Pipers Pit
<iframe width="300" height="150" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BnD_UG_3bYo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> A video of last week’s happenings is shown to kick off the show. It spotlights the main event between Rey Mysterio and Hideo Itami, the subsequent attack by Murphy and the save by King Fenix. <iframe width="350" height="175" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/561eXf9H0uI" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The Coach and Booker welcome us to the show. They say we’ll see two debuts of new 205 Superstars and just before the show the office of the Chairman announced that following this show several matches for 205 Breakout will be announced on WWE.com! Mustafa Ali vs Miles Jordan Newcomer Jordan goes move for move with Ali. Both men employ a fast paced offense and go through several tit for tat reversals but in the end Jordan misses a big splash in the corner, allowing Ali to drop him with a DDT then finish him off with a 054 off the top. Winner by Pinfall: Mustafa Ali Kalisto and Lince Dorado are backstage with Cathy Kelley. She asks them about their House Party colleagues Sin Cara and Gran Metalik. Kalisto says he doesn’t know what’s gotten into them but he and Lince will not be disrespected or taken for fools. If it is a fight they want, it’s a fight they’ll get! Tony Nese vs Shane Strickland Nese uses his power to push Strickland around, but it doesn’t last long as Shane fights back stunning Nese with a roundhouse spinning heel kick. Strickland then shows off some high flying with a springboard dropkick and a tornado DDT before putting Nese away with a pop up double knee gutbuster. Winner by Pinfall: Shane Strickland We see a pair of women’s feet, again in heels, walking poolside. She stops at a lounge chair where a man is sunbathing. We only see him from the chest down. He’s white, tanned, and wearing a speedo type bathing trunks with a colorful peacock design. The woman apologizes for interrupting him and informs him that the first class transportation has been arranged and everything is ready for his debut. He thanks her in a lazy tone before telling her it doesn’t matter who the opponent is, he’ll shine as always. Zack Sabre Jr. vs TJP Sabre is in full control and puts on a textbook example of several wrestling forms from strong style to submissions to a ground attack slowing things down. When he’s got TJP worn down, he nails the Sabre Driver for the win. Winner by Pinfall: Zack Sabre Jr. Suddenly Lio Rush sprints to the ring, Cruiserweight title in hand. He tries to hit Sabre in the head with it but Sabre ducks and hits a series of rapid kicks to the gut which sends Rush to the outside. As Sabre urges him to get back in, Rush stays on the outside in pain, telling Sabre he’s got a “big surprise” for him at Breakout. Kimberly
<iframe width="300" height="150" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BnD_UG_3bYo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> NXT opens with a highlight video of last week where the American Wolves debuted, challenged The Undisputed Era, highlights from the match itself and the shocking return of Paul Ellering and the Authors of Pain. Rating: 7.0 We see a "earlier today" video where Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong are arriving to NXT. Kyle gathers the troops and says "with Cole coming back next week, we need to plow the road. Tonight, let's make an impact." They high five and enter the building. Rating: 7.6 <iframe width="300" height="150" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sX2jayQXgyQ" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="350" height="150" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DNf4N_ObvTI" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The Authors of Pain w/Paul Ellering make their way to the ring. As they come out, we see a lower third where Paul Ellering is with the AOP and says that he brought back his Authors of Pain to right the wrongs of NXT. Last week was a warning as these two hapless victims are about to find out. Rating: 2.9 This match is just pure dominance as the AOP take their turns pummeling Christian York first who then tags in his partner, John Skyler, to avoid the abuse. The AOP nearly destroy Skyler who begins to beg for York to team in. York, terrified, refuses and drops down from the apron, hops the guardrail and takes off through the fans. Skyler is left alone and soon is nailed with The Last Chapter for the 3 count. Winners by pinfall: The Authors of Pain Rating: 4.6 A graphic is then played showing that Eddie Edwards & Davey Richards – The American Wolves – will be in action next week on NXT. Rating: 5.4 We are taken back to NXT TakeOver: New York and see stills of Jay Lethal capturing the NXT Championship from Tommaso Ciampa. The new NXT Champion will be on hand later tonight. Rating: 7.3 Deonna dazzles early and gives Io a run for her money. She scores with a standing moonsault into a Scorpion Death Drop for a near fall. But, when Deonna tries a suicide dive, Io moves out of the way and Purrazzo crashes into the ring barrier. From there its’s all Io and soon, Shirai nails The Trifecta (a moonsault from each rope in sequence) for the 3 count. Winner by pinfall: Io Shirai Rating: 5.7 Following Io’s win, Shayna Baszler comes down to the ring and attacks Io from behind. She locks in the Kirifuda on Shirai until Kairi Sane runs out with a chair and chases off the former women’s champion. As promised, Shayna has attacked another woman. Rating: 7.3 We go to a highlight video of new NXT Women's Champion, Nikki Cross showing her punishing moves while we hear her say "fun" over and over again. It ends with a graphic saying "Nikki Cross - Next Week". Rating: 7.5 This is a stiff back and forth match with Lee able to use his massive frame to keep Riddle down. After a missed splash, the King of Bros is able to rally back and manages to do a Judo Throw on Lee. Soon, Riddle has locked Keith into the Bro-Mission and Lee struggles to hang on but, soon must tap out. Winner by submission: Matt Riddle Rating: 5.6 After his win, Matt Riddle grabs a microphone. He puts over how tough Keith Lee is and how much the Bro respects Keith. But, one man who doesn’t have Riddle’s respect is Dominik Dijakovic. Riddle says that he is sick of Dijakovic’s fakeness and if Dominik is a man, he will face Riddle one more time….BRO. Rating: 5.2 A promotional video airs of The Perfect 10 Tye Dillinger. It focuses on him nearly winning at NXT TakeOver and on how he is working his way back in NXT. Rating: 5.4 New NXT Champion Jay Lethal comes out and begins to cut a promo of how his biggest dream came true in NYC. He talks about the long road and the ups and downs that he took to get to this point. The champ says that every single hardship was worth it when he won THE premiere trophy in professional wrestling just over the river from his home. Lethal begins to say who he would like as his new challenger but then pauses and looks confused when Tessa Blanchard walks down to the ring. Lethal asks her what's going on and she stares and then smiles just as Rodderick Strong, Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly jump the railing and bumrush the ring. Before Lethal knows what is going on, he is being assaulted. The champion tries to fight back but the numbers are too strong and Lethal is beaten down. Cue…. <iframe width="350" height="150" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zaPnhZtcu8w" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> With Lethal barely conscious and being held up, Cole comes down with a referee. He high-fives Tessa along the way. He walks into the ring and tells the ref "NOW". The ref goes to the announcer and it is announced that Adam Cole chooses now for his title opportunity. The following contest is for the NXT Championship. Rating: 7.7 Cole mockingly waits for Lethal to stand and then charges and nails a running knee to the champion’s head. Cover 1…. 2……. LETHAL KICKS OUT. The champion makes a last stand and swings for the challenger but, Cole mockingly moves out of the way as Lethal is so hurt. Cole picks Lethal up and drops the champ head first on his knee with the Last Shot. Adam Cole covers...1....2....3. Winner by pinfall and NEW NXT Champion: Adam Cole Rating: 6.7 Following the win, the new NXT Champion is handed the title while the rest of the Undisputed Era and Tessa Blanchard enter the ring. Cole hugs his buddies who then open up the big bear hug and bring Tessa in. It is clear she is now a member of the Undisputed Era! All five stand tall with the new champ taking center stage as NXT goes off the air. Rating: 7.4 Overall: 6.

Oh, he is. I promise that is a story that will play out. There is a reason for it and I’m willing to bet Lethal will get revenge down the road. Thanks for checking us out! Lana is put down for the count with an argentine facebuster for the three count. Winner by Pinfall: Bianca Belair Bianca doesn’t have much time to enjoy her victory. Before Paige can even enter the ring, Sasha Banks runs down and slides in the ring. Bianca has her back to Sasha and is in perfect position for the Backstabber followed by the Banks Statement. Bianca is wildly tapping but Sasha cranks back before releasing it. Bianca rolls out to Paige as Sasha smiles in the ring. Charly Caruso is backstage with Dolph Ziggler. His mood is morose to say the least. She asks him about the attack by his former friend Drew McIntyre but Ziggler cuts her off. He says he doesn’t have friends because he’s spent his career either being the guy who stabbed people in the back or was the guy who got stabbed. He wonders aloud why he’s even at RAW or in the WWE. Before she can ask another question he shakes his head and wanders off. The announcers hype the upcoming match at Backlash with RVD and Elias. Graves expresses concern for Elias in an Extreme Rules Match. Extreme Rules Match Elias vs Fandango Elias enjoys the freedom of anything goes in this Extreme Rules warmup and abuses Fandango throughout. He collects his guitar as Fandango is on the mat and climbs to the top intent to deliver a blow when Fandango stands but suddenly the crowd pops as RVD runs down and distracts Elias. It’s just enough time for Fandango to wrestle the guitar away and crowd Elias with it. Elias topples to the mat and Fandango makes the cover 123. Winner by Pinfall: Fandango RVD poses on the stage as Elias stares daggers at him from the ring. Graves says RVD will regret what he’s done here tonight. United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura walks up to RAW C.E.O. Shane McMahon. Nakamura tells Shane he wants to discuss his future on RAW and Shane agrees, telling him they can talk in a little bit. Nakamura says he’ll be waiting in his locker room and leaves with a grin. The Usos are hanging out backstage when they’re suddenly blindsided by the Revival. The Tag champions hold the advantage and are pummeling the Usos when suddenly…… the Revival come under attack by the Hall of Famer Arn Anderson who is armed with a tire iron. He gets in a few whacks to the champs and chases them off before checking on the Usos. We see a replay of last week when AJ Styles approached the New Day asking for a rematch to their six man tag the week before. AJ Styles w/The Club vs Kofi Kingston w/The New Day A great match between these two with both teams on the outside wanting toact like lumberjacks which only raises the tension between all involved. AJ and Kofi trade the momentum all match long but when Gallows trips Kofi as he nears the ropes it causes enough of a distraction that allows Styles to roll Kingston up from behind for the win. Winner by Pinfall: AJ Styles The Club and New Day hit the ring as soon as the bell rings and are in each other’s faces. AJ and Kofi get in the middle and get their own men to calm down a little. The announcers hype the six man tag match this Sunday at Backlash. Bobby Roode and Nia Jax are with Charly Caruso. They say tonight will just serve as a preview for Sunday when they will take those championships from the two paper champions. Nia goes on to say that rules be damned, if Braun Strowman wants to go one on one tonight she won’t be hard to find. Naomi vs Tamina Naomi starts fast in this one to keep Tamina on the defense but it doesn’t last. Tamina’s power comes into play and she’s soon ragdolling Naomi around the ring. She finishes the match with a Superfly Splash from the top. Winner by Pinfall: Tamina Natalya sprints down to the ring and as Tamina is climbing to the top to deliver another splash Natalya launches her off the top with a press slam. Tamina lands with a thud and rolls out holding her back as Natalya screams for her to come back and fight. Dean Ambrose appears backstage and stops in front of Shinsuke Nakamura’s locker room. He enters and we can see he turns the lights off. When the door shuts we hear the sound of the chair hitting something with a thud and Ambrose shouting about payback. Following the commercial, medical staff are attending to Shane McMahon as Dean Ambrose paces in the hallway. He tells Shane that it was an accident and that he was looking for Nakamura but Shane isn’t having it. He tells Ambrose that he is suspended indefinitely and he tells security to throw him out of the building. As Ambrose is marched away the camera pans to see Nakamura around a corner from what just happened with a big smirk. Becky Lynch and Braun Strowman are warming up backstage. Becky asks Braun is he’s going to take Nia up on her offer. He says he was born not to hit a lady, but Becky assures him Nia is no lady but says he won’t have to lift a finger because tonight it’s the Man’s hands that she’ll be getting. Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano vs Heath Slater and Rhyno Ciampa and Gargano show off in this one from start to finish using several dirty double team maneuvers behind the referee’s back. They spend the match wearing down and punishing Slater, finally finishing him off with the double kick to the head. Winner by Pinfall: Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano Ciampa and Gargano grab mics after the match talking about how run down RAW is and how American Alpha was their first project. But now they’re looking for the next. Suddenly the lights in the arena go out. When they come back on Jordan and Gable are up on the top rope in opposite corners. They both nail missile dropkicks which send Ciampa and Gargano to the outside. American Alpha is spoiling for a fight but they won’t get it tonight. Braun Strowman and Becky Lynch are walking side by side backstage headed to the ring. Their match is next! The announcers run down the card for this Sunday’s Backlash. Braun Strowman and Becky Lynch vs Bobby Roode and Nia Jax The match begins with Strowman and Roode but Roode is quickly sent to the outside. Braun slips out and begins to chug around ringside but Nia steps in his way. A momentart standoff developes until Becky comes flying through the ropes with a suicide dive into Nia. The match continues with the women getting tagged in but Nia wants to bring a chair in. The referee stops her and takes it away but she splashes him in the corner when he turns his back. Now it’s a free for all. Chaos ensues as all four participants are brawling around the ring and the referee is still down. As Strowman and Roode move to the outside, Nia splashes Becky in the corner and collects the chair which is still in the ring. She wedges the chair in front of Becky’s face and moves to the opposite corner. As the referee comes to, Nia sprints towards Becky and uses her hip to smash the chair into her face. The referee calls for the bell. Winners by Disqualification: Braun Strowman and Becky Lynch As Nia looms over a hurt Becky Lynch, Braun Strowman throws Roode over the top rope into the ring and clumbs back in. Braun has got Roode in the opposite corner by the throat. Nia walks up and hits a low blow from behind. Doubled over, Strowman is in perfect position for a Glorious DDT. With both champions down, Roode and Jax raise each other’s hands in the air. Tonight belongs to the challengers. Overall:

Hawkins takes offense and calls Lashley back. Lashley seems amused and tells them if they have a problem they can settle it tonight in the ring. Hawkins agrees while Ryder is looking at him like he’s crazy. Lashley smirks and moves on as Hawkins begins to explain why this is a good thing. <iframe width="350" height="175" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qFsNiWWBrgY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Pinnacle Bank Arena---Lincoln, NE 16,130 in Attendance <iframe width="400" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TWz__Scx16I" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Charlotte Flair and Kharma come down to the ring. She says that every time she thinks she’s left the hasbeen known as Asuka in the past, she turns up like a bad penny. Asuka does not deserve to be in the same ring as the Queen, let alone wear this championship so it’s time to put an end to this. Charlotte challenges Asuka to meet her in the ring next week so this can be finally be done with. Lars Sullivan vs Sterling Riegel Sullivan makes his in ring debut by obliterating this poor man. After a few minutes Lars ends it with the Freak Accident and pins him with a giant hand over the man’s face. Winner by Pinfall: Lars Sullivan Heavy Machinery are in catering as a group of people watch Otis eating an ungodly amount of food. EC3 and Drake Maverick wander in and begin berating the tag champs for being slobs. Otis stands, looks between them, and says they’re right. He’s being selfish and he was raised to share. He picks up his plate and goes to smash it in EC3s face but he ducks and it ends up in the face of Maverick. Everyone, even EC3, begins to laugh at the distraught Maverick. Lacey Evans is working out backstage when the IIConics approach. They begin mocking her and antagonizing her until Lacey gets up in their faces. She says she was wondering if they still worked here since she beat them both already but if they want another go how about next month at Battleground? Peyton says if she’s so confidant, maybe it should be a handicap match. Lacey smirks and says that’s fine because when she’s done with them, that word will describe them perfectly! She walks off leaving Billie and Peyton looking offended. Bobby Lashley vs Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins As Ryder and Hawkins walk down to the ring Lashley attacks from behind. With both men dazed he batters one, then the other. The referee urges Lashley to back off but he rams Hawkins into the post. The match never really begins and the referee signals it won’t begin. No Contest. Lashley rolls Ryder into the ring and sets him up for a Dominator when…… <iframe width="400" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XkGbuIySDto" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Apollo Crews runs down and slides in. Lashley drops Ryder and backs off. Crews stares down Lashley before his gaze softens and the two share a smile. Crews suddenly picks up Ryder on his shoulders and delivers a backdrop powerbomb. Curt Hawkins tries to intervene but Crews kicks him low then whips him towards Lashley who spears him. Crews and Lashley shake hands and raise their arms. McAfee asks Renee if anyone can stop these two. <iframe width="400" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xm7FR8RstNc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Bray Wyatt is seated on a round carpet with a group of children. He asks them if they’re ready for story time. They all cheer and he begins to read and as he does his voice modulates in a creepy and demonic tone. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority. One of the girls on the carpet begins to cry and Wyatt asks her why. She says her grandfather died and she misses him. Wyatt tells her not to cry because he’s with all his friends and family and she’ll see him again one day. She asks how he can be sure and he says because he died once. He died and he met a friend from a long time ago but he came back. And she’s coming back too. The scene twists and turns like a funhouse mirror with quick glimpses of Wyatt wearing a devilish mask before the screen goes black for a few seconds before we see a closeup of Wyatt’s face and he asks for us to let him in. Kassius Ohno is with Kayla Braxton. He says that he’s spent his career making statements and the one he made at the expense of Velveteen Dream is clear. That title belongs to him, he wants it, and he’s going to take it and he can do it any time he wants. Suddenly the Intercontinental Champion Dream walks up with a smirk. He says he got that message loud and clear but to be fair he has a message of his own. He tells Ohno that he’s just not good enough to take it before slapping him across the face. As Dream moves away Ohno rubs his cheek and stares coldly in the direction of the champ. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville w/Alexa Bliss vs Carmella and Ember Moon Alexa Bliss pays dividends on the outside for her Olympus friends. Whenever Carmella or Ember gets something going Bliss helps distract allowing Mandy or Sonya to recover. But soon Ember gets hot and has Mandy in position for the Eclipse when Alexa gets involved again, shoving her off the top. Mandy takes advantage and hits a lifting butterfly facebuster for the win. Winners by Pinfall: Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville Olympus isn’t done as they use their numbers advantage to attack Ember and Carmella after the match before standing above their fallen opponents. Andrade Almas w/The Cartel vs R-Truth Andrade has very little trouble with Truth in this one much in part to his personal lumberjacks who hammer Truth every time he’s thrown to the outside with an assist to Zelina for distracting the ref. Andrade puts him away with a hammerlock DDT. Winner by Pinfall: Andrade Almas The Cartel hit the ring and surround Truth. Andrade tells Dagan to pick up Truth but before Andrade can act on it the crowd pops. Seth Rollins, chair in hand, comes running down to the ring and slides in. A few swings of the chair sends the Cartel to safer ground as the Kingslayer holds the ring. We’re shown a replay of the attack by Samoa Joe on Finn Balor last week. McIntyre and Joe beat Reigns down for several moments until the WWE Champion arrives. Balor begins cleaning house, giving Reigns enough time to recover and then its two on two. Reigns clotheslines McIntyre over the top as Balor superkicks Joe in the face sending him through the ropes. The heroes hold the ring but its clear these fights aren’t over. Overall: Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns A true battle back and forth, both men hit their opponent with some brutal moves and have several false finishes. Finally the action spills to the outside. Joe attempts to put on the Kokina but Reigns runs him back into the post then hits the Superman Punch. Reigns can’t take futher advantage though because as he turns to the ramp, Drew McIntyre runs down and nails him with a Claymore Kick causing a disqualification. Winner by Disqualification: Roman Reigns

Kimberly
Good to see the cruiserweights having more attention here than WWE will ever give them. I'm inspired by the lack of burnout from so many shows All the credit in the world to my partner - he has it worse than I do and does an amazing job. I only have two hours a week to write, he writes six. The star of this project is PP.

Graves says that tonight the Universal Championship will go from monsterous to glorious. Cole sends us to the ring where we’re kicking it off with the RAW Tag Team Championship. The Revival © vs The Usos A good back and forth match in the beginning but the Usos begin to pull away. Dawson is in trouble as the Usos use smooth tags to isolate him and they hit the double superkick but at the last second Wilder breaks it up. The Revival regroup on the outside and decide they’ve had enough for tonight. Grabbing their belts they begin walking up the ramp but they stop when someone walks out from the back. Arn Anderson, tire iron in hand, begins walking towards them and the Revival are backpedaling right into the Usos who attack and throw them back in the ring. A short four man brawl erupts and the Revival get the better of it. Arn climbs onto the apron and begins jawwing with Dawson. Dawson grabs Arn but Jimmy Uso intercepts him and shoves him away. Without warning Anderson whacks Jimmy in the back of the head with the tire iron! The referee doesn’t see it because he’s dealing with Wilder and Jey. Dawson quickly helps his partner dump Jey to the outside then they deliver the Shatter Machine to Jimmy who’s already pretty much out of it for the win. Winners by Pinfall and still RAW Tag Team Champions: The Revival We’re shown a eplay of Arn Anderson turning on the Usos and costing them the match with the aid of a tire iron Backstage we see Shane McMahon speaking to nearly a dozen security guys. He says Dean Ambrose is suspended and if he comes backstage he is to be arrested. They all say they understand and disperse while Shane looks concerned. Becky Lynch is in her locker room. She looks into the camera and says that tonight she is putting an end to Nia Jax because it seems like every time she’s ready to take the next step Nia is always in her way. A broken face before Survivor Series. A match at Fastlane meant to force her out of her WrestleMania destiny. And now that the Man is the champ here’s Nia again. Well no more. Tonight the Man enters the ring with this belt and she walks out with the belt and then it’s on to bigger and better. Nia, tonight you will tap and you will be humbled. And to paraphrase another great champion….’cause the Man says so. Rob Van Dam vs Elias The match is what you would expect. The participants visit under the ring more than once to find weapons. RVD makes use of a chair, while Elias eventually gets his hands on a kendo stick, but things really heat up when RVD pulls out a ladder. They brawl in and out of the ring a few more minutes before RVD puts Elias on the Spanish announcer’s table. RVD sets up the ladder and climbs to the top. He gives the ‘R-V-D’ gesture and leaps off with a frog splash but Elias rolls off the table early and Van Dam crashes through the table. Elias brings Van Dam back to the ring and goes for a cover but there is a kickout at two. Elias picks up Van Dam and begins to set up RVD for a piledriver but Elias is backdropped. Van Dam begins taking control when Elias hits a blatant low kick. Van Dam drops to his knees and Elias takes the moment to retrieve his guitar from the corner before breaking it over the head of RVD. Elias makes the cover and gets the win. Winner by Pinfall: Elias A replay of the highlights of the match is shown giving special attention to RVD going through the table and then the final blow coming by way of the guitar.. We see Universal Champion Braun Strowman backstage and he’s in a foul mood. Strowman destroys everything around him before yelling out Roode’s name and storming off. Charly Caruso is backstage with Shinsuke Nakamura. She asks him about his involvement in setting up Dean Ambrose leading to his suspension but Nakamura denies it and says he cannot be held responsible for a lunatic. Ambrose attacked Shane McMahon and he’s being held responsible. She asks him if he’s afraid of Ambrose and Nakamura loses his smile for a moment. He tells her that he didn’t look afraid when he left Ambrose laying in the ring, did he? He walks away with the smile returned. Sasha Banks w/Bayley vs Bianca Belair w/Paige These two go back and forth with half the match being wrestling and the other half a cat fight. Paige tries to get involved early on by attacking Sasha on the outside but Bayley intercepts her and it's clear this looks to be one on one. Sasha regains control and puts Bianca through the wringer but Belair kicks out of a pin attempt. Sasha and Bianca spill out to the ringside area and again Paige tries to get involved but Bayley comes from behind and puts her in a bearhug from behind carrying her away from the brawl. Bianca runs Sasha into the ringpost and rolls her back in the ring but Sasha kicks out at two. Growing frustrated, Bianca goes to the top rope but Sasha crotches her and climbs to the top. Meanwhile Paige has broken away from Bayley and slid into the ring Bayley follows but the referee stops her. Behind the referee’s back, Paige clips Sasha behind her right knee in the midst of the superplex and Bianca lands on top of her. The referee turns once he has Bayley out of the ring and makes the three count. Winner by Pinfall: Bianca Belair Charly Caruso tracks down the Revival and Arn Anderson backstage who are in a great mood. She asks Arn why he did what he did and he tells her to look at the two men beside him. Not since he was in that ring wearing gold around his waist as he watched two men with the vision and the focus to succeed in this business like the Revival. They represent the past and the future and if you don’t like those belts around their waists, that’s too damn bad, because you’re gonna see it for a long long time to come. The New Day are in their locker room and they hype themselves up for their six man tag rematch with the Club tonight. Big E cuts a sermon-esque speech and says that tonight not only will the New Day rock the Enterprise Center they will also spread the gospel of positivity. They carry on for a few more moments in the same vein. American Alpha vs Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa American Alpha gives Ciampa and Gargano a special welcome to the WWE in their first match by controlling the action early on with phenomenal athleticism and quick tags. When one of the heels tries to come in he’s sent to the outside with a clothesline or a dropkick. Their luck doesn’t last forever as Ciampa take a cheap shot behind the referee’s back and grabs the momentum. Gargano and Ciampa are a well oiled machine as they go to work on Jordan in their corner. Gable does make the tag but the referee didn’t see it and he forces him back. This allows more double teaming but Jordan finds a second win and dives to make a legit tag. Gable is in and taking on both opponents. Soon Jordan is back and it’s two on two. Jordan and Gargano both tumble over the top leaving Ciampa and Gable as the legal men. Gable’s background gives him the advantage in reversals but it’s hard to reverse a blatant poke in the eye. It slows Gable down and that’s the opening Ciampa needed. He kicks Gable deep in the gut and delivers Project Ciampa. Jordan tries to get in to break up the pinfall but Gargano holds onto his ankle to stop it. Winners by Pinfall: Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa Bobby Roode is with Charly Caruso. Roode asks her if she saw Braun Strowman’s behavior earlier. He takes pride in having pushed the Monster to this point and says it's all part of the plan. Tonight Braun Strowman will be so unfocused and will make so many mistakes that he’ll virtually give away the Universal Championship to a man who will represent RAW the way it ought to be. With class and dignity. And tomorrow night he’ll walk out to the ring and he’ll tell the world how GLORIOUS this night truly was! A video is shown recapping the long standing dislike between Becky Lynch and Nia Jax ahead of their RAW Womens Championship match. Becky Lynch © vs Nia Jax Nia charges Becky before the bell even rings but Becky dodges it and begins laying into Nia with punches and chops and kicks but after a few moments Nia slings Becky across the ring to clear the cobwebs. Becky charges right into a big boot to the face. From there Nia begins to punish the champion, using her size and power to wear Lynch down. When Nia thinks she’s done enough she slaps on a bear hug in the middle of the ring. Becky looks like she’s fading but on the third attempt of dropping her hand she comes alive with a second wind. She releases a flurry of right hands into the side of Nia’s head and the bearhug is broken. Becky retreats to a corner holding her back but she’s really lurring in Nia and the challenger takes the bait. Nia charges into the corner and Becky trips her causing Nia to smash her face into the middle turnbuckle. Nia is stunned and wavering on her feet. Becky climbs to the second rope and flies off with a bulldog. With Nia face down in the middle of the ring Becky applies the DisArmHer and Nia has to tap. Winner by Submission and still RAW Womens Champion: Becky Lynch Becky climbs the ropes with her belt held high. As the fans cheer Nia gets to her feet holding onto her injured arm, looking like she’s ready to cry. But as soon as Becky drops down to the mat Nia charges and avalanches her in the corner. Becky crumbles to her knees but tries to pull herself up to her feet and Nia charges again. Becky is sprawled on the mat and Nia goes to the outside, yanking Becky to the floor by her legs. Nia collects a chair and begins wearing it out on the back of the champion. The referee tries to take it away but she slings him into the ring post. Nia’s eyes look wild as she picks up Becky by her hair and delivers a powerbomb onto the ring apron. Officials flood ringside and force Nia away. A few moments later an EMS crew comes down to ringside and takes Becky away on a stretcher. MIchael Cole and Corey Graves hype the next RAW Pay Per View coming the third week of July. It’s the return of the Great American Bash! We see a smirking Shinsuke Nakamura exiting the building but that smirk vanishes and when the camera pans we see his luxury car destroyed. The windows are smashed, the tires are slashed, and as if we have to wonder who did this, a symbol is spray painted on the hood. Nakamura looks around before letting loose with string of what sounds like Japanese cursing. The New Day vs The Club The last time these six men met in battle the New Day came out on top. It’s clear the Club remember that because they start the match all business and isolate Kofi, then Xavier in their corner. The Club use quick tags to revolve their legal man and once or twice Anderson and Gallows may take a shortcut to keep the momentum. Woods finds an opening when Gallows tries an elbow drop from the second rope and misses. Woods drags himself to his corner and right after Anderson is tagged in Big E gets the hot tag. Big E is a man possessed as he throws around all three members of the Club. His power seems unmatched and once he’s paved the road his partners join in. It’s a six man brawl. Woods and AJ tumble to the outside and as Big E zeroes in on Gallows, Kofi makes a blind tag just as Big E spears Gallows through the ropes. Kofi climbs to the top and flies off with a cross body block on Anderson. The referee is busy with the other chaos and doesn’t see Gallows slides in and drop a leg across the back of Kofi’s head. He rolls Anderson on top and it’s only now that the ref sees it and makes the count to three. Winners by Pinfall: The Club The New Day are understandable disappointed but it’s Kofi who walks up to the Club and offers his hand. Soon all six men are shaking hands and the crowd gives these men their due for their performance. Cole and Graves hype the upcoming Universal Championship match between Braun Strorwman and Bobby Roode. Braun Strowman © vs Bobby Roode As soon as the bell rings Roode rushes across the ring and begins laying into Strowman with punches and kicks and chops but Strowman just stares down at him. Roode’s usually gloating persona fades as he realizes he’s in trouble. He backs off and tries to leave the ring but Strowman catches him by his trunks and begins going to town on the challenger. Roode sells every strike like it broke a bone. Strowman stalks Roode like a predator but makes a mistake when he charges into the corner and hits nothing but turnbuckles. With Strowman stunned Roode clips his knee and begins focusing on the legs. Roode uses the full extent of the referee’s five count as he uses every underhanded tactic he can without getting disqualified. Strowman begins to fight back but Roode kicks him in the knee again, and when Strowman drops his head Roode hits the Glorious DDT. Roode makes the cover but Strowman not only kicks out at two he bench presses Roode off him. Roode looks shocked and goes back to beating on Strowman but the champion is rising to his feet. Roode goes for another kick to the knee but Strowman catches his leg and nearly decapitates him with a clothesline. Strowman raises his arm with a monsterous scream and from there it’s bad news for Roode. Strowman overpowers him with several power moves before scooping him up and delivering the powerslam for the 123. Winner by Pinfall and still WWE Universal Champion: Braun Strowman Stowman is handed his belt and raises it high in the air when suddenly three men wearing matching black clothing and matching masks jump the barrier and attack him in the ring. The bigger of the men clips that already targeted knee. All three men begin stomping Strowman. When he begins to show signs of getting up one slides to the outside and collects some chairs. They all begin bashing Strowman over the back with the chairs. He keeps trying to get up but after another round of chair shots the champion is down and out. The three men stand over him and remove their masks. The crowd goes wild when they see Owens, Zayn, and Bryan. Cole questions what this means for RAW going forward and Cole answers that it means big trouble for Braun Strowman. Cole reminds everyone to tune into RAW tomorrow night for the aftermath. Bryan says that some people were surprised about what happened at Backlash but even more people want to know why. The fact that so many people cannot figure it out on their own tells Bryan that he was right when he said that the WWE Universe is full of morons. Sami takes the microphone and says that the answer to the question is a matter of simple respect. The men in the ring have decades of experience. They honed their craft all over the world. As they saying goes they paid their dues. They spilled blood, sweat and tears in trying to earn a spot in the big time. And what else do they have in common? None of them are champions right now. And who is? Some dumb oaf who picked up heavy things. He’s the champion, he’s the focus. Well. they’ve had enough. Owens is handed the microphone. He says that they are on a shared mission. Whether it’s Daniel Bryan or Sami Zayn or himself. They will not rest until one of them is the new Universal Champion and that no talent counterfeit champion goes back to where he belongs! <iframe width="400" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tbXM5HxP4Lg" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Shane McMahon comes to the stage. He says if they think they’re worthy of the Universal Championship then they won’t mind some competition. So tonight all of them will be in action and Sami? His match starts right now! Sami Zayn vs Rusev w/Lana Rusev is in control early on with his strength and power as he punishes Zayn. Zayn pushes all the begging heel buttons but bides his time until Rusev makes a mistake, this time on the outside when he charges Zayn but ends up running into the post. Zayn takes over and ends up closing out the match with a Helluva Kick. Winner by Pinfall: Sami Zayn Backstage the Riott Squad is roaming around when they stop next to Mickie James. They ridicule her for her age with several elderly insults. Mickie gets in Ruby’s face and tells her to meet her in the ring tonight so she can see first hand this ‘old lady’ kick her ass. The Riotts move away with Ruby only nodding. Backstage Elias is walking around with his chest puffed out following his victory the night before. He’s grabbing random things from the people he passes and signing his autograph. Finally he comes to Cesaro and he grabs the paper out of his hand and signs it. He tells Cesaro to put it in a special place because it’s going to be worth alot. Cesaro looks at it, shrugs, and crumples the paper throwing it away as he walks off. Elias goes wide eyed and incredulous. Natalya vs Alicia Fox Natalya makes quick work of Alicia in a fight which is only a step above an enhancement match. Alicia taps wildly once Natalya puts her in the Sharpshooter. Winner by Submission: Natalya Natalya’s attention is immediately drawn to the stage where Tamina comes out. She walks down the ramp and crawls onto the apron. Natalya is ready for a fight but Tamina drops down and just smiles, shaking her head and telling Natalya she’ll pick the time and place. United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura is seen busting out of his locker room looking both ways and seems in a bit of a panic. Charly Caruso is nearby and asks him what the problem is. He tells her he cannot find his championship belt. She asks if he knows anyone who might have taken it. He looks at her for a moment before running off yelling for Dean Ambrose. Michael Cole makes mention that Dean Ambrose is still suspended and shouldn’t even be in the building. <iframe width="400" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KUMFOJc0cD8" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The crowd comes to its feet for the RAW Womens Champion but after a few moments boos begin to rain down when they see it’s not Becky Lynch who has come out. Nia Jax makes her way down to the ring with a big smirk on her face. She gets a microphone and asks if they were expecting the Man. She tells them they might have a wait a bit because if earlier was any indication Becky is still hobbling into the arena. Nia goes on to talk about how she may have lost the match but she broke the Man. She then tells the crowd that the next time she gets her hands on Becky that RAW Womens Championship will be back where it belongs. Becky Lynch has heard all she is going to hear from Nia Jax and comes out onto the stage but before she can head down to the ramp Shane McMahon and some security run out and stop her. As Nia taunts her in the ring Shane tells Becky he knows she’s hurt and that she checked herself out of the hospital against doctor’s advice and he is not going to allow her to further injure herself. He tells Becky she needs to leave and she will not be back in the ring until she’s cleared by WWE Doctors. The Man is more than frustrated by this news but she’s physically able to fight her way to the ring so he merely stares coldly at Nia, promising silent revenge. Cesaro vs Daniel Bryan This match has instant classic written all over it. They go move for move, trading the momentum and neither man getting too much of an advantage. Cesaro hits the big swing for 15 revolutions and Bryan rolls out of the ring. Cesaro follows and puts Bryan back in. As the ref turns to check on Bryan, Elias runs down. He shoves Cesaro into the apron. When he turns around, Elias hits Drift Away and hides. The referee turns but sees Cesaro down and begins the count. Cesaro is on his feet at 9 ½ but just misses the ten count. Winner by Countout: Daniel Bryan Big E and Xavier Woods are walking backstage and look ready to fight. The four team match to name new number one contenders for the RAW Tag Team Championship is next! As we come back from break we see the Revival and Arn Anderson watching a monitor as they scout their next set of opponents. Number One Contenders Elimination Match The Club vs The New Day vs DIY vs American Alpha The match begins at a fast pace with all teams getting a tag and getting some offense in. Gallows finally ends up with Woods and nails him with the Boot of Doom. Big E tries to break it up but Ciampa and Gargano smartly block him and the New Day is eliminated. Ciampa spends some time trash talking American Alpha as he becomes the legal man, reminding them of their loss the night before. DIY takes the match over working over Anderson and then Jordan when he makes the tag. Gargano comes in and and eventually works against Gallows who forces his way into the match. DIY begins double teaming him legally and illegally. Just as they put him down Gable makes a blind tag off of Gargano and hits a moonsault off the top for the three count. The Club is eliminated. Now it’s a rematch from Backlash and the teams begin where they left off. DIY takes control, again reminding American Alpha of what they are in store for but Jordan digs deep and fights back. Gable gets the tag and now its seamless offense and pure athleticism. Ciampa tries to come in to break up the momentum but Gable intercepts him and sends him through the ropes with a picture perfect dropkick as Jordan hits a belly to belly suplex on Gargano before slapping on the ankle lock. Gargano is trapped in the middle of the ring and taps. DIY is eliminated. Winners by Submission: American Alpha The announcers discuss the surprise attack on Universal Champion Braun Strowman the night before at Backlash by Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan. Graves points out they’re two for two tonight with Kevin Owens left to come in tonight’s main event. We see Sasha walking backstage and she looks like she’s headed to the ring! The Boss will be on right after the break. Sasha Banks comes down to the ring and calls out Bianca Belair and Paige. She says she’s not done with them and last night may have been a battle but she will win the war. Suddenly Bianca and Paige appear on the tron. Paige tells Sasha that they’re still basking in victory from Backlash but they’re willing to give her another chance next week on RAW. Paige condescendingly dismisses Sasha and the tron cuts out. Sasha is left in the ring looking even angrier than she was before. Lana is backstage about to enter Rusev’s locker room when Bobby Roode intercepts her and tries to use some charm to flirt with her. She rolls her eyes at his attempt and walks past him into the room. When she’s gone he just smiles and mumbles to himself that she wants him. Mickie James vs Ruby Riott w/Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan Mickie has something to prove and she takes control early but Liv and Sarah on the outside provide constant distractions. Ruby takes advantage and scores the win via a diving senton off the top. Winner by Pinfall: Ruby Riott As if winning the match wasn’t enough as soon as the bell rings Morgan and Logan enter the ring and begin a beatdown of James. Eventually they pick her up and hold her so Ruby can trash talk some more and then she slaps Mickie across the face. Ruby finally ends the humiliation by spitting on Mickie as she lays in a heap and the Riotts leave the ring. American Alpha are celebrating their win when the Revival and Arn Anderson approach. The champs congratulate them on becoming the number one contenders but Anderson warns them to remember the old adage….be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. We see Shinsuke Nakamura backstage still frantically searching but he stops. The camera pans and we see the United States Championship laying on the floor in front of an open door. Nakamura cautiously approaches, checking the open room and snatches up his belt. He smiles, turning and walking back the way he came but Dean Ambrose steps out from behind the door. He stalks Nakamura a few steps. When Shinsuke stops walking so does Ambrose. This routine continues once more but Nakamura slowly turns around and that’s when Ambrose attacks. Dean is like a wildman and security and officials separate them with Nakamura taking off and Ambrose screaming he’ll see him soon. Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles Another great match which goes back and forth but Owens controls the majority. Finally Styles fights back and puts together a string of offense which sends Owens to the outside. AJ is feeling it and bounds off the ropes for a suicide dive but when he begins through the ropes Owens clobbers him with a chair for the disqualification. Winner by Disqualification: AJ Styles Before Owens can inflict further damage on Styles…… <iframe width="400" height="200" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iy241m3IywY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Owens takes one look and immediately exits the ringside area and heads into the crowd. Strowman, sporting a bruise on the left side of his face from an errant chair shot the night before taunts him to come back and fight but Owens isn’t having any of that. The show ends with the Universal Champion in the ring standing tall. Overall: [/center]
Pipers Pit
<iframe width="300" height="150" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BnD_UG_3bYo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Stephanie McMahon is in her office when Charlotte Flair walks in. Stephanie tells her that she wants to make it clear that the McMahons have invested a lot into her and she better not let them down tonight when she’s in the ring with Asuka. Charlotte pledges that everything will go to plan and they shake hands. <iframe width="350" height="175" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qFsNiWWBrgY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> Ford Center---Oklahoma City, OK 18,036 in Attendance Charlotte Flair and Kharma come down to the ring and Charlotte calls out Asuka and says she wants to get this over with. Asuka comes down and gets in the ring. Charlotte asks Asuka if she wants this title. Asuka says yes. Charlotte asks her if she’s ready to face the Queen. Asuka says yes. Then Charlotte says she’ll never ever get that opportunity. Suddenly Kharma blasts Asuka from behind and Charlotte joins in, as they both lay Asuka laying in the middle of the ring but before leaving Charlotte makes sure to give a loud woooooooooo. Curtis Axel vs Aiden English Axel is all business showing a vigor and aggression rarely seen by him. He controls the match from the opening bell and finishes it with a fisherman suplex McAfee refers to as the Hennig Plex. Winner by Pinfall: Curtis Axel Curtis Axel gets a ringside microphone and declares that he has just begun his new career as 1-0...a perfect streak. A video is shown with Andrade Almas pacing in a room. Kaval, Dagan and Zelina are seated in the background. Andrade comments that he shouldn’t be shocked that Seth Rollins stuck his nose into Andrade’s business but it doesn’t change the fact that Rollins has made the biggest mistake of his life. And if he doesn’t realize it yet, he will very soon. Lacey Evans vs Mandy Rose w/Sonja Deville and Alexa Bliss Alexa and Sonja get involved early and often in this one but the referee catches them finally and ejects them from ringside. Lacey takes over and almost has the Cobra Clutch applied when both women tumble through the ropes. Lacey delivers a snap suplex on the outside and rolls Mandy back in when music fills the air. <iframe width="400" height="200 " src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tP7wg2izO30" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The IIConics come to the stage and have Lacey’s full attention. They taunt her and she begins walking up the ramp but suddenly remembers there’s a match going on. She runs back to the ring but the referee counts to ten before she gets back in. Winner by Countout: Mandy Rose As Lacey turns her ire to the IIConics they think it’s the funniest thing they’ve ever seen and vanish backstage. Backstage Lashley and Crews are with Kayla Braxton. Crews says that last week he made the decision to take the next step in his career and he got some very special advice. He’s been in the ring with Lashley and they know each other very well and that means one thing. Every tag team on Smackdown is in a hell of a lot of trouble. Kayla asks who gave him the advice but Lashley just puts his hand on the mic and pushes it down as they walk away. In their locker room Samoa Joe and Drew McIntyre are mid-discussion about their match tonight. Joe makes it clear that Finn Balor belongs to him. McIntyre says that’s fine because his sights are only on Roman Reigns. The two partners seem to have an uneasy alliance. Velveteen Dream © vs EC3 w/Drake Maverick EC3 does everything he can to finish the champ quickly with the help of Maverick on the outside to distract the referee. Dream is in trouble and when EC3 hits a bridged german suplex but Dream kicks out at the last second. EC3 begins to get cocky and it opens the door for a comeback. Velveteen digs deep and fights back, going through a few of his usual offense highpoints, at one point superkicking Maverick off the apron. He ends it with the Purple Rainmaker for the three count. Winner by Pinfall and still WWE Intercontinental Champion:m Velveteen Dream. Dream is getting his hand raised by the referee when Kassius Ohno slides into the ring behind him and blasts him with a forearm to the back of the head. Dream is knocked out cold and Ohno simply picks up the Intercontinental title belt and walks off with it and referee checks on the champion. War Raiders vs Brandon Kirk and Matthew Palmer It takes the War Raiders longer to walk down to the ring than it takes them to win the match. The two locals don’t stand a chance and it ends quickly and violently. Winners by Pinfall: War Raiders A vignette is shown of Sheamus. Working out, travelling around his homeland of Ireland, and more training. It ends with a fade to black before a symbol shines through. The announcers run down the known matches for Battleground which will take place week four of this month. As McIntyre rolls to the outside the referee raises the hands of Balor and Reigns and they post for the fans as the show goes off the air as Joe remains on the stage, sneering at the champion. Overall: Finn Balor and Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe and Drew McIntyre A good match between these four with Balor getting isolated then making the hot tag to Reigns. Reigns in the process of cleaning house when Joe pulls the top rope down and Reigns tumbles out. Joe goes on the attack but McIntyre stops him and throws Reigns back in, shouting at Joe that Reigns belongs to him. McIntyre gets back in the ring but before he can hit the Claymore, Balor flies off with a missile dropkick to the back. McIntyre stumbles forward right into a spear. As the referee counts, Joe throws his hands up and walks away leaving McItyre to his fate. Winners by Pinfall: Finn Balor and Roman Reigns
