Can't wait till the game is almost finished & I can make endgame jokes.

So I'm seeing the attribute stuff & it's about what I expected. I know there will be more. I just hope match specialist options are added. Comedy matches have been mentioned but I mean more for actual match types. Someone already mentioned tag match enthusiast & I'm hoping he does that for all matches.

I also wish there was a way for people to naturally gain abilities over time. I don't know if he's mentioned that or not. Most of the ones he's brought up seem like steadfast, never changing stuff. Except for the drug stuff of course. I'd love if a worker could just gain the ability to get a bonus when working in the main event. Like, they work the main event enough & then get an attribute explaining they are now good at main events. Same with them gaining attributes for stats. Like someone can gain an attribute for star quality over time. Making them grow at that stat faster.

Match type balance

So, although I'm very passionate about wrestling and TEW I haven't really said much on this forum. After my last experience I needed to process my thoughts to better express my feelings.

Some time ago I expressed my dissatisfaction with how Chemistry and experience make the 2 on 2 tag team matches superior to everything else in TEW2016. That makes for an unbalanced game. My post was kind off brushed aside and I'm to blame for that because I hadn't fully explained my standpoint. So now I'm going to try again and hopefully this will start a meaningful conversation.

I think we can all agree that when you take tag team chemistry, tag team experience and maybe even managers with chemistry for everyone involved that 2 on 2 tag team matches are the easiest way of getting high ratings in TEW2016.

Now I get that TEW doesn't have to be a 100% balanced game and if you don't like something then simply don't do it. That's basically how it is designed and I like that. But without much effort these tag team matches always seem to take over every show I book. Maybe this is just me right? Well no, the AI matches are exactly the same way, where booking the same match over and over again is the standard. This advantage for tag team matches goes so far in TEW2016 that I would call it game-breaking. In fact, if I'm truly honest, I don't really see the point in having a TEW2020 without addressing this at least a tiny bit.

From the reactions I got last time, I understood that the main counterpoint was that tag team matches are a type of match were not a lot goes wrong when you have good teams. It was implied that tag team matches are indeed the superior form of wrestling.

I'd like to discuss this further. While it is true that when you take two good tag teams, not a lot can go wrong. That doesn't necessarily mean the match is superior. That just means that this is a "safe" match to book. When you book two good tag teams together there is only a small chance that the match will be bad. But that doesn't mean all of them become instant classics does it? I'd even argue that the true classics are mostly singles matches. For one thing, tag team matches are good "stand alone" matches but they it's very difficult to have a good story in the tag team division. How many tag team matches have you seen where you are really emotionally involved? How many had a good story or rivalry attached? It really doesn't happen often. In singles matches you can get much more personal. With the right psychology involved you can have a better story between the ropes as well. So while singles matches ask a lot more of individual workers and therefore have a bigger chance of being bad or even terrible, with the right workers and good psychology these are the true masterpieces. And isn't wrestling all about storytelling?

There are other forms of wrestling. You have triple threats, fatal four ways and so on. These match types basically have the same advantages and disadvantages. Because more people are involved, it's easier not to spot the flaws. Multiman matches like this are almost always watchable and often very entertaining. But the same thing applies: the true classics aren't found here because of a lack of psychology and storytelling from bell to bell. And again, the more people are involved, the more difficult it is to get emotionally attached to the story.

Even if we follow the logic of tag team matches being better then other matches, wouldn't this also apply to 3 on 3 matches and so on? Because the way TEW2016 works, only 2 on 2 matches (or 2 on 2 on 2 and so on) have the advantages of chemistry. I was given the argument that the Shield in WWE back in the day were having classic matches week in and week out. That's true, and many of those matches were 3 on 3 matches. Finding trio chemistry in TEW2016 is nigh impossible and experience also doesn't apply. By now we should all know that 3 on 3 matches are just as good. We have seen many trios emerge as this type of match is becoming more common in just about every major promotion there is. The Shield, The Wyatts, New Day, SCU, the kingdom, the hart foundation, Ivelisse/Havoc/Angelico... the list goes on and on. All of them having great matches week in week out.

What I'm trying to point out is that no one match type is superior to another. Every match type has it's own advantages and disadvantages. It's also not easier to make a true classic in tag teaming then it is in any other match type.

After reading this, can you really tell me that 2 on 2 matches are superior to everything else? Can you still tell me that the way tag team booking works in TEW2016 is the perfect way it should be?

Hey guys new here, and this may have been addressed but with no visible Search function on the forum, it’s difficult to find any updates info.

Will TEW 2020 be playable on a Mac? I recently got a MacBook Pro and would love to be able to play this series but I currently can’t get TEW 2016 to work, so I may as well just wait for 2020.

Hey all

I found myself coming late to the TEW party. I bought TEW 16 Black Friday of last year. Not long after that TEW20 got announced. I have found myself not willing to get swept up in it until the new game.

I've tried to keep up to date with the Dev postings. I see you can't play a TEW 16 save in 2020. That's fair enough, but will there be a 16 to 20 DB converter?

By the way, thank you to all those out there that create tutorials and create content that expands this game.

Adam has mentioned it in relation to how old data will be converted into new systems (such as the traits).

No, we only make PC games. If you want to play them on Macs you would need to use emulation software.

Wait, what?! I thought I read everything there was to read about tew2020. I missed this. Please elaborate, where in the journal does it say that?

It's not in the journal as it would fall under the heading of general minor changes.
