Lora Washington, Miss Atlantic Wrestling & Claire Winters vs Sawyer Sports Services (Bitch, Trigg & Svelte, with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Once the premier heel stable in Piledriver's Women division, Sawyer Sports Services haven't been seen in a while, outshined as they've gotten by Washington defeating all of them and the Sato-Winters rivalry. Looking to make a mark for themselves and put the spotlight on themselves once more, Sawyer's ladies showed a lot of fire in this match, with Trigg especially trampling everyone on her path like a raging bull. Winters also had a few good moments, both trading blows with Bitch and grappling on the mat against the frantic Selina Svelte, while Washington was of course the target of many shady moves and three-on-one attacks (four, when Sawyer would chip in). Miss Atlantic Wrestling jumped into the fire more than once to help her fellow patriot, but she paid the price for it when Svelte caught her and slapped on an armbar, pulling so hard she popped her opponent's shoulder of its socket, forcing referee Alvin Lavin to stop the match as the show kicked off with a bang.</p><p>

Masked Patriot & James Diaz vs Reaper & Xavi Ferrera</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A match booked in the aftermath of what happened at War for Territory #29, with Slick and Logan Diaz moving on to fight each other in tonight's main event for the Piledriver Championship, the interfering Reaper teamed up with Ferrera while James Diaz filled in for his cousin alongside Masked Patriot. Things began with Patriot and Ferrera in the ring, a standard start to a match with a mix of basic strikes, simple holds and some crowd interaction as they revisited their ongoing storyline of Ferrera being unable to best Patriot, especially clean and in one on one matches. Things slowly began to pick up and as Ferrera seemed to slowly be losing ground, Reaper blind tagged himself in to bring his intimidating power into the mix. Patriot wisely kept his ego in check and retreated to also tag in his partner, with James Diaz showing no fear whatsoever as he charged his opponent. It's not often Reaper finds himself in the ring with a man less experienced than himself but he took full advantage of that to control the match as he signalled to Ferrera, who proceeded to pull a table from under the ring apron and set it up at ringside. Reaper looked like he was going to hit his finisher to Diaz and send him over the ropes to crash outside and he even managed to get the big rookie off his feet, but Diaz kicked and shifted his weight just enough to avoid the worst, instead recklessly hitting Reaper with close range knee strikes and headbutts. With Reaper groggy but still holding on, Diaz leaned back onto the ropes and in a spectacular moment, launched Reaper to the outside and through the table as the heels' plan backfired! Fortunately, Ferrera was able to make a desperate tag before the move was fully executed and he flew into the ring with a High Impact Frog Splash on the fallen Diaz, with the youngster somehow kicking out of the subsequent pin at two to tag in Patriot. The former champion got to work on the cocky Puerto Rican and with no one to tag in, Ferrera eventually fell to the Patriot Slam.</p><p>

Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner vs The Good Ol’ Boys © (with Vinny Cruz)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Though not a regular tag team, McManus and his protege Garner did manage to win a Four Way Elimination match to land in this title match and they really gave it their all to make the best of the opportunity. Garner came hot out of the gates to unleash a thunderstorm of strikes on the champion pairing, setting the pace for what would be a fast paced, action packed contest. His youthful enthusiasm was his advantage as was his downfall, with the experienced Iowa natives eventually turning things around and double teaming to cut the ring in half and beat down the rookie in a classic display of textbtook tag team wrestling. Garner withstood the assault and barely escaped the Iowa Harverst to roll across the ring and tag in his partner, much to the crowd’s excitement who cheered on the Georgia native who’s been with the company since its first show without ever missing a beat. McManus brought his trademark mix of southern brawling and crisp technical wrestling to build up some offensive momentum, but the numbers game eventually caught up with him and with Cruz directing traffic from ringside, the Good Ol’ Boys picked him up for the Iowa Harvest, when the music of Cruz’s former clients hit the speakers…</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

...and out came Lisa Bowen, strutting to the ring with a smile on her face. Howlin’ Mad Mort and Whitehorse Whittaker were nowhere to be seen, but the redneck simpletons ate up the bluff and released McManus, scanning the ringside area as they expected the Boys from the Yukon to show up for another brawl. Meanwhile, his head still in the ongoing match, McManus tackled Fitzpaine, sending him onto Cruz and taking both men out before turning around to catch a surprised Langton for the Slingshot Suplex and a win literally out of the blue for the babyface team.</p><p>

The Mid Atlantic Express was on standby backstage and they did not look happy. Collier and the Architect took turns on the mic to cut a promo, saying fans probably guess they’re mad because they weren’t the ones competing for the titles, but that’s not it. They lost fair and square at War for Territory #29. No, their problem is the state of wrestling, in this company and the Mid Atlantic area, the home of true professional wrestling. The home of MAW. For the two loyalists, Rip Chord would be turning in his grave if he could see what was happening. Just look at tonight’s show: a match stopped due to injury, garbage wrestling shenanigans and going through tables, two simpletons holding the tag team titles before losing them in a finish that even SWF wouldn’t put up with… and what about tonight’s main event? A ghetto thug from Southern California, a hardcore weapon swinger who can’t wrestle, getting that chance and potentially becoming the face of Piledriver Wrestling! It’s high time they took action to defend the legacy, nay, the very essence of professional wrestling!</p><p>

Jebediah © vs Buck Winchester</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Former US champion from Texas was quick to jump the gun and challenge Jebediah as soon as the amish warrior won the title, leading up to this match, a classic no-frills brawl between two rough fighters looking to prove who’s badder. The ring could barely contain these two competitors but they kept all the action between the ropes from bell to bell, making the whole match feel a bit like what one would expect to see in a PGHW or BCG ring in Japan. Once more, Jebediah’s deceptive athleticism for a man his size proved to be the difference maker against a supremely on-point Winchester, the big man moving around with the grace and speed of a middleweight to surprise his challenger more than once and regain control of the match, leading up to the big finish of his Sundown Splash that sealed the deal as well as his first successful title defense.</p><p>

It’s Robbie Wright! Fans go wild for the charismatic 2011 graduate of the MAW Boot Camp, who was trained by Rip Chord himself, no less, giving him a loud “welcome back” chant. After climbing all four turnbuckles to work the crowd and milk everything he can out of the moment, Wright gets on the mic to cut a promo about how he made it to Rhode Island and then the main SWF roster, where he, like many others, was discarded after not turning out to be the next Jack Bruce overnight. Well here’s the thing… that’s true… because he’s better than Jack Bruce! He’s better than most of the people on that roster and he’s set out to prove it by stealing every damn show he can across the entire country, starting from his very own home, the place where he made his name as a young graduate breaking into the business. All hail the King of Cool!</p><p>

Logan Diaz © vs Cali Slick</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

With fans already on fire from the return of Robbie Wright, Diaz and Slick took that heat and ran with it to tear the house down in the main event. Slick sought to make this a crazy, chaotic match like the ones he used to have in California with GSW, but a snap suplex from the champion quickly put the breaks on that plan as Diaz used his amateur wrestling background to keep Slick on the mat and slow down the pace. After the rope break, the two men reset and without ever losing the calm expression on his face, Slick nodded to his opponent, signalling that he understood that this was how this match was going to go down and was alright with it. To his credit, he proceeded to prove himself a competent wrestler who can also get along without the mayhem of a hardcore environment, pushing Diaz to his limits to make for an exciting match. Both the physicality and the intensity of the bout kept climbing with every spot, including an exchange where Diaz wrapped his arms around his opponent’s waist to attempt the Belly to Belly Suplex, only for Slick to avoid it by choking the champion to force a release; Slick tried to go from there into his Slick-Back chokeslam finisher but Logan responded in kind as he powered out of it, pulling Slick’s fingers away from his throat with both hands. Before fully giving up though, Slick did rake the eyes and that got him a warning from the official. As referee Alvin Lavin was checking up on Diaz, Slick pulled something out of his tights and once the match reset, blasted Diaz in the face with whatever it was he was holding, falling on top for the cover while the audience booed him with palpable hatred.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Cali Slick, by pinfall after using a foreign object</strong></p><p><strong>

Slick raised the Piledriver Championship belt high up in the air, defiant of the heat he was getting from the audience. To further drive the point home, Slick got on the mic and trashed the audience, saying he’s gotten louder reactions from a half-stoned crowd in GSW’s Warehouse. It really felt like a step before a full blown riot, then the lights went out and the entrance screen bliped into life with an all too familiar image by now…</p><p> </p><p>

The also familiar-by-now mysterious voice was heard on the speakers, telling Slick he’s crossed a final line in winning the title the way he did. For that, he’d find his every step from now on haunted by….</p><p> </p><p>

<em>The Avenger!</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Lights came back on and a lone mask in a mask stood up in the rafters, staring down at Slick, a big “A” on his forehead, presumably for “Avenger” and the show wrapped up as Slick dared the new face to come get some.</p><p>

Logan Diaz starts off the show with a promo on Cali Slick and his tainted victory at Fatal Force. Diaz says Slick is one hell of a wrestler, but he robbed him of the title, he robbed fans of a worthy finish to the match and most of all, he's robbing himself of what he could become, taking shortcuts and resorting to the dirty tricks he used to pull off at GSW.</p><p>

Another take on the 3 vs 3 women's opener of Fatal Force, this time with the benefit of some more storyline and drama behind it, as well as the athletic Pyle replacing the more technically-oriented Miss Atlantic Wrestling. Sawyer's trio dominates the early part of the match before the faces make their comeback, with the dastardly manager turning the tables by distracting the referee to allow "Strong Style" Sato...</p><p>

Backstage, Syd Collier is caught by a sneaky cameraman talking to El Masked Sheik. Collier says he understands the Sheik wants to put on some 'proper wrestling' on TV and brings up the Mid Atlantic Express as a prime example, though the Sheik can't look past the popularity of men like Robbie Right, who debuted at Raw Power after having some nation-wide exposure with SWF. Collier says he'll prove him wrong and ends the discussion walking away, with the cameraman also leaving so as to not get caught.</p><p>

Robbie Wright vs The Architect (with Syd Collier)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Wright's in-ring debut in Piledriver Wrestling, this one is made all the more important thanks to the pre-match segment. The Architect is out to shut down Wright and prove a point, but sadly his "ground and stretch" approach takes something away from Wright's performance, with the two competitors looking a bit lost dealing with each other's moves for an awkward 10 or so minutes until Wright hits his "Wright Move" finisher to wrap up his debut with a win.</p><p>

With the coveted Piledriver Championship title belt on his shoulder, Cali Slick cuts a fiery promo in response to the words of Logan Diaz at the start of the show. Slick says being champion and staying champion means you gotta be ready to do what it takes and that's exactly what he did. No matter how much Diaz whines about it or tries to bring him down, Slick's the champ now and that's how it's gonna be for a long, long time...</p><p>

Going Coastal © vs The Good Ol' Boys (with Vinny Cruz)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

No strangers to each other by this point, the CZCW high flyers work the classic David vs Goliath match as the smaller, faster underdogs against the brutish brawlers from Iowa. Fans cheer for the defending champions as they get beat up by Cruz's duo and cheer even louder once they manage to escape and pull off a flashy move to create some space or even a bit of offensive momentum. At first, Fitzpaine and Langton are able to shut them down, but the champions just keep coming at an insane pace that really pushes the local challengers to the limits of their focus, stamina and abilities. Cruz is there in several critical moments, whether to distract the ref, guide his clients or put one of their feet on the ropes to break a pin attempt, eventually frustrating Frankie Boy Fernandez who ducks under a lariat from Fitzpaine to hit a running dropkick on Cruz and send him flying off the apron! While a crowd-popping moment, it's also what costs him the match as Fernandez turns around and walks straight into a powerbomb, before Langtong gets tagged in to help his partner hit the Iowa Harvest and score the pin.</p><p>

Annihilus, Reaper & Xavi Ferrera vs Riley McManus, Quentrel Garner & The Avenger

A decent six man opener to kick off the show, this match was servicable in terms of in-ring action but the fans didn't sound all that excited to see The Avenger making his in-ring debut after months of mystery and hype. He did however have some good moments feinting and using his speed to get the better of Annihilus, until Ferrera got the tag to bring the athleticism that matched the Avenger's speed. Freshly crowned tag team champions McManus and Garner also had a couple of double team spots, until Reaper got in the ring to clean house. In the big finale, the Avenger slingshot himself into the ring, got caught mid-air but reversed a powerbomb into a roll up for a near fall, before choking out the big man for the stoppage.

Winners: Riley McManus, Quentrel Garner & The Avenger, by stoppage

Jebediah © vs "Killer" Carl Bernard

Moving on to singles competition and the night's only title match, a classic hoss fight between two time champion Jebediah and the 2019 Golden Graduate Cup winner, Bernard. The rookie challenger put in a great performance to prove he's a competent singles competitor and a man who can do a lot more than just squash small jobbers, punishing Jebediah with vicious physicality. The champion's experience shone through though and he wisely threw his opponent to the ropes again and again, exhausting the Killer and taking advantage of his own athleticism to tire him out and hit the Sundown Splash to retain.

Winner: Jebediah, by pinfall

"Ice Cold" Claire Winters comes down to the ring and cuts a promo about War for Territory #30, calling out Eri Sato. Her former tag team partner comes out to the ring and Winters tells her the two of them aren't done. Tonight, they were supposed to have one last match between them to settle the score, but that'll have to wait and instead she'll be teaming up with "American Woman" Lora Washington in a 3 vs 2 handicap match against Sawyer Sports Services. The reason for that, says Winters as she points to the screen above the entrance ramp...

Fans burst into cheers and in a rare kayfabe-breaking moment, Sato cracks a smile and Winters gives her a hug, but we're soon back to normality once the two shake hands and Winters pulls Sato closer, maintaining control of her wrist with one hand while bringing the mic close to her mouth with the other. Winters says she doesn't want to cause any harm to Sato's unborn child, but once she's done with all that and returns to the ring, she'll make sure she gives her plenty of time to spend with her newborn baby... at the hospital!

Lora Washington & Claire Winters vs Sawyer Sports Services (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)

Though, as admitted, this match is a last-minute replacement for Winters vs Sato pt.III, it still features some great talent and an ongoing rivalry that prevent it from becoming a bathroom break. Sawyer Sports Services (or S3, for short) are really coming to their own as a group, with Bitch and Trigg working like a well oiled tag team machine in their brawling ways and Svelte on standby to pick apart any leftovers. This is made even more evident by the fact that Washington and Winters are all over the place with their timing, two individually great competitors but not that effective working together. Between that and the numbers advantage, it's an uphill battle and a predictable finish, with Emma Bitch hitting the Payback on Winters for the pin.

Winners: Sawyer Sports Services, by pinfall

Backstage, Brooke Tyler has some strong words about the Piledriver Women's champion after that performance. Tyler says she pushed Washington to the limit when they wrestled and despite losing, she's been working hard day in and day out for another shot at the title. Meanwhile, what did the "American Woman" do? Lose her COTT Women's title and a series of matches to Sawyer's group. With Sato now on the sidelines, it's high time she's given another chance at gold and this time, she's pretty confident that the outcome will be very, very different...

The Mid Atlantic Express vs The Heartbreak Express vs The Good Ol' Boys vs The Boys From The Yukon

With McManus & Garner winning the tag team straps, it's time to once again look for a new challenger and this match is it. Collier starts it off with a fun spot, scolding the referee and other three teams, saying this has to be a tag match with rules, not some chaotic hardcore brawl, so everyone involved better make sure it doesn't break down into a free for all. Liotta is all to happy to shut him up with a forearm smash and the match is on, with the two Expresses going back and forth, conjuring memories of Needham and Liotta against Collier and Jones, the Dynamite Express, in MAW. Cruz and Bowen are at ringside, both keeping their teams fresh and away for the action so they can take advantage of the situation (and possibly brutalize each other) later on in the match. This inaction gives the two Expresses enough space to put on a solid match, with Collier and the Architect slowing down the pace thanks to their technical prowess until Needham taps out to The Blueprint. At that point, the Good Ol' Boys hit the ring and clean house, bringing some high impact excitement back into the match. The Boys from the Yukon enter the ring as well while the Mid Atlantic Express is recuperating outside the ring and off to the races we are as Collier's early warning is thrown to the wind and all four big men slug it out with big strikes. The ring shakes with each move and almost breaks down once Whitehorse Whittaker gets hit with the Iowa Harvest; Bowen rushes in for the save but Fitzpaine picks her up and holds her between himself and Howlin' Mad Mort, thus blocking both from interfering as Langton scores the pin, bringing the match down to the Mid Atlantic Express and the Good Ol' Boys. Former champions are a bit too slow to realize that and spend too much time and focus on the Yukon Boys, shoving them out of the ring, taunting them and celebrating their win, only for the Architect to rush from behind and dump Fitzpaine onto Cruz while Collier shoots for Langton's legs from behind, taking him to the mat for the Texas Cloverleaf. With nowhere to go and no one to turn to (also with the Architect outside the ring pulling the bottom rope away from him) Langton struggles, but eventually is forced to tap.

Winners: The Mid Atlantic Express, by submission

Buck Winchester vs Robbie Wright

After defeating The Architect in his Piledriver Wrestling in-ring debut, Robbie Wright is in the main event of Seek and Destroy against a dangerous opponent in Buck Winchester, who's looking to bounce back and stay afloat after his loss to Jebediah at Fatal Force last month, the very same show in which Wright announced that he'd joined the company. It's not exactly the hottest feud (or even a personal feud at all) but both competitors have the moves and charisma to draw fans in, making for an exciting match as Wright uses his energy and athleticism to maintain a fast, cazy pace. No stranger to such a setting, the wild brawler from Texas plays along and the result is a solid match, although by the time it reaches the final sequences both men seemed gassed out and it's a bit anticlimatic, taking something away from the overall experience and Wright's impressive Wright Move [Gutwrench Powerbomb] finisher.

Winner: Robbie Wright, by pinfall

LyIbEj4.jpg12RJue4.jpg

After the match, Robbie Wright grabs a microphone and openly challenges Cali Slick for the Piledriver Championship. The former GSW star comes out with the belt on his shoulder to respond, saying Wright's earned nothing and he should get in line. Which in turn, brings out...

MzjfHKV.jpgFHUEpiU.jpg

...both the former title holder, Logan Diaz, who has a legitimate rematch claim due to the way he lost to Slick, as well as Masked Patriot, who's gunning for the title. The four men stare down each other in the ring and it looks like things could explode at any moment...

bTg9gTY.jpg

...which is just what El Masked Sheik and "the Network" won't stand for, as the man fans love to hate comes out screaming on the mic. Showing zero understanding of the situation, Sheik gets in the ring and fans get on their feet as it feels like either or all four wrestlers are an inch away from smacking the loudmouthed network representative...

tfOP87H.jpgaJatmCo.jpg

...but they're all prevented by the company's owner Lee Wright, who comes out just in time for the "save" as he orders his employees to not lay a hand on the Sheik and risk the upcoming TV deal. On his side is the legendary Gorgon, current head trainer at the Piledriver Wrestling School as well as acting Commissioner and Matchmaker for the company. Once Lee Wright has managed to avoid a beatdown, he says he has an announcement to make, a new signing that should also be considered when there's talk about matches for Piledriver Wrestling's top prize and that man is none other than...

I looked at my notes one more time, trying to wrap my head around everything. So many things were happening and with social media being a thing, it wasn't just about making sure there were no booking clashes any more. It was about consistency and keeping the product believable. In her excitement, Sato had gone public about her pregnancy so on top of postponing that match, I had to give her a send-off and aknowledge it on stage. Vinny Cruz getting engaged to Jillian Jarvis was a simpler deal in comparison. Cruz was no active competitor and Jillian only showed up once or twice for our shows when she held the COTT Women's title. Speaking of which, that was taken of Lora and put on Zoe Ammis. I wasn't mad at all, in fact I even voted in favor of it. AAA and QAW were a bit shy about booking title defenses for a belt that was mainly introduced for them, so having the champion around might be enough to give the title some more focus. Zoe was a great wrestler, Lora had hit the top with us and needed to be broken down a bit so she could face new challenges. I hadn't exactly planned for it all, but I wasn't just rolling with the punches either. Wrestling's golden rule, pretend that this was the plan all along, right?

*ring ring*

The phone only showed a number on the screen, but no name. No one on my contact list. Probably someone who got hold of my number and is looking to get booked, I thought. I had no idea what was coming my way.

"Heya Sheik! Just making a round of calls to introduce myself to the rest of the C-O-T-T, thought I'd start with you, being neigbours and all, plus I guess you're at the helm after merging with MAW?"

Someone had to be conning me. That never happened. I was the one conning other people. And I had no idea who this voice or number belonged to.

"Who is this?" I said in the most neutral tone of voice I could muster.

"Right, introduce myself, sorry about that. It's Ed... Ed Monton? I took over New York now that Larry retired."

Oa3NPm3.jpg

Ed Monton... Yeah I was surprised to hear from him. When Larry announced he'd be leaving the business, everyone thought he'd leave Steve Flash at the helm. Apparently Ed conned him too.

"Ed... yeah, uhm... congratulations, I guess. NYCW is in good hands with you." I deliberately made no mention of George Wolfe, the son he'd named after George DeColt. I was praying he'd do the same.

"Thanks. I'm pretty excited, to be honest. But I'm gonna need everyone's help to make it, NY was almost broke and I had to put in a hundred grand to keep us afloat. Hope it'll keep us around 'till we start turning in some profit..."

Well, there goes my dream of buying them out and expanding towards the East Coast. COTT rules prevented us from running shows in each other's home territory. I'd have to go back to the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Florida to pick up from where I left off after the merger. If NYCW kept putting up inferior shows to those we and RIPW did, maybe Ed would run out of money somewhere down the line and I could go ahead with the merger once more, but for now that had to be postponed. Oh well, at least I'd hit the money goal Lee had set for me.

"Sure Ed, let me know if there's anyone from our roster you'd like to have around..."

He didn't mention George. I tried to keep it that way and not mention the many people Larry had signed from us or before we could either. Scythe. Lenny Brown. Masked Patriot. Cali Slick. Riley McManus. Spencer Spade. Casey Valentine. Ekuma. Atlas. Ernest Youngman.

I wrapped up the conversation and hung up the phone, then picked up my notes once more. War for Territory. How fitting.

Claire Winters & Miss Atlantic Wrestling vs Sawyer Sports Sevices (Emma Bitch & Melanie Trigg, with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Miss Atlantic Wrestling was back in action for this match and with an axe to grind, even if Selina Svelte herself was not in this match. With her was Claire Winters, Sawyer's former client who's been drawn back into feuding with his current crew in the form of Emma Bitch and Melanie Trigg, two hard hitting competitors that were able to face her blow for blow. Miss Atlantic Wrestling really sold the effects of the lingering arm injury and Sawyer's team relentlessly sought to target that weak spot, but it took Sawyer distracting the ref to really pull this off, allowing Bitch to poke the eyes of Miss Atlantic Wrestling in order to hit her with the Payback for the pin while Trigg and Winters exchanged blows at ringside.</p><p>

The Mid Atlantic Express vs The Heartbreak Express</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Following the Four Corners Elimination tag match at Seek and Destroy, these two teams clashed in a match that harkened back to their days with MAW but also serving as a prequel/teaser for the upcoming Sam Keith Classic Tag Team Tournament. Needham and Liotta had the experience advantage here and made the most of it with plenty of double team moves, but their dastardly opponents used every trick on the book to put the brakes and regain control of the match as soon as the Heartbreak Express began building up some offensive momentum, eventually putting the Blueprint on Liotta for the finish.</p><p>

"American Woman" Lora Washington © vs Selina Svelte (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Washington was all fire in this match and gave everything she had, with Svelte keeping up as she chased a submission. Some nice back and forth at first, until Svelte took the champion to the match for a stretch. Washington seemed like she had a hard time fighting out of the various holds Svelte put her into, but she eventually made her inevitable superwoman babyface comeback to hit the July 4th Jam and win the match.</p><p>

Washington's music was interrupted by the theme of Brooke Tyler, who came out to openly mock the American Woman for losing the COTT Women's title to Zoe Ammis. Showing a great deal of confidence that really got her a reaction from the live crowd, Tyler challenged Washington to a title match and seemingly not willing to let the words fly by her, Washington got on the mic and accepted the challenge, calling herself a fighting champion who'll take on all comers and claiming the outcome will be the same as last time, with her keeping the Piledriver Women's title.</p><p>

Robbie Wright is walking backstage, turns a corner, and bumps into Xavi Ferrera. Ferrera takes the opportunity to trash-talk Wright, saying he talks a big game but so far has only beaten small-timers. In return, Wright calls himself the true show stealer of the roster, saying he can beat anyone and look good doing it, which promts Ferrera to issue a challenge to meet him in the ring for a match, Athlete versus Show Stopper.</p><p>

Masked Patriot & Logan Diaz vs Cali Slick & Reaper</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The main event picks up from where Seek and Destroy left off as well as several ongoing feuds, with Masked Patriot looking to score a pinfall over Cali Slick in order to earn the right to challenge for a title match. His partner is the former champion Logan Diaz, who's after Slick as much as he's after Reaper who's been a thorn on his side for quite some time. The faces start off the match strong but it quickly becomes apparent that their timing is all over the place and they're much better as singles competitors than teaming up with each other. The miscommunication creates an opening for Slick and the champion isn't shy about exploiting it before tagging in the monstrous Reaper, who throws his full weight onto Patriot on the apron, knocking him down to the ringside. From there, he and Slick team up to wear down Diaz, until...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

...James Diaz rushes to the ring, looking to save his cousin! No stranger to run ins from his time with GSW, Slick actually uses the interference to his advantage and plays possum to lure in the rookie, before dodging an Asian Thumb Spike and pulling Logan in to take the hit. James looks shocked to have hit his cousin by accident and Slick bounces back, hitting him with the Slick-Back [Chokeslam] while Reaper hits the Death Bomb on Logan for the pin.</p><p>

Originally joining Canada's ACPW, Ant-Man signed a developmental deal with RIPW in January of 16 and during his time there won the March to Victory tournament in 2018 while also holding the RIPW Championship from October of 2018 to November 2019, with 11 defenses to his name. Ant-Man's steady ascent to the top of the pro wrestling business is yet another example of the quality training provided at the Piledriver Wrestling School, the dojo that trains the champions of tomorrow. What a story that would be, Ant-Man going full circle and coming back home to Piledriver Wrestling to restart his career. Oh well, a man can dream. The Sam Keith Classic X

Friday, Week 4 July, 2020

Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC

Shown live on The Carolinas Network

LyIbEj4.jpguN4bdE9.jpg

The show begins with a message from Robbie Wright, welcoming fans in attendance and viewers at home to Piledriver Wrestling’s first ever televised event. He is interrupted by “The Athlete” Xavi Ferrera, who wants the spotlight for himself as he claims he should be the one to welcome people, as he’s a two time champion and a member of the roster since day one. Wright says that’s the past and no one knew Ferrera or Piledriver back then; this is the future and he’s the one best suited to play host, implying his fame, exposure and TV experience while working for SWF. At a stalemate, the two men turn to the crowd for a vocal on-the-fly voting, with Wright masterfully working the fans while Ferrera does seem to get a little lost, eventually forced to retreat but not before he promises to destroy Wright in this very ring after the Sam Keith Classic tag team tournament.

Eric Blackley & Leftie Wilkes (4C) vs The Ring Generals (Independent)

Winners of the tournament two years ago representing NYCW, Marv Statler and Dean Waldorf return as one of the hottest teams in the United States to not be regularly employed by any single promotion, looking to repeat their 2018 feat and hopefully get back on track. Blackley and Wilkes are the exact opposite of the Ring Generals’ performance, showing a lot of mistrust and bad communication before a fed up Blackley outright abandons the match, returning to the locker room as Wilkes gets hit with a Wheelbarrow Bomb that ends the match abruptly at just six minutes.

Winners: The Ring Generals, by pinfall

Blue Mítico (OLLIE) vs Ernest Youngman & Shady K (NYCW)

This year NYCW is represented by “The Assassin of the Squared Circle” Ernest Youngman and one half of SWF’s Death Row in Shady K. Their opponents already have prior experience in this tournament and it shows, the two luchadors getting a good cheer from the crowd and putting up a great performance. Sadly, their honourable ways are not shared by their opponents and with the big man Shady K bullying the ref to block his line of sight, Youngman goes low to take out El Mítico Jr and ensure his team advances to the semifinals.

Winners: Ernest Youngman & Shady K, by pinfall by using underhanded tactics

The Southern Stars (Independent) vs The Boys from the Yukon (Piledriver)

Much like the Ring Generals earlier, the Southern Stars are a former NYCW tag team who are no longer linked to any specific promotion. This match is proof that cutting them was a bad move, because Animal Harker and Tennessee William look like they were tailor made to be teammates. Aside from a mocking “J Lee Willams” chant, the match goes down well with the crowd and then…

OMuDnHg.jpg4LTspFc.jpg

...the Good Ol’ Boys come out running to pull Whitehores Whittaker off the apron for a devastating Iowa Harvest onto the ringside floor. Since Whittaker wasn’t the legal man, the attack doesn’t result in an outright DQ, especially since seconds later Howlin’ Mad Mort gets hit with a Texas Meat-Grinder for the pin from Harker.

Winners: The Southern Stars, by pinfall

Frantic Ali & Mobstar (CZCW) vs The Good Ol' Boys (Piledriver)

Following the previous match, the Good Ol’ Boys stick around for their own, not only having cost the Boys from the Yukon a spot in the next phase but also having taken them out to ensure that they won’t be attacked during this match either. Their opponents are two hard hitting West Coast brawlers who began in competing promotions (Ali in IPW, Mobstar in GSW) before Ali jumped ship to Brother Grimm’s promotion and after it closed shop, the two men joined CZCW. This toughness they’ve both developed after years in a hardcore environment is just what they need to compete against the big rednecks from Iowa. Ali and Mobstar can be more than just two hardcore guys swinging weapons however and their potent mix of sheer physicality and brutal wrestling carries them to a big victory as they eliminate the host promotion’s final participating team with a neck-breaking Death Valley Driver.

Winners: Frantic Ali & Mobstar, by pinfall

12RJue4.jpgFHUEpiU.jpg

Cali Slick cuts a scathing promotion on Masked Patriot next, saying he pretends to be a hero when he actually stands for everything that’s wrong with America. Not long after, Masked Patriot in the flesh shows up and tells Slick the only thing wrong here is him holding the championship, as the way he won the title shows he lacks the integrity of a true champion. Slick says he’ll shut Patriot’s big mouth for good, Patriot says he’ll restore honour to that belt and the two of them shake hands, promising to settle this in the ring.

The Southern Stars (Independent) vs The Ring Generals (Independent)

Two teams familiar with each other since their days in New York. Two teams no longer employed by NYCW, or any other major promotion. Two teams out to prove they’re still worth a chance, though only one can advance to do it and that means they’ll have to go through the other. It’s a hard fought battle, the Generals’ experience clashing with the Stars’ chemistry as they wrestle back and forth in a classic tag team contest until Tennessee William manages to roll through a Wheelbarrow Bomb and reverse it into a surprise cradle for a shocking pin over Waldorf, sending him and Harker to the finals of the tournament!

Winners: The Southern Stars, by pinfall with a surprise cradle

Ernest Youngman & Shady K (NYCW) vs Frantic Ali & Mobstar (CZCW)

The second semifinal is a proper West Coast War as Shady K takes the reins to deliver a hood street fight against Ali and Mobstar. Youngman’s amateur wrestling approach initially feels at odds with everyone else’s style but he quickly adapts, showing both heart and grit in this brutal match. If the Southern Stars versus the Ring Generals was a classic oldschool tag team match, this one’s the exact opposite, a chaotic hardcore brawl that brings variety, intensity and “realism” to the show but also pushes the limits of Piledriver Wrestling’s fresh broadcast deal before Shady K hits his K Killer finisher to wrap it up.

Winners: Ernest Youngman & Shady K, by pinfall

Julius Moor is interviewed backstage, saying he’s excited to join the fastest growing promotion in the U.S. today. When asked about who he’d like to face next, Moor says he’s got his sights set on big bad Carl Bernard, hoping the matchmakers will grant him a chance to face the Killer.

“American Woman” Lora Washington vs “The Franchise” Brooke Tyler

The night’s only title match, only singles match, only women’s match and only match to be held outside the Sam Keith Classic tournament, this one really steals the show as two magnificent competitors go at it for nearly fifteen minutes without holding back. Tyler is hellbent on getting the champion to tap out to the Brooke Breaker, while Washington initially fights out of it and then later struggles to withstand it. This motif is repeated throughout the match, with Tyler skipping any pinfall attempts, instead looking like she’s obsessed on getting Washington to submit. Her fire ends up costing her both the match and title though as she gets caught up in the moment and never heeds referee Alvin Lavin’s words once Washington’s made it to the ropes, forcing the official to throw the match and disqualify her.

Winner: “American Woman” Lora Washington, by disqualification

Backstage, the Diaz cousins are in the middle of an argument regarding the botched interference of James during the main event of War for Territory #31. James says he’s sorry and that he was only trying to help, but Logan snaps at him, saying he never did ask for his help in the first place, nor did he need it. James is clearly angry at that, his fists almost going white but although he’s the bigger of the two, he simply snorts and walks out of the scene.

6ffpmx9.jpgTqXBSjr.jpgGIRKb76.jpgVvTA0fk.jpgmGqZ0ic.jpg

The Southern Stars (Independent) vs Ernest Youngman & Shady K (NYCW)

Probably a surprise pair for this year’s tournament finals, the main event feels more like a clash of generations between NYCW’s talent rather than a Piledriver Wrestling main event; then again, it’s a great opportunity to use the promotion’s new broadcasting deal to showcase not just Piledriver Wrestling but the roster depth and variety that comes with the company being a member of the COTT alliance. As for the match itself, it’s a classic that would have made Sam Keith and Rip Chord proud, an oldschool but very physical contest by the numbers: frequent tags, double team moves, cutting the ring in half and a rock solid referee that keeps the one on one setup as much as possible, preventing the main event from collapsing into a free for all tornado tag match. Harker and Williams’ chemistry once again shines through in this one, a prime example that tag teams can and should be more than just the sum of their individual parts. Using this flow between them, they manage to balance out Shady K’s size and power advantage, then Youngman’s technical excellence to finally hit him with another Texas Meat-Grinder and score the big pin to become this year’s tournament winners.

Claire Winters, Miss Atlantic Wrestling & Nicole Pyle vs Sawyer Sports Services (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)

Sawyer's trio was firing on all cylinders in the opening contest, once again punishing Miss Atlantic Wrestling who sold the lingering shoulder injury like crazy. Nicole Pyle made the best of the opportunity she was given to not get lost in the suffle and almost looked like she had the match won all on her own, before Sawyer shook the ropes to throw her off balance before she could hit a big aerial move, allowing Trigg to catch her with a decapitating Crunching Sickle for the pin.

In a pre-recorder promo, Brooke Tyler spoke of her big title match at the Sam Keith Classic X, saying she was so close to forcing Lora Washington to submit and blaming referee Alvin Lavin for not letting the match continue because she knows that was the only reason she didn't win and Washington's still the Piledriver Women's champion.

In a short but to-the-point promo, Buck Winchester announced that he will be facing Jebediah for the Piledriver United States title at Headstrong, promising to defeat him for the title he brought prestige to in the first place.

Backstage, James Diaz and Nate DeMarcus are talking tactics for their match next against the Boys from the Yukon when Logan Diaz walks by and stops to wish them luck. Logan says he isn't booked to wrestle tonight so he'd be more than happy to be on their corner and counterbalance the sneaky seductress Lisa Bowen, but James doesn't want to hear it and cuts him off mid-sentence, saying he and Nate can handle themselves without him before he storms off, leaving both Logan and DeMarcus baffled, with DeMarcus shrugging before he too leaves to make his entrance with James Diaz.

James Diaz & Nate DeMarcus vs The Boys from the Yukon (with Lisa Bowen)

Wrestling takes a back seat in favor of storytelling and crowd interaction in this match, with the Canadian duo always on the lookout for a sneak attack by the Good Ol' Boys and James interrupting the flow of his offense to shout out stuff about him being good enough on his own and not needing Logan's help. DeMarcus is the only one who's focused on the in-ring action with a stellar performance that proves he deserves more than the limited screen time he's getting, though eventually he falls victim to his opponents' experience teaming together and their tag finisher, Tiiiiiiiiiiimber!

Vinny Cruz is backstage with a mic in hand and a smug smile on his face. Behind him, the Good Ol' Boys glare menacingly at the camera while carrying their COTT World Tag Team titles on their shoulders. Cruz hypes his clients as last year's Sam Keith Classic winners and reigning COTT World Tag Team champions, then calls out CZCW's Mobstar and Frantic Ali, saying they cost his boys this year's tournament. For that, they want revenge. And to get it, they're willing to put their titles on the line. Next month, at War for Territory #33, Ali and Mobstar versus Langton and Fitzpaine, CZCW versus Piledriver Wrestling, for the COTT World Tag Team titles!

With his ever-present reflecting red sunglasses and the Piledriver Championship title around his waist, Cali Slick made his way to the ring and cut a scathing shoot promo on Masked Patriot, calling him a hypocrite and a "Rhode Island flop, trying to cash in that past in the indy circuit". Fans were red hot in genuine rage at the California native, who went on to shoot from the hip and trash talk the audience too, before giving them the crotch chop and walking away in a hailstorm of boos.

Robbie Wright made his entrance next, preparing to compete in the main event. Before his opponent though, Xavi Ferrera came down to the ringside area to join the announcing team, apparently scouting his future opponent. Wright did not look happy about it at all and even appeared somewhat distracted too.

87E3trK.jpg

LyIbEj4.jpgGIRKb76.jpggDXGKOl.jpg

Robbie Wright vs "Class Act" Syd Collier

Wright was off to a hot start, his fast and flashy style allowing him to get the jump on Collier and make the fans come alive. Ferrera was content to talk trash about his future opponent but did not interfere, although his presence alone was enough to distract Wright, who seemed to always be wary for a potential backstab. This in turn created an opening for Collier to exploit and the MAW veteran seized control of the match to slow things down. Taking Wright to the mat, Collier took away his offense and played to his strengths, firing up fans with his oldschool traditionalist antics and masterful ring psychology. Wright sold the whole thing, even limping and staggering once he was back on his feet to muster whatever strength he had left in him for one last big push leading up to his Wright Move [Gutwrench Powerbomb] finisher that kept Collier down for the count. The show ended with the ref raising Wright's arm and the winner staring down at Ferrera.

Winner: Robbie Wright, by pinfall

Following his solid performance at War for Territory #32 after a long absence from action, Nate DeMarcus found himself wrestling once again, this time in the opening contest of Headstrong 2020. The visual of him against his opponent screamed social issues and police brutality, but the booking fortunately did not go there. Instead, DeMarcus' natural athleticism meshed nicely with Night's technical excellence and they focused on that chemistry to work a straightforward wrestling match that started the show strong and fired up the crowd for the ten or so minutes it lasted before a Snap Tackle laid Night down for the count.</p><p>

Patriot Power (Lora Washington & Miss Atlantic Wrestling) vs Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte (with "Playboy" Jake Saweyr)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Piledriver Wrestling's two patriotic ladies teamed up in this one to take on the respective thorns on their sides in Tyler and Svelte. Sawyer had a night of comedy gold acting like he was also managing the daughter the legendary Eric Tyler, with Brooke waving off his attempts to steal some of her shine. This was what allowed Miss Atlantic Wrestling to be in control of the match at first, but then something magical happened once Svelte gave the tag to her partner. Combining their joint technical prowess, Svelte and Tyler worked like a well oiled machine to dismantle their poor opponent, better than Svelte has ever been able to do with Talia Quinzel as The Uprising. Sawyer's excitement over what he was witnessing threw his team off track though and Miss Atlantic Wrestling had a chance to tag in the Piledriver Women's champion who came in like a house on fire with a ton of momentum to clean house. Once the rush of the hot tag wore off though, Tyler and Svelte used their teamwork to shut her down and turn the tide, forcing her to tag her partner back in for a breather, only for Svelte to catch her with a release suplex before tagging in Tyler to apply the Brooke Breaker [Full Nelson Camel Clutch] for the tap out.</p><p>

"Killer" Carl Bernard vs Julius Moor</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A hard hitting hoss fight, this match was actually much better than it may have sounded on paper. Both men showed they're more than just big men out to squash jobbers, with Bernard looking nothing like the rookie he actually is and Moor proving his critics wrong as a former football star who transitioned into pro wrestling. All in all a solid contest, with Moor maintaining his winning streak after he gored his opponent with the Charging Tackle.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Julius Moor, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

In their first appearance since winning this year's Sam Keith Classic, the Shining Stars gave an extensive interview about themselves, life after NYCW and of course, their recent tournament victory. Tennessee Williams did most of the talking, saying they were approached afterwards by Piledriver officials with a contract offer, to which they agreed only as long as they would be getting matches against certain opponents they wanted to face. The Tag Team titles are their ultimate goal of course, but for now the Mid Atlantic Express are set to face McManus and Garner for them, so that would have to wait. Their first opponents would be the Good Ol' Boys, at next month's Deadly Game. As Harker pointed out, the two teams never crossed paths in the tournament and the Good Ol' Boys are last year's winners, so it's a pretty big deal, plus their involvement in their match against the Boys from the Yukon undermined their own tournament win, meaning they are really looking forward to this match to prove naysayers wrong.</p><p>

Jebediah © vs Buck Winchester</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Everyone knew what they were getting with this match, including the two competitors in it, but no one expected how out of control things would get. Winchester came into the fight guns blazing and Jebediah wasn't shy about keeping up since after all he's pretty athletic for a man his size. Less of a wrestling match and more like an out of control bar brawl, this one spilled out of the ring and involved some high impact maneuvers, like when Jebediah hit a running canonball off the apron to the ringside on his opponent. As the match went on without any man clearly having the advantage, the pace and hits started to take their toll on the competitors and things almost came to a grinding halt as they crept back into the ring to wrap things up, with Jebediah hitting his Sundown Splash to retain.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Jebediah, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

Jebediah's victory announcement was cut short by Reaper, who came out on top of the ramp with a mic in hand to issue a challenge for the amish champion's title. Reaper reminded everyone that he and Jebediah have only wrestled each other once before, two years ago at Where It All Begins Again in an I Quit match. He has beaten Jebediah before and as the champion stared daggers at him, he promised to do so again, this time with the Piledriver United States title on the line!</p><p>

In a pre-taped message, Robbie Wright spoke about his rivalry with Xavi Ferrera, announcing that their agreed-upon match has finally been made official and scheduled to go down in two months' time at Piledriver Wrestling's biggest show of the year, Where It All Begins Again.</p><p>

Cali Slick © vs Masked Patriot</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A much anticipated match in the main event as Cali Slick made his first defense of the Piledriver Championship since taking it from Logan Diaz at Fatal Force three months ago. His challenger, none other than Masked Patriot himself, a former Piledriver and COTT World Heavyweight champion in his own right. Though equally physical and brawl-heavy as the semi main event, this contest was different as the two men took their time to pace themselves and build up the match, making it feel much like what one would expect to see headlining a Japanese promotion's show. Patriot showed all the heart and skill that's become synonymous with his name, while Slick once again proved he's a talented striker who was only held back by the chaotic hardcore environment of GSW. All in all an extremely even match, until the challenger hit the champion with the Patriot Slam. However, referee Alvin Lavin accidentally caught Slick's foot to his head mid-move, temporarily knocking him out and leaving no one to make the count as Patriot pinned the champion!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="ejbjbKm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ejbjbKm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Buck Winchester ran down to the ring as fast as he could, sliding into the ring behind Patriot to catch him with a Neckbreaker as he got back onto his feet, followed by a Texas Backbreaker! With Lavin slowly coming to, Winchester rolled out of the ring and a recomposed Slick hit his opponent with the Slick-Back chokeslam for the win!</p><p>

"You don't have to do this, sir. We made a deal for three years and I haven't even wrapped up a single one yet."

gG04bRj.jpg

I looked at Brooke's beautiful face as I took in her words, trying to wrap my head around the madness of the situation. She, a wrestler who'd been offered a non-exclusive deal to work for more money at a bigger company, was trying to convince me, her boss, to not terminate our agreed-upon contract. She wanted to keep working for both companies and she was already our top female heel, but I had a fixed budget, rigid financial goals and a massive roster that could do with a little trimming. On top of that, I had made a promise to myself when Piledriver Wrestling began: if any worker gets a deal with anyone bigger than us, don't hold them down.

bTg9gTY.jpg

"I don't have to, but I am going to" I said. She gave me a puzzled look. Part of it was my words, part of it her not being able to tell from my facial expression behind the mask. I was no longer living the gimmick 24/7 as the Sheik, but El Masked Sheik wore his mask at all times like an old school luchador.

"Queens are spilling out of Texas and need a larger roster" I said, as if I was delivering the solution to some great mystery. "That's why they called you. That's why they signed Eri [sato] for once she's back from labor. Deborah [Young] and Talia [Quinzel] too. All great talent I've worked with. You'll do great with Farrah. There's only so far you can go in a Women's Division, but in an all-female promotion..."

"She's already picked Foxxy LaRue as her figurehead" Brooke cut me off. I could tell she wasn't pleased with the fact. Probably the decision or announcement was made after she'd agreed to work for QAW.

"Foxxy's an established face there, as is Jillian [Jarvis]" I reassured her. "They've both held the COTT Women's title, for crying out loud. They call Danielle [sweetheart] The Queen of Hearts because she's won that tournament God knows how many times. Don't expect to go there and not pay your dues while you get over with the fans. You're only what, 26 now?" She nodded in agreement. "You're gonna be a star and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!"

Brooke nodded slowly, trying to take my compliment with grace. "I'm gonna tell Farrah I'll stick around till October's Where It All Begins Again. If I'm going out without winning the title, you better make sure I get a send-off worthy of the star you think I'll be!"

She stood up and left my office, trying to end the conversation there before I could argue. It worked too, because only after she'd shut the door behind her I realized she'd essentially booked the terms of her write-out without even negotiating them with me. Daddy taught her more about wrestling that just moves and promos, it seemed.

I leaned back into the reassuring sound of my office chair creaking it's way closer to a big snap, pulling my laptop closer as I clicked the bookmark to totalextremewrestling.com

VIBERT TO THE MAX!

No stranger to controversy and arleady a legendary figure in the pro wrestling world, Phil Vibert once more shocked the world today when he announced the creation of Pro Wrestling Max, his very own pro wrestling company. In his statement, Mr. Vibert stressed that while he understands the nostalgia of DAVE fans, this will not be an attempt to recreate his extreme East Coast hardcore promotion. The description he provided when asked about his new vision was "american strong style" and listeners of his Vibert's Voice podcast might already have a good idea of what that means since the show's host has been quite vocal in his praises of the modern Japanese puroresu produced by companies like PGHW and Golden Canvas Grappling. CZCW and IPW, who will be competing with PWMAX for eyballs in the South Western U.S. made no comment, instead it was Japanese hardcore legend and owner of Warrior Engine WXXV, Ryu Kajahara, who trashed Vibert for betraying his roots in hardcore wrestling.

"Well, at least these guys are too small to steal our talent" I thought to myself as I clicked the Company Ratings link.

My eyes widened as I realized what was happening. Sure, I'd promised myself if any worker gets a deal with anyone bigger than us, I wouldn't hold them down but I hadn't said anything about signing workers from promotions smaller than us. Even if they were COTT allies...

I frantically swept papers and office junk to the side as I searched for my phone in the mess that was my office desk. A blinking light notified me of a text I never heard arriving, probably received while I was talking to Brooke.

"Hey Sheik, today's the deadline for that fanbase goal I set for us. Man, you really nailed it. I mean, TV deal?! Just don't rush it now for the next couple of years"

"Yeah, sure, f**k you Lee, you out of touch old timer. You and your oldschool territory sh*t" I thought to myself as I hit delete before punching in a number to call.

"What's up, coach?"

SCMAy8r.jpg

He was no ex-footballer like Moor or high school sports star like Ferrera, but he'd still refer to his higher ups as 'coach' for some reason.

"I got two empty seats for the ladies' section of the roster. You still got Dee's number?" I got straight to the point, hoping I wasn't scratching any scars.

"Sure thing, coach!" said Nate, the enthusiasm apparent in his tone.

"Good. Tell her to give me a call when she can, but don't wait too long" I said and hung up a la Brooke Tyler, trying to end the call before he heard my sigh of relief they were still dating.

Now, to fill that second spot. I had just the person in mind...

War for Territory #33

Saturday, Week 2 September, 2020

Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC

FHUEpiU.jpgejbjbKm.jpg

The show kicked off with an angry Masked Patriot calling out Buck Winchester and demanding an explanation for his actions which cost him the title match against Cali Slick at last month's Headstrong show. Winchester came out and cut a short but sweet promo, saying he realized why he's repeatedly failed to re-capture the US title and that's because... he's better than that and should be fighting for the Piledriver Championship instead! Of course, that means he'll have to go through the likes of Masked Patriot and they almost went at it on the spot, before security flooded the ring to separate them, however a one on one match seems almost certain down the road as we head to next month's Where It All Begins Again.

Claire Winters & Miss Atlantic Wrestling vs Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)

After their big win and apparent chemistry on display at last month's Headstrong show, Tyler and Svelte teamed up once again for the opening match here, with "Ice Cold" Claire Winters filling in as Miss Atlantic Wrestling's partner. As the more experienced of all four, Tyler led her technically-oriented team to victory over their opponents, focusing mainly on the inexperienced and injured Miss Atlantic Wrestling. This onslaught ended up taking the masked technician out of the equation and Winters had to essentially fight a handicap match, an uphill battle she just couldn't hope to win and eventually had to tap out to the excruciating Brooke Breaker.

Winners: Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte, by submission

After the match, the winners continued to beat down their opponents and Tyler even got on the mic to brag about tapping out a former Piledriver Women's champion, which according to her is proof she should be champion.

h9A0Crp.jpg

Tyler's words brought out the reigning Piledriver Women's champion, "American Woman" Lora Washington, who put things in perspective: yes, Tyler did just tap out a former champion and yes, she's one hell of a competitor, but she came up short again and again when faced with the current champion, so why keep beating on a dead horse? Tyler had to agree, but said that's only made it a life-or-death situation: all she asks for is one last chance. If she can't beat Washington for the title, she'll leave Piledriver Wrestling!

Backstage, Julius Moore was interviewed about his winning streak and big performance against "Killer" Carl Bernard at Headstrong. Moore put himself and Bernard over as a tough opponent, but said he now wants to test himself against bigger and badder opponents, calling out none other than "The Monster" Annihilus and requesting a match against him!

Robbie Wright & Double Diaz vs Cali Slick, Reaper & Xavi Ferrera

This six man tag match was all about storyline crossover and giving fans a preview of what they can expect down the line from all six men in their upcoming matches. James Diaz started the match against the Piledriver champion, catching Slick by surprise with his sheer aggression and intensity. James took a moment too much to roar in rage while Slick was down though and that created an opening for Reaper to get the tag and take the fight to the young blue chipper as the ring shook with the weight of these two massive men beating on each other. The opportunistic Ferrera came in to hit a couple of moves and get a two count, but his arrogance soon took over and he shoved James Diaz to his team's corner, challenging either man to tag themselves in. Logan was the one who did, the moment rekindling memories of his long rivalry with Ferrera. Xavi wasn't into re-living it though and made a cowardly retreat as he tagged Slick back in. Current and former champion squared off in a big sequence of moves until Ferrera decided to steal the spotlight: blind-tagging himself in, he hopped on the top rope and flew across the ring to hit Wright with a big coast to coast dropkick that sent him flying to the floor. That's where the match fell apart and turned into a free-for-all brawl with everyone fighting everyone and referee Alvin Lavin unable to restore order. The fight quickly spilled out of the ring and all six men got so caught up in it, the match had to be thrown due to a double countout.

Result: Draw, due to a double countout

As the ring was getting cleared and prepared for the main event, a short video aired to hype up the scheduled Piledriver Tag Team titles match between challengers The Mid Atlantic Express and defending champions, Riley McManus and Quentrel Garner.

COTT World Tag Team titles match

QVmhIyi.jpgg5S8v8y.jpgGIRKb76.jpg4LTspFc.jpgOMuDnHg.jpgw7rS8uzo.jpg

Frantic Ali & Mobstar vs The Good Ol' Boys (with Vinny Cruz)

The main event was a match set up during this year's Sam Keith Classic, when CZCW representatives Ali and Mobstar defeated last year's winners The Good Ol' Boys to knock them out of the tournament. Eager to score the equalizer, Cruz's team put their COTT titles on the line for a rematch and that's how this came to be. Now in a featured spot and without the time constraints of a tournament, the two teams were able to better showcase what they're all about as they pushed each other to the limit back and forth for over fifteen minutes in an action-packed and supremely hard-hitting contest. Ali and especially Mobstar were constantly flirting with disqualification as the match went on and they tapped into their hardcore ways to secure victory, bending the rules but never breaking them, at least not in full view of the ref. This slow but building lack of focus to the actual wrestling ended up costing them the match altogether and the Good Ol' Boys finally got revenge when they hit Frantic Ali with the Iowa Harvest for the big pin.

Winners: The Good Ol' Boys, by pinfall

Vinny Cruz was quick to get in the ring and celebrate his team's victory, even taking the time to get on the mic and cut a promo, warning The Southern Stars that they'd be the next to fall.

Deadly Game 2020

Friday, Week 4 September, 2020

Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC

Shown live on The Carolinas Network

Main Event

Double Diaz vs Cali Slick & Reaper

Cali Slick cheated his way to a win over Logan Diaz for the Piledriver Championship and the two have been butting heads since, potentially leading to a rematch. Meanwhile, Slick seems to have found an effective ally in the monstrous Reaper, but the monster has his own agenda and openly challenged Jebediah for the U.S. title. Logan has his cousin James, but they too seem to be struggling to get on the same page. Which team will end up overcoming their mistrust to win this last big match before next month's Where It All Begins Again?

Semi-main Event

Julius Moore vs "The Monster" Annihilus

Julis Moore has been tearing through the biggest men on the roster, his latest victim being "Killer" Carl Bernard. Now he's challenged a bigger and more seasoned graduate of the Piledriver School in Annihilus. Can he top the Monster or is this where his winning streak ends?

Intergender Six Person match

Patiot Power (Masked Patriot, Lora Washington & Miss Atlantic Wrestling) vs Buck Winchester, Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte

Piledriver Wrestling's uber-patriotic trio goes to war against their respective enemies. Masked Patriot is looking at a big match against Buck Winchester down the road, Washington is set to put her title against Tyler's career while Miss Atlantic Wrestling seeks to punish Selina Svelte for purposely injuring her. Will America prevail or will their dastardly rivals find a way to steal the win?

Tag Team Grudge match

The Southern Stars vs The Boys from the Yukon

Howlin' Mad Mort and Whitehorse Whittaker interfered in the Stars' match against the Good Ol' Boys, causing critics to say that Harker and William only won because the former tournament winners were knocked out at that point. The Stars are looking to prove themselves here and pick up some momentum in light of their upcoming rematch against the Good Ol' Boys, but the Boys from the Yukon are not to be taken lightly and will be looking to score a major win over this year's Sam Keith Classic winners to put themselves back in the picture!

Opening non-title Tag Team match

Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner vs Carl Bernard & Jules Knight

The Piledriver Tag Team champions are looking to pick up steam before defending their titles against the Mid Atlantic Express at Where It All Begins Again. Their opponents, two dangerous graduates of the Piledriver School. Collier and the Architect will be watching this one and are more than likely to interfere. Will they do so and if yes, will it swing thins in favor of Bernard and Knight or can McManus & Garner get away with a victory before their big match next month?

Non-title Tag Team match</strong></p><p><strong>

Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner vs Carl Bernard & Jules Knight</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The mentor and apprentice pairing opened the show against a duo of Pileriver dojo graduates and even though the titles weren't on the line, neither man seemed to take the match any less serious because of that. Garner and Knight started the match with the latter slowly taking control as he grounded the Canadian blue chipper. Garner was able to power out and fight back, eventually tagging in the veteran McManus to turn things around. Knight found himself on the receiving end of the veteran's offense and barely escaped a Slingshot Suplex by raking Riley's eyes to tag in the big man Bernard. The Killer came in with a head full of steam but spent too much time showboating, in turn allowing McManus to tag in his partner for a burst of double team moves to regain control of the match. Knight blind-tagged himself in to save Bernard from getting pinned, but Garner simply picked him up, lifted him up over the ropes and dropped him into the ring with a Canadian Backbreaker for the pin.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner, by pinfall</strong></p><p>

<img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The tag team champions had little time to celebrate as the Mid Atlantic Express rushed into the ring post-match and attacked them, with Collier putting McManus in the Texas Cloverleaf and the Architect locking the Blueprint on Garner. Security interfered, but the damage was done already and the announcers had to wonder whether that would affect the champions' performance in their upcoming title defense against the Mid Atlantic Express.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera cut a promo next, in which he talked about his upcoming match against Robbie Wright. Xavi said he'll prove which man is the real show stealer in Piledriver Wrestling and it's only right to do so in the company's biggest show of the year!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

The Southern Stars vs The Boys from the Yukon (with Lisa Bowen)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A match with quite some story behind it, Marvin Earnest and Ernest Forthdyke-Hume took their time breaking it down on commentary while the Boys from the Yukon tried to break Tennessee William inside the ring. The Southern Stars didn't win this years Sam Keith Classic by accident though and their amazing chemistry shone through once again as Animal Harker got the tag and brought the fight to the rugged lumberjacks almost single-handedly, before hitting some great sequences in succession with his partner. Lisa Bowen climbed the apron to cut her clients some slack and indeed the more simple-minded Harker did get distracted, but not as much as the Boys from the Yukon were when...</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="4LTspFc.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/4LTspFc.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="OMuDnHg.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OMuDnHg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

...the Good Ol' Boys (sans Vinny Cruz) marched down to ringside. While not openly hostile or looking to interfere, Langton and Fitzpaine did draw the attention of Whitehorse Whittaker who left the ring to get in their face, leaving an also distracted Howlin' Mad Mort to take the Texas Meat-Grinder and pin.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Southern Stars, by pinfall after a distraction from the Good Ol' Boys</strong></p><p>

<img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

With the match over, Vinny Cruz came out with a mic in hand to join his clients and cut a promo, saying the Stars proved they didn't advance by accident in the Classic, but they have yet to prove their win wasn't a fluke because they have yet to face his Boys in a proper match. Next month, Where It All Begins Again, Southern Stars versus Good Ol' Boys, to settle this once and for all!</p><p>

Patiot Power (Masked Patriot, Lora Washington & Miss Atlantic Wrestling) vs Buck Winchester, Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Patriot Power united to take on their trio of respective individual rivals in Winchester, Tyler and Svelte in this match and indeed it featured plenty of these one-on-one matchups to tease future matches. The in-ring action may have not been that amazing, but the characters and stories had fans invested and made for a pretty hot match, culminating to a feelgood finish of Miss Atlantic Wrestling finally getting a modicum of revenge when she put Selina Svelte in the Kentucky Fried Chickenwing for the submission victory.</p><p>

Julius Moore vs "The Monster" Annihilus</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The next chapter in Moore's saga of big matches against big opponents, this match was a chance for the former football star to showcase his athleticism against Annihilus, who he managed to hit with a Charging Tackle after six or so minutes into the match. The spear took the air out of the Finnish super heavyweight's lungs just enough to keep him out for the count, a rare loss via pinfall for the Piledriver Wrestling School graduate whose losses have mostly come via DQ or submission so far.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Julius Moore, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

Robbie Wright cut a promo next in response to Xavi Ferrera's words earlier in the show. Wright mentioned his three year tenure with SWF and subsequent experience working in front of huge crowds and big shows, saying those have prepared him for next month's clash with Ferrera and predicting that "The Athlete" couldn't handle the pressure as well as he can.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

It was Reaper's time to talk next, the intimidating monster hyping up his US title match against Jebediah at Where It All Begins Again. Reaper once again referenced his only singles match against Jebediah so far at 2018's Where It All Begins Again, vowing to repeat his feat and defeat the amish warrior but this time, becoming Piledriver US champion in the process.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Double Diaz vs Cali Slick & Reaper</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The ongoing issues between the Diaz cousins were on display in this match once again, countering their family connection and teaming experience to make the bout pretty competitive against their two individually skilled opponents who lacked the integrity of a proper tag team in comparison. James and Reaper started the match as something of a hoss fight, before Slick and Logan took over to up the ante in terms of in-ring action. Slick and Reaper used frequent tags to keep the fresh man in, but Logan seemed to take the match unto himself and wasn't willing to tag in James, especially when Slick was the legal man. This led to James force-tagging himself in and an argument between the cousins, which Reaper exploited to throw his full weight onto both of them and pin James while using his massive frame to prevent referee Alvin Lavin from seeing how he held onto James' trunks to ensure victory.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Cali Slick & Reaper, by pinfall with a handful of tights</strong></p><p><strong>

Buck Winchester comes to the ring and calls out Masked Patriot, who appears. Buck cuts a promo and suggests they up the ante on their upcoming clash at Where It All Begins Again by making it a Loser Leaves Piledriver Wrestling match! Fans go wild and Patriot agrees, saying he'll beat Winchester in his own game and get rid of him once and for all, while Winchester points out this is his signature match and reminding how he's sent off so many people before, vowing to become the one who kicked Masked Patriot out of Piledriver Wrestling.</p><p>

Lora Washington & Miss Atlantic Wrestling vs Brooke Tyler & Selina Svelte (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Following their clash at Deadly Game and in light of the upcoming title match between Washington and Tyler, this match kept the flame alive while treating fans to another exciting bout that showcased how the women's division in Piledriver Wrestling is nothing like the sideshow most other companies have theirs for. Tyler and Svelte's teamwork shone through once again, but it was the rivalry between Svelte and Miss Atlantic Wrestling that decided the match as Svelte's frustrations got the best of her and she got herself disqualified while trying to re-injure the arm and shoulder of Miss Atlantic Wrestling with her Prawn Armlock finisher.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Lora Washington & Miss Atlantic Wrestling, by disqualification</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

In a pre-recorded message that aired next, El Masked Sheik hyped up the upcoming Where It All Begins Again show, and reminded everyone of the annual Hall of Fame ceremony while also promising that some major announcements for Piledriver Wrestling's future will be made during the show!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="M4SOg7D.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/M4SOg7D.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

Quick cut to the backstage area, where Reaper and Jebediah were engaged in a brutal fist fight that wrecked havoc all around them as they threw their massive frames around. Apparently started during El Masked Sheik's promo, the fight was already in full swing and neither man seemed to get the best of it as security staff stormed the scene in an attempt to separate them.</p><p>

The Southern Stars & The Heartbreak Express vs The Good Ol' Boys & The Boys from the Yukon</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Despite being two of the biggest and most hard hitting teams on the roster, the Good Ol' Boys and the Boys from the Yukon also have a long history between them and that kept them from firing on all cylinders in this match. It didn't take long for the match to fall apart and after several failed attempts to regain control of the contest, referee Alvin Lavin called for the bell and threw the match in an attempt to stop the chaos.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: No Contest</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Riley McManus and Quentrel Garner were interviewed in the backstage area and they had strong words to direct at the Mid Atlantic Express and their sneak attack at Deadly Game last month, promising to deliver vengeance and payback in the ring at Where It All Begins Again as they defend their Piledriver Tag Team titles!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

Logan Diaz made his way to the ring next and cut a promo on his upcoming match against Cali Slick, highlighting how Slick cheated his way into winning the title. That brought out the Piledriver Champion who burned Diaz on the mic for being willing to do whatever it takes and instead just being a big crybaby. With nothing to respond, Diaz had an idea to end this back and forth argument for good in the ring: come Where It All Begins Again, their match would feature no ringside assistance, no holds barred, no countouts, no disqualifications.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><img alt="pyf9Pt4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pyf9Pt4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Robbie Wright vs Nate DeMarcus vs Xavi Ferrera</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Wright and Ferrera may be feuding over the label of Piledriver Wrestling's true Show Stealer, but Nate DeMarcus was inserted into the mix here to contribute his athleticism to the mix. While solid all around, DeMarcus just isn't up to par with the other two competitors and eventually fell to a Wright Move, sending Robbier Wright to Where It All Begins Again with some good momentum and Ferrera with the excuse that he may have lost the match but wasn't the one to get pinned either.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Robbie Wright, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

Friday, Week 4 October, 2020</strong></p><p><strong>

Live from the Centerpiece Bridge, SC</strong></p><p><strong>

Shown live on The Carolinas Network</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Main Event</strong></p><p><strong>

Piledriver Championship title match</strong></p><p><strong>

No holds barred, no countouts, no disqualifications</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">Cali Slick © vs Logan Diaz</span></p><p>

<em>After going on a tear since his arrival, Cali Slick defeated Logan Diaz for the Piledriver Championship but his victory was tainted by the way it was achieved. Diaz finally got his rematch and Slick a chance to prove he deserves to be champion in a match that will headline Piledriver Wrestling's biggest show of the year!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Semi Main Event</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">Robbie Wright vs Xavi Ferrera</span></p><p>

<em>Robbie Wright returned to Piledriver Wrestling after a run with RIPW and SWF, claiming he is the best thing going. Former Piledriver Champion and roster original "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera took exception to Wright's words and ever since, the two have been butting heads trying to prove who is the real showstopper. No matter who wins, this one is bound to be an epic match!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Piledriver Women's title match</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">"American Woman" Lora Washington © vs "The Franchise" Brooke Tyler</span></p><p>

<strong>If Tyler loses, she will leave Piledriver Wrestling</strong></p><p>

<em>After repeatedly trying and failing to capture the Piledriver Women's title, Brooke Tyler put her career on the line for one last chance. She may have backed herself into a corner, but that can only make her more dangerous. Can Washington make it three wins in a row over her challenger or will Tyler finally win the title and save her career in the process?</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Texas Deathmatch</strong></p><p><strong>

Loser Leaves Piledriver Wrestling</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">Buck Winchester vs Masked Patriot</span></p><p>

<em>Buck Winchester has been a thorn on Masked Patriot's side for a while and the two men agreed to solve their differences in the ring, but things took a dramatic turn when they agreed to wrestle the type of match that has become synonumous with Winchester's career in Piledriver Wrestling. Can Masked Patriot beat the Texan in his own game or will Winchester be forever known as the man who kicked Masked Patiot out of the company?</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tag Team Grudge match</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">The Southern Stars vs The Good Ol' Boys</span></p><p>

<em>Last year, the Good Ol' Boys won the Piledriver Tag Team titles, then the Sam Keith Classic and then proceeded to win the COTT World Tag Team titles, which they hold still. This year, they were eliminated from the annual tournament, which the Southern Stars ended up winning. Harker and William stuck with Piledriver Wrestling since, requesting two key matches. They've won the first against the Boys from the Yukon, but can they beat the Good Ol' Boys in the biggest show of the year or will the Iowa natives reclaim their spot on top beyond a shadow of a doubt?</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Piledriver United States title match</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">Jebediah © vs Reaper</span></p><p>

<em>Jebediah has been a dominant US Champion who looked like he would hold the title forever, until Reaper issued his title challenge. With a victory over the amish champion in their only singles match before, Reaper just might be the one to take the gold from Jebediah. Will he repeat his feat or will Jebediah get redemption for his previous loss?</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Piledriver Tag Team titles match</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:14px;">Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner © vs The Mid Atlantic Express</span></p><p>

<em>The ever dangerous pairing of Syd Collier and the Architect have been bullying youngsters for quite some time, Quentrel Garner included. When Garner and his mentor, Riley McManus, won the Piledriver Tag Team titles, it lit a fire under the Express and they managed win their way to becoming the #1 contenders. Will they also manage to become champions for the first time as a team or will McManus and Garner shut down the MAW loyalists for good?</em></p><p> </p><p>

Riley McManus & Quentrel Garner © vs The Mid Atlantic Express</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Piledriver Wrestling's biggest annual show kicked off with a tag team title match as the master and apprentice pairing of McManus and Garner defended their titles against the Mid Atlantic Express. Unlike the promotion's usual trend of having people cash in their title shots almost immediately after getting them, Collier and the Architect had to wait for several months since they won theirs in June, it was all worth it though in order to fight the fight on the grand stage of Where It All Begins Again. The way this match was worked, it was a shout-out to the oldschool mentality of MAW, a classic tag team contest between two clean cut babyfaces and two dastardly heels that really got the fans cheering for the former and booing the latter, from the opening bell to the big finish of the Architect resorting to a low blow in order to successfully apply the Blueprint on Garner while Collier was getting hit with the Slingshot Suplex off the barricade and onto the ringside floor.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: The Mid Atlantic Express, by submission after cheating</strong></p><p><strong>

Once the ring was clear, a musical fanfare hit the speaker system and Piledriver Wrestling's people of power came to the ring for the annual Hall of Fame ceremony: the promotion's owner Lee Wright, its current Commissioner and match maker Gorgon, and the Network's representative, El Masked Sheik. After welcoming fans and hyping up the success of Piledriver Wrestling in just four years of existence, the three of them took turns to introduce this year's inductee, Piledriver Wrestling's founding father and driving force...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sheik Ali Al-Avatar!</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

That's right, not only did this come as a swerve after making fans believe it was Lee Wright that would be inducted, it turned into a full-blown comedy skit with El Masked Sheik totally pretending that he wasn't the same person but under a mask as he essentially inducted himself into the Hall of Fame.</p><p>

Jebediah © vs Reaper</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

No shortage of drama and build-up to this title clash, as Reaper hadn't been shy about repeating how he'd defeated the champion in the only time so far they had wrestled each other one on one. However, that was an I Quit match and as such, had been much of a hardcore brawl; with most of the action now kept in the ring, the two behemoths wrestled a proper wrestling match and one that was far from the slow plodding hoss fight their big frames would suggest. With Jebediah being deceptively agile for a man his size, the match had a pretty good pace and every move had gravitas to it, both narrative and physical as the ring shook. What also shook was the head of referee Alvin Lavin, after Reaper pulled him in the way as a human shield to avoid the full force of a charging avalanche. With the referee down, there was no one to count the pin seconds later when the champion hit the Sundown Splash. Instead, he rose up just in time to notice a mass of tattooed muscle heading straight his way a split second before impact...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

...as Charger Siaki announced his arrival in a most brutal fashion! The former RIPW star got a loud, albeit mixed reaction from the crowd and helped Reaper pull up the champion to a seated position on the top turnbuckle. From there, Reaper hit a modified version of his Death Bomb finisher, the rumble snapping the ref back to consciousness for the count while Siaki rolle out of the ring, the ref's view of him obstructed but the sheer mass of Reaper's frame on Jebediah.</p><p>

The Southern Stars vs The Good Ol' Boys (with Vinny Cruz)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Next up, another clash with several months of build up, all the way back to this year's Sam Keith Classic. At the time, defending champions the Good Ol' Boys were knocked out of the tournament after outside interference; after the Southern Stars won it, they expressed a desire to fight them Boys and that eventually led to this match. That was the story this match built upon, while the execution itself was based on teamwork: the Good Ol' Boys' long experience working together versus the Stars' intuitive understanding of each other in the ring. Vinny Cruz added his personal touch to it all until Tennessee William took him out by smashing his guitar on the sleazy manager's head, the signal that the action was about to pick up. Enraged, the Good Ol' Boys upped their aggression but that came at the cost of focus and not long after, Fitzpaine found himself on the wrong end of a Texas Meat-Grinder that ended the match.</p><p>

Miss Atlantic Wrestling hit the ring next and called out Sawyer Sports Services, who shortly after joined her inside the ropes. Reciting her recent issues with Selina Svelte after the latter injured her arm on purpose, she demanded a match against her, one on one, without Bitch, Trigg or Sawyer involved. Sawyer and his clients argued as to why they shouldn't just beat her up right then and there, but Svelte cut in saying she recently suffered a loss at the hands of Miss Atlantic Wrestling and wants to set the record straight. The two shook hands in the middle of the ring, but Miss Atlantic Wrestling never saw another figure creeping up behind her until it was too late...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Buck Winchester vs Masked Patriot</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

More than one man has fallen to Buck Winchester in a loser leaves town match, but Masked Patriot is probably the toughest opponent the Texas cowboy had to face in such a situation. Making full use of the leeway provided by the rules, Winchester got the jump on Patriot and threw him to the outside of the ring for a wild brawl at ringside and even between the front row seats. An exciting contest that picked up the pace of the show, this saw the two men trade blows around the ring and by the time they returned inside it, they'd brought all sorts of foreign objects with them. Buck's plan backfired though and those weapons turned out to be his downfall when he got hit with a Patriot Slam that drove him back first onto a ladder. Such was the force of the move that the ladder was bent and understandably, Buck was held down for the full ten count, leaving Patriot to continue his career with Piledriver Wrestling.</p><p>

"American Woman" Lora Washington © vs "The Franchise" Brooke Tyler</strong></p><p><strong>

If Tyler loses, she will leave Piledriver Wrestling</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Winchester's departure barely had enough time to sink in before Brooke Tyler put her own career on the line for one last chance to become the Piledriver Women's champion. Though an excellent, competitive match, this one was probably hurt by the "adrenaline crash" after the match that preceded it despite both ladies putting on great performances. On top of that, Washington managed to retain her title, which in turn meant that Tyler would also be leaving Piledriver Wrestling, raising the body count to two so far.</p><p>

Robbie Wright vs Xavi Ferrera</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

This wasn't just a clash of wrestlers but a clash of big egos first and foremost. The two men tried to out-perform each other, whether it was trash talking, hitting flashy moves or posing for the crowd and it all made for an exciting match as they took their long war of words into the ring. The pace however did seem to take a heavy toll on Wright, used as he was to the more sports entertainment style of SWF; Ferrera noticed and closed in for the kill, but Wright was expecting it and managed to reverse into his own finisher to pull off a big win against his rival!</p><p>

Cut to the backstage area where Julius Moor was interviewed and he looked delighted: just when he thought he was running out of big powerful opponents to demolish, new ones appeared tonight. Cali Slick © vs Logan Diaz</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

It all came down to the big main event. Slick's chance to prove he could beat Diaz without cheating. Logan's chance to prove he never should have been stripped of the title. Neither man needing to worry about anything else than beating the other. Well aware of the situation, the two fighters paced themselves and gave viewers a chance to breathe and grasp it all as they carefully built up the drama. Logan fought for each sequence, making the best of his amateur wrestling background. Slick endured it all, tempered as he was in the SoCal hardcore scene. He fought back, a stiff rugged edge to his strikes that would be very much at home in a Japanese strong style ring. He took the challenger to the mat for a stretch, proving he can also do 'real' wrestling. Logan powered out. They traded blows as tension escalated until they finally began to attempt their respective finishing move, a signal that the end was near, already fifteen gruelling minutes into this fight.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="oSBICFE.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oSBICFE.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

James Diaz came down to the ring, taking a front row seat to the action. Neither he nor Logan needed to say or do anything, for their bodies and faces told the story already: James was here, not out to help his cousin but available if he just asked for it. Logan was distracted, maybe a little annoyed and certainly driven even more now to win this on his own. Once he hit the Belly to Belly Suplex though, James snapped and pulled the ref's feet to break up the count. Fans booed. Logan looked shocked. This wasn't by accident. James deliberately messed this up and Slick was not shy about catching Logan by surprise with the Slick-Back chokeslam to finish the match and retain. What a finish.</p><p>
