Official Game Thread- Barebones 4 Mafia (The Revival November 2018)

Until I see further evidence that the colors mean something in the write up, I’m working off the presumption that they’re just there to distinguish different characters in the overnight conversations and don’t link to roles. I saw a possible roleblock or two (depending on how you read one section), a couple folks with eyes out in the community watching and looking into things, and at least one person who had multiple visitors. Not a lot to start with, I know, and in a way it raises more questions than answers to me as a few sections can be read multiple ways. As for my hunches... So by this we're assuming that machinesxe is town right? Because if he was scum you wouldn't be suspicious of the late rally against him.

Didn't hear about any of the excitement until this morning. Have started to question my thoughts on the write-up but here's what my gut reactions were. The van scenario struck me as someone messing with off-brand trouble. Either the cult that's been mentioned or maybe SK. Didn't seem like obvious trouble would want to call attention to themselves by calling for help at night. The scene at the diner struck me as a protector based on the blue text of the person making the invitation and using the idea of being safe as part of the appeal to the person being invited. But the biggest thing to me was the dual person character represented in the orange text. I'm hoping that's more a Ninja Turtle in Cartoon Chaos situation and therefore indy Survivor type role as opposed to one where if she dies, he goes into a murderous SK rage. But with the reference to how text colors could be flavor rather than a solid indicator, that worries me about my first two thoughts. I'm glad only the one kill happened but with two options as to why the second didn't, it sure would feel better to have a sense which if either theory on the SK is valid.

In a field of 26, I generally think there’s a better than half chance that he’s town, maybe as high as 75% just by numbers alone. So yeah, I’m presuming he’s town until proven otherwise. Even a robot like yourself should see logically that the numbers are in favor of that stance, correct?

I'm working on the assumption that a kill was blocked. By the lack of anyone coming forward to claim that I'm concerned that it was a scum block...

Those that had things to do went to prepare for their nights and the ones that didn't go out at night walked briskly towards their homes almost like they knew the darkness was the signal for evil to ease out of the corners it had been hiding in during the light... Intro... _________________________________________________________________ He hurried across the street from the square, afterall he didn't have far to go. Even in a growing town his head quarter still held a spot of prominence in the center of town. He had watched intently all day to the interaction of the townsfolk and had picked out his aim for the evening. He finished filling out the proper forms and faxed them where they needed to go. Not sure...sort of a cop, investigator role....Mason? _________________________________________________________________ He hurried about making sure everything was as it should be. He wanted tonight to be successful. After everything that he needed was in place he looked out the window at the people leaving the square. He couldn't tell if who he needed was in or not. It hadn't gotten dark enough to see if the lights were on yet. Watcher I think. ________________________________________________________________ He slipped out of the trees. He made it to the van and quietly popped the hood, as not to alert the owner. He quickly removed the leads from the battery and placed it on the ground. He quietly closed the hood and picked up the battery and hurried back into the woods. Thief of Blocker....not sure about the Jailor role. Could be. ________________________________________________________________ He had seen him at the town square. He needed to know more. There was just something weird about the guy. He gave him enough time to get home and then he headed for his house. Tracker I think ________________________________________________________________ She made her way to the address. She waited where she could see the house. This role shouts Watcher ... got another idea about this... ________________________________________________________________ He watched from a distance. "What is he up to?" he whispered to himself. => see above...watcher nr2?? ________________________________________________________________ He had ran over to the diner to grab a bite to eat and seen the man he wanted, walk by. He hurriedly paid and went to catch up with him. As he walked down the sidewalk he heard someone say "I've been waiting on you." "Really for what? I'm kinda in a hurry." 'Never to busy to take care of yourself my good man." And with that he invited him inside. "Guess this will have to wait then." This one is the crux (Is that English?). Whatever was going on, it blocked the target on his ability. Cult? Roleblock? Scum Roleblock? _______________________________________________________________ He came out of the house and went to the van. He jumped in and put the key in. "Are you for real?" He got out and popped the hood. "Damnit!" He eased back in the woods and headed for home. He had seen what he needed. "Hello AAA, you're not going to believe this." Someone with an ability got targetted. At least I think that's the way to read it. Unless my English is not good enough and there's a third party involved in the easing into the woods write-up... ______________________________________________________________ They had stopped for ice cream on the way from the square. That was one of her favorite things to do. They rounded the corner onto the street they lived on. When suddenly she bumped into a man. "I'm sorry Miss. I shouldn't be in such a hurry. My apologies." "That's quite alright. No harm done." "Okay then, have a good evening you two." Not sure about this...could be a Cop role but it's plural. Scum Role Cop could be involved. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ He followed just out of site keeping to the shadows. He hoped he wouldn't be needed, but he was there in case he was. He had been following since they left the square. He had ducked between two houses when they turned the corner to take his spot in the shadows. He had seen the occupant of the house leave earlier. He went thru the papers on the desk looking for what he needed. "Ah, there it is." Wonder if this is Rev, otherwise a Thief role but see above..... ________________________________________________________________ When he got there for his appointment, the person he was there to see was in another room with someone else. Shortly, he was shown to a room. After a few minutes the person he had an appointment with came in. "What can I help you with today?" They discussed the issues and suggestions were made. During the course of their conversation, the visitor was able to gather the information that they had came for. Another strange case....not sure what this is about. ________________________________________________________________ He was running behind. He had left his notebook at home and to retrieve it. He was walking very fast almost running. "Man I'm going to be so late. Hope he doesn't change his mind about teaching me." He crossed the street and was startled by a man in a nice suit. "Hey kid where you headed in such a hurry?" "I am late. I am starting my studies this evening. I'm going to make a difference." "That sounds good and all, but I don't think that's gonna happen." "Well it won't if I don't get moving and get there." "Nah, I don't think you're getting what I'm saying." At that he pulled the .38 from under his arm and said, "Sorry kid. But orders are orders." Unless I missed something in the writeup, I get the feeling this is a fishing expedition for more info. Which I'm okay in these early stages. We'd already gotten what information we could from that push and I couldn't decide in time if I wanted to just lynch the distraction or give Outlaw the opportunity to replace him. When we lynched the distraction last game, we were a couple days in and Eayragt had been around prior. So it was easier to know it was a creeping distraction situation. On Day 1 as it was with Mach, that's a judgment call. And as Destiny noted, the chances of hitting town on a lynch that early are something like 75%. Did I really want to deny a potential replacement the chance to help us? Couldn't decide and ultimately time made the decision for me.

Astil, you're ruining my plan to lay low and do good things!

Gonna just say it straight up. I'm the jailer, I block/protect my targets. I targeted Antithesis last night on a hunch. And I'm 99% sure I stopped something bad for the town when I did that. I was hoping he'd come out and claim he was roleblocked so that we could lynch him without outing me OR I could sit on him for a while to make sure I was right about him. With only 1 kill someone was stopped from killing, otherwise the numbers for this game don't work.

So yeah.... we should probably lynch him.

Sorry I dipped out last couple days. Work got in the way. Lucky I didn’t get lynched though. A number of folks in that lynch group I find interesting as it was a fast push there. Keep your eyes on that.
