@bak: Cool to see you on. I know you said you prefer to play a more observant game and I respect that. You will not see me pull any of my usual stunts this game about people low posting.

What I was wondering is if you could point on anyone who stands out to you as being scummy (I am perfectly fine if you think I am)?

I know I have been asking everyone and their brother that question, but I am just trying to foster conversation here and I do value your input as I think you are a good player.

Hey guys, I just want to inform you that I will probably out for a day. As I am out on a family trip, and currently drunk out of my mind. We also have elections this monday so I probably won't be able to post then..hopefully I can post on sunday. This is all filipino time so it would probably be the reverse of your time. But I want to leave with at least something helpful.

Hellshock is probably town.

See you when I am sober. Lol

In certain ways my phone is better for GDS than my desktop and vice versa. Starting from about page 10, when things finally started happening and we weren't so much going around in circles, lets see what we see.

-Losing Kijar, regardless of role is not particularly a good thing. He seemed like he was into this game and I said before that a motivated and focused Kijar has good instincts.

I'll give my theories on the night actions.

It had been interrupted last night, but tonight its work began. It scanned a man in red, and moved on.

Likely to be the much theorized indy/3rd party/sk/culitist/whatever. Definitely some kind of ai. Not an sk, could be scanning for simple information and might be among the less harmful of the types of indy roles but yeah still can't rule out cultist. Theorizing on the red man would only be useful if we think the ai is some kind of cult leader, otherwise we risk too much information on a possible townie coming out in the discussion.

Shortly afterward, said man in red unexpectedly found himself somewhere else. A blur of yellow disappearing in the distance afterward. How odd. Where he had been there was a now a flying woman who was just as befuddled. Before she could react she was buffeted by a very loud scream. She was unharmed, but decided to call it a night without doing what she planned.

Has to be some form of bus drivering yeah. Interesting that the above action happened to the red man before he got bussed. Sounds like a powerful indy if it goes ahead of a bus drivering. Pretty sure I know who the scream power would belong to and it seems obvious what that role would be, be interesting to see if anyone else picks up on any of that.

A caped man loitered near a woman in black. He was always busy. Crime never slept, and with everyone having gone face blind things were even worse. The man in green had put a stop to his investigations last night, but tonight would be different. He had eyes on target and was figuring things out. He knew he’d found an ally. This was good. He got up to leave, but someone else was there. A man who glowed yellow.

“Honestly, you aren’t my first choice. Still, an agreement is an agreement. Be a good little bat and die.”

Ordinarily, such a statement would be followed by defiance and then a rescue by another Leaguer. The rescue would not be coming today. Kijar pulled out all the stops. Emptied his utility belt. Dodged attack after attack. But it was not enough. He was only a man, and very unprepared for the man who glowed yellow. That man left his corpse in the street.

Looks like Kijar had gotten off to a good start but was killed by a glowing yellow man, if it's not a yellow latern, I'd have no clue who it could be. Maybe we have a few lantern groups of varying colours or something.

Now we shall see who thinks what.

-First's comment and Blue's response was interesting. Some game runners like to give us a lot of information, often because it makes for a more interesting read and fleshes out the story, such as it is in a mafia game. Dunno why people might think it was a power.

-Banshee? The only Banshee I know is that Scottish guy in marvel and whoever DC's banshee is, it's not who I thought the power would obviously belong to.

-Seems to be early discussion that the gift was either one-off, conversion or poison. I doubt it being a one-off ability. Something to definitely keep an eye on regardless.

-To Zergon on Paws, I think it seems we could have a number of lanterns in this. If Paws was doing something, maybe it's a shared green group ability.

-TBP, I think there's no doubt that last night was a night skip.

-More discussion about the screaming Banshee person. I'd have thought that it was obvious who it was and interesting that people are coming up with everyone but her. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

-Umm what was Paws going on with the "I was told to tell you.." bit? I are confused.

-While I agree that bus drivers are often scum Talon, it has been a townie ability as well (maybe we even have a town and scum bus driver to balance things out). Anyway what I wanted to say here, is that there'll be more than 2 alignments in this game so I don't think the targets have to be town to be confused. Also if the screaming roleblocker is who I think she is, I'd say town as well.

-Also while the legion of doom surely exits, I'd not be surprised if we had a few groups of lanterns of varying colours and sizes as well. Surely none too big though.

-Finally i effin' says what I've been thinking all along. Sing birdy sing. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

-lukes is being questioned, interesting to see what happens here.

-lukes is one of the 35 lanterns in this 20 something player game it seems. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

-Umm yeah the vote on me, kind of odd. Some kind of weird scum thing, maybe a randomly generated quirk of something that happened during the night?

-Have to agree with Talon that lukes, while seemingly clear for now, probably didn't need to say that much.

-Now michgcs vote switched again, to something not wanted. Quite bizarre.

-DJ being inactive is being brought up and he's being asked to guide us. I have some sympathy for not being in quite a day 3 mindset seeing as day 1, night 1 and day 2 were like one extended day 1.

-Oh I was as confused as DJ but I get the lukes thing now.

-Wait 4-5 The green lanterns aren't that large are they? I though this was some 3 person thing. I'd not be surprised if they had a slightly different alignment Rev but I doubt they'd be working against us.

-Not sure what's going with this mid-mafia interruption for a comedy skit, lol.

-2 things from michgcs post.

1. A joker role could go a few ways if you think about it. I remember an indy Joker in a mafia game once that could win with either side and didn't care who won, as long as he got to cause some chaos along the way. However he could just as easily be in the legion.

2. I don't think it's completely out of the realms of possibility for the ai to be town now. Just something we need to keep an eye on, until we know more.

-DJ asks who would kill Kijar. Well if you think about it, he's got the capability of being anything. Do you keep him around as scum and hope that he gets distracted and takes focus off your group? An off Kijar is a massive distraction but keeping him around risks him being in focus and on his game and a big help. However he's also unlikely to be protected night 1. Players that could be dangerous, who likely wont be protected, are pretty good targets this early on.

-Top of page 14 and BHK asks if the magic woman is Zatanna and that's pretty much who I was thinking when it was mentioned about DC and magic. She's pretty much a good girl right? At least the versions I've seen have been.

-Mich then mentions Circe? Can't say I've ever heard of that character but then again I had no clue that DC had a Banshee. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

-Okay the background on this Circe from BHK has definitely helped, so thanks for that one.

-Now michgcs is voting for himself, be interesting to see if that does anything, lol.

-I have to admit the forcing EP to do game things while he was doing life things, was pretty darn funny. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

-Yeah zergon I to have heard of the inventor role but as you say now, it's definitely the least likely. I could, in theory, see the joker in some game having a random inventor type role but if so, most of his inventions would fail to work or blow up in peoples faces, accidently on purpose. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

-Reading Hellshock's summary post, yeah I was thinking Shazam was a good shout for the caped guy. Is there a possibility that the reason the caped guy failed to fully succeed with their job and had the woman in black be animorphed under their watch because Shazam , while powerful, isn't Superman and can fail unlike the near flawless Supes? That theory wouldn't explain the other weird prioritizing instance though. The Riddler? Interesting shout but yeah, surely has to be Joker.

-The talk about investigators, we'd surely have a couple of varying degrees of usefulness and maybe a flawed one thrown in or at least a misdirector or whatever the role is called that gives a false read.

-Good call on what wonder woman could be from bhk. A JOAT could make sense with the lasso of truth being her kind-of investigative ability and freeing someone else to be the actual cop.

-So hellshock really thinks that stuff was left off? I recall that being mentioned before but that could be an interesting game quirk, some actions were left off and we assume that we'll be told everything and we aren't. Interesting. Unless hellshock was prevented from doing something.

-Now leion with the drop-in, drop-out info bomb. If Hellshock is cool, then all the better, we can narrow stuff down.

Sweet, finally figured out how to check post counts on this forum. I'm going to go back and check up on someone now that I've seen their post count.

A final thought, could be silly but it's something that I've touched on before:

-Would a few smallish lantern groups of varying colours make sense? Maybe a couple of yellows, greens and reds. I could be convinced that the green lanterns have a different role title but can only win with the town(I ran a future mafia with an avengers group from the end of this century and they had a different role title to the town but could only win with the town) but the reds can maybe only win with the legion. Could be that the legion is small and the scum numbers are made up with bad lantern groups that can only win with them maybe?

Oh and something else, is a poisoner usually an indy thing or a mafia thing? I know of the role vaguely but I've not seen it in action a lot.

Final thing, does anyone else see anything weird with some prioritizations? Surely a doctor would prevent a person from being turned into an animal for example, because that doesn't seem like a positive action for that person. Maybe some characters have a quirk where their actions go first or there's a prioritizer/de-prioritizer in this game.

This is a well thought out, excellent analysis on the current state of affairs. Well done. If you got any questions to ask me, i'll answer em.

Superman could in theory be a bulletproof JOAT even. In the realm of mafia you have to tone it down or at least make the powers more concise for game purposes. Multiple JOATs, a 48 player mason group, all wacky stuff I feel like is being put out there specifically to throw us off.

Still not sure how I feel about the lantern setup, and basically half the town being part apparently. The bus driver also didn’t let the woman go through with her action (or she didn’t attempt at all?) what’s up with that.

The question of why the caped guy didn't stop the magic act keeps coming up. Seems weird to be held up on that though.

Caped guy vows that the woman he's watching isn't going to die so I would assume he's acting as a protector. The magic used didn't kill the target so if course a protector wouldn't stop that from happening. Basic Mafia rules really

As for other prioritizations. I do agree that the AI thing being able to scan someone before they are bussed seemed odd. And that's definitely a scum bussing. And I would say Reverse Flash is not town aligned.
