’d be able to work again in just a couple of weeks -- and would work for us one more time to fulfill his talent trade obligation. It was supposed to be Yoshimi and Jay in the semi finals -- but with the injury I had to put KC in that spot. </p><p> </p><p>

Mexicano’s injury had been a work. He was booked on Saturday for OLLIE so he couldn’t be at both nights, but Axxis and I had wanted to set up the potential for Mexicano to lead a trios team on an OLLIE show against Gangsta Nation, but also for Mexicano to come back and work a follow up singles match against Ali on TV. Axxis wanted to increase the exposure for Mexicano. I understood that. I had done the same thing with Riley and the COTT World Title.</p><p> </p><p>

I shifted in my office chair and looked at the paperwork in front of me. I was very excited for one of the signings we had just made. I thought it was a big coo and would really help further extend our brand and really give us another bankable star that if we played our cards right, could be a star for us for a decade. I had feelers out to another game changing star. We would see if they wanted to come to work for me.</p><p> </p><p>

There was a knock on my office door. “Come in.”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Cz2O4ow.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Cz2O4ow.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

I looked up as the door opened and in walked the massive Brandon James. At almost seven feet tall, he had been a major star in professional wrestling for two decades, but I could tell watching him that his body was not the same. His back, his knees, his shoulders. They were all going out on him. His performances just weren’t the same. Twenty-seven years in this sport will do that to you. Twelve of those years were with DAVE -- working that crazy style that John and Phil had wanted. Blood. Guts. Weapons. Danger… Violence… It was in the damn name, but now Brandon’s body was paying the price.</p><p> </p><p>

“You got a second?” The grizzled veteran asked me. I nodded and motioned for him to sit. He did not sit.</p><p> </p><p>

“What’s on your mind, Brandon?”</p><p> </p><p>

He looked around my office. It wasn’t much. We were still running things out of the converted retail store I had gotten all those years ago. It was still our home base. It had been upgraded. We had taken over more floor space as other stores around us went out of business, but it was still home. “One month.” He said seriously.</p><p> </p><p>

“One month what?” I asked.</p><p> </p><p>

“That’s what I’ve got left in the tank. You’ve got September and then I’m hanging them up. I can’t go anymore. You saw me against Scout. The match didn’t go ten minutes and I could barely breathe. I was sucking wind hard. I woke up this morning and I knew… I knew I was done.”</p><p> </p><p>

I nodded my head and stood up. Moving around the desk, I stood in front of him. He was a head taller than me. I stook out my hand. “How do you want to go out?”</p><p> </p><p>

Brandon grinned. “On my back. Making some youngsters. I’m still over. But you gotta get some of these guys ready. David. Alexander. I don’t care. Just give me a couple of shows of putting over some young guys. Let me make it to Last Hard Men. Let me see the lights one last time and let me ride out of here.” He took my hand in his massive one. It was a tight grip. A man’s grip.</p><p> </p><p>

“You got it. Five more matches, Brandon. One month. I appreciate it.” I told him and I meant it. He was one of our most popular wrestlers. He could use that popular to give off to another talents. Kids who could need use it. He was a true professional and I respected that.</p><p> </p><p>

Twenty-seven years, a lifetime in the business… Now he had five more matches.</p>

<p>If you were to move over to ContinentalWresltingLeague.com, you would see that there is a new video posted. It just says, The Fallen.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="G84Mpx3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/G84Mpx3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The video starts and Hellion, Evil Dead, and Scythe are all in the background while the man who has become known as Father Grim stood in the foreground in a charcoal suit with a red tie.</p><p> </p><p>

Father Grim, “It’s not your fault. I need you all out there to understand that it is not your fault. It is not your fault that your lives are the way they are. You are not a failure. You were lied to. You did not fail, you were given false dreams to strive forward. In school, they told you that you could be whatever you wanted to be. You could achieve anything if you wanted it bad enough. If you worked for it hard enough. But they were wrong, won’t they? That is why you, the guy who wanted to be a novelist is taking coffee orders. It’s why you, the lady who wanted to be president is tending bar and having lecherous men try to get your phone number. It’s why you wanted to be rich and famous and were told that college was the way. Now you’re one hundred thousand dollars in debt and you’re making just over minimum wage. It’s why you live at home with your parents instead of your own house. It’s why you have a cat instead of a kid. Because they lied to you. They told you what you could be, but they never told you what you would be. They never told you that the world isn’t fair. Dreams are just dreams. Hard work just breaks your body down faster and as long as you are in the game, playing by the rules, you will fail. The game is designed for you to fail.”</p><p> </p><p>

Grim turns his head for a moment to look at the men behind him and then back at the camera.</p><p> </p><p>

Grim, “These men believed the lies. There was a Supreme Empire that promised them riches. It promised them paradise. It told them that they would be stars. Their names would be on marquees. Stadiums would fill to see them. But what happened? They found themselves Fallen. Fallen from grace. Cast out of the empire. Excommunicated for not drinking enough koolaide. But these Fallen. They found me. I made them no promises. I did not tell them what they could be. I only told them what they are. They are monsters. They are the head turners. They are the reason people cross the street at night. Freaks and outcasts. They have fallen. But they will rise. I will not cast them out. I will not banish them. I will allow them to step into the light.”</p><p> </p><p>

The video feed ends.</p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Marjorie studied her hands. She couldn’t palm a basketball and she couldn’t crush an apple with her hand like so many strongmen liked. But her hands were strong. They could make magic out of canned goods. They could create art through video. They could teach and encourage and nourish and love. They had planted flowers and held newborn puppies. They were her hands. Strange little things that they were.</p><p> </p><p>

Her foot could not stop bouncing and she chewed on her bottom lip. Her father was just beyond his office door. She just had to knock. Just had to tell him. It would be so much easier once she did. Her father was an understanding man. He was loving and supportive. He was gentle. He had taught her to ride a bike. Had gone to father-daughter dances. Had helped her sell girl scout cookies to the whole locker room -- she’d always been the top seller in her troup. He was not prone to anger, but still, it was her father. There was something about the possibility of him being disappointed in her that made her incredibly nervous.</p><p> </p><p>

KC reached over and put his hand on her knee. He was supportive. He was calming. She had never seen him angry. Never seen him raise his voice. She liked that about him. Or loved it. Whatever the proper terminology is.</p><p> </p><p>

“It’s going to be okay.” He said to her. He meant it. She knew he was right, but what good is that? She knew that thunder was natural but it could still be unnerving. She nodded her head to him and she stood up.</p><p> </p><p>

It was a short walk to the office door. Her knuckles wrapped on it and she heard her father call out for her to enter. He didn’t know it was her, of course. She motioned for KC to follow her. He did.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="77R420p.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/77R420p.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Inside his office, her dad looked at him. “Marj.. KC… What’s going on?” He asked. His expression was blank. He had always been a hard man to read. He had learned to control his expressions for the ring. Learned how to emote and how not to emote. It made him very challenging to get a read on, even for his daughter.</p><p> </p><p>

“I...we… We need to tell you something, dad.” Marjorie said and she looked to KC for support. He nodded his support to her and reached for her hand. He squeezed it. This was her piece of news. He would let her deliver it.</p><p> </p><p>

Robert leaned forward. His elbows on his desk. “What? Is everything okay?” He asked. Now his face was a little more readable.</p><p> </p><p>

Marjorie nodded. “Yeah.. Everything is fine. It’s just.” She took a deep breath. She let it out. “Dad. I’m pregnant.”</p><p> </p><p>

The word hung there in the air. Heavy. Her father said nothing. Not for a long moment. He stood up and looked out his office window into the parking lot. He said nothing and she shifted on her feet. KC kept a hold of her hand as he turned around.</p><p> </p><p>

“I’m going to be a grandpa?” He asked and she nodded and smiled.</p><p> </p><p>

“Yes. You’re going to be a grandpa.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Does your mom know?”</p><p> </p><p>

Marjorie shook her head. “Not yet. I wanted to tell you first.”</p><p> </p><p>

He nodded. “This is… my God. This is fantastic. Congratulations.”</p><p> </p><p>

She knew he meant it. Suddenly all of nerves were gone. He reacted how she figured he would react and a weight was off her shoulders. It wasn’t a secret she and KC were keeping any longer.</p>

OM: At Gold Rush, I once again proved that I’m the bull of the woods. Again, I successfully defended My North American Championship. Again, I proved that there is not a man in this company who is my equal. I’m the most dominant wrestler on the planet, I’m the king of the mountain and no one can dethrone me. Ain’t noone got the moxy. Ain’t noone got the tenacity. The toughness. The fortitude. This is my fiefdom. They have all born witness to my greatness and I will never be stopped.</p><p> </p><p>

Ox is interrupted by a voice -- not any music. James Diaz is the owner of said voice.</p><p> </p><p>

JD: Hold on, hold on, hold on. I know you’re not out here talking that you’ve beaten every body.</p><p> </p><p>

OM: But I have, little Jimmy. I’m the man ‘round here. I’m the bull of these woods.</p><p> </p><p>

JD: You’ve been the man for almost a year. Nine successful title defenses. But what is a bull to a monster?</p><p>

Ox looks at Lisa who emphaticalley shakes her head no, but he ignores her.</p><p> </p><p>

OM: Excuse me? I’ve been dominating everything I’ve done your entire life. When you were still boiling in your father’s genitals I was a monster. When you were peeing your bed and scared of the dark, I was dominating. You think you’re man enough for me, boy? You think you can stand toe to toe with me?</p><p> </p><p>

JD: I won four matches in two days. I’ve survived everything thrown at me. I can handle you.</p><p> </p><p>

OM: Then at the Last Hard Men, let’s find out how tough you are, boy.</p><p>

"For a year and a half I carried you, Riley. For a year and a half I watched your back. I protected you -- often to my own detriment. I stood by you when your friend went to Japan. I stood by you when you alienated the locker room. I stood by you. You started to blame me for your own failures. You blamed me for you coming up short. You blamed me...But I will not be blamed. I am not the one, Riley and at Gold Rush I finally showed you... I showed you what it is going to be. I made you bleed, Riley. I left you a broken mess in the center of the ring. I let the world see that without me, The Cornerstone is just a decoration. I know you're still healing. I know you have not been medically cleared to be here and I hope, Riley, I sincerely hope, that you do not get cleared. Do not make the mistake of showing up here. Do not make the mistake at trying to stand in the ring with me, Riley. I will break you. I will end you. I will reduce The Cornerstone to rubble. Don't test me. You won't pass."</p><p>

BG: “Yo, yo, yo. It’s me, it’s me, it’s Brother G comin’ straight out of the L.B.C. And I’m rollin’ with the Gangsta Nation. My dog, Mister Long Beach, Cali Slick. The Hustla himself and the ultra-violent Sayeed Ali. The World’s Six Man Champs. I represent three men that were told they were too violent to be here. Too hardcore. Too unpredictable. Too street. Too likely to cut a mother… Nevermind that word. They been blacklisted from the big leagues ‘cause o’ their style. ‘Cause they too extreme. But now they’re the World Six Man Champs. Now they out here teachin’ lessons. That masked man. That luchador. That chicano from the barrio, El Heroe Mexicano he learned when Ali busted his knee up. He learned you don’t mess with us. ‘Cause we some gangstas. We ain’t ‘bout to be pushed ‘round. We ain’t ‘bout to be disrespected. You feel me? Everybody best be on notice. The garage door was open. The sun was shining. It was a beautiful late summer day in suburban Denver. Johnny Anderson sat behind the drum kit. His foot tapping the pedal to keep rhythm. His hands worked the sticks. Drumming was a skill harder than guitar. Less celebrated. Most people that were casual music fans could name famous guitar players. Eric Clapton. Carlos Santana. Eddie Van Halen. Slash. Stevie Ray Vaughn. Jimmy Page. Jimi Hendrix. Jeff Beck. David Gilmour. BB King. Those were ten on a list that could stretch on for minutes. People knew who was the lead guitarist in their favorite band. What drummers did people know? Dave Grohl? Ringo Starr? Maybe a couple of others. </p><p> </p><p>

Johnny loved playing the drums. It wasn’t as sexy as guitar. It didn’t get the attention as when his fingers moved down a slide and could turn a riff into legend. Drumming was visceral. It was full body. He could play drums and beads of sweat would drip down his face. His calves and knees would ache. His shoulders and hands would be sore. On a drum kit, he could work out his frustrations. He could work out his jealousy that Keith had February and Johnny didn’t have anyone consistent. He could work out anger at a spot he blew, or someone else blew. He had lost some of the guys he played with. Floyd had been sent to Amarillo to work for Texas Grappling League. Same with Luis. Johnny did have Tennessee William.</p><p> </p><p>

He had come to CWL after it became CWL. He had come when NYCW had shut down when the Eisen Empire swallowed them whole. William did not just play a musician on TV, he loved music. Particularly blues, classic rock, and classic country. Music that consumed your soul.</p><p> </p><p>

The only problem? William could only play the guitar and sing. Johnny could do everything. So with William, he played the drums. They had not been friends for long, but Johnny knew that they both had exclusive contracts with Continental Wrestling. They had three years on the deal. Three years to wrestle, drink some beer, ride some motorcycles, and play some music. This was the life Johnny had always wanted. Now he had it.</p>
