Round 1 Matches:

Cheetah Boy vs. The Masked Mauler

This one I simply picked based on who I expect to be the opponent next round (Brandon Smith)

Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. Brutus Milano

Smith is one of the biggest names in the tournament and one of three people who I´d see as potential winner (other two being Flash and Honest Frank suprising absolutely no-one) so of course I pick him going into second round.

El Hijo Espada Roja vs. Honest Frank

With Cahill not being in this tournament, Frank is the main heel in my books and thus unlikely to lose to outside talent.

Marv Statler vs. The New York Doll

Need face opponent for Frank next round, not that I need much extra reasons to pick either one of the Ring Generals over pretty much any non-main eventer anyway unless there´s a special reason for me to go into other way. And yes, I´m fully aware that this is the first time I pick either one of the Ring Generals to win a match during this diary and they haven´t faced main event level talents in previous shows . What can I say, though? There have been those said "special reasons"

Round 2 Matches:

Brandon Smith vs. The Masked Mauler

While Mauler´s tag partner did actually got past second round, I don´t expect Mauler to duplicate the result here. That said, Old School Principals certainly had a good run on this tournament (assuming of course that I´m right about Mauler getting this far).

Marv Statler vs. Honest Frank

Remember when I said that I would need little extra reason to pick Ring Generals over non-main event talent? Well, here´s main event talent so sorry Marv, at least you did get past first round.

Therefore, I mentally prepared myself for a match with the COTT World Heavyweight Champion Nicolas Lopez…then I thought maybe Nick’s all booked up so they might send the great Marcos Flores up here. When I heard my opponent was going to be El Helicopter Enchilada Robo…I was…flummoxed. My honest reaction upon hearing his name was…who? Then I became angry…angry that both OLLIE and NYCW thought so little of me that they would send a jobber up here to take me on. I am Honest Frank damnit! I am a three-time former NYCW Empire Champion…and you are having me face this guy! That is just unbelievable! El Taco Bell Roads or whatever your name is, you should probably be thankful that you are wearing that mask. Because then you can hide the shame you will have when I beat you for the jobber you are! Brandon steps out from behind the backstage curtain as his music begins to blare throughout the arena. Mere seconds later an enraged Andrew Harper emerges from behind the backstage curtain as well and he begins to attack Brandon in the aisleway that leads to the ring. Brandon is not able to put up much of a fight as he was attacked from behind. Harper manages to get Brandon down on the ground and it is at this point that Harper beings raining punches down onto Brandon’s face. Harper then lifts Brandon by the back of the head and slams his head into the steel guardrail. Harper has a very sadistic smile on his face as he looks out into the crowd, who are all mostly booing him. Harper then takes Brandon’s right arm and slams it hard against the guardrail. It is at that point that NYCW owner Larry Vessey and a slew off backstage officials coming running out to aid Brandon. Larry physically pulls Harper away from Brandon and then yells at him… <img alt="UWsq484.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UWsq484.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Larry Vessey: If ya don’t knock this crap off…I’m gonna fire ya ass! Harper puts his hands up, as if he is surrendering to the cops, and slowly backs away from the scene. All while admiring his work with a sadistic grin on his face. A medical team rushes over to check on the condition of Brandon. Brandon waves everyone off and says he is alright, as blood gushes down his forehead. He (Brandon) then tries to standup but he is very shaky on his feet. As the medical staff try to assess whether Brandon should be medically cleared to take part in the next match or not, we are shown a new commercial featuring Tabitha Perkins and Cheerleader Nicki who are hyping the merchandise deals that can be found on NYCW.com. Rock says that the cut on Brandon’s forehead could severely impact his vision if the cut reopens during the match and that was the main reason why the doctor would not clear Brandon to wrestle. </li><li>However, Brandon said that the tournament was far too important and therefore he signed a wavier form which would allow him to take part in the match. </li><li>The Masked Mauler is never one to look a gift horse in the mouth and he was given a huge gift in this match. </li><li>A very weakened Brandon tried to fight early in the match, but his legs would constantly give way which lead to Mauler quickly gaining the advantage in the match. </li><li>Mauler took Brandon down to the canvas and began trying to apply various arm related submission holds to Brandon’s right arm. </li><li>Someone how Brandon was able to muster up enough strength to valiantly fight off most of Mauler attempts. </li><li>However, as the match wore on Brandon became weaker and weaker due to the amount of blood he lost during Harper’s attack. </li><li>Mauler was soon able to lock Brandon’s right arm into an armbar and it looked as if Brandon was going to submit. However, somehow Brandon had enough ring awareness to put his left foot on the bottom rope. Thus, forcing Mauler to break the hold. </li><li>A frustrated Mauler stood up and started kicking Brandon in the ribs while he (Mauler) figured out what to do next. </li><li>Mauler then dug his thumb into the gash on Brandon’s forehead, which caused the cut to reopen and once again the blood came gushing out of Brandon’s head. </li><li>Mauler then latched his hand onto the forehead of Brandon and began to squeeze (thus applying his finisher the Iron Claw). </li><li>A majority of the fans gasped as Brandon looked like he was having his lifeforce drained out of him. </li><li>The fans then began to chant in unison, “Here we go Bulldozer, here we go!” </li><li>Then, as if a light switch was turned on, Brandon somehow managed to muster up enough energy to fight his way out of the Iron Claw. </li><li>A look of shock was on the Mauler’s face (well a much of a look as one could have while wearing a mask) as he thought he had the match in the bag. </li><li>Brandon, whose face was a bloody mess, smiled at Mauler and yelled out. ”Let’s go!” </li><li>Brandon then went into attack mode fending off anything that the Mauler threw his way. </li><li>Soon, to the shock of everyone in the building, Brandon was able to lift Mauler up and finish Mauler off with a Tombstone Piledriver. </li><li>Brandon then covers Mauler for the pin and three second later Brandon secures the victory.</li></ul></div></blockquote> <div style="text-align:center;">Winner: Bulldozer Brandon Smith Time: 13:15 Match Rating: 45 Bulldozer Brandon Smith advances into the Semi-Finals of the NYCW Empire State Championship Tournament.</div> <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46177" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>[After the match is done Brandon collapse in one of the corners of the ring. I think Marv should know his place in the NYCW ecosystem. Marv is clearly nothing more than a tag team wrestler…and if he were smart that would be the only thing he should ever dream of doing. I mean let me be honest here. Marv is a tremendous tag team wrestler, he’s great at standing on the outside of the ring while Dean does all the work and honestly there is nothing wrong with that approach. It has worked for him thus far, so I say he should keep it up. As you know Tabitha, I pride myself in being the most truthful, honest, and morally incorruptible man on this roster. Therefore, Marv should take my advice seriously and he should just give up any dreams he has of being a dominate singles wrestler. This assurance led to Marv acquiescing and shaking Frank’s hand only to be met with a quick knee to his gut by Frank. </li><li>Marv doubled over in pain then fell to the mat, Frank did not press forward by attacking Marv. </li><li>Instead Frank taunted the crowd by saying how dumb Marv was for falling for the oldest trick in the book. </li><li>While this was going on an enraged Marv was able to stand up and rush at Frank, taking Frank down with a Bulldog. </li><li>A stunned and defenseless Frank was unable to fight back as Marv landed some vicious ground-and-pound strikes on him. </li><li>The ever ring savvy veteran Frank was somehow able to extend his right foot over to the ring rope forcing Marv to stop beating him to a bloody pulp. </li><li>This seemed to be the running theme of the match, every time Marv would be on the offense Frank would find a way to break it up by either leaving the ring or putting one of his arms or legs on the ring rope. </li><li>Marv, who was still angry over what Frank did to him at the start of the match, began to lose focus on the matter at hand (which was trying to beat Frank). </li><li>He tried to work this match as a brawler, and while he is a fantastic competitor this just did not work for him. </li><li>In the end the hot-headed youth was beaten by the smart veteran after Frank took Marv down with a Frank-N-Hurter.</li></ul></div></blockquote> <div style="text-align:center;">Winner: Honest Frank Time: 16:07 Match Rating: 43 Honest Frank advances into the Semi-Finals of the NYCW Empire State Championship Tournament. I also had Brutus vs. Brandon twice in this diary already, once again I chalk it up to not looking at my save before I booked it (I swear Brutus vs. Brandon is not going to be this diary's version of Orton vs. Cena). Now I probably should have checked what I had written before I booked this show, but I did not so there you have it. 3. The next show is going to have the start of a storyline that me be a tad bit controversial to some. I will say prior to posting it, the topic is not meant to offend if it does I apologize. 4. I do not have much insight into why I booked this show the way I did (Shoot just read Zergon's picks they are pretty spot on with my thought process. Okay I just wanted to say that this diary is not over with, I have had some major things I have had to deal with in my personal life and therefore I have not felt like writing. I could see either guy becoming a champ but I go with Frank for two reasons. 1) Both guys are likely way over their prime but pretty certain Frank is the better guy on microphone so he has slighly easier time to get decent ratings via angles even if the matches aren´t that great. And 2) Flash and Smith sounds more impressive line-up as challengers than what Frank and Cahill do and assuming no new signings at the time being, those four guys are the ones who I would expect to challenge/carry the belt at this point.

I hate to do a bump like this, but people do cheaper bumps so here goes.

I am not sure when I am going to be able to post this next show. I have it all written up and ready to be posted but I am not able to use my Microsoft Word. It says my subscription is up and I need to reactivate it but I never had anything to activate in the first place.

I have an old computer (I think I bought it in 2012) and Word just came with it when I bought the computer as a default. I am wondering if this has something to do with when I converted over to Windows10. I am not sure what is going on here and I honestly do not have the time to rectify it right now.

I will try to get this resolved soon, but I cannot make any promises. What sucks is the show is right there but I cannot copy and paste it to the site. It is highly annoying.

If you need a cheap fix until you get things resolved with Word you can always download Open Office for free and there will be a program that allows you to open up word documents in it.

If you have Microsoft Office 2013 or above it would be associated with your Microsoft account and logging into said account should re-activate it. If it is 2010 or before you might be out of luck as they are out of support these days.

You can also use Google docs. You can open the word file in Google Docs and copy and paste from there. It's free and just comes with having a gmail (if you didn't know that, which I assume you did, but just in case!)

together for ten years. </li><li>The match begins and both men seem to be happy fighting an old fashion technical mat-based match. </li><li>There were a lot of submission holds applied and a lot of reversing of holds. </li><li>Usually this would draw the ire of the NYCW crowd, but it seems that will never happen if Steve is in the ring. </li><li>Rick was able to gain control of the match after he hit Steve with a foreign object which Referee Michael Bull was out of position to see. </li><li>Rick then methodically went to work on Steve’s right knee, doing everything he could possibly do to weaken it. </li><li>It was at this point when it looked like all was lost for the aging veteran from Canada. </li><li>Rick locked Steve’s right leg into a kneebar, Steve refused to tap out despite it being very clear that he was in a tremendous amount of pain. </li><li>Somehow Steve was able to make is way over to the bottom rope and Rick was forced to break the hold. </li><li>It was at this point The Sayeed Ali segment was the controversial segment I was talking about after last show. When dealing with the topic of race it is tough to know who you might offend. The whole segment really did stem from me looking over the NYCW roster and not seeing any Hispanic, Asian, or Black rosters. I found that to be very odd, mainly because NYC is considered a melting pot city and so it is just bad business sense to not have your entire audience represented. For Sayeed I am borrowing a little from Nu Jack during his days in SMW (Not ECW, that would be a little too graphic for NYCW). He is going to be a thorn in the side of Larry for the next couple of shows. 2. Yes I put the championship on an almost fifty year old man. Mainly because he is the most viable person to hold the title. Honest Frank and Brandon are not popular enough in-game to hold the title and Man Mountain is supposed to be a part-time worker (According to his bio, but the dude still gets angry when I leave him off shows.) and this is not the WWE where we are going to have a champion who is not going to be on every show. That left Steve as the only option. Which is fine because I think he would be considered Mr. NYCW in the game world so it makes sense. Plus Lou Thez last held the NWA World Title when he was forty-nine years old so that means Steve is in good company. 3. Crockett was going to defend his title against a series of jobbers before I figure out who I want to beat him for the title. What did Brimstone do? He injured Crockett (I believe it was an elbow injury, I do not have the game opened up to look it up) and put Crockett on the injured reserved list for the next month! You would think I would have learned my lesson but no...ten years later and I made the same mistake. Damn Brimstone and his awesome render... 4. I put Cheerleader Nicki with Animal and Tennessee because I had nobody else to put her with. I did not want to fire her because she is dating Geoff Bourne, so I just gave her that job. 5. I did not know if I should have written this as a "news story" but right after the show two things happened that really screwed with some of my long term plans. First off the Ring Generals lost the C.O.T.T. World Tag Championships to Marcos Flores and Nicolas Lopez (Yes the same guy who is the COTT World Heavyweight Champion, screw you game A.I.). I had a plan for the Ring Generals to defend their titles against various teams from other COTT promotions on our shows and then they would eventually defend their titles against Animal and Tennessee in a titles vs. titles match. Well those plans were dashed pretty quickly. To an extent it is kind of a blessing because now I only have set of tag team championships to worry about. I was struggling on what exactly to do with the COTT titles. Now I do not have to worry. The bigger blow happened when Bulldozer Brandon Smith signed a written contract with BHOTWG. That really screwed up my long term plans. I did know that there was a pretty good chance of him going full-time in Japan but I did not expect it to happen this early. In fact, this was the earliest he has made the move in any of my TEW16 saves. Needless to say I was shocked and annoyed because I had Brandon's next three feuds lined up. He was supposed to have a feud with Andrew over the next couple of matches before having a feud ending tables match which he would have won. He would have then moved to a feud with a worker who I have not signed yet but it would have sort of been a copy of the Tommy Dreamer/Raven feud in ECW (the basic backstory in which Bulldozer was the high school jock who bullied the outsider, now the outsider was back for revenge.). The third feud was potentially going to be a face vs. face feud with him winning the Empire Championship against Steve Flash. Though honestly this feud is the least planned out of the three because it might have happened maybe a year into the diary. I will say that I do like it when the bigger promotions take my workers. That is part of the reason why I enjoy playing as the smaller promotions. Putting belt on Flash makes sense, I wasn´t thinking about popularities when making my prediction so I wasn´t considering about potential popularity difference at all. Plus with Smith leaving, heel side suddenly looks stronger anyway (at least until someone is hired or pushed to replace Smith) so putting belt on Flash ended up working on that way too.

I would love to say my current posting will be the norm, but I am someone that hits burnout like you. Either way even if this goes at a slow pace or not I am always down for a good NYCW diary. They are one of my first loves when I got into TEW.

3. Surprised at Flash winning but I guess you need someone to captain the ship at the start

4. The promo by Ali wasn't that bad. It made sense and I wasn't offended by it. But if you start with that white supremacist crap, that's another story...

5. Bulldozer had a cool render, too. Sucks that he left.
